Hi. I'm new here and I know this is highly used as an advice blog for people. I figured I'd tell my story because at this point I'm at a loss and could use some input, preferably non bias. I apologize for this being so lengthy.
I (32F) have been dating my boyfriend (40M) for nearly 2 years. We have a great relationship and we are very compatible. I love him so much and hes been nothing but good to me. When we first started dating, we agreed to take things slow and not rush into anything. We decided we would hold off on introducing our kids until about a year into dating. I have 2 kids, a 12 year old girl and an 8 year old boy. They have separate fathers. I have split custody with my daughters dad and my sons dad is not involved. My bf has one 11 year old son with his ex wife, they too have split custody. We agreed to only have our sons meet, because as of right now I am currently going through a custody dispute with my daughters dad. I filed for primary against him for multiple reasons. We felt we should have my daughter meet my bf until after my custody trial and the dust has settled.
I have a very messy history with my daughters dad. We have been in and out of court many times over the past 10+ years since we split , a lot of it because he has made false accusations against me as a mother. I've had CPS at my door 3 separate times now because he repeatably alleges I'm this abusive, unfit mother when him and I are butting heads. All of these accusations were dropped and unfounded. He is extremely vindictive and has slandered me in court over and over. My life has been a living hell because of him, and he has manipulated my daughter into thinking he's this awesome parent and I'm the bad guy. He's coerced my daughter into keeping secrets for him and lying for him. It's an absolute nightmare and it one of several reasons I filed for primary. She doesn't realize his horrible and narcissistic behavior because he has her wrapped so tight around his finger. He even went as far as falsely accusing my last boyfriend of abusing my children and getting him involved when he did absolutely nothing wrong, eventually that relationship ended but not for that reason. It's a control issue for sure and I believe her dad is intimidated by my daughter forming any type of bond with a man other than him. He wants her all to himself. Which is unfair, because I never gave him a hard time about girls he's dated. I told him as long has they're decent people , not on drugs and treat my daughter well, I don't care who hes with. I am not that territorial baby mama. This just skims the surface of all the horrible shit he's put me through over the years. After I filed for primary, he filed an emergency petition against me claiming I'm emotionally and physically abusing my daughter. Not sure how this petition was granted but eventually after not seeing her for 15 days, I went to court with my attorney and everything was fixed and his petition was thrown out due to lack of evidence. My trial is in 2 months and it's been torture waiting on this day to come. It's been put on hold for months because the court system is pushed back due to covid and my lawyer also had to extend the trial because he had to go out on medical leave for a bit.
So back to the topic of me and my bf. We decided to keep my daughter out of the picture for now until after court. But we had our sons get acquainted and things seemed to be going well. We were spending a lot more time together over the summer and we were making progress in our relationship. I was really happy about this. But then it seemed like things came to a halt, and we stopped doing things as a family and just reverted back to only seeing each other on weekends he doesn't have his son. We live 40 minutes away from each other, so it's hard to spend time together with our kids schedules and work schedules. I see him a few times a month tops. it sucks but I love him and I've tried my best to make this relationship work. We text and talk everyday.
Recently, I confronted him and asked him why we haven't spent any time together with the kids. I told him I felt he has no desire to grow as a family unit and I wanted to know whats up, being that we've been together almost 2 years. He confessed the reason he hasn't wanted to engage the kids is because he is nervous about my daughters dad. He says he's afraid that when we introduce my daughter, her dad is gonna go A wall and accuse him of abuse like he did with my ex. I didn't understand where this was coming from, because I had been very open with him from day 1 about both of my kids fathers and my history with them. I told him everything he deserved to know. But then he told me that about 2 months ago he had talked with his lawyer and asked for advice on the situation and what he should do if my ex should ever tried to pull a stunt like with the last guy. His lawyer flat out told him to end things with me and that there's nothing protecting him and those kind of accusations could ruin is custody arrangement with his son and even his job position. She basically told him hes risking everything if he moves forward with me and he's in for a world of trouble. He has also discussed this matter with friends, family and colleagues who have gone through similar issues.
I'm crushed, I went into this relationship wanting to settle down. I told him from the door I wanted a family and marriage. He said he wanted that too, but now that he's been given this advice, he's basically telling me that right now he cant give that to me cause he feels he's at risk. He says he doesn't know what to do. I asked him, so what are we supposed to do, just not engage our kids and keep only seeing each other a few times a month? I understand his perspective, but what makes this hard is that he's coming to this decision 2 years in. I'm fully invested in this relationship and he just unloads this on me. It's not fair, I cant just be happy and have a good relationship with someone because my daughters dad is unhinged and his behavior is unpredictable. How is it right for someone to have that kind of control over my life and the person I'm involved with. Please don't judge me, I know I picked the people I had my kids with and can't change that now. I've been bearing the cross of my choices for years and I'm trying to make things right and do right by my kids. I'm just so down about this and feel so guilty for pushing people away with the baggage I bring. What should I tell my bf?

I have been wearing PVC sandals that are tight with no socks working from home however 3 weeks ago I moved and I am now standing for my job 10 hours straight four days in a row whilst working from home because I don’t have a proper desk. I’ve noticed a stinging when I used a Clorox wipe to quickly wipe something up with the bottom of my sandal. When I felt the stinging, I immediately checked my feet and noticed the tiny slits in between my toes. I also have been very depressed and my hygiene has taken a back burner also. Hi PF Gurus, I wanted to reach out to see if you have some advice for my 60 year old mother.
She was very lucky to receive a small inheritance and currently has all of her retirement savings in a brokerage account on Vanguard. She is not really able to put away much into a tax-deferred account due to not making any income.
I currently have her brokerage set up like this:
Stocks (70% of total): -VTI (85% of stocks) -VXUS (15% of stocks)
Bonds (30% of total): -VCHS (15% of bonds) -SGOV (85% of bonds)
I am mostly concerned about her bonds allocation. I purchased SGOV as I understand rates are high right now, but I'm not sure if this is a good option for someone with a 10-15 year outlook.
Would you all be able to provide some information regarding a good "exit strategy" from SGOV in the future? How can I best transfer my mom's bond allocation to a more sustainable bond ETF/MF?
Also, her day to day finances are good imo as she receives enough monthly income to cover her rent+expenses and has $40,000 in I-Bonds as an emergency fund.
Any additional information or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I (17F) have always loved my material grandmother very fiercely and she's turning 73 next week. She's a very strong lady who raised her small kids on her own when my Grandpa passed away very young.
She and I are alike and I'm her first grandchild. Our bond's very strong and I love that.
Recently it has hit me how she is getting old and may not live very long. I do not want lose her and I'm getting jittery and scared for her.
I don't have anyone else to share this feeling with as I'm usually a reserved person IRL.
Grandparents really do deserve the world and I wish I could be small once again and play carrom with her and eat the snacks she prepared for me. I hope God makes her stick around for atleast 10 more years.
I hope she lives a cat's lives. 9 chances of resurrection because she's the best and the sweetest lady out there.
I just wrote her a 5-page letter and I am 100% sure she's gonna read and re-read it till her tired eyes give out.

How long will apps like Bear still have updates for old mac versions? I ask myself this because I use MBP 2012 and the maximum version it goes with is catalina, and from what I saw in the appstore, bear says it has compatibility up to macOS el capitan(10.11), and I see that it is a standard in other software that and I use it like vscode, discord, browsers, who has compatibility up to 10.11, why exactly this version and until when will we have compatibility?
My question is that I don't know if I use OCLP to go to a newer version or stay in catalina longer, why all the software I use, like bear, still have compatibility, but until when?

Now why do I personally find this impressive? Hype Boy was released EIGHT months ago. July 2022. It is now March 2023. And the song is #4 on Melon. Not only that, but it has charted in the Melon top 10 for 33 weeks, aka since it was released! The song is still eligible in music shows after all this time. (Note I extended it to top 20 for the Attention and Hype Boy comparison). As a Hype Boy enthusiast from Day 1, I'm very happy about this.
I find that so extremely impressive, especially because it was completely overshadowed by "Attention" on its release. Not to say that Attention isn't doing amazingly, since it's above songs that were released way after it. But still, Hype Boy is just shocking. Like it doesn't even have a music show win because Attention took all the initial hype and now look at it!
Even the fact that the Hype Boy trend is still a thing among famous actors, actresses, idols and the gp after so many months is also amazing imo. Also I'm strongly resisting the urge to plug my favourite idol covers of the song in this post rn. Ditto has so, so many achievements under its belt and yet I still think Hype Boy is their most impressive hit just because of its sheer longevity.
Tbh, I'm not really sure how the songs that seem to have a chokehold on Korea are universally decided but am I the only one who really thinks that Hype Boy will 100% be up there with "iconic" kpop songs like Twice's Cheer Up, EXO's Growl or RV's Psycho in the future?

I've been dealing with something for quite a while.
it all started in June 2022 when i woke up in the morning and i couldn't swallow liquids and solids,i went to the doctor immediately after i noticed it and she said it would go away so i went home and waited to see if it got better and it didn't the next morning i went again, and she said the same thing to me she said i should stop being annoying and come to the GPP for this problem,
(fast forward (day 10) still having the issue but drank tea spoons of water for days and didn't eat at all, i couldn't take it any longer and went to the ER and the doctors they were shocked about how the GP treated me, i was extremely dehydrated lost 15 kg,once helped by the hospital staff i got LV and they did Bloodtests and checked urine & stool and saw an ENT and the blood was good ,urine wasn't that good because i was dehydrated and stool aswell , the ENT doc didn't see / find anything weird it all looked normal aswell, i went on to stay for 3 more days in the hospital and on the 3rd day they said i could go home (but i still didn't know what i had or what was wrong with me... they said i would be fine and all was okay) i managed to eat mashed potatoes and some vegtebales and meat.
went home later on and continued to have a difficulty with swallowing for a while and it went like up and down up and down, then the problem magically almost fully dissapeared i could eat all and drink soda again but sometimes i would still feel the sensation like there was something stuck in my throat and this made me scared to eat again,
(###) then i started feeling twitches and pains in my thighs feeling weak overall noticing a twitch in my tongue aswell ..
like 2 months later i got endoscopy and they took biopsies and again they couldn't find anything strange or a reason that can cause this.
then i started googling because (#!) (worst I've ever done) what it might be and came upon ALS, stroke , Parkinsons.
then i was convinced it was ALS due to the swallowing problems and twitching
i still have this fear even today and the fear it comes and goes., i was doing well supressing this fear because it went so much better i was able to eat and drink normally and enjoy!! food again for a good month the problems fully dissappeared.
but last week it started again it became more difficult (i could eat and drink) but it felt worse again
and i fear ALS because my swallowing problem started again ....
Does this sound like ALS?
Doctors told me I don't have ALS but I haven't had any tests and they refuse to send me to a neurologist because they all say im fine so I'm not sure

Hello All,
Long story short, my father-in-law needs help building a computer dedicated to running AutoCad 14 to reference and modify his oldest designs. This was released in 1997, which pre-dates Windows XP by a few years. I have an old tower that I built in 2013 that I can dedicate to this, but all of my hardware was manufactured over a decade after windows XP, so I doubt any drivers will work if I try to just install a windows xp license on the tower. My questions are as follows:
1) Can Windows XP run AutoCad 14? I don't know how support was on XP with software that was released before XP's release date
2) How would you approach this problem? Does it make more sense to try to get old hardware and build a Windows XP (or other) operating system, or does it make more sense to make a windows 10 or 11 operating system computer and create some sort of virtual portal on it? I've never done virtual drives other than to mount an ISO for a ripped piece of software, so I am a complete novice to this

So I’m in a weird position where I have the chance to get an internship at a MM PE firm. Thing is, I graduated a few years back (23 currently) and have found it hard to break into anything with little experience–had no internships in college. I know, I messed up.
After a sales role I landed my current job at a PE fintech company doing something that is really unique and so while I don’t want to dox myself I will say gives me a broad view of the PE world. The pay is low however and it would be difficult to really do anything with this position so I want to know if it’s more ideal to take the PE internship or just keep my current role.
Another big obstacle is the fact that I’ve only been with this company for around 4 months, meaning that in the future I would either have to omit this from my resume or have the bad looks of staying only for a few months (my last sales job was for ~10 months).
Any advice?
