Being an aRPG fan for more then 20 years, i think i've played all major releases in these times (have you played the second Titan Quest add-on? Well, i did :) ), starting from Diablo 2. I've played D1 only couple of years ago. Enjoyed it from the "touch the history" perspective. And i have some thoughts about the upcoming release. Will (at least) try to hold this theme in a way that common sense dictates. So, let you all be open-minded to another people's opinions, calm down and let's talk.
Due to some IRL stuff i couldnt play all characters, but tried 3.5/5 of them - being the Necromancer, the Sorceress, the Rogue and 0.5 stands for the Big Boi Barbarian, because i've leveled him to some extend, but not to 25 - thus can't say much about build diversity of this particular individual.
And oh boy, i have things to say.
I guess i will start not from pros and cons, but from theme to a theme, and both pros and cons will be inside of each one.
Let's start.
**Graphics.**
The highly subjective stuff. Keep that in mind.
When D2 came out it revolutionazed the genre, both mechanically and visually. It developed D1 aspects to an extreme extent. People tend to say that D2 graphics are almost ideal. But why? Because this aspect of the game consists of very, very big amount of those big and small things that all make the big picture. Some of them are: color scheme, design and clarity. And all of these 3 are important in the same value.
Diablo 2 had dark color scheme, a medieval visual design with quite some amount of gothic elements and a decent amount of visual clarity on the screen. While playing it you could not only your character, but everything that was happening on the screen. And only in very, very dense situations you started to have problems with it. But that is the problem of every and every aRPG i've played, so i guess this can be considered "a norma".
Path of Exile, for example, also has a dark color scheme, european medieval themed design with aztec elements in it, and visual clarity that bad that developers actually sell a way to diable your auras and skill effects (one per purchase, ofcourse :D) in the game so in the actual fight you can see stuff that is going on.
Diablo 3's color palette was definately more vibrant, colorfull and bright then D2. More... Cartoonish. And that was both good and bad at the same time. Yes, it was new to the player base and a large portion of people did not appreciate that descendance from the roots. *To be honest with you all, i think that a lot of those people cry that D3 is a piece of stinky s**t at every glance of that game being mentioned anywhere in their infofield solely because of this. Two of my friends are guilty of this, and this is fracking embaracing.* BUT it provided the substantial amount of visual clarity to the game. Exactly becuase of the very high visual contrast and adequate mob density, spacing and modeling you always know what is happening on the screen, apart from the same situations you starting to loose visual control in D2 - the extreme density ones with enemies of different size and variety. Visual design of D3 is, to my liking (reminder here - a HIGHLY SUBJECTIVE STUFF), is better then in D2 because of a lot more gothic-styled elements. I just like that.
So, after all that i've said before, visuals of Diablo 4 Act I did not strike my heart. No, visuals are not bad, not at all. I think this is the best i've seen in an industry from the technical point of view. Clutter is scattered not brainlessly, but each item has it's own purpose to not brake the immersion. More on that later. But the color palette is too washed out. The visual design is *just* an european medieval, without any gothic elements whatsoever. It becomes very blunt, tedious pretty fast and apart from one(sic!) dungeon out of what, 20 or something like this, the picture you're looking at blends into one grey mass. Try to name one place that stands out other then that gore-themed dungeon (and last mission of Act I campaign wich is basicly the same place). The visuals of D4 aI are immersive at times, very technically advanced, but dull. Let's see what surprises Kehjistan and Hawezar prepare to us ;)

**World building**
When you walk through the city, you suddenly start to believe that actual people are living in the actual damn city. Apart from the New Tristram, for example. Dialogues are placed very immersively. Things you can touch and / or talk to all add another layer. Did you click on that table in the war room when talking to the bald lady with tattoed head (dont remmeber her name)? :) If you do you know that there are a lot of red marks and arrows on that wartable and all of them are pointed towards the "glorious city of Caldeum"! Did you see that Iron Maiden that was present in last mission was actually located before that very same war room and even more - you could talk to a priest standing nearby and ask why the hell this thing is here? He would tell you some interesting things. And those mini-events are spreaded out everywhere. This is how you should make people immersed into your game.
The one thing i'd like this game to get from D3 is different vendor's stories to be tied to the game's lore. I enjoyed having the same Shen and Haedrig from aI to aIV with Myriam joining in aV to the Team Nephalem. Throught the campaign Shen and Headrig had pretty interesting lines to say about the situation. Especially Shen. Well, technincally Shen was from aII but you get the point.
I missed the same in D4. Vendors are just random people without any lore behind them.
**Technical state.**
It was a beta-test, aimed to stress-test the servers and check overall stability of the game. And, at the moment of beta-test, that looked pretty bad to be honestly. Continuous rubber-banding problems and pocket losses. But Blizzard have 2.5 months to fix those problems, and i know that their technical engineers can do really magical stuff sometime. Look at the BfA or Legion starts. They were buttery smooth. Hope dies last, i guess.
But what i do have big concerns, it is about the loading stutters. I guess that is happening because of some problems with asset loading mechanics and that can not be fixed in the time remains before launch. Did not bother me a lot by the way, but a lot of people may (and will) find it frustrating.
**Itemization**
I'm not gonna compare it to PoE or even Last Epoch itemisation. If LE's system is not the same league as D4's, then PoE's is not even the same universe. PoE itemisation system is the first one that made me realise that i am too stupid for something.
So, i've found D4's one... Mediocre. At best.
White and blue items were not picked up by anyone even in beta. Even rings and amulets. They will have the same fate as D3 item's do - either left on the floor or straight into the grinder, without looking at the item. Better let it be like in D3's last season lol - let mobs drop salvaging reagents and save us all some time and not braking the combat flow.
The amount of stats on items is very small in both value of sheer numbers and variety. Stats are very, VERY situational, but in my opinion, that is even better then having general CHD / CHC / CDR / Area Damage on every item equipped, like we have in D3. You can either laser-focus your items to your build or make mediocre gear that will work in any situations. In my opinion, this variety is great.
Ookey, and now that part where i asked you to be open-minded? This is the time :) Or you will throw rotten tomatoes at me all at once, i dont know.
*Runewords in Diablo 2's variant are bad*. Hoy hoy, stop right there! Let me explain.
Tell me, dear reader, in Diablo 2, when was the last time you equipped a yellow weapon on your sorc? A yellow shield on your paladin? A yellow chestpiece on any of the characters? Oh, and here's your answer - "when i was leveling before i could do Baal runs". And even before them you have NPC literally giving to you RalOrtTal runeword that you will put in the shield and will never drop till you run the level that does not exist, get 4s monarch and make a Spirit.
*Runewords make 99% of all items in the game in this particular slot obsolete*. Exclusions are quite rare and almost all of them are uniques. How these items are different from the set pieces?
***Yes, i am for the runes, but not in Diablo 2 way.*** For example - make them add value to the item. Or add value to stats. Or add new stats to the existing item, whether it be yellow or legendary or rare. Change the base needed from only grey item to any item in the game.
Crafting is basicly non-existent at this moment. I'm not asking system where you can craft an item through 6 different systems (im looking at you, PoE), but come on, at least something.
Trading is basicly non-existent at this moment. I'm not asking about the auction house, but at least for some kind of a trading board where you can write "have X, want Y or else". Even D2R has it in it's own form.
**the GOLD situation**
Personally i found that on the beta gold wasnt the problem whatsoever. I've managed to upgrade my characters up to pre-last upgrades very fast (e.g. within an hour on all three characters combined), and i really don't think that anyone will need to do more then that.
Respec cost was also (and will also be) not a problem whatsoever. That depends on the scaling, but i guess to respec all ~60 points in the tree (with all potential locations skill bonus points unlocked) will cost us probably 20-50k gold. And that is even if you will want to change your whole build on lvl 50. One full inventory in beta was worth ~18-30k gold, and will cost even more on high lvls. That's some quick maths for ya.
The gold will not be a problem at one moment. And that moment will not be far in the endgame, many people are just exagerrating.
***UI***
Oh. My. God.
Slap the UI designer teamlead on the wrists and just redo it.
Character panel. Map. Statistics. Descriptions. Everything is made poorly, non-intuitive and unresponsive.
Why ditching the old, comfy, character screen where items were "equipped" on your character schematic picture, for this Diablo Immortal abomination?
Map overlay where?
Statistics screen is one big pile of everything.
Item descriptions are so big and unoptimized that sometimes you have to scroll to see your legendary affix on that item.
Just... No.
**Class designs.**
Oof. On some classes i thought that devs actually forgot to activate "Skill Page #2" button. But let's do class by class, from the ones that i've tried. Let's call it the "page #2" situation, okey?
Also a disclamer - i will talk about the mechanics and skill interactions. ***Not about the numbers.*** You can just draw an additional 0 in the end of all Druid numbers and *suddenly* whole community will praise this class. Class that does small numbers is not the bad class, it has the bad damage. And vice versa. E.g. i get it, numbers go brrrr, but come on - we're gonna play this game for a very long time and we want to play it without a finger in the bottoms.
As a Necromancer i found that they took Diablo 3's Necromancer, cut his tree in half, made some homages to D2's one, slapped 4 passives and 3 new active skills and called it a day. I mean, i understand that D3's Necro was both step up and step down from D2's. It had really, really good moments, but also had some abilities just not implemented. Like teeth, poison nova or cage. In the end, D3's necro came out a bit rushed out, some mechanics were not working either properly or as intended, but as a WHOLE it was extremely fun to play. Mechanics were not too complicated, but deep enough. Diablo 3 Necromancer was as intended - a guardian of balance. Both in lore and in mechanics. Class designers brought new ways to work with corpses, necro's second resource. Devour, Corpse Lance, Land of the Dead, all this was intended to work in tandem in corpse-oriented builds.
Diablo 4's Necromancer has, well, corpse explosion and tendrils. THAT'S IT. And this is the whole ability spectrum for his resource? Pitiful.
On the other hand, class as a whole has a very interesting potential. Blood Lance build has nice single target damage, but requires the lance to stay for at least 5 seconds in targets, 3 is too low. Bone spear is also a great one. A consistent way to proc vulnerability. Some other builds that i've found working quite fine. But the sheer amount of abilities and their synergies are very small in numbers.
Wich is a good point of talking about Rogues. Remember "page #2" situation? Well, divide skills that you have by 2 once more! Because the difference between range rogue and melee rogue is very, very distinct and limits the amount of spenders (e.g. almost the only damage source) to two for the melee and 3 for the ranged specs. Two skills for the melee rogue to choose from? Wo-hoo, bring me the theorycraters!
Also, the tree is very limited for the free skillpoints that you will be able to spend. Count with me. You will take Shadow Imbuement because otherwise clearing a dungeon will be a pain. You will take Consuming Shadows (30 energy regen when kill a target with shadow damage) because this way you will have effecively infinite energy (before boss). You will take Dash because duh. You will take Dark Shroud because it's a 50% damage reduction, for pete's sake, also 10% more crit chance. And these nodes alone take 11 points out of your build. Nodes that are mandatory, because if you will not take them class will be unplayable - becuase starts to lack other resource regeneration, survivability or clear speed. Effectively you will not shoot your foot, you will shove your foot into the grinder and press "on" button with a maniacal laugh. Throw here usual 2 points to start the character (or 3 if you want vulnerability or minor energy regen), 7 points in spender and you get whole 11+3+7=21 points hardlocked, living you with total of 5 points to give your character some utility. On level 50 that will be easier, but also remember that Shadow Imbuement will loose it's weight right at the moment when you will stop oneshoting trashmobs, therefore forcing you to take Poison Imbuement.
Gameplay-wise rogue is so crispy though. This is the only class i actually ***ENJOYED*** playing. It was generally fun. But each time i've opened my skill tree to change something and seeing that i can do only so much, the feeling of sadness was filling my soul... This class is two absolutely different classes blended together, requires a lot of work, and sadly enough "page #2" situation is as acute as ever.
I can't say that about the Sorceress though. The starting point was great, the leveling was great, the "endgame" was great, the balance was f**king abhorrent. Sorc takes all of it's defensive skills with one common affix on a gear. The only class that can kill the Butcher solo without taking any damage AND legendary affixes on it's gear. Has very good amount of CC, absolbrs, immunes. This requires a substantial nerf and it ***will*** be nerfed. Blizzard hates when you can slap infinite invulnerability on your character and call it a day, so dont expect frost blades build be alive on release.
The "page #2" situation is still here, though not as acute as in the Rogue class. The problem is that, compaired to D2 she gained mechanics, ofcourse, became quite deeper, but compaired to both D2 and especially D3, sadly, our beloved chineese girl lost a lot of knowledge. Melee focused abilities - gone. Copies - gone. Different meteors - gone. Diamond skin - redesigned, and i personally dont like the animation. Etc. etc. etc. BUT the lack of sheer skill numbers she outweights by mechanics and skill interractions... I could even say they're good! This class feels like it was done as a first one and polished enough for the people to test.
About our Big Boi Barbarian (Druid is the Chunky Boi) i can tell that he was also taken from Diablo 3. From Dust Devils and Vortex on WW to HoTA, Ancients and Shouts mechanics (some of them are a homage to D2, wich is respectable).
Leveling him to 20 was a painful process and i started to take a glance on what BBB can become, but beta ended. I guess he will be the most straightforward class with 1 button usage, but only when you get enough legendary powers. Especially two of them - Fortify for rage spent and Rage regeneration while a shout is on. Why are these powers on a gear and NOT in a talent tree i can't say. Without them the existence is truly miserable.
And come on, add a fifth basic ability. Where is my weapon throw?
As i've stated before, i didnt even touch the druid, but i've heard that it has a good chunk (pun intended) of abilities and synergies and, as a result, quite an interesting playstyle. The only thing he lacks is the actual damage. But again, that's just a matter of slapping additional zero to his numbers.
So, in the end, in class designs my biggest concerns are rogues and necromancers.
***Ending words***
At the moment of open beta, this game had tremendous flaws and tremendous upsides. Some of them flaws can be easily fixed. Some of them cries for redesigning choices being made. But in the end, as for me personally, i will play Diablo 4, of course. BUT only when the season starts and not before. First two weeks will actually be some kind of a beta-test to check how their servers work en mass, some balance patches, gold cost reductions, crucial bugfixes etc etc.

Also, the tree is very limited for the free skillpoints that you will be able to spend. Count with me. You will take Shadow Imbuement because otherwise clearing a dungeon will be a pain. You will take Consuming Shadows (30 energy regen when kill a target with shadow damage) because this way you will have effecively infinite energy (before boss). You will take Dash because duh. You will take Dark Shroud because it's a 50% damage reduction, for pete's sake, also 10% more crit chance. And these nodes alone take 11 points out of your build. Nodes that are mandatory, because if you will not take them class will be unplayable - becuase starts to lack other resource regeneration, survivability or clear speed. Effectively you will not shoot your foot, you will shove your foot into the grinder and press "on" button with a maniacal laugh. Throw here usual 2 points to start the character (or 3 if you want vulnerability or minor energy regen), 7 points in spender and you get whole 11+3+7=21 points hardlocked, living you with total of 5 points to give your character some utility. On level 50 that will be easier, but also remember that Shadow Imbuement will loose it's weight right at the moment when you will stop oneshoting trashmobs, therefore forcing you to take Poison Imbuement.
Gameplay-wise rogue is so crispy though. This is the only class i actually ***ENJOYED*** playing. It was generally fun. But each time i've opened my skill tree to change something and seeing that i can do only so much, the feeling of sadness was filling my soul... This class is two absolutely different classes blended together, requires a lot of work, and sadly enough "page #2" situation is as acute as ever.
I can't say that about the Sorceress though. The starting point was great, the leveling was great, the "endgame" was great, the balance was f**king abhorrent. Sorc takes all of it's defensive skills with one common affix on a gear. The only class that can kill the Butcher solo without taking any damage AND legendary affixes on it's gear. Has very good amount of CC, absolbrs, immunes. This requires a substantial nerf and it ***will*** be nerfed. Blizzard hates when you can slap infinite invulnerability on your character and call it a day, so dont expect frost blades build be alive on release.
The "page #2" situation is still here, though not as acute as in the Rogue class. The problem is that, compaired to D2 she gained mechanics, ofcourse, became quite deeper, but compaired to both D2 and especially D3, sadly, our beloved chineese girl lost a lot of knowledge. Melee focused abilities - gone. Copies - gone. Different meteors - gone. Diamond skin - redesigned, and i personally dont like the animation. Etc. etc. etc. BUT the lack of sheer skill numbers she outweights by mechanics and skill interractions... I could even say they're good! This class feels like it was done as a first one and polished enough for the people to test.
About our Big Boi Barbarian (Druid is the Chunky Boi) i can tell that he was also taken from Diablo 3. From Dust Devils and Vortex on WW to HoTA, Ancients and Shouts mechanics (some of them are a homage to D2, wich is respectable).
Leveling him to 20 was a painful process and i started to take a glance on what BBB can become, but beta ended. I guess he will be the most straightforward class with 1 button usage, but only when you get enough legendary powers. Especially two of them - Fortify for rage spent and Rage regeneration while a shout is on. Why are these powers on a gear and NOT in a talent tree i can't say. Without them the existence is truly miserable.
And come on, add a fifth basic ability. Where is my weapon throw?
As i've stated before, i didnt even touch the druid, but i've heard that it has a good chunk (pun intended) of abilities and synergies and, as a result, quite an interesting playstyle. The only thing he lacks is the actual damage. But again, that's just a matter of slapping additional zero to his numbers.
So, in the end, in class designs my biggest concerns are rogues and necromancers.

At the moment of open beta, this game had tremendous flaws and tremendous upsides. Some of them flaws can be easily fixed. Some of them cries for redesigning choices being made. But in the end, as for me personally, i will play Diablo 4, of course. BUT only when the season starts and not before. First two weeks will actually be some kind of a beta-test to check how their servers work en mass, some balance patches, gold cost reductions, crucial bugfixes etc etc.

Its worth to consider that the price of the Ryzen 7700X and Asus ROG Strix B650E-E will go down 700€ to 630€ if I order it till tomorrow due the AM5 Bundle deal that ends April 1st. Im open for changes but for motherboards Id like to keep the 7 segment display as it would make my life a lot easier if any problems arise. Noteworthy would be that I could "borrow" the RTX 3070 my father has in his build for the time beeing and get a GPU later.

How will they fare now that they will be playing a large portion of their games on home territory, as well as travelling to a wider range of away venues? In assessing who might benefit from this change, let's take a look at four pivotal teams. We will start with the two fan favourites - Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians - who finished at the foot of the table last season, and see if the switch in format might assist a revival. This highlights the importance of the New Zealander to CSK's batting on home turf, but also represents a dilemma. The decision to sign Magala suggests that they are aware of the weakness in the death bowling department and saw the need to improve it. But how can they bring the South African into the side when Stokes and Moeen Ali are shoo-ins as allrounders, an overseas spinner will be handy at Chepauk and Conway is needed at the top of the order? This will be the main puzzle for them to figure out. The good news is the return of Deepak Chahar, but overall they look as though they will rely heavily on Stokes' performances to reach the playoffs. Crucial to this may be Stokes' record against spin. In the last 500 deliveries that he has faced against spinners in T20 cricket, he averages 31.13 with a reasonably good SR of 134. This will be a big boost for CSK considering the slow wickets in Chennai. Mumbai Indians Five-time champions MI ended up with the wooden spoon last year, also recording four wins out of 14 matches. Nothing worked in their favour - except the emergence of young Indian batter Tilak Verma. MI's blueprint through their successful years was two overseas frontline seamers, one overseas finisher and one overseas opening batter. They changed this last year and paid a heavy price, searching for the right combination through the tournament without ever finding it. Of the 10 teams in the IPL, Mumbai will experience the least change in conditions this season given that they played four league matches at the Wankhede in 2022. This suggests change in personnel will be as important to a revival for them. They broke the bank for Australian allrounder Cameron Green, and also brought in South African left-arm seamer Duan Jansen and experienced leggie Piyush Chawla, along with some domestic recruits. Jasprit Bumrah's injury will be a massive blow for MI to deal with. And with Jhye Richardon also been ruled out, there's plenty of work to be done to get their core combination right. The good news is that Jofra Archer is back and actively playing, but he is also someone known for his injuries. On top of that, the MI spin department does not look threatening. So if Archer breaks down in the middle of the tournament, they will have to rely on their batting to bail them out on a high scoring Wankhede pitch. Core Playing Combination
In the last five years of the IPL, the 55 matches played at the Wankhede have produced an average score of 171, which is relatively high. Unfortunately they don't have a proven Indian seamer to replace Bumrah, and also lack a wicket-taking spinner in the middle overs. If their seamers don't start well in the powerplay, they will likely end up conceding big scores. Archer also looked short of his dangerous best on his return in the SA20 league, taking 10 wickets with an Economy of 7.73, while Behrendorff's last IPL appearance was in 2019. The left-armer's stats read 165 runs in 19 overs with an ECO of 8.68, and 5 wickets at a SR of 22.8, which doesn't look highly encouraging. Cameron Green, on the other hand, averages 16.33 at a SR of 137.64 with the bat, and an ECO of 9.04 with the ball at a SR of 26.40 in his relatively short T20 career. Ramandeep Singh is new to this league with only a few games under his belt, and Arshad Khan will make his debut for everyone to see if he can live up to the hype created by the media. Switching to the spin department, Kumar Karthikeya played just four games last season taking 5 wickets, and Shokeen played five games for 2 wickets. Another option is Chawla, who went unsold last year and had low returns in IPL 2020, with his 21 overs going for 191 runs at a high ECO of 9.09 and yielding just 6 wickets. He played a solitary game in 2021. The average ECO for spin bowlers at the Wankhede since IPL 2008 is 7.5 - a low figure for a high-scoring venue, showing that spinners play a key role in owning the middle overs. This suggests that Mumbai will have a huge problem. Going through their batting, Rohit Sharma hasn't averaged 30 in the last six seasons; Ishan Kishan had a middling outing last year with 418 runs at an average of 32.15 and a SR of 120; Tim David is highly skilled but remains an unproven commodity in the IPL, and allrounders Ramandeep Singh and Arshad Khan are both inexperienced. Similar to CSK, only one batter, Suryakumar Yadav (Avg: 43.28 and SR: 145.67), managed to average more than 40 last season. Young Tilak Verma showed lot of promise with 397 runs at 36.09 with a SR of 131, but MI genuinely look weak on paper - particularly if their top three fail. With a struggle to find a combination to fill up the holes in both batting and bowling, MI might well have another tough year. Rajasthan Royals The 2008 winner and last year's finalist, Royals certainly look well balanced in all departments - particularly considering their home venue of Jaipur. Prasidh Krishna's absence for the season is a concern for them while Obed McCoy will miss at least the first few games, but they have good reserve options and should be the team to beat in the tournament. They retained most of their core players and added the seasoned allrounder Jason Holder, who will play a major role for them batting at No 7 and bowling four overs. They also brought in the services of Joe Root, but will find it difficult to fit him into the combination, while hard-hitting Donovon Ferreira will be the back-up plan for Shimron Hetymer. Adam Zampa might also struggle to get a game considering the success of the spin pair of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal last year. Wicketkeeper-batter Kunal Rathore, seamer KM Asif, leggie M. Ashwin, allrounder Akash Vashist and seamer Abdul are the local new signings, ensuring that they literally have back up for every position in the core playing XI. Core Playing Combination
The Royals have Trent Boult to counter that problem - in the last three IPL seasons, he has taken 18 wickets in the powerplay and conceded just 7.91 per over. New recruit Holder is also effective in this period - since Jan 2019 he has an ECO of 7.51 in the powerplay with a reasonable SR of 19. This will be a good combination to have along with the pacy and talented Kuldeep Sen. Ashwin and Chahal together in the middle overs will be a challenge to contend for any good batsmen. The Royals' weakness is their death overs bowling, which they will have to plan carefully. Holder since Jan 2019 has a high ECO of 10.57 in the death overs, while Boult has an ECO of 10.94. So they have a really consistent and balanced batting line up to get scores between 180 and 190, which could be defended by a bowling line up with three reliable performers in Boult, Chahal and Ashwin. Royal Challengers Bangalore Having made it to the playoffs in the last three years, RCB have been consistent apart from winning the trophy. Yet it's worth noting that those three seasons have all been played away from their home ground, where the pitch often renders matches into a bat-vs-bat contest. Do they have the resources to maintain their good recent record now that they will be playing at the Chinnaswamy again? They have maintained almost the same core to their team, but with a few interesting additions in the auction. Last year, Faf's SR facing 173 balls was 119, Kohli's SR facing 116 balls was 106 and Patidar's SR facing 92 balls was 121. The stats for the last three IPL seasons in Bangalore (2017-2019) show a high reading of 50/1 in the powerplay. This is where they have to change their approach and be a little more aggressive, setting the tone for the middle and lower order - which contains two inexperienced batters in Lomror and Shahbaz Ahmed - to rack up some huge scores. Even though most of their batters in the middle and lower middle order meet the performance criteria, only Karthik has a big average. Omega and Okada push each other over the limit even harder than before. Omega is taking inhuman punishment yet refuses to give up. Eventually, Cody makes his way down to the ring and attempts to throw in the towel for Kenny, but the Bucks stop him.

Afterward, the Elite debate whether it was a true act of mercy by Cody or a scheme for his personal goals

Throughout the tournament, Bullet Club nears a boiling point. OG member Toma Tonga questions Omega’s leadership due to having his small inner circle of The Elite within the larger group. In the weeks and months to follow, Cody identifies Kota Ibushi as Kenny Omega’s weakest point and starts targeting him as a wedge to divide the Bullet Club and create chaos wherein he can ascend to power.

Looking to use a win over Ibushi as a flashpoint to take control of Bullet Club, Cody viciously mauls Kota in a singles match but can’t secure the victory. Frustrated that his plan failed, the next night at New Year’s Dash he launches a post-match assault on Ibushi. Cody and the rest of Bullet Club are wailing on Ibushi until Kenny rushes out to stop them… but the rest of Bullet Club can’t help feeling Kenny views his old tag partner as more important to him than they are. Cody’s plan bears fruit as Kenny makes a massive unforced error: he invites “Switchblade” Jay White to join Bullet Club and be a shot in the arm for the faction, only for White to betray him immediately and join CHAOS.
January 7, 2018 - Being the Elite #87
Camera follows the Elite as they are tense and nervous preparing for Wrestle Kingdom a few days earlier. It jumps to the group after New Year’s Dash, all gathered at a tense dinner conversation. To break the tension, Matt proposes a new gimmick for the group: “BTE IS DRUG FREE”... aka, Straight Edge… no one shoots it down, but they’re not thrilled either, and Cody hides his beer underneath the table.
The effort to relieve things fails, however, and Cody blurs the line between kayfabe and shoot, shouting for the cameraman to put the camera down. Then we get a fly-on-the-wall glimpse at him charging Kenny with always “turning everything into a bit”, disregarding the group, and heatedly asking him if he’s actually their leader before Kenny finally storms away from the table.
January 28, 2018 - Civil War
Jay White scores a massive upset at New Beginning and takes the IWGP United States Championship from Kenny Omega. After the bell, Hangman confronts Jay White and seeks to challenge for the title, but Kenny stops him. The Bucks and Cody rush to the ring, and Cody accuses their leader of stepping on Hangman’s moment. A violent argument ensues with Kenny shoving Matt Jackson to the ground.
Once the Elite have left the ring and Kenny is alone, Cody seizes the opportunity and hits Kenny with a CrossRhodes, initiating the Bullet Club Civil War. Later, Matt, Nick, and Marty are commiserating in a locker room prior to a Ring of Honor show when Hangman and Cody strut through the door.

February 19, 2018 – Being the Elite #93
Cody maneuvers the Bucks around the Melbourne airport to keep them from running into Kenny. While traveling, Cody further drives the Ibushi wedge between Matt and the absent Kenny and plays up that Kenny only views the Bucks as a junior tag team. Later, Cody takes the brothers out to the zoo and to the movie theater as we see Kenny emotionally watching Casablanca on his phone.
The Bucks catch up with Tonga and the OGs backstage in a locker room where they try to make peace.

February 25, 2018 - Being the Elite #94
Matt Jackson is on a plane traveling between shows, doing the same thing as Kenny from the previous episode: watching Casablanca.
For those who haven't seen it, the story at the heart of the film is a love triangle: cynical club owner Rick, his first love Ilsa, and her rebel husband Laszlo, enhanced by a background of espionage and war with the local police chief, Renault, at the crossroads of the entanglements.
It’s foreshadowing the story to come. In the film, Rick and Ilsa had a passionate love before the events on screen, but they split up and Ilsa then wound up with her now-husband Laszlo, a Czech rebel carrying vital documents for the resistance against Nazi Germany. Rick and Ilsa reunite and rekindle their romance until Rick – knowing she’s better off with her husband – convinces Ilsa to leave with Laszlo before local authorities catch them. Rick stays behind, killing the evil Major Strasser who was attempting to stop the married couple from escaping Casablanca. Renault, who has been playing both sides (Germans and Resistance) up to this point, is touched by Rick's sacrifice. Other policemen arrive and see Strasser's dead body. Rather than identify Rick as the culprit, Renault instructs the cops to "round up the usual suspects"... And of course, that classic line provides the name of the film The Usual Suspects, from which Punk, and MJF, and Don Callis have all quoted the final line:
"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making you believe he doesn't exist."
The Usual Suspects is a tale of a mysterious crime lord who manipulates and controls multiple criminals to achieve his ultimate goal and get away scot-free. It is tightly designed so that if you rewatch it knowing the ending, you realize and notice dozens of things you missed on the first viewing.
As Casablanca ends, Rick says to Renault: "I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship", implying that if they work together, they can get away with almost anything…
This BTE episode ends with the group all in Japan. The Bucks approach Kenny and Ibushi to have a conversation, but Kenny doesn’t have time for them. Later that night at the event, Cody pulls the Bucks into a hallway and implores them to listen to the promo Kenny is cutting in the ring at that exact moment, where he declares the Golden Lovers the greatest tag team in the world. Cody pushes them to go handle it. The Young Bucks go to the ring while Cody flashes a devilish smile.

March 5, 2018 - BTE #95
In Vegas, Matt and Nick are in the dressing room talking when Bury the Drug Free Bear enters and seems desperate to tell them something. Bury is about to remove the head to his costume when Hangman bursts in. He is angry with Matt for not helping him during his confrontation with Joey Ryan the week prior. Cody enters and asks Bury why he hasn't got his Bullet Club shirt on and pulls him away to get changed. Everyone looks confused and Matt wonders what the bear was trying to tell them.
Cody is in the production studio and calls Nick over to suggest that Matt is holding him back and that he should consider wrestling in singles matches, but Nick looks unconvinced. Later that night, Cody is in the ring celebrating with Brandi and Bury after his match. As Cody goes to hug Bury, the bear pushes him to the floor. Standing over a prone, confused Cody, Bury removes his costume head to reveal Kenny Omega ,who knocks out Cody with a knee strike as the fans go wild.
Cody is demented after the match:
Just like he did with Nick previously, Cody sequesters Matt and says his brother has been holding him back and he needs a singles push.
In Japan, Kenny records a message to the Young Bucks apologizing, saying how Cody has gotten into everyone’s heads and divided the group, and hopes to make amends… Unbeknownst to him, Cody has Nick’s laptop so he intercepts the message and edits it down to an insulting challenge. Matt is enraged, but Nick is suspicious.
March 25, 2018 – The Elite Fight It Out
In Los Angeles at NJPW: Strong Style Evolved, the Golden Lovers face the Young Bucks in a deeply personal grudge match. After a brutal, back-and-forth war where the Lovers emerge victorious, Kenny attempts to bury the hatchet. Nick accepts the olive branch, but Matt refuses to shake Kenny’s hand. Cody hits the ring and berates Matt for eating the pin during the match. When Nick intervenes, Cody spins around and shoves him to the ground.
Later in the locker room, Cody comes in to ask what happened out there. The Bucks are challenging him for his actions, but Cody shouts them down, saying he thought it was Kenny in the ring and that he would never do such a thing to them. Cody apologizes profusely and leaves.
Nick:
With the leadership of Bullet Club at stake, Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes square off in a hard-hitting match. Having grown wary of Cody and his schemes, the Bucks come down to the ring and decide to attack Cody. They launch double superkicks… but Cody ducks and the kicks land on Omega, allowing Cody to hit his finisher and claim the win. Matt and Nick attempt to explain, but Kenny refuses to listen.
In the backstage area, Cody is ecstatic at wresting control of Bullet Club away from Kenny. He wants to celebrate, but the Elite leave the dressing room and leave Cody sitting alone in his ring gear, sweaty, bloody, with a black eye and a gym towel draped around his shoulders, looking starkly similar to another guy post-match four years later…
June 4, 2018 – BTE #105
After a busy summer in which Cody and the Bucks have assembled the looming All In event, Matt and Nick try establishing lines of communication with Kenny in Japan. Ibushi implores him to reconcile with his old friends but he’s reluctant. Cody is obsessed with running a Senate election campaign in Texas and practices his speeches in bathroom mirrors, but it almost sounds like he’s talking to his stablemates. Meanwhile, a package that Matt and Nick sent him weeks ago has been collecting dust the whole time. Ahead of his fourth match with Kazuchika Okada, Kenny decides to open the package…
June 9, 2018 – Omega vs Okada IV
Everyone is in Japan for the big Dominion show. Hangman approaches Cody and asks what the plan is for tonight. Cody looks sullen and calls off whatever he had been plotting to ruin Omega’s big night.
Kenny triumphs in possibly the greatest match in wrestling history, claiming the IWGP heavyweight championship. He reunites with the Young Bucks afterward, and it’s revealed that in the package are Golden Elite shirts, honoring the pact they made in Hotel Room 710 at the start of the year.
Cody approaches the locker room with congratulatory gifts for Kenny and to make peace, but he stops short and leaves them outside the door.
July 7, 2018 – Debts Are Settled in San Francisco
At the G1 Special NJPW show, Cody challenges Omega for the IWGP championship. After a war with Kenny emerging in triumph, the Elite gather and celebrate… until the Bullet Club OGs attack them in retribution for the dysfunction and strife they’ve brought to the group over the previous two years. Cody returns to the ring and is given a chance to brutalize Kenny, but instead he defends him and rejoins the Elite in full.

September 1, 2018 - All In
By far the greatest triumph in indie wrestling history, the show was a massive success both at live gate and on PPV, wildly exceeding all expectations. In its main event, Cody wins the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, the same world title his father had claimed 31 years earlier.
After this monumental night, the Elite ceded the war for control of Bullet Club to the OGs and stepped away from the group, turning their attention to the establishment of something new entirely: All Elite Wrestling. This new national promotion came into being on January 1, 2019, and at its forefront was the core group of five. As the inaugural and omnipresent face of the company, Cody’s claim to AEW gold is surely just a matter of time.

September 9, 2022 – The Fallout from Brawl Out
AEW is in crisis. Its champion and biggest star turned the world upside down three days prior. CM Punk is in exile, two titles are vacant, and three of the company’s founders have their futures in jeopardy. The landscape is pure chaos. Amidst that chaos, a villain strolls out to the stage with a big smile on his face.
MJF eats it all up… AEW’s greatest heel may have become its greatest face in one night. The live audience is jubilant to see him and he reciprocates, diving into them just as CM Punk had done, hugging Taz at the broadcast desk, wearing the jersey of that city’s football team.
Joy reverberates in his words once he grabs the microphone:
"BUFFALO, NEW YORK! THE DEVIL IS BACK! Now listen up Buffalo, first things first... Who's excited to see MJF? “Lord knows I am. Guys, I love Buffalo, New York, hell the greatest Quarterback of all time, Josh Allen is from Buffalo. Now, we're gonna get down to brass tacks a little bit here, okay? Last time you guys saw me I might've said some offensive stuff, I'm just being honest…The fans strike up a loud chant: “YOU WERE RIGHT”
Now hear me out, hear me out, hear me out... Hold on g-- Seriously, I only have so much time allotted. Shut up. Please. Jesus. Alright listen... If there's one thing I know to be true, it's that right now you might think that we're in dark times, but we're not. What we need is leadership. And I can not think of one more person, more trustworthy than me! Now let me tell you a story: there was once a wise Jewish man, and his name started with a M. Following their tag win over CHAOS, Kenny Omega betrays and usurps the leader of Bullet Club, AJ Styles, at NJPW: New Year’s Dash.
"AJ Styles! My god, you can't be surprised, can you? You people, you can't be surprised. You at home you better not be surprised. You had this coming, AJ. We gave you the big matches, we gave you the big pay-per-views. We made you a star, we paid you like a star. While I struggled, while I starved, forcing myself to be a junior. Everybody called you a leader, everybody called you the boss. Well AJ, if you are the boss, I'm just gonna say it. You have now been fired.The rest of the Bullet Club is initially in disagreement before coalescing around Kenny and ganging up on Styles. They leave with their former leader in a heap, but Kenny and the Young Bucks gather at ringside. The three of them return to the ring and continue the brutal assault on AJ Styles… They are still in the Bullet Club, but within that organization, henceforth they will be The Elite.
January 4, 2017 - Wrestle Kingdom 11
Having stormed through his first ever attempt in the tournament, Kenny Omega became the only gaijin to have ever won New Japan’s G1 Tournament and earned the right to challenge for the company’s top prize at WK11.
That night in the Tokyo Dome, Omega and Okada created magic in one of the greatest matches in wrestling history. On the same show, Bullet Club’s newest member debuts: Cody Rhodes. Frustrated with his position and his creative direction, Cody had requested and been granted his release from WWE the previous summer, Cody makes his way across the Pacific, sending shockwaves through the international wrestling landscape.
Despite this shot in the arm, Bullet Club is tested by the crushing defeat of its leader. Following his loss to Okada, Kenny steps away from wrestling to assess his future. When he returns after several weeks Cody had grown ambitious and plots in the background.
June 11, 2017 - Dominion
In a rematch of their classic from the start of the year at Wrestle Kingdom 11, Kenny Omega attempts to avenge his defeat and claim the IWGP Heavyweight Championship from Kazuchika Okada. Earlier in the night, Cody had grabbed a headset and proclaimed he wanted to face Okada himself.
Omega and Okada push each other over the limit even harder than before. Omega is taking inhuman punishment yet refuses to give up. Eventually, Cody makes his way down to the ring and attempts to throw in the towel for Kenny, but the Bucks stop him.
The timekeeper’s bell rings, marking it a 60-minute draw.
Afterward, the Elite debate whether it was a true act of mercy by Cody or a scheme for his personal goals
Cody storms Okada’s post-match press conference, where he mocks the champ, spits in his face, and challenges him for a title match.
May 16, 2017 - The Bet
Dave Meltzer quote-tweets a question asking if anyone could sell 10,000 tickets to a non-WWE show in America, to which he replies, “Not anytime soon.”
Cody takes note and responds: “I'll take that bet Dave… put The Bucks & I on the card & 3-months to promote”... Over the next year this grand dream between Cody and the Young Bucks will come to fruition.
July 1, 2017 - Returning the Favor
Cody unsuccessfully challenges Okada for the IWGP championship. Kenny comes to ringside and wants to throw in the towel just as Cody had tried weeks earlier. After the match, the two of them nearly come to blows backstage and Cody flips a table.
August 2017 - G1 Climax
Throughout the tournament, Bullet Club nears a boiling point. OG member Toma Tonga questions Omega’s leadership due to having his small inner circle of The Elite within the larger group. In the weeks and months to follow, Cody identifies Kota Ibushi as Kenny Omega’s weakest point and starts targeting him as a wedge to divide the Bullet Club and create chaos wherein he can ascend to power.
January 4, 2018 - Wrestle Kingdom 12
Looking to use a win over Ibushi as a flashpoint to take control of Bullet Club, Cody viciously mauls Kota in a singles match but can’t secure the victory. Frustrated that his plan failed, the next night at New Year’s Dash he launches a post-match assault on Ibushi. Cody and the rest of Bullet Club are wailing on Ibushi until Kenny rushes out to stop them… but the rest of Bullet Club can’t help feeling Kenny views his old tag partner as more important to him than they are. Cody’s plan bears fruit as Kenny makes a massive unforced error: he invites “Switchblade” Jay White to join Bullet Club and be a shot in the arm for the faction, only for White to betray him immediately and join CHAOS.
January 7, 2018 - Being the Elite #87
Camera follows the Elite as they are tense and nervous preparing for Wrestle Kingdom a few days earlier. It jumps to the group after New Year’s Dash, all gathered at a tense dinner conversation. To break the tension, Matt proposes a new gimmick for the group: “BTE IS DRUG FREE”... aka, Straight Edge… no one shoots it down, but they’re not thrilled either, and Cody hides his beer underneath the table.
The effort to relieve things fails, however, and Cody blurs the line between kayfabe and shoot, shouting for the cameraman to put the camera down. Then we get a fly-on-the-wall glimpse at him charging Kenny with always “turning everything into a bit”, disregarding the group, and heatedly asking him if he’s actually their leader before Kenny finally storms away from the table.
January 28, 2018 - Civil War
Jay White scores a massive upset at New Beginning and takes the IWGP United States Championship from Kenny Omega. After the bell, Hangman confronts Jay White and seeks to challenge for the title, but Kenny stops him. The Bucks and Cody rush to the ring, and Cody accuses their leader of stepping on Hangman’s moment. A violent argument ensues with Kenny shoving Matt Jackson to the ground.
Once the Elite have left the ring and Kenny is alone, Cody seizes the opportunity and hits Kenny with a CrossRhodes, initiating the Bullet Club Civil War. Kenny tries to call Matt, but Cody sees the call coming through on the phone and declines it.
February 19, 2018 – Being the Elite #93
Cody maneuvers the Bucks around the Melbourne airport to keep them from running into Kenny. While traveling, Cody further drives the Ibushi wedge between Matt and the absent Kenny and plays up that Kenny only views the Bucks as a junior tag team. Later, Cody takes the brothers out to the zoo and to the movie theater as we see Kenny emotionally watching Casablanca on his phone.
The Bucks catch up with Tonga and the OGs backstage in a locker room where they try to make peace.
Matt:
“Alright guys, thanks for gathering here. Nick and I feel like there’s one important thing that we need to talk about… I think it’s kind of obvious, right? There’s a divide in the Bullet Club. It’s almost like there’s two entities all of a sudden. It’s like there’s Bullet Club BTE and Bullet Club OGs… Nick and I have been watching what you’ve been doing in Japan… holding down the fort, representing the Bullet Club, making the name proud. But we’ve been back at home in the US doing the same thing. There is no heat here. We love you guys. When we all say that catchphrase, when we say ‘Bullet Club is for life’, we mean it. It’s not just a catchphrase, okay? There’s no heat here. The only heat is between two individuals: Cody and Kenny.”Tonga:
“Cody is right. Bullet Club is fine.”The two groups shake hands, then Cody enters the locker room, surprised to see everyone together:
“Did somebody call a meeting? I didn’t call a meeting…”In strolls Kenny.
Kenny: So there he is. The snake in the grass. Three-star savior. Hey Cody.They start brawling and the others can barely keep them apart.
Cody: Did you see the sign outside? It says 'Bullet Club'.
Kenny: That's right, and I AM THE LEADER.
Cody:
Touch me and I'll sue! Touch me and I'll sue!!Cody throws a chair that barely misses Kenny and the Bucks.
Matt and Nick look at each other, devastated at what’s become of the group.
February 25, 2018 - Being the Elite #94
Matt Jackson is on a plane traveling between shows, doing the same thing as Kenny from the previous episode: watching Casablanca.
For those who haven't seen it, the story at the heart of the film is a love triangle: cynical club owner Rick, his first love Ilsa, and her rebel husband Laszlo, enhanced by a background of espionage and war with the local police chief, Renault, at the crossroads of the entanglements.
It’s foreshadowing the story to come. In the film, Rick and Ilsa had a passionate love before the events on screen, but they split up and Ilsa then wound up with her now-husband Laszlo, a Czech rebel carrying vital documents for the resistance against Nazi Germany. Rick and Ilsa reunite and rekindle their romance until Rick – knowing she’s better off with her husband – convinces Ilsa to leave with Laszlo before local authorities catch them. Rick stays behind, killing the evil Major Strasser who was attempting to stop the married couple from escaping Casablanca. Renault, who has been playing both sides (Germans and Resistance) up to this point, is touched by Rick's sacrifice. Other policemen arrive and see Strasser's dead body. Rather than identify Rick as the culprit, Renault instructs the cops to "round up the usual suspects"... And of course, that classic line provides the name of the film The Usual Suspects, from which Punk, and MJF, and Don Callis have all quoted the final line:
"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making you believe he doesn't exist."
The Usual Suspects is a tale of a mysterious crime lord who manipulates and controls multiple criminals to achieve his ultimate goal and get away scot-free. It is tightly designed so that if you rewatch it knowing the ending, you realize and notice dozens of things you missed on the first viewing.
As Casablanca ends, Rick says to Renault: "I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship", implying that if they work together, they can get away with almost anything…
This BTE episode ends with the group all in Japan. The Bucks approach Kenny and Ibushi to have a conversation, but Kenny doesn’t have time for them. Later that night at the event, Cody pulls the Bucks into a hallway and implores them to listen to the promo Kenny is cutting in the ring at that exact moment, where he declares the Golden Lovers the greatest tag team in the world. Cody pushes them to go handle it. The Young Bucks go to the ring while Cody flashes a devilish smile.
Matt:
From this day forward, my brother and I have decided to move up and compete in the heavyweight tag team division.It puts them directly in opposition with the Lovers. Kenny and Ibushi confront them backstage, but the Bucks don’t take anything from him, saying they’ve always been there to support him but it’s never been returned. All those times they were there to pick Kenny up off the mat, where was Ibushi?
March 5, 2018 - BTE #95
In Vegas, Matt and Nick are in the dressing room talking when Bury the Drug Free Bear enters and seems desperate to tell them something. Bury is about to remove the head to his costume when Hangman bursts in. He is angry with Matt for not helping him during his confrontation with Joey Ryan the week prior. Cody enters and asks Bury why he hasn't got his Bullet Club shirt on and pulls him away to get changed. Everyone looks confused and Matt wonders what the bear was trying to tell them.
Cody is in the production studio and calls Nick over to suggest that Matt is holding him back and that he should consider wrestling in singles matches, but Nick looks unconvinced. Later that night, Cody is in the ring celebrating with Brandi and Bury after his match. As Cody goes to hug Bury, the bear pushes him to the floor. Standing over a prone, confused Cody, Bury removes his costume head to reveal Kenny Omega ,who knocks out Cody with a knee strike as the fans go wild.
Cody is demented after the match:
“What a time. What a time to be involved in this great sport… Everybody’s eyes in this sport are fixed on New Orleans, on Supercard of Honor… my very first encounter with Kenny Omega. So wouldn’t that be enough? As a professional… that feather in your cap, that everybody is talking about your match, that everybody wants to see your match, that you have stolen the [Wrestlemania] weekend from the rich and you have given it to the poor… wouldn’t that be enough?March 20, 2018 – BTE #97
So why the… escalation? Why come to Las Vegas? … You’re supposed to be the best wrestler in the world! A hero! You’ve got a bag full of them [match rating] stars, well I have a book full of dates, full of cities, full of towns, because I’m not a hero once a month! I’m a hero every single night!
Perception is no longer reality. Reality is reality.
And the reality is that I am the leader of the Bullet Club… that I am the hero in this story.”
Just like he did with Nick previously, Cody sequesters Matt and says his brother has been holding him back and he needs a singles push.
In Japan, Kenny records a message to the Young Bucks apologizing, saying how Cody has gotten into everyone’s heads and divided the group, and hopes to make amends… Unbeknownst to him, Cody has Nick’s laptop so he intercepts the message and edits it down to an insulting challenge. Matt is enraged, but Nick is suspicious.
March 25, 2018 – The Elite Fight It Out
In Los Angeles at NJPW: Strong Style Evolved, the Golden Lovers face the Young Bucks in a deeply personal grudge match. After a brutal, back-and-forth war where the Lovers emerge victorious, Kenny attempts to bury the hatchet. Nick accepts the olive branch, but Matt refuses to shake Kenny’s hand. Cody hits the ring and berates Matt for eating the pin during the match. When Nick intervenes, Cody spins around and shoves him to the ground.
Later in the locker room, Cody comes in to ask what happened out there. The Bucks are challenging him for his actions, but Cody shouts them down, saying he thought it was Kenny in the ring and that he would never do such a thing to them. Cody apologizes profusely and leaves.
Nick:
“I don’t think we can trust this guy.”April 7, 2018 – Supercard of Honor XII
With the leadership of Bullet Club at stake, Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes square off in a hard-hitting match. Having grown wary of Cody and his schemes, the Bucks come down to the ring and decide to attack Cody. They launch double superkicks… but Cody ducks and the kicks land on Omega, allowing Cody to hit his finisher and claim the win. Matt and Nick attempt to explain, but Kenny refuses to listen.
In the backstage area, Cody is ecstatic at wresting control of Bullet Club away from Kenny. He wants to celebrate, but the Elite leave the dressing room and leave Cody sitting alone in his ring gear, sweaty, bloody, with a black eye and a gym towel draped around his shoulders, looking starkly similar to another guy post-match four years later…
June 4, 2018 – BTE #105
After a busy summer in which Cody and the Bucks have assembled the looming All In event, Matt and Nick try establishing lines of communication with Kenny in Japan. Ibushi implores him to reconcile with his old friends but he’s reluctant. Cody is obsessed with running a Senate election campaign in Texas and practices his speeches in bathroom mirrors, but it almost sounds like he’s talking to his stablemates. Meanwhile, a package that Matt and Nick sent him weeks ago has been collecting dust the whole time. Ahead of his fourth match with Kazuchika Okada, Kenny decides to open the package…
June 9, 2018 – Omega vs Okada IV
Everyone is in Japan for the big Dominion show. Hangman approaches Cody and asks what the plan is for tonight. Cody looks sullen and calls off whatever he had been plotting to ruin Omega’s big night.
Kenny triumphs in possibly the greatest match in wrestling history, claiming the IWGP heavyweight championship. He reunites with the Young Bucks afterward, and it’s revealed that in the package are Golden Elite shirts, honoring the pact they made in Hotel Room 710 at the start of the year.
Cody approaches the locker room with congratulatory gifts for Kenny and to make peace, but he stops short and leaves them outside the door.
July 7, 2018 – Debts Are Settled in San Francisco
At the G1 Special NJPW show, Cody challenges Omega for the IWGP championship. After a war with Kenny emerging in triumph, the Elite gather and celebrate… until the Bullet Club OGs attack them in retribution for the dysfunction and strife they’ve brought to the group over the previous two years. Cody returns to the ring and is given a chance to brutalize Kenny, but instead he defends him and rejoins the Elite in full.
Over the coming months, Cody, Kenny, Matt, Nick and Hangman solidify themselves as a core group leading up to:
September 1, 2018 - All In
By far the greatest triumph in indie wrestling history, the show was a massive success both at live gate and on PPV, wildly exceeding all expectations. In its main event, Cody wins the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, the same world title his father had claimed 31 years earlier.
After this monumental night, the Elite ceded the war for control of Bullet Club to the OGs and stepped away from the group, turning their attention to the establishment of something new entirely: All Elite Wrestling. This new national promotion came into being on January 1, 2019, and at its forefront was the core group of five. As the inaugural and omnipresent face of the company, Cody’s claim to AEW gold is surely just a matter of time.

Allied with his friend, protege, and personal recruit to AEW, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, the public face of AEW prepares to challenge for the world championship of the company he helped build. He seems destined for it, it’s damn near his birthright, and yet there are whispers he’s only in position to claim it through politics.
Cody:
“Eddie Graham... Cowboy Bill Watts... The American Dream Dusty Rhodes... For the cold and sterile historians of our business, there's an air of controversy that surrounds them, it's from the simple fact that those men were also, in addition to being competitors... they were management. Not unlike myself. And for the last year I've told everybody: every podcast, every radio, every correspondent. I've shouted it off the rooftops how proud I am of AEW, how proud I am of the all-inclusive nature, of the schedule, of the pay, of the fact that we will listen. This! This is Ellis Island for a professional wrestler! This is freedom! So, when I hear the same criticism attached to my name for being management and being in a title match… I can't not hear it... And with that said, I am announcing that if I do not defeat Chris Jericho at Full Gear... I will never challenge for the AEW World championship again.”And so Cody faced Chris Jericho at Full Gear 2019 with destiny in his grasp. There, with MJF in his corner, Cody and Jericho pushed each other to their limits. Late in the match with the challenger locked tight in the Walls of Jericho, MJF throws in the towel for Cody and costs him the match, effectively locking him out of the title picture thereafter.
MJF’s ascension begins. He wins the Dynamite Diamond Ring and begins climbing the rankings. Winning isn’t simply enough, though. If he wants everything, he needs chaos. He needs to flip the world upside down. He needs the world to believe its heroes are the villains and its villains are the heroes.

Jake Roberts emerges from the thickest of weeds and slithers down to the ring. He nearly devours Cody. He mocks him… “Hail Caesar”. He neither fears nor respects him.
“What a Snake wants, a snake takes. I’m not in AEW for the whole pie.. Just your slice”Two weeks later the world screeches to a halt as an unknown, lethal virus spreads rapidly around the globe. For several weeks Dynamite is patchwork, assembled from whatever talent is available. A tournament for a new title belt is announced. Ahead of its opening round we get the darkest promo we’ve thus far seen from the purest babyface in the company’s short history…

Cody sits ominously at a table, in a pitch black room, and lights a cigar… just as he’d done before when laying out his machinations against Kenny Omega for control of Bullet Club.
Cody:
"Why do I wanna be TNT Champion? Wrestling is so linear you're gonna hear the same answer to that question over and over again. You'll even hear the announcers strike some of the same hyperboles as they describe the stakes. The wrestlers will give you that real wrestling school, paint by numbers interview where they say things like --- you see: ‘The boys in the back.' Or my favorite: They perpetually say their own name or the person they're wrestling against or the person who's interviewing them over and over again. Like I said, wrestling is linear. They might even do the – [Cody gestures around his waist where a belt would be worn] - that thing. You see, where you pantomime, where you indicate that you want the belt. I've done it a thousand times. We've all done it, we're all guilty. Wrestling is linear. But these are not linear times, are they? I think we'd all give our last dollar for a little bit of normalcy, a little bit of linear. It's my personal hope that we get through this just fine. We wanna live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery, right?It was an outright heel promo, preceding his entry into the tournament which he ultimately won, facing Jake Roberts’ client – Lance Archer – in the finals. Cody is the conquering hero he always aspires to be, and he rattles off five straight title defenses in five weeks. Someone’s not very impressed, however.
So why do I need to become champion? It is not the fame. It's certainly not the added money. It's not the specialized lower third that they put on the screen. It's not even my specific, unique circumstance of trying to carry a last name that is worth 58 years in gold. It's much simpler. It's because I don't wanna lose. AEW has four major pay per views: Double Or Nothing, All Out, Full Gear, Revolution and I'm 50/50 and I have felt lost and I don't ever want to lose again…The motto, the expression, what the Nightmare Family means, it's sitting at the side of my neck is when we say: DO THE WORK! It's not: Do the work and lose.
And this tournament is flush, it's rich in talent. Take Colt Cabana. Probably the second most experienced guy in the tournament. Does a better flip, flop and fly than me, Dustin and Bully combined. Ask anybody in any locker room the world over – they'll tell you they love Colt Cabana. Well frankly: I do not trust a wrestler that doesn't have any enemies.
Kip Sabian… and that hellfire fiance of his… What happens when those two cohabitate? They’re either gonna motivate themselves upwards or they're gonna drag themselves down to Complacency City, right next to Jobber Avenue.
Darby… I feel like I handpicked Darby. He's clearly the fastest rising star in all of wrestling in any company, hands down. He's putting on weight by the day, he's assassin quick. But Darby is a freshman on the varsity squad. I don't think he has the mental aptitude to finish this tournament.
My oldest friend… Shawn Spears. My former tag team partner, kind of my Dick Murdoch. Could be a world champion pretty much anywhere he wanted to be. But Shawn Spears is King Boo-Boo Face and he will mentally defeat himself before we ever even lock up…
Every one of those guys, they want to be TNT Champion. The difference with me: I NEED IT!

Onto the stage charges Eddie Kingston, who’s heard enough:
"No, no, no, we're gonna get this right, we're gonna do this real quick. Cody, you talk about grinding, you talk about living this rough life, all that jazz. No one's gonna 'out-grind' you, all that stuff. My man, it's easy to say that when you grew up around used-to-be legends like Arn Anderson. Yeah, you heard me. Keep shooting murder-ones at me and I'll knock your jaw right off your face, partner. You know what I grew up around? You know what I grew up around? Alcoholics! Junkies! I GREW UP AROUND THAT... AND I HAD TO SURVIVE. I HAD TO GRIND. You couldn't last a day in my shoes, so you don't tell me nothing about grinding. You talk about the sport of pro-wrestling... that's a joke. Because every person you faced has been a child. I am a grown-ass man and I will put you in the ground and smile.Infuriated that he would be upstaged like this, Cody accepts on the spot. He survives an incredibly violent match and continues on with his title reign.
But here's the best part about this whole thing: the guy that you like to mention because you like to be best friends with the boss, Tony Khan… He paid me to show up. And now he's going to pay me to kick your ass and take that championship. Oh yeah, you wanna go? Arn, I swear on my beautiful mother's life, if you don't shut up, I'm gouging your eye out. All right? Let me speak! It's my time now. Real easy, relax, you've had yours. Tony Khan said to me, ‘You know what, King? If you want No DQ, man, that's fine by me.. just.. you know.. Cody has to accept.' You have to accept, cause either you're an egg-sucking dog or you're an egg-sucking bitch."

Mr. Brodie Lee whips Cody’s ass. In just over three minutes, it’s done and his beloved championship is gone. The Exalted One and The Dark Order put a massive beatdown on Cody and he’s carried out on a stretcher… Then they continue attacking him on the stretcher.

Brodie spends over a month terrorizing anyone even remotely close to Cody, but he still doesn’t come back until after Brodie beats down Orange Cassidy in a title defense. It’s a surprise attack, which incenses The Exalted One.
Brodie:
"You gotta be kidding me! The audacity of a man, the audacity of you Cody to return like that! You have been gone for five weeks while I’ve been here doing the work, being undeniable! Oh my God, the audacity of you Cody. What kind of man sends another man to do his work? Did you see what I did to Dustin? Did you see what Anna Jay did to Brandi? What kind of man Cody, what kind of man lets his wife post Instagram thirst traps while calling me daddy? What kind of man stays away in a little bubble? A man like you, Cody. But YOU are no man! YOU are a coward!Mr. Brodie Lee grabs a pair of dog collars and looks into the camera.
Cody, you can run on for a long time, but sooner or later Brodie Lee is gonna cut you down! And I am gonna take this dog collar, Cody, I am gonna wrap it around your neck, I am gonna wrap it around that God-forsaken tattoo! And you, Cody, will have nowhere, nowhere to run and nowhere to hide! You, Cody... You have one week to answer me: Are you a man... Or are you a coward?!"Two weeks later, Cody reclaims his championship in the first dog collar match in AEW history. He would hold it for only a month until one of the Four Pillars pries it away from him, beginning Darby Allin’s ascension to the main event scene... And sending Cody spiraling into the Codyverse of excess and absurdity.

Despite a litany of viral media and news segments addressing how excessive and even dangerous pregnancy gender reveals are… Cody and Brandi have theirs live on Dynamite, with full entrance and theme, as well as what still to this day is among the largest pyro displays in the history of AEW. Just before the one year anniversary of the George Floyd murder that rattled America and stirred racial dialogue in a manner unseen for decades…

Hi everyone, just wanted to pass by to share my website (https://www.305happyhours.com/ ); I recently created haappy305 so anyeone can filter over 200 Happy Hours in all of Miami and Fort Lauderdale using day, time, and area (FTL, Brickell, Doral, Downtown, South Miami, Kendall, South Beach, Mid Beach, Midtown, etc -- you get the idea).

Thematically speaking, I'm mixed on calling back Chapter 10 of FE4 for Sigurd. On one hand, this is the map where Seliph, Sigurd's son, finally makes his journey back to Chalphy(his home region) to reclaim his father's Divine Sword Tryfing and defeat Arvis the man responsible for the Belhalla tragedy that occurred after Chapter 5 which ultimately claimed Sigurd's life. On the other hand, Sigurd is dead during this part of the game, so it feels a bit odd to feature a map in which he's not the main character.
A callback to FE4 would be inherently interesting due to the huge maps being a part of the identity of the game. As I understand it, the huge maps are usually used to represent months/years of warfare that the player moves through to experience the game's overall story. Engage's developers probably recognized that putting a full FE4 map in Engage would be woefully impossible from both a technical and storytelling perspective, so they opted to only include the upper left quarter of Chapter 10 as that is the final sprint from Miletos to Chalphy. The Miletos section features a sprawling forest with Archers, Warriors, Heroes and Dark Bishops wielding Sleep Staves as the enemies pull out all the stops to attempt to stop Seliph from reaching Chalphy. Ishtar and Julius make appearances as moving bosses in this section of the map and can be tricky for inexperienced players to deal with. Both will leave if one or the other is defeated, or they kill a player unit. However, Julius is not really intended to be defeated due to a mix of his insane stats, increased movement due to the Leg Ring, and the damage halving effect of his Loptous tome while Ishtar can be risky to attack due to the high crit nature of her Mjolnir Tome. If sacrificing a unit to satiate Julius's bloodlust isn't on your to-do list, then Ishtar is the easier of the two to defeat, particularly since she will drop a Renewal Band on defeat. On seizing Miletos, the bridge to Chalphy will lower and Palmark will make his appearance in the upper right section of Chalphy, attempting to reunite Seliph with Tyrfing which Seliph will use to defeat Arvis once and for all.
For what it's worth, Engage's reimagining of this section of the map is pretty faithful with some minor tweaks. The Sages and High Priests wield Freeze staves which are Engage's closest equivalent to a Sleep staff. Ishtar and Julius make an appearance as a pair of powerful Sages located in the lower left corner of the map. The Ishtar Sage is powerful, but manageable, and wields a Thoron tome doing it's best Mjolnir impression. The Julius Sage on the other hand is level capped and has mostly capped stats to represent the original Julius's raw power complemented by the Bolganone tome he wields. Although the pair is not aggressive, they will not leave if one or the other is defeated meaning that you must defeat both at the same time if you choose to engage them. However, they also are technically ignorable since they're a bit out of the way, making them an optional challenge for players who either want to make some extra gold or simply want to test their skills.
The Miletos section of the map is where I find most of the challenge to be, since the forest is generally designed to favor the enemies which can make it difficult to approach, especially with the awkward player starting positions. There's even a High Priest towards the bottom of the map with a Fracture staff, making enemy phasing that much more difficult. This is the first map where I really took advantage of an Emblem Paralogue reward, that being Ike's Ragnell. Although Ragnell isn't strong enough to ORKO the Snipers and Heroes, it's +5 Def boost makes you much more resilient to them while being strong enough for a fast unit to ORKO the Sages. In my experience, if a Sage is able to attack your unit, it will prefer to do that rather than use it's Freeze staff making aggressive play generally preferred if you don't want to be spending turns using a Restore staff to let your units move again. The fort boss wields a Meteor and Bolganone Tome, giving him a wide pressure area so you must be careful when approaching closer. However you can easily take advantage of the fact that he has a Meteor tome, by baiting him to attack with it on one turn and then rushing in with melee weapons on a future turn now that he can't counter you. For their part, "Ishtar" and "Julius" are definitely challenging but not undefeatable. The duo has a total of 7 lives between them("Julius" having 3 revival Gems, while "Ishtar" has 2) so I'd recommend clearing out all the non-boss enemies first before fighting them. Baiting them closer can be scary given their overlapping ranges, but Chain Guards and Lucina's Bonded Shield will keep you safe. If you stand at the edge of their ranges, they'll always move in such a way where they end up adjacent to each other, making them an easy target for Corrin's Torrential Roar. "Julius" is extremely powerful, but won't be able to OHKO most units after being debuffed by Corrin and unlike the original, has no damage halving effects on him. At that point, it's just a matter of managing your action economy to safely take them down. The bridge won't lower until you actually defeat the fort boss, so you can take as much time as you need to set up properly.
After defeating the fort boss, you are given one turn before the bridge lowers and you gain access to Sigurd. Once the bridge is lowered, an enormous army of reinforcements will spawn reminiscent to the events of the original map. With Sigurd becoming aggressive and a horde of Meteor holding Sages following behind him, the second section of the map looks to be a grueling encounter. There's just one issue, which ends up being the major flaw of the map. Sigurd's 14 movement vastly outpaces that of his reinforcements and Sigurd really likes using Overdrive. In my experience if you line up 3 units in a row, he will always use Overdrive. If you're able to do that, you can position your units in such a way that easily blocks Sigurds attempts to Canter away afterwards, leaving him alone in enemy territory with his reinforcements at least a turn or two distance away. Much like using Sigurd as an Emblem Ring he is fantastic on offense, but weak on defense. Sigurd has no 2 range weapons and his only reprieve against magic is the +5 res boost he gets from Tyrfing. Sigurd's decent stats would've let him survive against a horde of enemies in FE4, but not an army supercharged by his fellow Emblems. Using this relatively easy to execute strategy, Sigurd debatably becomes the easiest Emblem boss to actually defeat. You're given complete control on when you want to fight him, he's got no answer to ranged weaponry, and there are plenty of Emblem Energy spaces around the map to recharge yourself even if you used a ton of them fighting "Ishtar" and "Julius". On one hand, rushing into a fight with little regard for his well-being is oddly in character for Sigurd. On the other hand, that doesn't make for a particularly interesting boss battle and makes the entire second section of the map practically irrelevant. What makes this even worse is that there aren't even enemies in "Chalphy" that drop gold rewards so the only reason to even set foot there is to get the secret Goddess Icon, located in the same location where Palmark waits for Seliph's rescue. Even then.......it's a Goddess Icon, the weakest stat booster. Even further than that, if you absolutely want the hidden Goddess Icon you can just send a flier over the water to grab it. It should also be noted that there is no hint or indicator that the Goddess Icon is even there, making it easily missable unless you're the kind of person who found all of FE4's Secret events without a guide like a madman.
One of the things I haven't really talked about, since it hasn't really come up until now, is how an Emblem paralogue is designed knowing that you don't have access to a particular Emblem. In Lyn's paralogue, you really wish you could have access to Astra Storm for long range snipes to help deal with the large size of the map. In Ike's paralogue, you really wish you could have access to his damage reduction abilities and Great Aether due to the narrow nature of the map. However, I don't really feel like Sigurd's abilities would've greatly benefitted me in this paralogue. Don't get me wrong Sigurd is always impactful, but I don't feel like he would've made my life that much easier if he were around. The first half of the map is genuinely interesting to try and find a way through with "Ishtar" and "Julius" providing a cool optional challenge. However, the second half of the map can pretty much be entirely ignored for minimal loss.
The toughest part is that I'm not entirely sure what you could reasonably change to fix this glaring issue. Not making Sigurd move is one option, to mimic the stationary castle bosses in FE4, but feels hilariously thematically wrong because the entire point of his Emblem Ring is to boost and benefit from movement which would render half his abilities useless. Making Sigurd lower the bridge himself after some time could make things more interesting, but breaks the storytelling that the original map was going for. You could try and pick a different map, perhaps from Gen 1 instead, but it's tough to capture the overall feel of a FE4 map with only a single section of it. It's admittedly been quite a long while since I last played FE4 though, so if any fans have alternate ideas for a map, I'd love to hear them. The best compromise I can think of is that Sigurd stays stationary for a few turns after the bridge is lowered giving some time for his reinforcement squad to advance on you, only to then eventually burst his way forward to join the fray.
Overall, I'm just kinda mid with Sigurd's paralogue. It's not my least favorite paralogue by a long shot, but I just don't like how it starts strong and can end rather weak. It's a well done callback given the limitations presented by FE4's huge maps, I just wish the "Chalphy" portion of the map was more relevant considering that that is where Seliph's "revenge" arc comes to a nice conclusion.

Hey all! I'm traveling to Japan from the end of April through mid-May this year. Since it's my third time visiting Japan, I wanted to explore either Kyushu or Hokkaido, and in this post I wanted to get feedback on my proposed Hokkaido itinerary.
For some context on what me and my partner are interested in - we both enjoy trying local cuisine, shopping (small boutiques, crafts, etc.), and enjoying nature/hiking. My partner doesn't quite like hiking as much as I do, so I'm hoping to strike a good balance with this part of the trip! (e.g. maybe 2 or 3 hikes).

- One aspect of traveling to Hokkaido during this period that I'm really excited about are the cherry blossoms around Hakodate! On the flip side, I've heard that other areas of Hokkaido like Furano aren't as ideal to visit this time of year. From what I've found online, Furano still looks like a cute town to visit, and potentially a good base to do day trips, but would you recommend otherwise?
- In this itinerary we're spending a couple of days going between Furano -> Tomamu -> Kushiro, but it's mainly so that we can wake up early to visit Unkai Terrace. Is it worth the effort, or are there other things you would recommend seeing in this area?

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.Just gaming. For Example, if you say saving 400€ more to be able to use Raytracing properly and experience a proper performance boost, I'll be happy to listen.
Games I want to play: Howgarts Legecy, Diablo 4, Nier Automata (modded 4k textures) and RPGs in general.
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?Maximum should be 1.800€ - but as mentioned before, willing to save 2-3 months if it's really worth it... and with that the maximum would be 2.200.

There are about 200 cities in DFW. I am permitted and primarily operate in Dallas. However, I get a lot of requests for events in Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, etc. To sell at a special event or temporary event, each of these cities require their own permit and the fees range from $50-$100. I am pricing the cost of the fee in all of my bids but I get a lot of pushback from the organizers, especially apartment complexes and charity events.
One event next weekend requires a day-of inspection but most don't require an inspection since I am already permitted in Dallas. I want to do as many events as possible but countless fees, permits, and inspections can make it difficult. Any feedback is appreciated.
