2023.06.07 05:14 Veritas1321 The Maw of Magic
| She is not a general, she is not a leader, she can hardly evenbe considered a tactician. But she is two things, a snake, and an egotist. She is in the War of The Moving City not for glory, the worship of Tzeentch, or any gain. She has joined this war on a whim. If she wished she could have obbliterated any of the other champions with a wave of her three hands and with her true mouth opening. Where an eye should be, the opening to an infinite spiral of pure winds of magic, countless souls have been absorbed within it and none will ever meet Shyish, instead to be used in the bottomless furnace of malice and evil that is Danndraa Ursadean Despite such power, she does not just simply raze places to the ground, for that would not be enough for her. For she wishes to break and bend every target of her attention, watch as a night with a king leads to civil war, the whisper of false insults breaking blood bonds, and seeing people realize that their kingdoms are NOTHING compared the will of Chaos. (hi ok so I also have her origin story mapped out so Ima burden you with it as well) Danalia was born on a ship in Ghyran, the realm of life. Her parents were part of a pirate crew that hardly even had a dozen men. For a curious young girl, being on a ship was a double-edged sword; she could see the wide blue and look through any 'loot' the ship had acquired. But being around grumpy drunk men and a mother who was negligent at the best of times did not do much for her health. When the ship docked in a wealthy city, the ship decided to sell the young girl. At first, Danalia thought this was all a practical joke. Her parents wouldn't abandon their 6-year-old girl for money? Danndraa was sold once more, this time to a loving family. The king and queen of the city had been unable to produce an heir or heiress. So they turned to dubious means of obtaining an heiress. Despite the less-than-legal means of getting their child, the king and queen loved Danalia; they allowed her to study in any educational field but made her study in some version of self-defense. Danalia had decided on marine engineering as her major study, with the thought of seeing her biological parents at the front of her mind. They never wanted her, but it's hard for a young mind to accept they are unwanted. As she studied engineering, she took up sorcery, the winds of Chamon were her pick. Metal magic mixed almost perfectly with her desire to be an engineer, but as her ambitions of building SOMETHING that could help her find her parents. The voice of someone promising all her ambitions shall come true. It was as if someone gripped the strings on a free-moving puppet; no longer was there a curious girl who desired only to make a ship to see her parents. Now there was a woman with a deamon in her ear. Telling her that the Sorceress Danndraa shall see the realms burn to get what she wants. What happened to that sprawling port city was never recorded, the name lost to time, but where it once stood is now a leakage of Tzeentchian corruption. The changer of ways had found his most favorite puppet yet. https://preview.redd.it/23czhlv3ii4b1.png?width=1134&format=png&auto=webp&s=4304414e529cf60790e83c473e40b147847f3669 submitted by Veritas1321 to AoSLore [link] [comments] |
2023.06.07 05:13 dazeylazey Doing what you can to make what is uncomfortable palatable
It seems a few may relate to us in a particular quirk: Often alters can become "dislodged" from their normal routines and front more often for a period of time when discovered by the host.
Will is going to go through that. He is currently closer than ever before, and after fronting for a few hours, he is very disoriented. He has his own issues which end up manifesting as struggling to tell what is real and what is not. He isn't irrational or dangerous, he's simply dealing with trauma. If anyone can relate to Will, it's important that you know that its okay to not be certain of who you are, why you're here. You need support, and you shouldn't be too embarrassed to reach out to those closest and most trusted. That is obviously easier said than done, so try to just remember that when you are ready, there will be health and happiness waiting for you.
I, Sylvie, will be doing all I can to make Will's stay as comfortable as I can. That means making sure none of us interact with potential triggers, and finding things he's most likely to enjoy and be able to relax around to surround ourself with instead. It also means being compassionate and understanding - that is, giving Will space when he needs it and active support when he's ready for it.
It's important to remember that alters are never "difficult" for the sake of being troublesome. If someone in your system is struggling, they may be exhibiting behaviors that are easy to forget are only symptoms of something greater. They are likely to be trying and testing your patience, but its crucial to remind yourself that they, as a part of you, deserve all consideration and empathy possible.
I know Will will not enjoy his time fronting more, but I also know he'll have an entire system behind him, rooting for him, and never giving up on him. He will not be invalidated or judged, only uplifted. As a caregiver who is mainly provides internal looking-after to littles, I am happy to know that I am entirely capable of stepping in when someone needs it the most, no matter who and where they are. That is important.

2023.06.07 05:13 Scire1677 Allow Q to stack conqueror
They are changing rumble to be more bruser-like but his rune options do not match. Please finally allow q to stack conq just like how garen E does. It really makes zero sense that a bruiser-like version of Rumble would still run comet or electrocute. I am no Rumble main by any means (I play Rumble top for fun sometimes even though I am shit) but please change this shit. Rune versatility would allow rumble to be better vs other matchups (Tanks and shit) and not just going full mag pen and praying you could steamroll your opponents to win.

2023.06.07 05:13 fallenarist0crat am i (33f) wrong for being skeptical about my childhood bully’s (32m) intentions?
this guy i went to school with almost 20 years ago followed me on instagram and then messaged me out of the blue. i assume he found me via one of our mutual friends cos we have a lot of them, which wouldn’t be that strange, but the fact that he was also in the ER at the time was. also because when were in school he used to bully me. everyone used to say he liked me, but i never really believed that and therefore have always had really confusing and pretty negative feelings toward him. i distinctly remember his bullying started around the 4th grade when we were about 10-11yo cos before that he was much nicer toward me.
anyway, the conversation we had started out great. he even flirted with me a bit, which was… strange, but i just assumed it was the morphine talking. it was all going really well until i mentioned how weird it was to be talking to him after all this time. he asked me why, and i said because he used to bully me. he said he didn’t remember doing that, but was sorry if he did. we were having such a nice convo otherwise so i just said “okay, you do seem to have changed, so it’s fine i guess” and then attempted to continue chatting. but then outta nowhere he goes “actually, on second thought you don’t seem to believe i’ve changed at all and you’re still being as judgmental as always. i don’t know why i ever thought we could be friends”. i tried apologizing for what i said, but he never replied and ended up unfollowing me shortly after.
and i just… idk what he’s talking about. i don’t even know why he’s expecting a different reaction from me after all these years… i have nothing but bad memories of him and no reason to think he’s a radically different person now. and if he doesn’t remember being a bully anyway, why does he want me to believe he’s changed so badly? and why’s he even looking for my approval anyway? i should mean nothing to him. and why even bother doing this while he was in the hospital of all places? it’s not like he was dying or something. it doesn’t make any sense.
i even messaged some of our mutual friends from back then to ask if they remembered him being a bully toward me… cos maybe it was me who was misremembering, idk. but no, they all did. so am i wrong for being skeptical about him and his supposed change? i’m just so confused by his actions and words… the conversation truly was going well until the moment he got upset. i don’t know what i did wrong.

2023.06.07 05:13 Lost-My-Mind- Amazon says "Delivered", but no package?
So I ordered some stuff off of amazon, and says it was delivered today, which would be early.
Problem is, I go to my front porch, and don't see any package.
I go back to the amazon track package, and it says "This notice serves as proof of delivery". It just has some basic info. Says it was delivered in "Cleveland, Ohio" but does not show my address. Says it was delivered at 5:28pm.
Problem is, I never saw any UPS guys on my porch, and the delivery notice says "left on porch".
I'm not sure if UPS does photo evidence, but there's no picture included with this notice.
This notice does absolutely nothing to prove to me that it was delivered, or where it was delivered. Maybe they did deliver it.....at the wrong address. Maybe they didn't deliver it at all. Maybe they did deliver it, and someone stole it off my porch (although this would be extremely unlikely, as it would mean first me somehow missing the UPS guy walking on my porch, and second me missing someone coming on my porch to steal a 25 pound package. It would also require me to not see the package the entire time it was delivered, and sitting on my porch).
So in my mind, this "notice" means absolutely nothing.
Has anyone else had anything similar happen to them? I'm in the edgewater neighborhood if that makes a difference.
Oh, and by the way, the thing stolen was some storage tubs. Big, bulky, heavy tubs. Not worth any money, but they still cost $135.

2023.06.07 05:13 ContestGlittering960 Opinion on Red Flags?
25 year old trying to get secret clearance for a DoD position, here are the red flags I have with possible mitigation. Do I have a chance?
🚩 Dual Citizenship & Derived Citizenship: Born in NATO country, came here at 2 years old, never left USA since, and got a derived citizenship via my mom be in naturalized when I was 11. Mitigation: Already contacted consulate to begin process of renouncing citizenship of NATO country.
🚩Contact with a foreign national: Dad still lives in said NATO country, not a government official, quarterly contact for holidays/birthdays. Mitigation: Not sure other than being more than willing to cease contact lol
🚩Involuntary Mental Health Hospitalization: 6 years ago, 3 day hold, partially in involuntary, partially in voluntary Mitigation: Consistent/ongoing working treatment from both therapist and psychiatrist
🚩Bipolar Disorder Diagnosis: 6 years ago right after hospitalization Mitigation: Wrong diagnosis, had multiple professionals thereafter diagnosis me with depression, anxiety, and ADHD instead, all of which I have consistent/current working treatment for
🚩 Termination from Employment AND 🚩 Unauthorized Use of Information Technology(?): One job out of 8 I was fired. Dismissed for lack of performance (poor attendance/tardiness). Reprimanded for data lookup not on a need-to-know basis, but not fired for it. Mitigation: 6 years ago, mental health issues (same year as hospitalization) that are treated now had led to poor performance, held jobs with same employer and sensitive info later with no issues, good terms with that supervisor
🚩 THC Usage: In “legal” state - occasional, social use, 1-3x annually, last time using was 03/2022. Mitigation: No interest in continued use, understanding that holding a federal position means upholding federal laws, no longer friendly with the frequent users I knew

2023.06.07 05:13 Smooth_Loan3610 Not like it’s any of our business as fans/viewers but….
I will really only be able to take Chrisean seriously and support her again if she removes her tattoos of Blueface, If she never acknowledges him on a back and forth thing on socials again, if I never see another video of them together again, and if she doesn’t let him sign the birth certificate.
I see Chrisean doing her big one recently and I’m happy for her cause she’s been ignoring everything that blue posts but something in me is scared that she’s gonna go back to her old ways sooner or later like she is/was SO obsessed and infatuated with this man it’s almost demonic.
And idkkk just something tells me she’s gonna go back to him and fuck everything up. I just think the best thing for her is to have her baby and don’t contact blue and just keep doing her and keep levelling up.
Cause atp he shouldn’t even be a co parent because it’s so clear he only shows love to his kids to spite Chrisean which is sad asf. And he’s loud and proud about being an absent father likeee so I feel like he’ll never change and shouldn’t even get access to Chriseans baby because he was all over social media teaming up with Stewie to wish death on Chriseans baby and say disgusting things so he shouldn’t have no part or ever be around that child unsupervised.

2023.06.07 05:12 SarahCannah How do you honestly explain leaving a job because it was an unhealthy environment?
I have worked in mental health for more than 20 years. I have had some great jobs, but wow, healthcare environments, particularly mental healthcare, are a mess. I’ve been in supervisory/management positions for about 6 years of that time, in solo private practice a good bit and various clinical and care management roles in agencies. I currently work in a large university hospital in sort of a mid-level role as far as clinical skill, but I have no direct reports. I’m good at my job. But I’ve been in the field long enough now that what stands out are the glaring process issues in systems. Everyone is affected, patients, providers…this is a major reason costs are astronomical in the US (that and greed…another thread). Anyway, I want to work in a system because I am a single parent and need to maximize benefits. And what I really should do for my own career satisfaction (and personal ethics) is try to do something to make this shitshow better. And of course, more money would be better as these kids of mine head to college. Which means management. Problem One: I don’t love dealing with management. Usually they are a big part of the issue. Problem Two: My last director position at a large university was in a department that was the most toxic I’ve come across. I had positive relationships with stakeholders in the larger community and within the department, but everyone in my program is now gone due to the toxicity. So, gentle readers, if you are still reading: how do I explain leaving this position, which could appear like I failed? Because really, the things I want to try to help do better in healthcare are many of the things that spun out of control in that last department.

2023.06.07 05:12 LifeIsMyDrug I became a problem in my friends' relationship bc I was stupid and selfish enough to think it wouldn't happen
I (female) had to say goodbye to two of my closest friends, a hetero married couple that has majorly supported me through some of the darkest times of my life and really I don't think it's an exaggeration to say they showed me how to be human and live life again after years of burnout and severe depression.
He and I are both military and have worked together for some years now. Our specific career field is incredibly stressful in a lot of ways the rest of the military even can't understand, and it has a high turnover rate. I found friends in him and his wife at the same time, always making it clear that this friendship was to be the three of us and wherever I invited one of them, the other was always welcome and wanted (with the exception of girls' nights for obvious reasons). Any messages any of us sent were either in a group chat with all three of us or it was about work. And we all got along really well, which if I didn't love his wife too, I would have said goodbye to him as well long ago. He was always transparent and so respectful to me and he's one of the few males I personally trust completely to not pull any stupid shit, and I don't trust easily. And I'm extremely stubborn in my morals and principles and mindful of appearances and so is he, even more so if that's possible. And he would always talk about his wife often and in such a loving way, and I loved it. One of the first lessons they taught me was it actually is possible to still be so in love even after 10 years of marriage. This was so precious to me because up until that point any couples I'd met that were married over 5 years were clearly miserabe and it made me very cynical for a long time, but they proved me wrong.
But now for the fuckup: long story short, I've been making her feel left out of our slightly expanded friendship circle, which now includes more military members from our workplace. I think it's hard to watch her husband bond so quickly with a bunch of military people, not just me, but especially me because I'm female, over a culture that she's not part of (she's civilian) and has a hard time understanding at all. And I don't blame her because I know exactly how she feels, because I too have felt like the oddball alien on the other side of a one-way mirror for most of my life, whose friends would always be "poached" by outsiders (from my younger perspective). I'm ashamed I didn't see it sooner; I was giddy with the thought we were a band of socially awkward misfits that had formed our own little oddball family. I was blind to the real situation and 100% should have been more mindful. But also here's another thing, I didn't know what more I could do to help the situation, and while both of them reassured me that I was not the problem, that the problem was merely a bout of hard times and struggles to connect with the surrounding world, I found out later that I am indeed the problem, and mostly for the fact that I am female. One of the lessons my family always taught me growing up was to never get between a couple and leave ASAP if you become a problem, and they would reaffirm that in this situation.
So I did. And it's been the hardest thing I've done. I know I'm one of the few friends either of them has, what with everyone else having kids or moving, and they were my only friends as I now supervise my other old friends or they've changed and find little space for me in their lives. I've spent the last week crying myself to sleep each night, which is impressive because the past 5 years I've had a lot of trouble crying, even when severely depressed, and I hadn't cried for over 8 months. I think I did the right thing, but it feels like half of my soul is being torn out; I am in so much emotional pain. As I know they are too because this has got to be even harder for them. But I can't change being female or being military, and my continued presence would be a hindrance and distraction to their healing and to the health of their marriage. She doesn't know the real reason I've pulled away, because that would just hinder her further. And so they've taught me one last valuable life lesson: men and women can't be friends because while there might not be any romantic entanglement, there will always be conflict. I was foolish and naive. I'll get over myself. I just needed to tell someon.
Note: please no mean comments about either of them; they're literally the best people I know.

2023.06.07 05:12 Shiro243 Modern controls from the perspective of a newbie
So for context, I have basically no experience in a FG, maybe 5-10 hours here and there on other games, but functionally none, especially online. I do have experience with other genres in regards to execution and combos (eg. DMCV ect).
I went into SF6 with the intention of playing on Classic, since I generally don't like auto-combo systems, and I wanted to learn the game "the real way".
To be clear, I am trash and that's okay. I will pick up fundamentals over time, my footies, my pokes, my spacing, how to block, ect that is fine. I cannot do command inputs. I just physically do not get it, I can do them occasionally, but especially in regards to cancels and supers ect, I just cannot. I know about buffing, and "easier ways" to do inputs, i know this is scrub talk, espeically as someone on pad, i know tournament level players exist that use pad, the pad is not the problem, but I'm coming at it with 20 hours experience vs most people's 10-20 years. It's just an insufferable experience, trying to do it, and it was affecting my enjoyment considerably, which wasn't the case for everything else I'm learning, and any matches I'm losing.
So I decided, I would check out Modern, and was more surprised at how functionally similar it was, minus inputs. For starters, inputs are still there. You still have to do Chun-Li stance input, there's no easy form of that, and there are other examples for everyone else. In addition, most of the combo trials are actually identical, in terms of the combo they want you to pull off, and they all have the same position and frame timing as Classic. This is again, something I will just pick up overtime.
But I don't have to do the command inputs, so functionally I am learning the same thing as everyone else on Classic, its just im not doing inputs that i cannot seem to imorove on. I've been playing Kimberly, and i did most of her Intermediate combo trials, and i did lab and figure out which moves i can cancel, and gross setups. Im making good use of her Medium Kick, which is on Modern, it's just the first hit of her Medium Assisted combo, but functionally you use it the same way, to hit confirm, and cancel into a Drive Rush, or Vagabond, or bait out a Drive Impact.
This is stuff I've picked up on my own, or through videos of people using Classic controls, and functionally I can what they're doing (personal skill aside). Maybe there are some obscure combo routes here and there I cannot, but that is far beyond my reach anyway.
In fact as someone who, as I mentioned, doesn't like Auto-Combo systems, you can do the exact same combos manually, the first 1-2 hits of the assisted combos, are just normals, eg. Kimberlys Standing MK, is just first hit of Assist + M, and has the exact same properties and functions that as you would in Classic. But here's the problem I'm having.
The assisted combos do more damage.
I can do the exact same combo manually on Modern, but it will do less damage than the automatic one. As result, a good number of my matches, where I'm avoiding being a 1-button hit confirm using auto-combos, I feel significantly weaker, despite my extra effort to learn the actually combos.
I can spend a level 3 and 2 ODs, on a combo i figured out and mixed with others i saw, and maybe get 40%
I think this is generally where alot of issues towards Modern are coming from, because again, my experience playing the game is its functionally the same, minus the inputs. Do I think that should mean less damage? Idk, maybe.
But I do think that it feels awful to make an effort to learn the game and do all the combos manually, and do the exact same thing as a Classic player would, input aside, only for it to be less profitable than hitting 1 button over and over.

2023.06.07 05:11 ALittleCuriousSub Hades, Soundfall, Risk of Rain 2, type suggestions?
Love Hades and have no general complaints about it other than Hades II isn't out yet. One difference I would like from Hades however is more class differentiation. It's a great game I wouldn't wanna change it, but I'd **LOVE** to play a game that had like Risk of Rain 2 classes with a more robust development and options along with a flushed out story. Soundfall is a great example of *almost* being there. Ideally one where I don't have to attack on beat but the twin stick movement is fun in and of itself and the combat is engaging and fun.
Ember Knights I already beat whats out. Have the other games I discussed too.

2023.06.07 05:11 TheGuitarHero333 What is this shrub/tree? Info within.
| Hardiness level -35 to -45, north central MN. These curious guys have been noteworthy to me and my disc golfing buddies because 1) they only exist on one hole and 2) their branches are covered in visible and sturdy thorns. What really caught my attention was that they were flowering last weekend (right image). Not only was the smell thick and lovely, but we could now see that the canopy on this hole was also covered in these flowers. This is interesting because, not only did we just assume these were short shrubs, but the trees that the canopies connect to seem like entirely different plants with rough bark texture and no thorns (left picture). It seems weird that they'd be hybridized either naturally or purposefully. submitted by TheGuitarHero333 to whatsthisplant [link] [comments] |
2023.06.07 05:11 FlatProof791 I mean, no? But you do you I guess
2023.06.07 05:10 polysnip Alright! We've got a saying in the Ottoman Army!
"We are not above shooting our own guys."
Just want to make that clear. Abdul, I know Aman and Mustafa were your friends, but given the opportunity they would have done the same thing you did! Now, when we have line infantry going toe to toe with our Israelites and Desert Warriors, my money's gonna be on the other guy because let's face it: we suck infantry wise. We can't always count on the Janissaries to come save the day now, can we?
So, when we see your buddies going in there to melee with the enemy, bayonets fixed and duking it out in front of your line, you gotta shoot. Maybe you'll miss your buddy, maybe he'll get his too, but as long as there's a chance that you'll hit somebody else it's worth the dice roll.
Just be thankful we're more conservative on the artillery. I mean, Jesus Christ, those organ guns will shred a whole platoon to bits! Better to make more of those shots count, BUT it's no guarantee that you won't be in front of their target.
So anyway, there's no way we can stand toe to toe with modernized western infantry yet! Therefore, we need to utilize our firepower more than our man power, and if a few of our own get in the way then know it's all part of a higher plan.
Happy Hunting. Long live the Sultan, and Allahu Akbar.

2023.06.07 05:10 kashimashii Neighbor harassing/sabotaging me for seemingly no reason?
I lived in my one room mansion for almost a year now, although I was on a vacation for 5 of those months.
last month I noticed I wasnt getting my rent bills anymore. then I got 3 at the same time from the previous months. Not an issue because I can just transfer the money without the bill itself but rather peculiar. Like someone had been holding back my mail.
Today I go to retrieve my bicycle and I notice the tire is flat and the cap is removed. Not a big issue, takes like 2 minutes to fill it with air again but clearly, that is targeted harassment. my neighbours bicycle wasnt messed with and its closer to the street. This is just a small thing but I assume this will become bigger because I have no idea what I am "doing wrong" in someones eyes so they will probably do more things.
I have no idea why someone would harass me. I dont bother anyone AFAIK, I make no noise/music, I take out the trash at the correct times, I dont litter.
I have no enemies either afaik. Besides my neighbours I dont interact with anyone in the street.
I have 3 neighbours, 2 japanese women my age and a korean one. I run into one japanese lady and the korean one occasionally and theyre polite and try to make small talk, especially the korean one really wants to chat, but her accent is very thick and my japanese isnt great so I only understand about 10% of what she says. I just have an excuse to leave everytime she tries to make small talk. Recently she just says hi and doesnt try to talk anymore. The other neighbour leaves for months at a time (I can tell because her mailbox will be overflowing). I ran into her once and she didnt say anything.
2 obasans from the store next to my house.
I shopped there twice but they seemed frustrated/offended by my lackluster Japanese skills so I never went there again. They werent rude but the disapproval was clear. Occasionally they give me slightly mean stares. Like not full on mad/angry but they look slightly displeased/disapproving when they see me come home. They are the only people who seem to clearly express some sort of dislike towards me.
restaurant across the street
I dont go there but the girls who face the street always stare at me when I leave or come home. Not in a rude manner, their expression is neutral or happy. I unfortunately dont like the food they serve so I never go there. The guys who own the store dont look at me at all, but I mention this because I know some guys get jealous if you get any sort of female attention.
Personally I think its either the Korean neighbor or the obasans, but you never know with these type of things.
Should I put up a sign that says something like "if there's a problem leave a note so we can find a solution"
I REALLY dont want any problems, but if they dont even drop a note of what bothers them I have no idea on how to solve this.
tl;dr possibly someone holding back my mail and letting air out of my bicycle tires for seemingly no reason, how to fix?

2023.06.07 05:10 Opening_Title2524 i (16f) would love advice on how to help my alcoholic sister (20f)
her and me are very close but she unfortunately doesn’t have any friends so she tends to rely on me for comfort, and it’s getting to the point i can not help. she will call me crying, drunk, and it’ll be really late at night. this happens multi times a week. if i fail to comfort her, she will get very angry, threatens to khs, telling me i’m a bad sister, and that she’s gonna drop me to focus on herself. the next morning she will call me acting like nothing happened. she will also not let me end the call whenever she is saying these mean things, bc her “boundary” is that i can’t end the call till her and me are on good terms. it’s exhausting and so hard to become good with someone again after they said such rude things less than 30 mins ago. she won’t fully open up to her bf about her issues bc she doesn’t want to scare him away. i’m tired and i can’t handle her shit alone, i wish she just had one friend. it’s fucking up my mental health because i feel like shit if i can’t help her. she’s admitted to being an alcoholic, which ik is like the first step to getting sober but it doesn’t seem like she has any interest in quitting. i’ve tried to set boundaries like we can’t talk if she’s drunk, but also ending the call on her while she’s threatening to hurt herself and super drunk makes me very scared. i just don’t even know what to do, she treats my advice like a joke bc i’m younger than her, and barley lets me even talk when we do call and when i do she says i’m talking over her. i’m so stuck and confused on what to do, i’ve talked to my mom and she also doesn’t know, my sister doesn’t live at home so my mom doesn’t have much control over her. my sister has gone thru a lot of trauma which i think is why she tends to drink sm, plus genetics, theirs a lot of addicts in my family. her past, genes, and no interest in getting better is making it impossible on ever getting sober. before you say it’s not my responsibility to help or wtv, i know, but i want too. she’s helped me a lot and i care about her. she’s a good person, just also a very mean/sad drunk. sorry if any grammar or spelling is wrong

2023.06.07 05:09 LetmeTry_reddit Limited Feedback and Tipping Options on Lyft App - An Inconvenience for Users
I recently had a ride with Lyft, and I wanted to share my experience regarding their feedback and tipping system. When I tried to review the ride and tip the driver a few days later, I was surprised to find that the Lyft app didn't allow me to write a review or rate the driver. It's frustrating when you want to provide feedback and show appreciation, but you're unable to do so.
What's more disappointing is the lack of flexibility in tipping options. Lyft only offers pre-set tiers of 15%, 20%, or 25%. There's no "custom tip" option available, meaning you can't choose your own tip amount. As customers, we should have the freedom to tip as we see fit.
I believe Lyft should address these issues and provide users with the ability to write reviews, rate drivers, and give custom tips. Having these options would greatly improve the overall user experience and allow us to express our gratitude to deserving drivers.
Let's hope Lyft takes this feedback into consideration and makes the necessary improvements. Have any of you faced similar issues with the Lyft app? Share your thoughts!
PS: This was just based on my experience. This feature could be available somewhere hidden in the app, but it was not straightforward.

2023.06.07 05:09 cheater00 Devs: Can we get better Steam Deck trackpad support please?
Hi devs, I really love playing the remake on my Steam Deck, but there's just one thing that I think could be done much better. That's the use of the right trackpad. So let me describe a few situations where things aren't as good as they could be. Then I'll propose something you could talk to Valve about to make the life of gamers playing your game - and possibly other games as well - much better.
The problem
The trackpad is great for precision input, but there are two places I would like to use it and they're not really compatible with each other:
- the inventory system
- fine aiming
I normally move and aim using the right stick, but I'd like to be able to do fine aiming using the trackpad. OK, that can be done using the "As Mouse" setting in the Steam Controller options for the game. I can do fine aiming now using the right trackpad.
Now let's talk about the inventory view. "As Mouse" kiiiinda works but it's not great. You run out of space on the trackpad and have to lift your finger to keep moving the cursor, and this means eg you can't drag items around the inventory very well by pressing on the trackpad (to click the mouse) and then dragging. On the other hand, the inventory works great with the "Mouse Region" mode for the trackpad. So instead of "As Mouse" you set "Mouse Region" in the Steam Controller settings. At that point, basically the trackpad maps to the screen 1:1, and the cursor is always guaranteed to be able to cover the whole screen in one move. No more raising your thumb. You always know where your cursor ends up on the interface. However, if you try aiming with this mode enabled, the game just goes crazy, spinning around wildly.
The proposed solution
Steam Controller has something called mode shifts, which is basically, you press a button, and your controller cycles through one of many configurations stored for the game. However, System Shock already uses absolutely all the buttons I got on the Deck including the back paddles, plus having to press a button every time you enteexit the inventory sounds like a stupid and annoying thing to have to do. I know it's a tall order, but maybe you guys could get in touch with Valve for some way where the game could inform the steam controller layer, so that it can shift modes automatically? So when you are in the first person view, the steam controller is in one mode, and when you're in the inventory, the steam controller is in another mode.
This would be absolutely great and it would make playing your game on the Deck just soooooooo much better. As it is right now, it's a bit of a chore sometimes, because either the inventory interface is kind of busted, or I don't have good fine aim.
I hope you can take this to Valve and talk to them about it. This would be absolutely great. I know they really like to support lots of interesting new stuff on the Deck, so who knows, maybe this could become a thing.
The implementation of the solution
Technically, I would imagine the game registers with a Steam API by using some sort of config file in the game directory that defines modes the game itself will identify to steam automatically during the gameplay. So you'd have eg steamcontroller.cfg next to the executable, and inside it the following contents:
[ModeShifts] FirstPersonView Inventory Cyberspace
This cfg would be a text file and it would be read by the Steam client, and would populate the Steam Controller config with these two mode shifts. So now, if you go to the Steam Controller settings page, you have two mode shifts pre-populated, and you can edit them separately.
In the game, when one of these UI modes gets selected in the game by any means, the game hooks into some dll, say SteamController.dll that's provided by Valve/Steam, and calls AnnounceModeShift("FirstPersonView") etc, with a C string that's up to 4096 characters long.
If a mode shift by the name you announce doesn't exist in Steam Controller config, nothing should happen. But if it does, then that mode shift should be selected.
This would be super useful for games like System Shock and quite honestly I would love to see something like this happen.
I tried to keep this idea as simple as possible: almost all the work is done by Steam Controller already and you'd have to add a few function calls here and there, but implementing such an interface should be really easy for you guys on your end. I'm a programmer and I tried to keep it so simple to where I can't imagine it taking a lot of time if such an API was provided by Valve. And on the other hand it would seem like the design should be fairly simple to implement for Valve as well, even if they would have to do a bunch of work with scanning for the file and exposing an API.
Another use for auto mode shift would be for scrolling emails. Currently I don't really know of any way to scroll them, so I bound scroll wheel up and down to the left trackpad. I set the left trackpad "as dpad", and have "dpad up" and "dpad down" set to the scroll wheel. I position the cursor over the email using the right trackpad, and then I can scroll with the left trackpad. I have it set to auto-repeat using the "turbo" function so the longer I hold it the more it scrolls, I don't have to press it repeatedly.
However, in the first person view, I'd like to use the left trackpad for leaning. So dpad left would lean left and dpad right (on the trackpad) would lean right. And at that point I don't need want scroll wheel bound to "up" and "down" because if I somehow manage to hit a diagonal (happens often) then the turbo-button-scrollwheel switches me to a random gun and it sucks.
So that's two ways I could have mode shifts help in the game.
I can imagine some people would like a different controller configuration for the cyber space as well, so that would be another mode shift.
I hope this isn't too long to read and I hope this is motivated well enough for you guys to take some time out of your already obviously very busy schedule.
The game, as it stands, is a real masterpiece, and given that one of its more important selling points is that it improves on the controls of the OG, I hope you can take the extra step or two and talk to Valve about improving the controls for the Steam Deck as well. And I think if you had this brand new input feature on the Deck, then everyone who has a deck would be sure to snap it up just to try it out.
The feature could very likely be backported to older games by modders as well: people could hook into the exe's and figure out when certain UIs show up, and have hooked-in code call AnnounceModeShift(). So at this point, not just System Shock benefits, but eventually every game that modders mod or that the devs update. So the more reason for Valve to try and provide such a feature. Plus I'm pretty sure if you guys reach out to them they'll take you seriously.
Thanks a lot for reading!
