I'm a Filipino Intl. Student recently accepted into Aeronautical Engineering Technology, but am wavering on taking the offer because I'm wondering if it might not be as advantageous as I would hope for future career prospects.
In the Philippines, it seems as though opportunities for it are only really for A&Ps, given that there's not much of an aerospace field here, but I wanted to do things more on engineering technology work, especially so that my degree doesn't end up just being the same as if I just went to a trade school. To be clear, I'm not objecting to A&P openings - but for me, the degree (and the much greater expense with it) isn't worth it if it doesn't have any opportunities beyond that for me.
I don't know how feasible it is as an international student to get work in the U.S or anywhere else, especially as getting a work visa for international students is going to be difficult, or impossible. I've heard a lot about AAE international students, and Aerospace Engineering intl. students in general struggling with getting hired at companies abroad, especially because of defense/security risks, and I'm worried that this extends to AET.
Can anyone shed some light on this? I know it's kind of a vague question, but any advice about this or insights from anyone would be really useful.

I'm so tired. I get I'm extra tired and going through stuff but I need my sleep. I'm having a stupid meltdown because my brain is so tired. Every morning man. Either scratching on the bed or making some other loud ass noise. I sleep with a fan on for me and so I can't hear every sound so if it makes it over the fans sound then it's real loud. I will never get rid of them but I need advice or help. I'm so tired. I had a job at 3am-7am for about a year and haven't worked there since November. Theybstoll try to wake me up no matter what time get they get fed or how much. We can't lock them out because we have a cat who will sit and paw at the door for hours

- Everyone just accepting a new fashion something a baron's daughter bring in. How can they become trendsetters so easily? Would people just question it? These girls rank very low after all! I don't see how high-ranking aristocrats can accept someone lower than them that fast.
- Too much sword-fighting: In certain stories, noblemen have to be good at swords to become the head of the family. Also, is sword-fighting the only form of physical exercise here?! Want to be slim? Sword-fighting! Want to make yourself look interesting to powerful men? Sword-fighting!
- Spending money - male versus female: Gosh the bashing of other ladies. If women spend money like they would typically do they are evil, if men buy the entire stores for their lovers they are generous saints.
- Work: All nobles do is paperwork. What do you write so much? Don't you have meetings and inspections? They would always shut themselves inside their office and would somehow still maintain their impossibly huge political power and influence. Also, where are the assistants and counselors? I don't see how there is only that overworked aide and very funny here, a butler.
- Princes having the power to somehow exile people whenever they want. Bullying their lover when they are still in an engagement? Exiled! Accidentally connected to someone who poses a threat to their lover? Exiled! Banishment is a huge deal, and I don't think a mere prince is allowed to do that legally.
- Social events: There is a manhwa in which the FL says that balls and tea parties are "political battlefields" as noblewomen do not participate in politics. How do they fight? They humiliate the FL publicly with gossips, hide chairs so that when the FL come, she can't sit, talk shit about the FL openly in front of her, etc. Considering this is prevalent among OIs, I will include spilling wine, invite FLs to tea parties and then ignore her to make her feel lonely, etc. Gosh. These are the most overused, petty tricks ever. This is no women doing political stuff; it is just petty bullying. The only purpose of this is to then show off FLs in front of characters we will never see again. Also, this just ruins the value of tea parties and balls. Aren't they supposed to be events where people can just hang out? Even if the events are positive, they will be about FLs showing off her newest inventions or ladies praising her to the sky.
- Hunting competitions: Purpose is to show off FL/ML. The winner receives a flower to gift someone they love. They don't serve real purposes unless plot is deliberately inserted.
- No order of succession: It is always the survival of the fittest. Only purpose is to create drama. And then they will go to the point that you have to kill all your siblings to become the monarch.
- Bastard children: Illegitimate children rising to the throne, yeah yeah. They are given the same rights as the legitimate, yeah yeah. I don't dislike this one as much though.
- Wrong titles: I know this is mainly translation but still: king - your highness, non-sovereign duke - your highness, prince - your majesty, duke's daughter - princess.
- Royals losing titles: Princesses lose titles when they marry the peers, princes do it when they become of age and are already not the heir to the throne. I feel bitter about the princesses though. Princess>>>duchess/marchioness/countess/viscountess/baroness so how do they lose their title? And then it will become a plot point for the princess to lose privileges/get assassinated/lose political power etc.
- Palace: empress and their children living in separate palaces as if this is in an Asian setting. If you want to switch to the Western style then just completely cut off all Asian elements.
- Marriage: princes marrying a commonebaron's daughter and everyone just agrees?! Aren't they supposed to marry someone higher, like foreign princesses? This is the setting in which absolute monarchy rules. Monarchy wants to retain foreign relations and benefit greatly, monarchy then sets up marriages with other monarchies. Even the idea of princes marrying a duke's daughter is quite strange already; like, OI's nobility is so overrated/overvalued.
Honorable mentions:
- Evil temple: And we find out the pope is a secret human traffickeuses illegal methods to help the evil prince rise to the throne/etc. I very pray for a truly nice temple/church.
- Master of the magic tower: I always find this to be funny and unnecessary. I guess it is just me.
This is only my opinion:)))

In the Bible, there is a story about Jesus visiting a temple. In the story, Jesus finds people trading in the church and he drives them out. Many take this action as Jesus' condemnation of price-gouging and corrupt business practices, and undoubtedly this is partly true. But notice Jesus' particular offence at turning "My Father's house into a market" (v. 16).
It is very clear from this story that Jesus does not approve of people monetizing Christianity, and strongly opposes any church that places value on materialistic items over his teachings.
So how does HeGetsUs, a massive marketing campaign that is blowing through millions in donations that could’ve been used to help the less fortunate, politicizing religion, and trying to suck up as much money as possible fall into this picture? Well it’s pretty obvious that all of the faults Jesus found in the temple are 100% present in the HeGetsUs organization, but have now been dialed up to 11.
This is a sick, scummy organization that, despite its possibly non-profit status, is trying to monetize a religion that is (at its very core) a condemnation of such actions. Does anyone else see the irony?

This Bill was written by His Grace the Right Honourable Sir Sephronar KG KCT GBE LVO PC MP MSP FRS, the 1st Duke of Hampshire, 1st Marquess of St Ives, 1st Earl of St Erth, 1st Baron of Truro as a Private Members Bill.
Opening Speech:
Mr Deputy Speaker,
Members of this esteemed House, the Devolution of powers to the proud people of Cornwall has been a great ambition of mine for many years now - devolution of services, of fiscal autonomy, and of a proper democratic voice. I initially drafted this Bill in 2015, taking quite a different form then - albeit with similar aims. So I am pleased today to reintroduce this Bill to this House. I have worked hard to get this right for weeks, and we hope that we can rely on this House’s support to help it become law.
But first, please humour me in allowing me to give you a brief lesson in Cornish history - The area now known as Cornwall was first inhabited in the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods. It continued to be occupied by Neolithic and then by Bronze-Age people. The first written account of Cornwall comes from the 1st-century BC Sicilian Greek historian Diodorus Siculus, supposedly quoting or paraphrasing the 4th-century BCE geographer Pytheas, who had sailed to Britain:
The inhabitants of that part of Britain called Belerion (or Land's End) from their intercourse with foreign merchants, are civilised in their manner of life. They prepare the tin, working very carefully the earth in which it is produced ... Here then the merchants buy the tin from the natives and carry it over to Gaul, and after travelling overland for about thirty days, they finally bring their loads on horses to the mouth of the Rhône. From the Roman occupation until the 4th Century CE, to the split from Wessex in 577 AD - we have always had a proud sense of national identity. The name appears in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle in 891 as On Corn walum. In the Domesday Book it was referred to as Cornualia and in c. 1198 as Cornwal. Other names for the county include a latinisation of the name as Cornubia (first appears in a mid-9th-century deed purporting to be a copy of one dating from c. 705), and as Cornugallia in 1086. The 1508 Charter implicitly recognised Cornwall's ancient elected Stannary Parliament and accepted its right to veto English law that was prejudicial to the interests of the tin-mining Cornish people - who comprised much of the local population at the time - and to their heirs and successors in perpetuity. By including this veto in the 1508 Charter, the English monarchy was, in effect, guaranteeing a substantial degree of control over Cornish affairs to the Stannary Parliament. Indeed, in 1977, the British government acknowledged that recognition of the Stannary Parliament and its right of veto has never been withdrawn. Cornwall County Council commissioned a Mori poll in 2003 which showed 55% of Cornish people in favour of a democratically elected, fully devolved regional assembly for Cornwall. The people want this to happen, and we are elected to represent the people - who are we to deny them their freedom? Malta, with only 400,000 people, is an independent state within the EU. Why not Cornwall?
My point is that Cornwall has never simply just been a ‘part of England’, our Celtic nature has always stood strong and prevails to this day - although I understand that our biggest hurdle now is convincing many of you who rather see us remain under the overlordship of England. However I implore you to reconsider this position, and give us the freedom to decide our own destiny - as we do with Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Allied with this economic impoverishment has been the centralisation and transfer out of Cornwall of decision-making institutions and government offices – together with the skilled jobs they entail – to various undemocratic and faceless south-west England regional quangos, which are run by unelected, unaccountable London appointees. Westminster's frequent concern for poverty and under-development in the north-east of England is not replicated when it comes to the relative lack of state resources earmarked to tackle deprivation in Cornwall. Successive London governments have shown little respect for distant Cornwall, or its people, identity, history or culture. It is a far away place about which they know little and about which they seem to care even less. How else can the decades and centuries of neglect be explained?
Please, give us a chance to decide our own fates.

I'm pretty bored of pretty much everything. Even people I use to enjoy, I find it all pointless. I use to enjoy gaining new knowledge and understanding how the world or universe works but its all so damn futile. When I watch two people have a debate and even if I side with one person in the debate, I'm still thinking about how dumb the debate is and how it doesn't matter. You're still here to suffer and waste away no matter how intelligent you are or how right you are. But it isn't just debates that bore me, I can't find the point in anything in life anymore. Why do I want to play a video game? To stroke my ego? To fill in blank gaps? To mask anxiety? Doesn't matter.

A while I'd watched the video from the Templin Institute about the revamped First Order and New Republic, as well as their extensive worldbuilding behind it. Link: https://www.reddit.com/saltierthancrait/comments/n6gdrm/the_first_order_reimagined_star_wars_much_bette However, while it's a good take, I do feel that they are still constrained by the requirements to follow the general plot of the Sequel Trilogy. Hence I would like to have a more radical reimagining of the whole situation.

• The First Order Arguably the one part I will revamp the most, as their origin from the "ashes of the Empire" were too far fetched. The Templin Institute addressed these issues with some extra lore, it does not take away the fact that it's still too overpowered. Hence, the First Order here shall be more of an insurgent guerrilla group that used fearmongering and operating beneath the shadows to further their goals of restoring the Empire.

They are mainly scattered across the galaxy, but united by their extremist ideology. Their modus operandi is summarised by one single word: Fear. Fearmongering through the Holonet to spread their course is arguably how they got insanely strong, preying on the people (particularly those in the impoverished outer rim populace, xenophobes as well as people nostalgic to the Empire) through propaganda, media. I drew inspirations through modern Neo-Nazis, Terrorists (like ISIS and Taliban) and even cults like AUM Shinrikyo.
Military wise, many of the higher commanders were ex-Imperial Military personnel as well as Intelligence officers, even COMPNOR Officers too. They knew with their lack of resources, they can still wage a different form of war that wasn't through direct military attacks, but through infiltration, terrorist assaults (for example: a suicide bombing on Coruscant), assassination of key New Republic officials, etc. All on the goal to sow chaos and bring instability to the New Republic and preparing their downfall so they can take over. They also had a network of proxies for their job, which combined with their scattered nature makes them hard to single out.
This time, they won't have stormtroopers, but they also had a lot of ex-Imperial equipment such as firearms, explosives lying around as well as stuff like starfighters and ships. However, they just used their limited resources to wage the most fear among the populace, which will be spread even further through the Holonet.
Their leader was well, a mysterious force user who was said to be once part of Palpatine's Dark Side Inner Circle (I was inspired by figures like Cronal and Kadann from Legends, as well as some bit of Sate Pestage). He had a unique group of Force-wielding assassins known as the "Knights of Ren". They are actively hunting for force users to be integrated into their cult-like group. Inspirations could be also taken from the Legends Empire Reborn as well as the Dark Empire.

• Resistance It's quite similar to the Sequel Variant of the Resistance but with some tweaks. The full name shall be Task Force 1138 "The Resistance", led by the prestigious General Han Solo under direct authorisation of New Republic Chief of State Leia Organa Solo.

The New Republic was aware of the Forst Order spreading dissent. While having a relatively strong and established military, calling a military action and bomb the hell out of First Order strongholds in planets like Jakku will portray them in an authoritarian light, so they decided to adapt to fighting those insurgents with a special counter-insurgency group led by the person who had the best knowledge of these shady fields. The Resistance were provided with ample resources, such as V-Wing Airspeeders (for CAS and COIN) and multi-role X-Wings, but also having access to a modified Mon Calamari Battlecruiser, Raddus as their flagship as well as Intelligence-gathering servers around the Galaxy, including the New Republic Intelligence HQ on Coruscant. Their challenges were to fight a warfare that was unique to their situation while continuing to uphold freedom, democracy and peace.
The whole nature of the battle would be similar to the Global War on Terror against factions like ISIS and Taliban. Interestingly, I would also include some unlikely allies for the Resistance, such as the Imperial Remnant and the Empire of the Hand. There is also some political intrigue within it as some New Republic senators and Imperial Remnant Moffs backed the First Order indirectly for their own gains.
I would like any opinion on the premise, as well as how the new characters, such as Rey, Finn, Poe and Rose coupd be revamped to fit in such a premise. (particularly the latter trio as they are squandered to hell)
P.S. I didn't mention Luke Skywalker. He's busy with his New Jedi Order. But feel free to churn out ideas for it.

So, I think I would upload it on Ao3. I have to admit that I barely read any fanfics, so I do not know a lot about how they are supposed to be. The story is based on a theory I had, back when the series was not finished. So it is not much in canon, because a lot of the theory was proven to be wrong, when the series went further. Would it still be okay to write it? If so, what category would it be? Thank you.

I wasn’t serious about cycling until a few years ago when I started crit racing after moving to Austin, TX. For the uninitiated, the riding scene here is unparalleled. Me and the boys could go head to head with the best crit meatbags in the country and win from the breakaway with 38 mm thicksliccs and flat bars. Just come race cat 5s at the driveway and find out. We’re all putting in 5 hour training weeks and absolutely shredding the bike delivery market.
Anyway, when I first started riding seriously, I wanted to go BIG, but I knew I had to get my nutrition dialed if I was going to go the distance (🤣🤣🤣). My goal was to ride TWO HOURS uninterrupted on the road bike. I know this seems unrealistic, but hear me out: I come from a long line of athletes who have always been a bit…unhinged when it comes to physical activity (🤣🤣🤣). My dad recently ran 10k in 50 minutes, and my mom does Pilates once a week. Trust me when I say it runs in the family.
So in preparation for my race, I consulted my bro who races on the delivery scene with me in Austin. He told me it wasn’t going to be possible without bringing A LOT of food. I was taken aback because I’ve never carried much food with me on the bike, how would I succeed with three sandwiches strapped to my top tube (🤣🤣🤣)? He said, no bro, you carry sugar supplements called GUs, let me show you.
He took me to Mellow Johnny’s and showed me the Gu wall. If youve never been, the Gu wall is a 15 ft x 15 ft wall covered in GU GEAR at Mellow J’s, the only bike shop in Austin that I know of. The reflective packages, shimmering like fishing lures, immediately had me hooked (🤣🤣🤣). I said, wow bro, what’s the right flavor choice for me? He responded, I like the consistency of vanilla kind, it’s kind of like a sweet cream that you just wanna slurp down by the gallon, you know? I like to squirt it on my face sometimes, too. I said, wow really? That’s hardcore, enough said bro. I then bought 60 of the vanilla flavor.
Fast forward two weeks to the day of the race: we’re sitting at the east side Target (our usual pre-ride hangout spot) and I’m insanely nervous. My whole family is there to send me off and they all have signs saying “Go Drew, beat cancer!” (My name is drew and I told them it was for fighting cancer or something). My jersey pockets are loaded to the brim with vanilla gu and I set off, feeling nervous but confident.
Thirty minutes into the race, ive gone 4 miles and my heat rate is JACKED up to 195. I’m pushing big watts and sweating profusely. People on the sidewalks are looking at my Gu-stuffed jersey in awe as it bounces lustily with each pedal stroke. I’ve already had 15 of the 40 GUs I was intending to consume over the course of the ride, but now I’m wondering if I brought enough.
By the time I make it to an hour and forty five minutes, my Gu stash I nearly depleted and I only have 5 left. But as I nervously squeezed one of the few remaining bags into my face hole, something happened. Some of the Gu squirted out onto my bibs and top tube and I was immediately incapacitated by a primal sexual urge. The milky syrup awakened something in me that I didn’t know was there, and my life was forever changed. I had to pull over 4 times after that (🤣🤣🤣) but was eventually able to cumplete the race (6 hours total time) by adhering strictly to my nutrition strategy. When I got back to Target, my family congratulated me on beating cancer (🤣🤣🤣idiots) and my mom gave me a ride to the Corazon where I live.
Six months later and vanilla Gu is 100% of my diet and my preferred lubricant for my chain and other things. Next time you’re in Mellow Johnnys, go over to the Gu wall and pick up 30 or 40 of the vanillas, you won’t be disappointed!!!

They’re out for the night, my sibling is staying with a friend. 99% of my belongings are at the flat i’ll be living in now. The rest is about to be loaded into my car. I’m 18.
I am stealing photographs from albums of my long gone grandparents, images of my sibling, pictures of my mom&dad with meas a baby, when it looked like they loved me.
It just feels surreal to have felt so trapped and know that tomorrow i’ll be waking up in a place they can’t find me. I’ve left a note. all it says it i’ve left, and not to worry. i can’t bring myself to say more.
But it’s bittersweet because although i know i’ll be so much better living with people who actually care about me, i still love my parents. Unfortunately. I don’t really know how to take the rest of this post, just that I’m a bit scared to be living the rest of my life without guidance. I’ll try to manage.

Luckily I am safe now. When i tried to talk 5o friend or family they look at me as a victim and cry and feel so bad for me I cant be honest and share what happened. Maybe its someone who also has survived something and would like to heal or just someone who is understanding amd able to talk about serious and scary things

I will be starting a new job on July 17 and Hybrid setup naman but during training is RTO for 1-3 mos.
According to the HR, free parking daw sa bldg nila and 2:00PM-11:00PM yung shift ko, ano masasabi nyo? Traffic ba sa Makati ng ganitong oras? For sure yung uwian ko is smooth na sa traffic, how about yung 2:00PM, kung aalis ako ng bahay ng 12:00PM.

I 21 f am currently working a b2b sales job, that has given me the opportunity to grow. Friday I got incredibly lucky and suddenly clients started closing in on deals I didn’t even call them for. They received my mails and started asking for quotes and offers. I wanted to see if I could push my luck just by believing in it. Saturday suddenly my dads friend bought me jewels. I really want to continue my streak of luck and I am upping the levels by including Reddit.
I am a biological women and have no intention of ever changing genders. I did whoever come up with the name Emre as my alias for this journey. I will update you guys on whether or not anything is drastically changing.
As for how life is currently going: 1. My girl best friend is getting engaged 2. My guy best friend and me are enjoying ourselves 3. My parents are divorced and working crazy hours while my brother is getting his drivers licenses 4. Both my sisters have boyfriends, one of which gave her a car for her birthday
I love songwriting, if only I had Adele’s voice... In a few weeks I am going on vacation with my dad, and I am trying to find some new interest.

for context, i am 17 years old, queer (assigned-male-at-birth and feminine [You may refer me to any as You prefer; boy, girl, transfem/transgirl, femboy, etc. i just don't prefer asking people to refer me to something]), and filipino
when i was 15, it was my first time being available and going to the relationship-seeking realm, just for the not good reason of having a reason or someone to live for because i was really depressed, it was all online because i can't find anyone near me because i am queer, i am deprived from physical and social availability, my location, and it's really my only option i think. it turned out the opposite than i wished of finding someone and just made my situation much worse, it made me traumatised, felt a lot of heartbreaks from infatuation and love bombing, been taken advantaged of, did not know much about dating and seeking relationships, and stuff like that. when i was in my early 16 i stopped, and with that life has been a bit better for me, i improved overall as a person and my studies
with that of my experience, it is a factor (maybe somehow) of why i am scared of going back being available again:

1. the traumatic and horrendous experience as mentioned
   
2. as a queer person, it's hard to find in physically plus my not-much location, therefore if i were to go available again, it would be online, and online is pretty risky
   
3. as a queer person again, the dating world here is very scarce, more on hook-up culture and casualties, non-commitment, and about high standards especially looks. many of the people here often only looks for pleasures and beauty standards is very much emphasized
   
4. adding to being queer and it's emphasis on conventional beauty, as an assigned-male-at-birth and feminine, beauty standards is very much emphasized too to people like us, they want someone who posses extremely feminine features, aryan features, looking as a girl, and being conventionally beautiful, and as to my observation, the ones who posses more of these qualities will always be more chosen than the lesser counterparts. and people who often look for people like us just very much sexualize us and wants us for pleasure, and just wants us for that
   

i am contemplating whether i should open myself again at mid-17 or when i am 18 (right now, pretty much at 18), but with that is a small part of me has a bit of a side-fear and also maybe a bit of trauma too with my past experience, but i know it may go away and be fine

I just got a set of heat pumps installed and I am very happy with them.
I want to use them as efficiently as possible - so I am NOT using the auto function to switch constantly between heating and cooling.
However, in my climate it can be very hot in the day and quite cold at night - the temperature varies sometimes as much as 20C.
How do I run my heat pumps efficiently if I need to use cooling during the day and heating at night?
I know they recommend to set and forget the temperature - but does that include always keeping it on heat mode or cool mode?
