TL;DR (spoilers): You, and anyone who wants to try the challenge with you if it's a multiplayer game, are a trans ally, and your job is to collect $25,000 or the equivalent thereof in in-game money (rounded up to the next smallest divisible part) for your transgender friend's transition in less than 31 in-game years. Everything is allowed. You do not have to finish the game.
Want a new and interesting way to play your favorite videogame? I got one with a transgender theme that is interesting, challenging, easy to implement, and compatible with almost any videogame, so it's a Mario challenge, a Pokémon challenge, a Minecraft challenge, and so on and so forth, all at the same time!

The Plot

You, and anyone who wants to try the challenge with you if it's a multiplayer game, are a trans ally, and your job is to collect money to pay for your transgender friend's transition. You win by acquiring enough in-game money. You are allowed to consult the internet, use passwords from the internet, commit in-game crimes, purchase microtransactions, abuse glitches, use cheat codes, and even hack the game to reach your goal, but is it really worth the effort? You are kinda expected to use the easiest way to win the challenge that you know of.

The Rules

Rule #1: You have to get the money you need for a transition. In order to make the challenge less boring for you, I did the research for you and came to the result of $25,000. However, this value might change if you try out this challenge in the far future, meaning that this challenge technically changes depending on when you attempt it. The value is expected to rise even further with inflation, or perhaps it might be reduced with the invention of more efficient surgery techniques. If the USA ever starts getting the universal healthcare system or a societal breakdown makes these surgeries impossible, this challenge will refer to the cost of the legal name & gender change, instead. And if that also ever becomes free then just choose a different country where it isn't free yet. But this is not going to change anytime soon (When do you think this challenge will become obsolete?) so, for now, you just have to remember to collect $25,000 in in-game money. This applies to every game that uses $ for in-game money. If the game uses £ or ¥ or € or any other real-world value, you'll have to convert it. Here's an online tool for converting currencies, which also supports various cryptocurrencies and custom rate dates. If the maximum amount of in-game money you can hold at once is less then the challenge is simply impossible. This only applies to non-videogame currencies.
Rule #2: If the in-game currency is fictional then you'll have to convert it (rounded up to the next smallest divisible part). It's easy if you can buy in-game money with real money, even if that feature doesn't work because of a glitch or something. Otherwise, you'll have to do some research. If you can't find any direct information on the internet, I would suggest starting here to get a basic idea on how to calculate that. If there are multiple in-game currencies you are allowed to split the price of the transition among them in any way you want, provided you know the value of all of them. If there is no in-game currency then you are allowed to use points instead. If the game doesn't have points either then you can try to invent a substitute currency but it has to be something that would actually work as a substitute currency in the world you're in. If that's not possible either then the only way for you to win this challenge is to raise real money by doing a let's play of the game. But then you'll have to actually pay for a real trans person's transition (yourself included) or donate the money to transgender-related causes to actually win the challenge. Here's a website that lets you donate for transgender causes. If the amount of in-game money you can hold at once is less or you were unable to find out how much you need then you are also allowed to simply collect the maximum possible amount instead because games will never ask you for more money than you can hold for a single product, meaning that this would have to be the in-game prize of a transition, as transitions are always for only a single person. This only applies to videogame currencies.
Rule #3: You do not need to finish the game. All you need to do to win this challenge is to get the money somehow. Please keep in mind that the exchange rate isn't constant. The exact amount you need to win the challenge has to be enough in the moment when you have the amount. You automatically win the challenge the moment this is the case.
Rule #4: You need to get the money in less than 31 in-game years. This number was calculated by subtracting the age at which children begin to have an innate sense of their own gender (4 years) from the average lifespan of a trans person (35 years). If the game has time-travelling elements, you are allowed to use those to extend the time limit. However, it only counts if this actually involves time itself and not just the timer. The same also goes the other way around: Travelling into the future or even moving in relativistic speeds will decrease the time limit. If the time limit runs out, I hope you have a way to return back to the past later!
Rule #5: If you can choose between multiple difficulty settings, you are allowed to choose the easiest one. In fact, you are expected to. Trans people are already on hard mode and the idea of being an ally is to specifically use the possibilities given to you to help those with fewer possibilities than you. If you have the option to select an easier difficulty setting which would make it easier for you to win this challenge, use it. Even if you're already used to playing on a higher difficulty mode. Not doing so would be considered bad strategy on your part. You are allowed to choose a higher difficulty setting, but please only do so if this actually gives you some advantages, like more rewards, more levels, or faster gameplay. This challenge gives you no bonus points for selecting a higher difficulty setting.
Rule #6: Emulation, and all tricks that come with it, are explicitly allowed. Doing so might be against the law but it is explicitly not against the rules of this challenge. The reason for this is because being transgender has been illegal for a long time and still is in many states, forcing many people to break the law in order to live their lives. The police have historically targeted trans and gender non-conforming folks. Stonewall was a riot against police brutality. I am not advocating for doing anything illegal. I am, however, saying that you should never use the law to argue for the morality of anything trans-related, as doing so would be disrespectful towards a huge part of transgender history. Therefore, this rule will remain in effect even if being transgender ever becomes legal worldwide.
In order to make the challenge even less boring for you, I have started researching loads of fictional currencies and how much money you would have to collect there for this challenge so you don't have to.

The values are not guaranteed to be accurate. In fact, I have found many cases of contradictory information on the internet. But you don't care about that anyway, do you? This isn't about the exact value anyway. These are all meant to be rough estimates to give you a sense of scale.

The Motivation

I was inspired by my Pokémon Trans Ally challenge that is about collecting money for a trans person's surgery. If you actually attempt this challenge you'll see that it'll usually be a very long and tedious challenge that will require a lot of experimentation, long-term planning, and doing the same things over and over again for a very long time, especially if you wanna try this as a speedrun. If the challenge bores you out, well, that is the point! The challenge is meant to give people with little or no sense of money an impression of how much money this really is! Now, you could argue that this challenge could theoretically be used to visualize any amount of money, and you would technically be correct, but I still think that a transgender transition is one of the best matches for this challenge because:

1. A transition is always only for one person. We aren't talking about a company buying another company or a country investing in more infrastructure. This is something within the realm of a single person so it makes sense to have this be a challenge for a single person or a small group.
2. This is not a luxury item like a famous painting or a private jet. Overwhelming scientific evidence proves that this is a medical necessity that trans people require in order to live like the majority of people. It is not something you want but something you need. So you can really say that acquiring all this money is really something that they have to go through. Therefore, unless you are transgender yourself, I would really recommend you to actually play the challenge until the end, even if it takes you years to actually do so. Not for your enjoyment but to acknowledge trans people's struggles and maybe also to protest against the gatekeeping system.
3. Unlike people who regularly need medications, the transgender transition is a once-in-a-lifetime thing and is therefore compatible with a challenge that you only play through once and then never again.
4. Once your transition is over, it cannot be taken from you.
5. It is not possible to request the costs to be paid for you if you can prove that you cannot afford it, meaning the only way to get it is to actually get the money.
6. Being trans is not an illness or a disability. Trans people never did anything wrong, neither deliberately nor accidentally. They are simply born with a condition that requires them to get the money. Trans people are therefore as guilt-free as a typical videogame hero.

Do you know anything more expensive that fulfills all those criteria?

The Fun Facts

• If you collect 1,000,000 coins in Super Mario Bros. 2, you win a golden Mario statue. This is actually more money than required for the trans ally challenge!
• If payment by installments were supported by this challenge then the most cumbersome game to do this challenge in would be The Binding of Isaac, because that would require you to send at least 25,253 installments. You would have to max out your money counter every 10¾ hours on average.
• You immediately win the challenge if you try it on a game where the money you start with is already high enough. For example, in the game The Roll Ahead, you play as either Bill Gates or Steve Jobs and you start out with 35 Billion.
• In the game Anti-Monopoly, you win by losing your money. However, if you try this challenge in this game, you'll still have to gain money. This is kinda the opposite of a coinless challenge because where a coinless challenge makes positive money negative, this challenge makes negative money positive.
• Characters like the monk from Crypt of the NecroDancer, Entity from depict1, and Default Dan from Default Dan die upon touching money. Kinda makes you think, doesn't it?
• The purple coins in the Super Mario Galaxy series, the Butz in Kappa Mikey, the Glotkies in Taxi, the coins in Syobon Action, and the Rasbukniks in Li'l Abner are worth nothing.
• If World of Anime Babes was a real game then this challenge would require 1,250,000,000 tokens. As the narrator said: "Big numbers are better, right?" One way to get this money would be by selling like 1,000 in-game outfits.
• If you are playing a game taking place in the medieval time, the challenge would require you to get 411¼ medieval pennies.
• If you wanna make the monetary values more immersive, you can look at how they are depicted in the menu of microtransactions. For example, Clash of Clans groups predefined values of gems into bags, sacks, boxes, and chests that therefore represent specific amounts of gems and could therefore be regarded as higher currency units. For example, 2,500,000 gems fit into 179 chests. Sure, this won't help you with strategizing, but it will certainly make it more interesting for your audience!
• According to this article, this challenge would require you to get 129,058,751 Simeons. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to determine which franchise Simeons are from.
• The Ztars from Mario Party and the Rupoors from The Legend of Zelda are currencies that actually take money away from you, making their exchange rates negative!
• If Terrance & Phillip: Give Us Your Money was a real game then this challenge would require 10,204,200 Canadian Coins. This value was calculated under the assumption that everyone would realize that the cheapest deal is actually the best deal. One way to get this money would be by not playing the game 2,041 times. Oh good, you're already on it. But will you make it within the time limit?
• The values of LEGO Studs were calculated using the value of a human life. If you applied this logic to every game with currency units that are worth ¹⁄₁₀₀ life each then a single one of those currency units would already be enough to win this challenge and if you applied this logic to every game where 10,000 points give you an extra life then this challenge would require you to earn 32 points, but only if there isn't already an in-game currency.
• The fictional currency with the highest inflation rate I could find was in Elbonia, the rate being 1,000,000,000% daily. Despite the high time limit, I would recommend you to hurry with getting enough money there if you even can.
• The average age at the time the RTS Rise of Nations takes place in was roughly 31 years, which would reduce this challenge's time limit to 27 in-game years at most. Which would be about 2.08 real-time seconds according to estimations made by PeanutButterGamer, according to which the time limit for Diablo would be 6 in-game years and the challenge would be impossible for SimAnt.
• For obvious reasons, a society can only survive if its maximum lifespan is at least the minimum age of fertility. Due to precocious puberty, the world records for the youngest biological parents are 9 years for microgametic parents and 5 years and 7 months for macrogametic parents, meaning that the maximum lifespan of any human society must always be at least 9 years. Since 9 years are more than 4 years, it therefore follows that transgender healthcare benefits all possible human societies. Remember this if you ever attempt this challenge on a game that takes place in a society where these values are different for whatever reason, like a society of anthropomorphic animals for example.
• If the average lifespan was less than 4 years then the average lifespan of a trans person would actually be higher than the average lifespan as a whole. This is because trans people who die before the age of 4 would not be included in the statistic, due to being undetectable. If that happens, you'll have to recalculate what the statistic would be.
• Transgender surgery is older than the discovery of Pluto, modern toilet paper, chicken tikka masala, duct tape, ballpoint pens, ciabatta bread, Velcro, and Tupperware.
• The Wumpa Fruit from Crash Bandicoot are also a form of currency, as was revealed in some games. A Wumpa Fruit is worth exactly the same as a piece of gold in Skylanders. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find out what either of those are worth.
• The most valuable fictional currency that I could find was the Aqua from High Frontier 4 All, which is estimated to be a three-digit million $ amount.
• Team Kirby Clash Deluxe and Super Kirby Clash value Gem Apples differently. I based their value on Super Kirby Clash because Team Kirby Crash Deluxe only lets you purchase a maximum of 3,000 Gem Apples, meaning that Super Kirby Clash would be more practical for purchases over $29.85. Noone would accept a payment of 838 installments if a more practical way of payment is possible.
• This challenge would require 2,500,000 Nuggets in the game PokéHeroes but I didn't add it to the list because it's a fangame and I didn't wanna confuse.

I find this mechanic to be a really good idea and I would like to see it more often because it enables players to support the less fortunate without having to donate their own money. Just imagine if every game on this list gave you the option to donate $25,000 worth of in-game money which would then be donated to transgender causes and unlock the Trans Ally achievement! I know it would be very cumbersome to unlock, but completionists would definitely go for it and also, it would be done for a good cause!

Bio: Ishi Snaggletooth hails from a warren of Kobolds living in the sewers under Baldur's Gate. Always the type to be more curious than careful, she accidentally stowed away on a ship headed to Port Nyanzaru. There, she met her dear friend, the Firbolg Littlefox. Often shunned by humans, Ishi hopes to prove herself as a true hero however she can. Ishi's biggest claim to fame is the defeat of the known swordsman, Hershel Von Saberburg, and since that day she's touted herself as a renowned duelist to anyone that'll listen to her.
 
Basic Attack: Quick Strike - Ishi attacks the front-most enemy a quarter second faster than anyone else.
Gaar's Note: Ishi gets upgrades to attack 2 more enemies per Basic Attack.

Formation & Mission Information

In a Time Gate, you will be given two basic adventures and one variant to complete, along with being granted access to Free Plays. They all use a formation that holds 10 Champions. They have a Champ-specific format that I've done my best to re-create below.

While I recommend learning to build your own formations, here's a set of starter formations for brand new players to use while they get the hang of things. Anyone with other options should check that link for how to figure out how to make the best of them. You can also ask for help in the #formations channel in the official Discord.

This formation is for the first couple of runs where you're just not going to get enough Gold to get everyone on the field, let alone level people up into their power curves. At this point, Jarlaxle is focusing on being your Primary DPS while everyone else is set up to support him.
The following formation is for once your Hitch starts doing more damage than your Jarlaxle. You can find this out by pulling Asharra out of the formation and swapping Jarlaxle and Hitch around to see whose damage is better. If Hitch is higher, next run change Asharra's Spec to buff Hitch instead.

This formation should get you through the Time Gate as a new player. If you have other options or think a different DPS is geared better, try it out and see what happens! Swapping DPS around like this can help you figure out what works best for you with your specific items.
These are the rough Favor values you need to reach to make a Variant say Difficulty: Easy. Keep in mind that this is just a generic rating system and some Variants may be harder than others, even with Favor in this range.

The area goals go up by 50 each time you select a specific Champion's Time Gate and then go down by 25 each time you select someone else's. This encourages you to do Time Gates for different Champions, potentially in a rotation, rather than just grinding the same Champion's Time Gate over and over.
 
Once you've done the first two missions, you then have to complete the variant the Time Gate gave you. If you've never done any of them, you'll get one at random. If you've done one, you'll get one of the other two you haven't done before. If you've done two of them before, you're guaranteed to get the one you haven't done. If you've done all three before, you get one at random.

First Variant Option: Memory Magic

Complete: Area 75
Reward: Gold Ishi Chest & whatever Mystra's Favor you earned
Info: Two slots in your formation are affected by a magical spell causing all of the bandits to fight for the Eye of Gruumsh spellcaster. These affected slots change every 15 seconds by moving to a random adjacent slot. Heroes in affected slots must concentrate on resisting the magic, so they are unable to attack and all their Formation Abilities are disabled.
Gaar's Notes: Pretty straightforward in that you'll be down 2 random Champs at any given time. If you had an issue completing the regular adventure to 75, you'll want around e01+ more Favor per missing Champ before starting this one due to the loss.
 

Second Variant Option: Orcs Among Us

Complete: Area 125
Reward: Gold Ishi Chest & whatever Mystra's Favor you earned
Info: One, two, or three Powered-up Orc Fighters spawn randomly with each wave. They have triple health, do triple damage, they do not drop any gold, and they do not count toward any quest progress.
Gaar's Notes: Unless you're experienced, you will want to get at least e01 over the Favor shown in the chart above first so you can over-level your DPS and your front line just in case they reach you.
 

Third Variant Option: No Humans Allowed

Complete: Area 175
Reward: Gold Ishi Chest & whatever Mystra's Favor you earned
Info: Ishi has been shunned by humans too many times, and for once she just wants them to see how it feels! You cannot use Human Champions in this variant.
Gaar's Notes: Depending on how many non-human options you have to swap in, this is one of the hardest Event variants. DO NOT try this before you have at least e10 Favor if you don't have enough Champs to fill all 10 slots and good geaBlessings. If you're missing multiple slots, test it in a Free Play first using the Champs you'd have available from level 1 to see if you can complete 175 with just those. If you can't do it in Free Play, you can't do it in the variant. I completed it easily with 2e10 Gold Find but I also had all 10 slots filled.

Ahghairon's Day - Extended Edition - 1%
Complete area 175 in any "Reclaiming the Past" free play. (This achievement can only be earned during the Ahghairon's Day Event, but it can be earned in any Champion's free play.)
Multicultural Leadership - 1%
Have Ishi be your top damage dealer in a formation containing at least 7 other non-humans.
Gaar's Note: This is all about building a non-human formation around Ishi. If you don't have the Champs to do it right away, you'll just have to wait until you do.

Bio: The ranger Môrgæn is a renowned tracker and hunter, able to pinpoint-target foes at any range, then vanish into the woods with no one the wiser. Her legendary ability with the longbow and the custom arrows she crafts instills fear into the hearts of her many enemies -- and more than a few of her coworkers. Famously, she is the only member of Acquisitions Incorporated known to be paid in advance, lest a missed invoice lead to dire repercussions.
 
Basic Attack: Rapid Shot - Môrgæn shoots an arrow at a random target, then quickly follows up with a second arrow.

Ultimate: Customized Arrow - Môrgæn pulls a customized arrow from her quiver at random and fires this more powerful arrow towards her enemies.

• This ultimate can have one of three effects at random:
  
  • Skull-carved Arrow — Môrgæn's arrow rips through all enemies it hits, continuing in a straight line until it leaves the screen.
  • Smokepowder Arrow — Môrgæn's arrow explodes on the enemy it hits, dealing damage to all other enemies nearby.
  • Green-leaf Arrow — Môrgæn's arrow causes the enemy it hits to take damage over time.
• Base Ultimate Cooldown Time: 210 seconds
  

 

Interesting Abilities

Paid Up Front: Môrgæn collects 25% of the gold dropped by enemies, but in turn increases the damage of all adjacent Champions by 100%. This buff is increased by 5% for each order of magnitude of gold that she collects (stacking additively and then applying multiplicatively), with the sum persisting through resets.

• 4.60e05% after upgrades; Supported by an Item & Feats

Gaar's Note: This is the core of her kit. Order of Magnitude refers to Scientific Notation e values. So e01 is an Order of Magnitude. These are best built while doing deep Azaka Farms just by putting Môrgæn in for a few Azaka Ults when you're earning more Gold than you have previously while farming.
Friends In Wealth: Môrgæn increases the damage of all Champions by 100% for each Champion with the Gold Find role (stacking multiplicatively).

• 9,600% after upgrades; Supported by an Item & a Feat

Double Tap: If Môrgæn's first arrow kills her target, the second arrow hits the now-dead(?) target again, causing it to drop a second set of gold.

Global DPS Buff: 9.44e07%
 

Specialization Choice 1 - Buffs Targets

Fine As Is: Paid Up Front continues to only apply to adjacent Champions.
Keep Your Distance: Paid Up Front now only applies to all non-adjacent Champions.
Monster Fodder: Paid Up Front now only applies to all Champions in front of Môrgæn.
Stay Out Of My Way: Paid Up Front now only applies to all Champions behind Môrgæn.
Gaar's Note: These choices make her one of the most flexible Champions in the game when it comes to buffing and formation placement.

Specialization Choice 2 - Buffs Modifiers

Keep It Simple: Paid Up Front's buff is increased by 300%.
Tight Formation: Paid Up Front is increased by 75% for each Champion adjacent to Môrgæn (stacking additively, then applying multiplication; 6 adjacent = 450%).
Calm Under Pressure: Paid Up Front is increased by 20% for each enemy attacking a Champion within 2 slots of herself (additively), up to a max of 20 enemies (max 400%); each enemy can only count once, even if it's attacking multiple Champions.
The Long Game: Paid Up Front is increased by 10% each second an enemy is not killed (additively), stacking up to 60 times (max 600%); any enemy dying resets the stack amount to 0.
Gaar's Note: When choosing from Spec Choices 2 & 3, aim for the largest potential multiplier you can feasibly manage. Some formation layouts won't allow you to work with certain choices, so it's best to understand how each works and choose according to the situation.

Formation & Mission Information

In a Time Gate, you will be given two basic adventures and one variant to complete, along with being granted access to Free Plays. They all use a formation that holds 10 Champions. They have a Champ-specific format that I've done my best to re-create below.

New Player Formation & Specializations:
While I recommend learning to build your own formations, here's a set of starter formations for brand new players to use while they get the hang of things. Anyone with other options should check that link for how to figure out how to make the best of them. You can also ask for help in the #formations channel in the official Discord.

This formation is for the first couple of runs where you're just not going to get enough Gold to get everyone on the field, let alone level people up into their power curves. At this point, Jarlaxle is focusing on being your Primary DPS while everyone else is set up to support him.
The following formation is for once your Hitch starts doing more damage than your Jarlaxle. You can find this out by pulling Asharra out of the formation and swapping Jarlaxle and Hitch around to see whose damage is better. If Hitch is higher, next run change Asharra's Spec to buff Hitch instead.

This formation should get you through the Time Gate as a new player. If you have other options or think a different DPS is geared better, try it out and see what happens! Swapping DPS around like this can help you figure out what works best for you with your specific items.
These are the rough Favor values you need to reach to make a Variant say Difficulty: Easy. Keep in mind that this is just a generic rating system and some Variants may be harder than others, even with Favor in this range.

Initial Mission: Deadwinter Day

Complete: Area 50

Gaar's Notes: The Devourer is a very difficult boss to beat, especially as you climb into higher levels. You have to be able to clear his minions almost instantly and then dump all the damage you have left onto him to kill him right away. This is because his attack is an insta-kill. He winds up then chomps one of your Champs, killing them instantly, then starts chewing on them. When he's done chewing, he heals fully.
There are multiple ways to do this involving Ultimates to stun him (Nayeli, Wulfgar, etc), remove his minions (Vlahnya, Jarlaxle, etc), and burst him down (Krull, Donaar, etc). Utilize whatever tactics you can, even if you just swap some of those Champs in to use their Ults before swapping them out during the fight. He will limit your overall progression more than bosses in other Events, so don't feel bad if your wall is lower this Event than in past ones.
 

Second Mission: Deadwinter Day

Complete: Area 75

The area goals go up by 50 each time you select a specific Champion's Time Gate and then go down by 25 each time you select someone else's. This encourages you to do Time Gates for different Champions, potentially in a rotation, rather than just grinding the same Champion's Time Gate over and over.
 
Once you've done the first two missions, you then have to complete the variant the Time Gate gave you. If you've never done any of them, you'll get one at random. If you've done one, you'll get one of the other two you haven't done before. If you've done two of them before, you're guaranteed to get the one you haven't done. If you've done all three before, you get one at random.

First Variant Option: Utterly Devoured

Complete: Area 75
Reward: Gold Môrgæn Chest & whatever Mystra's Favor you earned
Info: Anyone the Devourer completely devours is now devoured for the entire adventure and can't be used again until you reset the adventure. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Gaar's Notes: So, once again they toss you a hard variant right away. Please, please, PLEASE, make sure you have at least the Favor shown in the chart above before attempting. For your sake. Even then, you'll need to actively play this mission if you're newer.
 

Second Variant Option: Limited Resources

Complete: Area 125
Reward: Gold Môrgæn Chest & whatever Mystra's Favor you earned
Info: Only Champions in the first bench seat are initially available. Every 10 areas, another bench slot unlocks, allowing Champions from that slot to be used.
Gaar's Notes: This is an interesting variant that can be a bit slow at first unless you're relying on click damage to kill things. That being said, it shouldn't be too difficult as long as you have the Favor shown in the chart above.
 

Third Variant Option:

Complete: Area 175
Reward: Gold Môrgæn Chest & whatever Mystra's Favor you earned
Info: Môrgæn starts in the formation in slot 3 and can be moved, but not swapped out or removed from the formation. Only Môrgæn and Champions buffed by Paid Up Front can deal damage; other Champions' attacks will still proc stuns/slows/etc., but will deal 0 damage.
Gaar's Notes: This variant is effectively "Time to learn how to properly use Môrgæn." Or at least, time to learn how to get her to focus on your Primary DPS. Either way, while it may be slow if you don't set it up right, it shouldn't be overly difficult as long as you have the Favor shown in the chart above.

The Best Gear Money Can Buy - 1%
Obtain a piece of gear for each of Môrgæn's six equipment slots. (Event Champ gear does not come from regular SilveGold Chests. You can earn Event Champ gear from their specific Event Chests, Time Gates, qualifying Patron Chests, and other Chests as noted.)
Sick of Winter - 1%
Complete area 275 in any "Deadwinter Day" free play. (This achievement can only be earned during the Midwinter Event, but it can be earned in any Champion's free play.)
Well Worth It - 1%
Affect at least 6 Champions with Paid Up Front while it's buffed by at least 2000% from your specialization choice
Gaar's Notes: This Achievement has some people confused. There are multiple different ways to get this achievement, but I'm going to outline the easiest ways, in my opinion.
First off, you need to get this on 6 Champions, so will need to place Môrgæn appropriately based on your first Spec Choice. I recommend Fine As Is for Sword Coast & Tomb of Annihilation (place her in the center of the formation surrounded by 6 Champs) and Keep Your Distance for her Event formation as well as Waterdeep: Dragon Heist and Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus (place her at the farthest edge away from at least 6 Champs).
Second, you'll need to pick your two Buff Modifier specializations. If you're doing this in Sword Coast or Tomb of Annihilation, select Tight Formation and The Long Game. In any other situation, choose Calm Under Pressure and The Long Game.
The key here is to build a formation that allows enemies to stack up on your tank without killing any of them. This will get Calm Under Pressure/The Long Game to max out. You can do this without Môrgæn in your formation if you want and wait for those two buffs to max, then drop her in, or you can just have her in from the start. It works either way, but will depend on what you need in your formation to keep the tank alive long enough to max this out.
Keep in mind, when you're looking at the Formation Buffs tab to see what your total is, ignore Paid Up Front. That isn't telling you anything. Look at the Specialization choices listed only. That's what you need to watch.
It's entirely possible you may not be able to do this right now. You may have to wait until your formations have more survivability. That's fine. This Achievement doesn't need to be done during the Event; it can be done at any time.

Bio: Rough and tumble, and ready for action, Half-Elven Fighter Evandra brings the muscle. Evandra ran away from home when her father discovered that she had been training in strength and combat. He tried to force her into an arranged marriage with an elven nobleman, but Evandra rejected this on both principle and taste. She decided instead to become an adventurer, free from her father’s judgment.
 
Basic Attack: Trusty Sword - Evandra moves up next to the closest enemy and swings her sword, dealing 1 hit to all nearby enemies.

Ultimate: Improvised Arms - A mechanical guard spawns on the right side and quickly moves to the middle of the enemy's side of the screen. Evandra moves up, attacks the guard, and instantly "disarms" it and defeats it. Then Evandra uses the guard's arm as a weapon for the next 15 seconds instead of her sword. For the duration, Evandra's attack deals an additional 3 seconds of BUD damage, her normal attack speed cooldown is faster by 2 seconds, and Freedom's Fury is increased by 100% for the duration.

Passive Abilities

Evandra, the Magnificent: Evandra can be used in any Wild Beyond the Witchlight campaign adventure or variant, even if she would not normally be available to be used due to variant or patron restrictions.
 

Interesting Abilities

Freedom's Fury: Evandra increases the damage of all Neutral Champions (on the Good/Evil axis) by 100%.

• 4.3e09% after upgrades; Supported by an Item & Feats

Gaar's Notes: This is the core of her kit. She only buffs Neutral (G/E axis) DPS Champions so don't bother putting her in with anyone else.
Never Completely 'Armless: When Evandra's health is brought to zero, she loses her left arm but returns to full health. Her arm regrows after moving to a new area. While missing her arm, she increases the damage bonus of Freedom's Fury by 100% for each second she had her arm in the current area, stacking additively and being applied multiplicatively.

• 3,200% multiplier after upgrades; Supported by a Feat

Gaar's Notes: This is an interesting mechanic that can be manipulated by not having her in the front column for a long time to ramp up the bonus, then moving her and letting her die to get the bonus to clear a level. Only something you'd try at your wall and super-manipulative/time-consuming.
Find the Secret Stash: Increase the formation's gold find by 100%. Every time a Champion attacks but does not defeat an enemy, increase this bonus by 50%, stacking additively up to 120 times and applying multiplicatively. Bonus resets when an enemy is defeated.

• 5.12e04% after upgrades; Supported by an Item & a Feat

Inspiring Fortitude: Evandra increases the health of all other Champions by 25% of her max health, and any healing effect on those Champions is increased by 25%.

Gaar's Note: There are different bonus values here, so you'll really need to do the math instead of just picking the one with the higher number. Unless the higher number is on Carnival Crew. Then you're a big winner.

Once you complete the first mission, three Variants and a Free Play show up. It uses a formation that holds 10 Champions. It has a Champ-specific format that I've done my best to re-create below.

New Player Formation & Specializations:
While I recommend learning to build your own formations, here's a set of starter formations for brand new players to use while they get the hang of things. Anyone with other options should check that link for how to figure out how to make the best of them. You can also ask for help in the #formations channel in the official Discord.

This formation is for the first couple of runs where you're just not going to get enough Gold to get everyone on the field, let alone level people up into their power curves. At this point, Jarlaxle is focusing on being your Primary DPS while everyone else is set up to support him.
The following formation is for once your Hitch starts doing more damage than your Jarlaxle. You can find this out by pulling Asharra out of the formation and swapping Jarlaxle and Hitch around to see whose damage is better. If Hitch is higher, next run change Asharra's Spec to buff Hitch instead.

This formation should get you through the Event as a new player. If you have other options or think a different DPS is geared better, try it out and see what happens! Swapping DPS around like this can help you figure out what works best for you with your specific items.
These are the rough Favor values you need to reach to make a Variant say Difficulty: Easy. Keep in mind that this is just a generic rating system and some Variants may be harder than others, even with Favor in this range.

Second Variant: Half-Elf, Pink, and the Bard

Cost: 2,500 Rusted Gears
Complete: Area 125
Reward: Gold Evandra Chest & whatever Gond's Favor you earned
Info: Evandra starts in the formation. She can't be moved or removed. If you have them and they're not already on another adventure, Antrius and Nixie start unlocked and in the formation. 1-2 Mechanical Guards spawn with every wave. They don't drop gold, nor do they count towards quest progress. Construct enemies move at 300% speed and deal 300% damage.
Gaar's Notes: This is a neat variant if you have Antrius and Nixe as you get them in the formation for free. Outside that, it's just a swarm situation. As long as you have the Favor shown in the chart above, you'll be fine.
 

Third Variant: That's What Friends Are For

Cost: 5,000 Rusted Gears
Complete: Area 175
Reward: Gold Evandra Chest & whatever Gond's Favor you earned
Info: Evandra starts in the formation. She can't be moved or removed. You may only use Champions that are female, nonbinary, fighters, rangers, barbarians, paladins, or have a total ability score of 78 or less.
Gaar's Notes: This variant is trying to teach you about her Specialization Choices. Build out the best possible formation you can. If you end up with empty formation slots or are using filler Champs that aren't great, get an extra e01+ Favor per either of those above the Favor shown in the chart above for this variant to get it done easily.
 

Free Play

Cost: 500 - 2500 Rusted Gears (Cost scales based on how many you do to a max of 2500)

Formation & Mission Information

In a Time Gate, you will be given two basic adventures and one variant to complete, along with being granted access to Free Plays. They all use a formation that holds 10 Champions. They have a Champ-specific format that I've done my best to re-create below.

New Player Formation & Specializations:
While I recommend learning to build your own formations, here's a set of starter formations for brand new players to use while they get the hang of things. Anyone with other options should check that link for how to figure out how to make the best of them. You can also ask for help in the #formations channel in the official Discord.

This formation is for the first couple of runs where you're just not going to get enough Gold to get everyone on the field, let alone level people up into their power curves. At this point, Jarlaxle is focusing on being your Primary DPS while everyone else is set up to support him.
The following formation is for once your Hitch starts doing more damage than your Jarlaxle. You can find this out by pulling Asharra out of the formation and swapping Jarlaxle and Hitch around to see whose damage is better. If Hitch is higher, next run change Asharra's Spec to buff Hitch instead.

This formation should get you through the Time Gate as a new player. If you have other options or think a different DPS is geared better, try it out and see what happens! Swapping DPS around like this can help you figure out what works best for you with your specific items.
These are the rough Favor values you need to reach to make a Variant say Difficulty: Easy. Keep in mind that this is just a generic rating system and some Variants may be harder than others, even with Favor in this range.

Second Mission: The Mechanical Menace

Complete: Area 75
Reward: Gold Evelyn Chest & whatever Mystra's Favor you earned

The area goals go up by 50 each time you select a specific Champion's Time Gate and then go down by 25 each time you select someone else's. This encourages you to do Time Gates for different Champions, potentially in a rotation, rather than just grinding the same Champion's Time Gate over and over.
 
Once you've done the first two missions, you then have to complete the variant the Time Gate gave you. If you've never done any of them, you'll get one at random. If you've done one, you'll get one of the other two you haven't done before. If you've done two of them before, you're guaranteed to get the one you haven't done. If you've done all three before, you get one at random.

First Variant Option: The Neverending March

Complete: Area 75
Reward: Gold Evelyn Chest & whatever Mystra's Favor you earned
Info: Every time a Modron is killed in non-boss areas it shuts down for five seconds and then comes back to life with full health.
Gaar's Notes: This is a fairly straightforward variant that doesn't require any specific type of formation. Just keep in mind that because things respawn on non-Boss levels, it's more difficult to farm. That's not to say it's impossible, just more difficult. Good wave clear is important for your Primary DPS here.
 

Second Variant Option: (Hu)man vs. Machine

Complete: Area 125
Reward: Gold Evelyn Chest & whatever Mystra's Favor you earned
Info: All human Champions get a buff called "The Human Spirit" which increases their damage by 5% in each area (stacking multiplicatively).
Gaar's Notes: Only human Champions can be used in this variant, which means the formation is getting wild and very sub-optimal. You can click on a member of your part to see the total damage buff from The Human Spirit at any time if you want to know how much it is. By level 125, the buff is at 44,400%, which is why having a full formation isn't super important.
 

Third Variant Option: Charge into Battle

Complete: Area 175
Reward: Gold Evelyn Chest & whatever Mystra's Favor you earned
Info: Enemies move extremely fast and deal massive damage to everyone except Evelyn. Evelyn starts the adventure at level 1 and in the front slot of the formation.
Gaar's Notes: Time to learn how Evelyn works. You'll want to have a solid amount of Favor (e09/e10) to ensure you can keep her solidly leveled to withstand the enemy horde as they'll move quick.

Reward: Whatever Mystra's Favor you earned

Obtain a piece of gear for each of Evelyn's six equipment slots. (Event Champ gear does not come from regular SilveGold Chests. You can earn Event Champ gear from their specific Event Chests, Time Gates, qualifying Patron Chests, and other Chests as noted.)
The Endless Menace- 1%
Complete area 175 in any "The Mechanical Menace" free play. (This achievement can only be earned during the xx Event, but it can be earned in any Champion's free play.)
Pega-crushed - 1%
Have Evelyn trample 1,000 enemies using her Ultimate Attack
Gaar's Note: Use Evelyn a lot. That's it. You can attempt to farm it with Dungeon Master and/or Hew Maan, but it's a slog no matter what.

I got a couple FDs when they first dropped the new C-line, and they were honestly not that straight. I could power them super hard and they were surprisingly overstable. However, I got a purple Jackal FD in the mystery box and it’s the best FD I have ever thrown. Full power it just goes lazer straight for ages before the most subtle fade. I throw about 380-400 of power if that means anything.
I’m just wondering if I get an FD now, if it will fly like the Jackal one I have or if it will be more stable?
