2023.04.01 12:53 Ok_Scene_1122 Deco Mini 7 ($46) or Star 03 v2 ($55)?

These two are on sale in my country for the prices mentioned in the title. Deco 01 v2, for example isn't on sale and costs $92.
I like Mini 7 more, but wonder if it's big enough. I'd use it for image editing, writing and as a mouse substitute. I'd still like to try drawing sometimes.
My monitor is 24 inch 1080p, and might get another one. I don't plan on upgrading to higher resolution or bigger size for another 4-5 years.

Edmonton Acreage For Sale – Make Sure You Know What You Are Looking For
A professional who specializes in selling full-time residences in the area is a good choice for a buyer who wants to buy one. On the other hand, it is preferable for people looking for investment properties to work with a person who has been facilitating such transactions with other investors for a few years.
Set up a face-to-face meeting with the home expert to get a full picture of his or her skills and expertise, even if the candidate meets these four qualities. Most professionals are more than happy to answer questions from potential customers. Using these tips to find a real estate agent for Luxury House For Sale Edmonton will make the entire home buying or selling process much simpler.
Be sensible and start at the lowest level when bidding on a home. You should be cautious enough to deal intelligently because there are numerous buyers for these activities. Before placing a bid, the property rates should not be disclosed.

Edmonton Acreage For Sale
You must review the property's legal documents after purchasing the available repossessed home. Written documents must be used for all payments. Before hiring a lawyer to keep the records, make sure that payments are made.
There are three options available in the event of a foreclosure: the pre-foreclosure home, the REO (real estate owned) or even property-owned home offered by the lender following the foreclosure, and the home offered during the foreclosure period. There is a brief sale at the pre-foreclosure point.
The price stays low, and the atmosphere in the house is simple. All REO units are exempt from this rule, but there may be a slight price increase. Banks are offering substantial discounts to sell the numerous repossessed homes.
In most countries, a place to live must have facilities for sleeping, cooking, and bathing. Each studio in a condominium shares some common areas. Your studio or bachelor attic, which has one room, a kitchenette, and a tub, is one popular living space.
The next software takes you to the point where the available home goes up for auction while this mortgage is foreclosed on. Some of these houses are bought by investors, while others are bought by banks so they can keep the land.
The next strategy is to acquire the available foreclosed homes that are bank property. Because everything is taken care of ahead of time, this is the simplest method for having a home available.
It is important to do your homework well and know everything there is to know about real estate if you want to own a beautiful home. The primary factor that led to the listing of your home on the market for foreclosure is the owner's inability to pay the mortgage balance.
That is a lot of money, but when the realtor does their job well, it's not outrageous. There is some wonderful news. Many people are unaware that a realtor can be used to negotiate contract conditions. Why are they intending to do so? The fact that you are not a one-trick pony is a fantastic justification. You do not just have one piece of land; you also have a lot of homes for sale. Even at a slightly lower amount, the commissions are likely to add up quickly, right?
A potential buyer for the Edmonton Acreage For Sale would be tempted to squirm, rush through the screening as quickly as possible, and then move on to another property. A skilled stager can completely turn this around. They are experts at making available those homes. What do people look at when they enter your house through the front door? They check out the landscaping, front door, porch, brick, and paint on the house. Most likely, a lot of the homes for sale in this area need a little facelift.

2023.04.01 12:52 alikr1234 Assignment sale taxes + capital gains

I am pretty confused of some of the tax implications on condo assignment sale and selling a rental property after 1 year. Booked in 2021.
Scenario 1, Rental property sale after holding for 1 year. Purchase price: 500,000 Downpayment: 100,000 Sale price: 700,000 Gross Profit: 200,000
Suppose principle left is 500,000. Would gain tax be applicable on 50% of Sale price - Purchase price = 200,000? OR Sale price - purchase price - downpayment= 100,000? Would downpayment be considered as my investment?
Scenario 2, Assignment Sale today i.e. AFTER May, 2022 changes. Purchase price: 500,000 Deposit: 100,000 Sale price: 700,000 Gross Profit: 200,000
Now which one is correct: HST on Gross Profit: 26,000 HST on deposit: 13,000 Business income tax: 100,000 (50% rate for example) Net profit: 61,000 OR HST on Gross profit: 26,000 Business income tax: 100,000 (50% rate for example) Net profit: 74,000
Please correct me. Thanks!

2023.04.01 12:51 RyanzRetroReviewz Island in the Sky-1953-RyanzRetroReviewz

Island in the Sky - 1953

Island in the sky is a 1953 adventure/aviation-disaster movie, directed by William A. Wellman, and starring John Wayne, as well as an ensemble cast of well known B-feature actors of their day, including; Lloyd Nolan, Walter Abel, James Arness, Andy Devine and Harry Carey, Jr.
The story is based off the novel of the same name, and apparent true story by the writer Ernest K. Gann, concerning a downed airplane of the Air Transport Command during WWII, the survival of its crew, and the subsequent search and rescue operation throughout the frozen and unmapped Canadian North to save them.
This movie, along with another Ernest K. Gann novel turned into film "The High and The Mighty" released one year later in 1954 (also by the Wayne and Welland duo), would go on to set the bar for the all-star cast aviation-disaster style movies that were to follow starting with 1970's "Airplane", and it's subsequent sequels.
The movie starts off with what feels like an authentic educative wartime newsreel, taking us into the lives of the civilian air transportation command of World War 2, what it is they do, and what perils they face in the skies.
From this sequence we come to meet pilot Captain Dooley and the rest of the crew of "The Corsair", crossing over the Canadian north, en-route back from a delivery of army supplies overseas. When a severe snowstorm causes the plane's wings to ice over, the rough and tumble Douglas C-47 Skytrain makes a crash landing on down onto a frozen lake somewhere near the Quebec-Labrador border. Now with no bearings, limited radio contact and poor supplies of food and clothing, the crew now relies on the hopes that a search-and-rescue party will find them, and quick.
The other half of this movie is shown from the viewpoint of multiple other pilots, as they relentlessly plan, and carry out multiple different search-and-rescue operations for their downed comrades from their last known position, in completely unmapped territory.
This ensemble cast of feature character actors delivers a perfect blend macho-comedy and strong emotional determination, as they defy all odds and show no fear in the face of the frozen skies, refusing to even entertain the idea that the crew of the Corsair could have perished, no matter how hopeless the situation becomes.
Back down at the Corsair, in continuing on with the classic "Wayne-way", Dooley does his job as leader and keeps up the spirits of the others, setting round the clock tasks to keep everybody's mind at ease, including the building of a warmer bush shelter in change of the cold steel airplane.
However, when the rescue party flies directly over the Corsair without even seeing it (having been buried in a snowstorm the night before), coupled with the death of one from the harsh elements, hope begins to dwindle for Dooley and the rest of the crew.
Will the rescue party make a second turn around the area before the severe weather closes in? Will Dooley and the crew of the Corsair survive the elements in time to be found alive?
To sum it all up, Island in the Sky is an extremely enjoyable movie, full of top notch acting, showing Wayne in arguably one of his greatest full on "acting" roles ever (one of the only to show him in a dire state of hopeless panic), but truly elevated by the surplus of veteran character actors.
This coupled along with the absolute realistic on location shoot of the snowy crash site, more than believable interior sets, authentic costuming, and amazing first hand aerial photography (thanks to WWII combat photographer and pioneer in aerial cinematography William H. Clothier) using 3 separate contemporary army transport airplanes.
When all rounded together by the all time great director William A. Wellman (who himself was known as "Wild Bill" in his World War 1 flying days and went on to direct many of the greatest aviation movies of his era starting with "Wings" in 1929), this movie has almost nothing negative to say about it, plain and simple.

And that's all he wrote folks.
Thanks for reading.

2023.04.01 12:50 Deafbok9 Milo crossed the rainbow bridge today.

Milo crossed the rainbow bridge today.
Today, I am broken.
This year has had one emotional gut punch after another, from not making the SA Deaf Rugby world cup squad to personal issues to needing a full kitchen rebuild...and now today.
Goodbye is the hardest thing to say.
Milo crossed the rainbow bridge at 08h37. He went peacefully and easily in our arms after spending a last glorious morning in a patch of sunshine. He knew he was loved to the end - and let us know he loved us.
He was the first dog I had that was mine. The little idiot moved out with me when I left my parents' home because he kept tangling with their German Shepherds - the worst fight resulted in him getting a puncture through his snout, & when the skin slipped over the break...He swelled up like a balloon. Looked like one of those animals in the "If animals were fat" comic short animations.
So, on moving day, my mother announced that either my brother or I would have to take him.
So, that was it. One potato dog & a bachelor in a tiny wooden hut.
He was my companion throughout my 20s. He was there when I started dating my wife, & I think managed to capture her heart as much as I did.
He was full of rubbish. Came to us addicted to coffee & tea - used to whine & get the shakes for it if we didn't give him the last little bit in the mug!
Always loved just being with us.
He managed to surprise us often, though - at an SPCA dog walk/charity event, this lazy little couch potato WON an agility competition! He'd never so much as done a course before in his life, but went with my wife & flew over all the obstacles.
Won a few months' worth of food for himself off that one, which really helped my student budget...
When we got married & moved to Westville, he bullied our landlady's Great Danes mercilessly. Schmuck.
Then there was the Dassie incident. He cornered it behind our flat. There was much barking. As we got up to investigate, he came flying back, blood everywhere, before turning around and hurtling out again. I had to guide the very upset rodent to the gate with a broom, & the sausage added another scar on his nose to his collection of battle scars.
He also chased a few alpacas on a visit to a friend's farm. Never did actually click to his actual size, and always, always was larger than life.
There were scary moments, too, like the time he almost drowned after falling in our landlord's pool the first day after we moved in.
A move down to Durban North meant trips to the beach. We also got to meet "Uncle Pete", our last landlord, who took a real shine to him & would often take him with on adventures with his dogs whilst we were at work.
As he got older, the walks got shorter, & eventually he became the talk of the Umhlanga promenade because dad had to carry him every time - eventually in his own shoulder-slung bag.
He was there for our engagement, our wedding, and every anniversary.
He helped us through the tough times, through the fights and the tears and the disappointments that life throws at you.
He kept us sane during lockdown...(Did he really..?)
At long last, we landed in our first home that was ours. One blind, deaf, but faithful old boy in tow, with Bakkies, a rescue cat we'd picked up along the way. They tolerated each other, with moments of affection. Bakkies went first.
This week, we knew it was the end.
We had one last glorious day.
Break-up day at school, so mom & dad were home early. We got to sit outside in the sunshine in our little garden together.
We went to the park & got spoilt rotten.
Chimkin nuggets. Biltong. All the cuddles.
We got a hoof, our favourite treat.
Then we sat outside with mom and dad, and got to have coffee again after years of "sobriety", having been weaned off his addiction soon after we got married.
A beautiful morning for our last day on earth.
We got to sit with mom and dad for a few hours in a patch of Sun. There were head scritches and tail wags.
A last dance with mom.
An hour or so just sitting on dad's lap.
In the end, he slipped away peacefully - one last lick, tail going slowly, as he fell asleep in my arms.
Farewell, Milo.
You were the best dog anyone could have hoped for.

2023.04.01 12:44 OrganicGuy007 [WTS] Morgan Dollars etc interntionally / overseas, looking for advises

QUESTION, SEEKING ADVISE * PLEASE READ ALL IF YOU WANT TO GIVE ME AN ADVISE
I'm an owner of a huge collection Morgan, Liberty Seated and ancient Greek coins (all silver), I inherited the coins after my father who passed away a few years ago. I have 822 coins and 788 pcs of them are Morgans $1 and now I want to sell the more expensive one's. The highest valued one's are 2 pcs of 1892-S, 3 pcs of 1895-O (two cleaned), 3 pcs of 1889-CC (one cleaned), one 1796, one 1799, one 1803, and 3 pcs Mercury Dime 1916-D, and at last 3 pcs of ancient Greek coins. Total value PCGS is $210,000 to $265,000 USD depending on how the cleaned one's are evaluated (that's hammer price, auctions fee's excluded).
Thing is... here in Europe the interest of US silver coins is very low, there are extremely few serious collectors here and the handfull I contacted offered me a completely ridicules sum of approximately 40-50% of the value for my coins. I sell for 85-90% hammer price PCGS value if there is not too much talking and I see a serious business approach. All coins I have for sale are PCGS certified, so there isn't that much to talk about regarging the value.
NOW MY QUESTIONS.... how should I proceed? I contacted Heritage Auctions in Dallas TX, but they have far to long waiting time, I would like to have my money at least within a month so that I can renovate my house before the summer. How would you proceed selling your high valued coins if you lived in Europe? My family name is well known in EU and I have plenty of references that can vouch for me. Sending the coins without at least part of the asgreed selling price up-front is out of the question. I have no experience in far distance international coin deals and wonder if someone here could help me out with suggestions on how to sell my coins without too much complications. All help is appreciated, thanks

2023.04.01 12:43 Rantandburn I’m about to be a first gen college student and the only female in my family to complete secondary school, I’m hoping to become a biomedical engineer and looking for some insight on the field.

For A-levels I’ve done Math Physics and Biology and they’re all things I love and excel in, I don’t want to do med but I love biology and physics so I decided biomedical engineering is really my best fit. I’ve looked into job descriptions and I love what I see. However I never see positive comments from people who pursue BME or people talking about the degree. So to anyone with advice to offer:
1) Is BME truly so unrewarding? Why is it that people complain about completing this degree?
2) Is it really that difficult to land a job/internship after university? I have seen so many complaints about this but I see so many openings and internships in my local hospitals for BMEs
3) Is the pay right out of college bad? Answer as privately as you’d like I just want to know if I’m gonna really not be able to afford much (I’m already really struggling financially as I’m about to be the 1st gen university student in my family who I will be supporting later down)
4) Will the degree be really time consuming as opposed to other engineering degrees?
5) What are your overall thoughts on this degree if I’ve failed to ask questions of substance for you?
