Went through my garage, hit my BMW (which was parked in my garage), went through my kitchen, through my back wall and into the backyard. I have Home Insurance with USAA, so that's that. However I recently canceled my auto insurance on my BMW because I was preparing to deploy overseas and it would be sitting in the garage for an extended amount of time. I don't know if the driver was drunk or not. One of the policeman on site said that his family mentioned something about the driver having frequent seizures...
1) If the driver of the vehicle that drove through my house is uninsured (as am I), what should I do in regards to my BMW?
2) What options are available that aren't traditionally thought about?

Some things that might really be helpful for anyone reading this!!
Deadlines: The Coalition application will let you apply to an unlimited number of schools, and since you submit your writing supplement separately, you can often complete them after the application deadline, sometimes up to a month late. I didn't complete my Duke or Rice writing supplements. Without me asking, Duke extended my deadline to Feb. 1 and gave me a fee waiver, and Rice extended mine for about a week; Tufts also extended my deadline to Jan. 31. I'm definitely not trying to encourage anyone to submit everything late, but sometimes things happen.
Fly- in programs- if you apply to schools' fly-ins, it will count majorly for demonstrated interest and some will give you fee waivers, even if you aren't accepted (Rice and WashU). It's also a really fun experience as they tend to cover your travel expenses and provide housing, food etc, and you can get a feel for the campus and meet new people!
Additional Notes
I definitely would do a lot of things differently if I could go back in time...I started the whole process really late, a little bit in the spring of my junior year and then really starting to in the fall of my senior year. I also got burned out when trying to complete supplements for more competitive schools, and would often hit a dead end and wonder "why am I even trying with my stats?" and lo and behold, I left them incomplete. If I could do it again, I would have stopped worrying about the things I couldn't control and put forth my best effort to make what I could control the best that I could. I hit a mental block several times throughout the process and was very exhausted by the end.
As someone with ADHD I do get really disorganized with school, and I was never really someone who was the top of the class in grades and was never really a STEM- heavy person: my grades were typically A-s in English/history classes and Bs in STEM classes.
Since I have a high test score and lower GPA, I felt that I couldn't really predict where I would get in, contributing to me applying to so many colleges. I also didn't know if I wanted to go to a LAC or a university, which was another contributor. I'm very lucky that the application fees didn't pose a significant burden to me and am incredibly grateful that I received the opportunities I did.
I hope this information helps someone in the future (coming from someone who spent way too much time procrastinating scrolling on here lol), and congrats to everyone this year on app season almost being over!

I got a job offer today and once I accept it, they're going to send me the drug screening sheet and I'll have a certain amount of days to go complete a drug test. I'm not a habitual THC user, but I snagged some edibles during our spring break Colorado trip and I took one 10 mg edible every night last week (March 19-26th). So basically 60-70 mg all together. I'm a 5'5 female and about 140lb. I'm 5 days clean, but I'm curious if I should wait to accept the offer to postpone the drug test (I have 10 days to accept it). Someone told me to get a detox cleanse, and I'm curious if that's necessary for my situation and if anyone has prior experience. Any advice would be great. I've never had to worry about this before. To stop on Cup 2s in the snow takes some calculating; turning is even more interesting/fun. As I turned into the parking structure at approximately 0.14mph, the Cups did exactly what they’re supposed to do in the snow; go straight. Nothing mechanical was wrong and parts took fiveever to arrive. Now I won’t need to spend the entire spring picking rocks out of my intercooler before summer because the Wagner is getting replaced, too, along with radiator, bumper cover, grille, engine slash shield and all of my PPF. My advice is if you’re gonna get one of these, have a low deductible and maybe also just pick a new winter tire or take the bus if you’re on track tires and it snows 😂 |

I have never done a winter 14er (done several in the summer), but my friend and I plan to do quandary tomorrow. We have snowshoes, poles, & micro spikes and I know to bring basic necessities (first aid, extra layers, face coverings, snacks) Anything else I need to have for attempting a wintery mountain? We also have a few concerns: 1) the wind has been TERRIBLE. We will be driving from Colorado Springs in the morning, my weather app doesn’t say it’s supposed to be windy tomorrow and it’s inevitable for there to be wind on top of a mountain anyway, I just wanted some reassurance, should the recent extreme wind conditions be a concern? 2) there is a fire right outside of Florissant, so hwy 24 could potentially get closed down. Should we plan to take I-70 and add an hour rather than going that way through potentially hazardous conditions? We’ve tried to plan hiking Quandary about 4 weekends now and something has always popped up (weather, life stuff, etc) and I am just so eager to make it happen this time. Any insight is appreciated!

Super frustrating and disappointing. There was no coordination with the Congress Park Pickleball Club and no investigation on installing noise reduction fencing. They just up and announced it was being closed this Sunday. These courts do get very busy (as do all the courts around the city). And the plan this spring was to install lights and better access. Yet the Parks & Rec solution to noise complaints from neighbors is to not improve or provide better, more well placed courts, it's to close existing ones, scrap plans for new ones, and place a moratorium on new plans.
This is also the same Deputy Director who gave himself a 40k raise on tax payer dollars.
