2023.03.21 13:19 LeWOOHP [Escapefromtarkov] Carte préliminaire de blocage 3D des rues de Tarkov
Bonjour !

2023.03.21 03:19 Wingklip Punkbuster can supplement Battleye non-intrusively - How?
Should we have a backup AC to Battleye?
Some background: Punkbuster was developed and released in the early 2000's to combat the then prevalent instances of community cheaters in Valve's Half Life Multiplayer and likewise.
Before the prevalence of Punkbuster, there was only either no AC, or the horrid implementation of VAC.
Punkbuster (client): scans the memory of the PC it's running on without the need for Kernel level access, and without very intrusive measures -- very acceptable by community demands of not having a possible 0 day route for viruses and exploits.
- As an old boy who lived through the golden age of FPS games back in the 2009-2016 era, where Battlefield used Punkbuster as a standard AC across all their games from BF2 to BF4, there were 0, literally 0 cheaters across thousands of hours that I had personally experienced. Any instances of aimbotters or wallers were immediately removed by either the server admins, or the AC itself -- tied to the CD key. Once again, I have personally experienced not a single cheater playing in
- BF2 - 2 years
- BFBC2 - 4 years
- BF3 - 3 years
- BF4 - 2 year -- Note that the implementation is possibly limited by Fairfight's side by side inclusion
- And across thousands of hours. (Note that this is when the game had active PB support)
- Did Call of Duty 1,2, and 4 (2007) ever have a cheating problem when gamespy was around?
- Did Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad ever have a cheating problem for when it was supported?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PunkBuster https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valve_Anti-Cheat
So how about the shiny new anticheats that have been released or come to light quite recently? EAC (kernel): Started out as an anticheat for MMO's and Combat Arms
đ (weaksauce).
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Easy_Anti-Cheat It's first stress tests were in War Thunder, Squad, and Robocraft, all of which I was an Avid enjoyer of -- at the time. War thunder never really had a cheater problem in flying, but had a lot of closet wallers on the ground battles -- and still does.
- Squad had a few cheaters here and there, but no one had hacked before or after the anticheat to any degree.
- Robocraft: The real stress test was in Robocraft, which was FILLED with aimbotters as soon as they made infinite range hitscan available. They added EAC not a month after that, and EAC did NOTHING. NOTHING AT ALL. Aimbotters and wallers ran rampant throughout the entire miserable 3 year rise and fall of Robocraft.
- Rust? Rust is filled with wallers and espers everywhere. On official servers without admins, they are rarely if ever banned -- even when aimbotting cross map. With admins, community servers do 90% of the work, banning cheaters to trip EAC and game devs in an interlinked network. Community servers can ban about 30 minutes - 1 day after a report, so long as admins are active. This is a good system that works because of human intervention. It results in game bans.
- Fortnite: Anyone seen the MLRS Rocket boat cheat? Absolutely wild. Not as much of a cheating problem since it's Epic Games' golden child, so they make sure to absolutely flawlessly integrate EAC (which they own) with it. There's likely a good couple of speedbuild macros that cheat makers have used back in the day, but with the speed that kids move their mouse and click these days, probably redundant. Personally I have seen some funny ones like the rocket boat cheat in person.
- BF2042: Cheater problem, apparently quite common and rampant especially in the Tarkov clone.
Battleye (kernel): Also started out as an MMORPG AC
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BattlEye Ask yourself this:
- Was Dayz mod Filled with cheaters from day 0?
- Was PUBG filled with ESPers and aimbotters since release and fighting a non stop battle with the chinese players spilling over to OCE and NA with VPNs and cheats?
- Was Rainbow 6 Siege notorious for the high level cheating problems it had for a strong few years now?
- Was The Division 1 and 2 filled with hundreds of aimbotters, god cheaters, and wallers in the Dark Zone PVP area since forever?
- Was Unturned filled with cheaters of every shape and form?
- Was Tarkov filled with closets despite thousands and thousands of bans currently going on daily? We've seen everything from flyhacks to speedhacks to noclip hacks and even secure container theft. Opening doors that are not unlockable, Lootaura, Aimbot, Wallhacks, are just another monday to people who have played since 2018/19
Fairfight (client): https://www.i3d.net/downloads/fairfight-product-sheet/#:~:text=FairFight%C2%AE%20is%20the%20leading,a%20Fair%20Fight%20for%20everyone.
Just try playing any Battlefield game from
BF1 to BF5 and
then question your will to live. This was EA's first attempt at cheaping out on Anticheat by switching to a newer, cheaper, and useless anticheat from Punkbuster. Honorable mention:
The WarZ (didn't play this) also uses this useless anticheat.
Vanguard (kernel Ring 0 at boot):
Valorant aka Discount CS:GO's in house anticheat.
- Works OK
- You signed your computer away to ring 0 access to the Chinese surveillance arm (legally required by Chinese Law) and possibly whatever botnet or Zero day exploits they intend to allow
- You trusted a Chinese owned company (100% tencent stake of Riot games) to develop an AC which they pinky promise will not mess with your PC
- Causes BSOD's on socket 775 systems with certain chipsets. Fails to launch if windows files have slight corruption/misconfiguration
- Causes BSOD's every few patches depending on your USB controller, peripherals, and configuration
- Doesn't start half the time in services, Bugs on on updating 0.1kb/s, Reboot required loop
- Requires Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 if you run Windows 11 -- which not everyone has when they circumvent Windows 11 soft requirements.
- Still gets cheaters every now and then (I see one maybe 1 in 50 matches that are blatantly walling)
- My own account was hacked once by an insecure password, cheater played for 2 days before being banned for blatant softaimbot/wallhacks.
VAC (client): Infamously useless
- I play CS:GO daily: and have to contend with my own sanity with the amount of cheaters being in each lobby frequently exceeding 2 at every rank above Legendary Eagle. Nearly every single cheater is guaranteed to have closet wallhacks. Every second guy has BHOP scripts. Every third guy has triggerbot. Every fourth cheater has softaimlock. Every tenth has blatant aimbot. If you live in OCE, you cannot escape cheaters. I have perfect trust factor according to Faceit Finder with 3.2 thousand hours.
- TF2: has an ongoing ESP, triggerbot, and softaim problem https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebkRZu7g2tI
- CS 1.6-Source: Only decent because moderators on community servers did most of the work -- like the Rust example.
Faceit (Kernel): - CSGO: Wallers aren't detected a lot of the time. Markedly better than VAC, but still rife with closet wall hackers. They're never banned and most of the time end up playing MM with faceit ranks of 1-8. Personally I have played against a good number in my own 5 stacks, one was blatantly obvious but never banned (match here) https://www.faceit.com/en/csgo/room/1-e738604d-fa00-4388-a8ae-f4dc7afcadc1/scoreboard
Concluding: I'll leave you to judge the track records of the anti cheats that I have listed here. I'm sure there are some games that you personally have played like I have in this list. As far as the claims go, the history of the anticheats do not lie.
I personally have played the games listed, ALL of them
(save Call of Duty 2 and 4),
and this is my personal experience. I havent' played H1Z1 or WarZ but I didn't hear good things from it when they made the rounds about cheaters and negative reviews.
TLDR: Every modern anticheat is trumped by the track record of PB's non invasive anticheat, with a stellar track record from
Battlefield 2 to Battlefield 4, even
Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2007,
the OG, not rehash***)***.
PB was developed for a game that was the basis of CS:1.6 -- Half Life 1 on GldSource, sadly rejected by Valve in their efforts to create
VAC; a collosal failure by any metric of an average CS:GO MM match.
https://www.shacknews.com/article/16158/punkbuster-retires-from-hl
It could be a strong candidate to supplement Battleye, which even with kernel is not potent enough without human moderators running every few raids. In all respects, Punkbuster has a far more proven track record than Battleye even in servers with 64+ players. Implemented in Tarkov, it could be a fire and forget measure that will improve the game over time with minimal raid to raid moderation to create an effective and thick firewall against cheats in conjunction with battleye, or even as a standalone. If there's something to be done, this is a start.

2023.03.19 16:58 VortexManipulater Looking to build a PC for ÂŁ1500 for gaming
Build Help/Ready:
Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do) yes
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better. I want a pc that can handle playing games like Tarkov and Cyberpunk, as well as be ready for games that haven't been released yet.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings) ideally 144fps on high settings
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)? ÂŁ1500 for the pc
In what country are you purchasing your parts? UK
Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).

Build Help/Ready:
Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do) Yes
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better. Playing games like Tarkov, For Honor, Stellaris. Not looking to replace anything for years to come.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings) 1080p, 165fps, high to ultra settings. As the parts become obsolete I will reduce the settings as need be to achieve high frame rates.
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)? ~$3500
In what country are you purchasing your parts? USA
Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).
PCPartPicker Part List Provide any additional details you wish below. I basically took the "glorious" default build on pcpartpicker and changed fans and all to what I thought to be the nearest non-rgb equivalent, since I don't need that. Just want to make sure I didn't ruin it somehow.

2023.03.14 06:07 Geley Mid-Spec Gaming - Is this GPU Strong Enough?
Build Help/Ready:
Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do) Yes
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better. Gaming, specifically for Tarkov, although I want it to be reasonably future-proof as well. I am interested in Escape from Tarkov, so my build is focused on getting good performance in that without blowing my budget.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings) 1080p, 60-75fps, flexible with game settings as long as it doesn't look like a potato
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)? $800 USD
In what country are you purchasing your parts? USA
Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).
PCPartPicker Part List Provide any additional details you wish below. I heard Tarkov is particularly hard on CPUs, but I am concerned the RX 6600 GPU I have selected may not be strong enough.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

2023.03.11 06:23 Own_Alternative_4297 My why's about the informative part of Tarkov
Why won't they just add ammo stats pen, dmg, etc. In game when you inspect ammo? we basically always have to go to tarkov wiki for info like that.
Why, when I sort Quest by location only, some of them are at the top, bottom, and middle of the list instead of being grouped up nicely.
Why quests that are done in couple locations are categorized as any locations instead (woods, customs) that would be much more informative in judging which map to pick if focused on quests.
Oh hell, why not just add to quest info basically as precise as on wiki ex. show a part of the map with location
Or just add a wiki link under quests.
Those are just a couple of my why's. Feel free to let me know what you think. Maybe you got some more why's you'd like to add. Either way, good luck. Have fun.

2023.03.06 21:48 hazeion Tales from a Timmy: My first wipe experience, the highs, the lows, and the ugly.
TL:DR: Tarkov hard for newbie, but fun and rewarding. Content creators for this game are some of the best in the gaming industry. Game seems a LITTLE overly-punishing for the newcomer. Too much ammo. Happy it doesn't have SBMM.
After a late night session, I shut down Tarkov after hitting level 20 and I feel pretty good. Just pretty good. I can't say I feel great... There is always that feeling that I wish I was better at the game. I've always had that "need to get better" mentality in most everything I decide to put effort into.I look at my 40% survival rate and my 2.5 K/D and sort of shrug it off like, "ehh its my first wipe.. i'll get better with time". Got to reflect a little on the session.
"I'm happy to have Mechanic LL2 finally"
"I need to move faster through the zones for my questing" and
"How did that guy know the throw that nade on TOP of the roof when I was just up there AFK while I ate my dinner"
I turned off the computer and went to bed, got work in the morning ya know? But took sometime to reflect on my experience.
I started playing Tarkov because a couple of friends had suggested I try it out. They've been playing for 4-5 wipes and they promised to show me the ropes. We are a couple of 40 year old FPS eSport veterans who have a "real life" now, so I MIGHT get 1-3 hours of gaming a day. Gone are the days of traveling to lan centers for CPL qualifiers, getting scrims in CS on IRC channels, and shouting over the mic to my teammates about random stuff.
I don't need to be the best anymore, but I do miss that feeling that gaming used to give me. The high stakes, heart-pounding moments. Nothing has quite given that to me since I quit the competitive scene 15 years ago.
Not until Tarkov.
My friends helped me learn the ropes a little. Really, it was more me just following them around while they stormed into Dorms for fights, chased grenade explosions, Hauling ass in resort in Shoreline. I felt overwhelmed. And I felt like a burden. It was like trying to drink water from a fire hose.
There was so much going on sometimes that would freeze up. trying to think what the next move is. scared to shoot them. nervous to peek. Hell I don't even know the callouts. I died.. SOO MUCH..
But it was fun. They had given me a couple of really good tips early on.
This is what they told me:
1.) You are going to die... A lot. And a lot of times you won't even know why. Just embrace it, and reflect on what you could have done better.
2.) Go into each raid with a purpose. Are you questing? focus on finishing that quest and just get out. You need to kill people? Go in with a game plan. Even if it sucks. Have a plan.
3.) Move with intention. And trust in your skill even if you don't have any. Rotating for Right-hand peeks is important. So try to keep that in mind when you move and rotate in fights.
This helped me getting over gear fear early on. It was drilled into me to just die. Go in with a purpose, act on it and hope for the best. Having to act under pressure will make you better at the game. As those things have to actively think about, become second nature if you are challenged to have to use those things all the time.
Need get better at healing under pressure? You need to get into fights more. Need to practice your rotations? You need to get into fights more. Need to practice peaking effectively? Guess what? See my point.
The highs in Tarkov are some of the best in gaming right now. The difficulty and the loss is very real so that when you do come on top by having a monster raid, it feels great. GIVE ME MORE OF THAT DOPAMINE HIT.
Off-line raids have been helpful in learning the map.
After some raids with them, they sort of stopped playing after they got max traders.. But I continued to trudge along solo. Man this was brutal. Almost to the point of me wanting to quit. Dying raid after raid trying to get a quest done. Running out of money, scaving to scrape up some rubles to buy a mediocre loadout. The Tarkov game loop I suppose.
A few things I discovered that was really cool:
1.) Tarkov has some of the best content creators in the game! I was really impressed with all of the helpful tips on Youtube. These videos have been invaluable in helping me learn.
2.) Tarkov wiki is amazing. period.
With all of this: I gotta say, there is a part of me that still feels like this game is a LITTLE too punishing for newbies. The heavy reliance on the community is both a gem and a curse at the same time. Tarkov is one of the first games where I have to constantly run a 2nd monitor with various information on it to get through the raid. This is especially punishing.
Couple of things though.. This is just from me, Im sure these topics have been discussed but
1.) Do we need all these ammo types? Couldnt we cut them down a little?
2.) Why is the recoil on the guns so crazy? I get it, modding is a big part of the gameplay loop, but jesus..
3.) Not a fan of my sensitivity changing based on the armor I wear. change my movement sure.. but my sensitivity? Makes the game feel a little inconsistent.
4.) Newbie Map maybe? I hear this is coming. But happy there is no SBMM
I hope the game continues to be refined. As the potential this game has is really amazing. Don't screw it up BSG!
Anyway, just wanted to post a little something here. First Wipe so still in the honeymoon phase. Can't wait to join the troves of Jaded Tarkov PMC'S soon! Until then.

2023.03.06 17:28 TopWrap5956 Emissaries are Killing the Chinese community
Please help our community and spread this, it's very important to us.
The Chinese community is under the tyranny of Tenet(Emissary/community manager) and Wikiworker(Emissary/community manageForum moderator) and we are desperate for help. They are not doing their job and acquiescence the Chinese Sherpa group to threatening other streamers. Content creators made hundreds of videos to accuse what the sherpas and emissaries did and yet due to the language difference it won't be heard.
The reason I have to post all this content on Reddit and hope that maybe Nikita will have a chance of reading this instead of reaching a BSG representative is because I tried several times but the responses are 1) They will push us to Tenet or Wikiworker once we said we are from the Chinese community 2)They don't really care or don't have the power to intervene (Here is a screenshot of the conversation between me and a BSG CM)
conversation with a BSG community manager The conversation in this screenshot almost concludes what happened. But I will just write a little bit more, the start of all the mess is a Chinese Sherpa Arthurk600 made a video claiming that a streamer tries to apply for the Sherpa program but with a condition that he would only teach his subscribers (What's funny about this is ArthurK600's own subscribers can hop in his team and get carried any time without request from the official page). This is a very serious accusation cause the Chinese community are losing lots of players recently due to the cheating problem and really needs some new blood. And he failed to provide any evidence to prove any of his claims. The streamer he accused is a very famous Tarkov player in China and have over 300K follower, and the most ridiculous thing is most of the player just learned about the existence of Sherpa and the emissary program by watching this famous streamer's reply to Arthurk600's accusation. Then people start to realize that these Sherpa and emissaries aren't doing any good to the community, so they make videos about this whole drama and request an answer from the emissaries team. And that's not all of it, because ArthurK600 didn't get the reaction he want, he taught his fans to inflict cyberbullying on that streamer also plant fake evidence, and plan to sue him for defamation, he even said that he will make that streamer never be able to stream again(We got all sorts of evidence, chat history, etc.)
ArthurK600 on the official Sherpa list Tenet and Wikiworker backed up what ArthurK600 did by sharing his video using the Official BSG account on the Chinese platform, after the situation get worse they kicked ArthurK600 out of the Sherpa group and hope that will appease the anger of the people but it was too late. Wikiworker is supposed to be in charge of the Chinese fandom wiki but it has been 3 months into the new wipe and yet the wiki main page shows the current game version is
0.12.12.32 game version 0.12.12.32 what a joke Tenet is in charge of the Chinese localization and the Chinese localization he made is absolutely useless, they just updated the gunsmith part 8's requirement this month, but the quest itself changed like two years ago, SBIH's requirement also updated to 125 meters last week but the actual changes have been made last wipe (and since they changed it back to 100 meters now the description is wrong again).
The thing is most Chinese players can't gain access to discord or Twitter this kind of mainstream platform due to Chinese policy and we need an alternative way to submit feedback. I really hope someone from BSG can look into this and maybe we can get a poll to re-elect new emissaries.

2023.03.05 08:50 MatterOfTrust New Player Impressions: Rollercoaster of a Game
I bought Tarkov about 2 weeks ago, just before the emergence of the 60% scandal. Coming from PUBG, I initially didn't expect much, but it only took a few hours of play to realize just how satisfying Tarkov's gunplay is, so I was hooked.
The scav karma first caught me off-guard - in my very first scav raid at night, I was lucky enough to find a night vision scope and immediately started sniping everything that moved. It took a few minutes to realize that there might be a reason why other people don't shoot back, and frankly, the karma system still remains somewhat of a mystery - most of the people I met simply ignored each other and were focused on the loot more than the fighting.
After approximately 25h of play, I reached level 6 PMC, and I've been struggling a lot - as easy as scav runs are, the PMC runs are equally difficult. I've consulted the wiki on the ammo and beginner-friendly gun loadouts, and apparently, with the exception of 12 gauge, the only ammo I've got access to can't penetrate anything beyond level 2 armour. This was exemplified by multiple post-raid screens showing that the enemy's armour absorbed 200, 300 and more points of the damage I caused. Meanwhile, unless I got lucky with some quick Fence deals, I was limited to level 2 and 3 armour myself and barely any sights or weapon mods. In short, when playing a PMC, I always felt like a defenseless prey and could only reliably survive by stocking up on food and hiding in the bushes for the first 25 minutes of a raid.
I wish I could upgrade my hideout in any way, but it seems that the simplest tools are also in the highest demand - I have yet to see a measuring tape in the wild, and without it, I can upgrade neither the security nor the generator. I think the flea market would help a lot, since I keep stocking all those valuable barter items in hopes of offloading them to other players, but I'm not sure if I can even make it to level 15 at this point.
Now, the highlight of my experience so far was accidentally stumbling upon a corpse of a fully decked-out player. I don't know who killed him, but the guy was rocking a level 60 dogtag and had a 500k+ loadout on him. I looted him with my scav and proceeded to the extraction without seeing a single soul. For the next few hours, I happily played around with my new toys in an offline raid - it was the closest I could get to experiencing the "end game" of Tarkov for a long while. The items I looted were so expensive that I couldn't even insure them - it would've cost me too much.
So, after a good warm-up, I loaded up my PMC into Customs in hopes of killing a few people for the daily - and then, for the first time in my 30h play, I started getting a disconnect after disconnect due to a high ping. This had never happened neither before nor after, and yet, comically, just had to happen now, when I was risking the most expensive gear I could bring with me.
I lay down on the ground, hoping to outwait the moments of high ping, but after a reconnect, I found myself stuck prone under a nearby truck. I still have no clue how it happened - I crawled in there without a hitch, trying to hide myself, but after reconnecting, my camera was stuck in a weird upwards position and I couldn't move anywhere at all. Four reconnects later, I was finally booted from the raid for good and lost all my high-end gear without firing a single shot.
All in all, I'm enjoying the game, but I wish most of the content like efficient ammo, sights and weapon mods, weren't locked behind level 15 and level 2 traders, and maybe that some starter hideout items were easier to find. Seriously, is a single disposable syringe so much to ask for?..
TL;DR. The game is a lot of fun, but being a beginner without tools to protect myself or progress the hideout feels bad. Scav runs are risk-free money-makers, while PMC runs are deathtraps that take dozens of hours to achieve the smallest progress.
Update: Immediately after complaining about the measuring tape on reddit, I've found one for sale from the Fence. So yay, reddit!

2023.03.02 17:21 urbanknight4 Any Story/Endgame Mods?
Hey all, I'm real happy to have discovered this mod since Tarkov is beginning to not be fun anymore for me. I admit I'm way more of a casual player than most, but I thought that reading up on the wiki and playing with friends would help. Unfortunately, the player skill ceiling is too high and I frankly can't compete, and I'm not sure I care enough to practice religiously to get to the level where I need to be.
With that being said, this mod allows me to play with bots that won't instantly zero in on me, so I have a fighting chance. It's been a lot of fun, but despite that I'm thinking ahead and wondering what I'll do when I unlock the good stuff. Play some more and keep killing bots? I was wondering if there was anything in the pipeline in terms of story content, kind of like Stalker. A definite ending point after which I can say "alright, I beat Tarkov. Let's play it a second time".
I did see a mod for custom quests but it seems to be outdated. Any help or suggestions for mods making the endgame worth grinding towards would be great!
