I filed for custody last week. I was denied an emergency hearing but granted a motion. However, this is not until mid July. My attorney is preparing the documents currently and am just waiting for them to get done for my signature. No one, not even his family, will confirm where my ex is living as my attorney has attempted to contact him via email regarding how he is willfully holding my daughter away from me. From what I have gathered our baby is primarily staying with the grandfather and the grandfather's girlfriend takes care of her most of the time. She is in no way related to our daughter and has only been known by my ex's family for 2 years. Additionally, I received another letter from the family court. My ex's father and girlfriend filed against my ex and I for full custody of our daughter. They also were denied for an emergency hearing but granted a motion. My attorney advised me that I can bring a police officer to go to their house to pick up my daughter and bring her home which I did before I found out that the grandfather filed for custody. The officer concluded I would be kidnapping my daughter if I took her home with me, even though, our daughter and father both lived with me and my family full time prior to the separation. I don't understand how it would be considered kidnapping if I brought her home but what my ex and his family is not. Furthermore, the grandfather's girlfriend called CPS on me which I know was to only get me upset. CPS confirmed with me they haven't ordered anything for me not to be able to see my daughter. They also asked once I have our daughter to file for custody. I am not unfit to be a parent either. I took great care of her and she was really happy with me. I never have even gotten frustrated with her. I always comforted her, made sure she eat healthy food, made sure she was always clean. I did everything a good mom would do.
For more context the father has physically hurt me in the past. Broken bones, bruises, scratches. He did not like that I wanted to leave him and was not happy that I was not happy with him. I am not sure if this is another means to abuse me further now that I am away from him.
If I have to ultimately wait until the hearing what is the most likely scenario as to how this will play out?

A critical shortage in tin supply is setting the stage for a positive price outlook for the commodity with deficits expected to persist in the foreseeable future.
This situation has arisen due to several factors including the lack of new tin discoveries and global events that have hindered the ability of tin miners and refiners to bring new supply into the market.
Since 1985, only four new tin mines have been put into production, now there are only a handful of operating, economic, and sustainable projects. There has been a general lack of new tin mineral exploration that has left the tin supply in desperate need of new discoveries.
The leading tin-producing nations have exhausted their near-surface high-grade tin deposits. Their mines are getting deeper, grades are declining, and operations are becoming more expensive. As a result, the London and Shanghai Metals Exchanges are experiencing historically low levels of tin supply.
China, the world’s largest tin-producing country is also the leading consumer of tin. In 2022, China accounted for approximately 30% of the global tin supply and 47% of the global tin consumption. What is alarming is that China’s tin production has consistently declined over the past 15 years which has coincided with global tin reserves being depleted over the same timeframe. According to USGS projections, this trend is expected to continue, and the supply deficit is expected to widen through 2030 and beyond.
Recent events have further impacted the global tin supply situation.
Indonesia, the second-largest tin-producing nation, has announced plans to limit or ban tin exports to create greater economic benefit within its borders by processing the metal in-country. The country’s Energy and Mining Minister, Arifin Tasrif stated, ‘What we are not allowing is exporting raw materials because these minerals are not renewable.’ The country only consumes 5% of the refined tin it produces and exports 95%. With China being the top importer of Indonesian tin bars, this would impact China’s ability to source enough tin that it needs as the largest solar panel and consumer electronics manufacturer in the world.
The third largest tin-producing nation, Myanmar, announced a mining ban to start in August 2023. Although previously thought to be uncertain, the Wa State recently released a comprehensive implementation plan for the suspension of all mining activities, demonstrating serious intent to proceed with the proposed ban. This will have devastating effects, further tightening the global tin supply. In 2022, Myanmar accounted for 77% of China’s tin ore imports with the Wa region accounting for 70% of Myanmar’s total tin production.
Minsur, the second-largest refined tin producer in the world, suspended its operations for the entirety of Q1 2023. Operations were suspended due to protests in Peru. Although the company has since resumed operations, it is likely they will continue to face disruptions for the remainder of the year.
The eight largest tin producer, EM Vinto in Bolivia, was also shut down all of Q1 2023 due to its inability to source enough coal from Peru to power its smelter. EM Vinto’s operations have resumed however, it is not out of the question that further disruptions occur due to the lack of a reliable coal supplier.
China’s Q1 2023 tin production declined. The country’s tin production was affected by lower concentrate grades and reduced tin imports from Myanmar. The country’s domestic mine feedstock grade also dropped lowering the total tin tonnes produced in the quarter. Guangxi China Tin, a major tin producer in the country was on care and maintenance for 2 months, further impacting China’s ability to contribute to the world’s global tin production.
The International Tin Association forecasts 3 scenarios based on the disruptions facing key tin-producing nations and companies; all show negative growth in global refined tin supply.
The most optimistic scenario sees a 4% decrease in refined tin supply, the neutral scenario would result in a 7% decrease in refined tin supply, and the most pessimistic scenario would lead to a 12% decrease in refined tin supply.
With so many factors inhibiting the growth in tin supply in the near and long term, the scarcity of the metal will be a catalyst for higher tin prices for the rest of the year and beyond.
The tin market is relatively small compared to other metals; any small disruption will have a large impact on the tin price.

Hi, Until last year I was an IB teacher (economics and business) - decided to try something and switched roles to go back to being a student. I learned the basics of programming and for the past few months I've been working on building this webapp - cephadex.com.

It allows students and teachers to create educational material (different types of flashcards that can be turned into quizzes or studied through the platform with a spaced repetition system) from any input. (pdf, ppt, youtube videos, wikilinks...).

There is and will always be a free tier, right now it has full features for testing. I do have to charge for higher usages as it does use the open AI api, which isn't free. That said in the free tier there are loads of features already. One thing I've started to do for example, is put the syllabi of different IB subjects through to create decks containing all the definitions. You can find them in the public decks section and import them.

Context here. This is a sister post to my other post about Easy/Medium charting; you should give it a read too, if you're up for it (though it's about as long as this one). If you don't feel like clicking though, here's the short version.
This is my first time doing a Full Difficulty chart; I've done a couple Expert ones in the past, and thought it'd be fun to give this a try. The song I'm working with—"Tell Me You Know" by Good Kid—is about a 3/6 in terms of complexity, which I'm pretty sure means you should be able to beat it at the difficulty of your choosing, but watch out.
I basically charted this song in reverse order of difficulty; I did Expert, and simplified down to Medium and then Easy. All you've gotta do is move the notes down and/or get rid of the extra fret, and reduce the number of notes when possible. But I saved Hard for last. See the issue is, this song isn't that complex; there's not a lot of room for me to remove notes (or rather, there were a lot less notes that needed removing). For instance, the song starts with a simple alt strum of 16th notes; people playing on Hard can do that. There's a single 3 note extended sustain chord at the end as well as a single 3 note reverse extended sustain, and the next most complicated chord is a GB—Hard players can hit all of those.
So what did I change?
Almost all the changes I made had to do with chord switching. There were some HOPO chords I removed (because they typically served as a slide between a low chord and a high chord, which might prove to be difficult if you aren't ready for it), and a few that I reduced to a single note. When that wasn't possible, I'd move the frets closer together, so it was less about moving your fingers and more about simply moving your position. If that description doesn't make sense, this is the only way I can think to illustrate it; there's a section during the verse that was changed like this:
from Expert: YB,RB,—,YB,RB,—,YB,RB,—,GB,GY
to Hard: YB,RY,—,YB,RY,—,YB,RY,—,RY,GR
Same rhythm, significantly easier to hit.
Since I try to keep my notes internally consistent (the same notes hit in a different order later in the song sharing the same frets), this had the unintended consequence of simplifying a few sections that didn't really need to be simplified, but I don't think anyone playing on Hard would mind the change.
Aside from that, the only other change I made was adding more HOPOs. This song specifically uses a lot of alt strumming—in fact, when I was doing the initial Expert chart, there were sections that I thought about making HOPOs, but decided against doing it because strumming was more authentic (if harder). In these instances, I just put the HOPOs back. That means there's a number of 4-7 16th note strings where you only have to hit the first one.
But that's it. The rest of the notes were completely untouched. (I'd give you the difference in note count to illustrate my point, but I'm away from my gaming computer and my laptop does not have Clone Hero, so...)
So what do you think? Am I handling this right, or am I over simplifying things? After all, Hard is the second highest difficulty, so if someone's made it this far, maybe they expect a bit more of a challenge.
I might upload a preview video/do a beta release of the chart to make the comparison easier in the future, but this post isn't technically about this song specifically, but charting Hard songs as a whole.
So what are some good tips for charting Hard songs? Are there any explicit rules on what's too difficult for this level, or do I need to play it by ear?
And what's your experience with charting Hard songs? What's your journey been like? I know I'm not the only person doing Full Difficulty charts, so what's the road ahead like? Feel free to share your experience.

Missouri. So I’m not disputing with my roommate over the electric bill, I’m just covering my ass because I wouldn’t put it past him to screw my since the bills in my name. My roommate asked me to move in 2 years ago to help him with bills because he was afraid of losing the house. Since then I’ve pretty much had my own apartment. I get the top floor with a room, living room, and bathroom. We share communal areas like laundry room and kitchen. It’s only a rental but I think he wants to own it one day. Well he tells me he had a previous roommate who didn’t pay the electric bill while it was in his name so he can’t have utilities in his name. So the electric bill is in my name. I signed a lease renewal making me a cotenant that expires at the end of this month. I don’t plan on resigning. If I have text messages with him acknowledging the debt as his, if he doesn’t pay, can I take care of it and just take him to small claims? It’s like 700$.

A bit of an update to a post I made a few weeks back
So I was admitted to a program that was not my first choice. I was unsure about attending, but the deadline to deposit was two days after I had received my acceptance, and this program was the only one I have been admitted to, outside of a few predatory schools.
I was already second guessing my decision when depositing. I was offered a $5,000/year scholarship, but would need to back out of my lease, costing a similar amount of money and essentially negating the benefit of my scholarship for one year. At the same time, their employment numbers 10 months from graduation decreased 10 percent in the past year, now standing at around 63%. Their underemployment increased a similar amount and now stands at 25%.
My stats are 154 with a 3.9 GPA, but I’ve been scoring a few points above this in my practice tests after very little studying the past year, so I feel confident about raising my score for the August LSAT if I put in the prep work.
I want to go into public interest, so saving $ at a school with favorable employment outcomes is my highest priority. Location is not as much of a concern right now. My question is, am I crazy for wanting to R&R after seeing those employment stats? Anything under 70% seems like a bit of a gamble in terms of my employment prospects, but I’m not sure if this notion is misguided. At the same time, I am beginning to think I’d rather take a gap this year and continue my current job as a legal assistant before jumping back into school, so if I am truly misguided about my red flags for this school, I may want to pursue a deferral.

I've just recently learned about this condition. My husband has someone close to him that is diagnosed with this. This post is part of my research to see if certain behaviors are normal as they've been attributed to it.
My main concern was an event that happened the other day. In summary, my husband took this woman to the train station. After missing the first train they waited for the second. About 5 minutes before the next train was to be there my husband said she started to panic about having to ride the train alone and instead wanted him to take her home. With the drive round-trip being around 100mi and other circumstances from the past I said I was not okay with that. When she heard me tell him no on the phone she jumped out of the car while it was moving (this is what my husband said the night of however now he has said they were barely moving). When I talked to her husband about it (I had contacted him about coming to get her) he said how because of this condition she freaks out in certain situations, can't remember things, etc. He specifically said. "When she gets stressed she can go blank minded and confused and not know what to do" (verbatim from the voicenote he sent me).
Is it normal with this condition to react like this in these situations? Specifically, the raging off out of a moving vehicle when told no and having a panic attack about riding a train alone? I understand things can be scary but this isn't the first time she's not been able to handle the situation and others and it's always attributed to this.
I am trying to be understanding hence why I'm doing the research to know more about it. When I've looked online it said it can affect people differently and the symptoms can include problems with thinking but does that lead to always acting out in such manners?

Lightfoot ,who allowed Chicago to turn into a killing field was just given a fellowship at Harvard. The question is why would a supposedly leading University long praised for education give a failure a fellowship. Is it not a slap in the face to Harvard's students? Isn't Harvard's leadership telling those students this is the only educational tool available to you ? We are going to teach you how to FAIL. Is this what Harvard has turned into. Should the state of Massachusetts taxpayers be forced to subsidize this institution? Or was Lightfoot hired because she is a democrat in a highly run democrat state.
One thing for sure I will no longer pay any tuitions that I have been paying in the past to Harvard in the future. So Charlie and Janice there will be no tuition to Harvard for you next year. Find another university and I will continue to pay. Harvard has lost it's way and heads should roll. One man's opinion.

Hi. So I am kinda stressed, so ignore spelling mistakes. I submitted an essay for an English course and used chatGPT to help with some of it. My professor emailed me back today and highlighted sections they said were flagged for "AI detection." I am unsure what to do. I provided them with all the notes I took before writing the essay, and I provided that with my rough draft. They are looking into this. What are my next steps? I am terrified and cannot have plagiarism on my record. Please help me
EDIT: My professor and I had a Zoom call, and he stated he did not believe AI detection software after I sent him a screenshot of my essay passing the software. Since he said he doesn't believe in AI detection software, would his accusations even be allowed, and how did he decide there was AI in it?

The think is that i dont know how to dial in the aeropress grind. I tried to copy the grind size from the last time i bought ground coffee and the coffee tasted weird (same coffee, just different grinders) I think i didnt have the exact grind size in both. So, my question is, ¿How can i dial in coffee for the aeropress with the x-pro? ¿what settings are you using? So i’ve (23F) had the sensation of bugs crawling all over me for years. The itchiness, it’s deeply connected to my anxiety and it’s a neuropathic itch. I’ve spoken to drs and dermatologists about it. They offered me hydroxyzine as a relief which has helped tremendously in the past. It gets rid of the sensation and also helps me get some sleep when the sensation is pretty bad.
This last week, however, I have been going without sleep. I’m 34 weeks pregnant today and the itch has become all I can think about. My hydroxyzine does not work at all anymore. I stay up until about 5am and then sleep til maybe 6:30am. Sometimes it’s an hour more, but i’m always waking up multiple times throughout. It’s really taking a toll on me. It’s mostly all down my legs, the hairs on my legs stand up with static some nights which makes it worse.. but even with no blanket or clothes, it’s like ants are inside my veins. It’s awful and my husband just tells me to focus on my breath and i’ll fall asleep. I’ve found myself so jealous when I hear him snoring. On top of that there is a human being inside my belly who is kicking me the entire time. The other thing is that I have had dark urine for a while but no UTI as my midwives have been carefully monitoring that. (i’ve had recurrent UTIs in the past)
So now i’ve reached out to my midwife so that I can be tested for Cholestasis… I was going to handle it myself but I read that it can be dangerous for birth. I’m devastated to say the least because I was really set on having a home birth. Depending on if I do have it and what the levels are, I may have to be induced. From what I’ve read it could be anywhere from 35 to 39 weeks.. I’m so tired and sad. I keep wanting to cry but I have no energy. I’m going to meet with my midwife later today to get my blood drawn. I’m not sure how long the results will take but from what I have read there is no remedy for the itch. The main reason to get a diagnosis is just so that I can ensure my baby will be born healthy. Just looking for some advice or ideas on how to soothe my skin and mind.. Thanks

I usually skip this episode because I don't think it aged very well. I decided to watch it yesterday and came to a totally new conclusion.
Hank, a cis person, is being misgendered. He gets so upset that by the end of the episode he is threatening the employee. Yet people at the time, and some even now, it's fine to misgender trans people.
I think this is a good example of how nobody likes to be called the wrong thing for them. Cis people too!

I adopted a 3yr old cat Moose back in January, he's really quirky and "dog-like" but now that we've had him for longer, it seems like he just doesn't know cat etiquette like how to play or how to give space to our other cat. IDK his past life, but I don't think he was around cats growing up. We think he's awesome but our other cat Mosey (5yrs) thinks he's super rude sometimes so begrudgingly tolerates him. I think Mosey does want a friend... just maybe not Moose lol
I see why kittens should to be adopted in pairs so they can learn to "be a cat" lol, just wondering if anyone else had an adult cat that eventually learned or became close?

So during senior year of high school I dated this girl for nearly 2 years. About 6 months into the relationship she cheated on me with my best friend after trying to hook up with him before we dated, and he was always trying to talk to her even once we were dating. We separated for over a month and a half and then agreed to get back together. I forgave both of them because it was either both or none (stupid I know). I was never fully over it and never fully forgave both of them which is what led to me breaking up with her.
Fast forward a year and a half later and she gets out of a relationship and her and I start talking and hanging out again for the past 2 months. Then I come to find out that they had sex in the time span that we were talking again. I obviously cut off all communication with her and lashed out at my best friend. After that, I then find out that they’ve been hanging out (more than a one night stand type of thing) even after I called him out on it. This was the final straw for me, he keeps trying to apologize but I don’t see any world where I will forgive him after everything that’s happened.
How do I proceed in terms of dealing with him? I would ask the same about her as I still do have some feelings for her but that’s probably done for good.
