Only have 30 days to register cars/new ID’s but next available appointment was July 6th. Figure i’ll go on saturday to try and get my ID so I can go to the county assessor to get my tax exemptions for registration. How bad is it on saturdays? is there one i’d have better luck at over the others?
Also what’s the late fee’s? I’m assuming they’ll still charge me those even though they are appointment only and backed up 1.5 months

What's going on?
A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
What's the plan?
On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.
What can you do?

1. Complain. Message the mods of reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: message reddit: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on reddit, such as this one, leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
2. Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join us at our sister sub at ModCoord - but please don't pester mods you don't know by simply spamming their modmail.
3. Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
4. Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible.

This post is a bit ranty... I'm not looking a specific answer, I'm just reaching the Linux community for some guidance and maybe someone will know what I could do. If this isn't the place for that, just delete my post.
I'm a linux n00b (well, I had few experience back in the early days of free Ubuntu DVDs)
I'm not a fanboy of anything, I HATE Windows but it just works [kind of like a Bethesta game, expect bugs and you don't want to use it stock], I'm a graphic designer and should have a Mac because that's how it works, don't ask questions, but despite the big win with the ARM transition, everything Apple do is against my values. Forget "Think Different", it's now think like we want you to think and pay for premium unrepairable hardware that all look the same and get ready to pay subsciptions every software.
It's not a surprise that I really LOVE having something custom, and you don't need to convince me that Linux is the best for that. Having used a Chromebook for few years just give me a big itch: what if I would have my own made (customized) slim linux OS?
I still have a big barrier though, I will never be good at coding or using the command line. It's not a question of skills, just my limitations of poor attention, trouble with reading - especially stuff that isn't in a sentence. \**

Disclamer over, I bought six months ago a NUC-like small PC (Intel N5105 SoC based) with the goal of making my own debuts in a homelab setup. It's a low-end system, but it should be quite enough for a Home Assistant and mini NAS build for a one user and 3 room appartment.
But before attempting to do so I took 3 months to test the hell out of Linux and doing plenty of stuff with over 20 distro and testing DWMs and making my first steps with virtualisation. I swear, I passed over 150 hours on this small box which was ironic because I purchased at the same time a new laptop (Ryzen 7 6800H 8c16t and an OLED screen) and it sat there unused beside work because I was just having too much fun with linux on my micro-PC. So I decided to buy a second mini-PC because after all, the first one was supposed to be used as a server.

This is when the fun ended.

The new mini-PC was a better one with NVME, 2.5GBit NIC and the USB-C port even support PD all this because of the new N95 SoC with faster clocks and more cache (don't ask me why Intel named N95/N100 as the sucessor of the N5095/N5105). This is amazing, I get a better mini-PC and even paid LESS than the previous one on top of that. But it have a new iGPU... Putting salt on the wound, the N95 have less CU than the N5105 and might even perform less, but you know, usefull or not, it's a 12gen GPU, not an 11gen so... it's just a blackscreen generator to me right now.
Funny how every article or video about "why Linux is better than..." basically have a cut/paste lie saying that unlike Windows, Linux don't need drivers* *^{except in special cases were the device manufacturers don't give a F\} about Linux (ie: Nvidia, Apple, etc).) It's not true, even a newbe like me know that Linux DOES have drivers, but being based on a monolitic kernel the drivers are built into the kernel or patched. Otherwise, you are screwed. On Windows, you have nothing to do when the graphic driver isn't found, you will always get a display output. Even more, the new default software based graphic driver in Windows is now able to run Crysis on a Threadripper because it's a fully functionnal driver that just run VERY slow/inneficient on the CPU, I'm lost for words.
So there I am, a Linux newbie that is stuck with a useless computer that is stuck with an effing black screen on 90% of distros and even if I can use legacy display mode or NodeModeSet, I'm bound to have issues because even when I'm in legacy mode, the computer can freeze randomly and the biggest issue: the first liveboot works but once installed or configured with persistance, it goes stright to the blackscreen right away, I don't even have a GRUB menu sometime. I don't have the knowelge to compile my own kernel or whatever you call patching the ISO, Debian based distros being my favorite scare me as Bookworm beta distro don't fix the issue.
I'm really stuck guys. I have a paperwight box on my desktop (The fact that Windows is perfectly stable don't count here) and cannot play with it. I could still return it to Amazon and buy the last gen one for the same price (maybe even more actually) because as I heard quite often in the Linux Comunity: Linux is better on the last gen, or a very old gen since I could get pretty much any old quadcore i5 have have the same CPU performance but using 75% more energy and none of the new tech...
Going from the discovery of the fun you can have with Linux even if you are a newbie because despite few setbacks and some distros that didn't work, everything sill went smootly but now I'm unable to use Linux and even if I would defeat the problem on one distro, I cannot easily jump to another like before this is just like hitting an extreme hike of difficulty in a game. I'm not having fun of being challenged anymore, I just rage quit.
** (Despite having software engeenering or networking as a dream job when I was a kid, I have a BIG limitation: I have a bad mix of ADHD, some dislexia, bad memory and trouble with reading numbers. It's a bunch of little things but the way I am, it become a real handicap. That make command lines my second worst enemy and writting/reading code the first because it's like as if I ran out of RAM to understand what is between { }. So the only reason I can use Linux is because of the power of Google and the amazing ressources you can find online. I remember before learning my diagnostic that I was still trying to reach my dream when I got the opportunity to buy my first real computer by buying an IBM server with Dual PII-333MHz and SCSI drives. I remember people making fun of me for having two CPU cores, that was just few years before the arrival of the Pentium-D / Athon64x2 (that aged like milk). This is when I learned that WindowsNT was a block of Swiss Cheese and I should learn Linux lol too bad I was better at bricking installations in few hours because I was totally clueless and wasn't good at Googling yet)

I have the prototype PK gloves, and also the high quality WT ones.
I'm thinking it is better to make the high quality WT ones my main hook gloves as they give more speed. But I'm unsure which is better with the lab addition. I'm new back to the game so if anyone has any pearls of wisdom that would be great.
I was thinking use the prototype hook gloves for speed benefit with one of my other chars for maybe uppercut? My basic idea was all secondary gloves as speed or mega. Then main gloves as a speed up in that specific punch

I had a 5 gallon kit tank sitting around so about 8 months ago I set it up on a dresser near my window, just tossed random plant clippings into it and filled it with water, I pay zero attention to the tank, never tested the water or added food, I never turn the light on, no filter no heater, and the only care it gets is topping the water off every couple months when I notice it's getting kinda low.
Lo and behold today as I was over in that corner of my room I looked into the tank and found a full grown super deep red cherry shrimp.
It's probably not a surprise to people who keep shrimp when they manage to hitch rides between tanks, but I'm just amazed by the survivability of this little guy, the tank is directly next to a window and my insulation kinda sucks, so the water was definitely super cold during the winter months, and yet this dude not only managed to survive but he/she's huge.
With this revelation, I've just added an internal filter into the tank with old media, and some drift wood for him/her to graze on, I'll probably add some shrimp from my main tank in with them in the near future, but I'm a tad concerned about the temp difference, it's a full 10 degrees colder than my other tanks.
Apologies for the rant, but this is probably the most exciting thing shrimp/fish related that's happened to me in months and I had to share.

I've been an on and off player since beta, usually coming back every couple leagues to be overwhelmed with new mechanics for a while before figuring out what the new meta for skills/maps/endgame strats are. I've hit a wall this league not quite knowing what I should be doing and I need some opinions/ideas on what to do to take advantage of endgame mechanics that I don't know too much about.
I'm a 95 rf jugg that, with the power creep, is the strongest build I've ever had. Most of the bosses except shapeelder are new to me but the build seems to hold its own against them, and honestly the fights often come down to my skill letting me down rather than my build if I die. I have 2 voidstones but keep dying to mavens last phase and I think uber elder is a bit above my pay grade so I know I should be aiming for all 4 as one of my goals.
Last time i played we set up sextants on maps and ran broken combos but the atlas and sextants have changed so I'm a bit lost on what to aim for here. I've changed my atlas tree at least 10 times trying different mechanics but always seem to settle on expedition/blight with searing exarch/eater of worlds and other boss map drop nodes mixed in. I'm not sure if this is optimal or even worth running since spamming t16s doesn't feel like I'm taking advantage of what I can actually do? Should I be saving frags and running uber bosses or is it better to spam t16s/regular bosses and sell frags? Also I hear a lot about sacred Grove but haven't really bothered with it; is it worth running and selling, saving for crafts or should I not bother at all?
Any advice on what I should be doing now would be great, I'm kinda lost and spamming t16s with expedition/blight atlas nodes doesn't feel like the best way to go.

So long story short my information was included in a security breach at my local hospital where things like address, phone number, etc, were accessed from patients files. I know my main concern SHOULD be scammers or identity theft but having an abusive ex who knows the kind of people smart enough and sleazy enough to find that info if it's out there and send him my way. I can lock down my credit sign up for monitoring for identity theft etc but what I can't find ANY info on is if there's a way to protect myself from HIM getting my info. I have gone ghost in every possible aspect I can to protect myself from him but apparently that means jackshit because people are hacking fkn patient files. I mean, I KNOW scammers and hackers aren't the most MORAL people on the planet but couldn't we agree that a medical file containing my personal medical info, diagnoses, and medications is off limits?!? It's not like there aren't a billion other places they could get the info from did it REALLY have to be the one place that also contains my ENTIRE medical history?!?

so my girlfriend and i had a conflict one night, it was complicated. we had a really good day, everything was going super well, and then one night i inadvertently triggered her past trauma. i said something i would consider pretty ordinary when we got home from a party, and it erupted into this huge dogpile of abuse that left me incapacitated for days. i couldn't think anymore, i felt lost, i didn't really remember who i was. she called me names, she publicly humiliated me, she broke up with me, she used past men against me to make me jealous, and she created a tinder account the same night. this tsunami of emotions really broke me down. i lived through a bad past relationship where trust issues and betrayal were common, i was cheated on numerous times. all this ended up triggering my past experiences of betrayal and trust issues. the next day, i still felt a lot of residue from the conflict. i felt hurt and pain, i felt anger, i felt like i couldn't trust her. we tried to reconcile, but it didn't really work. she showed me the tinder account, which was still active, and it just hurt even more. as things somewhat diffused throughout the day, i couldn't help this nagging feeling about the tinder account, so i logged into her phone to check if she had deleted it. i just felt like a changed person, like i couldn't trust her anymore. she did delete it, but she still had the app on her phone. all this to say is that i feel really guilty about doing it. i didn't tell her what i did at the time because i knew it would just create a spiral of destruction and make the situation worse. what is even more complicated is that now that i feel like i should tell her, i know that it could be triggering...people who raised her used to snoop on her phone, which created a lot of trauma for her. i should have been thinking about that at the time, but i just couldn't. i felt like i was in self-protection mode, like the closest person to me i couldn't trust anymore. now i feel like i have to battle myself, wondering if honesty is the best route in a situation where it could do more harm than good. for the record, i did not look at anything other than the tinder account. i didn't look at social media or texts or any conversations that she has on there. if you were in my position, what would be your advice? thanks

My friend's birthday is coming up, he will be 36 in a few weeks. I'm new to this sub so I will just list some things about him.
He's a very straight forward/logical thinking kinda guy. Idk if that makes sense, idk how to explain it properly.
He works in a digital design kinda thing, but he will soon become 90% remote working, and is getting his new office renovated.
He likes cars, he has 3 and a motorcycle.
Not very much into gaming, likes disc golf. He likes to workout and swim a lot as well.
He likes to meal prep and cook new recipes.
He has trouble sleeping, him and his wife have separate blankets because in his own words they're both blanket hogs.
He likes to do a lot of home projects.

I think I have it.
I have an insanely vivid imagination, when I look at objects my brain automatically starts visualizing its insides/outside and its functioning in 3D.
I come into rooms and start looking at objects like paintings that were always there and then I ask my parents about them for seemingly no reason. I do that with everything. I notice things that others don't and then I start thinking about a hundred questions in a second.
It's like my brain looks at something and starts asking a chain of 'why' questions indefinitely until either something else comes up, or I stumble upon a dead end.
Do you guys think these constant questions that arise from the increased depth in sensitivity towards new stimuli is what makes people gifted?
It says on the web that Low Latent Inhibition occurs both in people with high and low IQ as well. However, there is a difference in how the symptoms manifest, in subjects with a lower IQ, the increased attention to new stimuli is overwhelming and the person ends up suffering from the condition which causes them hypersensitivity (apparently autism, not sure if it's only certain types or all types of autism).
On Wikipedia it says it's symptoms resemble vastly those of ADHD, hyper activity or hypomania can look very similar to LLI.
However, when the person has low latent inhibition as well as a high IQ, they end up being able to cope with the increased stimuli overflow and end up being highly creative and maybe even gifted. (as a side note, Michael Schofield has it in Prison Break, which is why he is so smart apparently)
Perhaps, LLI is responsible for Autism, ADHD and giftedness, it's all the same thing but just manifested/coped with differently? What do you guys think of this?

So my girlfriends bsf came over and I was on the phone with my girlfriend before and I was saying I’m gonna get off the phone at a certain point but I stayed up till her bsf got there, and once her bsf arrived I hung up and then she called back again but I didn’t question and they were trying to light a candle, and I told her if you hold it upside ur gonna 🔥 ur finger and she ignored me but I didn’t question and she did and as predicted she 🔥 her finger, so I told them to hold the candle sideways they ignored me and I had to keep saying it until they finally did, her bsf then said I’m sped and then my girlfriend laughed at it, and then she messaged me saying it was ajoke then her bestfriend took the phone and said I’m insecure and need to man up, and then I got a message saying she’s gonna 🔥 the gift and I said I doubt (my girlfriend name) would let you do that just to find out my girlfriend said that and then I was I just really dumbfounded from that, and I asked my girlfriend why r u choosing wrong over right and she said everybody knows ur not suppose to chose ur bf over ur bsf and I said I would chose the right side not the wrong side and she said it’s my bsf ur not suppose to and I was just completely at shock, then she says nobody’s right which I don’t understand I did nothing to her then she went nobody’s wrong 10 minutes after and I was just over it atp, and then she was trying super hard to defend her bsf and said that’s her humor and you don’t know her humor and let alone if I don’t her why would she say something like that to anybody she doesn’t know or anybody in general, and I said it wasn’t funny and my girlfriend said it was funny, so I said well she looks like a man and she said don’t talk about my bsf like that or we are over and I just went "nah" at that point cuz that’s when I realized she was just holding a double standard, so I asked some friends (told them the story) and asked them is that ok and they said no and said I should break up with her if she would let her bsf do shi like that and get away with it, but I didn’t listen cuz I love the girl to much. and she even admitted to what her bsf did was wrong but she still chose her bsf side, and then she said it wasn’t a joke and it wasn’t funny after i called her friend a man after her friend called me a sped kid and she laughed about it and honestly she blew my mind cuz that was the most hypocritical thing I heard in my entire life time and I told her to rethink what she just said and she said and I quote "you aren’t my dad" and then she wrote this whole message that seemed like a break up message but it wasn’t, and then she went I want a break and I didn’t even care atp I had to just stop caring atp and wanted to stop talking, and I asked for how long and she said till Thursday and she said she was going to the pool with her bsf Friday and I said just don’t call me when your with her Friday cuz I wanna avoid the entire thing atp, and she also showed people that know her bsf and said I was at fault? 20 years ago, on 7th June 2003, my wife and I left the two-day Assembly we were attending after the first day never to step into a Kingdom Hall again.
Mind you it took a few years to get to that point. My wife was born into the religion, and I joined when I was 21.
I had been a witness for 29 yrs. and in that time, I served as an elder and then as the Presiding Overseer in our congregation. Along with that, giving talks at assemblies and giving Public Talks at a dozen or so neighboring congregations.

I remember the first time I clicked on the link here in Australia. At that time, we only had dial-up internet and speeds were painfully slow. When I first started downloading the Free Minds site an image of an eye behind bars slowly appeared which scared me so much, I canceled opening the site. I thought Satan was going to infect my computer or myself. After realizing nothing had happened to me in that short period of exposure I clicked again and a whole new world opened to me. I remember reading a testimonial from someone and noticed it was written 5 years ago. I found it difficult to believe that he would not return to being a witness after all this time and noticed he had an email address at the bottom, so I naively wrote to him and asked him are you sure you feel that way still. He wrote a friendly message back affirming his stand and he suggested I read Crisis of Conscience.
Thinking back to that time, there were several events in the late 90s with the organization and our local congregation that started me thinking. Also voluntarily stepping down as an elder and getting off the treadmill helped. However, it was a scripture read by a speaker on the Saturday of the 2-day assembly in June 2003 that pushed me to make the break,
Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who say that good is bad and bad is good, Those who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness, Those who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
Watchtower had joined the United Nations and then lied about their involvement. Watchtower lied about Child Sexual Abuse within the organization. Also, what had happened over the past year in our congregation was the final straw. So, I thought that scripture was the signal for my wife and me to leave. Thankfully, our daughter had left a few years earlier so as a family we were all out.
We decided to fade as we both had elderly mothers that needed our support. So, we made sure we kept our mouths shut around any witnesses. And we were able to care for our mothers up until their deaths.
Now 20 years on we have a 5yr old grandson who celebrates Birthdays and Xmas, has playdates with worldly friends, and has never had a smack not even a tap on the wrist. And is happy and obedient without the threat of the “rod of discipline.”
Religion really screws up families and I feel bad that we were so strict and denied our daughter of being a normal kid and also the joy of celebrating Birthdays and Xmas. On the other hand, it has been the most amazing experience for me to see the expressions of joy in our grandson who by the way at 5 is shocked to hear his mother never celebrated Xmas and would get smacks if naughty.
Reflecting, two red flags I should have heeded.
1, when I was studying the truth book my friend who ended up being baptized with me said “Hey I think these people are the ones that don’t have blood transfusions.”
I thought hey they know the Bible well and must know what’s best for us. Big mistake!

Nobody is discussing the soundtrack but read this when I looked over the soundtrack in YouTube the last time Stellaris had a new soundtrack for a year ago so what up with paradox haven't made a new soundtrack for First Contact and Galactic Paragon it would make sense as story pack and Expansion have soundtrack

Turn of the year, 1520
The unthinkable had happened after the unthinkable had happened. Richard de la Pole, Richard IV, King of England, was dead.
Not long after taking the throne, his campaigning in Wales took him to his grave. In all irony, the same plague of sweating sickness that wore down the Welsh ended Richard. A true Greek tragedy - as Wales bled for Richard, Richard also bled for Wales.
William de la Pole knew in many ways that he was the unlikeliest of Kings. His brother had planned out his rule and found a young bride to give him a son - and William had believed that his brother would be succeeded by that son, not him. William had been locked in the Tower of London for nearly two decades before he was released during the civil war, an innocent man of course, and managed to command armies effectively in Wales during his brother’s campaigning. It was with great shock when the couriers delivered him the news of his brothers passing and his ascension to the throne of England.
Now, many things had to be done. A new privy council was to be selected by him, and quickly. There had been a great number of plans being discussed by Richard and his Lord High Steward, Edward Stafford, the Duke of Buckingham. While he would be replaced by Thomas Howard, Duke of Norfolk and Earl of Surrey. Stafford would be given Lord High Constable as compensation for his many years of service, and a nice salary with it. The new privy council would be slightly shuffled, but largely similar to Richard’s: - Lord High Steward - Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk and Earl of Surrey - Lord High Chancellor - Thomas Wolsey, Archbishop of York - Lord High Treasurer - Henry Courtenay, 1st Marquess of Exeter - Lord President of the Council - George Talbot, 4th Earl of Shrewsbury - Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal - Henry Percy, 5th Earl of Northumberland - Lord Great Chamberlain - John de Vere, 15th Earl of Oxford - Lord High Constable - Edward Stafford, 3rd Duke of Buckingham - Earl Marshal - Thomas Grey, 2nd Marquess of Dorset - Lord High Admiral- Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk
The Clerk of Ships would be Robert Brygandine with his assistant as William Gonson, previously proposed by Stafford. Other plans of Stafford’s would be discussed with Howard to see which would be continuing and which would be altered, or done away with entirely. Any other offices would be filled as soon as practicable.
The succession was an open question to many, William knew. Henry Pole was his current presumed heir, and may make a fine king. But William’s elderly wife, two decades his senior, may prove to not have much life left, and he had heard the rumblings already. He had to think fast were his wife to pass from this earth soon, and get an heir and new wife.
His position felt as tenuous as Richard’s - “The King from the Tower”. His years there had done him no favors, but perhaps he was up to the task of finishing what Richard had started. He had a rebellion to end, and a Kingdom to strengthen.

I'm looking for a new apartment and would like to get an idea of what tenants at various addresses previously paid for electricity, so I'm hopefully surprised by a potential $400 electric bill in an otherwise affordable one-bedroom apartment.

Is there some way to look this information up? I swear I've seen it referenced in past moving threads here, but my search skills must be terrible because nothing is coming up.
