2023.05.29 17:32 quincyfps What seasoning do y’all use to give flavor to your meals.

What seasoning do y’all use to season your food with. This has been the most difficult thing for me. Adding flavor to my meals. When you start reading labels you realize almost all of the contain either onions, garlic or wheat. Even those that i would of never thought of contain one or more fructan items in them and for me personally salt and pepper don’t give it enough flavor. Any suggestions?

2023.05.29 17:23 MarionberryMedical62 Is it even worth it to do NP school or should I just do PA?

I’m already a nurse working in the OR but have some experience in adult icu, LTC, and L&D. I want to move up in the medical field and NP would be the obvious choice, however, surgery interests me. NP schools don’t actually have rotations in surgery like PA school does. I also hear horrible things about the NP education system with diploma mills and the education just not being up to par.
I honestly don’t think i’d feel comfortable becoming a NP with fewer clinical hours than what is required in PA school. I’m kind of at a loss of what to do. I don’t necessarily want to specialize yet either despite loving surgery. I like the mobility a PA has. I could work inpatient or outpatient as one.
And yes i could do RNFA and then NP or just do the rnfa, however, it’s still limited in job prospects because these usually end up being PAs anyway. With my ideas in mind, would I be better off in a PA program?

VANCOUVER, BC / THENEWSWIRE / May 25, 2023 – Element 79 Gold Corp. (CSE:ELEM) (OTC:ELMGF) (FSE: 7YS) ("Element 79 Gold", the "Company") announces that, further to its November 17, 2022 release, the Company has entered into an Asset Purchase Agreement (the "Agreement") for the sale of two properties from its Battle Mountain Portfolio located in the gold mining district of northeastern Nevada, US to a subsidiary of Centra Mining Ltd. ("Centra").
Under the terms of the Agreement, Centra has agreed to purchase all of Element79 Gold's interests and obligations in relation to the Long Peak Project ("Long Peak") and the Stargo Project ("Stargo") in exchange for a total consideration of CAD 1,000,000 payable by the issuance of an aggregate of 2,500,000 common shares of Centra at a deemed price of CAD 0.40 per share (the “Payment Shares”). The transaction is expected to close on or before June 30, 2023, and is subject to regulatory approval.
"The sale of Long Peak and Stargo to Centra marks another milestone in Element79's journey for the strategic development of its high-grade gold assets," commented James Tworek, CEO of Element79. "Centra realizes that these projects have great exploration potential along with the rest of their portfolio and it will be exciting to see what their near-term development plans are. We are excited to maintain our exposure to the very promising development potential of these properties through our equity participation in Centra."
Tworek added, “We have been working at the sale of the non-core assets in the Battle Mountain for over a year now, and it feels great to confirm that we have one package of properties now signed up and pending their closing date. This achievement further helps to highlight the currently-unrealized value of the individual properties in the Battle Mountain portfolio, helping to re-envision a benchmark for corporate valuation and enabling us to unlock additional value from our extensive portfolio of prospective properties while increasing Element79 Gold’s focus, energy and capital flows on developing its flagship Maverick Springs and both defining a resource at and bringing production online at Lucero in 2024.”
Element79 Gold’s Battle Mountain Portfolio
The Battle Mountain Portfolio was originally comprised of 15 separate projects totaling over 44,478 acres across 2,203 unpatented claims in five counties: Elko County, Eureka County, Humboldt County, Lander County, and Nye County. Most of the Battle Mountain Portfolio is located within the Battle Mountain Trend, with several projects close to globally reputable gold deposits including Nevada Gold's Cortez Mine.
The Battle Mountain Portfolio is comprised primarily of early-stage projects. While drilling has been completed at some projects, such as Elder Creek (155 holes) and Clover (104 holes), many have only surface sampling and geophysical surveys completed. Of particular note are the Long Peak, Elephant, Elder Creek, North Mill Creek, Clipper, Pipeline South, West Cortez, and Walti Projects, which are interpreted to lie along the northwest trending fault that hosts the high-grade Pipeline deposit, which is included in Nevada Gold's Cortez Mine.

The Long Peak Project
Long Peak is comprised of 34 unpatented claims located near Copper Basin and the Copper Canyon Mine in Lander County, Nevada. Long Peak hosts significant historic prospects, warranting further exploration at Long Peak.
The Stargo Project
Stargo is comprised of 337 unpatented claims located south of the Battle Mountain Trend in Nye County, Nevada. The large claim block contains attractive host rocks, tertiary age intrusives, and appropriate aged structural preparation to represent an attractive area for exploration target development.
About Element79 Gold
Element79 Gold is a mining company focused on gold, silver and associated metals and committed to maximizing shareholder value through responsible mining practices and sustainable development of its projects. Element79 Gold's main focus is on two core properties: developing its previously-producing, high-grade gold and silver mine, the Lucero project located in Arequipa, Peru, with the intent to bring it back into production in the near term; and its flagship Maverick Springs Project located in the famous gold mining district of northeastern Nevada, USA, between the Elko and White Pine Counties. Maverick Springs hosts a 43-101-compliant, pit-constrained mineral resource estimate reflecting an inferred resource of 3.71 million ounces of gold equivalent "AuEq" at a grade of 0.92 g/t AuEq (0.34 g/t Au and 43.4 g/t Ag) with an effective date of October 19, 2022. The acquisition of the Maverick Springs Project also included a portfolio of 15 properties along the Battle Mountain trend in Nevada, which are non-core to its primary business focus. In British Columbia, Element79 Gold has executed a Letter of Intent and funded a drilling program to acquire a private company that holds the option to 100% interest of the Snowbird High-Grade Gold Project, which consists of 10 mineral claims located in Central British Columbia, approximately 20km west of Fort St. James. The Company also has an option to acquire a 100% interest in the Dale Property, 90 unpatented mining claims located approximately 100 km southwest of Timmins, Ontario, Canada in the Timmins Mining Division, Dale Township. The Company is analyzing the non-core Nevada projects, The Dale Property and Snowbird Property for further merit of exploration, sale or spin-out.

Duck confit
Somewhere in this mass of water and pottery weights is my attempt at duck confit, 68c (155f) for 30 hours (https://www.seriouseats.com/sous-vide-duck-confit-recipe). I forgot to take before pictures but I used salt, pepper, garlic and thyme. It's only my 3rd attempt at sous vide but I saw a cheap whole duck at the supermarket and couldn't resist.
On a side note does anyone know where I can get a lid for the Cambro 12qt in the UK?

Will this wreck my foundation?
Bought a pneumatic nailer to fasten Platon board to my CMU block wall foundation for waterproofing. Tested it on a spare cinder block and this happened. Am I crazy to now try this on my actual foundation? Is there a better way to fasten the dimple board (construction adhesive and tacaulking maybe)? Google tells me that there is a difference between garden variety cinder blocks and actual CMUs for foundations, so my next best idea was to buy a proper foundation block to test it on - But all I can seem to find are run of the mill cinder blocks 🤷‍♂️

2023.05.29 16:43 This_Bother585 What is the difference?

I'm trying to read about the philosophy of mathematics. I am confused in the following part of the book. What is the difference in defining this equation as tautological or informative? So what will change in our conclusion?
''According to nominalists such as Stuart Mill's father, James Mill, Hobbes and Condillac, who deny the existence of numbers, 2 + 1 is the definition of 3. With these ideas, these thinkers, prioritizing Russell and his followers, claimed that the equation 2 + 1 = 3 is a tautology. S. Mill opposed these views. According to Mill, 2+1 is an informative equation, not a tautology, and it shows us that a triple can be divided into two groups, odd and even (Hersh, 1997: 196).''

2023.05.29 16:00 Bobby32x Salt water noob

Hello. I just concerted to saltwater. I plumbed in the generator and added the salt needed. This is my first time opening a saltwater pool and my coworker swears by dumping 5 gallons of liquid chlorine in. Us this step necessary? Any tips on water management? I read something about "pepper"? Not actual table pepper, it's a chemical used to give longevity to the cell, or something like that. But like, algaecide? Any info would be appreciated

Basic BBQ Sauce Recipe

BBQ sauce is more than just a condiment; it’s a key ingredient that elevates the taste of grilled and smoked meats to mouthwatering levels. Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue, attending a cookout, or simply craving some finger-licking goodness, BBQ sauce is an essential companion for meat lovers. In this blog post, we’ll delve into the fascinating world of BBQ sauce, exploring its history, regional variations, and tips for creating your own tantalizing concoctions.
The Origins and Evolution: The roots of BBQ sauce can be traced back to ancient civilizations, where early cooks discovered the magical combination of tangy, sweet, and smoky flavors. Over time, BBQ sauce evolved across continents, influenced by various culinary traditions. From the vinegar-based sauces of the American South to the tomato-based sauces of the Midwest and the mustard-based sauces of the Carolinas, each region developed its own unique spin on BBQ sauce, showcasing the diversity of flavors in the world of barbecue.
The Essential Ingredients: While there are countless variations of BBQ sauce, several key ingredients remain common. Tomato-based sauces often feature ketchup or tomato paste as a base, providing a rich and tangy flavor. Sweetness is achieved with ingredients like brown sugar, molasses, honey, or maple syrup. To add depth and complexity, spices such as smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper are incorporated. The choice of vinegar, whether apple cider, white vinegar, or a combination, brings a necessary acidity that balances the sweetness.
Regional Delights: Exploring the regional variations of BBQ sauce is like embarking on a delicious journey across the United States. In Kansas City, a thick, sweet, and smoky sauce reigns supreme, perfect for slathering on ribs or brisket. Head to the Carolinas, and you’ll find tangy, mustard-based sauces that add a zing to pulled pork. In Memphis, the emphasis is on a thin, tangy, and slightly spicy sauce that beautifully complements smoked meats. And in Texas, a bold, peppery, and tomato-based sauce complements the rich flavors of beef. Each region brings its own flair, providing a delightful array of BBQ sauce experiences.
Creating Your Own Signature Sauce: While regional sauces are beloved classics, there’s nothing stopping you from experimenting and creating your own signature BBQ sauce. Start with a base of ketchup, tomato sauce, or even fruit preserves. Add sweetness with honey, brown sugar, or maple syrup, adjusting the amount to your taste. Play with various spices, such as cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, or even chipotle powder, to add depth and heat. Don’t forget the tangy element—apple cider vinegar, white vinegar, or Worcestershire sauce can provide that much-needed acidity. The joy of making your own BBQ sauce lies in the ability to tailor it to your personal preferences.
The Versatility of BBQ Sauce: BBQ sauce is not limited to slathering on grilled meats alone. It can be used as a marinade, a basting sauce, or a dipping sauce. Brush it on chicken wings, ribs, or burgers during the grilling process for a delicious caramelized glaze. Use it as a dipping sauce for crispy french fries or as a condiment for sandwiches. The versatility of BBQ sauce knows no bounds, allowing you to explore its many applications in your culinary adventures.
BBQ sauce is an integral part of the barbecue experience, with its diverse range of flavors and regional variations. It has the power to transform ordinary grilled meats into extraordinary culinary delights. Whether you prefer a sweet and smoky Kansas City-style sauce or a tangy and mustard-based Carolina creation, the world of BBQ sauce offers endless possibilities for tantalizing your taste buds. So, grab your spatula, fire up the grill, and dive into the realm of BBQ sauce—a journey that promises deliciousness at every turn.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, and molasses. Mix well to combine.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt to the sauce. Stir to incorporate all the spices.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking or burning.
  5. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if needed. If you prefer a sweeter sauce, you can add more brown sugar or molasses. For a tangier flavor, add a little more vinegar or Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool down completely.
  7. Once cooled, transfer the BBQ sauce to a jar or airtight container. It can be refrigerated for up to two weeks.
This basic BBQ sauce can be used as a marinade, basting sauce, or dipping sauce for grilled or smoked meats. Feel free to customize the recipe by adding your favorite spices or ingredients to make it your own!

2023.05.29 15:52 sheepster_full In S4E2, Sally says to Barry...

"I feel safe with you."
My question is this: Does she still feel safe with him in the finale?
I loved the timeskip in the finale (let's just say its another 8 years, John is in HS) and how it showed how much Sally has grown and how she hasn't. She effortlessly turned down her colleague's advances. He even seemed like a decent enough guy, but you could tell she was not at all comfortable and wanted nothing to do with him. I liked how he had salt and pepper hair too, just like the man Sally killed that haunted her all season.
Her following interaction with John still shows she craves that kind of validation. She didn't say 'I love you back' and instead asks for praise on her work. At least she's choosy about who she gets her male validation from! Baby steps is still growth.
I've seen some discussion of her car ride home, some people thinking she's missing Barry. This, coupled with John's seeming sense of pride in his father after watching the movie, seems to give some credence that Barry 'won' in the end, or is in a sense redeemed. Personally, I don't see Sally missing Barry at all in her new life, just like how she completely separated from her last abusive partner Sam. The shot of her looking at her flowers read to me as pride in her work, if anything.
However, this morning I thought of that moment when Sally visits Barry in jail, and says this rather haunting line. If what Sally says to Barry remains true throughout the whole season, timeskips and all, I think it puts her car ride home scene in a new light.
What are your thoughts? Do you think, in some horrible way, that Sally still only feels safe with Barry, even after 16 years?
