fml. yesterday was the busiest day i have ever worked. it was not a normal saturday because it was the last day of school so a lot of people were out. It was only me and this new guy working so when i got there it was a mess. customers were walking in and online orders were constantly coming in. On top of the rush i had to help the new guy with almost everything so bread was running out and none of the daily tasks were being done.
at one point i got to have my break. it was short cut cause i still had to help the new guy and the ovens were beeping.
the new guy calls me over to the register. i go up there and this was the situation. a customer had a 22€ order. The customer gave a 20€ bill but due to a missclick it went in the register as if he had given 40€. On the screen it said that the change was 18€ so we gave the customer that money back. He looked confused but accepted the money and left. Later on when we had a slower window we started checking out what went wrong. So now i basically gave out 20€ and the sandwiches for free.🤡
we sent out a message to our duty manager telling him that we accidentally gave out 20€ to a customer. (our store manager is on her holiday so hes our manager for now) today i woke up to a message from him asking what went down and i gave him a more detailed version. he read the message and hasnt answered. i have to go to work in like 2 hours and hes there on shift im so scared. this was all my fault cause i was the one that should have been able to think at that moment. i feel paralyzed out of anxiety for whats gonna happen.

Hello dear people, I had a rather usual but unpleasant experience yesterday, which I would like to write about and get off my chest. Maybe some of you can relate or have had similar experiences.
I went to a club alone to dance and talked to really nice people in the queue. During the conversation, I noticed that I was building a wall internally between myself and the people around me, and between my external self and my inner thoughts. It feels as if I'm not really present. Even now, as I write this, I can feel myself tensing my jaw, and a thought, still wordless and formless, hovers above my head. It's almost as if I'm afraid of saying or being something wrong, or being discovered, and that thought takes the form of a destructive sword that hangs over me (is that why they say the sword of Damocles hangs over someone? ^^). Anyway, those were really nice people, but I noticed that at some point, I became quite distant and felt like I shouldn't be there or participate in the casual and relaxed conversations (to make the feeling bearable, I tell myself that the people are uninteresting anyway). I was completely sober that evening, only drank an energy drink, and smoked many cigarettes. As I write now, I feel a strong longing to go back and do things differently, but I know that's not possible. In particular, I would like to tell a young man named Olli that he's really adorable and I find him likable. He exuded a naive innocence that I believe, or at least think, I will NEVER have again and never truly had.
I noticed the feeling of alienation when someone asked for my name. It felt as if that information was somewhere in my mind, or rather in my body, but at that moment, almost like a hard drive error in a computer, it wasn't available. When asked about my current occupation (I'm a student), I could only utter one word: my field of study. No enthusiasm about it, I "forgot" what I do there. It's as if I don't really experience what I do on a daily basis. I had this phenomenon during my bachelor's degree as well. After a day of studying, I would realize on my way home how much I had been clenching my jaw. On that way home, I regularly, if not almost always, had to sit alone in the car for 10 minutes or find a closed quiet place where no one could see me and "shake it off." The shaking off was a ten-minute act, my whole body trembled intensely, my thoughts raced, and although not chaotic, they were not particularly meaningful. At least, I hadn't thought for a long time that it wasn't normal and that I needed help. Even today, I don't have a real sense that I have truly completed (and experienced) my first degree. This is how I feel about many things or events in my life (even complete chapters of life are forgotten or cannot be reached in terms of feelings for this chapter). I engage in strength training at a relatively high level and objectively have the corresponding physical appearance. I occasionally hear comments about it. Only now, at 28, can I slowly believe and accept that people are not lying to me, not trying to take something away from me, not expressing their envy (if at all), not trying to harm me, but simply expressing that they appreciate what I do. This is also valid in other fields, like work-related appreciation or the appreciation of me as a friend to my dearest friends.
In my first relationship, which started when I was 23, a woman told me for the first time, aside from my mother, that she loves me. In that moment, I had a panic attack. Objectively speaking, life is good to me. But, I can rarely form clear thoughts that would bring about a change in my circumstances or accept the present circumstances and see myself and my fellow human beings for what we are: humans, with good sides, weaknesses, lies, and deep truths. I noticed how genuinely concerned people were about me. I had the urge to confess to them that I was having a small, silent internal panic attack at the moment, that I was afraid that they didn't like me, but what's even worse, that they did like me, that they trusted me, that they found me likable, and that they could see how much I would love to live, but I hide it behind a facade of rationality and efficiency. All the things I truly need to live (and not just survive), I actively push away (and regret it at the same time, but I realize that the good feeling of being human together is (for me) like suppressing the urge to vomit in public, to avoid the shame of vomiting in public and also to avoid seeing what was inside me and is now in the toilet, not allowed to come up). I don't trust the statements of most people and spend a lot of mental effort analyzing their intentions. Most of the time, I don't assume that the intentions are good, neither with other people nor with myself. The thought that people have good intentions scares me, perhaps because it's not as easily categorizable and controllable as the opposite assumption, namely that people generally have no good intentions. Maybe I'm also envious of people like the young man Olli in the story, who seemingly have no problems, no racing thoughts, no shaky ground beneath their feet, and the feeling that at any moment, a statement could be made about them revealing what a bad person he is, and the consequence would be that he's forever banished. At the core, I'm a helpful, loving person and I think I've understood what the important things in life are. I just find it incredibly difficult not to disgust myself and to touch the feelings, even my self-perception (the feeling of myself, not self-esteem). I tend to intellectualize a lot and touch that self-perception with gloves made of cumbersome thoughts and word constructions. But I realize that's not the solution and I don't want it anymore.
There have been and continue to be moments when none of this is true, with trusted friends or when I'm alone, mostly in nature. Basically, I'm afraid of isolation in both directions: if I show myself (even to myself) as I am in this moment, I have a great fear that it's "too much" and that I repel or overwhelm people, pushing them away. On the other hand, if I don't show myself as I am, which is more often the case, the isolation has already taken place. There is no human exchange happening. Somehow, as I write this down, it appears to me like a funny dilemma, a tragicomedy. I know that the only way out is to show myself as I am, even though it disgusts me and is difficult for me.

In my life, I’ve learned the depths to which tyrants will go to keep their power. After the war against the Federation, almost everyone had. For centuries, the Federation had lied, manipulated, stolen, murdered, done anything no matter the moral cost, to keep its citizens in its grasp, to stay in control. But they made one fatal mistake, one misstep that would loosen their hold on their slaves just long enough for someone to step in and challenge them. That mistake was angering Mankind.
When the dust had settled and the bullets had stopped flying, the UN found treasure troves of stolen knowledge all across the home-systems of the founders of the Federation, the Kolshians and Farsul. Endless libraries of atrocities done and culture stolen, of memories erased and lives destroyed. So much irreversible damage done just to keep their people locked in mental chains.
This is why early in life I decided to become a historian. I wanted to uncover and reintroduce the cultures, ideas, and truths that the Federation had wanted to burn to ash. At the age of 19, I was accepted into the then newly opened Meiers Institute of Knowledge. MIK was named after the former leader of the UN, a man who was described as compassionate and caring by nearly everyone who met him, said to be a hero. The MIK was built to let those ideas blossom forth, by providing unrestricted knowledge and education to anyone that wanted it.
During my time at MIK, because of the instruction and guidance provided by my teachers, my distrust of non-humans slowly faded. I made friends and learned things I would remember for the rest of my days. Several years later I reluctantly left the college that had become my home with a doctorate in history.
I’m now 31 years old, and several days ago I received a message from the UN Office of the Historian, stating that I and several others had been invited to the new capitol building on Aafa for a special job offering.

As I wake, I notice how cold I feel.[Had I left the window open last night?] I think to myself. I rub my eyes and grab for my blanket, only managing to grab a handful of cloth from my shirt. I open my eyes to properly aim for the blanket this time only to witness an empty room.
No… That isn’t the correct way to describe it…This isn’t an empty room, this is the lack of a room. All around me is nothing but darkness.
I try to lift myself off my bed only to realize there is nothing beneath me. I’m the only matter that I can see in this void.
[What the fuck. What the fuck!?]
I begin panicking as my brain fully switches on, only now am I fully awake and aware of my situation. I flail my limbs around, trying to turn myself around to no avail as I float through the emptiness. I try to take in a breath only to inhale nothing. Vivid memories of nearly drowning at a vacation by the beach fill my mind. The space in my brain is packed full of questions by now.
[Wha- what the hell is happening? Where’s the air? How am I alive? Is this a dream?]
I begin calming down, wildly flailing my arms and legs is going to do nothing for me. A glow begins illuminating the backside of my arms, heating them like warm sunlight. I try to turn around, somehow managing to do so this time.
Light sears itself into my very soul as I stare forward at the object before me. I am seated at the edge of a star, its radiance beaming itself onto me as if it is some divine judge weighing the sins of my heart. Tendrils of superheated plasma ripple around it, like arms through water, effortlessly keeping the orb afloat.
A thunderous whisper echoes through the twisting and winding corridors of my mind. Paradoxically seeming both deafening and silent simultaneously. It is in a language I have never heard before and yet I understand the message all the same.
“Find us. We await.”

For the second time today, I wake up. This time I am in my warm bed in my home on Venlil Prime. The memory of the star does not fade away, as the imagery in my dreams usually do.
I stretch and drag my legs off the side of the bed, acclimating my eyes to the ever-present twilight of the Venlil homeworld. I grab a picture frame holding an old photo of me and my parents off my bedside table. Their smiles warming me slightly. I hug the picture-frame into my chest. It’s been 3 years but I still miss them every day. “I wish you were still here, so much. I hope I made you proud.”
I perform my daily routine and get myself tidy before putting on my clothes. Today is the day that the UN is sending a ship to pick me up. I've gotta look my best if I’m gonna be meeting such important people. I walk through the main hallway of my house, glancing at the art adorning the walls as I pass by. Ever since the knowledge that the Federation has been performing cultural genocide for centuries became public, the market for historians and other professions tasked with discovering the past sky-rocketed. Despite the high pay though, my house was relatively small. A bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, and some various utility and storage rooms was all I needed. I didn’t need a fancy living-space, that wasn’t what made me happy. What made me happy was the work I was doing for the people of the Coalition. Bringing back art and stories from ancient times, reintroducing species to a past and culture that they could be proud of. THAT was what fueled me.
I looked at my holopad and realized I only had 15 minutes before my ship arrived at the spaceport. I hurriedly filled a reusable cup with coffee and rushed out the door, no time for breakfast. I hopped in my car, buckled my seatbelt, turned my key, and backed out of the driveway onto the street, speeding down the road as fast as the anti-grav engine in my car would allow me. There is no way I’m missing an opportunity like this.
As I drove, the spaceport came into view. It towered above all the buildings surrounding it, making them seem miniscule in comparison. Ships swarmed around the structure like bees around a hive, loading and unloading cargo and passengers alike.
5 minutes.
I drew into a parking space in the underground garage. Removing my key and deactivating my vehicle. I slammed the door shut perhaps a little too hard and locked the doors with my keyfob as I sprinted towards the elevators to the top of the port. It took the lift around 50 seconds to travel nearly 300 stories into the sky. I bolted out of the barely opened doors, startling a Venlil couple and nearly knocking over an older looking man wearing a suit. I blurted out an apology and quickly said I was late before dashing off, the man looking more confused than annoyed.
I took a quick look at my holopad. 2 minutes. As I ran, I glanced at the signage on the walls. 587 588 589 560! I made my way into the hangar, straightening out my tie as I walked through the doors. I tried to hide how out of breath I was, these suits were not made for running. The ship was sleek and quite large, undoubtedly suited for luxury purposes, the UN did not spare any expense for its guests it seemed.
I walked up the boarding ramp and as the airlock opened, a man stood there to greet me. He was an older gentleman, slightly taller than me. He smiled and outstretched his hand. “Hello, I take it that you’re James! The ship is ready for you to depart. My name is Harold and I’ll be your attendant for the flight. ”He spoke enthusiastically with a southern drawl. I grasped the man’s hand and shook it. “I hope I didn’t take too long to arrive.” “Don’t worry son, you’re fine. It’ll take a couple days to reach Aafa so make yourself comfortable, down the hall behind me is the bar, lounge, and eating area, and further down are the sleeping quarters with accompanying bathrooms. ”Before I could respond, Harold spoke again. “There’ll be another passenger onboard, allow me to take you to them.”
The man stepped aside and followed as I walked down the hall to the lounge. The room was quite large, filled with expensive looking furniture and art. To my right was a small dining table and beyond that a kitchen. I looked to my left and felt my heart skip a beat as I locked eyes with a small Venlil with speckled white wool and orange eyes. She stared back, looking equally shocked.
“Lemva?”

My HH Today; It was actually in the same moment that my LL was a thing too
Saw my brother for the first time in a few weeks and he was mad at me so I went and asked why. He was standing leaning in his tent and looked pissed off but I didn't care. Thats my baby brother. He isnt allowed to not love me when I need him to.
He told me why. And I did owe him and my mother an apology.
I just drop every wall ive built up my entire life and said, " I know... I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to be so mean"
He walked over me to me and said, "thanks for watering my blueberry bush". And wrapped his arms around my entire head and pulled me in that embrace ive grown with his whole life.
For 5 seconds I completely let go of every guarded shielded damaged pain ive ever held onto. Including the newest blow I just got to the gut.
The only person in the world that has ever made me feel so many things. My rock. My best friend. My PIC.
My hero. My bubba. My baby brother.
He did exactly what my soul needed today. And I wish so badly that he could be sharing my progress and success in life right now.
Crying about something more painful than I can handle and making up with your best friend you tell everything to all in the same moment. Knowing that as much as j miss them. And my babies. Knowing I dont do well once comfortable. Knowing I'm making the move to what some call a better life.... Knowing I have to walk away from what once was. And what now is... And start preparing for changes and the actions to change are things I'm not prepared to change. I will be. One day at a time.

Seen a few posts about Pakistan on here but unfortunately I had the pleasure of interacting with them today.
Someone posted about how the country had an unhealthy obsession with Aafia Siddiqui and when I spoke out they started calling her terrorist and etc.
When I looked at the guys Reddit profile I saw a post about LGBTQ and he was active on the Pakistani confessions sub Reddit. Another guy just randomly had a go at me saying mullahs were gay paedophiles just because of my username.
I'm Pashtun and live in the West. I know it probably doesn't reflect the masses but I've actually also met a lot of weird ass Lahoris irl that are extremely painful to be around. Is Pakistan just a loud minority?

Please let me know if I’m in the wrong in this situation because something doesn’t sit right with me. Since my last post I’ve been re-thinking the whole relationship and more and more stuff comes out. It’s just so hard to set myself free.

1. They never actually met, just became online friends many years ago before we met, talking daily on the phone about everything in their lives, including their relationships.
   
2. He has a history of messaging girls left and right and see what happens so somehow I guess they never flirted?
   
3. This girl blocked him a year into our relationship because of her, he says controlling, boyfriend. We are together three years now.
   
4. I saw a message from her pop out of the blue yesterday. I checked her profile and I saw my bf has liked her post from a week ago.
   
5. I didn’t say anything as I waited for him to bring it up. Until I brought it up myself today. I said I felt uncomfortable that he didn’t share it with me and asked him what they were talking about, and why she unblocked him after all this time.
   
6. He became defensive straight away, saying he and her bf also had the same problems as in our relationship. That they didn’t know how to go on with their lives. He didn’t share more about it.
   
7. He said he was waiting for me to bring it up as he knows I saw it. The conversation quickly derailed into a situation of our past where I befriended someone with shared interest from my hometown on facebook and we talked briefly. He was then very upset by it so I discontinued.
   
8. I stated we can’t compare both situations as the person who I messaged wasn’t even remotely a friend and we only talked about our common interest. I just tried to express my hurt that he’s outing our relationship problems to her. He said it’s easier for him to talk to an outside person.
   

This whole thing just upsets me as he said I’m starting a fight and he just shut down. Said I’m not sharing anything with him, that I don’t allow him to check my socials (I’m not talking to anyone because of him so I got nothing to hide, and he knows my passwords but pretends he has no way to do it) and blamed me that he’s not talking to anyone because of me. When I had never had a problem with him having girl friends.
I’m not the jealous type, he is really and I told him it’s double standards. He just stated that I’m always right, he’s always wrong and blaming him for anything. I repeated myself saying I had no problem that he talked to her, but that he didn’t care to mention “oh, this online friend who I was close to before just sent me a friend request and we talked about our relationship struggles”. Yeah, it doesn’t sound good to me either the way I just wrote it.
Essentially his point was that I’m hiding my phone and socials from him and he is letting me check his, that his fb page is always open to see. And I have no ground to stand on and making up excuses for this situation to appear right.
The only time I had checked his chats is with his exes, to find out why they broke up. He blamed them. His last three exes all accused him of being manipulative and mental abuse. Thats says it all I guess.
