2023.05.29 17:29 Live_Inside_1980 AITA for getting mad at my daughter’s dance teacher?
Okay so my (35f) daughter (8f) is in a dance academy in which they train for about 14 hours a week and go to about 4 big competitions a year, it’s very expensive and time consuming, but she loves it. This weekend they had one of those big competitions, it was from Friday to Sunday, they usually start at 8:00am and finish till 10:00pm needless to say, they are intense. This past week she wasn’t able to go to classes because she was very sick, started with pink eye, then her throat started hurting and finally her ears as well, she had fevers so it was a pretty bad infection. Thankfully by Friday she was feeling better so we went to the competition, in the afternoon she started having a really bad ear pain, I gave her medication and after a couple of dance presentations she was feeling terrible. All of the dances are group dances so we all know they can’t miss the competition unless there’s no other way around it because it causes a whole change on the dances, etc. That Friday we came home and I texted the dance teacher explaining everything and letting her know my daughter wasn’t going to Saturday or Sunday because she is definitely not well yet. She understood and told me that her well-being was the most important thing. Let’s go to Sunday and I have 2 other kids, one of them (11m) had a big basketball game, so of course we went and had a little celebratory lunch. I made a little Instagram story on my personal IG showing our lunch out and that’s when the problem started. From her dance academy’s Instagram I had a response from my story that said “you abandoned our team”. Since I know several people handle this account I asked who it was, since I’ve already explained everything to the teacher and she had been very understanding so I didn’t think it was her responding and also asked why did you replied that? and she said it was the teacher and that “your daughter didn’t come, but she sure is going out” to which I replied reminding her of the conversation we had on Friday and also telling her how I have 2 other kids and I have to be there for all of them, by the way, if my daughter had been feeling well, I had everything planned to divide myself on Sunday between the the competition and the game, a couple of moms already told me they could look after my daughter for a couple of hours while I went to my boy’s game. She then told me that the teachers feel sad when they see this kind of stories and that some moms might take it the wrong way, since my daughter wasn’t at the competition and asked me that for the future I shouldn’t post something like this. By this time I was very annoyed by her and I answered that I’m not the kind of person that cares what people think of me or my IG and just like I post stories about my daughter’s wins I also do it for my boys and that I really disliked that she used the word “abandoned” when she clearly knew we didn’t. She replied with “many girls that were sick and injured stayed for all weekend!” That me not posting is about respecting the team, but that we’ll talk about it some other day and then ended with “you enjoy yourselves!”. My final reply was “let’s leave this here and just know that this really pissed me off”. So I want to know AITA for getting mad at this whole situation or is the teacher right and I shouldn’t have posted any stories showing mu daughter while we were celebrating with my son? We don’t live in the US and english is not our first language, so sorry if it’s not written in the best way.

2023.05.29 17:28 MogrimACV Is this normal?
My 10 mth old has been a peach for the last few months. Mom and I have really been enjoying her company.
But just this week she has started these ...tantrums? For seemingly no reason that we can see, several times a day, she will violently throw herself backwards, whether in our arms or sitting in her high chair or on the floor. Sometimes she does it over and over again while red-faced screaming and crying.
We can't visibly see anything wrong, so I have to assume they are tantrums or she is feeling some discomfort. They are usually short lived though, and she can usually be calmed with milk or distraction/change of scenery.
Is it normal for tantrums to begin at 10 mths, or is this a pain thing that we should be talking to our doctor about? It is a little scary and more than a little frustrating.

2023.05.29 17:27 MidavTe Is ‘salting’ email reroll allowed or bannable?
‘Salting’ is using a Gmail feature, placing a dot between the letters in your email address, so it is considered as a new email, but the inbox is shared, it’s the same.
I did about 10 rerolls on the same email, but now afraid and not sure whether it’s against ToS or not?
I’ve read a lot of old discussions and it’s unclear. People say HoYo knows about salting and rerolls, they don’t like it, but it’s not officially forbidden. At the same time, I’ve seen some comments claiming that sometimes people do get banned for salting/rerolling.
I even found a 2yo screenshot of some person, the customer service told them the salting rerolling is considered as a use of third party services and therefore bannable….which makes no sense if you think about it. On the other hand, I’ve also seen another screenshot of some person, their CS told them it’s not bannable, just not welcomed. Sigh. I don’t know what to think. Keep playing and fear to get a ban some day? Anyone knows anything? Why do they never release clear statements regarding what is bannable and what is not? There are only speculations by players, so annoying.

2023.05.29 17:27 auntlex Honeymooning in Italy help / recommendations
My husband and I are finally getting around to planning our honeymoon in Italy. We haven't traveled too much outside of the US and never to Italy. The last couple years for us have been difficult, so we are hoping to have a relaxing, enjoyable, easy trip to Italy.
We are overwhelmed with recommendations from family and friends and don't know where to start (taking advice from grandma on what to do on vacation might not be the best thing). Hoping Reddit will be able to help us if we tell you what we're looking for! Any help would be great! xo
- Recs on where to stay (locations), must-see places, and tips on how to travel to/from.
- Vibe: easy, relaxing, fun, informative.
- We want to visit in 2024, and when the weather is "nice". Meaning sunny, 80 degrees-ish.
- Hoping to be there for 8-10 days, in a few different areas.
- We'd love to spend a few days on the beach, sipping drinks, taking walks, eating, reading, just relaxing. (I'm told the Amalfi Coast is perfect for this?)
- We'd love to spend a few days exploring other areas, learning about the culture. Places that aren't hard to travel to / from.
- We don't want to bop around to too many locations / change hotels a lot.
- We don't want to spend a TON of money, but have money saved up. We're not interested in anything extravagant or too fancy, but we also don't want to stay in hostels.

2023.05.29 17:27 Brilliant_Hat_8643 I hate Memorial Day, but not for the reason you might think.
Over 10 years ago on Memorial Day, my religious parents sat my siblings and I down because my mom had caught my dad watching porn (so the religious side of things and my mom being traumatized by her father cheating and breaking their family really combined together into a lovely shit storm). They told us, their kids, that they don’t know what will happen but will be fighting for their marriage. Well, a lot of fighting happened for sure, and somehow over 10 years later, they’re still married… but those 10 years were 50 shades of hell. Long story short, the years of mental, emotional, and physical abuse my siblings and I were going through BEFORE the “fighting to save their marriage” happened increased exponentially. Things have gotten better since they went through some counseling and have made an active effort to improve… but they still left over a decade of damage. All of us, their kids, have plenty of unhealthy coping skills due to it: alcoholism, anger management, drug abuse, lack of self esteem, you name it. And all of it started on a damn Memorial Day. So every Memorial Day, I remember all the pain I went through… which makes today difficult to say the least. The best part is that I have kids myself now, and I’m trying really hard to not let my pain get in the way of my relationship with them, but it’s been getting harder and harder due to problems in my own marriage.
Moral of the story: If you’re going to drop a bomb-shell on your kids, don’t do it on a frickin holiday, no matter how minor, because it makes it so much easier to remember on what day their whole life began to explode in slow motion.
Happy Memorial Day.

2023.05.29 17:25 ssnker How to deal with an overly religious/spiritual family member?
My cousin, is extremely invested in our relatively small religious community. She has dedicated herself, her time, and her knowledge to this community and to the religion and deeply believes in it. I too, am a part of this religion and I am thankful for the community although some things, like any religion are questionable because naturally as a human being I like to question things whereas my cousin does not. This community is the reason why I am in a developed country so I will always be grateful. Everyone in our family is not as religious and as committed as my cousin and a lot of times in our group chats or in-person, religion and the community tends to power the conversation when she speaks and it becomes redundant. Her personality is religion and this community and it becomes really boring and annoying at times especially as these discussions become a talking point of her trying to tell the rest of the family to be more involved when we’re perfectly happy with our life. I truly believe that religion is a personal relationship between you and god and no one else so these constant remarks can be cumbersome and pointless.
To give you a bit of a background about my cousin, she has dealt with a lot of trauma as a child. Her parents had an abusive relationship and her relationship with her brothers weren’t always the best (however, it is much better now than before with her siblings). She has had constant anxiety and would tremble because of it until she found religion that apparently healed her, not 100% but substantially. She is also currently in her early 30s and is the eldest of the 10 cousins on moms side. She’s also had arguments with her parents who have told her she needs to focus more on her career and other parts of her life and spend less time on religion because, she would carry out a lot of the community tasks on her own day and night. Any arguments against the religion or community, she will not accept or believe. She also has had a few breakdowns, yelling at us for accusing her of being stupid which is not true.
So the question is, while I respect her and her commitment, how do I deal with her when she tries to push religion and community engagement on me/us when I/we don’t want to. I’m happy for her and her accomplishments but she’s either too aggressive or throws in jabs and I don’t appreciate that. It’s almost as if she needs validation from her family for why she’s even doing any of this to begin with. I feel like it’s more of a mental health issue than it is religion and she’s just latching on to religion as her source of saviour and wants everyone else to be that way too. Any thoughts and suggestions?

2023.05.29 17:24 Whinito ESSP strategies with 50 % match after 3 years of holding
I'm looking for some sparring when deciding how much to contribute to the next period of Employee Share Savings Plan for my company.
TL;DR: Company matches 50 % of number of shares purchased after a ~3 year holding period, ability to contribute up to 5 % of gross salary towards plan. Looking into selling vested stock to actually max contribution at 5 %, where half of contribution would come from sold stock
Here are the ESSP rules: You can save up to 5 % of your gross monthly salary (taken out of net salary) with a fixed minimum, savings period runs Q3 through Q2. 10 days after each quarterly earnings report, accumulated cash including dividends are automatically and without fees used to buy company stock at market price. If you hold your stock and stay at the company for the ~3 year duration of the plan, you are awarded with a 50 % match to the number of bought shares, half of which is paid in actual company stock, the other half being paid in cash (to cover taxes). Some clarifications: you forfeit matching if you leave the company or do anything stupid, but if you're let go you're still entitled to matching shares. Savings for new plan start in Q3 2023 and matching shares are awarded in February 2027, so it's about 3 years.
I've been with the company for some time and have participated in 4 programs, so I was awarded my first matching shares early this year. I've previously been contributing something in between minimum and 2,5 %, depending on what the stock was trading at when enlisting, but the price has been quite volatile recently so that of course doesn't last throughout the plan. Most of the shares bought in the now vested plan have seen a significant rise, the Covid-dip happening during the plan of course helped, but the stock is also trading at its previous historical max. While I can see myself staying with the company, and recently accepted a new position within the company with a significant jump in salary, the promised match in any plan is not so significant that I couldn't accept a job at another company.
Company info: Industrial company operating in a cyclic market. The company itself is stable and consistently profitable, and I'd say it has improved significantly, i.e. it is in a much better position than at any point during the previous 5 years, especially regarding profitability. Significant amount of profits come from aftermarkets activities while market cycle obviously affect new sales, but the orderbook is currently record high and recent earnings call have all been very strong, both regarding profit and order intake (no guarantees it lasts if inflation keeps improving though).
My financial situation: We get a state pension, so no need to save in 401k, IRA's etc. as per the prime directive. That said, I've been investing between 10-15 % of my net pay, and company stock is currently 8 % of my investment portfolio, but 2,5 % of that is already vested and I'm free to sell them. It would be even less, but I got carried away gambling on individual stocks with the play-part of my investment accounts, and those have seen significant losses. Index funds are >70 % of my portfolio and I've almost exclusively contributed to those the last 1½ years.
Considerations:
- Tax rate for capital gains is 30 % for small amounts
- There is no capital gains tax at all if the price of all sold investments during that year is less than ~70 % of values of vested shares. So I could sell in two portions during both years
- However there are fees associate with selling both through the ESSP administrator, or transferring them to another broker with lower fees. In practice, a transfer and two selling events are priced equally to outright selling everything through ESSP administrator, anymore than that and the costs would be too high for my taste.
- Shares are sold First In, First Out, so I'm technically selling shares still waiting to be matched; you only need to own the same number of bought shares to receive the match. This also means that the last portion of "vested" shares were bought at post-covid boom levels and trading at same level currently.
My plan: Current market price of already vested shares, both bought and rewarded, would be half of my max contributions for the year, and there's a 33 % profit the vested shares combined. I've previously been unwilling to invest such a big portion of my investment contributions into company stock, but having shares vested now allows me to offset it. So that's why I'm considering selling vested shares to reduce weight of my employer stock in my portfolio, but still maxing future share matching. A 50 % match is a (diluted after 3 years) 50 % match, with significant risk, both positive and negative associated with future share price. I'm willing to take that risk.
I'd likely sell in two portions for both tax and timing (spreading out risk) reasons. Only thing to consider then is whether to lump-sum those sales in index funds or whether to DCA them throughout the year, but I'm leaning towards just lump-summing in as I think that is statistically the best choice.
Thoughts?

2023.05.29 17:24 Panasit Multiple Fatalities at Haunted/cursed Objects Exhibition
The haunted/cursed objects exhibition which featured items that had caused gruesome deaths of their owners or anyone else that got close to them was another stunt by Professor Melvin.
Professor Eric Melvin was one of those professors who thought he was too good for this little community college in Shady Grove, Maryland. I took his art history class, which he never shied away from telling everyone he had no time for. I was shocked to see that his teaching slides were just blurry photos that he took of the pages from a textbook with his phone.
What Melvin had time for were stunts. His goals were to get the attention of the Gazettes or be trending on social media. His earlier exhibition which featured only blowup prints of a screencap of a dating app profile made the front page of the Style section, and that was all that mattered.
Unlike his other stunts, the haunted/cursed object exhibition involved me.I worked as a student assistant at the college’s Art Department. My jobs consisted of making photocopies, answering phones, and taking turns with other assistants to guard the gallery until 8 pm.
Melvin asked us assistants to help with the setting up of the haunted/cursed objects show. We all politely declined, which annoyed Melvin a bit. He stared at me with the just-you-wait look.
I came from a superstitious culture where there was always someone who knew someone who had fallen victim to dark magic. No one could pay me enough to touch those literally cursed things.
As I was watching the delivery guys carrying the objects into the gallery, I was surprised by how modern the haunted/cursed objects were. I was expecting a creepy painting or a scary doll. Instead, there was,
a plasma TV
a recliner armchair
a turquoise necklace
a miniature fire station
and even an animatronic singing fish.
Without additional decor, the exhibit looked more like a yard sale. The owner of the objects had a list of rules, but Melvin never bothered to look at it. He handed me a still-sealed envelope. I read the rules aloud so that Melvin, my supervisor, and other student assistants could hear them too.
Dear Professor Melvin.
Thank you for taking an interest in my collection.
All of these objects have caused numerous misfortunes and deaths in the past. It is my sincere wish to not add any more tragedy to the collection’s history. Please follow these rules carefully and may your show conclude without incident.
Rule 1: Never be in the same room with any of these objects when the lights are off.
Rule 2: Do not allow pregnant women anywhere near the haunted/cursed objects.
Rule 3: The cursed pieces of jewelry have the power to entice people to wear them. Please make sure you have a system in place where people won’t be able to touch them.
Rule 4: Do not connect any device to the TV.
Rule 5: Do not change the channel on the TV. If you or someone else did, you must change the channel back to channel 33.
Rule 6: This should not happen if the above rules were followed, but if the little light on the gate of the miniature fire station starts to blink and makes a sound, run as far away as possible and call me directly.
Melvin scoffed and said, if the exhibit ends without incident, where’s the fun in that? Melvin then turned to me, hoping to get a reaction. I was taken aback. What was that supposed to mean? Did he just say he wanted something bad to happen? What are you planning, Melvin? The letter continued,
My collection contains both cursed objects and haunted objects. Haunted objects are possessed by spirits and can cause fear, while cursed objects are deadly to anyone who interacts with them. The plasma TV is both, and is, therefore, the most dangerous. Please be extra careful around it.
I took my concern about the assistant’s safety to the dean, whose office was right next to the gallery. The dean laughed and asked me if I believe in curses and ghosts. I said that in Thailand, there was a phrase that said “Not believing is fine, but don’t disrespect just in case,” and that was my stance.
The dean shook her head and just told me that if I was so scared then don’t break any of the rules. For the first time working there, I felt less like a student talking to a well-meaning professor, and more like an employee whose concern was being brushed off by an apathetic employer.
The first night with the haunted/cursed objects inside the gallery I was guarding them with another student assistant. We behaved just like any other night as we just sat in the mailroom and watched YouTubers play Dead by Daylight. We could see what was going on in the gallery next door through the CCTV monitor.
At 7.30, both of us heard a very loud thud coming from the gallery. I didn’t see anything abnormal on the CCTV, so the other assistant and I both walked over to the gallery to check. We both saw a squirrel with its neck broken lying dead in front of the plasma TV. I didn’t know how it got inside. That was enough for me to creep me out and want to call it a night, even if it was a bit early.
Something I hadn’t thought about until then was that I had to turn off the lights, but the switches were at the far end of the gallery. I would have to walk out of the gallery in the dark, breaking rule number 1.
To avoid breaking the rule, I told the other student assistant to keep the door open and light the room up a bit with her phone’s flashlight. It was a good thing that we both came from a culture that believe in curses and hauntings, so I didn’t have to work too hard to convince her. I shut off all the lights and ran out.
The other student assistant asked me what I would do the next night when I would have to guard the gallery alone. I told her I would probably just leave the gallery’s lights on for one night.I got to the mailroom the next day at around 10.00 AM and there was a commotion.
One of the haunted/cursed objects, a turquoise necklace, was missing. I asked my supervisor bluntly if it was our fault, but one of the professors said he saw it early that morning, which meant that it wasn’t stolen overnight. Since this had nothing to do with me, I just went to class.
In the evening, it was time for me to guard the gallery alone and I started the night by just watching people play Dead by Daylight to pass the time. In between one of the matches, I looked over at the CCTV monitor and saw a lanky man in ragged clothing staring at the plasma TV.
Normally, a strange person walking into a gallery would not be a cause for concern. I mean, that was the point of having an exhibition. But, two things made me run to the gallery. One, I could see that the man had a flickering glow on his face, which meant that the TV was turned on. The TV wasn’t supposed to be plugged in and turned on until the official opening ceremony on Friday. And two, he was changing the channel.
The man did not notice me despite me asking him repeatedly to step away from the TV so that I could switch it off. I considered just pulling the plug, but the man looked scary. What if the moment I unplugged the TV he decided to jump me?
The man kept staring at the plasma TV with his mouth slightly opened, seemingly in a trance. Up close, I could see that he was unshaven and his eyes were bloodshot red. His fingers kept pushing the button that changed the channel, despite the screen only showing static.
I did not know what to do. The man technically wasn’t doing anything wrong since we didn’t announce the rules to the public. There wasn’t any sign that said don’t touch the TV and don’t change the channel. I can’t tell the security guard to kick him out just because of his disheveled appearance. This is a public college, so he has the right to be there as much as anyone else. I decided to go back to the mailroom to watch more YouTube videos, hoping that he would leave on his own before closing time.
When it was 8 pm and he was still doing the same thing. I called my supervisor to ask her about my options. She said to ask the security guards at the front of the school for help.
I brought two security guards back with me to the gallery. Once we arrived, we found the man seemingly strangling himself on the floor in front of the plasma TV. The TV screen showed a very old black-and-white POV shot of a person being strangled by another man who had a sadistic glee on his face.
One of the security guards rushed in to help the man while the other one radioed his superior to call for an ambulance. I was horrified by what I saw. The face on the screen of a smiling man started out staring downward at the person he was strangling. But after a while, he looked up right at the camera like he was looking at me.
As I was backing away from the chaos, an elevator next to the gallery made a sound. Someone was coming down from the fourth floor? No one should have been upstairs since this was already past 8 pm, and our building did not have any night classes.
Once the elevator door was opened, a cleaning lady who was inside turned around. Her eyes were gouged out and there was blood all over. She held her hands up and ran out of the elevator toward me. She tried to grab onto my shirt collar but her hands missed, and she collapsed on the ground. She was wearing the missing necklace.
I was so scared, I was on the floor and didn’t even remember falling. The security guards, who looked shocked and traumatized themselves, told me that I didn’t have to wait for the paramedics with them. And so, I just bolted home.
I had a hard time sleeping that night, with the image of the cleaning lady without her eyes rushing toward me burning into my brain.
I decided to go back to the college the next day to rip everyone a new one. The dean, my supervisor, and especially Melvin for allowing this to happen. I also just wanted to get some updates on the cleaning lady and the man.
On my way to the department building, a pregnant woman was walking right beside me. As we got closer to the entrance of the art building, I realized she was about to go through an entrance close to the gallery. Remembering the rules about pregnant women, I stopped her.
I politely asked her what was she there for. She seemed annoyed and answered that Professor Melvin asked her to meet with him for an acting job. She was going to be in his experimental films. He asked her to wait for him inside the gallery.
There was no doubt in my mind, Melvin was deliberately challenging the rules. I asked the woman to wait and called the other student assistant to ask if Melvin was in. She said Melvin never showed up to his morning class and could not be reached.
Before I hung up, the student assistant told me that the man who strangled himself died but the cleaning lady survived. The cleaning lady told the police at the hospital that she didn’t steal the necklace. Melvin paid her 50 dollars to wear the turquoise necklace for a day as part of his experimental film.
I turned to the pregnant woman she was not allowed to go into the building, and to go shop at the bookstore in a different building instead. I will tell Melvin to meet her there. She seemed angry, and in hindsight, I probably used the wrong words and should have tried a bit harder to convince her. But, I was about to storm the office and didn’t have time to tell her about the haunted/cursed objects and the exhibition’s rules.
I saw that my supervisor was also at the dean’s office. Before I could yell at both of them, the dean sheepishly turned her computer monitor for me to see. It showed Melvin installing something behind the TV and also plugging the TV in. The dean said that it was something that would allow Melvin to turn the TV on or off remotely.
I was livid! Did Melvin plan this? I reminded everyone about the rules, then angrily told the dean about the pregnant woman I had just met and how Melvin was trying to break another rule by using her. Both the dean and my supervisor were speechless. I wanted to find Melvin right now, seriously considering slapping him.
But nobody knew where Melvin was. People had been trying to contact him since last night. Then, Melvin’s wife called the dean.Professor Melvin was found dead on the stairs last night. He fell and broke his neck. She said his body was contorted in an unnatural way, with his legs twisted and wrapped around the stairs’ railings. He died with his eyes wide open, filled with fear, glaring intensely at the front door.
The dean and my supervisor were both stunned. They turned to me, trying to see if I was going to join them in being shocked. No, I was still angry, and partly at them, for allowing this to happen. The dean then avoided any more eye contact with me. I think that by that point she was a believer.
Suddenly the pregnant woman from earlier appeared behind me. She had her hands on her hip and her face was full of defiance. She quickly turned to sneer at me before approaching the dean. She said that I dared told her that she was not allowed to enter the building, confident that this would get me in trouble.
She went on a rant about how she paid taxes and that she had the right to be in any place that was public’. She then asked where is Professor Melvin and that she was ready for the job he promised.
The dean, my supervisor, and I just looked at her, stunned. Her confidence started to slowly fade from the woman’s face as she was wondering what was going on. Suddenly, a little beeping sound broke the silence. It was coming from the gallery. The little lights on the front of the miniature fire station started to blink.

2023.05.29 17:23 LeeMastah Howdy from Texas A&M!
I'm in the area for about 10 weeks for a summer job and after a 12-hour car drive and unpacking most of the day, I walked y'alls' campus. I'm honestly really jealous of how green and scenic the whole campus is and how the architecture blends together unlike A&M (
here's an example of one of our eyesores lol). Anyways, I only really know people in the place I'm staying and at my job, so if y'all have any recommendations on where to eat or would like to hang out, please let me know! I really want to try and storm chase and would love to get a group together since it makes it safer and more enjoyable. I also tried looking for discords to join for people in the area, but most of them had invalid links or were for classes and it would be awkward to join one.
TLDR; Y'all have a super pretty campus to be proud of and I am excited to stay here over the summer!

2023.05.29 17:22 BagelBiteQuasar Starlink remote start locked me out of the car.
Was doing a little mountain biking. Came back to the car ('22 Outback Wilderness) and began putting my things in the passenger seat, including my bag with my keys and wallet inside. Decided to be lazy and start cooling the car via remote start - hit the button on the app, tossed the phone in the seat and closed the door to proceed with putting the bike on the rack. Remote start promptly locked all the doors and started the car. Engine cut off 10 minutes later but the car remained locked.
That was a fun day.

2023.05.29 17:20 Industriasoul Is my wok seasoned properly?
Yo.
I bought a carbon steel wok the other day, and I've since started the seasoning process. I started by scrubbing it with a steel wool and detergent, and then I dried it off, cranked the heat to max and burned off the outer coating. It smelled like burnt plastic, but I'm not surprised by that.
The thing is, today I started applying oil for the final stage of the seasoning. I washed it agaon before I began, this time with a sponge. However, when I added the oil at ripping heat, all I smelled was burnt plastic, and nobody in my family trusts this wok whatsoever, including myself.
Lastly, I have photos, but can't post them. They add a lot of context and information to this post, so I'll send them to anyone who needs.
EDIT: I forgot to mention my wok isn't black. It's shiny silver. I don't know if it's supposed to be black, I can't find a conclusive answer.
(There is another matter, being that I can't even finish burning off all of the coating, because the handle is plastic, so there's like 10% of the pan with the coating on it still, but it doesn't look like it'll be an issue.)

2023.05.29 17:19 BuildtheHerd The Brainwashing of Harry...Who, When and How
Many of us now believe that H was always an a$$...that his behavior since his marriage to Megs shows the "real" H, whose cheeky chappy image in the past was created and maintained by palace staff through brilliantly crafted PR. Although H's envy of his brother and his anger at being progressively bumped lower in the royal hierarchy with the arrival of each of William's children have festered over years, the extent of his discontent was not evident to the public nor to his family.
In
Spare, Harry discloses his family's belief that he has been brainwashed when he tells the story about the vicious row that he and William engaged in through text messages over the span of 72 hours; in these texts, William expressed his concern for H's wellbeing and his belief that H had been brainwashed by his therapist. I believe that this vicious row took place immediately after the documentary
Harry and Meghan: An African Journey aired in the UK in October 2019. The documentary showed the couple's discontent with royal life and contained the interview in which Megs thanked Tom Bradby for asking if she was OK because nobody else had asked (poor Meghan!); it also included Harry's statement that he and his brother were 'on different paths.' To put the timing of this in context, the documentary aired immediately after William and Catherine returned from a very successful royal tour of Pakistan, thus pushing the Cambridges out of the spotlight and blindsiding William, who was unaware of the extent of H's discontent.
I believe that early in their relationship Meg started filling H's brain with psychobabble, encouraging him to engage in unorthodox therapies, and convincing him that airing his grievances is an important part of healing from his "trauma." She is the one who has brainwashed H as part of her plan to capitalize on their fame and monetize their titles and association with the royal family. H's abandonment of the royals' "never complain, never explain" mantra occurred
AFTER Megs entered his life.
RED FLAG: In the Oprah interview H said that despite being "trapped," he "didn't see a way out" or realize he was trapped until he met Meghan. I suspect that KC3 retains a soft spot for H because he believes that H has been brainwashed and is hopeful that some day H will wake up and extricate himself from the cult of Meghan. In the meantime, “a source close to the royal family said the King, Camilla [his wife] and [Prince] William believe the situation will remain unchanged while the Duke of Sussex remains effectively ‘kidnapped by a cult of psychotherapy and Meghan.’” (Source: Independent, 10 Jan 2023

The tactics of the brainwasher sound very familiar…they match Meg's MO:"A cult leade[brainwasher] presents a warm and friendly disposition to gain a person’s trust, then slowly breaks down the person by calling him or her names, forcing him or her to work, and engaging in other forms of abuse. This abuse might be interspersed with periodic kindness in conjunction with isolation from loved ones, rendering the person completely dependent on the cult leader. Brainwashing sometimes involves the use of powerful mind-altering drugs to induce feelings of euphoria and hallucinations. A related concept, Stockholm Syndrome, occurs when a captive begins to empathize with his or her captor and may even collude with the captor." Source:

I'm curious to hear the community's thoughts on this...please share your opinions!
