What I want… Someone who can balance staying in with going out who isn’t into the night club scene but more into social gatherings such as game nights, dinnefood parties, fire pit get togethers, a night out for trivia or bingo, going to listen to live music, staying in or going out to movies, is okay with giving and receiving affection, enjoys food, coffee, dogs (I have two), someone who can tolerate my hobbies of house plants and fish aquariums, someone who enjoys video gaming (switch and PC) and someone who doesn’t mind day trips to random new restaurants/cafes/coffee shops/bakeries. Also, it helps if you can cook and can help counterbalance my messy tendencies. It’d be nice to find someone who likes camping, hiking and will workout with me. That’s why a lot of attention is directed towards the numbers on the odometer. If it’s too high, the vehicle costs way less. This has forced the sellers to find a way around it. Consequently, they have turned to mileage-related tools. It’s important to know whether it’s possible to remove mileage from all control units or not. Let’s dig deeper, figure out what these tools are capable of and how they are connected to control units.

WHAT ARE THE CONTROL UNITS?

Control units have turned into vital components of any vehicle. They are central systems that control and manage the operation of the processor or other parts of the car. THE TYPES OF CONTROL UNITS

Be it the mileage, fuel control, engine control, or any other function of the vehicle – they all operate with the help of Electronic Control Units (ECUs). Therefore, there are many types of these computers. They have smaller tasks to perform, but they have to communicate with one another.
Engine control, transmission control, suspension control, body control module, and telematics control – are the modules that are commonly used in the modern automobile industry. There are other control units such as electronic control of braking systems, roof and cruise control, electronic door control, and so on. However, the most important one for this discussion is the Engine Control Unit.
The engine control unit is in charge of (you guessed it) the engine. It’s a computerized system that manages the fuel injection and oversees the overall functionality of the engine. However, that’s not the only thing it does. Once it collects the data, it then transmits it to the processor. The latter is capable of reading the information, but it can also record it. The same thing happens with the mileage. The engine control unit reads the information about the mileage and records it in its system. In a world where odometer fraud is so widespread, it’s crucial to know where and how the mileage is stored.

ALU (ARITHMETIC LOGIC UNIT) VS CU (CONTROL UNIT)

Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) is one of the main components of modern computing. It’s the circuit that is in charge of interpreting and processing the data it receives. It deals with mathematical calculations that are needed to perform various actions. This unit must have interminable access to random access memory (RAM). Its input and output are designed in a way that guarantees the continual flow of information.
ALU receives the data i.e. operation code, which tells it what to do and how. After that, this unit can start performing its main functions: arithmetic, logical, or bit-shifting operations. In brief, ALU is one of the passages that are in charge of interpreting the data and drawing logical conclusions.
The control unit, on the contrary, is the vital component of the computer processor. It’s the brain behind various operations as it gives instructions to other parts of the system. It guarantees communication between software and hardware. It communicates with memory, as well as input and output devices to make sure they know how to perform various operations.
ALU control unit is an integral part of the CU. It gets directions from the control unit and performs accordingly. To put it simply, you should think of them as the “part” (ALU) and “whole” (CU). ALU depends on the instructions from CU. It can’t operate without them.

WHAT IS THE CONNECTION BETWEEN CONTROL UNITS AND MILEAGE?

This is possible with the help of the CAN (controller-area networking), which is one of the standards manufacturers use in modern vehicles. It transmits data rather quickly, which means it’s an efficient approach to communications.
The information flows interminably between the dashboard and the CAN bus system. Therefore, the CPU control unit can store important data about the car. This means that the odometer isn’t the only part of the car which has information about the mileage. If you were to use the mileage rollback tool, you’d be able to change data on the odometer, yet you wouldn’t be able to correct it in the CPU unit. It would create discrepancies, which are easy to check with diagnostic testers.
We might think that mileage is simply a number on the odometer, but it’s not. We should never forget that modern technology relies on various computers, be it control units or various tools. Back when cars used analog systems, rolling back the mileage was a piece of cake.

I'm working a tech job in a corporate company. Recently, my supervisor (A) had to go on a medical leave due to a medical emergency he had. As far as I know, he has been hospitalized intermittently in the month, and has been prescribed bed rest/rest due to his medical situation. I've been taking care of the team in his absence and doing a fairly good job.
The issue is, I had initially planned to apply for sabbatical in June as I was planning to start my Masters. But due to personal/financial circumstances, I had to defer by six months, so the sabbatical is on hold.
But the thing is, I have been in this project for a year and I have hated every minute of it. The working hours are long, we have been asked to cover for another team and we have been basically doing the work of two teams for the past 9 months. My team-mates and I are tired all the time, we do not have most of the weekends off due to the added workload, we are regularly having mental breakdowns due to the work. I'm genuinely scared I will end up like my supervisor, bed-ridden and sick with thousands in medical bills. I discussed with my family and they have advised me to quit my job (which means I would have to work for another 3 months as my notice period is such) and take some time off before joining my Masters program.
I am planning to talk to A and our manager, once A is back from medical leave. But I am worried since A is in a precarious condition and I don't want to stress him out again.
I cannot talk to A about this, before taking it up with our manager as A had not informed our manager that we were basically doing the work of two teams. I "accidentally" brought it up with our manager once he went on leave, and he has not spoken to me since. I heard from my other teammates that he is very unhappy about my actions and has said that I "can't handle the pressure of being a supervisor".

Management is very - aggressive. The loud, barking announcements about the food on the lawn every 15 mins isn’t very relaxing. Yesterday (opening day) was particularly bad.
The manager walking around looking for people eating in the grass to yell at, glancing in people’s bags when she can.
She yelled at a family for eating in the grass and then as she walked away mumbled “Welcome to our pool” in a super b*tchy tone which seemed unnecessary (she was being very sarcastic).
Anyone else think it’s a little overkill? Everyone around us was laughing about it. But like - you have a fun job lady. If you don’t like it, quit?

When I saw the movie I couldn't help but think it was embodying this sub.
Am * ricans think they're the center of the world get put back in their place. The French are arrogant so people hate that main Frenchie, but in the end France is still the central place of the movie. Sp * niards only work when everybody already did 95% of the job, G*rmans are druggies clubbing like they've got something to forget or SM addicts that talk like Groot, and finally Balkans are religiously alcoholics.
For the end it also conforms to French traditions, with the trademarked "you live in a golden palace you lose your head" tradition.

For context:
I (20 f) and my best friend (21 m) used to date. We were friends for about 6 months before we started dating. One day we smoked some weed as teenagers do (I was 14 at the time and he was 15) and one thing lead to another and he asked me out. We dated for 4 years in high school, from the time i was a freshman until a few months after my graduation. Our relationship was very rocky. We both cheated on each other, caused drama, purposely pissed each other off. I cant count the amount of times we broke up and got back together. During the last year of our relationship, we had both fallen completely out of love for each other. We agreed to break up and go our separate ways. We agreed to remain friends but that lasted about a week before one final argument broke out. I blocked him. I had him blocked for about 6 months.
Fast forward, it’s his birthday. His mother (who he tries to avoid as she is extremely toxic and a drug addict) contacted me. She pleaded for me to text him for her and tell him that she loves him and wishes the best for him. Apparently, she did not know we had broken up 6 months prior. Reluctantly, I unblock him and send him the text. We begin to text occasionally. Then we exchange socials again. Then we start hanging out. Everything seems to be going great! We were always best friends. Even when we struggled to be good partners to each other, our deep bond of friendship never went away. It was never weird or awkward. Our friends never teased us about it, nor our family. We only hung out maybe once or twice a month, and it’s not like we were texting each other all of the time. It was a very casual friendship. We have been friends since the break up for just over a year.
This past weekend has been super warm out, and we were both aching to get out of the house. He texted me and said “hey do you want to go to dinner on sunday?” I didn’t think anything of it since we hadn’t gone out to lunch or dinner in about a month or two (and we always went strictly as friends). I agreed and asked him if he wanted to swim at the beach with me later today. he said yes, great! so we get to the beach and have a blast. We down a couple shots and relax in the sun, taking turns telling each other about our lives. He turns to me and says “If i make more money then you at my job, will you marry me?” Thinking he was joking, I said “really that’s the proposal, I always told you what kind of ring I wanted it.” a few conversations later and he brings it up again. This time he says he’s serious. While we were dating he never had a job and i was always the breadwinner so i guess he thinks that not being lazy will win me back. Anyways, I ask him what he’s on about and he essentially told me that he still loves me and that he always will, and that i’m the only girl he could ever see falling in love with. Completely shocked, i didn’t know what to say. I genuinely had no idea that he was still romantically interested in me. He often talked about his love life, brought up bad stuff about our past, and constantly made a point of proving he wasn’t interested. Honestly i’m kind of heart broken. This man is my best friend. We’ve known each other for 6 years. After everything that happened in our relationship, I would NEVER get back with him. I don’t care what kind of person he changes into, it’s not gonna happen. But I always wanted to remain friends with him. And now I can’t. If we remain friends then he will always think there’s a chance for him to win me back. What do I do? i’m devastated. I just lost my best friend.
