Fed ex jobs

I’ve been working for a family business for my whole working life. The company is dissolving and I have no idea what jobs to even apply for. The majority of my job roles where handling the finances for the company, but also some sales. Here’s what I do: budgeting/forecasting, keeping tract of the money coming in and going out and ensuring it’s accurate on both ends, assisting in paying taxes (fed and state), record keeping, customer service, sales. My degree is in something completely unrelated to finance, accounting or sales. Can anyone give me some insight to what roles I should be applying for within finance and what expected salary ranges would be? I feel so screwed.

My husband was caught texting a co-worker over a month ago. He immediately quit his job and started intensely going to therapy and counseling (bipolar 2 and ADHD). But in the last couple weeks, it’s like he thinks everything is back to normal. He isn’t “actively” going to therapy every week. He has not found us a marriage counselor and doesn’t even seem to be searching. He started a new job. He hasn’t shared anything about it or the people he works with. He knows his phone is my trigger, yet he still doesn’t seem to understand that I want to know everytime his phone goes off and who it is. I mean, I think I deserve that atleast, for the time being… I don’t trust him. I don’t believe a word that comes out of his mouth. Nothing! He is a literal pathological liar. I grew up with a bipolar mother and I have always been super supportive of his diagnosis, medication trials, mood swings, etc… I am a very understanding wife. Probably to a fault. He has been caught texting his ex wife in the past, and now she’s blocked so I do all communication regarding the children. He cannot be trusted. But I LOVE HIM! I love what he/we used to be. We had sex last night, and I couldn’t even climax because I just don’t think I am what he wants anymore. I feel like he’s only with me to not go through the hassle of divorce and all that comes with it. I don’t know what to do or how to bring my self confidence back. And I don’t know what more to tell him to get the support I need from him. I should not have to hold his hand through this process but I feel that’s all I’ve been doing.

These are not in order.
1- When young Smurf tried to make young Baz jealous by going into a room with one of the young guys he invited to that party. I know he was not her son, but I genuinely wanted to puke. She was unbelievable!
2- When Smurf was checking on J whether he was sexually satisfied and whether his gf is doing what he likes in the bedroom. I was like WTF are you guna do about it, GRANDMA?!
3- When Smurf told the stranger teenager who found her daughter shaking and sweating after doing drugs for the first time on the beach where she could've died to go talk to someone who cared and simply hung up. I know she is a fictional character but did that woman care about anybody ever?!
4- When Julia yelled at young Baz: so that's it?! after he saw her pregnant for the first time and he said nothing and left.
5- EVERY SCENE of Baz with Lina after her mom died
6- Baz killing scene. I just hated that she killed him off. A part of me didn't expect that even Smurf could stoop so low
7- When J killed the lawyer, I was like this boy is too evil man!
8- When J killed that poor secretary, again, TOO EVIL! he literally didn't have to, he was fleeing the country with a fake passport man, you could've just left her be
9- When Smurf told Pope to kill Cath
10- When Pope killed Cath, funnily enough I was feeling bad for Pope as much as for Cath. Smurf fucked him up too bad, man
11- When Amy was kicking Pope out while he confessed to her that he killed Cath because he was feeling guilty and she kept giving him hope that all sins are forgivable, yet not his sin. It was heart breaking how guilty he felt and how much he wanted to repent.
12- When monster Baz told Pope who would wanna have a kid with you. Literally broke my heart for him
13- When Pope kept repeating to Baz that he wasn't a weirdo, knowing that Baz always thought he was the normal son Smurf didn't have, for Baz to get away with the job and for Pope to be the one getting caught after. One thing I hated passionately about Baz is something Smurf said, he always thought he was smarter than he really was. Even when his own brothers kept calling him smart I was like NO HE'S NOT SHIT lol I just wish he was the one getting caught then, Pope WAS WAY SMARTER than Baz was ever guna be
14- When Lucy went right away to steal Baz's suitcases while he was fighting for his life in that OR. What a bitch, that's all I could say every time she claimed she loved him after he died.
15- When Andrew was actually relieved to be talked to by a professional after his psych eval, and for selfish J to snitch him out of there just before he gets to be talked to again (I know Andrew could've spilled everything then which as guna be harmful for everyone) but that's something I could never get over with Pope, if only he could talk to someone when he started needing to, I just know he would've turned out to be way less problematic individual, was so sad to watch how many times Smurf made sure he never does, starting with the church and the priest, how she even sent Baz to his bible study to make sure he doesn't share too much, selfish bitch
16- When Billy was inviting Nicky to try heroine for the first time (that's what he was doing right?) I was literally yelling for her to stay away
17- When Deran said that he liked Craig high, waiting for him to fall off the wagon, made my blood boil
18- Literally when NOBODY encouraged Craig to remain clean, not even cared that he got clean. Was so sad to watch
19- Almost all Ren's scenes ever since she had the baby haha. Sucha destructive personality and awful AWFUL mom. I mean child protective services should've taken Nick from her LONG TIME AGO
20- When Pope was trying his best to be a good dad, it broke my heart, he tried so much! more than Baz was ever going to
21- When Smurf made fun of Pope taking care of Lina, doing and saying everything to make him feel like he didn't know what he was doing. That one broke my heart because its like she fed on that tactic, and always managed to make him question how capable he was without her around. Awful human being.
22- When Smurf took Pope to his family's (1. without even telling him he had one) for him to sit there all confused and irritated, then to start a shooting battle with the gang while having a death wish not caring that he was guna be a causality during, just because she believed he couldn't live without her so she simply decided he should die without even telling him. Could she be any more disgusting?!
23- Pope's confusion and embarrassment after he tried to kiss Julia and Julia looking at him like a weirdo for the first time ever which made him feel even worse, while he was living in a sick boundries-less house where his mom is getting WAY TOO COMFORTABLE around him and his ''supposedly'' adopted brother, while Julia sleeps with Baz, and then he's the weirdo?! the guy was obviously mentally challenged and nobody ever explained to him what's normal and everything around him was everything BUT, and then he's viewed as the weirdo? that was so tough to watch
24- This one was a bitter sweet one, its the episode where one call from the only girl that ever liked Pope back (Amy) put him in such a good mood that he made a whole breakfast for the skaters and wanted to sign J's non profit paper from weeks lol how he went to the restaurant beforehand because a stranger told him he had to make sure it had not so loud music, that was so heartbreaking because I knew he had so much love to give but somehow he just will never be lucky enough to get it, just like the scene when Baz yells at him for leaving flowers for Cath just because he knew Baz never gets her any and even though she didn't choose Pope he'd still be the guy who gets her flowers. So heartbreaking.
25- J not only abandoning his uncles but telling on them gutted me like no other scene in the show. We all saw it coming, him ripping their money off, but again, that kid was so spiteful that he wanted them caught, killed even. J gave me the same feelings Smurf always gave me, heartless psychopath. I know they lived in poverty in comparison, but I thought that after the time he spent amongst them, he was guna realize that they were spoiled at best, not malicious or even the reason why his mom ended up the way she did and maybe that'd be enough for him not to want them dead the way they ended up to be. What a monster, man
26- It's not a secret by now how much I loved Pope's character, so the last one shouldn't be any scene but Pope's death. It just was tragic, for him to make it out of jail and still to die at his house because of a wound was just part of Pope's continuous bad luck. It was like that man was not destined to be happy, even temporarily, I hated how worse he always had it among all the boys, I wished him a semi-normal life, with someone who genuinely cared about him till the very last episodes, I hate that he never stood a chance.

I'm not an expert on drugs, but what kind of drug could a GP receptionist secretly get hold of that after one dose, causes sickness and confusion, then nothing for a couple of days, then dramatically kicks back in three days later, and incapacitates someone for 8 weeks?
 
Also interested in the fact that OP called the police at approx 10am, and they're coming out to her at 1pm. Efficient.

I used to work with a lady who I got on very well with. She was mid 40's and I was early 50's. Both married and lived in nice areas. We had nights out just the 2 of us and in a larger group. Laughter and chat. We fell out over working overtime. I was given another 3 hours more than her. It got so nasty I found another job.
One night when we were still good friends we went out just the 2 of us. We both had a bottle of wine each. Hers white and mine rose. Meal consisted of steak, bake potato, salad and coleslaw. During the night I went to the loo leaving her on the table alone. Met a 7pm home for 10.45pm. That night I was very ill and for the next few days passing out and not remembering anything. It ended up me having lots of tests for epilepsy, brain scans as I was completely out of my mind.
Met her by chance at a party last weekend I was polite but distant. She was getting more and more drunk, louder and louder. Then all of a sudden she turned and was laughing nastily and admitted on that particular night she drugged my drink. As really she didn't want me to get any more overtime as she needed the money.
That was a friend. With a friend like that I don't need enemies.

I have contacted 101 they told me it was a serious matter. A member of the police is coming out to see me sometime today.
To answer I don't know what she drugged me with. I ended up off work for 8 weeks. Epilepsy, brain tumors and even Parkinson's was tested for. Funny enough we worked for a GP surgery as receptionists. This happened on a Friday evening but didn't get to see a GP until the Monday afternoon after I passed out while on the phone to a patient. Bloods not taken until the Tuesday morning. I have also contacted the practice manager from the surgery we worked for. It seems that she left under a cloud but the PM won't tell me why. She did say that the police could also contact her for information. I wasn't a patient at the surgery we worked at.

Thank goodness she admitted it. All these years I've wondered about my health. DH is so angry. That night he stayed up as I kept being sick, mumbling and didn't know who he was or where I was. Saturday and Sunday I was very tired but had stopped being sick. On the Monday I started at 8 am looked like death warmed up. Started to answer the phones and passed out. One of the GPs I worked for took my blood pressure which was very very low and advised to see my own GP. My GP started the ball rolling on lots of tests. Couldn't even walk straight, couldn't squeeze hands that's why brain tumors were thought of. In fact I had a complete MOT went to 4 different hospitals. 2 MRI, 2 CT scans, bloods tests every day for 2 weeks. Most of the appointments were with the main consultant as they couldn't figure it out what was wrong with me. It ended up being discharged as they couldn't find anything. I don't remember but my DH does the GP asking if I had taken drugs. Even now everything rembered is from someone telling me about that time.

Part 1

Never trust someone who can easily get themselves out of danger to protect you from it.
​
​
August 14, 2052, freshwater sources have been depleted in the Middle East. Scientists are working to find a solution amidst rising acid levels in the ocean.
​
​
"What are you looking at?"
​
​
Carlo stared up from his phone. Jerell was rummaging through the pantry for something to fix and settled on some instant pancake mix.
​
​
“Just some more news. Shit’s bad across the globe.”
​
“Yeah, there’s no getting away from it unless you’re like Glen Dalton.”
​
​
Carlo sneered.
​
​
“That greedy piece of shit. You know, the other day I read that he and some other rich fucks were designing something so that they could escape the climate crisis.”
​
“Who said that?”
​
​
Jerell put their iron skillet on the stove and turned on the heat.
​
​
“A most likely now former employee of his, but his pr team must be monitoring things twenty-four-seven. The post was taken down within minutes. Luckily, I thought to get a screengrab of it.”
​
“So what are they coming up with then? Underground bunkers?”
​
“Could be, the poster said they were eavesdropping on some meetings.”
​
​
Jerell put some mix in a bowl along with cold water and stirred as Carlo went on.
​
​
“I’ll never understand the mentality. How can they think spending the rest of their lives cooped up won’t make them insane?”
​
“Ego?”
​
“Yeah, probably. I’ve also heard that Chipotle has been closing down stores in what they refer to as nonprofitable areas.”
​
“So in other words, high crime?”
​
​
Carlo chuckled. Jerell put some batter on the skillet.
​
​
“Our location might not be far off. Maybe we should start job hunting.”
​
“Where? If they’re shutting down that means other businesses will be too.”
​
“Well, that’s another bridge to cross then. Maybe all of us should see about getting transferred.”
​
​
They had their pancakes drizzled in syrup with some cups of black coffee. When they were through eating, they brushed their teeth and then went out to the bus stop. During the ride, which was packed they had to listen to people ramble on about gas prices.
​
​
“The whole world’s gone to shit and that’s still all people seem to care about,” Carlo thought with an eye roll.
​
​
He exchanged a glance with Jerell who judging by his expression was thinking something similar. Not much had changed in the past two years other than their workload. On the plus side, they’d been making some traction with their music. It was slow, but progress nonetheless. The same could be said about Mona’s writing as well as Irene’s art.
​
​
When they reached the store, they found Mona sleeping at the back desk with her head over some papers.
​
​
“Did she spend all night here?” Jerell asked.
​
“Looks like it.”
​
​
Carlo lightly shook her shoulder. She gasped and sat up.
​
​
“Oh fuck,” she groaned, “what time is it?”
​
“A few hours until we open,” Carlo informed her.
​
​
She rubbed her temples, then opened a desk drawer, containing a Five Hour Energy. She cracked it open and downed it.
​
​
“What were you working on?” Jerell asked.
​
“Some paperwork Fred was supposed to do.”
​
“He coming in?”
​
“No, he’s on vacation, again.”
​
​
They had their work cut out for them. Irene arrived as they were about to open. The day went as usual, being busy yet monotonous. Something rare then occurred. The store slowed down. In fact, there were no customers.
​
​
“Okay, does anyone else feel freaked out right now?” Carlo asked.
​
“It is weird,” Mona agreed, “but we should just be thankful for it. By the way, I was wanting to talk to you all about something.”
​
​
When she had their attention, she went on.
​
​
“I was wondering if any of you wanted to collab?”
​
​
Jereall answered.
​
​
“I mean, we’d love to. How exactly would this work, though? I mean, me and Carlo are on music, Irene has her art, and you have your stories.”
​
“Well, I was thinking maybe I could give you guys a story to write some lyrics about, and then Irene can make some background art.”
​
​
Irene spoke up.
​
​
“I’d be up for it, but where would we find the time to put this all together?”
​
“I say we brainstorm now, then we can each work on our own parts and eventually put it all together.”
​
​
They agreed and the impromptu session began. The genre they decided on was a mix of dark fantasy and horror. They knew that they needed to get it done whatever they were making before their enthusiasm wore out. Mona would be the first to work on it, making her story. After that, she’d present it to the others so that art and a song could be made of it.
​
​
Elsewhere, trouble was brewing. Glen Dalton was not having a good day. During the past two years, he’d been having trouble quelling his workers. Sure, bribing politicians was easy enough, and so was convincing the general population of his greatness. However, getting people who were working under him to see the same view was more challenging.
​
​
Why was it so hard for them to fall in line? He’d provided jobs for them which was more than most people got these days. Not to mention, he always made sure they had long hours so they could afford to pay their expenses. Nobody was grateful. His parents worked hard to establish their empire and when it fell to him he was smart enough to hire people to help him manage.
​
​
What followed was supposed to be him enjoying his life. Instead, there was hardly anywhere he could go without encountering the parasites, be it his ingrate employees or the shoe kissers. At least he wouldn’t need to worry about dealing with them for too much longer, according to his hired researchers. In public, their opinion was the actions of his businesses and the climate crisis were in no way related. In private, they were constantly messaging him that the planet would in all likelihood not be fit for human life maybe even sooner than they were able to predict.
​
​
This had been the case for a while. Therefore, he hired engineers to work on a means of him escaping the coming disaster. It was something he intended to keep under wraps if not for one of his ex-employees. Although his social media monitors took it down almost immediately, many saw it, and the damage was done. It wasn’t his fans turning on him that he was worried about.
​
​
He knew that no matter what he did he would always have their loyalty. Rather, the more pressing concern was that the information would cause his opposers to throw caution to the wind and try to take him out along with his associates. Despite this, he was confident his people would finish things before everything reached a boiling point. For the first time that day, he allowed himself to smile. In his experience, patience paid off.
​
​
In the coming months, things would get far worse than anyone could’ve foreseen. While a lot of this could be attributed to the Dalton factories releasing gases into the air, it wasn’t something people needed to concern themselves with. No, they were more worried about who wanted to marry who or how someone chose to present themselves. Obviously, these things were far more important than the habitability of the Earth. People tended to have this ability to ignore an issue even as it stared them in the face.
​
​
However, some were fully aware of what was to come and no matter how hard they tried to get others to see it, they just wouldn’t. Others knew this was fruitless and so instead chose to prioritize their quality of life over quantity, what little they had to work with. The group that was especially good at this were artists. The reason being they possessed the unique ability to turn pain into drive. Such was the case for Mona and the others.
​
​
The project was slow to come together. When it did, it turned out better than they imagined. Mona’s story was set in another world full of gods and monsters. Someone tried to rebel against them and failed. Their punishment was an endless loop. They were sent to the deepest darkest part of the world.
​
​
Climbing out of it was possible. Unfortunately, every time they reached the top a monster controlled by the gods knocked them back down. Carlo and Jerell wrote lyrics detailing the rebel's pain, not only physical as the skin peeled to the bone with each climb but also mental of coming so close to freedom only to have it snatched away. Lastly, Irene painted the rebel on their back, haven fallen yet again and reaching a scabbed and bloodied arm toward the light. When it was all put together, they uploaded it where they could.
​
​
The reception for it was better than they expected. While there were some who did not care for it, others praised the creativity of the music and art. Mona saw more comments on her story from people who read it because of the song. It was the first and last major thing any of them would accomplish. They were okay with that.
​
​
Within the next year, things truly fell apart between natural disasters and scarcity. As mentioned, Glen Dalton had a means of escape and now was the time to use it. He was riding in his private jet. Every so often, he would glance out the window, seeing the fires of retaliation both figuratively and literally speaking. It took a while, but even his most loyal fans turned on him in the final moments, not that it mattered.
​
​
On remote islands, he and others had something worked on, ships to be exact, paid for generously with government funding. Of course, that meant he’d have to rub elbows more often with people he didn’t care for. That was a small price to pay, though. When he arrived, others were also there. It wouldn’t be long before the launch would commence.
​
​
Elsewhere, it wouldn’t be long before the rest of humanity would have to spend their final days. Most chose to do this with family and friends. Others, elected to have solitude. Mona and the others chose to spend their time left with each other and their families. They decided if they were going to go out anyway it may as well be on a happy note and so they gathered what little they possessed and threw a celebration.
​
​
The air was heavy with fumes as the rockets launched. Mona and the others were at Irene’s home, sitting together. Whatever differences divided people finally didn’t seem to matter.
​
​
​
“I don’t think it’ll be much longer,” Mona wheezed.
​
​
The end was a frightening thing and drugs helped. Among them was a bong which she took another hit from. She passed it to Carlo who lit it.
​
​
“People really enjoyed what we did,” Jerell smiled.
​
“Yeah, I just wish we could’ve done it sooner,” Irene replied.
​
“Better late than never,” Carlo said after blowing a cloud of smoke. “Still, it would’ve been nice if we had time to make something else. Can someone hand me the chips?”
​
​
With them were also snacks. The goal was to finish as much as they could.
​
​
“It’s a shame,” Carlo continued. “There’s a lot of places I wish I could’ve gone.”
​
“Jamaica?” Jerell suggested.
​
“That’s one. What about you?”
​
“I always wanted to see Japan.”
​
“Rome for me,” Irene interjected. “What about you, Mona?”
​
“The ocean.”
​
​
They were losing strength. In an effect similar to hypothermia, their minds were elsewhere. They passed away only hours later along with their families. Each one of them smiled as their imaginations made them experience their hearts’ desires. They were able to go happily. It would not be long until no living life would remain on the planet.
​
Glen Dalton and the other elites were in stasis as their ships were drifting through space. Before going into their slumbers, the ships connected to each other to form a moving city. It was powered through several means, mainly solar. Failing that, kinetic energy would also work for a while. The plan was to travel to an Earth-like planet and establish a new society. In order to manage everything, several AIs were created.
​
​
As tends to happen, however, things rarely go according to plan.
​
​

My wife’s final act, before Leukemia drained the life from her, was to buy me a Koi Pond.
She bought me a bunch of fucking fish.
I cannot begin to explain how tough it is to deal with the death of your wife of twenty-three years, and to have to keep a bunch of stupid fish alive.
But then I realized that she wanted me to have something to take care of. I realized she wanted me to have something to remember her by.
So, I did my research… because I couldn’t just let these fish and my wife die.
I cared for and adored those fish. I changed their water every two to three days. I made sure the filtration system was working efficiently. I fed them a healthy diet four times a day. I loved those damn fish.
As a high school English teacher, I don’t have a lot to keep me going. My life isn’t exactly full of meaning, but I treated those fish like the children my wife and I could never have.
Then Graduation was just around the corner, and unfortunately Senior Pranks started to happen. Some Seniors learned that I cared unrequitedly about my fish.
As a “prank,” in the middle of the night, they showed up and delicately sprinkled Miracle-Gro onto the surface of my pond.
My Koi are beautiful but unfortunately they are imperfect. They ate the fertilizer and died. I was devastated. I mean this shit really fucked me up something awful… and all the grief and anger I had suppressed came pouring out of me.
Well… kids these days are very stupid. I mean, they’re practically begging to be caught when they do stupid shit like this!
All I had to do was search “Ames, Iowa” and “Senior Prank” on Tiktok, and I found the bastards culpable for the crime. They filmed the whole thing! They were bragging about it, even laughing about what they’d done… They wouldn’t be laughing for long.
I did a little reconnaissance and figured out when these bastards were having their graduation parties. More importantly, I figured out who was making their graduation cakes!
Would you believe that one bakery in this small town was doing over 75% of the town’s graduation cakes?
Small town, huh?
All I had to do was get a part time job as a “baker’s assistant” during “the busy season” to have access to every single one of those idiot’s cakes.
You could say they made this “easy as cake” for me.
I didn’t just help make their cakes, and discreetly poison their cakes, because that wouldn’t be enough for me.
I also personally delivered their cakes, one by one.
I waited around after each delivery, and watched as the cakes were eaten.
I smiled as I watched family and friends, and more importantly the culprits themselves, eat my cakes, and start to suffocate and die…
As an English teacher there’s a term for this: poetic justice.

This and last year have been so hard to deal with, and I am struggling to do anything every single day. I want to live, I want to be okay, but nothing is okay in my life and its getting ever harder and harder to cope.
​
Last last year I broke up with my ex, which we still continue seeing each other and there is so much conflict there, hurt and lack of understanding. I was diagnosed ADHD at the beginning of this year, and was medicated which helped heaps for several months. I was later diagnosed with heart failure and since then everything in my life has declined at a pace I cannot deal with. There are days where I get symptoms of heart failure and it destroys me. I go to hospital and the person I care about most does not take it seriously. Furthermore I was effectively fired, or made redundant from my job as a result of decreased performance, and poor communication. My poor communication was me taking days off frequently as a result of my heart failure.
​
I cant be medicated with anti depressants or ADHD medication due to a risk of worsening the heart failure, or 'sudden death'.
​
I don't have the energy to talk to family. I don't want to see friends. Doing chores is near impossible. I start a new job soon, and I do not want to. I don't want to do anything.
​
I am tired of overwhelming feelings that are constant.
​
I am 21 and so tired.
