2023.06.01 21:47 Glittering_Scheme144 Festival Playlist Tunes June 1st - June 8th (Autumn S21)

Happy Thursday Throttle Jockeys! I have some nice hot rods for you this weeks seasonal challenges. Seasonal Tuning method 1. I always go for a stock look - wheels, rim sizes and aero are only changed if it is absolutely necessary for handling and stability. 2. Tunes are always tuned to max performance with max handling. 3. All cars tuned vs. Unbeatable AI on championship tracks in seasonal weather. Tunes are then baseline ran in Rivals. I again want to thank everyone for the downloads, follows, comments and likes! Remember feedback is important! I like hearing any and all comments on these tunes. There is no “bad” comments. You guys have been awesome with your support.
FORZAthon Weekly “No Compromise” 2017 Ram Power Wagon (AWD) Share Code: 253-357-045 Use the Malpais trailblazer. It’s by far the easiest one.
Trial “Ooh Barranca” C600 Retro Rally 1992 Toyota Celica GT-Four (AWD) Full Aero Share Code: 165-971-941 Little disappointed in this weeks trial settings. Retro Rally could’ve been a great trail had they gone with B700 instead of C600 ratings. Throw in the selection of power tracks like Barranca and it takes the competitive car choices down to a very narrow selection. Any C600 tune with off-road tires will get gapped at the first two tracks. This Celica tune is quick and will get the job done for you.
The tracks for this weeks trail are: 1. Barranca Trail 2. El Pipila Scramble 3. Banjo Trail
Event Lab “By Land, Air, & Sea” A800 Off-road Capable 1993 Toyota T100 Baja (AWD) Share Code: 145-154-052 Fun truck to drive around in and is definitely Off Road capable!
Danger Sign “Salto De Rio” S2 Anything Goes Target: 590.6 FT Jesko (AWD) Share Code: 183-064-856
Speed Trap “Dust Bowl” S2 Anything Goes Target: 160 MPH Jesko (AWD) Share Code: 183-064-856 Start to the south and cut across the desert to hit the trap. You should be between 180-200 MPH.
Seasonal Championship “Rally Good Time” A800 Rally Monsters 1985 Porsche #185 959 (AWD) Share Code: 464-375-484 A800 Rally Monsters is a pretty dull class. There is no “monster” in most of these underpowered cars. I went through every single one of them and I found your monster. This Porsche has a bad attitude. Maybe it’s because someone put those ugly utility trailer lights on its roof? Lucky for you this thing is ready to kill all of the drivatars in true horror movie monster fashion. The tracks for this Seasonal Championship are: 1. Tapalpa Trail 2. La Selva Scramble 3. Cascada Trail
Seasonal Championship “Ready For Lift Off” A800 Unlimited Offroad 2004 #23 Nissan Rally Raid (AWD) Share Code: 123-726-527 Great tune for Cross Country Circuits. Lots of power and good handling will send the drivatars to the back of the pack. The tracks for this Seasonal Championship are: 1. Airfield Cross Country Circuit 2. Costera Cross Country Circuit 3. Ribera Rocosa Cross Country
RALLY ADVENTURES
Speed Zone “Tierras Verdes” S2 Anything Goes Target: 72 MPH 2014 BAC Mono (AWD) Share Code: 253-907-830 Oh boy! This one is very tricky! Start from the north. You can actually get away with being quite a bit of the trail for this one. Once you hit the start gate veer to the left off the road. Cut a straight path through the field. Line yourself up for the right hander. On exit of the last left you will be off the trail again just cut a straight path to the finish gate. My best speed was a 77 MPH pass. Good luck!
Seasonal Championship “Time Warp” B700 Retro Saloons 1991 BMW M3 (RWD) Full Aero Share Code: 861-066-499 Light and nimble. Just what you need for these tight and twisty expansion tracks. I think this tune is the “Ultimate Driving Experience”. The tracks for this Seasonal Championship are: 1. Devils Pass 2. Canyon Trail 3. Arzate Sprint
HOT WHEELS
Danger Sign “Canyon Fire” Target: 1,640.4 FT Jesko (AWD) Share Code: 183-064-856 Jesko Murder tune shines again! One & done with a distance of over 2,200 feet!
Seasonal Championship “Super Loops” S900 Modern Super Cars 2010 Nobel M600 Share Code: 142-465-956 This Noble is insanely fast!!! Easy winner here. This car and this tune slays on any track anywhere. The tracks for this Seasonal Championship are: 1. Canyon Loop Speed Sprint 2. Twin Loop Speed Sprint 3. Canyon Racer Speed Sprint
There you have it. Congratulations on your victories and another great week!

2023.06.01 21:45 Liquidmaximo Bing often says, "I'm sorry, but I couldn't find any information...". Tested Bard out of frustration and got solid results. What is going on?

Bing often says,
My question, "Can you clearly layout the differences between the 2022 BMW m240i and the 2023 BMW m240i?"
My Bing attempt used the "More Precise" setting. See the images for the results. This has occured several times lately. Bing says it can't find any information especially when asking for comparison between items. I couldn't even get Bing to provide details on the 2023 model at all. However, if you play around with the wording long enough, Bing will eventually spit out a bare bones summary of the 2023 model. I would absolutely use chatGPT for this if it didn't require recent information. I have no idea if Microsoft has destroyed ChatGPT within Bing, but the results are very poor lately. I use regular ChatGPT for most items but product comparison often requires recent data. Is Microsoft still using the Twitter API or did they go through with stopping? I'm just brain storming.

Condo keeps tripping circuit board and shutting off power.
Hey y’all, I'm having a situation in my condo. When I have a bunch of stuff on the circuit breaker trips and shuts off my power.
I checked the board and it looks like the whole condo besides one bedroom is hooked up to one circuit cause I was messing with them turning them on and off trying to figure out what controls what.
They have labels but the labels are incorrect. It says kitchen and bath are hooked up to one and the other 2 have thing else. So technically according to the labels there should be 3 different circuits for the whole condo but when I was messing with it everything is hooked up to one besides one bedroom that has its own.
Anything I can do about this? Or opening the walls is the only option?

2023.06.01 21:01 squilliam001 Want to upgrade - looking for advice

I’m starting my first job in Chicago in a couple months and I’m looking to upgrade from my current 170k mile car. Not sure what makes sense cabudget wise so looking for advice.
Info: - plan to move to nyc asap where I wouldn’t need a car, so may be selling car soon after buying - ideally > 2 seats - ~400k income - no debt
I’ve been looking at the Tesla Model Y, but seems like used prices are so high to the point where it would make more sense to buy new with $7500 tax credit. But if I may be selling the car soon, it probably wouldn’t make any sense to buy new? Also been looking at used bmw but those prices also seem a bit inflated atm, not sure though.
Maybe it doesn’t make sense to upgrade at all? Any advice would be appreciated!

2023.06.01 21:00 sjx112 Applying for VHIC from Germany

Hey guys,
I’ve been out of the military for years now, and I just got my claim approved. Am now 70% service-connected. Live in Germany.
I want to access the installations here, and I know that there is a long process for this. It all starts with getting a VHIC (somehow).
I tried to apply for this online using access.va.gov/accessva, but I keep getting a “Something went wrong, please contact your local VA facility”. I’m using my passport and my German mailing address.
Is there any way to get this card without spending a ton of money to fly back to the US? I have family in Texas, so maybe I could list that as the address and try to get them to mail it there?
I feel like I’m an edge case that no one thought about when they set this whole thing up. Help and advice would be appreciated.

2023.06.01 20:54 rlnjkm Is LISK a Bisexual Sadist Sexual Serial Killer?

Is LISK a bisexual sadist serial killer; grooming, attacking and murdering both men and women and why do few people really want to consider this?
A reasonable case for this can be made with just allowing one’s perspective to see all of the overarching evidence and challenge law enforcement’s one dimensional, myopic and hastily put together narrative.
As stated many times before, SCPD believes “Asian Male” to be an outlier, a surprise to LISK, who being all heterosexual, beat this person to death in a fit of rage. On the surface, this is a plausible assessment; that is, if there weren't any other males found in proximity (location and time), to female victims, or found in some sort of female clothing. How does that align when SCPD also has a keen eye on Andre Jamal “Sugar Bear'' Issac, going so far as to incorporate a link to the Gilgo News website, and “owning” the case, despite their torso being found in Arverne, in a female bodysuit and skirt?
The link, or links?
As my research progressed, using my map, it became rather obvious to me that there was something more going on than the narrative suggests. The list of male victims I’ve compiled are not conclusive and there could very well be any number of reasons and tons of other POI’s, but if “Asian Male” and Sugar Bear and the Manorville Males are in LISK’s orbit, then so too are the men I will introduce below.
SCPD, subsequently and consistently has denied any link between the three murdered males found in Manorville, 2000, 2003 and 2012, despite being in relative proximity to Jessica Taylor and Valerie Mack (who were also found along Ocean Parkway in the Gilgo Beach area).
But, is this accurate?
Not by a long shot…..here is why…
What if LISK selected both women and men, to moderately groom and ultimately murder?
Before I get to that, I wanted to thoroughly look at Sexual Serial Killers in general. Many SK’s are compulsion killers- driven towards certain criteria and/or opportunities, but predominantly, sexually driven:
There are precedents of bisexual serial killers:
Serial killers have many overlapping traits, which seem like MO’s to the average person, but this is actually not the case. Each known serial killer is wholly unique and while there are some similarities, it is foolish to try to relegate any one of them into a box of characteristics and call it expertise, or “definitive”.
LISK clearly has a female “preference”. Petite, 5’-5’5”, 100 -110 lbs., hazel/green eyes. The “attributed” LISK Victims all share these characteristics. (Side note: less than 5% of the world’s population has hazel eyes, in the US, it’s closer to 18%). The narrative here is that it was easier to “control” smaller, lighter women, but not necessarily the case. Eye color preference is a derivative of paraphilia and may represent for LISK, a catalyst, rooted in his childhood or early developmental experiences or fantasies.
With the males we see a different trend, notably because males tend to be larger overall. But the methods of their deaths have some consistency.
For now, I will focus on just the time frame of 1990-2016. I will add background where relevant. To be fair, some of the criteria I used is lacking depth and is tenuous, however, for example, at that time, it was well known that a male wearing one earring is representing themselves as gay in many circles, whereas nowadays, it is not.
Also notable:
Here is a more detailed list that incorporates both attributed and possible victims:
Connectivity Avenues:
It appears that victims who worked the streets were dismembered, compared to escorts who advertised online, (assuming the same for FIJD, Peaches).

2023.06.01 20:48 VGA_Analytics Is Roth IRA worth it anymore?

Hi all. Looking for some guidance to my financial situation. TLDR is I am looking to weigh the pros / cons of taking out my Roth IRA amount to fund down payment on a house. My reasoning is that the money I have in that account would be better served as equity in a home that will appreciate at the same or higher rate of return that an IRA would and theoretically in 30 years would be a place I can a) live in and/or b) sell for retirement funding boosts. Out of all my securities, I've identified it as the most fungible for this cause. Just want to get a gut check from others. I understand every situation is different & the most accurate answer is very detail-dependent. Just wanted to get a gut check & see what my blind spots are. Thanks!

About me:
-Veteran (access to VA loan - $0 down)
- 29 yo
- Single
- Six figure salary
- Healthy 401k & otherwise savings

EDIT: Thank you all for the comments. This is exactly why I wanted to pulse check myself before making potentially life changing financial decisions. I will keep the Roth IRA and will either eat the higher mortgage with no down payment or use other funds for it.

2023.06.01 20:46 stevebri [selling-suggest] Pros and cons on where to sell a used car

I have low milage BMW M roadster that I need to sell. Not sure about which avenue. I hear that I would get the least from a BMW dealer, more from "side of the road" dealer and more still from an individual sale. I worry that if I try to sell over craigslist (ebay motors?) I could receive a bum check. All in all I've never done this and could use some advice

2023.06.01 20:34 astewart1802 F36 435d N57 high oil consumption

I bought a used 2015 F36 435d with 92,000 miles earlier this year and it has very high oil consumption of about 1l (1 quart) per 600 miles (1000km). I have changed the oil and filter myself with 5W30 Castrol Edge and an OEM BMW filter and drain plug.
I can't see any oil leaking from the engine and there's no pools or drops of oil on the floor after parking. I've looked around the turbo's, the valve cover and anywhere else I can see.
I also don't see any smoke from the exhaust when revving the car or under hard acceleration and the car runs really well otherwise.
Has anyone got any other ideas? Thank you!

Techniques to make color darker for over sanded veneer areas
I recently started a project to restore a heavily dented dashboard car trim in a BMW. I consider the color more of a Ebony Satin It is an open pore oak wood and I did the following
  1. Light sanding off the scratches
  2. Use colored pencils to add more details to emulate some wood patterns
  3. Wax
While doing 1, I over sanded a spot and now it looks brighter (you can see the oval in the picture) and I’m trying to hide it. I’ve tried ebony stain before I did the waxing and the stain won’t adhere to it.
I wonder what option do I have. Do I paint it? My fear of using paint is is going to hard to match and create ugly boundaries.
