2023.06.02 13:41 IdleExpatter My dog loves/hates the Great Fairies
This happened in Breath of the Wild, too, but something about the Great Fairies activates my otherwise pretty sedate dog.
I don't know if it's the splashing sound, the voice, the animation, or what, but every time one appears, poor Lup goes nuts. Leaps to her feet, stares at the screen, whines, rockets around looking for her toys to...I don't know what the point of getting the toys is, really, but she's gotta go get 'em!
Anybody else's pets go crazy for this game?

2023.06.02 13:38 redicu_liz UK jury service
I've seen the odd post about this already but thought I'd ask again!
Any advice on jury service with ADHD? I was initially excited as law and crime is something that really interests me. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and I'm now medicated. I was starting to feel anxious and I couldn't figure out why, then I realized I'm going to have to be still and pay attention for hours with maybe 3 breaks over an 8 hour day. After an hour at school or uni I'd usually be on the verge of falling asleep, zoned out or fidgeting. I'm due at the court for the "debrief" next week and realizing more and more the stress this entails. I doubt I could take a fidget toy, I doubt I could be stimming (sips of water, changing how I sit, looking around all the time, biting my nails ext) and not be a distraction.
This makes me sad but the more I think about it the more I'm like....shit why would I put myself through this every day for a minimum of 2 weeks....
TLDR: I have combined ADHD and been called for jury service, what should I do?

2023.06.02 13:37 fish-with-arms Panic coping skills that work for me :)
Just a warning this will be a pretty long post :)) you’re welcome to skip to the tips if you don’t want to read it all!
Hi! i’m F20 and have had panic disorder badly for about three years with the worst of it in 2022, i had panic attacks basically daily and when i wasn’t panicking i was anxious and on edge. My Panic disorder is treatment resistant too which made finding coping skills even harder.
I wanted to share what’s been working for me as i definitely got super sick of hearing “take a deep breath” or “find 5 blue things” (totally fine if those work for you! they just don’t work for me). I’m not at all fully recovered but i think i can handle my panic pretty well now and it’s become more of an inconvenience rather than something horrible and terrifying.
- Firstly and in my opinion most importantly: EDUCATE YOURSELF ON PANIC ATTACKS!!!! i genuinely cannot stress this enough, it was a game changer! i get my information from www.anxietycentre.com , in particular the “anxiety and panic attack symptoms” section. This took away so much fear and uncertainty for me and decreased the severity of my attacks too because i knew i wasn’t dying.
- Make a routine for yourself for when a panic attack does happen! with panic disorder it’s inevitable that we will have panic attacks, instead of hope you don’t have one i think it’s important to put that energy into making the attacks bearable! My routine is to get comfy in bed and ready with youtube in the background. You could also include safety items like fidget toys or meds or anything like that :)
- Sorting out your mindset, i know it’s so easy and normal to feel super down and hopeless with this disorder especially when you loose a lot of freedom but i think it’s really important to have a good mindset with this sort of thing. I don’t mean completely reject feeling bad or sad or hopeless ever BUT i think it’s important to give yourself credit for being so brave and surviving through this awful thing! Self compassion goes a long long way and i personally think feeling miserable and shitty all the time makes dealing with panic disorder even worse. Treat yourself how you would a child or friend who’s experiencing the same thing, give yourself love and kindness!
- Medication, i know some people want to avoid meds and i completely respect that but for those of you who are open to them read on! I’m on 30mg of mirtazapine and also working up to 10mg of propranolol and omg, biggest game changer!!!! i’m not completely cured and i do still have panic and anxiety often BUT it’s sooooo much more manageable now ! my attacks last like 1 hour max and are so mild in comparison to my old ones! I really struggle with a medication phobia but working up to the full dose super slowly is super helpful, i start with a quarter and go up from there :)
- Counting, this sounds a little silly but when i’m panicking i close my eyes and i just count in my head as high as i can (my record is 1000) it genuinely stops my panic in it’s tracks sometimes! i’ll sometimes even fall asleep and when i wake up i’m okay again (most of my panic is at night)
- Lastly, don’t feel bad! don’t feel bad if you’re not ready to begin your recovery journey, don’t feel bad if you relapse on bad habits, don’t feel bad if you thought you were better and then feel you’re back to square one AND most importantly DONT FEEL BAD FOR REACHING OUT FOR HELP!!! weather help is a family member, psychologist or the ER!!
Hopefully these tips can help a little, you’re not alone in your struggles and this won’t be your new forever, i promise :)

2023.06.02 13:35 Annual_Commercial111 Is there a 110 card in there?
2023.06.02 13:33 Darth_Cosby Office cost versus revenue?
We’re a service based business that operates remote support and looking at moving space and I’m trying to get an idea of what % of revenue other businesses spend on rent.
Info:
We’re a small business that has been aggressively expanding to the point that revenues are about $8-9M per year and we are growing out of the building that we have been in for the past 10 years.
We started in a single 2 office suite and now have the entire (small) building but my rent is so low, and we’re packed so tightly that my office lease compared to gross revenue is less than 1%. We currently pay about $60k per year for about 5k square feet. I need more space and honestly want to reward my team by being way less packed in. We’re in an expensive real estate market but not SF or NY luckily.
We have always managed very regular growth 15-22% with it speeding up in recent years due to nailing down some high profile relationships. That sales channel is really kicking into high gear now and I think we’re well positioned for our service/targeted markets . In fact, it has been going so well that the partnering groups are actively, without me pushing it, recommending us to similar groups. So there are potential big opportunities on the horizon but I don’t like to count on anything before there’s a signed agreement.
To be really blunt, the high profile group that we started working with a few years ago normally does site visits before signing and I think we benefitted from Covid restrictions because they couldn’t do a site visit that I think would have made them thinking of us as a less legitimate option. Since we’ve really grown, I think there’s marginal benefit in looking at a bit more polished. I’m not one hung up on appearances I still drive a beater and have a lot of the personal spending habits leftover from barely being able to pay for my post grad education.
Currently I’m looking at leases and sub-leases with a broker that are 2-3x our current square footage. Because the area we are in is still a reasonably competitive market even in this climate for commercial real estate some of the building in a similar $/sqft are either completely dumpy just unimaginably nice compared to where we are at. At 2x my current sq/ft I’m seeing a lot to be desired, but at 3x it seems like there are great deals but I’m looking at increasing costs from $60k per year to about $220k. Even with my aggressive wage growth for current employees and hiring plans, I can afford it in this years growth so while profits won’t increase much, they should more than cover expansion. I underestimated growth last year so I feel like the hiring is 100% necessary to the sanity of my teams.
It just feels insane to consider that cost, but I do feel like we have a very healthy office culture that being in person (hybrid) has supported well.
Any advice for someone without a lot of experience here who is doubting theirselves?

2023.06.02 13:33 AZBeardBoy20 Hello! New Belgian Malinois owner here.
I recently adopted a 10month old boy I've named Rudy from the pound and since ive brought him into my home I've bought a handful of toys for him but he doesn't seem interested in any of them except for a viking plush that he chews on before bed which is fine but He doesn't seem interested in playing fetch with anything I throw (including the viking) or playing Tug of War, with some of my past dogs they normally leaned towards one or the other but never completely disinterested in both. So that brings my to my question. Is this common with this breed? And do you have any recommendations? I'm looking for something we can do besides training to not only strengthen my bond with my dog but also burn off some of his extra energy. So far, I've been taking him on walks, but it is not enough to fully tire him out.

2023.06.02 13:31 NexexUmbraRs Construction update idea: Armory and expansion of storage
Reposting because a couple months have passed and I've seen discussion on it in other posts:
One of the main reasons for construction in the game is storing items. Everything from clue items, armor sets, to toys. But for a long time the skill has been completely lackluster and devoid of true purpose in this game. Short of a rework which I hope will be included in the 2022 roadmap, I would like to see an update similar to how the aquarium was released, but with more use for storage. Many of you may think that we have enough bank space to play the game and you're right, but the use of more storage will be to give collectors, the feeling you get when you complete an achievement. Every time one of these POH storage boxes gets filled it gives a little shot of dopamine, adding more is good for the game and good for the players who are always seeking more sources for their addiction.
I am of the opinion that there should be an update to the current POH to include many new items. And if possible also create two new rooms, one called 'Armory' which would store many items that aren't really costumes, and display hall, which would be a rework of the current skill/quest halls to allow more storage per square room. This would allow us to collect many more cosmetics that are untradable, and even some that are tradable and we'd just like them not to take up our bank space.
Before any of that though some things a little out of date, for examples;-The cape rack doesn't include the new Zuk capes, it'd be nice if it included 1 of each type IN ADDITION to the kiln capes (so you can have both and not either or) -In the armor case we are unable to store different sets of castle wars armour. We should be given space to store one of each set. -Similarly it'd be nice to be able to store one of each team cape rather than just a single one. -The clue tab is lacking all the clue rewards, namely the 3a/2nd age items.-You cannot store both pants and skirts
Moving onto the armory here's a small compellation of items I have off the top of my head that we have little to no use for in an end game's bank but would be fun to collect.
Weapons rack: - Ceremonial swords: Currently there are a total of 50 ceremonial swords, all purely cosmetic versions of iron->rune swords. It'd be nice to be able to collect these and not waste 50 bank spaces!
- Necromancer's staves: There are currently 18 different skeletal and necromancy staves.
- Limitless staves: There are 7 limitless staves, similar to other clue items they should be storable in the POH.
- Penance trident: Reward from Barbarian assault, but nobody would buy it. We already have the other penance gear in the armor case so why is this being excluded?
- Greater Runic staff: Maybe some irons still use this? I'm unsure if it's still part of new iron journeys or not. But it'd be nice to be included.
- God staves: We already have the capes on the cape rack.
- Staff of Armadyl/Camel staff: Two difficult to obtain items, which would be nice to have in storage.
- Staff of light/Ancient staff: There are a bunch of loyalty point recolors for both of these items, similar to the Robin hat and top hat which both have space to store one of each.
- Mage Training arena weapons: We have Infinity in our magic wardrobe, it'd be nice to also store one of each wand/book.
- Demon slayer crossbows: No real use, we have the demon hunter set already in the armor case.
- Ivandis flail
- Dung weapons chaotic/gravite
- Ports weapons: We already have the armor
Armor case: - Achto: We can store port armor but not Achto?
- GWD1 gear: Non degradable, why not?
- GWD2 gear: would be nice to collect
- Slayer mask and it's components
- T85 tank boots/gloves:
No real use nowadays, would be nice to have them in the bank. Also having t90 boots alongside would fun. - Gemstone outfit
- Dragonstone armor
- Spirit shields
- Attuned crystal armor
Other random items: - Flippers
- Mudskipper hat
- Gnome scarf/Goggles: Would be neat to have these in our costume room fancy dress box
- Crab helmet
- Crab claw, Crabclaw and hook, and Pirate's hook
- Pogo stick
- Robin, Treasure map, Pinata's, etc
- Task set
- Jewelry box to hold ASR, Vigour, DKS rings and their upgrades, Lotd, blood necklace set, Dungeoneering necklaces, Dragon rider amulet, Shark necklace, Leviathan ring, Seren's symbol just to name a few.
- Scriptures need to be added to the bookshelves
- Book of death should be added to the bookshelf
- BA insignia's should be added somewhere
- Blood essence ^
Finally I think it'd be amazing if we could have a display hall. These can be single rooms chained together to make a hall displaying many things in the game, from armor sets (for example the wilderness armor), to heads mounted on the wall (the skill hall/quest hall aren't really enough to display everything.
Extra idea from u/
J00stie to allow us to store partial set pieces rather than require the entire set. And to build off of his idea it'd be nice to store multiples as well, so instead of having a giant clue tab taking up hundreds of spaces, you can just have them all in your poh.

2023.06.02 13:28 Nena_Trinity Copyright for fictional characters is a mess, need some help. ☺️
Okay so company A has the rights for...
While company B has rights for...
- Merchandise
- Any on screen appearances
However then company B makes new versions of the characters with new design and these gets featured in a new show, a free game and books.
So to my understanding the reboot designs company A has less rights for however still HAS the rights to prevent others to make toys, one exception was given but one previous was rejected in said time. (the rejection was for let's say Funko pops, the game could also have been a exception)
So forward to now if company B were to do a collab with a game company? Would that count as a game or as on screen appearance?
To my understanding the rights was from the 80s at which times video games were not as common as now?

2023.06.02 13:25 sakurapup NYC stores
New member in this community but have worked for TJ’s for a while. Was planning on attending a college in NY and was wondering before I went through the hassle of even planning for a transfer if the culture of NYC stores are drastically different. I understand that NYC is intense and have lived there for a few years before, but I was wondering if the mates at New York stores are supportive and if the crew is equally cared for in those stores comparatively to others. Any input is helpful!

2023.06.02 13:23 tinybutvicious How to Maximize Leave in the USA
Mods, remove if this isn’t appropriate. Note, nothing contained here is legal advice.
While the US does not have paid parental leave (but we do have FREEDOM! 🙄) there are ways to maximize what’s available to you.
Depending on your state law, you may have short term disability available to recover from birth and state parental leave for bonding. These types of leave are generally paid, albeit at a set amount or percentage of your salary capped at a specific amount.
In states that offer these leaves, the usual practice is that your job can allow you to use any accrued PTO receive your entire salary but cannot require you to do so.
You’re also entitled to FMLA leave, which is job protected but unpaid. Since it is unpaid, it generally runs concurrently with other types of leave.
Example: if you were maximizing leave in NY, and had a vaginal birth, you would do 6 weeks of short term disability plus 12 weeks of paid family leave for a total of 18 weeks. At the end, you’d also have run out of your FMLA because it would run at the same time as 12 of those weeks.
Please note that job provided leave also works with all of this but the above is discussing only legally mandated leaves.
Happy to answer questions but NOT give legal advice.
