2023.04.01 13:25 michael_scarn_21 Boston Launches Landlord Appreciation Awards

April 1, 2023. Boston, MA.
The Boston Landlords Association today announced the launch of its new award ceremony to improve morale among local landlords who feel their reputation has suffered during the city's housing crisis. The marketing manager of the association Meaghan Morose expected competition to be tough. "We have have world class landlords in the port city," she gushed. "Fineberg, Alpha Management, all these companies that make renting in Boston so great and we want to recognize them". The award for the inaugural ceremony are as follows.
  1. Most pet friendly. Boston renters have found rats, mice, cockroaches and even racoons sharing their apartment and out of concern for animal welfare, local landlords often let them stay there for long periods of time. This award will go to the landlord whose properties have the most impressive animal menagerie.
  2. Most impressive eviction. Many landlords claim it's too hard to get an eviction in MA and this award recognizes their efforts. Innovative strategies such as not turning on air conditioning until September and having "spare change guy" sing outside the window of recalcitrant tenants are to be encouraged.
  3. Best fiction award. This award rewards the most ambitious property descriptions such as describing Andrew Square as super popular with young families or describing a place on the edge of Arlington as "just steps from downtown". Brokers are also eligible for this award as they often come up with the best stuff.
  4. Best NIMBY award. By describing decrepit gas stations as "full of local character" and opposing three storey new housing as skyscrapers landlords are able to fight new house building and keep local rents sky high. This award recognizes the often unseen contribution of landlord self interest in opposing new housing.

2023.04.01 13:22 Particular-Hat-4634 Graco Extend2Fit on an Airplane

I tried to research if other parents used the Graco Extend2Fit on a plane before and I found 2 old posts that were inconclusive. So I thought I’d share my experience in hopes of helping any other parents researching and wondering! We used this car seat on a round trip United flight and it worked so well. I was concerned the car seat would be too big but it fit well. We didn’t even have to put the arm rests up, they fit just below the drink holders. I’m a bigger lady too, and it didn’t seem to cramp my space at all. My 16 month old was able to see out of the window well and it was a good experience. It was a pretty quick install for my husband. One con is we did do rear facing, and when you do that, it blocks anyone in the seat in front of you from reclining their chair. Nobody seemed to attempt to, thankfully. We were on about a 3 hour flight.
We did buy one of those car seat dollys from Amazon, with the intention we would put our toddler in it to walk through the airport instead of bringing a stroller. We were renting a stroller at the place we were staying, and didn’t want the extra item to deal with. We ended up not having him in the car seat while walking through the airport. My husband held him most of the time and we let him walk when we had time. Because just getting to and through security is a lot of moving parts so by the time you get past security it’s not that bad to just hold him or let him walk. But the dolly helped regardless for transporting the car seat easily throughout the airport.
So all this to say, I was so happy with our experience. So if you have this car seat and our wondering, wonder no more! Use it! It works out well. It’s nice he got to use his really comfy car seat and we saved a few bucks not buying another cheaper car seat for travel. I recommend a car seat dolly to transport your car seat through the airport and possibly use to transport your toddler if you don’t want to carry them!

2023.04.01 13:22 godomainers1 How a domain broker will help you acquire your desired domain

In this digital age, almost everyone owns a website. It has become essential for businesses to have their own website just to establish their presence in the marketplace. Now, the issue is that almost everyone has a website. How do you stand out in the crowd? Another important issue is that most of the classy or attractive names are already taken. Not to mention the fact that the majority of the population has never even dealt with the hassles of registering their own website. Therefore, not only do people find it difficult to register domains but also get scammed sometimes as well.
In order to avoid such issues we have mediators in the form of domain brokers.

What are domain brokers?

Let us break it down for you with a real-life example. Have you ever tried to buy, rent or lease or sell a house? If yes, then you probably know it is not too easy to find an ideal property or buyer. To get one we often use the services of a real estate agent and for a fee they help us find the ideal property or buyer, right? Well, it is the same for domain brokers except for the fact that they deal with domain names and websites instead of properties.

Why should I hire a domain broker?

It’s cost-effective

Getting domain broker services saves you a lot of money. One may ask how exactly they would do that. The answer is most of the legitimate domain brokers have been in the game for a long time and now have a solid grip on the market. Moreover, they are aware of all the significant events going down in the domain industry. So basically they are able to guide you regarding the best domains which could be suitable for you and be cost-effective at the same time. Or in case you wish to purchase a premium domain name they know exactly how much it is probably worth so the negotiation will go a lot smoother if they handle it and chances are you could acquire your desired domain for a bargain.

Saves you a lot of time

One of the main reasons people hire domain brokers is they don’t have the time or the patience to go through the rigorous process of registering a domain. When you hire domain brokers, you save yourself from spending weeks and weeks researching, negotiating, and filling out paperwork for acquiring a domain name.
It’s not only that you’re saving yourself from spending that much time buying a domain. Rather when you get domain broker services you’re making the entire process of acquiring a particular domain very fast compared to when you do it yourself.

Protects you from scams or fraud

The best domain brokers have been around long enough to be aware of which people are genuine sellers and which ones are scammers. Moreover, even if they do get scammed, that's not on you. That is what you are paying for, to be protected from all the hassles and frauds. It’s not limited to that, they also conduct thorough background checks like the ownership history and see how the website used to look at different periods of time using various tools to ensure that the website wasn’t used for illicit purposes in the past. This is why it is recommended to hire the best domain brokers out there.

Conclusion

Getting domain broker services simply saves you from a lot of headaches. Not only do they do your work but also protect you from getting scammed. Moreover, most of the reputed domain brokers have a large collection of domain names that way you get what you want almost every time.

2023.04.01 13:18 mittenclaw Freelancer, looking at renting a coworking space, would be tax deductable but expensive, is it worth it?

I’m freelance as a designer and usually work from home but it’s becoming impossible/intolerable as I don’t have a dedicated space. I’m looking at renting a desk space, and even though it’s tax deductible as I need this for my business, it’s quite expensive.
But, is that a moot point, because I’ll be “getting the money back” eventually in the form of tax I won’t be paying? I find it hard to get my head around the whole tax deductible thing, people say it’s not free money but it seems like it. Is it just that it’s money lost that I could in theory have invested between now and when the tax bill is paid?
Any help much appreciated.

2023.04.01 13:17 Fair_Wrongdoer_310 What is a reasonable salary range for entry-level role in a well-established engineering company?

Basically the title. I want to know what's the range I can negotiate for an entry role in hardware development, embedded systems etc. I don't know the living standards and expenses there. Recent increase in price and rent has made it difficult to trust old internet surveys.
The location is not Paris. Let's assume that the rent is around 600 euros/month for a room in that area.

2023.04.01 13:16 Jiale88996 How to Get Comprehensive Coverage Car Insurance Discounts

How to Get Comprehensive Coverage Car Insurance Discounts
Most of us have to purchase proof of insurance to drive on our state’s roads. That’s a fact, each year our premiums increase, and that’s a real pain for our financial balance. So how can get discounts for our comprehensive coverage policy?
Getting discounts for your comprehensive coverage is not that hard, just apply for them, you will probably be qualified for
In this article, we'll explain what comprehensive coverage is, how it differs from other types of car insurance, and how you can take advantage of discounts to get the best coverage at the right cost.

What is Comprehensive Coverage?

Comprehensive coverage is a coverage option that will protect your car against non-collison damages. Most lenders will request you to add it along with collision coverage. As said before, comprehensive coverage will protect your car against theft, vandalism, natural disasters, animal-related damages, among others.

What Does Comprehensive Coverage Include?

Comprehensive coverage includes a lot of possible dangers to your vehicle, that are the following :

Theft Coverage

If your car is stolen, comprehensive coverage will provide you a certain amount of money to rent a car up to 30 days until your car investigation is on progress. Once the investigation conclude, this coverage option will cover the damages caused by the thet. For example, the robber broke a window to enter your car, your comprehensive coverage will cover that broken window and other damaged parts by the theft.

Vandalism Coverage

Imagine your ex-spouse wants revenge and vandalizes your car, breaking your car’s windshield, scratching all your car’s body, and setting fire inside your car. So all of that will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.

Natural Disasters Coverage

Comprehensive coverage protects your car agaisnt natural disasters. Imagine you live in Florida, the Sunshine State is also known and the place where hurricanes happens the most. So if you live in Florida (hurricanes), California (wildfires, earthquakes), Michigan (floods) or Oklahoma (Tornadoes), you will definitely need comprehensive coverage for your vehicle.

Falling Objects Coverage

If your car is damaged by a falling object, such as a tree branch, a rock or debris, comprehensive coverage will pay for the damages. This coverage is especially useful if you park your car under trees or near construction sites.

Animal Damage Coverage

If your car is damaged by an animal, such as hitting a deer or rodensts bite your car’s electrical wires, comprehensive coverage will pay for the damages. This coverage is important if you live in an area with a high population of wildlife like Pennsylvania.

How Does Comprehensive Coverage Differ From Other Types of Car Insurance?

Comprehensive coverage differs from other types of car insurance, such as liability and collision coverage, in that it covers a non-collision damages. Liability coverage pays for damages you cause to other people and their property but won’t cover the damages to your vehicle, while collision coverage pays for damages to your car in case of a collision with another car or object regardless who is at fault.

How Can You Save Money on Comprehensive Coverage?

I know, comprehensive coverage is expensive, but not as expensive as colliision coverage. You still have many ways to save money on your comprehensive coverage premiums:

Bundling Discounts

Let’s say you collect classic cars, and as you already know, comprehensive coverage is a must for your babies. So one of the best ways to save money on your car insurnace is just bundling all your car insurance into a single policy or, you can bundle your renter’s or homeowner’s policy, this way you may obtain up to 25% discount depending on your car insurer. Here are some possible discounts you can obtain from bundling your policies:

  • Multi-vehicle discount
  • Multi policy discount

Safety Features Discounts

If your vehicle has safety features such as anti-lock brakes, airbags, or a dash cam, you may be qualified for a discount on your comprehensive coverage. Under your car insurer’s point of view, the more safe you drive and the less likley your car is going to suffer an accident, the more money you will save. Here are some possible discounts you can obtain from adding safety devices on your car:

  • Anti-lock brakes discount
  • Anti-theft system discount
  • Daytime Running lights discount
  • New vehicle discount

Good Driver Discounts

As you may know, if you’re a good driver, and you’ve not suffered any accident, not getting any traffic fine or other violations, you will be qualified to get this discount on your comprehensive coverage. Insurance companies reward safe drivers who are less likely to file a claim. Here are some possible discounts you can obtain from being a good driver:

  • Five-year accident-free good driver discount
  • Seat belt use discount

Low Mileage Discounts

If you don't drive your car often or for long distances, you may apply and be qualified for a low mileage discount on your comprehensive coverage. Car insurers will consider you are less exposed to the risks of the road, so you will be rewarded for this.

Payment discoutns

If you pay your entire annual premium upfront instead of in monthly installments, you wil get this discount on your comprehensive coverage. Insurance companies prefer customers who pay in full because it reduces their administrative costs. Note: you can also get additional discoutns from setting autopay as payment method. Other sort of discounts you can add comes about early renewal. Here are some possible payment method dicscounts available from most car insurers:

  • Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) discount
  • Paperless discount
  • Pay-in-full
  • Online quote discount
  • Early renewal discount

Student Discounts

If you're a student with good grades, you may be eligible for a discount on your comprehensive coverage. Insurance companies consider students with good grades to be responsible and less risky when driving. Here are some possible discounts you can obtain from being a good student:

  • Driver’s education discount
  • Defensive driving discount
  • Good student discount

Military Discounts

If you're a member of the military or a veteran, you may be qualified for this discount on your comprehensive coverage. Many insurance companies offer discounts to military personnel as a thank you for their service to the country.

Affiliation Discounts

If you're a member of a professional organization or alumni association, you may be eligible for a discount on your comprehensive coverage. Many insurance companies offer affiliation discounts to members of certain groups as a way to attract new customers. Here are some possible discounts you can obtain from being part of any affiliation group:

  • Membership and employee discount
  • Federal employee discount
  • Emergency deployment discount
  • AARP member discount

Conclusion

Comprehensive coverage is a must when you ask for a loan, lenders will request you this along with collision coverage. That’s the reason why you must look for any discount you can take to lower your premiums. I know, you may think if you combine all discounts, your car insurer should pay you instead you pay them. We all know that won’t be case, but at least you will pay less for your comprehensive coverage.

2023.04.01 13:16 Cakeeye [REQ] ($340) - (#Honolulu, Hawaii, USA), (4/14/2023), (Cashapp, Venmo)

So I never ask for help, ever, but this stressing me out a bit. Rent was due march 31, as in yesterday. Now, I work 2 jobs and then Instacart on my free time, job 1 in the morning, Instacart, then job 2, depends on how I feel, I'll instacart again after job 2 till I'm tired. I got paid today, cool, was a few hundred short. I got off work and decided to grind the rest of the night doing instacart, I got 5 hours left in the night, I can do it. Drove 40 minutes to the store, started doing the order, then realized my keys weren't in my pocket. Ran out the store to find it locked in the car lol. Cancelled the Instacart order, lost a bit a cash there, Call the locksmith, charged 168 out of pocket, set me back more, and now it's 12:23 and no more Instacart orders.. if anyone can help me, I'd very much appreciate it!

2023.04.01 13:14 Troublemaster89 Landlord increased rent by 35% on last day of lease renewal.

I leased my current condo (downtown Toronto) exactly a year ago today and my landlord called me yesterday (Mar 31st) telling me he is increasing the rent from next month by 35% and has given me a week to decide. Is there anything I can do - as this is really short notice and an exorbitant hike in rent? My building is not rent controlled. Looking for suggestions to negotiate this situation.

2023.04.01 13:13 rinachii What else can I invest in for the future?

Hi — so I figured my best shot would be to get a general consensus from the community for “what’s next” if I’m missing anything.
25/F, single, own a home, just bought a new car not too long ago, both are on loans — house with a 3.185% loan and car on a 3.2% loan. The house is being rented, so I’m only putting my payment every month on it to pay it off. The car is a $500 payment a month which I can afford on my income.
Got approximately 5k as an emergency fund. I’ll likely put in another 5k within the next few weeks to be on the safe side.
My 401k (split between as a Roth and Trad) is almost maxed for the year. Almost at 100k overall with my retirement accounts at the moment (woo hoo, giving myself a month off to backpack through Asia with friends).
I travel for work, so half of my earnings are stipends and the other half is taxed. I pay about $1900 in rent; same as my house payment.
Due to maxing out my retirement account, I just want to check in and make sure of the following —
Aside from my Roth IRA (which I may make a traditional just to lower my taxable income), are there any other investment mediums I can use to lower my taxable income?
I know I’ll have to look into insurance soon enough since I’ll be kicked off my parent’s insurance and I want to get private insurance that would allow for an HSA so I can put more money into that, but aside from this, is there any other investment vehicles I should be using?
Admittedly, I don’t have a lot in a brokerage account for stocks currently, I’ve got about 1k in there and want to plan out for the rest of the year. I was considering CDs but I’ve heard I should inly utilize those if I won’t need the money in the future, but I’m hoping I can buy a second house to have rented out eventually.
What else can I do at this point aside from buying stocks? Or is there nothing else out there?
Bonus question — does it make more sense to stick to a job where my income is non taxable but will always force me to move around with variance in pay is going to be a thing or to eventually move into a more stable job where all of my income is taxable and growth + gradual increases (example: scenario A: I make 100k, but 50k is taxable, scenario B: I make 200k, and all of it is taxable)
Hope someone gets back to me about what to do, thanks in advance!

2023.04.01 13:11 helpme3578 Employer Provided Housing

I don't want to provide too many details because anonymity is important here and I fear retaliation, but I will try to explain the situation the best I can.
I rent a house from my employer that shares a lot with the business. I act as the after hours person there. I am on call 24/7. My housing is dependent upon my employment there. As such we don't legally have a landlord/ tenant relationship and if I were to be fired I must vacate the premises in 24 hours.
At first I was getting a very fair deal on rent, but over the years my rent has been raised to the point that I don't have much left over after paying it. It is now well over 50% of my income even though my rent is still under market value for a comparable house in the area.
At this point the situation is starting to feel exploitative. I am starting to fall behind on rent payments and other bills, both of which I used to be able to easily afford.
I am just wondering what rights I have in this situation and if there are limits on how much rent they can charge me versus how much money I earn. I just want to be able to protect my rights in case the situation gets worse. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Co-Working Spaces Is Essential For Your Success. Read This To Find Out Why
For a good reason, co-working spaces have become increasingly popular in recent years. These workspaces offer a unique and flexible solution for businesses of all sizes, providing various benefits that can help drive success. In this blog post, we'll explore why co-working spaces are essential for your success, with a focus on co-working spaces in Delhi.

co-working spaces
First and foremost, flexible spaces offer a cost-effective solution for businesses. Rather than investing in expensive office space, businesses can rent a workspace in a co-working facility for a fraction of the cost. This can be especially helpful for startups and small businesses, which may not have the resources to invest in their own workspace.
In addition to being cost-effective, co-working spaces offer a range of amenities that can help drive success. These amenities include high-speed internet, printing and scanning services, conference rooms, and more. By providing these amenities, co-working spaces can help businesses focus on their core activities and avoid the distractions and expenses associated with setting up and maintaining their own office. Workspace also offers flexibility in terms of lease length and office space size. This means businesses can scale up or down as needed, depending on their business needs. This flexibility is particularly valuable for businesses that experience fluctuations in demand or growth.
One of the biggest advantages of Workspace is the networking opportunities they provide. Office spaces bring together individuals and businesses from a range of industries and backgrounds, creating opportunities for collaboration, partnerships, and networking. This can be especially helpful for startups and small businesses that are looking to expand their networks and reach new customers.
Finally, the workspace offers a professional image for businesses. With modern and well-equipped facilities, businesses can impress clients and stakeholders with their workspace. This can help build credibility and trust, which can be critical for long-term success.
In conclusion, co-working spaces are essential for businesses of all sizes and industries. They offer a cost-effective solution, a range of amenities, flexibility, networking opportunities, and a professional image. If you're looking for co-working spaces in Delhi, there are plenty of options available, so be sure to do your research and find the space that's right for your business.

2023.04.01 13:01 some_dude83 Question regarding witnessing a crime

Hello Friends,Non-German (immigrant) here. About 6 months ago in the evening someone had crashed his rented e-scooter in a parked car outside my apartment - This resulted in the rear windshield of the car broken. The person who rode the e-scooter ran away. I heard the noise and saw from my window and saw a guy running at some distance and realised what had happened.
I waited for the owner to arrive and no one came - As I remember, the next morning I saw a kid collecting the e-scooter and the owner of the car came much later to see a hole in thewindshield. I explained to them what had happened and they asked me if I can tell the police what I had witnessed and I said yes.
I got a letter recently asking for what happened and summon from the police for identification of the criminal. I wrote an explanation to the letter stating that I cannot not identify the person who did this nor have any details about the e-scooter(registration details etc) other than the fact that it was rented. I also went to the police office and told them that I cannot identify the person who did this.I am not sure how could I have gotten the registration details of the e-scooter? All I happen to see was witness someone running at a distance from my apartment.I want to know what Ideally should have done in this case?
Now thinking about the scenario, Should I have collected the details of the e-scooter details or called the police right away?

2023.04.01 12:59 Educational-Run1186 How to get out of the tenancy agreement?

Hello, I am currently in university-owned accommodation in England. Before moving into halls I signed an agreement stating unless there's a reasonable explanation, if you move out but continue studying at the uni you are liable for the rent until the end of the agreement. I have paid all due payments up until April 22nd which Im attempting to pull out from.
Any advice on getting out of my tenancy agreement? I have a few valid reasons for wanting to leave:
First, my flat received a few fines of £50 due to one individual's mess. This individual then dropped out so he avoided this fine even though he was responsible.
Secondly, one of my flatmates and bestfriends in uni attempted suicide which is awful, unfortunately, I was the one to find the body.
Thirdly, I have spent £40 on cleaning supplies for the black mould growth in my room, but it keeps coming back. Black mould can have really harmful effects on anyone.
And finally, the main reason I need to get out of my rent agreement is that as a student I simply don't have enough money to pay for the (massively overpriced, disastrous) uni accommodation as well as new accommodation.
I must move out for the sake of both my mental and physical health.
I have put this all in an email to the housing services but have repeatedly been hit with ' you're liable until tenancy agreement ends ' however I was also told they'd give me the funds on the mould products I purchased, and that they completely understand my reasonings and are sorry I felt that way. Surely if they understand, they will let me out of the agreement so I can seek other accommodation?

2023.04.01 12:57 Boring40something TW intimate partner suicide, kids. Explanation below needs and payment methods

Seeking $20 for gas, sanitary items and some cheap food for myself and kids. Tampons are an emergency as I’ve almost depleted our toilet paper and paper towels. Food would also be super helpful because i just literally haven’t been eating until our food stamps gets approved so the kids can have enough. Hunger sucks and is painful.
I’d also appreciate any donations towards the $225 I need to prevent eviction due to missing Dec/Jan rent.

I was pointed to a couple of these groups by someone who reached out via the suicide bereavement sun. The condensed version is, I am a newly single mom of two after my fiancé completed suicide this winter. Unbeknownst to me until he passed we were behind a couple months on rent, he had spiraled pretty hard and it just blew up. I’ve worked with every church and community action agency as well as donated plasma, had an appt with DHS for food stamps and such, started working at dollar general and McDonald’s in my town to get my hours up. It just isn’t enough. The property manager is a sweet person but has given me all the time she can. Monday eviction will be filed so I’m trying to work on figuring out what’s next for us or where we can go, and how we can avoid surrendering our cats to the animal shelter as it’s high kill. I can’t afford to move or start over a lease, I can maintain but I can’t catch up. I’m working as hard and as much as I can but it just isn’t enough. Thank you for reading all this if you did.
This is cross posted on another subreddit for the sake of being open.

2023.04.01 12:56 Davincier Thailand + Cambodia itinerary

Hi all,
I had an earlier post asking for advice on historical sites to visit. From that I've set up what I think is a feasible itinerary, focusing on history. Any final advice? I've only booked my flight to Bangkok so everything else is still open. Where there's an overlapping day between destinations I consider it a travel day, so I'll plan nothing but getting from one place to another. I've done full day drives/24 hour bus rides before so that's not a big deal for me as long as it's actually doable, but as far as I've seen in my planning none of the journeys will take that long.
Bangkok 25 nov - 1 dec with an Ayutthuya daytrip, for the rest its all open. I don't get flight sick so I have no need for recovery, but I imagine the city has enough to see. After this all the inland steps are using mainly trains, and else the bus. From Chiang Mai to Bangkok will be by plane
Phetchaburi 1 - 3 Mainly for the temples, maybe a short walk among the beach but I don't really care for that
Kanchanaburi 3- 5 For the WW2 history
Sukhothai 5- 8. I'll use Sukhothai as a base, and after seeing the ruins there spend one of the days there daytripping to Kamphaeng Phet as it's only a few hours. If possibly I have time left over I'll rent a cab to a more northern ruin site mentioned in my other post but I'm not counting on it. I'll leave with the bus to Phitsanulok. Research tells me there's an evening train, so I have some time to see the smaller temples there.
Chiang mai 8 dec - 13 With Chiang rai daytrip, and a Doi Inthanon daytrip. Most advice I saw mentioned taking it slow up there, so that's what I'll end up doing. In the off chance that this is not enough to fill my days there, I saw there were daytrips available to the more northern Chinese influenced villages
Bangkok 13 - 15 dec. Only place planes leave for Cambodia in this period I saw. I don't want to risk missing a flight with a self transfer after all I heard with delays, so I'll take a break day there before moving on
Siem Reap 15 dec - 19 dec Angkor Wat etc Pnomh Penh 19 dec - 22 genocide museum, killings fields etc. I imagine you all will have less advice for these steps, but if you got any tips feel free!

2023.04.01 12:56 bullettears Stuck in a contract with a nightmare live-in landlord, help!

Hi everyone,
I (24F) need help ASAP. Two weeks ago I moved into my landlord's (38F) home as a lodger. I'd paid four months rent upfront as the housing market is crazy right now and she'd said she had a lot of interest in the room. The rental agreement was such that any remaining amount paid upfront would be returned to me should either party terminate the agreement, with one month's notice.
Four days after I'd moved into the property, she served me notice. This was after I'd spent hours securing a second-hand wardrobe off Facebook marketplace to match the furniture she already had in the room (I'm not joking, it is literally the exact same as the wardrobes already in the room), and paying a 100 quid for it. I was obviously shocked as I had just started to settle in.
Her reasoning was that she needed money urgently for her aunt's surgery, and her ex-husband had offered to pay the full amount in return for his friend living there. Tearfully, she cried to me that she wanted to live with me, a lodger she had picked over many others, and not her ex-husband’s friend who she knew nothing about. I felt badly for her and offered to pay the remainder of the year’s rent upfront so she could use it for her aunt’s surgery. At this point, she had been super sweet so I asked for a fixed term contract of one year, but she agreed to a 4 months notice period instead.
After paying the years rent of 6000 pounds, on top of the 3000 pounds I had already paid, her demeanour completely changed the next day. So far, she has: - Restricted me to using the kitchen only for 10 minutes at a time - Has come in multiple times within those short periods of time to wipe water droplets on the sink from the utensils I’d washed, making me feel extremely uncomfortable even just making a smoothie - Shouted and screamed at me repeatedly. One of these instances was for a time at 2 am where I had been startled by her cat as I had gone to the washroom without my spectacles, and I couldn’t see clearly. She screamed at me not to mistreat her pets when all I had done was let out a startled “Aah”, to which she screamed “OI”, came running out of her room, and screamed at me for apparently screaming at her pets. - Left her dog’s poop in the kitchen (I have pictures), along with uncovered bowls of cat food that stunk up the whole property – she'd not told me she would be doing this when I came to view the property. - Has thrown an ice cube at me. I was making a smoothie and an ice cube had fallen on the floor. She threw the ice cube at me. - Has physically pushed me out of the kitchen - Has called me an ‘idiot’ and a ’silly silly little girl’ - Has threatened me multiple times over using the common facilities by using the terms “I am the landlord” and “I own this house” - Has told me to clear out a kitchen cupboard she previously said I could use
She has served me notice for being antisocial towards her today (I had told her to stop shouting at me). I had given her verbal notice earlier this morning because of the cat incident at 2 am but she emailed me saying I'd breached the contract for being antisocial and that was the reason she was evicting me.
Either way I want to move out, but I want to move out earlier than the 4 months notice period, in fact as soon as possible, and recover the rent paid for the 4 month notice period. I really think she is trying to drive me out of the house earlier than the 4 months notice period because her behaviour changed so suddenly after I transferred her the year’s rent. I have asked her to reduce the notice period length as she clearly does not want me in the house, but she insists that the notice period is 4 months. I have even been crashing with friends because being here makes me so uncomfortable. Does anyone have any advice?

TW intimate partner suicide, kids. Explanation below needs.
Seeking $20 for gas, sanitary items and some cheap food for myself and kids. The tampons are an emergency, tmi, I’ve almost depleted our toilet paper and paper towels. I’d like to get some cheap foods at the dollar tree if possible. We’ve applied for food stamps but I just haven’t had enough for me to eat too the past few days, every dollar is going into surviving and the kids being fed.
I’d also appreciate any donations towards the $225 I need to prevent eviction due to missing Dec/Jan rent.

Anything at all helps. I do plan to post this in the mutual aid sub too for the sake of being open and honest. Will update if I’m lucky enough to get funded!
