Why make a new orthography for Brazilian Portuguese anyway?
Well, Portuguese, much like English, has an archaic spelling with many irregularities and ambiguous letters, which make the language a bit confusing even for native speakers, who will often swap letters and misspell words. Also, Brazilian Portuguese doesn't have much in common with European Portuguese pronunciation and, between us and them, there are many different vocabulary choices and, therefore, there are many times we can't really understand each other. So I don't think it would be such a shame if we didn't share a common orthography (and I know many portuguese people wouldn't mind it either as a lot of them are very critical of our Orthographic Agreement).
Many times, our orthography doesn't represent the pronunciation of our language... there are letters, for example, that have many different pronunciations depending on context. "X", for instance, can represent [k͡s], [ʃ], [s] and [z]. There's no actual rules for it and it just reflects archaic pronunciation or loanwords foreign spelling. Examples: "tóxico" and "axila" use "x" for [k͡s], "xícara" and "xarope" use it for [ʃ], "máximo" and "texto" use it for [s] and "exemplo" and "exame" use it for [z]. "S" can represent either [s] or [z] depending on context; between vowels it behaves like a "z", but in other situations it might sound like an actual "s". If you double it and spell it as "ss" it will sound like [s] even between vowels. We also have the letter "ç", which just sounds like [s] all the time... why even have it tho if we already have "s"? After treating her for one week with calcium hypochlorite she was placed on SAGFF, 1 mil per each full reservoir change and 1 mil between full changes (7-10 days). I've been playing a bit more nocturne since he was one of my favorite champs in LoR and he's finnally kinda playable with fearsome, and I can't get over how much Senna's champion spell, Dawning Shadow, mechanically should be Nocturne's Paranoia.
First his own champion spell is lame. Drain 1 is not really in his style, and while the random nightfall card is fine for his schtick, it's not really doing anything special with the archetype. You know who does use drain a lot? Senna.
Meanwhile, Dawning shadow, This card kills a unit and lowers the strength of all other enemy units by 2. First from a gameplay perspective, killing a large unit that could block fearsome is useful. And the blanket debuff is literally part of nocturne's kit currently. From a lore perspective, what does Paranoia do in LoL? It isolates all the enemy and is meant to make them feel scared, kinda like how power lowering makes fearsome units able to be unchallenged, then he chooses one unit to attack doing massive, usually lethal damage, kinda like killing a unit.
Do my boy justice, Rito. Swap Senna and Nocturne's champ spells. You already changed Zileans. The precedent has been set

[10] “The Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs is a constituent of the apocryphal scriptures connected with the Torah. It is a pseudepigraphical work comprising the dying commands of the twelve sons of Jacob. It is part of the Oscan Armenian Orthodox Bible of 1666. Fragments of similar writings were found at Qumran, but opinions are divided if these are the same texts. It is considered Apocalyptic literature.
The Testaments were written in Greek, and reached their final form in the second century CE. In the 13th century that they were introduced into the West through the agency of Robert Grosseteste, Bishop of Lincoln, whose Latin translation of the work gained immediately became popular. He believed that it was a genuine work of the twelve sons of Jacob, and that the Christian interpolations were a genuine product of Jewish prophecy; he accused Jews of concealing the Testaments ‘on account of the prophecies of the Saviour contained in them.’
With the critical methods of the 16th century, Grosseteste’s view of the Testaments was rejected and the book was unjustly disparaged as a mere Christian forgery for nearly four centuries. Presently, scholarly opinions are still divided as to whether the Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs are an originally Jewish document that has been retouched by Christians or are a Christian document written originally in Greek but based on some earlier Semitic material. The feasibility of the Jewish author hypothesis is increasingly difficult to defend, while the Christian nature of the book is a given. Scholarship, therefore, focuses on this book as a Christian work, whether or not it has Jewish original (Vorlage).
A copy of the testaments is published in The Lost Books of the Bible and the Forgotten Books of Eden.
The work is divided into twelve books, each purporting to be the last exhortations of one of the twelve titular patriarchs. In each, the patriarch first narrates his own life, focusing on his strengths, virtues, or his sins, using biographical material from both the Hebrew Bible and Jewish tradition. Next he exhorts his listeners to emulate the one and to avoid the other. Most of the books conclude with prophetic visions.
The Testament of Reuben is predominantly concerned with admonishing lust, and the sinfulness of Reuben in his having had sex with Bilhah, a concubine of his father. Posted this sa adultingph a few weeks ago and dapat dito kasi mas appropriate pero kulang ang karma sana okay na ngayon, but anyway mini rant na din ito kasi nakaka high blood ung situation ko ngayon.
S/O and I are renting an apartment with Globe as our ISP. After a year, we were given notice to leave kasi they were "renovating" the whole building AKA gagawing transient. This is a common tactic to increase $$$ sa city namin kasi tourist city, and we got the rent at a good price that time kasi mahigpit pa ung quarantine rules nung nag move-in kami.
They gave us 1 month notice to vacate and unfortunately wala kaming mahanap na pasok sa criteria namin. I have 2 WFH jobs while s/o is on hybrid set-up. Simple lang naman sana: 1BR, near CBD, pet-friendly and madalang outage (city namin laging may outage). Now, we were offered to buy their family friend's condo unit kasi nag migrate na sa US. They are offering it at a steal price and is generous sa payment terms (tamang tao lang kami ni S/O, not high income earners). We said yes to avoid getting kicked out na and pasok sa criteria. Bonus pa top floor kami with good sunlight (mid rise lang naman), kasi ung current namin eh basement and moldy AF, plus may generator sila. The current tenant is moving out by July and naki usap kami sa current landlord to extend, kasi dapat June wala na kami.
Papers are gearing and a few weeks ago we visited the unit. Hindi kami pwede pumunta punta basta kasi may current tenant pa, and okay naman lahat until we asked if okay ang signal ng Globe. Originally, ang plan namin is ipalipat lang. Pero malaman laman namin sa Sky lang daw ang internet doon. We were like wtf?? As first time condo soon to be owner, nagulat kami na may ganun pala. Apparently Sky locked ung condo building. I mean oo siguro fault na namin kasi hindi namin chneck beforehand, pero ineexpect namin na kahit pangit ang Globe eh we can choose different ISP's kasi hello 2023 na??? 30mbps lang ang max speed and coax cable pa ang gamit. Imagine our headache.
Currently, nagbabasa kami ng workarounds dito sa reddit and general internet and yun muna ang gagawin namin (change DNS, get 3rd party router, prepaid wifi backups). The current tenant and a few owners na nakausap namin also vouched na sobrang pangit ng Sky doon. Pinasurvey namin anyway sa PLDT (kasi acquired naman na nila ang Sky) and ang sabi challenge daw ang conduits papunta units. Matagal na daw nirereklamo ng unit owners and mag mmeeting daw pano magiging arrangements ng conduit. In short, mukhang hindi maayos before kami mag move in July.
At this point, wala na talaga kaming choice but to wait and it is nerve wracking. Wala na din kaming choice because hindi na pumayag na mag extend ung current landlord and while we are continously looking for other places, wala kaming mahanap padin. Once we move in and walang progress, i'm considering emailing na din sa DHSUD kasi bawal naman na talaga ung ginagawa nila as per anti competition law. Pero ayun lang, for Sky users, damayan niyo naman kami T.T

hey, this is my first time on this sub-reddit. english is my second language, so please bare with me. i never thought i’d find myself ever posting, but here we are. not sure if it’s the right time to post this, especially since it’s pride month-
for some context, my (ex) friend, M, told me yesterday that she had a crush on S. i know that S likes me, and a lot of his friends have also told me. since i don’t like him romantically, i barely speak to him as i don’t want to lead him on. i won’t go into detail about our conversation. it starts when we were on call.
she called me while i was walking home, and we spoke for about 10 minutes. during those 10 minutes, M revealed to me that she told S that i was into girls. at first, i thought she was joking, because why would a sane person do this? as i inquired more, i came to the realisation that she was not kidding. i asked her when she told him, and she said that she told him a month ago. now, her saying this was wrong on many levels, two of them being: 1. i’m straight 2. she has no right to talk about other people’s sexuality to anyone i spoke about this to my sister, and she told me that it’s a terrible thing to do, and that i should confront M. i texted M and she immediately apologised. it felt fake, so i told her that i wanted a decent apology. she then started to play victim. she started saying things like “i don’t want more people hating me” i genuinely have no idea why she felt the need to tell him that.
it only gets worse. she then starts blaming ME. she said that i seem to be fine when my other two friends joke about it. she doesn’t seem to realise that i am much closer with them than i am with her. i told her that it’s okay when they do it because they only joke about me in front of me, and if they ever feel that they’ve offended me, they quickly apologise. i told her that i wasn’t comfortable with her telling people that i was a lesbian. she also told out other two friends, R and A. the four of us have a group chat there, and she messages there: “guys, OP isn’t a lesbo.”
yes. lesbo. she called me a lesbo. it’s such an offensive term and i told her that. she then proceeded to write, “*lesbian. fine? you are not a lesbian.” i was infuriated, but i decided that rather than saying anything else to her, it’d be better to block her instead. and so i did. she was being pretty mean to me in DMs when i was confronting her, so this might be the last of us. we had another huge argument a month ago, but she made it to be my fault and so i just ignored it and rekindled our friendship. this might be the last time i speak to her.
though, i can’t help but feel bad. when i think about it little more, i feel that i’m getting mad at something really petty.
tl;dr: friend told a guy she liked (who liked me) that i was a lesbian. she then proceeded to get mad at me because i seem to be fine when my other friends joke about it me.

cambridge weekly social meet
the 5th Saturday will take place at 1400 on 3rd jun 2023 on jesus green with the posibility that we may wonder off to the strawberry fair.
unfortunately our usual organiser is away this weekend so asked me to arrange it and after chatting with the regulars it seems everyone is in favour of meeting outdoors this time. Weather is supposed to be 19-21°c depending on who you ask so dont forget to wear sun block ^-^
The Cambridge Saturday Afternoon Meet is for: 1. All those Redditors that will ask and have asked how to make friends in Cambridge 2. All those Redditors that are facing down the barrel of another lonely weekend 3. All those Redditors that have nothing better to do on a saturday than to meet up with perfect redditor strangers (sounds a little dodgy i know, but its a friendly group) 4. anyone lacking social skills and/or a social group that want somewhere friendly to practice
Just one rule: be kind and respectful to others and dont be creepy.
We will be meeting just off park parade to hopefully avoid the spillover from the fair and ill update this post with how to find us
