I've been really struggling with washing my hair recently, and haven't had a good wash day in a very long time (other than wash/cut at hairdressers). Every time I use shampoo, it seems to make my hair super heavy and impossible to style. I've tried different shampoos (clarifying, cheating) but they all seem to have this annoying effect. It's like shampoo is absorbing into my hair and not rinsing out...
I assume it must be something to do with technique in how I'm washing my hair, but I've tried copying what they do at a salon and it's still the same. I've also thought it could be due to our house having quite hard water, yet I don't really have a means of testing washing with less hard water so can't confirm.

My ex-wife Nina (37F) and I (37M) have two kids, Leo (5M) and Bella (7F). We co-parent and have joint custody, so they spend an equal amount of time between the two of us.
Our daughter Bella is basically the polar opposite to her mom. Nina’s a designer, and she’s very passionate about fashion and beauty trends, while Bella’s a real rough and tumble tomboy kind of kid who likes to play in the mud and climb trees. Bella’s complained about having long hair ever since she was two and a half. My ex-wife Nina (37F) and I (37M) have two kids, Leo (5M) and Bella (7F). We co-parent and have joint custody, so they spend an equal amount of time between the two of us.
Our daughter Bella is basically the polar opposite to her mom. Nina’s a designer, and she’s very passionate about fashion and beauty trends, while Bella’s a real rough and tumble tomboy kind of kid who likes to play in the mud and climb trees. While Nina lets Bella do what she wants for the most part, she's still strict about Bella wearing cute dresses whenever there’s a party or special occasion, and also insisted that Bella keep her (admittedly beautiful) waist-length curly blond hair.
Bella’s complained about having long hair ever since she was two and a half. She would beg and plead with Nina to allow her to cut it, but Nina would always tell her how beautiful it is, how it would be a shame since it took so long to grow, how lots of little girls would love to have hair like hers- stuff like that.
Well, this weekend I took my son to get his hair cut. As my son was getting his hair cut, Bella started to cry and talk about how unfair it is that her mom forces her to keep her hair long, how it gets tangled so easily and takes so long to take care of. She begged me to let her cut it short. I figured that hair grows back, and kids experiment with different styles all the time, so there was no harm in it.
