I met this guy online and we were just chatting, I mentioned how I was ugly and he asked to see a photo of me, I sent him my photo and he said I was cute and asked if I wanted to get to know him and I was like yeah. He's honestly not been a bad guy at all but he does seem desperate for a relationship. He has told me things such as he is the type of person who believes a relationship can fix him. He also sounds like he is someone who reads incel/red pill ideology. He told me he is going to the gym so he can hopefully get a girlfriend and has flexed his muscles to me. I talked to him a lot one day, then he said talking to me makes him develop a crush for me. I told him it's better if we just stay friends for now since we met only recently. He said that we can be friends but when he talks to me he starts developing a crush for me and that he doesn't want to like me only for me to reject him in the end. Idk but it seems like he is trying to force me into a relationship a little bit? I started avoiding him after this since I didn't like feeling cornered in this way and honestly feel guilty about not liking him back, but didn't have the guts to reject him either - I also kind of like him but not enough to be sure I want to date him which is why I am confused. He then got mad and said I had left him on read for 12 hours and if I didn't wanna be friends I could've just said that.  | So this is my new guy, Stubs. If anyone was following with my previous posts, I had been looking for a long time for a friend for my budgie, Helmet, who also cannot (or will not???) fly. I finally found Stubs, who is missing part of his wing as you can see in the photo. Supposedly his mom chewed it off when he was a baby. So he’s never flown. He’s about 3 years old. submitted by Happytequila to pidgeypower [link] [comments] So now that Helmet and Stubs have each other, I built them a special needs cage below my big cage for the flighted guys. Both of them will now be living at floor level, to prevent injury from big falls. ANYWAY. I am 1000000000000% opposed to wing clipping. I feel sick thinking about it at all. But, I’m getting to know Stubs, he surprisingly will put in a pretty ferocious effort into “flying” (he literally cannot fly at all though) which makes me want to smack Helmet, who HAS been able to fly before and has two beautiful, intact wings…but won’t even flutter his wings when chucking himself off of tall places to slow down his falls. Helmet is just like….hmmm. Nope. I vibrates my wings earlier this week and yeah, it’s not for me…then here is poor Stubs with half a wing still putting forth valiant effort 🤦🏼♀️ God I’ve spoiled Helmet lol. Sorry, I ramble. So Stubs, when he gives these great efforts to fly, will just bounce and flop around pretty violently, like a fish out of water. I’m told his tail feathers are missing from falling so much, but I can now see that with the way he flops around, his tail feathers probably broke off from that, too. So tonight, I thought that it would probably be much better for him to have his good, full, lovely wing clipped. I feel evil for even thinking it, even though he can’t fly regardless. I just need some people to reassure me that this is, in fact, going to help Stubs and that it’s a good idea and give me some confidence that im making the right choice. I know this is dumb af because it really seems to make loads of sense to me that clipping that one good wing is, in his case, like sly a positive thing; it will even his wings out and improve his overall balance, and hopefully when is flapping those wings with all his might, it will keep him balance and upright rather than flipping around erratically. And then hopefully help his feathers recover (which I would think being able to grow and maintain tail feathers would further assist with overall balance) I still feel like I’m an evil person, though. So I really just need some other people to tell me if I does make sense and would probably help him out to clip his only good wing. Thanks guys. |

Here’s the sitch: I live in a studio apartment. It’s an old building, built I believe sometime in the 1930’s, and has problems with burst pipes/water leaking in the hallways/fire alarm going off at random at least once a month. About three weeks ago, I woke up to water dripping on my forehead. The ceiling had multiple ballooning water pockets that were filling up, starting to drip, and clearly about to explode. I moved as many as my belongings as I could and set pots etc out to catch the water; however a couple of the bubbles burst before I could relocate the things underneath them. Once this happened, the water spilled out and just kept pouring.
I captured multiple videos of the leaks absolutely dumping water all over my place. One of the water leaks destroyed my MacBook and it’s charger (it’s an older model but still a loss), a bunch of my clothes, and two fairly expensive pairs of shoes. Obviously I had called maintenance right away, and once they arrived and determined the cause (dude in the unit above me had tried to install a bidet and fucked something up) they set up large blowers in the room to dry it out. When I contacted my property management group, they said any losses I had incurred were not their responsibility and that if my renter’s insurance didn’t cover anything (doesn’t cover any type of water damage) then I was out of luck. Not even an offer to put me up in a hotel while the apartment dried out.
Fast forward to 3 days ago - I came back from a long day at work and sat down on my bed. It was soaked through. Looked up and, sure enough, the ceiling had leaked again from one of the exact same spots as before; although it had stopped dripping at some point. Contacted property management and received a call back in the morning saying they would send maintenance team back over. Guys showed up, took some photos, said they would be in touch and left. Next day I still hadn’t heard anything back, until I head out to work and find and 30-day notice taped to my door. Called property management and asked what the fuck. They told me the damage to my ceiling was too severe and that they would have to vacate the unit until they could tear the ceiling apart. They are still providing zero financial compensation, no options to transfer me to another apartment (unless something “comes up” between now and then) and again, not even offering to put me up in a hotel while my mattress dries (it’s still soaked).
What are my options here? I’m incredibly frustrated and now have to look for new housing in a tough market. I have been renting here for 2 years.

Amazon and UPS has swallowed up everything in its path, even the United States Fish and Wildlife Service bowed down to them, allowing an 8,000 year old grassland to be wiped off the face of the earth.
The Endangered Species Act was violated, and yet they only got a slap on the wrist. The USFWS that implemented the law, did not enforce it, holding hands with the airport and big money.
The law is not supposed to allow any damage to an endangered species habitat, but the law was bended to allow a bulldozer to go through 10 acres of the once 15 acres prairie. The habitat was undisturbed for so long, all the construction is causing significant damage.
Rockford International Airport is expanding, and it’s due to demand of packages.
Since online shopping is quick and easy, it is the norm for many. But it needs to be boycotted, boycotting Amazon and UPS will send a clear message.
If anyone you know likes Amazon or uses UPS, tell them to boycott them.
I have seen many things from online, that could simply be bought from the local grocery store or market. Now that Bell Bowl Prairie is ruined, I see that the Endangered Species Act is essentially non existent. Nature deserves respect, and the boycott is the last thing that may make a difference.
If we don’t boycott Amazon, Rockford International Airport and UPS, then the effort to save Bell Bowl was all in vain. The more you shop local, the better for the environment it is, and the less the expansion plan is needed to make room for packages and delivery trucks.

Hi all. I'm 26 years old, female. I take vitamins (D3, B12, Iron, Vitamin C, Fish Oil and Hyaluronic Acid) and I'm anemic. I don't have the money to go see a doctor right now, so I'm trying to figure out what's happening and if this is ringworm. I'm prone to allergies and skin rashes that go away pretty fast on their own, so I didn't pay enough attention when I first noticed this rash on my inner thigh. I only started to worry when it had been on my skin for 3 weeks. It had slightly raised edges and a pink/red color to it, and it hasn't been itchy at all. I bought ringworm cream at CVS (the CVS health brand, as it was the only one available in the store) and started applying it. At first, it was shrinking and I felt like my skin was tight on day #3, but then it increased in size. I've been applying the cream for 7-8 days now, and while the edges look less raised and I have some dry skin patches now, the size isn't getting any smaller (as seen in the photo). Does this mean it's not working, or will it go away eventually? Also, when I first apply the cream, I feel a burning sensation for about 10 seconds, but it goes away. Should I switch to a different cream, or maybe this isn't ringworm? Could the fungi have adapted to the cream, so it's no longer effective?

2023.03.30 03:05 Lacagada Need help on finding what I was told is a rod for “spinning”.
I’ve always practiced surf fishing and saw that a friend in Peru was getting some huge (12kg) corvinas by using lures rather than bait. So, I figured I’d give it a try next time I went to Peru. I got myself a 13’ travel rod and a nice 6000 Penn reel, but when I went out with my friend he told me i had the wrong gear. He said what I had was good for surf fishing , but the type of fishing he does is called “spinning” (he speaks Spanish so it might be a mis-translated term, idk) and that I needed a 9’-6” to 10’ rod for “spinning” which are lighter, and also a smaller reel (size 4000 max). The technique is basically you cast a 1-1/3 oz (40g) lure as far as you can into the surf and you retrieve it and do it constantly, which is why you need a long-ish rod but one that is also very light as well as a light-ish reel since the constant casting really wears on you. Any idea what this style of fishing is called in English? His gear is all Peruvian local market so checking out what he has doesn’t help much. This is what he uses
