2023.03.21 13:03 xfallenangelx95 27/F Looking for friendless people who know exactly what loneliness is - to talk to on a daily basis.I'm looking for like minded people in the same situation as mine to finally get close to someone new.I don't make friends based on hobbies but on similar outlook on life and similar experiences <3

Only Europe Please- short note - If you're not into reading or receiving long messages, don't read any further + Please If you don't want to read everything because of my post being too long for you & instead of reading It all - ..skip some parts - find another person to talk to.Let's respect each other and our free time. All people criticizing/making fun of me & other people - will permanently be blocked.Pretty much as people questioning my post and giving me unwanted advice.I'm not here for any conflicts and I know I can't please everyone - I know I never will.. However It's me who should feel comfortable in my new potential friendship & obviously someone interested in being my friend - not the whole world which is why I don't need any advice from people who don't even want to be a part of my life.
Hello guys! 🙂 (read everything before you decide to send me a message) Please send me a message ONLY If you're in the same situation and If your expectations are the same as mine.I want to find like minded people from Europe (Why Europe? Read my post to find out) I'm looking for something permanent
(remember - you can feel lonely even If you're surrounded by others - If there's no emotional bond) and meeting people who never make any time for me & only text me once or twice a week to ask me "what are you up to?" Out of boredom.I don't want to meet people asking others a million of questions like "what's your favorite movie?" Just to give you one word answer and ask you another question "and music? Your favorite song?" I'm looking for something "deeper" & different🙂
What kind of friend would I like to find? Someone to talk to on a daily basis - Someone who needs It & wants It just as much as me
Do you ever feel like an option? Like a stranger to others despite knowing them for months or years & talking to them quite often? Like there's always something and someone more important than you and you just..don't fit in and no matter what you do - your effort is never appreciated?

I'm always the one texting people immediately (or at the very least trying to) no matter where I am and who I am with (family) others? Never - except for one exception.A really lovely person.

What are my expectations? I would like to meet someone in a similar situation – why? Because I honestly feel like only a person with the same expectations and a similar outlook on life would get along with me & because I feel more comfortable talking to people like me..Friendless people who need a strong bond - people without friends and without partners..Don't get me wrong…Most people deserve to be happy and It's good to have friends but people who have friends or families in real life are usually more focused on them ( which is completely understandable) & have less time for others + I simply don't want to be replaced by anyone..I kind of envy people who can call others , true friends given I don't have an emotional bond with any of my acquaintances. Whenever I hear that others have friends I simply get sad because (believe it or not) If I had to choose between 20 people to talk to (Acquaintances) and one special person - I'd choose that one special person without any hesitation .. I also want to talk to others on a daily basis mainly because..I want to see someone’s effort & be someone's first choice - not another person to have random conversations with..Why I'd rather talk to people from my continent? Well..Mainly because I would like to see someone I'd get along with - In the far future - face to face :) + I don't want to wait any longer than 6 hours to receive a message - Especially given most people are always available on social media sites & keep their phones in a pocket.Once you receive & open my message - get back to me (If you're as serious as I am & really need a true friend) waiting 6 hours to receive a message is more than enough
I'm by no means criticising people who don't want to talk to others often / People who really are super busy & People who want to find someone to have non important conversations with - I'm aware that not everyone has the same expectations which is why everything you're reading now - is here for a reason. All I'm suggesting is - I don't want anything temporary and I don't want to be the one always giving more than receiving.

Listen people - I used to ignore being..ignored by others..always being just an option to talk to during tough times or moments of boredom.I was too young to realize that I was never important enough for most people that were a part of my life

I don't know who needs to hear this but..No one is too busy to make time for you! People make excuses to avoid others because they prioritize everything and (maybe) everyone..over them. It's true that most people really are busy - but It takes only a few seconds to start a conversation (If you're into short messages) and a few minutes (1-10/15) to type a long message Don't let anyone lie to you.Truth is that most people either don't like you enough to make time for you or just simply - feel no need to talk to others often but are they too busy? No..
You don't need to send me a message just to ask me and tell me "Do you really want to talk daily? I like long messages but I can't promise to contact you often" If you really are unsure please don't send me a message.I don't need more acquaintances aka people to talk to - occasionally

I'm not trying to sound rude - I just don't want to meet new people and get emotionally attached - only to end up being left alone after weeks or months of daily conversations.I'm sick of that never ending story and always meeting people who ghost me without a single word (even if everything seems to be ok) or people who "change priorities" over time & become like strangers…I don't want to go through this ever again.

Let me tell you one thing – A true friend would never just give up on you for no reason :)

It’s always possible to find someone to have a random conversation with – someone willing to send you one message once or twice a week..but..It’s almost impossible to find people willing to make time for you.I’m not asking a busy person to make time for me by changing some plans! Absolutely not! I’m here to find someone who wants to talk daily (throughout the day or maybe even night) of one’s own will.Someone looking for the same kind of connection.

Strong friendships are based on mutual support. One of the best things you can do for a friend in need, is just to be there for them when they want to talk.I often see posts from people who always say how friendless they are because they don't feel loved or appreciated by their "friends" remember! A true friend - someone who truly likes you or someone who wants to get to know you - will always find time for you. 🙂 I'm not really interested in small talk/short messages - I love long and meaningful conversations. It's so easy to find someone who loves abbreviations and questions like "How are you?" How was your day? Or what are you interested in? But so hard/almost impossible to find a person who knows how to keep a conversation going & show others some effort.Building and maintaining friendships takes time and effort.Never allow pursuits or possessions to become bigger priorities than your relations with other people.Close friendships are so important to us because they are so difficult to form + Having friends can help you feel as if you belong to something that brings purpose and connection to your life.

• I do NOT respond to any „Hey,hmu” or „u want to talk” type of messages (super short messages or messages full of abbreviations – I literally can’t stand abbreviations and acronyms in text messages) ALL messages full of abbreviations will immediately be ignored.I also don't like it when people ignore everything I say in my post or messages and just focus on some question in a certain message or... when they don't ask me any questions themselves.

• No dirty messages PLEASE.I'm not looking for anyone to flirt with and I'm not looking for a partner either. No NSWF profiles..I always check people's profiles (Even comment history) - To avoid guys, trying to get inappropriate photos from adult women or? flirt with them.I also absolutely don't respond to messages from people whose comments are very rude & obviously - Messages from people who judge other people and use vulgar words to describe them or? Make fun of them.Respect is very important

• Please only adult people 18-36 age range (I'm 27)

• I don’t respond to messages I don’t find interesting even If they're long - If after receiving and reading your message I don't feel comfortable or think "I wouldn't get along with him/her" I simply do not respond (what I’m suggesting is that I don’t always respond to someone’s first or second message because..sometimes you just know If you’d get along with someone or not- I’d never ignore anyone after days or weeks of daily conversations though) just because I don’t want to do anything forcefully & because I don’t want to lead anyone on. Some people don't message me back as well and even though It is a bit disappointing I'm ok with that as long as there's no emotional bond - I think it's ok to not respond to someone's first or second message If people just think they wouldn't get along I can't stand being ignored after days or weeks of daily conversation and seeing people changing priorities This is something I don't want to go through ever again for real If I'm really interested in someone's message - I respond within a matter of minutes - max 6 hours (If I'm in bed - just sleeping) you won't even hear from me "I'm too busy" because I know myself and If I really was too busy to make time for others - I wouldn't be here.I either want to talk to someone..or not.I don't want to pretend someone I'm not and always try to find some cheap excuses to avoid others. (unlike some people)

• Don’t ask me “Can you tell me something about yourself?” If you really want to get to know me - you can ask me questions :) I'm an open book.

• It would be better If you guys were into emojis - just like me - just to describe your emotions through text. Two emojis - 🙂 and 🙁 are completely enough I just don't like emotionless messages.I also don't like it when people say "yeah" or yea"

• I want to talk on reddit first (just to make sure If I'd get along with you ) before moving to Discord or some other app

• Time response matters to me a lot! It matters to me whether I get a message back after one hour, three hours,6 hours or..12 hours and even..after a couple of days..And If you're another person just looking for one day conversation and then? "Disappear" for some amount of time longer than one day to come back and apologize me for being busy - don't even leave me a message.I just want to be honest with you from the start.I'm interested only in daily conversations
Why can’t you see any of my interests listed down below? Because what really matters to me is..who you are (If you’re honest, talkative, understanding, caring and trustworthy – for example) just simply – It matters to me what you’re like! not what you like.Don’t get me wrong – you can tell me what your hobbies are but in my personal opinion, common interests are important mainly when you want to find a gaming buddy (for example) or If you want to meet someone to hang out with in real life and..go bowling for example. What most people seem to care about are other people's interests – I don’t. I get along with other people despite having completely different hobbies but I absolutely don’t get along with people way different than me (different expectations and outlook on life– way different sense of humor or personality traits – It’s just an example) It doesn't make ANY DIFFERENCE to me If you're a gamer or? Someone interested in photography! It doesn't make any difference - > as long as you're talkative and kind and If you also want to find someone willing to stay in your life..for good - But If you're into small talk and all you want is to...type and receive super short messages or If you're here only because you're bored and don't know what to do + If you're a very sarcastic person - I'm definitely not for you!I don't get along with overly sarcastic people turning everything into a joke

Friendships should be natural – not forced. Both people wanting to be friends should feel comfortable and have something in common. No - not necessarily a similar taste in music or movies but something else..Most friendships don't fizzle out because of people not having the same hobbies but..because they just simply have different expectations when It comes to something important.

I'm not here out of boredom and trust me - I'm not here to meet as many people as possible.I choose quality over quantity.I higly value myself and my time & Sometimes one person but a person who makes you feel comfortable and understood - is more than enough :)

We ALL can choose what kind of people we’d like to talk to and maybe even become really good friends with and I? I don’t want anyone to be disappointed. We all have some expectations after all.

If you really need someone to talk to due to loneliness and If you have time to talk to me daily (throughout the day and maybe even night)I always make time for others.I'm literally always available.I could even stay up all night long only to talk to someone. I’m ready to commit but only If there’s some chemistry between me and someone else.I don’t do anything forcefully.

If you want to talk to me tell me your story - tell me why you're here, what kind of friend would you like to meet :) Et cetera.Such messages are way more interesting to me than...someone's long list of hobbies.I know! It's unusual on reddit but I don't make friends based on hobbies..I want to meet someone with the same mindset as mine to finally feel understood and get close to someone new.

You can share your problems with me - I absolutely don't mind "complaining" as I've been through a lot in my life. What do people usually tell you when you tell them that's something's wrong? "Don't complain" or "Life's not over yet - one day you'll be happy" or "There are worse situations than yours" and..obviously "Find a therapist" Life's not a fairytale and sometimes things don't go as planned.Emotions shouldn't be bottled up.I'm sick of people always telling others "everything's gonna be ok" move on " & more..Trust me people - not everyone wants to hear "Just believe in yourself and everything's gonna be ok" Some people take it as reassurance. But others see it as false hope. Imagine being told that things will be okay, only for them to get worse..Do you guys know why telling someone "everything's gonna be ok" Is wrong? Because you can't see the future. You can't guarantee others that one day they'll finally be happy + when It comes to social interactions - We're only responsible for ourselves - not for others & as you guys know people let us down quite often (sometimes even when there's no reason) so instead of telling people how they should move on,forget everything and be happy or asking them to find a therapist - be there for them! Always be willing to listen to them If you really like them or want to get to know them & don't suggest everyone in a tough situation to find a therapist because a therapist won't ever replace a true friend + It's quite normal to be disappointed If people always do something to hurt you.Sharing your hardships with other people in a very similar situation or exactly the same one - is VERY helpful If the other person understands you & wants to start all over by just letting it all out & feeling emotional support instead of always hearing some "positive quotes" or someone saying "Stop complaining let's talk about something else"

Everyone needs a shoulder to cry on. I appreciate sensitive people who always try to understand others.Empathy is everything
Our world needs more peace 🤗 I've seen a lot of rude comments on reddit. If you don't agree with me - OK but please don't criticize me + Not everyone is here for some advice.

Listen people - I know how different my post is & I know It won't be easy for me to find what or rather who - I'm looking for BUT I always want to be myself instead of pretending someone I'm not and lying to others.I know It would be easier if (like others) I had less expectations but I I know what I want and honestly? If my post was different..I wouldn't be me.Even If I won't meet a person I'd get along with - that's ok! but don't give me any unwanted advice because I wouldn't change for someone who doesn't even know me pretty much as I wouldn't want to change anyone else.I'm not trying to "fit in" and be like everyone else - just to get more attention.Accept me for who I am or let go - is my motto.I'm not here to argue with anyone and to make fun of others.

Please - If you're a completely different person than the described type of person I'm looking for (If you love abrreviations,If you don't need an emotional connection,If you're sarcastic and quiet) or If you simply disagree with my post - don't force yourself to send me a message.I want my new potential friendship,to be natural which is why I want you to contact me If your needs are the same - I don't want you to try to change yourself only to please me - Pretending to be someone you're not - is the worst

No comments please.Only Private messages and chat requests.I don't really like public conversations.I do not respond to comments so If you want to send me a message just do it without saying "You can DM me"

2023.03.21 13:00 Time-Introduction614 Trapped in a contract

I am a university student and I live in student accommodation. The contract did state that it would be very difficult to leave which I was okay with however having lived here since September, I never would have signed that contract knowing the conditions of living here. I put in an early release request which was denied because the residence manager decided that the living standard was satisfactory and safe.
There’s construction work from Monday to Friday and it is extremely loud (this was mentioned on the contract however the contract stated it would happen between the hours of 9 and 5 but it often starts before 9 and goes on longer than 5), there are meant to be scheduled fire alarms on Fridays but the people running the building just decide to do them whenever they want so in the event of a real fire it’s likely that a lot of people just wouldn’t evacuate (it’s worth noting that on one occasion, they tested the fire alarm at 4 am that went on for around 50 seconds before finally being turned off), someone’s toaster exploded and instead of taking accountability for giving tenants cheap toasters they blamed the tenants for not cleaning out the crumb tray (this is meant to be done every 6 months and it had only just hit the 6 and a half month threshold), for three days there was a forensics van parked outside because of something that had happened in the accommodation, for three weeks after Christmas both lifts in one of the buildings were completely unusable which meant that people had to climb upwards of 10 flights of stairs just to get to their flat (since then we’ve had sporadic lift outages across the accommodation that take weeks to repair), only a week or so ago half of my flat experienced an electrical outage which included electricity being cut off from our fridges and freezers (we were told this was caused by cheap wiring from a phone charger or something but it coincidentally happened just after a builder screamed the word shit outside of one of our windows 🧐), there’s tons of drug usage at this accommodation and at one point we had a naked man high on whatever the fuck he’d taken who was running around our accommodation and then eventually the nearest tube station, we’ve had two instances of people throwing up in our lifts, there have been people who have thrown eggs everywhere in the stairwell, we constantly have broken washers and there are people who just do not come and take the washing out of the washing machine for HOURS on end.
Along with all of this bullshit, the main reason I want to move out is because my partner is in a situation at the moment that they do not want to be in and I told this to my residence manager and she said that for me to leave I need to find someone to cover my tenancy, which I feel it’s just completely unethical, or I need to have a note from a GP to prove that I have mental health issues that are being worsened by the conditions here in order to leave. The problem with getting a note from the GP is that if you have not been able to seek help with your mental health problems before and you suddenly go to the GP so you can get a note to leave your accommodation, there is a high chance that GP is gonna laugh in your face and tell you to get out, as they’ll likely assume you’re only doing it to get out of your accommodation and not because you’re actually dealing with anything.
You’re also welcome to leave but if there’s nobody paying, you’re paying. Which means you’ll end up paying for an empty flat. The accommodation is exclusive to students from my university also so it’s even harder to find a replacement.

2023.03.21 13:00 Odd_Ad5840 230321 iKON BOBBY's 3-Part Interview with E-Daily

Source 1 2 3- Checked Machine Translation
PART 1 "New beginning" Icon/iKON Bobby "Opening a new golden age with music" [Interview]
"Starting anew," Icon's Bobby says, "I'm excited to face many new things. I want to open a new golden age with great music."
iKON member Bobby (real name Kim Ji-won) has returned with a solo single "S.i.R". It has been about two years and two months since his last solo activity, so Bobby and his fans are excited for his comeback.
In a recent interview with Edaily at 143 Entertainment, his agency in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Bobby said, "I wanted to share the songs that I had prepared as soon as possible" and "I want to repay the fans who have shown unconditional love with this comeback activity."
"S.i.R" has special meaning as a new album announcing his fresh start. Bobby left YG Entertainment (hereafter YG), where he had been since his debut last year, and signed an exclusive contract with his current agency on January 1st of this year. "S.i.R" is his first work from his new agency.
"I changed jobs for the first time, and I moved from YG headquarters in Mapo-gu to the current agency in Gangnam-gu. I worked on new songs while juggling everything, and I was very busy."
The single includes the title track "Drowning" and the accompanying track "Cherry Blossom". Bobby said, "I filled the single with songs that would suit spring," and explained that "Cherry Blossom" is a song that he wrote and recorded again from four to five years ago, and "Drowning" is a new song written specifically for this comeback.
"Drowning" expresses the feeling of being completely attracted to someone of the opposite sex, and singer-songwriter SOLE participated as a featuring artist. Bobby said, "I worked on pop elements with the thought of making a spring song that everyone would enjoy, regardless of personal preferences." He went on to explain that he has prepared a fun and playful stage with a Japanese choreographer that he found through word of mouth, and girl group LIMELIGHT's member under the same agency helped with the vocal part.
"Cherry Blossom," which deals with the theme of intense emotions that are as beautiful as cherry blossoms and as short-lived as them, is a song that Bobby wrote and composed. "It's a song that compares the emotions felt when feeling anxious that the unseen cherry blossoms might quickly disappear to love. Although it's a song about lonely emotions, I completed it as a band-based song with a new sound," he added.
Bobby not only participated in the writing and composition of the two songs but also demonstrated his versatile skills as a performer and art director. "Since YG is a huge company, I only had to focus on making music and performing on stage. However, this time, I was involved in everything from 1 to 100 and confirmed everything in detail," he said.
"Through this experience, I have come to appreciate how many steps it takes for one song to be released to the world and how much it can evolve."
Bobby wants to show that he is not only good at hip-hop but also sensitive hip-hop with this single, which will be released on the 21st. He also said that his goal is to release new solo works every time the season changes this year, and that he has over 30 solo songs that he has worked on.
"I started dreaming of becoming a singer after being inspired by Dynamic Duo and Stony Skunk's music while spending my school days in the United States. Music is still my biggest hobby, and I enjoy creating hip-hop songs that have my own color and emotions by digging up new music," he added.
After the release of his solo single "S.i.R", Bobby has been busy with various schedules. Starting in April, he will embark on his first solo tour in Japan, and in May, he will also join his group iKON's new world tour, which includes performances in North America and Europe.
Referring to iKON's biggest hit song "Love Scenario" that shook the nation in 2018, Bobby said, "I know very well that many people have been supporting me and iKON for a long time, and their expectations are still high. We will do our best to open a new golden era with the power of music, which is the greatest strength of me and iKON."

PART 2'On the day I left YG, I walked around the company to say goodbye... it was emotional' [Interview] "I felt emotional on the last day leaving the company."
Bobby (real name Kim Ji-won), a member of the group iKON who has returned with his solo single 'S.i.R', reflected on the day he left his former agency YG Entertainment (YG) at the end of last year during a recent exclusive interview with EDaily.
He said, "On the day I announced my departure from YG, I walked around the company with the members and said goodbye to all the staff, including Producer Yang Hyun-suk." He added, "Everyone supported us like a mother bird supporting her baby bird's independence, saying 'if you need anything, don't hesitate to contact us.' I was grateful."
Bobby had been a trainee at YG since 2011 before realizing his dream of becoming a singer. Since he had spent over 10 years in the nest, leaving the agency was a poignant moment for him.
He said, "The most memorable moment was when I said goodbye to (Kim) Jin-woo, a member of Winner, on the last day. He's someone I've been with for a long time since my trainee days, and we have a lot of memories together. He was almost in tears, and seeing him like that made me feel emotional as well."
Later that evening, Bobby also had a dinner with the manager and other staff members where they talked about memories from their past activities. He said, "Since I was at YG since my adolescence, my emotions were mixed in various ways."
Bobby and all the other members of iKON revealed on January 1st of this year that they had moved to a new nest under 143 Entertainment. It was a noteworthy event since all the members moved to a different agency together after their seven-year exclusive contract with their previous agency had expired.
When asked about the secret to their tight teamwork, Bobby said, "All the members have a different attitude when it comes to thinking about the team, and they also have a deep consideration for each other." He added, "Though it's possible for a member who thinks 'I don't need iKON!' but not a single one of us thinks that way," laughing.
Bobby also mentioned that the secret to their teamwork is the fact that the eldest member of the group, Kim Jin-hwan, is the team's center. He said, "Our eldest member is very kind. He always tries to understand the younger members, which is why iKON is able to maintain such strong teamwork."
Bobby also revealed that members Kim Jin-hwan and Koo Jun-hoe are close with Lee Min-woo, a member of the veteran idol group Shinhwa, and that his advice has helped them. He said, "Lee Min-woo's advice, which I heard from him, has also been helpful to our members. Shinhwa sunbaenims always talk about business conversations with a serious attitude, even if they are close. iKON also tries to differentiate between personal and business matters and respects boundaries."
Meanwhile, Bobby revealed that he is preparing not only for his solo comeback but also for iKON's new world tour and album release.
The new world tour will begin in Taiwan in May and continue until September in countries such as Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, France, Thailand, Malaysia, and the United States.
Regarding the tour, Bobby said, "This will be the first time we are touring Europe, and I have always felt sorry for our European fans. I want to repay them with a great performance through this opportunity." He also smiled and said, "Personally, it's my first time visiting Europe, so I'm excited."
In addition, Bobby revealed that they are working hard on a new album, which has not yet been confirmed for release. He said, "We are preparing for the new album with songs that the members wrote themselves." Finally, he said with a smile, "Not only our music but also the members' good looks are improving, and we hope for your support for iKON's comeback."
PART 3 "I love NewJeans' songs... K-Pop quality has improved" [Interview] "There are so many songs of incredible quality nowadays, it's surprising."
When asked how he views the K-Pop music market, which is now being shaken up by 4th generation idol groups, during an exclusive interview with EDaily, Bobby (real name Kim Ji-won) gave a thoughtful response.
Bobby said, "The songs have been upgraded overall. Before, the only time I got chills from an idol group's music was when I listened to Bigbang's songs, but nowadays, every song is so good that I think 'wow, this is the power of K-Pop.'" He continued, "I realize that K-Pop has established itself as a genre," and expressed his view that "personally I wonder if kpop could be the 'next-level pop"
As for the 4th generation idol group songs that have left the deepest impression on him lately, Bobby mentioned NewJeans' songs. He said, "I loved NewJeans' 'Ditto' so much. And 'Hype boy' and 'Cookie' were also so good," and added, "the music style is so refined that I was surprised." He also complimented each member's impressive voice, saying, "They seem like cool people."
Bobby said, "Overall, the quality of recently released K-Pop songs is high. It's amazing that so many high-quality songs are pouring out," and mentioned that since he was the winner of the Mnet hip-hop survival show 'Show Me the Money 3', he was asked about his view of the recent Korean hip-hop scene. Many people currently view the hip-hop trend with concern, as evidenced by AKMU's Lee Chan-hyuk's remark "hip-hop isn't cool anymore," which represents the market's atmosphere.
Bobby was careful with his words, saying that the subject was "very sensitive," and said, "I think many people are good at rapping and have star quality." He continued, "Among them, many people enjoy hip-hop culture itself, rather than hip-hop songs," and added, "Many short-form contents are popular, and the trend is rapidly changing, so I think some people might not have time to consume hip-hop music."
Bobby emphasized, "I think the Korean hip-hop scene is booming more than ever in terms of skills. There are so many talented people." He also added, "I hope many people will 'dig' into hip-hop. As they do, they will surely discover the charm of hip-hop."
Finally, Bobby mentioned that he spends a lot of time "digging" into EDM music to get different musical inspirations. He said, "Listening to music is my hobby, but there are so many similar-sounding songs that it was a concern. So I think I fell into EDM, which I had never deeply explored before, wondering 'what's new?'" and added, "I want to grow as an artist who can absorb and digest various genres of music in the future."
Meanwhile, Bobby will release his solo single 'S.i.R' on the 21st. He will release the single, which includes the title track 'Drowning' and the song 'Cherry Blossom,' on various music platforms at 6 pm on the same day.

I (37M 5'5" 145lbs white) was wondering if it is safe to drink beer while taking penicillin? I just started taking penicillin vk 500 mg yesterday for strep throat and will have to for 10 days. Anyway was just curious if there would be any side effects or the alcohol would slow down the healing process. Thanks! No medical conditions, or medications, drink beer and whine, occasional cigarette and no drug use.

2023.03.21 12:57 RedEagle_MGN For those who are struggling to build their indie team, here are some things I've learned

I built a game dev team that's flourishing and I started on INAT but the challenge was immense.
It's really common for people starting a game project to struggle to get the help they feel they need to make the game a reality. They are often stuck between a rock and a hard place -- not having the funds to pay people up front and not having all the skills needed to make a game solo.
I've been there, but more than ever I found my way out, and I thought I would reach back and see if I can help some others. I built a team starting on INAT that has grown to 35+ daily active developers with every talent needed to make a solid title. We meet every single day in three different time zones and the team dynamic is extremely positive. 75% of people on the team have a degree in their field.
This article was written for inat but I thought I would share here.

1. Don't take no for an answer

There's going to be a lot of people who push you down, and many of them are just trying to avoid this industry being taken over by “idea people.” However, even if you have no coding skills but talent in leadership, marketing, design or other areas, this industry actually needs you and it is possible.

2. It's going to take hard work

If you're not bringing any skills to the table, you probably shouldn't be doing this. However, if you're a natural-born leader and if you're ready to put in hard work every single day and be really humble about the advice you get from other people, you do have the opportunity to make it happen nonetheless.

3. Humility is important

Knowing that you need mentorship is critical to your success. You don't want to make all the mistakes the hard way. There have been people that have been down this road and who can make your life a lot easier, and you can find people like that on gamedev.
This whole industry is surprisingly generous, but nobody likes somebody with a big ego who can't take any advice.

4. Be positive about your worst people

About 80% of the people who join these sorts of Reddits would like to have the feeling of making games without putting in the real tough, long, enduring work. They constantly join new projects because they love the feeling of joining new things, but they don't have what it takes to finish.
You're probably going to start by begging kids that are barely out of high school to help you out. Be grateful for what you get. If you're not bringing money to the table honestly, you shouldn't expect anything.
I was able to slowly raise the average age and capability of my team by cherishing those who I got at the low level. I knew they were going to quit in 3 weeks, and so I wrote standard operating procedure documents which made it so that once they dropped the ball, I could find somebody else to pick it up, and it wouldn't be a big deal.

5. Culture is everything

A few years ago, a comprehensive study was put together to correlate factors with a game's success and failure.
Here is what they found:
https://i.imgur.com/okKs9mo.png
Vision and culture made the most difference out of any factor they studied. It matters more than production methodology, extra work hours, and all other factors.
If you're going to build a team, you need to set the standard. Think about the impact you want to have in the world and focus your team on that. Don't allow serious deviation from your culture, and double down on your culture.
I had great success by focusing very heavily on a people-first culture. It also has zero tolerance for anything less than professional behavior.

6. No sacred cows

People who violate your culture and who are complaining and putting other people down need to be removed before they cause issues. The best way to deal with this is to have such a culture that you don't attract the people in the first place.
However, if you have to deal with these kinds of people, have the procedures already set in place, so it doesn't seem like it's arbitrary or personal.

7. A big idea, a small footprint

Great games are not great because they are 3D or AAA or any of that. However, if you pitch some very small scale game which you know is realistic, you're also going to get a lot less people that are interested.
This forced me to scope up my ideas very significantly, but I regret that mistake. What you must do is think about a massive-impact idea that does not require much effort.
This is extremely difficult.

8. Live events are the lifeblood of your community

Getting together on a regular basis is essential to help people get out of the mentality that somebody else is going to make this game. Meeting on a regular basis and working together live is critical to your success. Do this regularly.
Every Monday, I have a live event where we all come together, and we delegate tasks to everybody on the team. If we didn't have that live event, nobody would actually step up to take those tough leadership roles that we need to elect people to every single week. However, people feel the burden of responsibility when they're together live that somebody's got to do it, and it's probably got to be them.

9. Let birds fly

When people leave your team to join other projects, rather than being sad about it, encourage them and celebrate it, and they'll remember you and they'll help you out in the future. Don't hold on to people, you're not doing them a service that way.

10. Age is everything

I have recruited more than a thousand people to the team in order to focus in on those who make a difference. The correlation with age and success is incredible, if you get people 30+ you are building a proper team.

11. Don’t promise money

You need to get in touch with a lawyer and set up an agreement right away because you don't want to sort this out afterwards. That said, I personally lean away from making any promises of compensation because in my experience the game's business is incredibly hits-driven and you never know which one makes it and which one doesn't.
It's tough to motivate people to cross the entire Mount Everest of making a game purely on money. I've decided to avoid it but your best to set up a basic revenue split agreement if you need it.
Make a legal agreement but don’t make sky-high promises.

Conclusion

Get mentorship, work hard, build a positive-focused community and don’t speak about money.

Leaders needed

If, rather than recruiting a team, you would like to play a production role in an already established team, visit: ![http://p1om.com/chosenapplicant](http://p1om.com/chosenapplicant)
Be aware, we don't have traditional managers, rather, we have servant leaders. Expect to lift people up from the bottom.

2023.03.21 12:56 nicthevpcom Made my first flow! It's a bit advanced but would love to get your advice

So I'm doing a 30 day handstand challenge and as part of it I wanted to make a yoga routine for any advanced yogi's wanting to practice handstands.
So I did it!
It's 25 minutes long and builds the strength and flexibility for the handstand. I tried to make it so it was a good beginneintermediate level. Even if you can't do a handstand I tried to make it so any inversions are optional and flexibility and shoulder strength can still be built to prep your body for going inverted. I meant it to be a vinyasa routine but it probably is a bit more of a power flow, due to the handstands.
Here's the summary of the flow.
  1. Child's pose
  2. Warm up wrists - table top rocks
  3. Sun salutation
  4. Vinyasa - twisting bent knee triangle and dragon
  5. Vinyasa - press float to squat
  6. Vinyasa - crescent, warrior 3, crescent
  7. Vinyasa - float up to handstand to crow, with tight core breathing as a break
  8. Core conditioning plank sequence - sphinx, forward sphinx, dolphin, extended sphinx
  9. Child's pose and calm belly breathing
  10. End with reflection on growth
Here's the video of me performing the routine.

2023.03.21 12:56 RedEagle_MGN For those who are struggling to build their indie team, here are some things I've learned

2023.03.21 12:54 daniellehunter5828 How To Build An ECommerce App Like Amazon - A Complete Guide

Amazon is the company that has the power to sell you everything, and they are one of the most successful companies in history.
They have an app that allows them to be just as accessible on your phone as they are online. Amazon has a marketplace where third-party sellers can sell their goods. And with more than 300 million active users on Amazon, it's hard not to see why they want this to be the only way you buy anything from now on.
The Amazon marketplace has been a powerhouse for years and is only getting stronger as they expand into new sectors such as groceries. They already offer two-hour delivery on products you order through their Prime Now service but are looking to add an even faster option quite soon.
Amazon's mobile presence has been steadily growing since it launched its first Android app back in 2011. Apps mostly account for more than 40% of sales for retailers. This is one of the reasons why businesses want to collaborate with mobile app developers who are looking to jump on the opportunity and create their own apps
With all this information at our fingertips, it's easy to understand that apps are here to stay. So, why not learn from the best if you have a business and want to create an app?
In this article, we will discuss how even you can create an app like amazon.

So, without any further ado, let’s get this show on the road

Steps to build an app like amazon

a) Be very clear about your app development.

This is an extremely important first step. Many people just take the idea of amazon but never understand what it takes to execute it. This is why it is so important for you to do market research
“Want to Build an App Like Amazon? Know Your Audience First.”
A question that is often asked is how to build an app like Amazon. This can be a difficult task as the company has such a large and diverse customer base, but there are some key things you need to consider before trying your hand at it.
The first thing to know about building an app like Amazon is who your target audience will be. You'll have more success with the project if you understand what customers you want to appeal to, so research them thoroughly and learn everything you can.
After determining who they are, marketers must focus on what these potential customers care about and how they can provide them with the best value possible.
Building apps can take time, patience, and hard work- but for it to be successful you must know your audience.

b) Give your app Amazon-like features.

Features are what separate good apps from great ones. And when it comes to amazon, their features are beyond amazing.
“Amazon App features Lets You Buy Anything, Anywhere.”
This app is the ultimate way to find and purchase items from your mobile device. Amazon has a list of features that make it possible for them to create an app like this.
These include:
- Ratings, - Push notifications, - Reviews, - List of payment options, - Social media integration, - a Wishlist, and Synchronization,
But the best aspect of amazon is the fast and simple checkout process.
Amazon also offers free shipping on items with no minimum order size or monthly fees, especially for loyal customers increasing repeat buy-in.
Your app should at least offer 50% of what the amazon app has on its features. A lot of what the amazon app has is due to the sheer amount of money that they are pouring into their app management.
We get it, you might not have the same level of capital in your company, but you must make do with the best.

C) Use the amazon app’s template to create your app.

Templates are great because you can take from the best, and leave the rest. In this case, take what you can from amazon’s template and integrate it into your idea.
“Templates allow for most flexibility without missing out on functionality.”
What is a template? A template is a starting point for something. When you design an app, you will use the app as your base and add things on top of it. Templates are great because they offer a lot of flexibility- you just need to change what needs to be changed while keeping the structural framework that already exists.
Many apps have templates that can be copied and customized.
For example, Amazon's system is focused on giving their customers as much flexibility as possible in designing their templates. If you are looking to create your amazon app, use a template because they offer great flexibility with just changing the base while keeping the structural framework of your app intact.
Because if we are being honest, the Amazon app has such a huge output of data that it becomes very difficult for anyone to create an app like Amazon from scratch. This is only possible if you hire the best app development company at your disposal. But that is a topic that we will discuss later in this article.

d) Get ready to code the backend.

Coding in the backend is complicated, especially if you don't have a dedicated app development team. It is also the most important aspect of any app development cycle.
You Can't Have a Great App Without Backend Developers
You may have noticed that apps are becoming more complicated with each release. It's no wonder they take so long to develop. This is why it is best to hire qualified app developers during this stage of your project.
Most startups and SMBs don't have enough resources or knowledge on their own to code an entire backend system for their product, which means they must know about app development.
App developers are a crucial part of any successful app development project. Without them, you can't have an excellent app. The backend is so complicated that it's difficult to do without specialized expertise and training in the field.
Hire app developers to skyrocket your app development process”
It also has to be built with advanced programming languages like PHP or Java and use MySQL as its database engine. Hiring qualified app professionals will ensure your success when developing a back end for your application.

e) Focus on front-end development.

Once your backend development is complete, it is now time to focus on the front-end development of your app. As the name suggests, the front end is that aspect of your app that is visible to your app visitors.
You Can't Create an App Without the Front-End Development.
Your app may have been built in the backend and can easily handle your client's data requests, but what does it look like to the user? There are two types of front-end development: a website or an app. Websites allow you to put information on the internet that is visible to anyone who visits your site, while apps require installation before they will work on a mobile device. Both methods come with their own set of challenges.
For our intents and purpose, we will focus on our apps' front-end development.
It includes all graphical elements such as colors and buttons and defines how things should look when touched or clicked. Now there are 3 main types of apps, majorly
- Native app - Web App - Hybrid app
If we wish to develop an app like amazon then we have to focus on developing an app like amazon then your best bet has to be to focus on creating a hybrid app.

f) Get ready for feedback

This is going to be rough. It doesn’t matter if you have worked on this app completely alone or hired the best app developers in the world, first feedback always hurt. But they also act as a great way to find out what we left out.
“Feedback during app development is supposed to hurt.”
A new app may be the best thing since sliced bread for a developer but that's not always the case for the customer. Feedback is an integral part of the app development process, and developers should make sure to listen to it before they release their product.
Feedback can help shape a project in many ways- by telling developers what customers want and how they use certain features.
Customers who give feedback will feel more involved with your product because they are shaping its future; this involvement also gives them an idea of what they can expect.
Feedback can come in different shapes and forms but nothing beats cold hard reviews. Developers should make an effort in taking time out of their day to read through these reviews so they know what needs improvement. It's also good practice to engage with your followers on social media platforms such as Twitter or Instagram.
And you know what, it doesn't hurt that feedback also boosts your marketing.
App Developers should not ignore feedback because it will help them improve their product and get a better understanding of what people want in an app or game which is key in today's fast-paced world where everyone has different preferences.
Take the feedback for what it is and then improve upon what is lacking as per the needs of your target audience. It's not going to be easy, but it will be well worth it.

g) Optimize your app for the best results

This is the last part of your app development cycle. Apps too require SEO and keywords if they want to have a chance to stand in this tough market.
“Apps, just like websites need to be optimized”
There are many things you can do for your apps such as using targeted keywords, building an audience through social media, and more!
Developers of apps are always looking for ways to get more traffic, downloads, and attention. It's hard work but not impossible. To make the process easier, app developers need to optimize their products too by focusing on search engine optimization (SEO) and keywords for success in this competitive market.
The article will go into how you can use SEO and keywords in your development as well as what is required from a developer's perspective if they want to rank higher than other apps that have been developed before with a higher market share.
In this tough market, apps need to have the right keywords and SEO optimization. This is a process that will take time and energy, but it is worth it for your business in the end.
People think that only websites need to be optimized, but that's not true. Apps too require optimization if they want to stand out from the competition in this competitive market.
With this out of the way, let us focus on the next topic in our article which is…

The Cost Of Building An App Like Amazon

Coming right out of the gate, to kickstart your amazon app copy can cost you anywhere between 50,000 dollars up to 300,000 dollars.
And mind you this is just to kick start the development process.
We haven’t even begun to talk about the ongoing maintenance and optimization that many apps require.
This is why we have provided you with different topics to help you understand the different costs of different apps.

Cost of App Development Based on The Complexity of The App.

The complexity of the appApproximate costDuration of app developmentBasic app {mvp}40,000$-60,000$4 to 6 monthsAverage app with few features50,000$-100,000$6 to 10 monthsA complex app, with many features100,000$-300,000$Up to or more than a year
As you can see, the complexity of an app determines how much it will cost you during the app development.
This is on average the cost of hiring app developers, and it will be dependent on the complexity of the app.
Other factors that determine the cost of app development include:

a) Wireframing:

This is templating an app. Sometimes, if the app is going to be huge, something that the amazon app is, then wireframing will cost any.

b) UI of the app

UI/UX matters a lot from an app developer’s perspective. It is mostly controlled by both backend and front-end developers depending upon what type of app we are creating. Its cost can vary and is in the range of 5000$-20,000$

c) Development of the app

This is the biggest aspect of any app development phase. It’s in the name itself. Because this is where the bulk of the work is done, the cost can vary depending on how large your app is.
This is why is also the only factor in the entire app development phase that has the highest cost variation, ranging from 30,000$ to 100,000$.

d) Team size for app development.

This is a no-brainer. The larger your team size, the more money it will cost. This is one of the main reasons why many customers don’t want to hire a large team, but they take it backward.
By hiring dedicated developers from app development companies, they will save money in the long run.
Hire dedicated app developers and see your growth today!”
Paying a dedicated team of hired app developers is worth the cost because they bring the biggest ROI to all your projects.

e) App maintenance.

Remember when we informed you that just creating an app in itself isn’t enough? This is part of what we call “Ongoing cost”. Depending upon the revenue of your app, ongoing app maintenance can be a drop in the bucket when compared to your profits.
Keep Reading, Why Should One Prioritize Hire Dedicated App Developers?
This brings us to our next topic, which is…

Benefits of developing an app like Amazon.

You should invest in an app for your e-commerce business because of the many benefits.
Mobile website has been around since the 1990s, but they still have limitations when it comes to providing user experiences that are on par with apps. Apps can be tailored and designed specifically for specific audiences, while websites can't quite do this as effectively.
One reason is that apps convert better than mobile websites so you can expect higher conversion rates. Another reason is that average order values are typically higher when there's a corresponding app. You'll also build more customer loyalty and provide a better user experience with an app.
Finally, fewer shopping carts will be abandoned with an app, which means you'll get more orders in total and a greater chance to stand out.

Conclusion

We hope you enjoyed our article. You are now on your way to creating an app like amazon. App development is always a tough process, which is why it’s best to take help from the best. This is the moment for you to compete against the big players in the e-commerce world.

2023.03.21 12:54 NewTwo9340 My 2016 KTM duke 125 wont crank and fuel gauge is showing empty with a full tank

So it was running fine until I took a 2 day break from riding. I tried to start it and the fuel gauge was showing empty and it wouldn’t even crank I tried to bump start it but has no luck after about 3 hours so I got a new battery and still no luck, I checked the power relays the fuses and everything looked okay so I got fed up and took it to a trusted mechanic. He’s been working on it for 3 weeks now and can’t figure it out
(another note, about 2 months prior to this I had a problem where the bike would start but cut out once it warms up, I had changed the spark plug which was covered in black oil but it worked fine after I changed it) Has anyone had an issue like this before and managed to fix it please let me know because I’m taking a train to work which takes an hour when it previously took 10 min on the duke.

You need to get in touch with a lawyer and set up an agreement right away because you don't want to sort this out afterward.

Be aware, we don't have traditional managers, rather, we have servant leaders. Expect to lift people up from the bottom.
