hey folks,
my girlfriend & i have decided that we both enjoy opening sets! we've so far opened:
my girlfriends' birthday is in 2 weeks from now, and we both have an "addiction" to pulling cool stuff - in your opinion, what's the coolest to pull? keep in mind: we'll only buy 1 BB at around MSRP (ie: no evolving skies lol) - we're mostly looking for sets which hit that "wow" factor even if buying a "small" quantity
our requirements are:
tl;dr - looking for cool packs to open, as a collector, which may have value in the long run (value is secondary - having fun is the goal :D )
for ref - we're in the UK where stock is either on PC UK (eg: brilliant stars) or on ebay (eg: lost origins)
i have no experience from gen 4 onwards - so everything is new to me! we just enjoy the aspect of pulling things which look like "collectors" items even if they don't hold value - as an example, we pulled the JP slowpoke from Sv1V which we both think looks incredible but otherwise holds no value (in ebay UK it goes for around £5 - which we don't really care for - it just looks awesome!)

- a crown zenith ETB ("broke even" - but not selling the cards, lol, and also this was like 3 weeks ago so prices probably went down if we were being realistic)

- japenese or english is OK (my gf prefers JP for the "guaranteed" pull rates)
- we're not really looking for "profit" or anything - basically, anything cool which can be graded & slabbed & put in a display case in the future
- anything that can reasonably be retrieved with 1 BB (ie: 36 packs) or in JP (ie: 30 packs) - i realise that pull rates etc don't guarantee this, but just seeing what people think!
- i don't mind paying a bit over MSRP

They should leave education up to the parents who have always had the right to run for school boards, sit on PTAs, and volunteer within the class room.
Since only ~45% of 4th graders can read why bother banning books. Why not focus on funding schools and setting achievable goals? They can't because it is not sensational, its not negative, it's not divisive, it takes real work to implement, and it may cost money.

I lost a lot of money to gambling in a span of 1/2 months. Prbbly I lost like 2k dollars.
Maybe that's not much for you, but with the exchange rate where I live (Brazil) it's a lot of money, plus the fact that I'm merely a young full-time college student, I don't have a huge income... I turned 100 dollars in 1500 dollars, 50 dollars in 500 dollars, 40 dollars in 150 dollars... I always started winning, but in the end I always started to lose, I lost everything, and I deposited again. I took a lot of money out of my credit card (which I can't pay anymore now), used up all my balance from 3 different banks.
All because of a fucking online casino, which brought me the illusion that I could improve my life and the life of my family, which is not going well financially. The fact that I turned $100 into $1500 on my first deposit gave me a LOT of hope. Greed made me not withdraw the money: "I'll try to earn a little more, I don't need that money now", I said. And I stayed in this cycle
From today I will avoid gambling with all my might. I'm sure I can do it, I trust my willpower a lot. But I regret not having made this decision before I had a debt that will take more than 1 year to pay off. Now I'm trying to think where I'm going to get money to pay for my subway ticket and food to go to college, which I've been missing for 3 days now. This is making me depressed. I haven't been able to eat properly for 1 week because of sadness
Anyway, just expressing myself with a secondary account so I don't expose myself too much. I don't know how people here react to this type of post. And sorry for any typos, I didn't checked it.

I got lucky today. They ended the project, I was an integral part of this week and today they told me that they will end my contract in 5 weeks. Since I do not need the money and only extended the contract to see what happens to the project in the first place - just personal research you know - I would have ended the contract right on the spot, but who am I to tell them what to do. I was not allowed to during the project and so it quickly turned into a death march almost right after we started. So lets get paid some more for the cruelty that is todays software development where you have all the responsibilities and no authority along with getting some lies served ice cold over and over again... .
I do not want to bore you with a too much detailed update but let me mention some key points:

What has happend since the last update?:
* I trained a certain family of setups which mostly play themselves out around 11:00 till 12:15. Since it is not sanctioned by the Wiki (it is aiming at price corrections), I can not post most of my trades in the reddit live chat.
* I continued to integrate the content of the Wiki into my main knowledge collection but not having much time the last weeks I am still not finished.
* I started to study the articles and the ebook of oneoption one sentence at a time while turning those into maps and diagrams. Once I am done I will merge those with my main knowledge base as I did with the Wiki.
* I collected more and more RealDayTrading articles I want to read and mine for gold but again barely having any time and priority it is hard to catch up and get ahead of the ever growing list of articles to read.
* I started to watch the complete catalog of both Hari's and Pete's Youtube videos. Great stuff but also time consuming as I take a lot of screenshots and notes. I also pay attention to the small things and especially the used language (instantly liked the L+/- and U+/- notion!).
* I still do stupid stuff as expectable but my hatred towards Trading View grew substantially. My whole workflow is sometimes a mess thanks to something being wrong with multi layout multi tab setups and loading and saving those dynamically. (Maybe using the desktop version would help?)
* I have founded my Tradier account after it got suspended.
* I got used to OSP and love the scanners. Wish I would have get it early (Tradier's account approval process took its time as I missed an email and their UI was not telling me about anything being at miss).
* I incooperated TradeXChange news and since enjoy the morning and after market wrap up along with the live news. The UI is dated and the full text search in broken. I will most likely downgrade the subscription level thou as I do not get live wire working but before I will try once more and ask support.
* I still do not stalk the live chats (reddit and oneoption) just to not get into the game of copy trades and to see if I can make it on my own.
Plan for the next 5 weeks (before being freed from wage slavery once again):
* I want to read the option related book promoted by the Wiki to slowly build up the necessary knowledge to get into options some months down the line, I also want to visit the option knowledge outlined in the Wiki and oneoption and extend my main knowledge base. Also Pete's and Harí's videos will continue to add to this as well.
* I will focus on my own software I created based on my data subscription with Nasdaq. I collected 140+ days worth of data and want to automate most of the things I do to analyze my setups and trades. Goal is to run my own extended live scanners, annotate charts my Alpaca orders, draw trend lines and functional components and more importantly to use these annotations to compile statistics. The final goal is to support research and actual trading decision making along with replacing Trading View and TC2000 in my current workflow.
* I want to do at least two trades daily between 11:15 and 12:15 just to have a practical component. Those again will most likely not be sanctioned by the Wiki and therefore will not be published. It is just to keep my routine of reading news, earnings, analyzing and predicting the market movements, select some stocks and do some trading alive and well. I just want to maintain being aware of each day's market movements.
* I want to daily spend 1-2 hours on studying and learning along with extending my notes. This also includes 2-4 hours each weekend day.
For the three months of full time training and studying
* I want to trade the full spectrum of the setups that the Wiki advices for, along with what else I myself am comfortable with. At this point I will publish the trades that are sanctioned by the Wiki either in form of a weekly journal and/or in the live reddit chat to make me open for being ridiculed and also to keep me aware and honest.
* I will further improve my software and my statistics.
* The goal is to really get all the (statistical and actual) data that I need to trust what I do to be beneficial allowing me to do what I do without doubt and hesitation.
* I will reduce my study time to only take place during the weekends.
* I will focus on my trading routine which will include proper sleep cycles, relaxation habits, journaling and reviewing.
* I plan to play the whole trading day (morning, lunch and afternoon) but excluding the first 30min and last 15min.
* I will start paper trading swing trades.
* I might fully transition to 1k positions once I have proven that my win rate remains to be stable within the first 6 weeks.
* I will try to do some research projects on the weekend including having a look into financial and options related data.
After the three months:
* If I can clearly see a way to further improvements including the money making part, I will add another three months worth of my savings to full time training and trading. If not I will secure myself another 6 month contract.
* I will decide if I will continue to subscribe to TotalView data or replace it with a cheaper but less detailed market data offering.

I’m new to rover and trying out a sitter who charged slightly below average for my area which I consider low anyways but considering it was my first time I didn’t want to break the bank and leave room to tip generously.
The sitter is asking me to pay for each walk completed during the dog sitting days and then left my dog attended more than 4 hours.
I checked their profile again and their rates were about 4-5x higher so I don’t know if they are trying to scam me or what at this point.
Is it normal for dog sitters to charge extra for walks during dog sitting? Just normal 20-40 min walks 2-3 times a day?

Traveller! One of the grand dads of the RPG industry. You get a space ship, you have to pay down its mortage. And you have to traveller. Wanna do some trading? Yea. Wanna explore odd places? Yea. Do you ever dream of playing a middle age person, just decide to up end their life, get in a space ship and try that for a while? Yea!Will trade provide enough money to pay for your goals and the ship? Better start taking on odd jobs.
Oh no, those odd jobs have gotten you all into a delicate and deep web of adventure.
Traveller at its base level, is a space adventure and trade game. Similar to games to like Elite. Its inspired shows such as Firefly and games such as Bethesda upcoming Starfield. You make a character with a life path system. Operate a space ship. Try to trade to get rich. And hopefully the adventures dont ruin you finicially.
This is a sandbox Traveller game, restricted to 4 sub sectors around Mora. Each player is encourage to set up their own goals. As the PC traveller through the area, they'll start forming freindships and flesh out planets and sophonts living there.
Why restrict the area of play? Well some games can claim a very large playable areas, most games dont come close to how big Traveller is.
The defualt setting that Mongoose uses is Third Imperium in year 1105. The Thid Imperium alone has over 15k solar systems. Each of them named, many of them having a wikia entry on them.
Travellermap.com and just zoom out. Its a big place. And if you continue to zoom out, you'll see how how small it is compared to Milky Way. To see where the game is taking place, there is a seach box. Type in Mora. They'll be a planet with that name in the Mora subsector.
Beyond the nearly weekly adventure per planet, there will also be a larger storyline that can be followed and be explored and played through. And I hope to really get to know the characters and players. The Traveller by its nature is a large world, and Players and GM will be jointly helping to make and fill out NPCs.
There are number factions already formed at play, to help give players the type of experience they want. Space pirates? We got space pirates. Want to do social intrigue? There are 4 Noble families all bickering with themselves trying to one up and covet each other holding. Wanna go military? Half of my team quit last year. The management, which never has any contingency plans, finally realized that the few remaining employees weren't enough to handle the workload, so they had the brilliant idea to put us in another team hoping that the new team would be able to help with the work. But new team is busy with their own work as well.
To avoid hiring locally, the company looked to outsourcing. I'm now working with teams in India - I feel bad for the Indian teams because they're paid peanuts for the amount of work they do. Plus, their quality of work isn't great and the turnover rate is high (who could blame them?). Sadly, working with these teams means extra work for me.
I've been grossly unhappy and burned out at this job since last November. It pays above average and is a fully remote role, but I can't stand management's bullshit anymore. Their value of prioritizing profits over quality of work is going to backfire one day. The current team also did and said a bunch of borderline unethical/unprofessional stuff, which I'm ready to tell at my exit interview with hr.
I have a list of action items to make life hell for them after I served my notice. Don't plan to find a full time job right away because all the jobs I've worked for are shitty so far and I'm not ready to hop into another crappy one. Idk maybe take my time working my part time gig and studying to change my career.
