2023.06.03 17:33 _shakul_ Tester for my Warcry WAAAGH!!!-band.
| Tried out a game of Warcry last week at our club and really enjoyed it, so starting an Ironjawz Warband. Had this model from the WHTV subscription so he’ll function as my leader for now. Have a box of ‘Ardboyz, Brutes and a Warchanter on the way to round out the Warband and get some more models on the table. submitted by _shakul_ to OrrukWarclans [link] [comments] |
2023.06.03 14:26 ThePTouch Need some advice to round out an Ironjawz warband.
I want to make a Warcry team out of the Ironskull's Boys and Rippa's Snarlfangs Underworlds teams. I'm planning to use the Ironskulls as just regular Ard Boys and use Rippa's Underworlds rules. I want an old orcs and goblins vibe and I figure Rippas Boys can add some speed to the extremely slow Ard Boys.
4 Ard Boys and all of Rippa's team is 800pts, so I've got some room to play with. My first thought is add a Megaboss to be something that hits like a truck and also for that Mighty Waaagh! ability. What other options would be good here? Maybe a Gore Grunta or a Warchanter?

2023.06.02 05:13 Terrible-Sport3857 Advice on the situation in Narrative
So context, I’m participating in a narrative game with some friends, and we each have our main faction that we’re playing. Followed by an npc faction that we use to contest unclaimed territories. We’ve been plying for a month or so, and we started at low point totals. I am playing Ironsunz Ironjawz for the narrative game, and have so far, been on a massive winning streak. My friends are Soulblight Gravelords legion of blood. Starborne Seraphon that play like Coalesced, and lastly Maggotkin of Nurgle (they started as slaves to darkness but transformed themselves into Nurgle because they had lost their first 3 battles.). So far the front runners are the Soulblights, and myself.
The Soulblights had an almost 100% win rate before they encountered my npc Skaven who wiped him off the board. I on the other hand have maintained a 100% win rate with the Ironjawz with clever use of Gore-Gruntaz and my Megaboss being the most effective lawn gnome until I could upgrade him into a Megaboss on a Maw-Krusha. As of recent developments, I've upgraded my stronghold allowing me to go from 750 point games to 1000 points.
However as we have ruled it as a group that if I who play at 1000 points challenge an npc, the npc army can be at 1000 points, but if I challenge one of the other players who is still at 750, then I have to play down at 750 points. This was primarily meant to prevent someone who was ahead to bully the other players to much. However, what I didn't take into account until it happened when we were declaring our attacks, that if they challenge me with 750 points then I still have to fight down at 750 points. Now I'm stuck with a weird situation where I can either use my Weirdnob shaman, and/or Warchanter as a general to bring more, or bring an extremely small list with my Megaboss on a Maw-Krusha.
So tell me fellow Warbosses, what should I do?

2023.05.25 14:54 Chiptacular Mount Trait for Ironjawz Maw-Krusha in aggro list
Calling the green Horde for advice r.e. which Mount Trait to go with for my Ironjawz list:
- Army Faction: Orruk Warclans
- Army Type: Ironjawz
- Subfaction: Bloodtoofs
- Grand Strategy: Waaagh!
- Triumph: Inspired
LEADERS 1× Megaboss on Maw-krusha (480)* - Boss Choppa and Rip-toof Fist - Mount Traits: ??? 1× Orruk Weirdnob Shaman (90)* - General - Command Traits: Master of Magic - Spells: Da Great Big Green Hand of Gork 1× Orruk Warchanter (120)** - Warbeats: Fixin’ Beat 1× Orruk Warchanter (120)** - Warbeats: Get ’Em Beat 1× Orruk Megaboss (140)** - Artefacts of Power: Destroyer - Aspects of the Champion: Tunnel Master
BATTLELINE 10× Orruk Brutes (300)* - Jagged Gore-hackas - 2× Gore-choppas - Brute Boss - Boss Klaw & Brute Smasha 3× Orruk Gore-gruntas (170)* - Jagged Gore-hackas - Gore-grunta Boss 6× Orruk Gore-gruntas (340)** - Jagged Gore-hackas - Gore-grunta Boss 3× Orruk Gore-gruntas (170)** - Jagged Gore-hackas - Gore-grunta Boss
CORE BATTALIONS * Battle Regiment ** Battle Regiment
TOTAL POINTS: 1930/2000
The general game-plan for this list is alpha strike from 2-3 fronts: Gore-Gruntas to attack from the front; Brutes & Megaboss to deep strike via my buffed Hand of Gork and Tunnel Master and attack from the rear; and the Maw-Krusha to attack wherever he's needed.
What I'm struggling with is whether I should give my Maw-Krusha Fast 'un to make getting him into combat on turn 1 more consistent (since I'll probably be using my Mighty Destroyers activations on my Brutes and Megaboss) or if I should give him Mean 'un to increase his potential damage output from Destructive Bulk.
Most competitive lists I've seen use Fast 'un, but I find the prospect of Mean 'un's damage potential a bit too tasty to ignore.

2023.05.23 15:41 WastelandeWanderer Is there any counter play against nighthaunt by Ironjawz.
I recently had a very hard fought game against nighthaunt. I’m no AoS master but I’ve got a solid understanding of the game. I hadn’t fought nighthaunt with their new book yet but knew what to expect, and it’s was still demoralizing. Is some wizards for spells my only real option?
List was brute heavy 1k points in local stores escalation league. It was against a much less experienced player that didn’t use half their armies toolkit, and I try harded every round of the game and still lost by a point. This was one of the few games I play that went all 5 rounds. My average is 3 rounds, usually with a stomp one way or another.
If I was optimizing I would be taking brutes and gruntaz with choppas instead of the gore hackas, but what’s built is what’s built. Any tricks I’m not thinking of in ij took it that work well against nighthaunt. I’m not a fan of hard counter armies, and this was the hardest counter I can imagine.
They had: Flying Pegasus dude Boat guy Black coach Spirit hosts Bunch of little bastards.
I had: Megaboss Warchanter 2x Brutes 10x Brutes 5x Gruntaz 3x
For 1500 I think I’m bringing maw crusha and more gruntaz, I’ve only run casual lists up to this point at the store because they aren’t very good AoS players and the last league we did I won every game by a landslide. I can’t wait, this one is going to 2.5k for the last week and it’s going to feel good to actually get both my crushas on the board with enough army to back them up.

2023.05.21 23:24 muckelpuse Beat Blades of Khorne
Hi guys,
I started to collect orruks with the last starter box, a friend of mine started with BoK. I always struggle beating him in our matches. I think this happens because my list isn‘t that effective. I must say that I bought the models that I think look great, without mentioning their effectiveness on the battlefield. Most of the games go as follows: The first two rounds it seems that I am dominating, after that he starts to summon demons, just rushing me to death. Maybe you can give me some advice on my list…
I play a big Waagh, consisting of Kruleboyz and Ironjawz (1500p)
- 1x swampcalla Shaman
- 1x Murkbob
- 1x Killaboss on Gnashtoof
- 1x Killaboss with Stab grot
- 3x Boltboyz
- 10x Gutrippaz
- 20x Hobgrots
- 1x beast-Skewer Killbow
- 1x Warchanter
- 10x Ardboyz
- 3x Gore gruntas
- 5x Brutes
I know that I need the wurgog prophet for big waagh, I already ordered one. Over that I ordered some more boltboyz for shooting support.
Maybe you can give me some advice on how to improve my list / army and finally beat em.
Thank you in advance !! :)

2023.05.18 16:36 November5thForWork Ranking your favorite FSU sports media personalities
Just wondering what everyone's opinions were on FSU sports media coverage. I think we have a really awesome group of people covering FSU sports. Some of these are kind of tough calls. I thought it would be interesting to post this in a neutral place that's not tied to on3 or 247.
Here's my ranking, just based on entertainment value in a podcast / YouTube / live radio setting. I think overall, 247 usually provides faster, more detailed, and sometimes more accurate reporting. I also like the message board there better than warchant . com. But here I'm just talking about how I like everyone in an "on-air" capacity.
Tier 1 - Jeff Cameron, Corey Clark
Tier 2 - Ira Schoffel, Chris Nee, Zack Blostein, Tom Lang (would have put Josh Newberg here, but he left)
Tier 3 - with notes
Aslan - I don't dislike him. He's borderline 2 / 3.
Brendan Sonnone - I would have ranked him higher back when Newberg was on the team. Brendan is way too stressed out now and criticizes Zack and Chris too much on-air. It's bad content when he does that. If he can quit doing that, he's borderline 2 / 3 as well.
.
.
.
Not Ranked - I just don't follow these folks enough to rank them:
- Trey Rowland - I like what he does. I should probably check it out more.
- Kev and coach AB - They are great and I like what they do. I just don't watch it regularly.
- Bud & Ingram - Not the personalities for me.

2023.05.15 00:06 Legion_Etiquette Request for help from prospective new player
Greetings all! After painting miniatures on and off for a few years I've decided to try taking the plunge with a game. I love AoS miniatures and I've heard that the AoS community is generally one of the more welcoming ones for new players (fingers crossed!). I'm hoping some good folks can help me out with a few questions about physically building my army ahead of getting started. While I have been doing some research on the Internet, I have no experience with tabletop war games, so apologies if any of my questions are idiotic.
I've chosen Ironjawz because Orks are cool and characterful. I heard (in a recent Hey Woah video) that AoS is really only fun at 2,000 points, so I'm diving straight in at that level (even if the game turns out not to be for me, I love painting the models so it's ok), though of course I'll have some lessons at my local Warhammer using fewer models. The questions I have are as follows:
(1) Is this general list ok (I'm looking for fun casual games where I don't get blasted off the table but I'm not trying to immediately crush my opponents either):
1x Megaboss on Maw Krusha
2x Warchanters
1x Weirdnob Shaman
25x Ardboys
6x Gore Gruntas
15x Brutes
(I'm not actually 100% certain about whether or not it's game legal. The points seem to add up on the AoS app and it hasn't put up any warning symbols, but I could easily have misunderstood what should happen with leaders and battle line and things).
(2) Is it worth taking the shields on the Ardboys and if so, how do you model them (the instructions appear to show a special arm that I don't have, unless I'm being thick, which is entirely possible).
(3) For the Brutes weapons, it seems like the jagged gore hacka is better than the brute choppas because of the extra range and rend (despite one fewer attacks) - is that correct? I don't want to build them with the wrong gear and although I am aware that there is Mathhammer, I have not gotten my head around it (tbh, maths was never my strongest subject to begin with). Presumably there might be some kind of buff that would increase the number of attacks (I'm still waiting for my battletome to arrive in the post)? I also have the same question (and looking at the AoS app, I think it's even the same stats) for the gore grunta weapons.
(4)Is it worth making one Brute in each unit a champion with either the boss choppa or boss klaw and brute smasha? What's best?
Thanks for taking the time to read this; I'm grateful for any help and advice.
