So i've set my game in the time between the roku and the standard 100 year war eras (around 40AG, the height of azulon's reign). I really like it because i can pull info from canon and not disrupt anything, but i'm running into a problem - its really hard to adapt the pre-made adventures into something that will fit the era. they all involve technology that doesn't exist (no flying machines, balloons, etc), or diplomatic relations between nations, and so on.
we just started season 2, and this is the first time they've left ba sing se. we have an overall plot, but i'm running into some trouble coming up with some mini arcs that i can give them during their road trip.
does anyone have any ideas?

Sorry in advance, Im new to reddit. I was looking to get a mystery snail. I want to learn more about how to care for them. Here are my questions: 1. How big of a tank would I need for a single mystery snail? and is there a specific type of water heater I should get? 2. If I only had one, would it get lonely? 3. Would I need a filter, or just a bubbler? 4. What size of bubbler should I get? 5. Should I get live plants for it? 6. Is it okay to feed the snail algae wafers, veggies, cuttlebone, and small amounts of fish food?

Upgrading my home lab server. (has 96GB ram if it matters) Holds 12 disks. Currently have a 6x6TB Raidz1 array and a 6x2TB mdadm raid array that is no longer in use.
My current plan is:

1. Pull the 6x2TB array out, add 6x10TB drives back in
2. EITHER:
   1. Create 2 separate 3x10TB RAIDZ1 vdev and stripe them
   2. Create 1 6x10TB RAIDZ2 vdev
3. Transfer all data from the current 6x6TB over to the new pool
4. Remove the current 6x6TB pool
5. Add a 2nd of whichever I pick from #2 above and stripe the whole damn thing

Server use is a home lab, with (in descending order of importance)

1. My nextcloud instance where we store all family documentation and whatnot
2. My gitlab instance where I store all my personal projects
3. My plex instance where I store all my media
4. My foundry instance where we host DnD every Friday
5. My network TimeMachine backups

It's Gentoo running ZFS, if the fact I'm not on the usual trueNAS/freeNAS matters?
I'm leaning towards going two 6x6TB RAIDZ2 striped, allowing for up to 4 disks to fail. That would leave me with (when completed) 80TB of relatively fault tolerant storage.
I am about to start running 10GBe throughout my house - I would like to be able to saturate the network from the server, as best as I can.

A place I'm looking to move to has "Cerner Dynamic Documentation"
Im not sure how that compares to power chart as I haven't seen that since med school and have used primarily Epic and meditech.
In the era of new documentation guidelines, truly, this has all become easier, but I from a workflow standpoint, I'd love to know how much effort it is to update a patient chart.
I know that epic has workup tabs from their tracker board making this essentially seamless. I know meditech is a flaming pile of shit.
When it comes to placing orders, updating notes, and seeing results, how do they compare? After being in epic, I will straight reject places that carry meditech: the ultimate burnout machine.

For me LVP takes the first spot. Not that she's an angel but I miss her little cheeky remarks and her little funny digs in her interviews. Plus her charities for LQBTQIA and dogs. Also I miss seeing her swans lol 2nd spot for me goes to Denise Richards. I just kinda like how she was and how funny and opem (especially S9) and hate how she was treated on S10. The reunion was so cringey to watch, you could feel how uncomfortable she was. 3rd would probably be Garcelle, I think she's a great addition to the show and tell it like it is without taking shit while being respectful. Special mention to Camille whos always dring a good dose of drama while keeping out of being "too" mean.
Worst 3 Top spot to Lisa Rinna. How she always chimes in to make it all about her gets to my nerves. Her thing about owning is a little hypocritical. Just think she's mean. 2nd to Kyle. Love her in the first seasons but how the show evolves you can see her being a little pupetteer (especially with the new girls.) She did LVP very wrong and I think she was trying to make all the group pick on her. She's a mean girl too. 3rd is Brandi. She is just insufferable. Always screaming, being sloppy, very vulgar. Plus i think those cheeks fillers might be on overboard. I.was so glad to see her get fired until she found an oppourtiny to make a cameo. Special shoutout to boring Teddi "miss accountabily holier-than-thou miss know it all. I googled with she was left go and well for being someone accountable its a little cingey.

I'm trying to track down a science fiction book I read more than 10 years ago, but I'm having trouble remembering the title or the author. I'm hoping that you can help me.
Here are the details I can remember:
An early chapter begins with an event around the time of the moon landing. The two central characters have invented some wormhole technology and manage to get to the moon before the actual moon landing. Not only that, the astronauts are able to simply walk back to Earth through the portal they've created. This wasn't a big part of the story, more like a flashback, an explainer disguised as a fun little anecdote.
The rest of the book is set in the future, where people can live for centuries due to advancements in technology.
One of the inventors owns a whole planet, which is populated by his descendants.
The other inventor has a unique nickname and a large afro. This character is somewhat disillusioned and travels around a lot.
One character extends their mental capacity into the virtual world via some kind of brain-machine interface, and was able to do things like trade stocks with only his subconscious (whatever that means!)
I believe the book was published before 2010, possibly in the early 2000s. A work colleague had loaned it to me. It had been well read before I read, but I couldn't say how old the book was.
The physical book was a paperback, I remember it was about 4 cm think (but I could way off).
I really don't remember much of the plot, other than to say the two inventors had had some sort of falling out or perhaps had just drifted apart over time.
The book is not "The Long Earth" by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter, nor "The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect" by Roger Williams.

I posted the other day about this and got some great feedback! I'm finishing up my TAMMM and planning for the future. I've given it more thought and ended up with this. The idea is a melody/harmony oriented 3 voice system that can be sequenced in more random ways by chaos standalone, and also in a more intentional, composition oriented way when es-8 is interacting with Ableton. Morphagene and the microsound music machine + fx aid handle texture/processing, while maths/batumi/veils/optomix/wogglebug/zadapam's pro should be sufficient to handle the voices I hope, given proper use of the CV bus/stackable cables. Any obvious mistakes I'm making here? Thanks for the input!

People who try to occupy two machines at the same time are very annoying

For full context- I worked at Dave and Busters up till today, and I have injury on my left foot that I needed to get a brace and boot for before I could return to work.
I sent the doctors notes immediately as I received them, I had two sent to them- Thurs last week and Fri the previous week. I was scheduled to work the Thursday of the previous week and all days from Mon-Fri of the week after.
My doctors note excused me for all of that, and I communicated all of the information with the store and with my manager. I come in today, as I was scheduled, and I'm told I'm being fired for no call no showing for Thursday before I sent the note in Friday, and Wed, the day before I sent them the next note. And I was told I didn't communicate at all with the store. This is in many ways incorrect.
Now, I could have sent the notes quicker to them, but they don't have a fax machine, and I don't have a vehicle rn, so I couldn't pick up the note across town (30min drive), and they knew that, and knew I would have to send it when I received it via the online portal. I sent the notes as soon as I could and kept my boss updated along the process. I called the store all throughout this process, on 4 separate occasions. The first date they say I didn't call out, I did call, and didn't receive an answer so I contacted my boss directly.
All of this is on my phone proving it to my employer. Do I have a legal case here? I feel I may have been illegally fired. Should I get a consultation and present this information? 🤔 That's what I'm trying to figure out. I can supply any more information if needed!!! I was not paid out for anything either and I worked there for almost near 2 years at this point.

I am a 20 year old Male. I live in a Small Quiet Town in The State Of ohio. One day I Decided I Wanted To Go camping in the Woods Because I'm A Outdoors Type of Person And I could use the fresh air. My Girlfriend Tiffany wasn't thrilled at the idea so I went alone. Fast forward to a day later, I made it to the woods and Found A Nice Clearing in the shape of a circle surrounded by trees. It seemed like The perfect place to set up my Camp
As I Was Setting Up my Tent, I thought I heard Footsteps Off In The Distance. I Shrugged My shoulders Thinking It Was Another Camper nearby And Went Back to Setting up my tent.
There's A Lake Not to far from Where My Camp Was, so I went Over to the lake with My fishing pole And Started Fishing. After I was done, I Began Walking Back To my Camp. That's When Noticed Something I Didn't Notice Before.
It Was A Poster of a Missing Girl. She Had Blonde Curly Hair, Blue Eyes And She Had A Huge Smile On Her Face. The Poster Read "Have you seen This girl?". After Reading The Poster, I Had A Uneasy Feeling in my stomach.
I Put My Hand On My Stomach And Began Walking Back To My Camp. A few Hours Later, The Sun Began To Set And I Started Making A Campfire. While Making the fire, I Started Thinking About The Poster of the Missing Girl I Saw Earlier. "I Could Only Imagine How Her Family I feeling." I Said To myself.
It Was Officially Nighttime And i Sat infront of the fire Roasting Marshmallows And Hotdogs Like A Typical Camper. As I finished Up Eating My Food, I decided I Was Time to go to sleep so i put out the fire, Entered my tent and crawled into my sleeping bag.
I Would Say A Few Hours Went by When I Suddenly Woke Up Hearing Footsteps Nearby. "Who Is That" I Thought To myself.
I pretended I Was Still Asleep as the Footsteps Walked Past the Tent But Then I Heard Another Sound. I Was The Sound Of Something Brushing Against The Tent. I Opened My Eyes, Turned My head To Where I Thought The Sound Was Coming From And Saw The Most Terrifying Thing I had Ever seen.
It Was A Silhouette of A Man Holding An object with a Long handle. I Quietly moved my head Closer And Looked At The Object's Silhouette To Find out What He Was Holding. It Was An Axe.
I Begin To quiver in fear as I see the Silhouette outside, walking around my tent. What was gonna happen to me? After a few minutes Of circling the tent, the Silhouette finally walked away.
I waited For what seemed like an eternity before I could gather courage to get out of the tent and run. I carefully zipped open the tent and began to make a break for it. I Ran for 5 minutes Straight. I then heard a Growl From Behind me. I Turned Around Slowly and Then My eyes Widened. Standing 20 feet Away, Was A Deranged Look Man. He Wore all black including A Black Leather Jacket and Biker Boots with Shiny Silver Buckles. The Most Disturbing Part Was The fact He Had Long Deep Slashes all over his Face.
He Then Gave Me A Stomach Turning Smile, Showing off His Bloody Set Of Black Teeth and Began Walking Toward Me With his Axe. That's When I Turned Back Around And Took Off All the while I Can hear the man behind me, chasing Me.
10 minutes of running went by when I Saw My Car Parked Out In the distance. I Ran to my Car, unlocked My Cardoor, got inside Then Turned on the car and Drove off. As i was Driving I Looked In the rear view mirror and saw the Man Once Again. He Was Standing In the Middle Of the road Smiling Directly at me And I Swear From Far Away I Could See Him Mouth the Words, "I know where you live".
I'm Back Home Now With My Girlfriend I Never Told Her About the encounter, but As I'm writing this though, I can Hear The Sounds Of growls And laughter Right outside my window.

Yesterday went to the Feng Kee BBQ house (in country hills) to pickup some bbq pork and char sue for my partners’ and I anniversary (normally we don’t eat Chinese but our friends suggested that Chinese bbq takeout with white rice is good).
Went to the location near our house to pick up. Ordered two boxes of pork and one box of Char sue which he showed me on the till to be $51. I tapped my credit card once he presented me with the machine. I went home, ate the meal, but then noticed on my credit card it had charged me $81. So I went back today to tell them the $30 difference and he said that for the three boxes was actually $81 and that he didn’t do anything wrong? When I was explaining to him that it would have been impossible to fit that amount of meat in three boxes of the white styrofoam for $81, he said something I couldn’t understand, then shouted me out the door! Needless to say I just wanted to warn everyone about the suspect surcharge and service they give! If I wanted $81 a night fancy Asian food we would have just got AYCE sushi which probably could have been cheaper!
