2023.06.02 09:21 Bucket2255 Is this 1982 penny worth anything?
2023.06.02 02:15 xtrfyz0 Questions
- Are quarters from 1965 or 1776-1976 worth above face values?
- What coins generally have silver? Do most coins prior to 1964 (nickel & pennies) have silver in them?
- What mint mark should I be looking for (which one has has lower mintage)?
- Are pennies from 1965-1975 of any value?

I tried the various suggestions regarding pasting in edit mode and in markdown mode and still not working like it used to for me. Grading. Grades are approximated and used to price point the coin. If you see something on a coin that you believe alters the grade, send a chat and, let's discuss it. In previous posts, I have had absolutely NO extra space to get wordy as you get cut off at like 40,000 some such characters. With the spreadsheet links, I can now get into more details about a coin, but not Im going to retroactively adjust descriptions.
Details, cleaned or polished means this coin will not likely grade and refers to the most obvious examples. That does not mean that one that is not designated as such will grade. I do not consider a dipped coin a details designation. Cleaned to me means there are cleaning lines, and often in the eyes of a grading company it is a matter of degree. Most mid-1800s proof coins have cleaning lines that are straight-graded. Typically I do not designate a coin with modest cleaning lines as cleaned or other minor detractors that MAY hold back a straight grade but instead, place a lower price on it. Many of these raw coins will not straight grade. Again, Im only going to call out the obvious examples, and we can discuss any coin you need more info on to make a decision. If you are planning on submitting your coin, please ask if I think the coin will grade. Early copper for instance is notorious for environmental damage yet the coin is still attractive for the type set collector. Again if you are planning on getting a coin graded or even just want more confidence about it, let's review the coin under a microscope and even UV light, etc, video.
I use "Making the Grade" Third edition to estimate grades. I also use the narrow definition of Scott travers when calling a coin uncirculated (no breaking in luster on the high points). Often, I have a coin slabbed in my PC that serves as a comparison. BU to me means a very choice example of an uncirculated. MS62-MS66. IF YOU ARE NOT happy with your purchase SAY SO. Don't be shy. Full refunds for coins that do not meet your expectations are encouraged.

2023.06.01 20:52 lylemurphy1970 [WTS] NumisMecca: Your NumisMatic WalMart. Disclosures Post
[Feature:] [Proof:] ALL COIN PICS [GO HERE] For some reason, the hyperlinks from my older posts are not pasting new posts. I tried the various suggestions regarding pasting in edit mode and in markdown mode and still not working like it used to for me. And it would take days to recreate and I think there is some setting I'm not aware of. Any suggestions would be most welcome. The only real option at this time is to
[GO HERE] for PMS. There you will find my full inventories with pics and or vid links all on one google doc spreadsheet. What is posted here is a very small slice of what is available. The document is always current, so you can browse it at any time for the most current inventory.
Details, cleaned or polished means this coin will not likely grade and refers to
the most obvious examples. Typically I do not designate a coin with modest cleaning lines as cleaned or other minor detractors that
MAY hold back a straight grade but instead, place a lower price on it.
MS62-MS66.

2023.06.01 18:12 depressedontheweeknd My wheat penny collection plus my prized Buffalo Nickel with no date ):
| Been collecting these pennies for a while now but never got around to putting them in coin holders. If anyone can figure out where the date is on my Buffalo nickel you'll be a God but I think it's too far gone unfortunately. Also I know the silver pennies aren't rare but I have the D mint and regular which I think it's sweet still so cheers. submitted by depressedontheweeknd to coins [link] [comments] |
2023.06.01 14:18 ipg9 Wheat penny question
I recently purchased a 1931-S wheat penny and it made me wonder why is a 1914-D more valuable and sought after than a 1931-S if 1914-D had a higher mintage? If anyone could shed some more light on it, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

2023.06.01 13:21 eZGjBw1Z New and Changed Products - June 2023
Usually around the first of the month we have a batch of price changes and this month is no different. According to the "
How to Become a Contract Liquor Agent" document, "The Agent must also complete price changes that occur at the first of the month..."
Number of Price Increases: 2 Number of Price Decreases: 136 Number of New Products: 44 Number of Status Changes: 4
I plan to reply to this post throughout the month if I notice other significant changes happening or at the end of the month before the next update to keep the changes in one place. Here's a link back to what changed in May 2023:
American Whiskey, Brandy, Canadian Whiskey, Cordial, Gin, and Irish Whisky,
Rum, Scotch, Tequila, and Vodka.
For each category I've sorted by the amount of the price increase or decrease. New products are shown first, then price decreases are shown in decreasing order followed by price increases in increasing order. At the end are products with other changes unrelated to price.
Current product status is indicated on each line as follows. OHLQ hasn't publicly explained what these things mean but I've included my best guess below.
- A = Active
- Regularly supplied and available for purchase
- D = De-Listed
- No longer carried by OHLQ, may still be available in some stores or the warehouse. Sometimes considered a Last Call product
- I = Inactive
- Discontinued by the supplier or otherwise unavailable to OHLQ
- S = Special Order
- Regularly available but in limited supply. Not available in very many stores
- V = Value-Added-Pack
- Bottle comes with some kind of extra gift like a glass/mug/etc

2023.06.01 07:30 NitroFish44 [WTS] [US] Pen smorgasbord-Vintage and Modern! Pelikan, Wahl, Parker, Waterman, Ingersoll, Gravitas, Tactile Turn, Platinum, Lamy :-)
Good evening folks! I hope everyone has had a great start to their week after the holiday weekend :-) Listed here is another batch of pens as I continue to curate my collection. All these pens are great writers and would serve you well. It gets harder and harder to choose which pens to let go of. As a virtue of that, there is no “bad” choice here!
Verification and photos:
https://imgur.com/a/HVF7yzN Please note: there may be ink on the nibs(and on my fingers lol) in the photos as a result of my testing them. Rest assured, all nibs are in great shape -All sub rules in effect. PayPal G&S is the
only acceptable form of payment! -Please post on this listing
first, then PM with your PayPal email and I’ll get an invoice sent out ASAP.
Users that indicate firm intention through messaging to purchase a pen will get priority for a given pen, irrespective of “pm” order in the thread. -The cost of shipping is higher than ever. All packages ship with full value insurance-absolutely no exceptions.
Shipping will be a flat rate of $10. I’m happy to combine shipping if you purchase multiple items.
On to the pens!
[D for vintage] Platinum Pocket Pen w/18k factory Music nib!
$200+shipping This pen is quite unusual in that you definitely don’t see them everyday. While I’m not an expert on Platinum as a brand, I do know these pens are few and far between. In fact, this is the only one I’ve ever seen available and I paid a pretty penny for it. I’m sure there are others out there, but they rarely come up for sale. This is a must have for any Platinum collectors out there! The 18k music nib writes absolutely beautifully and has a bit of spring. The pen is also in good shape and is ready to write sweet, sweet music! If you’re a Platinum collector(or a traveling composer), this is a must have pen for you ;-)
[D for vintage] Parker Vacumatic in Gray Pearl Shadow-Wave w/14k Med. flexible nib
$125+shipping Up next is a fantastic user grade Vac that would be perfect for someone who’s either just getting into vintage, or for the person who wants a vintage pen to carry with them daily without having to worry about losing an Uber expensive pen. The pen presents very well but is user grade with brassing to the trim and a depression or 2 on the body. The nib is awesome and has rare flexibility to add plenty of character to your writing. It is not easy to find a Vac with flexibility at this price point!
[D for vintage] Wahl full length slender pen in Jade celluloid w/14k Fine flexible nib
$125+shipping Those that know me here know that I collect Wahl as a primary focus. This pen was an early acquisition and is perfect for getting into vintage. The Jade celluloid has discoloring, as do most pens made of this material. The color on this pen is a lot better than some. The nib is awesome! A fine with flexibility to take your writing to the next level. I’ve traded up to a similar pen that has better coloring, so this pen must go! Discover why I love Wahl so much! I guarantee you would not be disappointed with this pen if you purchased it!
Last minute edit: I just realized I didn’t take a picture of the nib on this pen, grrrr. The nib is in excellent condition. The light is now gone for the day however, so I’ll provide pics to whoever is interested. [D for vintage] Ingersoll all metal pen w/14k Med. Stub Italic nib
$105+shipping This pen is great for somebody who wants to experience vintage stub flex without breaking the budget. While still a stunning pen, the exterior does have some wear, however it’s a very old pen! This is a twist filler, requiring that one simply remove the blind cap, insert the nib in ink, and twist the metal piece to “deflate” the sac. After releasing the metal piece, allowing the sac to fill with ink, boom, the pen is filled! The nib is what makes this pen special! A #2 Ingersoll, it is a truly flexible, italic like MF nib. There is some feedback when writing, however this pen is a whole lot of fun to write with! If you’ve never experienced a flexible stub, here’s your chance to do so in a relatively inexpensive manner!
Modern pens below! [B+] Lamy Accent Briarwood w/14k Med nib
$110+shipping Lamy’s Accent is a great way to enjoy Lamy’s gold nibs. This pen is customizable in that you can purchase additional barrel inserts if you wanted. The Medium nib writes beautifully and is exactly what one would expect from a Lamy nib. This pen is in really good shape and needs a new owner who will actually use it!
[B+] Lamy Studio Palladium w/14k Fine nib
$120+shipping There’s probably not a whole lot I can say about the Lamy Studio that hasn’t already been said and they are indeed, great pens! This one is in great condition and also writes beautifully. I’ve always liked the way Lamy gold nibs feel against paper. I also really like the ergonomics of this pen. For my hands they’re extremely comfortable to hold, and quite grippy given the texture on the section. This pen is ready to be your faithful writing companion :-) I’m primarily a vintage guy and don’t use this pen nearly enough to justify owning it.
[A2] Pelikan M200 w/SS Med. nib
$105+shipping This is Pelikans entry level model in beautifully chatoyant brown! This pen is stunningly beautiful and also writes extremely well. Hot take….
Pelikan stainless nibs are fantastic! Not often talked about due to Pelikans much ballyhooed gold nibs, the stainless examples are wet, smooth, reliable writers. This pen is essentially brand new and has only been inked once with the very gentle Waterman Black(my mainstay ink). Another good thing about these stainless nibs is that they write true to size, unlike a lot of Pelikans gold nib offerings ;-) The absolute best thing about these pens are the screw in nib units standard across most of Pelikans lineup. They make these pens a breeze to clean! You get the ink capacity of a piston filler with the easy to clean nature of screw in nibs? Sign me up!!
[B+]Platinum PTL-5000a w/14k Fine nib
$90+shipping Another Platinum, this one discontinued several years ago. While it’s a great pen that writes wet and smooth for a Japanese fine, I just don’t use it. These pens gained an almost cult like following and were known to have nibs with flexibility. This example is no different. Great pen in great condition and with a great nib!
SOLD SOLD SOLD[B+] Gravitas Pocket pen-copper w/SS Fine nib $90+shipping
Gravitas pens are hot right now! It’s no wonder as you can feel the quality of workmanship as soon as you pick one of these pens up. This pen is in great condition with only a bit of a developing patina. I’m happy to polish it for the new owner if requested. Grab this pen at a discount and without the wait of shipping across the pond.
SOLD SOLD SOLD[B+]Gravitas Pocket Pen-brass w/Ti ultra flex nib $100+shipping
Same story as above for this one. A quality pen with almost zero signs of usage. The ultra flex nib has been quite a surprise for me! It is much softer than say, a noodlers Ahab. I’m talking MUCH softer. It also writes extremely well! The thing is, since I’m a vintage flex guy, the nib just doesn’t get the use it deserves, so it’s listed here :-(
SOLD SOLD SOLD[D for vintage] vintage Pelikan 400 w/14k EF flexible nib **$235+shipping
Vintage Pelikans do not get the hype they deserve within the community imho. They are great pens in every way! Beautiful, sleek, very easy to clean, and with great nibs, you’d be hard pressed to find a pen, either modern or vintage, with more upside/features than these models! This pen, from the early to mid 1950’s, is in good condition with very light microscratching commensurate with careful usage throughout the years. Somewhere along its life, the original cap was replaced with an example from a 400nn and is in really good shape itself with only some light brassing. The nib is absolutely wonderful and is the real draw here. It has plenty of flex available if you’d like to use the pen for that. It writes absolutely beautifully, the ebonite feed offering a steady supply of ink for wet, luscious lines. I have a bunch of these pens in all nib sizes for a good reason. If you don’t have one of these, you should seriously consider picking this pen up. I guarantee you’ll be happy you tried it out. I’ll also guarantee that you won’t stop at only one! They’re truly that good….
SOLD SOLD SOLD[Parts due to no nib, A2 otherwise] Tactile Turn Gist-all copper NO NIB $125+shipping
This pen is essentially brand new and has only been inked once or twice. I’m keeping the nib that was in this pen, however it’ll take any Bock #6 nib unit that you’d like to install. This pen is in immaculate condition as it relates to the metal, save for a bit of patina to the raw copper surface of the body(which can be polished if you prefer). I don’t think Tactile Turn produces the Gist model any more(a mistake imo as these are really awesome pens) so if you’ve been wanting one of these, I’d grab it! As time has passed, it seems they come up for sale less and less often. Also willing to trade this pen for a Titanium version in similar, like new condition
SOLD SOLD SOLD[D for vintage] Waterman CF all metal pen-Crocodile pattern w/18k Broad nib $195+shipping
This beautiful all metal CF is a prodigious writer! It’s also the sought after crocodile pattern. Wet, juicy goodness! It’s in spectacular, collector grade condition! Aside from the normal marks all CF’s get on the overlay of their sections, the pen is in perfect shape. You’d be hard pressed to convince anyone this is a vintage pen! Aside from the solid gold models, this is the penultimate CF. I have one last CF I’ll be keeping. Believe me, it was a very hard choice as to which one to let go of. hard to find and expensive CF proprietary converter included in this sale
SOLD SOLD SOLD[D for vintage] Parker Vacumatic Deb. in burgundy w/14k EF-F nib $125+shipping
This may be one of the most beautiful Vacumatics I’ve ever owned! It’s certainly feature packed and is one of the most fancy pants version(aside from the gold Imperial model) you could get of this model/size pen back in the day. Double-striped jewels, duo-tone nib….this pen has it all! Nib writes a perfect, beautifully juicy MF line! There’s some brassing on the trim, and a name engraved on the barrel, but this pen is absolutely stunning in person! Take a look at the video in the gallery.

I took her hand and rose, ready to start another day of searching.
“So what do I need to use in order to do a reanimation?” I asked her.
“Well, in
your case, you’ll want some rather specific reagents: phlox flowers, nettles and a shed skin of some sort. I’m fairly certain we can find the nettles -stinging nettles, mind you- and the shed skin relatively easily, but I’m not so sure about the phlox flowers. I’m not sure they grow wild here in West Virginia. Not natively, at least,” she replied.
“Nettles, huh? I’m gonna grab something to hold it, because I do
not want to deal with that rash,” I said, ducking back into the tent. I grabbed a dirty shirt, and tied it into a makeshift bag, fully expecting to burn it once we were done with this trip. I then went and grabbed a quick snack to have for the day, and we walked out of the cave, striking off towards the small waterfall.
“Well. This is likely going to be a challenge. I have never heard of phlox, and we will be lucky to find some snakeskin at this time of year. Nettle should be fairly easy. It grows in damp areas and disturbed soil, like old farms and such. I’m not relishing the idea of touching it, though. Yeah, this is going to be difficult. How much of each do I need?” I concluded.
“Well, phlox are grown in flower gardens, right? They probably spread on the wind, or by some other animal. We are in the wild, so if you know where snakes nest, we can probably find some shed skin, and I think I saw some nettles by the creek. As to how much? That will be up to you to determine. Your intuition will be the only guide you will have. Not because I don’t want to or can’t, but because I simply don’t know. You do things very differently from anything I’ve encountered in my five thousand years,” Katira replied with a shrug.
I nodded, conceding the point. From everything I’d experienced this week, I was a bit of an anomaly when it came to Necromancy. “Well, I guess we’ll just see what happens then, won’t we?” I asked with a smile.
Katired smiled back and nodded and we began searching in earnest for my reagents. Once we reached the waterfall, a quick glance told me that there were no nettles around, so we headed downstream, eyes scanning for any trace of the plants.
We didn’t find anything for the first few hours. Just more mint and several terrified crayfish. I spied several fallen logs on the opposite side, but investigations proved fruitless. I had no idea how far we had wandered from the cave, but it was probably rather far.
Having found nothing on this side of the stream, I decided to cross it and wander into the wooded area on the other side. I figured I could do with the change in scenery, as I probably had a sunburn by now.
We traipsed into the woods, being mindful of the undergrowth. I made sure to mark our path with some deadfall leaned up against the trees at unnatural angles so we might be able to follow them back to the stream.
We saw several lizards skittering through the undergrowth, a plethora of spiders, and even saw a fox in the distance. No nettles or phloxes or snake skins, unfortunately. I was about to give up and turn back towards the creek when Katira took my arm gently and pointed to a shaded clearing in the forest.
“Master. Look over there. I think that may be nettle.”
I looked over and saw a patch of rather tall, green plants that looked like gigantic peppermint, only with spiky holly-like leaves. I approached cautiously, not wanting to come in contact with the plant if I could help it. I pulled out my multitool, clamped the pliers on a leaf, and pulled it off the plant.
I took the leaf a distance from the patch and inspected it closely. Under the right angle of light, there were, indeed, small translucent hairs all over it.
“Yep. This is nettle. One whole plant should be enough, I think,” I said, heading back to the patch.
The plants were nearly three feet tall and bushy. I carefully placed a stick against a stem, and cut it off at the ground, making sure the thing wouldn’t fall on my back. I gently sliced the thick stem into sections, and put them into my makeshift bag, which Katira helpfully held open for me. Once the nettles were secured, I tied the shirt to a long stick and carried it like a bindle.
“One down, two to go!” I said happily. “Let’s get out of here and find a field. More likely to find wildflowers there, and if we’re lucky, we’ll find a phlox or two. What do you think?” I asked, looking at my familiar with a smile.
“I think that’s a wise choice, Master. It’s after noon, and I’m sure you’re getting hungry. Hopefully, we will find the other two reagents soon. Let’s go,” she said softly, and we began our trek out of the forest.
On our way back to the stream, I caught sight of a field off to my left. I pointed it out to Katira, and she agreed that it would be a likely place to begin our search. After about an hour, we emerged from the canopy, and I walked over to the stream.
I took off my shoes and socks, and dipped my feet into the cool waters, relishing the relief. Katira sat beside me, and leaned back on her hands, looking at the clouds.
“You know, I never thought I’d be doing this, Master.”
“Doing what?”
“Teaching Initiates. Working
with my Master instead of
for him. Being treated like I was a person, not a tool. You’ve done things for me that haven’t happened in hundreds of years. But being trusted enough to
teach? That’s a new thing for me. Thank you, Master.”
I chuckled softly. “Treating you like a person shouldn’t be a bonus. It should be the norm. No matter the form you take. Even if you have been taught that you
aren’t a person, as far as I’m concerned that is exactly what you are to me. A person. Someone I care for. Someone I care
about. And as long as I may live, that’s what you’ll always be treated as.” I patted her hand, and closed my fingers around hers.
We sat there in companionable silence for a bit, and I ate the snack I’d brought. I pulled my feet from the water, let them dry and put my footwear back on. We rose, and headed off into the field to look for our last two reagents.
As luck would have it, I spied an old shed skin on the ground not ten feet into the field. Snatching it up, I stuffed it into a pocket, and continued on. One more item to go.
I stopped in my tracks. “Come to think of it, I’ve never actually
seen a phlox. Nobody really grew flowers when I was a kid, and I’ve never had any real desire to grow them, myself. Let’s check the Grimoire,” I said.
As I opened the Grimoire, Katira rolled her eyes. “
Seriously, Master? You don’t know what a phlox looks like?” she asked, crossing her arms beneath her breasts.
“Nope,” I said as I leafed through the entries on the plant. “Figured I’d know it when I saw it. I
do know that there are several different species. Are any preferred? Like with the mint?” I asked as I found the correct entry.
“No, as they all bear similar enough energy that it doesn’t matter. Unlike mint which has a
distinct difference in the energies of the plants. All mints will
work, but some just work
better,” she replied, tapping her foot as I searched through the entry.
There were several pictures of different phlox species. It appeared that at least one of my predecessors had been from the US, and there was a separate list for each species. Handy. As I flipped through the pictures, I spied one that looked familiar.
“Oh shit. I’ve seen these a few times. Never knew what they were until now. In fact, I think I see some over there by that pile of stone,” I said, closing the Grimoire. “Shall we?” I asked, offering my arm to the lady beside me.
She wrapped her arms around mine and held herself close to me. “Yes, Master. Let’s go.”
We walked off a ways from the stream towards the pile of stone, chatting amiably with each other. As we neared it, I felt a chill, as if I’d walked through a barrier of some sort and stopped in my tracks.
“Katira? What the fuck was that?” I asked, my voice low and quiet.
“What do you mean, Master?”
“I just felt like I walked through a wall of
ice water, is what I mean.”
“I didn’t perceive it, so I cannot say.”
“Let’s, uh…let’s get what we came for and leave, okay? I suddenly feel
very uncomfortable.”
Katira nodded and we slowly approached the pile of stones. As we neared, my unease began to grow more and more insistent until it was all but shrieking at me to turn and run. I stopped in front of the patch of beautiful blue flowers and knelt.
“This is a grave, Katira. Someone is buried here. It’s not a dump, nor was it an accident. Someone
chose to be buried here, in the middle of nowhere, with nobody nearby, and only a cairn of stone to mark their final resting place,” I said softly.
“How do you know this, Master?”
“I’m not sure. Something just
screams sacred space here. It commands reverence and respect. Whoever this was, they were highly regarded and loved. And they loved this area so much that they demanded to become
part of the land,” I said with conviction. “I wonder who she was,” I murmured.
“What did you say?” Katira whispered.
“Hmmm? Oh, I just wanted to know who this was,” I said.
“No. You said
she. Why did you specify
she?” Katira asked, her hands trembling.
“I did? Huh. I don’t recall a pronoun leaving my lips, but if you say I said it, then I’ll believe you. What’s got you so worked up?” I asked, standing and taking her trembling hands in mine.
“My former Master. She would talk about her late partner frequently. How much she loved this area. How she never wanted to be away from it, even in death. How the two of them would sit on that-”
“-boulder and watch the fish and the crawdads play in the pool beneath the waterfall. How they would walk through the woods together, foraging for nettles and mushrooms and berries. And how her wife picked the wrong mushroom one day, and was found dead in their home. Destroying Angel, wasn’t it?” I asked quietly, receiving a tear-filled nod from my familiar.
“How?” she asked through her tears.
I looked down at the grave, the unease I once felt replaced by something different. Something profound. As I stared, realization flooded through me, and I looked up into my familiar’s beautiful, bloodshot eyes. “Because, if I had to hazard a guess, either your former Master or her wife lives on in me,” I said in a whisper.

2023.05.31 19:02 Edward_Stivenson Ib Extended Essay Writing Guide
Looking for a more down to earth Extended Essay Guide? Then look no further. It is safe to assume that you are currently tackling the challenges of the
International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. Nonetheless, that does not mean that students are given all the necessary resources to address complex extended essay questions. Throughout this IB Extended Essay Guide, experts from our
online paper writing service will be exploring the most efficient methods to manage and complete such a challenging task.
What is an IB Extended Essay? It is a well-known fact that the
IB Diploma Programme is quite demanding as it includes multiple forms of assessment, one of which is the
Extended Essay. It is designed for students aged between 16 to 19 to help prepare them for life's challenges. Overall it aims to do so by encouraging its participants to be independent thinkers that are knowledgeable, caring, compassionate as well as have an inquisitive nature about the world around them. One develops their intercultural understanding due to the methods used to teach the material, particularly the Extended Essay, and the multicultural learning environment that prepares students to approach issues from a multitude of viewpoints.
Visibly the IB programme is designed to
empower students by allowing them to engage in higher level studies of their preferred subjects. Thus, the Extended Essay Topics will be based on one of the higher level subjects. In most cases, the IB Extended Essay is shortened to EE.
Regardless of what Extended Essay topics are being taken into consideration, the assignment itself cannot exceed 4000 words. The assignment must make use of a
- Cover Page/Title Page;
- Abstract;
- Table of Content;
- Main Body and a Bibliography.
This task should be structured as a mini-thesis written under the supervision of an academic supervisor, usually one of the IB teachers available at the school. The result obtained from students Extended Essay topics is counted towards the value of their IB Diploma. For those seeking a more detailed explanation of how it is tallied up, we will go over that in the sections to come.
The process itself requires one to have their Extended Essay topics
approved by the IBO which is not as complicated as most expect it to be. After it has been accepted, it is time to decide whether one will make use of a typical research paper format, conduct some form of experiment or seek to solve a prominent problem. Most IB schools will allow their students to pick the advisor they want to provide them with various IB Extended Essay Guidelines.
How will the Assignment be Graded? Usually, the advisors are required to provide students with a handout explaining the
grading scheme for all Extended Essay questions. However if it is still unclear, we will go over it again in the section below. As stated by the official Extended Essay Guidelines, the assignment will be marked by a number of external examiners which have been appointed by the IB. The grading scale begins at 0, being the lowest, and ends at 36, being the highest. Nevertheless, despite having a range, there are still some subject-specific as well as general criteria applied to the Extended Essay format as well as content. Therefore, according to how many Rubric Assessment Points you obtain, a Description Letter will be allocated to indicate the final grade.
As you can see a Extended Essay will take up a significant amount of time from the student, but it is vital to make sure it comes out perfect. So what are you waiting for? Get the best college essay writing help from the
SuperbPaper today.
Extended Essay Example: Grading Scheme. How does the Extended Essay impact my diploma? As of 2014, since the first examination in May 2015, students who receive an
E on their Extended Essay topics or
Theory of Knowledge (TOK) will no longer be eligible to be awarded the prestigious IB diploma. These two grades are still being combined allowing students to receive up to 3 points towards their degree by completing both assignments successfully.
Specific Criteria If you have been wondering how to get all those
36 points for your Extended Essay topics then here is the answer. Having mentioned several times that there are some rather rigorous strict criteria used to grade Extended Essay topics, we will now have a look at all of them individually explaining their relevance and role. We have included the maximum amount of points each of these sections carry to give pupils a better understanding of their worth, nonetheless despite their numerical value all are equally important.
A: Research Question [ 2 points Max ]
In most subjects, the purpose of the essay will be highlighted in the
form of a question, which is why this criterion is called
Research Question. Nonetheless, specific Extended Essay topics will allow and even encourage different approaches when defining them. With that in mind, the research question still has to be included on the title page, and an introduction of the Extended Essay format requires that.
B: Introduction [ 2 points Max ]
According to the IB Extended Essay Guidelines examiners must assess the degree to which pupil’s introduction highlights the relationship between the research question and background knowledge the individual already posses on the Extended Essay topic. Students should look to underline the significance and worth of this examination holistically. Overall the context of the chosen research question must be stated and examined.
C: Investigation [ 4 points Max ]
As indicated by the IB Extended Essay Guide our following criterion entails examining the degree to which students have planned their investigations. In essence, examiners are looking to see an extensive range of sources is taken into consideration, efficient use of data as well as implementing these elements in the right places. Overall make sure you collect ONLY relevant material that has been carefully selected as it must support the idea of the investigation.
D: Knowledge and Understanding of the Topic Studied [ 4 points Max ]
This criterion assesses the degree to which students are aware of the current state of affairs in the respective field they are investigating. Nonetheless, that statement has to be taken with a pinch of salt since it is referring to what a pre-university student can elaborate on and not a Masters graduate. Thus, our Extended Essay Guide encourages students to evidentiate their knowledge and understanding of the topic at hand by indicating how the investigation impacts this subject from their current academic perspective.
E: Reasoned Argument [ 4 points Max ]
Due to the title, it is somewhat straightforward what will be placed under assessment. The IB Extended Essay Guidelines explicitly require students to make good use of all the data or reading material collected to showcase their ideas coherently and logically. Thus, pupils may decide to argue against their research question or choose to find various ways of proving it. Keep in mind that the paper must succeed in proving or disproving the original hypothesis according to the IB Extended Essay Guide.
F: Application of Analytical and Evaluative Skills Appropriate to the Subject [ 4 points Max ]
Students display an appropriate use of their analytical and evaluative skills throughout each section included in their Extensive Essay structure.
G: Use of Language Appropriate to the Subject [ 4 Points Max ]
Appropriate use of academic terminology, language, grammar, etc. throughout the assignment. Overall the goal is to get one's ideas across to the public in a clear and concise manner.
H: Conclusion [ 2 points Max ]
The goal here is clearly to assess the
impact of a student's
conclusion. Relevancy and consistency throughout one's argument will play a significant role for examiners. Make sure not to leave any unanswered questions to tackle within the conclusion. Doing so can indicate the student's research was not thorough enough or the Extended Essay structure was not properly organized. The keys to success are to be consistent in the methods and evidence used to support one's argument as well as keeping things as clear and concise as possible without repeating the introduction.
I: Formal Presentation [ 4 points Max ]
As simple as it might sound at first, the following criterion concerns itself with the formal physical elements of the Extended Essay. It is utterly crucial that students are aware of these requirements depicted in any Extended Essay Guide. Again consistency is critical as students must adhere to the standard format described below in the IB Extended Essay Guidelines section. For more information on what these elements are, consult “What is an IB Extended Essay?” located at the
start of our
Extended Essay Guide. Sticking to a simple set of rules can end up awarding the student 4 points, which would be a shame to lose out on.
J: Abstract [ 2 points Max ]
Remember that regardless of what Extended Essay topics are being taken into consideration the abstract can
never exceed 300 words as it will result in losing these 2 points.
Make sure you include the research question being investigated, how the data or reading material will be collected as well as how one expects the investigation to conclude.
K: Holistic Judgement [ 4 points Max ]
The last criterion sets out to assess the qualities which distinguish an excellent Extended Essay from a fantastic one. In essence what it means is displaying a passionate intellectual initiative and a firm understanding of what the topic entails. It is highly recommended in any Extended Essay Guide that pupils seek to apply holistic judgment throughout the entire assignment.
IB Extended Essay Guidelines Similar to all standardized testing systems the Extended Essay guidelines are based on common criteria, some interpreted in specific ways according to the subject. So let’s have a look at the most general ones provided by our

We hope that by reading a shortened and more succinct version of it, you will have saved some time, which you can now invest into perfecting one’s Extended Essay Outline.
What are the Best Extended Essay Topics? Before exploring where one might strike goals regarding their Extended Essay topics, it is essential to be aware of the examiner's expectations. The IB programme makes use of a complex system where everything is interconnected.
When first confronted with the Approaches to Teaching and Learning (ATL) available topics it can get a bit confusing due to how layered the system is. First off what ATL concerns itself with are planned strategies, skills and/or attitudes designed to suffuse one's teaching and learning environment. The goal behind ATL is to help students develop in five different areas, namely:
- Becoming an Independent Thinker
- Developing Self-Management Traits
- Encouraging Effective Communication
- Exploring Social Aspects
- Performing Fruitful Research
Thus, to help students in their grooming process and prepare them for writing some fantastic Extended Essay topics the curriculum is designed much like one of a university. Meaning each pupil must choose six courses from six distinct groups. Doing so gives one a taste of what everything entails so they may gauge what field is best suited for their Extended Essay questions. The groups go as follows:
- The Arts [Theater Arts, Visual Arts, Dancing, etc.]
- Individuals and Societies [Previously known as Humanities involves: History, Geography, Economics, Business Management, Information Technology, etc.]
- Sciences [Physics, Biology, Chemistry, etc.]
- Studies in language and literature [English, German, French, Spanish as a Native Speaker]
- Language Acquisition [Learning a new language either from scratch or at a higher level, but less knowledgeable than a native speaker as they are not eligible]
- Mathematics
In case you change your mind on what subjects fit best one has the option to change them up to a specific date. The date is established by each institution, in particular. Nevertheless, once the period has passed, it will be physically impossible for students to catch up with the material they have missed. With that being said, each must have at least three, with a maximum of four, higher level (HL) classes while taking the rest at the standard level (SL). The difference between those is straightforward: a higher level class will require 240 recommended teaching hours and standard level a total of 150 recommended teaching hours.
Now, since we have a basic idea of how the system works and what is expected of us, we can have a look at what makes Extended Essay topics shine. Most students tend to deviate from the given list of topics by adding their own unique spin to it. The best way to go about any Extended Essay questions is by having the topic based on one of your higher level subjects. Below we will provide an Extended Essay example for each of the six groups.
English A1 HL: How effective was Seamus Heaney’s response in “The Pen’s view of the Sword” to “The Troubles” in Northern Ireland as shown in “Wintering Out and North”?
History HL: A in-depth comparative study between Chinese and Japanese high school history textbooks depicting the acts of Japanese Aggression in China from 1935 to 1937.
Visual Arts HL: To what extent has Salvador Dali’s surrealist movement impacted our interpretation of modern artworks?
Physics HL: Deformation from free-falling - Investigating how the height from which we drop molten wax onto a water surface affect its size and shape.
Mathematics HL: An investigation into the relationship between Pascal's Triangle and the Fibonacci sequence.
Economics/Business Management HL: To what extent has the recession affected the consumption of demerit goods in China?

So let’s have a look at each list of these Extended Essay tips carefully and understand how they will help us get it done in time.
The “Do’s and Don'ts” of Tackling Any Extended Essay Questions Since the IB Extended Essay Topics are quite challenging here is a roadmap to help you understand what the examiners are looking for.
Extended Essay Dos: - Look to find a topic that you have a lot of background information on. This will not only reduce the number of research hours for the Extended Essay but also make it a lot easier to get one’s thoughts organized.
- Get working on it as quickly as possible.
- Go over the assessment criteria for the Extended Essay format several times, since it would be a shame to lose points for small structural errors.
- Maintaining a good relationship with the chosen academic supervisor is crucial.
- Carefully consider what the best Extended Essay Research Question might be for the assignment.
- Try imagining the full finished essay before deciding on your final research question. Do not be shy to reconstruct the Extended Essay questions if needed entirely. However, if it involves a change in topics, then it must be resubmitted to get the IB Coordinator’s approval.
- Instead of being overwhelmed by the sheer size of the Extended Essay format, one should look to start by completing the requirements such as the abstract, organizing their sources and table of content or perfecting the cover page.
- Create a schedule: Plan out the when, where and hows regarding the material needed. It should also include dates. These will be used to determine when the research period ends, when the actual writing of the Extended Essay begins, etc. Make sure to include some wiggle room just in case there are unforeseen delays.
- Have a clear Extended Essay Structure. Meaning one should have it ready before they start writing. It will ensure the sources being used are well incorporated into the text.
- Have multiple copies of the assignment on various platforms. E.g., On your PC, Laptop, Hard-Drive, Phone, Tablet, etc. This way if one piece of equipment breaks down there is a backup file.
- Always double-check and proofread the final version multiple times.
Extended Essay Don’ts: - Avoid working with Extended Essay topics which are inappropriate. Meaning they should not be too vague, broad, narrow or too confusing to answer within the Extended Essay word count.
- Remember this kind of assignment seeks to find questions worth investigating which students can explore passionately. Overall students should avoid Extended Essay questions that can be quickly answered as well.
- Make sure all the data needed to develop the paper are readily available or can be made easily accessible. Without being able to interact with these resources, it is best to choose a different topic.
- Avoid including irrelevant material and sources at all cost.
- Do not ignore the Extended Essay Assessment Criteria and references your resources accordingly as to dodge the deadly bullet called plagiarism.
- Do not turn the assignment into a summary or a simple report depicting a given set of facts. Construct it in such a way so that analyzing the Extended Essay Research Question remains the star of the show.
- Stay clear of repeating the introduction in the conclusion as it is unacceptable for this particular assignment.
- Never cite sources that are not included in the bibliography.
Secret Tips and Tricks: Find The Perfect Balance For Your Extended Essay Research Question Quite often students tend to
struggle when trying to create their
perfect Extended Essay questions. The issue arises due to the topics needing to be broad enough so writing 4,000 words for them is not an issue but at the same time make sure they are narrowed down to keep them from turning into books. A great example is history students who are passionate about
World War II (
WWII) seeking to create their topics. It is easily understood that choosing to write about the impact the war had on Europe is primarily a book in itself. Thus it is better to look at it from a
different perspective. One can instead narrow it down to the impact WWII had on the performance of German military forces from 1945-1950.
As easy as it might sound in this Extended Essay guide, the best way to go about perfecting your topic is by brainstorming
multiple alternatives which seem attractive. Some students work better with Extended Essay topics requiring pupils to make some sort of comparison. But how could one apply that in such a scenario? It is essential to keep in mind that if choosing to do so we must find a form of comparison tailored to enrich the context. Thus, in our case, we can take a look at how a country such as Britain saw the German military in the time period selected. Overall we would now have researched two different sources that come to offer opposing viewpoints in our Extended Essay Outline. For example, a German source would describe the militaries lack of strength as increasing local civil unrest instead of helping maintain peace. While on the other hand, the British source would illustrate how the state of the German military had to remain this way since they had proven to be a threat to the international security of Europe twice in less than 50 years.
Avoid using comparisons unless they are genuinely relevant to the Extended Essay Topics being developed. If you are still unsure whether a specific comparison can match your topic the best thing to do is to consult the academic advisor.
Avoid Picking Up Extravagant Topics, Stick To Writing About Something You Really Enjoy So how does one go about finding their passion for writing a fantastic Extended Essay? Quite often the answer is staring us right in the face.
Despite how demanding the IB Diploma Programme can be, eventually, we all find a class that helps relieve some of the pressure since everything comes to you naturally. It is highly recommended throughout this Extended Essay Guide that students pursue their passions since they will end up spending a lot of time working on the assignment. An unexpected benefit which can come from writing an fantastic Extended Essay is obtaining a scholarship by using it as a term of reference in interviews.
Let’s assume that by now you’ve discovered the most suitable subject for your Extended Essay. If it is English A1 then apparently it will involve researching what books literal motifs can create a fascinating comparison. Start by brainstorming, as previously mentioned, to narrow it down to a manageable margin or list of possible options. Usually the fastest way to complete the Extended Essay outline is by looking at what your favorite chapters were in that book or course and why. However, try not to spend more than 2 hours on this process at most to obtain satisfactory results. If it seems to need more time then perhaps it is best to consider choosing a different Extended Essay topic.
Choose the Best Possible Academic Advisor: When looking to pick an academic supervisor for your Extended Essay topic, it is essential to keep a few things in mind.
First off, you have to convince them to supervise your Extended Essay early on since other students might want to seek out this particular teacher as well. In a sense, it is first come, first served. Some might require candidates to submit an Extended Essay outline before being accepted, but it is always worth it. Doing so ensures one does not end up with a random supervisor who is not passionate about the Extended Essay topic itself. Another crucial thing to value is selecting a tutor who is willing to take the time to go through several Extended Essay drafts and include an extensive set of notes on what can be improved. However, with that being said the IBO states explicitly that while advisors are allowed to suggest improvements to students Extended Essay topics they can not directly engage in writing up changes for it. Thus, one can understand why there is such a high demand for a detailed Extended Essay Guide. Overall the academic advisor should spend between two to three hours with the candidate discussing the intricacies of their Extended Essay topic. In essence, the process makes the students choice quite crucial since if they pick a teacher they have no connection to, this individual might not push the student to their limits. Thus, that is why in this Extended Essay Guide we recommend pupils always select a teacher you have worked with before either in class or during an extracurricular activity.
So what are the keys to getting the best possible academic advisor for any Extended Essay Topics again?
- Pick an advisor that will motivate you and push you to the limit.
- Make sure you get in touch with them early on, so they are not overburdened.
- Submit an agreement form if necessary.
- Always ask if they are willing to take the time and review multiple drafts.
- Avoid choosing one's favorite teacher to be the advisor, UNLESS what they teach is directly related to the Extended Essay topic.
Starting Sooner Is Always Better Than Later As dull as it might sound by now, it cannot be stressed enough by any Extended Essay Guide. But as evident as it might be, there is always something a lot more fun to do in high school than coming up with Extended Essay topics. However, regardless of how confident one is in their academic skills and ability to write up assignments quickly, it is nearly impossible to produce a convincing 4,000-word essay in a week or less and expect a good grade. As previously mentioned in the Extended Essay Guide the task requires students to read multiple articles, books, plays, or even watch several documentaries. Thus, unless one decides to
buy an essay from our service, the sooner one gets started, the faster they can finish.
Despite the universal IBO curriculum, not all institutions have the same deadlines. Meaning some schools will want them handed in as early as November from their Senior year class while others will have to submit theirs by February at the latest. Usually, the task deadlines will be provided to you in advance during the student's Junior Year. Nonetheless, if this has not come up the best thing to do is talk to the IB coordinator and find a useful Extended Essay Guide.
Having mentioned it several times throughout this Extended Essay Guide, we will provide you with an ideal timetable which students can use to plan out this paper:
*
Note: The timeline is tailored, so everything is done in advance before everything is due to help relieve some of the pressure. Establishing a clear structure is half the battle Visibly the IB loves the use of an
organized Extended Essay structure. A smart way to approach such a challenge, as indicated by our Extended Essay Guide, is to have a clear introduction (
2 pages max), research question, main body (
up to 18 pages max usually), conclusion (
1 page) and a robust, reliable set of references (separate page). Steer clear of coming up with an ambiguous abstract confusing the examiner more rather than give them a good understanding of what is to come in the Extended Essay structure.
Since the Extended Essay Guide indicates the main body will take up the most space, it is best to split it up into several components or elements. This way it is easier to define one’s Extended Essay outline, especially if it is a comparison. However, for those looking to conduct various experiments, it is best to follow the scientific method style. Meaning the Extended Essay outline
begins by
explaining the research
question, describing the research methods that will be used to collect data, present the data, analyze the data, present all the possible uncertainties the experiment carries and lastly evaluate the success of the research in the form of a conclusion.

One of the most significant trends shaping the stock market today is the growing interest in AI. This technology, which enables machines to mimic human intelligence, is revolutionizing various sectors, and the stock market is no exception.
The Nasdaq 100 Index, which comprises the 100 largest tech stocks on the Nasdaq, has seen a significant jump, largely driven by the hype around AI. This surge is contrasted by the Dow Jones Industrial Index’s performance, which has been muted, to say the least. This divergence is indicative of the market stress that often occurs during bear markets and early-stage bull markets when doubts are still prevalent.
Investors have been piling money into the AI trade, concentrating market gains into a few companies. These include Apple, Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, Tesla, and Nvidia. They account for the majority of the Nasdaq 100’s $4 trillion growth in market valuation this year. Apple and Microsoft alone have each gained more in value than the entire bottom 93 stocks.
The Impact of AI on Penny Stocks
While AI mania has primarily benefited large-cap tech stocks, it has also created opportunities for investors interested in cheap stocks. Penny stocks, typically defined as stocks trading for less than $5 per share, offer the potential for significant returns, albeit with a higher risk profile.
Several small-cap software and chip companies have been riding the AI wave, producing outsized returns. These companies, while not as well-known as their larger counterparts, are playing a crucial role in the AI revolution, providing the tools and technologies that enable AI applications.
Investors interested in penny stocks have begun considering companies in the AI space. These companies, while riskier than established tech giants, have offered the potential for significant returns in the short term.
Tech Penny Stocks To Watch
We discussed several tech and AI penny stocks today as shares of companies like NVIDIA ($NVDA) and C3AI (AI) surged. But those weren’t the only cheap stocks making moves. In fact, several began climbing after the stock market closed on Tuesday:
Trust Stamp ($IDAI)
Lately, shares of companies with any sort of exposure to this niche in tech have climbed higher on speculation. Trust Stamp ($IDAI), an identity technology company, is providing AI-powered trust and ID services across a number of sectors. Last week, the company announced a patent allowance by the USPTO titled “Systems and processes for lossy biometric representation,” which expanded Trust Stamps’ current IP portfolio. While no further updates have come out since then, the speculative environment for AI stocks has brought attention to IDAI stock.
Near Intelligence ($NIR)
data intelligence company, Near Intelligence ($NIR) saw its share price climb after hours on Tuesday. The penny stock has hovered “near” its 52-week lows for the last week. In its most recent earnings update, Anil Mathews, CEO of Near explained, “I believe that Near is well-positioned to continue to deliver products that our customers rely on to provide insights that help them make better decisions. Looking to the future, we believe our high-quality data, coupled with generative AI, will allow our customers to get the maximum value out of data without sacrificing privacy.”
But what has traders taking a closer look, may have more to do with insider actions than words. This month, Directors Mark Greene and Kathryn Petralia purchased over 50,000 shares, collectively. The average prices of their purchases were in the range of $1.88 to $2.
Peraso Inc. ($PRSO)
Semiconductor stocks have also gained interest in the stock market recently and Peraso Inc. ($PRSO) is on that list. The company develops products offering a number of applications, including mmWave 5G and fixed wireless access.
Video streaming, untethered augmented reality, virtual reality, and extended reality are also capable through Peraso’s offerings. The company recently beat earnings estimates for both EPS and sales during the first quarter. Furthermore, attention may have focused on the company’s plans for the year ahead.
In a Q1 update, CEO Ron Glibbery said, “Our near-term focus remains on expanding Peraso’s leadership in mmWave FWA, as wireless ISPs (WISP) seek to aggressively deploy multi-gigabit connectivity in the unlicensed 60 GHz spectrum to secure share of a rapidly growing subscriber base. In addition, we continue to see encouraging signs of traction on prospective engagements for 5G mmWave applications, with multiple tier-one equipment vendors targeting future FWA deployments worldwide.”
The Influence of the Debt Ceiling on the Stock Market
Another significant factor influencing the stock market is the ongoing negotiations in Washington D.C. to raise the debt ceiling. The debt ceiling, which is the maximum amount of debt that the U.S. government can incur, has been a contentious issue in recent years, with disagreements over the ceiling leading to government shutdowns and market volatility.
The tentative agreement to suspend the debt ceiling until June 2025, if approved by Congress, will allow the U.S. government to pay its bills and avoid a technical default. This development has been seen as removing a potential catastrophic negative from the market, allowing investors to focus on other factors.
The Future of the Stock Market
Despite the mixed performance, the market’s future trajectory remains uncertain. Factors such as the Federal Reserve’s next move, the outcome of the debt ceiling negotiations, and the continued interest in AI will likely play a significant role in shaping the market’s future.
Investors, particularly those interested in penny stocks, should keep a close eye on these developments. Understanding these influences and trends will be crucial in making informed investment decisions.

2023.05.31 05:25 Crypto_US_Tax Is Collectible Wine the Key to Understanding What Makes Bitcoin Unique? – Bitcoin and 1945 Chateau Mouton Rothschild (Article 21 of 52)
This is one article in a collection of 52 articles published weekly throughout 2023 on the basics of Bitcoin. The series is intended for people unfamiliar with Bitcoin or people wishing to enhance their understanding of the fundamentals that underpin the technology. Please [contact us](mailto:
[email protected]), if you have any questions or comments.
One of the biggest challenges for people entering the crypto space is distinguishing Bitcoin from all of the other cryptocurrencies that have entered the ecosystem since Bitcoin’s creation. The temptation for newcomers is to invest in the “next” Bitcoin. The appeal is frequently being able to accumulate more of the “next” Bitcoin because of the lower price. However, this strategy is bound to fail. Perhaps the simplest way to understand this is by looking at collectible wine.
The three basic ingredients for wine are simple. All that is needed are grapes (or some other fruit-based fermentable sugar), yeast, and water. Anyone in the world can easily access these items. Similarly, the code necessary to create a cryptocurrency is readily available. Bitcoin’s code is open source and the barrier to entry is almost nonexistent. In fact, many of the cryptocurrencies that have come into existence since Bitcoin have piggybacked on Bitcoin’s code with the slightest modification.
A bottle of
1945 Chateau Mouton Rothschild is widely considered one of the, if not the, wines of the century. There are myriad factors that have made the 1945 Chateau Mouton Rothschild impossible to replicate and one of the most sought-after wines ever created. First, the soil conditions in the area are truly one of a kind and a late frost on May 4, 1945 killed the early stages of the vine leading to lower production than usual. Additionally, the vineyard was fortunate enough to have Baron Philippe de Rothschild present to supervise the harvest. Baron was returning from Britain where he had fled after escaping from prison (he was being held as a result of his Jewish heritage). Many vineyards in the proximity which experienced similar favorable weather conditions were not as fortunate to have the workers look after the harvest as a result of World War II which was just concluding. In fact, the label on the bottle has a “V” for victory to mark the conclusion of the war! Finally, only 75,000 bottles were ever made of the legendary wine. Through the years many bottles have been consumed making this collectible wine scarcer. Those who were fortunate enough to hold onto this treasured wine have seen it mature into an almost priceless piece of history.
Similar to a bottle of 1945 Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Bitcoin has become the most collectible cryptocurrency ever created. While there is nothing unique about its code compared to other cryptocurrencies in the space, the success of Bitcoin has been impossible for all other cryptocurrencies to replicate since its creation. Bitcoin benefitted from the unique incubator system in which it was launched where the idea of a decentralized currency was paramount to the profit motives that are pervasive with the new cryptocurrencies being created at an astonishing rate today. In fact, Satoshi has never spent any of the bitcoin, currently valued at over
$31.5 billion with today’s price, he mined in the early days of Bitcoin for a profit motive! While new bitcoin continues to be mined approximately every 10 minutes, all of the bitcoin are fungible and can be thought of as new bottles of the collectible wine being released to the public.
While some compare Bitcoin to
the AOL of crypto, the more apt comparison is Bitcoin is the 1945 Chateau Mouton Rothschild of the industry. The incredibly rare conditions that existed when Satoshi bottled the 2009 vintage cryptocurrency cannot be replicated again. Just like a wine collector would not go to Trader Joe’s to find the next 1945 Chateau Mouton Rothschild, a person looking for a valuable cryptocurrency to invest should not attempt to discover the next Bitcoin by investing in the latest, greatest cryptocurrency. And, truthfully, that’s probably insulting to Trader Joe’s wine. When it comes to Bitcoin, just as is true with the 1945 Chateau Mouton Rothschild, there are no replacements.

So I’ve had my dads coin collection since he died in 99. I’m moving and decided to get rid of a bunch of stuff. I honestly don’t know what all is in the collection books. I know all the coins were minted before 1970. I know he had Buffalo nickels and liberty dimes and wheat pennies and stuff. I’d say probably around 100 coins. I think a few are from the early 1900’s.
I know no one here can tell me exactly how much they are worth or anything like that. Especially since there are so many factors. But realistically am I looking at tens of dollars or hundreds? Or should I just keep them as they aren’t worth anything?
