2023.03.27 11:23 medlineacademic Fellowship in Embryology: A ladder to embryologists’ success
![]() | https://preview.redd.it/uea47jfc29qa1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=ca5db9bda2dc1eae789bca51391cc2486b4d6a6b submitted by medlineacademic to u/medlineacademic [link] [comments] A biologist who carefully monitors human gametes (eggs and sperm) while they are outside the human body is known as an embryologist. Scientists with a focus on the study of embryo development - from fertilisation to birth or hatching - are known as embryologists. They research the morphogenesis, organogenesis, differentiation, and cell division that take place throughout embryonic development. Many methods, such as microscopy, molecular biology, genetics, and animal studies, are employed by embryologists to examine embryos. Their work is crucial to understanding how living things grow and how birth malformations and other anomalies might emerge during the embryonic stage. Developmental biology, reproductive medicine, genetics, and evolutionary biology are just a few of the specialties practiced by embryologists. Formal Education in Embryology Ancient Greek philosophers like Aristotle, who wrote extensively about the development of animal embryos, made discoveries that eventually led to the development of the modern field of embryology. However, the establishment of microscopy and the cell theory in the late 19th century marked the start of formal education in embryology as a distinct field. Wilhelm His, a Swiss anatomist and embryologist, established Leipzig, Germany's first embryology institute in 1875. Many of the early pioneers in the area, including Paul Ehrlich and Hans Spemann, received their training at this institute, which later became a hub for embryology research and education. Since then, instruction in embryology has been incorporated into a variety of biology and medical programmes all across the world. These programmes now provide courses in anything from fundamental embryology to more complex subjects like developmental genetics and stem cell biology. Formal training in embryology typically begins at the university level and involves a combination of classroom lectures, laboratory work, and hands-on research experience. Let’s further look at what the course curriculum covers at each level of formal education in embryology. At undergraduate level: · Basic Principles of Embryology · Fertilization Process · Cell Division and Differentiation · Organogenesis · Fetal Development · Stages of embryonic development in different organisms At Graduate level: · Specialized training in embryology through a master's or doctoral degree program · Advanced coursework and research experience · Developmental genetics · Stem cell biology · Reproductive medicine Students may also have the opportunity to conduct original research and publish their findings in scientific journals. The majority of the laboratory work in a Diploma in Embryology often includes the use of molecular biology, tissue culture, and microscopy. In addition to learning how to examine and work with fetal tissues, students will also learn how to decipher and evaluate complex biological data. Besides, formal coursework and laboratory work, mentees enrolled for Fellowship in Embryology may also participate in conferences, seminars, and workshops to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in the field. They may also have the opportunity to collaborate with other researchers in the field, either through internships, research projects, or postdoctoral positions. Medline Academics- Premium institute for Fellowship Program Founded by pioneer in the field of Infertility, Medline Academics- an eLearning platform, is one of the best training institutes for formal education in embryology. With their fellowship program, you have access to Basic Andrology, Basic Embryology, Advanced Embryology, Genetics, Research Methodology and Quality Assurance in Embryology Laboratory. With the practical training, you will learn about semen analysis, semen sample preparation, ovum pick up, denudation, dish preparation, immobilization, alignment of micromanipulator, ICSI, IMSI, Embryo culturing, Assisted Hatching, Vitrification of embryos and oocytes, thawing of embryos and oocytes and Embryo transfer. Formal training in embryology is a rigorous and intellectually challenging process that prepares students for careers in a wide range of fields, including academia, medicine, biotechnology, and government research. By studying the complex and dynamic process of embryonic development, embryologists can contribute to our understanding of human health and disease, as well as the evolution of life on Earth. 2023.02.04 17:28 clippycactus Unpopular opinion: I don't like being coerced by dentist offices into routine dental x-rays for routine cleaning when I have perfectly healthy teeth. I think it's unnecessary and not actionable. Are yearly x-rays another backwards American thing?
I posed the question "how often do ya'll get dental x-rays" to the AskEurope sub, and people from: Poland, Germany, Spain, Scotland, Netherlands, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Hungary...Original Post:
said that yearly dental x-rays are weird, and that their hygienists/dentists did not make them receive dental x-rays at any point in their lives at all, except before major surgeries.
Sweden and the UK were the exceptions, who recommend them every couple of years, but they still let you opt out of x-rays if you ask.
Source: https://www.reddit.com/AskEurope/comments/10vliwo/how_often_do_yall_get_dental_xrays/
Thank you for the people in this sub who tried to help, but for the others calling me unreasonable, in many many parts of the world, I am not — which I suspected.
I know that some of my responses were defensive, but I had at least 3 people saying that I was ignorant and in the same breath say that cellphone/bluetooth radiation is the same thing as being x-rayed.
No. No it is not. Please familiarize yourself with the difference between ionizing and non-ionizing radiation; I don't believe they teach you that in hygienist school.
X-rays are cumulative, which I am sure you all know, which is why you have a lead/metal wall in your offices to protect you.
I have finally located a dentist in my area who will let me go to his office without yearly x-rays. All I have to do is sign a yearly waiver. I don't even need an x-ray as a new patient. For anyone genuinely interested in who that is, I will not disclose his office, but you should be able to find him if you google "holistic dentist, dallas" and just call around.
Once again, thank you to the well-wishers and to the person who recommended finding a holistic dentist. And to the people who tried to educate without being patronizing. But as someone else said, "we fundamentally disagree".
To perform the systematic review, We searched the PUBMED, EMBASE, and MEDLINE databases for papers published before December 15, 2016. The final 21 studies were selected after application of exclusion criteria. In brain tumor studies, the association between dental X-ray exposure and meningioma was statistically significant in 5 of the 7 studies*. In 4 of the 5 thyroid-related studies, there was a* significant correlation with dental diagnostic X-rays*. In studies on head and neck areas, tumors included laryngeal, parotid gland, and salivary gland cancers. There was also a* statistically significant correlation between full-mouth X-rays and salivary gland cancer, but not parotid gland cancer. Health outcomes such as leukemia, low birth weight, cataracts, and thumb carcinomas were also reported. In a few studies examining health effects related to dental X-ray exposure, possibly increased risks of meningioma and thyroid cancer were suggested. More studies with a large population and prospective design are needed to elaborate these associations further. To me, this is a preponderance of evidence to me that I should avoid dental x-rays when I can.
“It’s crazy,” says Dr. Nicholas Dello Russo, an instructor in the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Harvard University School of Dental Medicine. “We’re doing an experiment on a vast number of people in this country and we have no idea how it will play out in the next 15 or 20 years.” - CNN (2011)Which is exactly how I feel.

2022.12.21 12:00 IFERPConference Knowing These 10 Secrets Will Make Your Scopus Journal Look Amazing
![]() | It is difficult to publish and successfully manage a high-caliber, peer-reviewed Scopus-indexed research publication. One of the prerequisites is the presence of a team and an experienced editor who is competent. A Scopus-indexed journal's long-term viability depends on high-caliber submissions, an active editorial board, competent reviewers, a workable business model to ensure financial support, increased visibility to encourage more submissions, indexation in numerous significant databases, online accessibility, and a user-friendly website. In order to make sure of the longevity of a high-quality, Scopus peer-reviewed journal, this article goes over the logistical and technological difficulties that must be overcome in order to operate a world-class Scopus journal. submitted by IFERPConference to u/IFERPConference [link] [comments] A Scopus-indexed journal's editorial board and the caliber of its reviewers determine how good it is. Therefore, a capable editor backed by a team of editorial personnel is the first and most crucial prerequisite for the effective operation of a magazine. In truth, there are a few absolute necessities that must be satisfied in order for a Scopus journal to function successfully and sustain itself over time. They are as follows - ● Well-written texts ● A suitable workplace and the bare minimum of employees ● Stability of finances ● An active editorial board ● Reviewers of high caliber ● Greater visibility ● Indexing in different databases ● Availability on the web ● User-friendly Website Scopus journal easy publication ● Secret #1 Starting Off On The Right Foot ○ One should first evaluate the strength and resources since all that comes after depends on it once the legal and governmental processes for obtaining a declaration have been fulfilled. ○ Always go gently and make sure your movement is steady. ○ Decide if your Scopus journal or publication will appear monthly, quarterly, bimonthly, annually, or biannually. ○ Selecting the editorial board and founding members should be done with care. ○ Choose the people who are enthusiastic and interested rather than the famous people who are too busy and don't have time. ○ The financial resources will be taken into consideration while deciding on the publishing schedule. ○ Of course, timely posting according to frequency is crucial. ○ There are various logistical and technological challenges when launching a new Scopus journal. ○ First and foremost, it is crucial that there be a suitable office with a minimum of full-time employees. ○ This involves creating a website with effect, choosing a manuscript management system, improving the title, and applying for an ISSN number. If there are both print and online editions of your Scopus journal, separate ISSN numbers are required for each. ○ Establish your journal's abbreviation, which will be used in all references and should appear everywhere. ○ Having a method to provide a DOI (digital object identifier) to each paper you publish is now a need in the world of online publishing, not an option. ■ Peer Review System ● Choose from a single-blind, double-blind, or open peer review system as the peer review method to be used. ● The editorial staff must be careful to attract and keep competent reviewers because it may take some time to build a strong Reviewers Database for the Scopus journal publication. ● Before they are shared with the writers, it is crucial that the editorial team goes over the reviewers' remarks to remove any harsh or improper language. ■ The Journal's Contents ● Print and electronic media both have well-known roles in informing, educating, and guiding people. ● Therefore, the majority of the aforementioned roles may be seen in a scientific journal's contents. ● It is possible to submit articles and manuscripts that provide the journal's readers with relevant information. ● Second, the newspaper may be a beneficial tool for educating the general public, or its target readership, on a variety of national concerns while taking into account the socioeconomic development, environment, and cultural values specific to the region. ● In order to do this, it is crucial that the author be knowledgeable and skilled enough to instruct the audience after compiling all the necessary data. ● The authocontributor must analyze the events occurring and underline any potential impacts or ramifications. ● The third and most crucial duty is that of a guide, which cannot be carried out unless the author keeps himself or herself properly educated and up to date on the subject being written about. ● Because they may mislead the public and readers in general rather than leading them, uninformed authors are no less than weapons of mass devastation. ● Peer review, which involves having experts in the subject other than the editor assess articles before they are published, was developed many years ago as a way to guarantee that the correct messages are sent. ● The editor is responsible for setting up and managing the journal's peer review system. ● While peer review has many benefits, it also has several drawbacks, including the potential to slow down work progress, postpone publications, and occasionally fail to catch inaccurate information or academic or scientific dishonesty. ● Secret #2 A Broad Range Of Topics ○ To be able to satisfy the demands of all classes and groups of readers, the journal must have a broad variety of contents, such as - ■ Reviews, ■ Clinical Case Series, ■ Short/Brief Communications, ■ Short tales, ■ Relevant News, ■ Book Reviews, ■ Obituary Notes, ■ Quizes, and other items based on original research may be included, while reader comments should be encouraged and appreciated. ○ Many people who for various reasons cannot attend these events may find the conference reports to be extremely helpful and enlightening. ○ For the readers, information on - ■ significant upcoming events, ■ conferences, ■ seminars, and ■ symposia might also be a very helpful addition. ○ A strong review ought to assist the writers in editing and raising the caliber of their papers. ○ In order to help editors deal with scientific misconduct, the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) has created certain flowcharts. ● Secret #3 Understanding & Strictly Adhering To Genre & Discipline-Specific Guidelines ○ Guidelines for submitting papers to Scopus journals of every discipline will have already been developed by the global policymaking organizations for those disciplines and are updated every few years. ○ There is a common format for journals of most disciplines all across the world - SIMRAD, where - ■ S refers to structured abstract a covers the key elements of the original, most widely published papers. ■ I stands for the introduction ■ M is short for methods. ■ R stands for Results ■ A stands for analysis, and ■ D stands for discussion. ○ The conclusions, acknowledgments, and pertinent references are then included after the manuscript. ○ Authors are expected to disclose any potential conflicts of interest and funding sources. ○ Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion are the four subheadings that typically appear in a structured abstract, which is then followed by pertinent Key Words. ○ Case Reports and Special Communications are seen to be sufficient with a one-paragraph summary. ○ The criteria for drafting a review article for a lot of disciplines, however, stipulate that the abstract must include information regarding the databases that were utilized for the literature search and the time period during which the material was retrieved. ○ It is crucial that manuscripts with a message that is pertinent to the domains of culture and sociology are included in journals and publications that address these topics. ○ A beneficial addition to the material may be success stories that inspire readers to take the same path. ○ Readers would appreciate real-world occurrences that offer advice on how to handle certain issues. ○ The content should be inviting to readers, and when readership grows, it is seen as a very positive indicator for the Scopus journal. ■ Guidelines For Authors ● Comprehensive information for the authors must be included in both the print edition and on the journal website. ● The maximum number of figures and tables that may be included, as well as the maximum amount of words that the journal will accept in various categories of write-ups, should be specified. ● It ought to give thorough instructions to the writers, such as the journal's anti-plagiarism policy. ■ Ensuring Transparency ● Specific information regarding any - ○ processing fees, ○ publication costs, ○ the peer review process, ○ the kinds of manuscripts accepted for publication, ○ information regarding the fast-track processing of manuscripts, ○ registration of trials, ○ industry-sponsored studies, ○ the anticipated turnaround time from submission to peer review, etc., must be stated clearly in the instructions to ensure transparency. ● There shouldn't be any unstated fees. ● Additionally, it is advised that the journal offer a platform for the resolution of complaints and grievances against the writers, readers, reviewers, and advertisers. ● Those whose papers are rejected need to have the opportunity to challenge the judgement as well. ● Currently, several publications have designated Ombudsmen for this, and their contact information is available both in the journal and online. ■ Copy Editing ● Sometimes, the English and grammar of a work that has been accepted for publication have to be improved. ● The journals should hire copy editors if they have the funds to do so. ● In addition to enhancing the English language and grammar, they are expected to reduce information repetition and, if necessary, redraft tables and figures to better express the intended meaning. ● However, the Editor must do this if there isn't a copy editor on staff. ● There are also certain software programs, such as Grammarly.org, that can help with English language and grammar. ● However, they require a subscription. ● Secret #4 Publication A Scopus Indexed Journal In Both Print & Online Formats ○ While the print edition of the journal has value since "seeing is believing," doing so is costly and time-consuming. ○ On the other hand, the Online Edition of the Journal is not only extremely rapid but also extremely cost-effective. ○ For this purpose, it is crucial that a magazine or publication has both print and online editions, as doing so will greatly boost its visibility. ● Secret #5 Thinking About & Planning For Your Scopus Journal's Financial Sustainability ○ It is one of the most crucial factors, and the editor should make sure there is enough finance to support the magazine over the long term. ○ The financing sources include contributions, philanthropic grants, trusts or foundation grants, and government funds, if available. ○ Even after some time has passed, subscription growth does not provide enough money for long-term expansion. ○ A strong, dedicated business staff is required for advertising, which might be a significant source of cash. ○ The first few years may be incredibly difficult, but as time goes on and the magazine or publication gains recognition, readers, and better exposure, things start to get a little bit easier. ○ The "Authors Pay Business Model" guarantees the Journal's financial viability once it has gained traction. Even yet, there are still far too many issues to deal with. ○ It must be kept in mind that, especially in the Developing World, maintaining and administering a high-caliber peer-reviewed magazine in any area or expertise is an extremely difficult task due to budgetary limitations and a lack of qualified, experienced human resources. ○ While it will take time to teach the personnel, the management also has the difficult issue of retaining them after they have received their training. ■ Regulatory Agencies' Recognition ● More submissions will be made if they are recognized by regulatory bodies, such as the higher education commissions of countries and regions, as well as international policymaking councils for a discipline. ● The higher education commissions of countries occasionally give grants to journals in the form of money nevertheless, at the end of the year, the journals must submit audited accounts for these donations. ■ Indexation In The Scopus Database ○ Recognition and coverage in Scopus, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Web of Science; inclusion in Medline PubMed, PubMed Central, Scopus; ○ recognition by Thompson Reuter (Clarivate Analytics (https://clarivate.com/), and ○ obtaining Impact Factor, applying for DOI numbers after a contract with CrossRef, and recognition by Clarivate Analytics (https://clarivate.com/), all ensure credibility, increased visibility, and readership, which in turn leads to an increase in submission. ● All of this might not be simple, though, as most of these databases have evaluation committees that assess the content quality before approving the journal's recognition. ● Furthermore, frequent publishing on time is a need. ■ Plagiarism Check ● A variety of free software programs are accessible online to check for plagiarism, but Turnitin/iThenticate, to which one must subscribe, is the most significant. ● A lot of public universities in various countries, including medical schools, are now able to check for plagiarism via paid platforms thanks to funding from their respective higher education commissions. ● In order to prevent future humiliation and retractions, all submitted articles must be checked for plagiarism before being approved for publication. ● Grammar-checking software, such as Grammarely.org, is also available, but again, this requires a subscription. Scopus journal.Scopus journal ● Secret #6 Leaving No Room For Ownership & IP (Intellectual Property) Related Issues ○ The issues and challenges involved in owning these publications are likewise involved in running a good magazine. ○ If the project's owners are a society, organization, foundation, trust, or a group of academic institutions, they can set aside enough money for it. ○ Additionally, they can hire qualified professionals to handle and manage the journal if they so want. ○ However, in addition to providing financial assistance, these institutions and organizations must guarantee that the Editor has sufficient autonomy to make crucial daily choices regarding the magazine. ○ But if the Editor is required to obtain approval from higher authorities for each and every move or decision, it would not only delay the entire publication process but also discourage the Editorial staff from taking the initiative. ○ The editors should ideally be hired under a contract that specifies their duration, rights, and obligations. ○ The field of information technology has advanced significantly over the past two decades, which has both eased the job of editors and increased their stress levels. ○ As a consequence of this, it has become increasingly challenging for editors to meet the expectations of authors who are often impatient and want to see their manuscripts published as soon as possible. ○ The pressure organizations that the editors must deal with are also renowned for being the most hazardous. ○ In conclusion, it is difficult to maintain and manage a high-quality journal when there are financial and human resource limitations. ○ It is quite painstaking and demanding work, and all of the potential issues and challenges need to be considered before starting the process of publishing a journal. ○ However, the Editor's expertise will go a long way toward ensuring smooth sailing. ● Secret #7 Understanding The Significance Of Research Impact & Striving For It ○ The word "impact" has long been popular in academics. ○ Beyond the confines of academics, it has been characterized as having an impact on, altering, or benefiting the economy, society at large, cultural sensibilities, public policy or services, health, the environment, or quality of life. ○ The demonstrated contribution of great research to society and the economy, which "may encompass academic impact, economic effect, and societal impact," is another definition. ○ Further definitions of research impact can be broken down as follows - ■ The demonstrated contribution that great research provides to scientific achievements across and within disciplines, including major gains in understanding, technique, theory, and application, can be defined as academic impact. ■ The demonstrated contribution that outstanding research provides to society and the economy, of value to individuals, organizations, and countries, can be defined as economic and societal impacts. ○ Impact may be defined as the contribution that academic research provides to society at large. ■ Why Is The Impact Of Research Crucial? ● The impact of research is significant for various reasons. ● In order to obtain financing and further a journal's life, publishers must first demonstrate the significance of the studies they publish. ● Academic research that has an impact has the capacity to make our world a better place. ● It may enhance our culture, advance our health, shape our laws and regulations, inspire the creation of new technologies, and improve our quality of life. ● Publishers often consult each other on the most effective pathways to achieving impact for their journals and other aspects of research impact. ● You may also read on for a more thorough explanation of how to assess and publish high-impact material for your publication. ■ How To Publish More Highly Influential Studies ● Let's move on to how you might improve your journal so that it produces more high-impact material now that we've discussed what research impact is and why it matters. ■ Look Into A Development Plan ● A thorough, strategic development strategy serves as the cornerstone of creating any Scopus journal. ● A thorough data analysis should guide the development of this plan. ● To help with data collection and analysis, enlist the services of an organization such as IFERP. ● IFERP can offer access to a number of different data sources in addition to our internal reporting. ● To get a complete picture of how your Scopus journal is doing, take into account a variety of indicators, including altmetrics and the Impact Factor. ● After evaluating its present situation, consider the future. ○ What is missing from the Scopus journal? ○ Do you want the Scopus journal to go somewhere? ○ What top priorities do you have over the next five years? ● Consider basing your investigation and analysis on a few primary issues. ■ Determining Popular Subjects - What Are People Talking About? ● You might use a variety of techniques to spot popular topics - ○ Examine usage statistics for your own Scopus journal to determine the most popular articles ○ Examine the articles that are often mentioned under your own title and those of your main rivals. ○ Search the contents pages of recent publications and journal articles in your field of study for recurring topics. ○ Consider current events and how they may affect your industry. ○ Participate in the online conversations taking place in your neighborhood. ○ Analyze funding data from several sources using relevant databases - ■ Who receives funding? ■ How much money is on hand? ■ What subjects are being funded? ■ Which kinds of grants are being distributed? ■ Recognizing Influential Research Authors - Whose Article Are People Seeking Out? ● To create a snapshot of the research landscape, identify the top authors in your subject. ● Remember that novel, groundbreaking studies frequently include relative unknowns. ● So, even while it's critical to identify the writers you can bank on for a consistent supply of citations, don't undervalue authors with a lesser reputation. ● Long-term success requires developing author loyalty to the publication. ● You may even conduct an author poll to find areas for development. ■ Finding Influential Institutions - Where Is The Best Research Being Carried Out? ● Finding the top research institutions in a field of study builds on the findings of the main writers. ● A journal can benefit greatly from gaining an institution's confidence and support by obtaining a consistent supply of high-quality articles that are likely to receive favorable citations. ● Write to the institution's writers. ● Encourage them to submit by outlining the advantages of publishing in the magazine. ● Asking its members to serve as guest editors is a good strategy to engage institutions in the journal. ● Or they might contribute to a Special Issue or write an invited essay. ● It's preferable to discuss aims with the editorial board first before contacting them. ■ Where Do The Opportunities Seem To Be At When Identifying Regional Patterns? ● Examining geographical trends in readership, citations, acceptances, and submissions might reveal areas for journal growth and boost diversity within the journal. ○ Exist any regions that have especially high or low submission rates? ○ Is this the result of certain organizations or business deals? ○ Exist any funding options? ○ Does the Scopus journal have a good reputation in the area? How do you get the word out there? ● The important organizations you mentioned above can aid in this decision-making process. ● There can be specific A&I services in the area that direct journal choice. ● Find out more about how they choose, then understand what you can do to market your Scopus journal. ■ Come Up With A Concrete But Viable Development Strategy ● It's time to begin drafting a development strategy once you've addressed the aforementioned problems. ● At IFERP, you may collaborate with our journal promotion specialists to collect and evaluate data and create a documented development plan. ● Your growth strategy should be organized around a few key goals. ● Each of these goals has to be SMART - Emphasized below is a quick summary of the measures most closely associated with research impact. ■ Syllabi, Citations, & Altmetric ● Citations are a trusted, time-tested indicator of scholarly significance. ● They unequivocally demonstrate the impact one piece of study has on related works. ● Citations connect the links between various publications and aid in demonstrating the impact research has had on the field. ● The utilization of the study in teaching is another evidence of its academic significance. ● This includes citing the study in seminars and lectures or including it on reading lists and syllabi. ● This sort of influence is pretty difficult to attempt to quantify. ● The relationship between a piece of research and its impact in the classroom is not always obvious, in contrast to academic citations. ● Even so, there are several tools that can be useful. ● For instance, the Open Syllabus Project keeps tabs on the research that is covered in syllabi all throughout the world. ● Publishers are advised to utilize Altmetric to gauge the effect of non-academic research. ● Here's how Altmetric may assist publishers in tracking and evaluating the evidence of the impact of their research - ○ Propagation Of Knowledge ■ Altmetric keeps track of the many internet discussions taking place around your study. Social media attention to a piece of research is proof that people are talking about it. ■ Of course, it doesn't necessarily mean that others are being nice when they discuss your study. ■ If someone is misrepresenting your findings, don't be hesitant to intervene in the debate. ■ Use Altmetric to see exactly what is being stated. You can see anything in your Altmetric donut, from social media discussions to news references. ○ Non-Academic References ■ Altmetric is the solution if you're interested in non-academic citations. ■ Citations are among the most glaring pieces of academic or practical effect proof. ■ When a piece of research is referenced in a policy statement or a court judgment, it means that the findings have had a substantial impact on actual choices and have had an impact on official recommendations, rules, guidelines, or regulations. ■ In addition to policy papers, patents, and court decisions, the Altmetric donut now collects online data for citations in a variety of other documents. ■ It's interesting to note that early Mendeley citations, which are part of the Altmetric donut, might indicate future scholarly citations. ● Secret #10 Understanding The Role Of The Output Of Scopus Journals In The Formulation Of Public Policy ○ Whenever possible, good, peer-reviewed scientific research should serve as the foundation for public policy. ○ Such policy choices should be based on a substantial, well-respected body of knowledge rather than a single study or viewpoint. ○ Some scientists and journal editors might not be immediately aware of the consequences of research for social policy. ○ Readers may send the journal written comments if they disagree with the social policy implications of a certain article. ○ Such comments may be taken into consideration for publishing following suitable evaluation, depending on journal policy. ○ Scientific journals, which are often specialized for various academic subjects or subdisciplines, stand as the most important medium for communicating research findings. ○ In order to have a greater knowledge of the facts and conclusions, research frequently questions widely held beliefs as well as the study data that has been published in the scientific literature. ○ Articles can be reports of original research, re-analyses of other people's research, reviews of the literature in a certain field, suggestions of novel but unproven hypotheses, or opinion pieces, depending on the rules of a particular magazine. Check up on the IFERP blog page if you'd like to keep yourself updated with the latest journal publication trends, growth techniques, Scopus journal easy publication methodologies, funding activities, and more. |

![]() | The City of Fort Worth TX is promoting projects meant to divert materials away from landfill. They aim to reuse, repurpose, mulch, or compost waste materials. There is a growing problem with garbage filling up landfills in Fort Worth TX. In fact, the amount of waste that could be composted is about 30% only of all presently dumped in landfills. submitted by MedlinFirm to u/MedlinFirm [link] [comments] Compost As An Alternative FertilizerCompost is added to the soil by farmers and gardeners to enrich it and enhance its nutrient content. It can be used in place of soil to grow plants. The mature compost forms humus, a dark brown or black organic matter produced by the decomposition of leaves and other matter. The practice of composting food waste has several advantages. First, it replaces chemical fertilizers with organic material to help plants grow. Next, it raises crop yields because it is rich in nutrients. Lastly, it enhances contaminated, compacted, and marginal soils, assisting in reforestation, wetlands restoration, and habitat regeneration. Why is food waste composting important in Fort Worth TX? The failure to recover valuable energy, organic matter, nutrients, and water contained in food waste leads to the loss of natural resources. Also, it will lead to human health problems, pollution of rivers and seas, and methane emissions from landfills. One of the biggest environmental issues facing cities today is food waste, and they are asking for assistance. Moreover, collecting and treating food waste properly can offer new opportunities. Also, it can reduce greenhouse gas emissions in addition to the solution to composting issues. Preserving LandfillsBy adjusting your routines a little bit each day, you can preserve the landfill capacity for years to come. Also, you are preventing the investment of millions of dollars in infrastructure.Waste in Fort Worth TX can now be turned into resources by collecting food scraps. It can be composted and used as fertilizer for the soil. As a result, food scraps are diverted from your rubbish cart when composted, extending the landfill life in Fort Worth TX. Diverting more non-waste products away from landfills helps taxpayers maintain or reduce costs. Also, it avoids excessive methane greenhouse gas emissions into our air from decomposing food leftovers at the dump. By diverting food scraps and producing valuable products, their local economy can also reap benefits. Currently, local landfill conditions in Fort Worth TX greatly influence the collection and treatment of food waste. Also, effective food waste collection and treatment can be put into place with no technological obstacles. However, all that is needed is a financial commitment and political will to implement a change. Contribution To The Community GreeningLandfills contain more than just discarded food in your area. The problem is that it emits methane, a very powerful greenhouse gas to the environment. Methane is produced through the anaerobic bacterial decomposition of food waste in landfills.Fort Worth TX communities are ready and equipped to take the lead on environmental issues in Texas. Also, their participation in this initiative results in the collection of useful data for North Texas and beyond. Residents of Fort Worth TX are becoming more and more motivated to act ethically and contribute to the greening of their neighborhoods.
