it's very basic , but this is the format I use for the our people who wants to go for foreign employment.

Around a year ago, I (25M) made a new friend (23M.) We hit it off instantly and in no time became in my inner circle of friends. I am part of a community project that offers trainings sessions for a specific field, and since he fits the sought after profile, we were both looking forward for him to participate in our next session, and I would be in the organisation team. Because of other engagements, I could not be involved in this session, so I didn't have any role, and I wished him a pleasant experience without me. Coincidentally, he was not selected for the residential training and was as a result pissed off. He claims that he was guaranteed to get in, and there was only one loophole for it not to happen: me. He threatened to use his connections to make a halt to the project as a whole, to which I said it would compromise not only my professional engagement but relationships I've created with my colleagues as well. I added that if he purposefully managed to harm the project, that my relationship with him (platonic) would also be compromised. He said he felt angry and betrayed, and that he didn't care about these relationships.
One thing we share: I also felt betrayed. I didn't think he would so easily give up on our friendship, and what's more, it's based on a false assumption/accusation. Trust is very important to me, and now I don't feel trusted, which hurts. When we had this conversation, I shared my disappointment in that he won't do something he was looking forward to, and that I understand he is upset. I did not engage further with what I consider threats because I thought (or hoped?) he did not really mean it. After all, we all sometimes say hurtful things to the people we love.
This happened five days ago,
Should I contact him again first or let him process his emotions at his own pace and wait for him to text me back himself ? If it comes down to if and I realise he really does not trust me or does not value our relationship, should I keep him in my inner circle, as a casual friend, or not at all ?
TL;DR: My (25M) friend (23M) is angry at me because he thinks I acted against his favour. He threatened my project and said he doesn't care about our relationship anymore (1 year long, intimate friendship.) It's been five days. Should I text him or wait for him to do so ? Should I continue to invest in this friendship ?

So, we got a new macerating toilet in the basement (ascent II, liberty pumps) and when the plumber installed it we immediately noticed that the water level in the toilet bowl seems really low. Plumber says that's just how these toilets are designed; more efficient water usage. Well that's great, I'm all for saving water, but the problem is, the toilet bowl gets nasty pretty quick... I dunno how into detail I need to describe this, but basically you end up with shit smears on the bowl, above the water line in the bowl, and flushing doesn't help. It's just a poor design, in my opinion. A quick Google search shows that a few other people have asked the Internet about this, and the general response is, "yeah, it is what it is. No way to raise the water level in your toilet bowl, have fun cleaning your toilet every time you take a dump!"
So, here's my question. I get that I can't raise the water level in the toilet bowl, but is there another solution? My wife was thinking about coating the bowl in Vaseline or something, so that poop wouldn't stick to the bowl so much, but I figure 1. That would only maybe help for a couple of flushes, and 2. That might not be good for the pump/macerator?
Only other thought I had was to put down some tp in the bowl before you use it, but that's kind of a waste of toilet paper.

Hi, I'm getting only 20mb/s random Q1T1 writes in a new WD Blue SN570 compared with benchmarks on the Internet where users got 200mb/s, similar with Q32T1 where I get about 50% of the value in benchmarks. So, should I be concerned, and can I fix it somehow, or is something else bottlenecking the drive?
SEQ1M Q8T1 speed is basically the same as in the benchmarks, while the sequential Q1T1 write is also slower

Hey all, so I just started a new job in the field of PPC as a specialist and I’m super excited about it. Upon chatting with my manager about the campaigns and asking questions they told me that they don’t use conversion actions across any of the campaigns. After I did an audit for several of them, I noticed that the campaigns are maximized for clicks and that is the main goal for their clients, to get clicks to their partner websites so that users can then read content and either click on other ads that display there.
The campaigns that I will be managing are RSA standard campaigns and DSA campaigns. While I don’t want to be that guy who recommends to my team to use conversion actions being the newbie, I feel like they will get better results. But perhaps I could be wrong. Since they are optimizing all the campaigns for clicks, and not conversions is it necessary to still set up conversion actions? Especially being that the main KPI they are tracking are clicks, impressions, CTR.

So, I have had mental health problems for a long time, stemming from a long history of abuse, neglect and trauma; from childhood into adulthood. Last night I had an "episode" unlike any I can remember. It came on suddenly and I was really afraid I was going to kill myself.
This is new - not the wanting to top myself (This has been normal for so long) - but the being afraid that I would do it.
Usually I just harm myself in some way, like I deserve, and believe I'm worthless. This time, the worthlessness was not there and I guess what I experienced was something more like a healthy person would feel if they suddenly had suicidal thoughts come from nowhere.
So I called emergency services and went to hospital. The people who helped me were just lovely, reassuring in exactly the way I needed them to be. I've never called an ambulance for myself like that, never asked for help, never felt worthy of help.
I was home again within a few hours and nobody at home knows what happened. My face is swollen from crying continually for 6 hours but other than that, I'm absolutely fine right now.
I've always found this group to be so supportive so I'm sharing here. I'm not even sure why. Maybe it can help someone see that things can change. Even though I had a truly horrible night, I can see the progress in caring about myself enough to reach out and ask for help. I can recognise my own bravery in feeling ashamed and afraid but still being honest. Change is really fucking hard, especially when part of your brain wants to kill you. Gaining self-worth is painful apparently. Hopefully worth it though.

Hey y’all! I’m fairly new to hard synths and got myself a Moog Grandmother about two months ago. I’ve been playing it just solo through a studio monitor and it sounds great. However yesterday, I tracked it against a song for the first time, which was an eye opening experience.
Even though I fine tuned the synth, had the oscillators as in tune as I could get them, had the synth powered on for a while, I was noticing audible pitch drift as I ran the MIDI performance through the synth. It never got a full half step out of tune, but here and there sounded like a quarter step out of tune. It was a bass line that had repetitive notes which made it more obvious.
Anyway, I read things like “oh back in the day, Mini Moogs could get so out that you couldn’t even play them, but modern analog synths are so stable it’s never a problem”. I had always taken comments like that to mean that you’d never hear any pitch drift at all on a modern analog synth.
Not complaining, was just very surprised. I mean the drift definitely gave it the “alive” character, and it was easy enough to overdub the notes that were really out.
I had tracked a Bass Station II a long time ago and don’t remember hearing audible drift then, but I know that that synth has DCOs, so maybe that’s why?
Is everyone else getting this much drift from their modern analog synth?

I'm looking to build a new gaming system, but I'm having trouble getting my head around all the CPU and Motherboard configurations and numbers. I've read a lot of reviews and the current Ryzen 7 5700X in my list seems to be good value for money at the moment - and I kind of just selected parts from there. I was hoping to build something that has a semi-decent future life for games, but without being too high end. My budget is about AUD$1700 (which I'm pretty close to already) but like everyone, I wouldn't mind saving a few bucks where possible. Am I aiming too high with the 5700X?

I honestly am in utter disbelieve how people cannot understand this: Yes, the current car centric infrastructure and urban planning are bad. But you will not be able to create a world without cars, roads and personal vehicles.
Because, guess what: Emergency vehicles still are going to need access. If you just remove all the roads, they are not going to have that. Which would mean more people are gonna die.
Maintanance vehicles, too, will need access. No, your local electrician will not want to put all his equipment on like three cargo bikes, to fix your wiring. The local plumber does not want that, either.
And when you move houses for one reason or another, you will probably also not be doing that via public transport or cargo bike.
And while absolutely the goal should be mostly locally sourced food, not all food will be locally sourced and that needs to be transported, too.
We will hopefully be able to cut down on car use. Massively. By building out public transport. But that public transport will also include busses, that again, will need to use roads.
Both things can be true at once: We need to move away from car centric urban planning - but we will never be able to move away entirely from cars and roads.
I live in Germany. Some of the German islands have (for conservation reasons) banned cars. But even those islands have ambulances, police cars, a truck for fire fighters and also like two trucks to bring food from the local harbor to the supermarket. They have roads, too, because it turns out roads make for better biking than cobble stone.
