Arsenal 22/23 Season Review

2023.06.04 15:37 ARSENAL_DAILYNEWS Arsenal 22/23 Season Review

Arsenal 22/23 A Season Review Part 1 Of 3: August-World Cup: A Stunning Start.
After a blistering start to the season, Arsenal had now managed just 4 goals in their previous 5 games, they needed to find their shooting boots again and quickly. They had the opportunity to do that at home to Nottingham Forest, but it didn’t look likely when Bukayo Saka was forced to leave the field, having been unable to shake off an early knock he picked up from the usual defensive treatment he received. Though even in the brief time he was on the field, Saka did notch an assist finding the head of Martinelli to give Arsenal a 1-0 lead. For the rest of the first half though, Arsenal struggled to re-find the killer instinct that had deserted them recently. In the second half, it returned, with Saka’s replacement Reiss-Nelson, on for his first league minutes of the season getting his first goal of the campaign, which will have done much-needed wonders for his confidence. 3 minutes later and Nelson had his second with Arsenal really flourishing now, the volleyed finish coming from a Jesus cross after a neat link-up between him and Ødegaard. 5 minutes later and Partey added yet more gloss to the scoreline, giving Nelson an easy assist, as this goal was all about the Ghanaian midfielder’s excellent strike, of a similar calibre to his one against Tottenham. Jesus got his second assist of the day when Ødegaard made it 5, twinkle-toeing his way into the box before letting fly into the top corner. This concluded Arsenal’s busy month of October which saw them in action nine times. Xhaka’s 3 goals in October took his total for the season up to 4, and he picked up the Arsenal player of the month for a second consecutive month.
Arsenal began November by bringing to a close their Europa League group campaign against FC Zurich, knowing a win would secure them top spot. Zurich was merely playing for pride, their chances of progressing were already over. Tierney gave Arsenal the lead in the 17th minute with a fine strike from outside the box, expert technique from the left-back giving the keeper no chance. Arsenal’s old problems returned however with their failure to kill the game, by passing up good chances in both halves. In the end, they had to sweat somewhat for their win, holding on whilst Zurich pushed desperately for a famous equaliser. Arsenal held firm though and with 5 wins from 6 games, they had secured their path through and knew they now wouldn’t have to worry about the Europa League again until March.
Next up for Arsenal was a trip to Stamford Bridge to face Graham Potter’s Chelsea, whose woes were just beginning, having lost 4-1 at his former club Brighton the previous week. Arsenal made all of the first-half chances, dominating possession. The best chance came with a move that began in Arsenal’s own penalty area, with sharp one-touch passing they were in Chelsea’s half in seconds, with the ball reaching Martinelli down the left flank, he cut inside and was inches away from finding the unmarked head of Gabriel Jesus. Had Jesus been able to connect, it would have gone down as surely the finest team goal of the season.
The second half continued in the same vein, with Arsenal’s press suffocating the Chelsea players, forcing them to give up possession time and time again. The visitors continued to push for an opening goal, and it eventually came just past the hour-mark when Saka’s corner beat everyone and looked to be on its way straight in until Gabriel made sure by hitting it into the roof of the net from on the goalline. Arsenal managed 14 shots to Chelsea’s 5 and should have won by more, but as 1-0 wins go away at Stamford Bridge, it could not have been much more comfortable or straightforward. On the rare occasions, Chelsea reached the final third, they had no idea how to progress the ball in order to create a dangerous situation and Arsenal was content to see the game out for an excellent away victory.
Arsenal’s time in the Carabao Cup was short-lived, ending just as it began at home to Brighton in the 3rd round. Nketiah gave Arsenal the lead, but it lasted just 7 minutes when former Gunner Danny Welbeck equalised from the spot. 2 unanswered second-half goals from Mitoma and Lamptey ensured Arsenal’s exit, but there was a feeling from many that the club had bigger targets this season than the League Cup. Due to the first-ever winter World Cup, the Premier League would be halted for six weeks after Arsenal’s 14th league game of the season, which would be away at Wolves. Earlier that day City had slipped up at home to Brentford, this presented Arsenal with a great opportunity to go into the World Cup 5 points clear at the top. The best chance of the first half went to Jesus after he’d done brilliantly to make room for a shot in the box. However his luck in front of goal had deserted him, this being his 11th appearance without a goal, his last one coming against Spurs. As usual, though, he was one of Arsenal’s best performers in the first half, with Saka and Martinelli more subdued than usual. Perhaps understandably, they seemed to be somewhat preoccupied with thoughts of the World Cup, and with it now so close they didn’t seem keen to risk injury with their usual dribbling runs.
So in the second half Arsenal needed someone to step up, and that man was Martin Ødegaard. With Norway having failed to qualify for the World Cup, Arsenal was his one and only focus, and he delivered a captain’s performance. The opening goal came when a clever pass from Jesus found Vieira who had replaced the unwell Xhaka, he squared it across the six-yard box having drawn the goalkeeper out, and Ødegaard beat Saka to the tap-in. The Norwegian made sure of the win with a quarter of an hour to go when good play from Martinelli allowed him to backheel a pass through to Zinchenko who was unmarked in the box, his cross was cleared as far as Martinelli who forced a save from Sa, but he could do nothing about Ødegaard’s follow-up, his touch and shot leaving the keeper with no chance.
There had been reluctance from some, Arsenal fans or otherwise to accept the team as a true title contender. This was a club that after all had not even qualified for the Champions League in 5 years. As well they had the youngest manager and youngest team in the league. However, more and more doubters were turning into believers as Arsenal backed up a win over Spurs by beating Liverpool, and went away to Chelsea and won. Now due to the World Cup being played mid-season, Arsenal would sit 5 points clear of the rest on Christmas Day, and at this point, their title credentials could no longer be denied. They had won 12 of a possible 14, and when the chance to go into World Cup 5 clearly came up, they held their nerve and got the job done away from home. The World Cup gave me the chance to reflect on the season Arsenal had thus far and it had undoubtedly been an outstanding one, with all reasonable expectations surpassed. This mid-point gave time to assess Arsenal’s key individual performers in the Premier League and there had been many stand-outs in that regard.

Arsenal Player Ratings Up To The 2022 World Cup Break:

Ramsdale 8/10- His reliability and quality with the ball at his feet is essential to the way Arsenal play, and there are few better in the country when playing out from the back than the young English keeper. His standout performance came against Leeds, with his back against the wall, he refused to concede a goal.
White 9/10- After a good first season at centre-back, White went up another gear in this right-back slot, showing excellent quality with the ball at his feet, and the defensive side of his game was never found wanting either. Arsenal’s November player of the month.
Saliba 9/10- It was thought the young centre-half was special before he’d even kicked a Premier League ball, but he somehow managed to exceed expectations in his first 14 league games in Arsenal colours. The club’s best defender in the first part of the season.
Gabriel 8/10- He began the season with a few sloppy mistakes, but quickly got up to the level of his teammates. A goal at Chelsea and a big performance at Wolves ensured Arsenal went into the break sitting pretty at the top.
Zinchenko 7/10- Sadly the Ukrainian was injured for half of Arsenal’s league games, but when available Zinchenko demonstrated some of his quality, with the promise of more to come.
Tomiyasu & Tierney 7/10- As reliable as you could wish your full-back deputies to be, injuries meant they were often called upon, especially the Japanese International, and he was always up to the task be it in his more accustomed right-back position, or when deputising at left-back.
Partey 9/10- Injuries in previous seasons had prevented Partey from ever really hitting his top level, his performances in the first part of this season showed the midfielders considerable class this campaign however. 2 outstanding goals vs Forest and most memorably Spurs were the icing on the cake.
Xhaka 9/10- Fairly or unfairly Xhaka seemed to typify much of what was wrong with Arsenal between 2016 and 2021, too often he appeared an average midfielder in an average side. Here he was reborn, in a new role which gave him more of an attacking license, he was contributing goals, and assists and Arsenal fans were seeing the leadership qualities of a man loving his football.
Ødegaard 9/10- After making his loan move permanent in the previous summer, the captain has continued to prove himself one of Arsenal’s best signings in recent times. Possessing the quality of Ozil without the flakiness, Ødegaard has rightfully become a real fan favourite.
Vieira 5/10- The 22-year-old arrived from FC Porto for £30M. Scored a beauty on his first league start, but often struggled with the pace and physicality of the league and brief substitute appearances have not given him much time to adapt. Finished with some grounds for optimism after coming on in the first half away at Wolves for the unwell Xhaka and performing reasonably well.
Saka 9/10- The darling of the Arsenal faithful, Saka has received rough treatment from opposition full-backs and little protection from match officials, but he is too brave, determined and talented to let this stop him from scoring, assisting and tormenting almost at will. He seems to be improving on an almost monthly basis which is scary.
Martinelli 9/10- Quickly formed a devastating partnership with fellow Brazilian Gabriel Jesus. His directness, pace, hunger and finishing qualities made him just as difficult to stop as Saka in the opening part of the season.
Jesus 9/10- He’s a striker who went 11 games without a goal, yet his contributions to the team are so vital he remained un-droppable. That is the uniqueness of Jesus, for the goals may have dried up, but his quality never did. Match after match, he was relentless in his refusal to give opposing defences a minute of peace. His technical ability has been the key ingredient in lifting Arsenal up to another level. Along with Saliba, Arsenal’s best player of the first part of the season.
Arteta 10/10- The managers’ contribution cannot go unmentioned. He has demanded high standards and set the conditions which have enabled them to be realised. This has led a club that has been outside the Champions League for five years to set a pace that not even Guardiola’s City could match. He has been the catalyst in making a divided and despondent fanbase the most passionately engaged in the league, uniting everyone behind his players and staff.

Impact of Binance’s Departure from the Canadian Market on Canadians

https://preview.redd.it/5k1x84svvz3b1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5dbbedbce777eea2c2a5e4a8fc3b93d32c98299d
In an increasingly digital world, cryptocurrency has taken its place as a major player in the global financial ecosystem. Leading the charge in this dynamic industry is Binance, one of the world’s largest and most influential cryptocurrency exchanges. So, when the news broke that Binance had decided to exit the Canadian market, it sent shockwaves through the community of Canadian crypto traders, investors, and blockchain enthusiasts. Lets dive into the implications of Binance’s withdrawal from the Canadian market, and explore the potential ways this move could negatively impact Canadians.

Cryptocurrency: A Brief Overview

Before we delve into the issue at hand, let’s briefly explain what cryptocurrency is and the role that Binance plays in this sector. Cryptocurrency is a digital or virtual form of currency that uses cryptography for security. This makes it incredibly secure and difficult to counterfeit. Bitcoin, introduced in 2009, was the first decentralized cryptocurrency, and since then, thousands of cryptocurrencies have been created, with varying degrees of acceptance, adoption, and value.
Cryptocurrency exchanges, like Binance, serve as digital marketplaces where traders can buy, sell, or exchange cryptocurrencies for other digital assets or traditional fiat currencies. Binance, in particular, has been a major player in this space since its launch in 2017, providing a platform for trading a wide variety of cryptocurrencies and offering a range of services that go beyond the basic trading function, such as staking, lending, and more.

The Implications of Binance’s Withdrawal

Loss of Access to a Wide Variety of Cryptocurrencies

Binance is renowned for offering one of the widest selections of cryptocurrencies on the market. With Binance’s departure, Canadian traders and investors lose access to this diverse selection, which can limit their exposure to the broader crypto market. While other Canadian exchanges offer popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, many smaller or less common cryptocurrencies (often referred to as “altcoins”) may not be available on these platforms. This means that for Canadians interested in these more niche markets, opportunities for investment and diversification will be more limited.

Higher Transaction Costs

Binance is known for its relatively low transaction costs, and its departure from the Canadian market could mean higher fees for Canadian crypto users. Other local exchanges, while compliant with Canadian law, may not be able to compete with the lower fee structure Binance was able to offer due to its larger global user base. This could potentially discourage new entrants from exploring cryptocurrency and increase costs for existing crypto investors and traders.

Impact on Liquidity

Liquidity, the ease with which an asset can be converted into cash without affecting the market price, is a critical factor in any financial market. Binance, given its size and volume of trades, provided significant liquidity in the cryptocurrency market. The absence of Binance could negatively impact the overall liquidity of the crypto market in Canada, possibly resulting in less efficient markets and wider bid-ask spreads.

Delay in Access to New Cryptocurrencies and Features

Binance is often one of the first exchanges to list new cryptocurrencies and implement new features. With the exchange no longer operating in Canada, Canadians may face delays in gaining access to new cryptocurrencies or innovative features until they are adopted by local exchanges. This could put Canadian crypto traders and investors at a disadvantage compared to their global counterparts.

Decreased Consumer Confidence

Lastly, Binance’s exit could decrease consumer confidence in the cryptocurrency market in Canada. When a major player like Binance leaves, it may cause some traders and investors to question the stability and future of the Canadian crypto market, leading to reduced participation and investment.

Navigating the Post-Binance Landscape

While the departure of Binance is a significant loss for the Canadian crypto community, it’s not the end of the road for cryptocurrency in Canada. In fact, this could present a ripe opportunity for local exchanges to step up and fill the void left by Binance.
To navigate this new landscape, Canadians might need to diversify their trading and investment platforms. They could consider spreading their activities across several local and international exchanges, ensuring they still have access to a wide variety of cryptocurrencies. Local exchanges such as NDAX, Bitbuy, and Shakepay, which comply with Canadian financial regulations, offer several popular cryptocurrencies and might expand their offerings in light of Binance’s exit.
The higher transaction costs present a hurdle, but they also open up opportunities for competitive pricing among existing exchanges. Competition could lead to lower fees over time as exchanges vie for market share. In the meantime, Canadians may need to account for these higher costs in their trading and investment strategies.
Liquidity could remain a concern, especially for less common cryptocurrencies. However, if existing exchanges can expand their user base and trading volumes, they may be able to mitigate some of these liquidity issues. In addition, decentralized exchanges (DEXs) like Uniswap or PancakeSwap, could be an alternative for those looking for liquidity, although these platforms come with their own risks and challenges.
Delayed access to new cryptocurrencies and features is a challenge that local exchanges will need to tackle. They could do this by actively seeking to list new cryptocurrencies and implement innovative features to attract users. Moreover, traders and investors can voice their interest in new currencies and features to incentivize quicker adoption by these exchanges.
While consumer confidence might be shaken in the short term, the Canadian crypto market can rebound by demonstrating robustness and adaptability in the face of this change. Regulatory bodies could also play a role in bolstering confidence by providing clear guidelines and protections for cryptocurrency users.
In conclusion, while Binance’s departure from the Canadian market undeniably has negative implications for Canadians, it also presents an opportunity for local exchanges to step up and for regulators to clarify their stance on cryptocurrencies. Despite the challenges, the future of the crypto market in Canada remains promising. With the right adaptations and strategies, Canadian traders and investors can continue to participate effectively and profitably in the dynamic world of cryptocurrencies.

Canadian Crypto Exchanges and the Blockchain Landscape: A Lost Opportunity

As we navigate the post-Binance landscape, it’s crucial to examine the broader implications of Binance’s withdrawal from Canada, particularly in light of Bybit’s exit as well. The underlying factors contributing to these decisions highlight the challenges Canadian cryptocurrency exchanges and the Canadian blockchain industry face, ultimately cutting Canadians off from a significant generational wealth opportunity. Moreover, the expansion of exchanges like Coinbase into Canada might not be the boon it initially appears to be.

Technical Development of Canadian Exchanges

Canadian exchanges have historically lagged behind their international counterparts in terms of technical development. Platforms like Binance and Bybit have consistently outpaced local exchanges in their speed of innovation, diversity of offerings, and user experience.
For instance, Canadian exchanges often have a narrower range of trading pairs and lack advanced trading features such as futures and options trading, leveraged trading, and staking services. Moreover, the application programming interfaces (APIs) provided by Canadian exchanges often do not support the level of functionality and efficiency demanded by algorithmic traders and institutional investors.
The withdrawal of Binance and Bybit, both offering a wide range of services and technologically advanced platforms, exposes this gap in the market. The technological edge these exchanges offered was a significant attraction for traders and investors, and their departure leaves a void that Canadian exchanges will struggle to fill in the short term.

Project Jasper and the Failure to Deliver a CBDC

The Bank of Canada initiated Project Jasper back in 2016, aiming to explore the feasibility of a central bank digital currency (CBDC). However, despite being a pioneer in this area, Canada has yet to deliver a CBDC, putting it behind other nations that have made significant strides in this area, such as China with its digital yuan.
The lack of progress on Project Jasper raises concerns about Canada’s commitment to embracing blockchain technology and digital currencies. It presents a missed opportunity for Canada to position itself as a leader in the digital currency space and may contribute to the perceived instability and uncertainty that led to Binance’s withdrawal.

Regulatory Scrutiny and Missed Wealth Opportunities

Binance’s official statement reveals a troubling reality: regulatory scrutiny in Canada has reached a level that major crypto businesses find untenable. This trend effectively cuts Canadians off from the significant wealth opportunities that the crypto market presents.
While regulations are crucial to protect consumers and prevent illicit activities, they should ideally strike a balance, encouraging innovation and growth. A restrictive regulatory environment can stifle the growth of the crypto industry and dissuade international businesses from operating in Canada, limiting the options available to Canadian consumers and investors.

Coinbase’s Expansion into Canada: A Mixed Blessing

While some may view Coinbase’s expansion into Canada as a positive development, it may not be as beneficial as it first appears. Coinbase has been criticized for its higher fees, relative to other exchanges, which could increase the cost of trading for Canadians.
Moreover, Coinbase’s complaint about Binance’s USD stablecoin (BUSD) surpassing its USD Coin (USDC) in market cap, which subsequently triggered an SEC investigation, reflects a level of competition that may not be in the best interests of consumers. The resulting end of BUSD distribution by PAXOS following this investigation means a loss of choice for users who favored this stablecoin.

The Future of the Canadian Crypto Industry

With Binance and Bybit exiting the Canadian market, the future of the Canadian crypto industry is at a critical juncture. The growth and development of this industry hinge on the ability of regulators to strike a balance between consumer protection and encouraging innovation.
Canada’s blockchain industry has the potential for enormous growth and the capacity to generate significant wealth for Canadians. However, for this potential to be realized, regulators, exchanges, and the broader industry must work together. Striking the right balance in regulatory oversight is crucial. Too stringent, and it stifles innovation and deters international players. Too lenient, and it risks consumer protection and market integrity.
For Canadian exchanges, this is a time of both challenge and opportunity. The departure of Binance and Bybit undoubtedly creates a void, but it also presents an opportunity for these platforms to step up and meet the market’s needs. They will need to invest in technological development, enhance their offerings, and improve the overall user experience to compete effectively in the global market.
Furthermore, the expansion of Coinbase into Canada calls for careful examination. While it provides another platform for Canadians, its higher fees and the role it played in the SEC investigation into BUSD suggest that its presence may not be entirely beneficial for Canadian users. These factors should be taken into account by users when choosing a platform for their trading and investment activities.
Moreover, the slow progress on Project Jasper and the lack of a CBDC reflect a missed opportunity for Canada to establish itself as a leader in the digital currency space. To keep pace with global developments and ensure Canadians are not left behind, it is essential that such initiatives are pursued with greater urgency and commitment.
Lastly, the broader Canadian blockchain industry could also play a role in the post-Binance landscape. Other sectors of the industry, such as blockchain development companies, crypto mining operations, and blockchain-based startups, can contribute to the growth and diversification of the industry. By fostering an ecosystem that encourages innovation and growth in the blockchain space, Canada can ensure that it remains a significant player in the global crypto market.
In conclusion, while the withdrawal of Binance and Bybit from the Canadian market poses significant challenges, it also presents an opportunity for introspection, growth, and development. By addressing the issues highlighted by these withdrawals and taking strategic steps to advance its crypto industry, Canada can ensure that its citizens continue to have access to the wealth opportunities presented by the dynamic and ever-evolving world of cryptocurrencies.

Impact on Canadian Blockchain Startups

Binance’s withdrawal could also have an impact on the Canadian blockchain startup ecosystem. With the exit of this key player, new startups could face increased challenges in raising capital, particularly through Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) or token sales. Binance had been instrumental in driving liquidity and providing a platform for new tokens, and its absence may slow down the capital raising process for Canadian startups.
Furthermore, Binance provided support to many startups through its incubator and accelerator programs. The exit might mean fewer resources and opportunities for early-stage Canadian blockchain startups, potentially slowing down innovation in the sector.
However, this also creates an opportunity for local venture capital firms and angel investors to step up their investments in the blockchain space. By increasing support for homegrown startups, they can help drive innovation and growth in the Canadian blockchain sector.

The Role of Decentralized Finance (DeFi) in the Canadian Market

Decentralized finance (DeFi) could play a significant role in filling the void left by Binance and Bybit. DeFi platforms, built on blockchain networks like Ethereum, offer a wide range of financial services, including lending, borrowing, and trading, without the need for intermediaries.
The advantage of DeFi is that it is open to anyone with internet access, irrespective of geographical restrictions. This means that Canadian users could potentially access a range of services similar to those offered by Binance and Bybit through DeFi platforms.
However, DeFi also comes with its own set of risks, including smart contract vulnerabilities and a higher level of complexity, which might be challenging for less tech-savvy users. Also, DeFi platforms are relatively unregulated, which might pose regulatory and legal challenges. As such, while DeFi offers promising opportunities, users must proceed with caution and perform thorough due diligence.
In conclusion, while the Canadian crypto landscape is facing significant challenges due to the exit of Binance and Bybit, it is also presented with unique opportunities for growth and innovation. It’s clear that Canada’s blockchain sector is at a critical juncture, and its future will depend on the steps taken by exchanges, startups, investors, and regulators in the coming months and years. Despite the hurdles, the potential for a vibrant, thriving crypto industry in Canada remains, provided it can successfully navigate these complex issues.

2023.06.04 13:22 shecanbromehard All Killer no Filler, What a Show

Started off with a fast paced opener with Ospreay and Archer.
The only meaningless match was LIJ vs J5G but that didn't drag.
The Jr tag title match was fun and the turn from Moloney was great and made sense.
ZSJ proved he is still king of TV with another fun match with no fluff.
The 3 way tag match was one close to my favourite match of the card. Having another team made the HOT stuff not too annoying.
The reveal of a new phase of BC with Kidd and Coughlin was great. I actually wanted them to join an expanding Strong Style but this LA Dojo led BC could lead to some interesting stuff.
An exciting G1 announcement with some cool surprises.
The Never title match was awesome with babyface ELP and the right punt of BC interference which HOT need to learn.
JR Title match was great and unpredictable. Watomania will soon run wild but he is no longer floundering. He will rise to the top soon.
The trios match was simply excellent, everyone stood out. Whilst people were expecting Mox vs Okada or more developments in the story with Shota and Okada or even Shota and Mox we instead got a Danielson reveal.
Fantastic main event. Both looked like stars. Tsuji showed all the amazing things he could do. Then SANADA shows how he is a great Babyface champion who used his smarts to beat the monster rookie.
TLDR: Two great matches announced for FD2, SANADA proved he can be the Fighting ace-like babyface champ, ELP, Finlay, Wato and the new BC guys shone in their new roles. Most importantly amazing wrestling and moments no fluff.

2023.06.04 12:25 2deep4u What are the pros/cons to using a LED panel style light vs the standard circular ones?

Just wondering what everyone’s thoughts are
Currently looking at the GVM 1200 LED lighting set up vs the amaran 300 C lighting set up
The GVM is significantly cheaper than the amaran but they’re panels, which I imagine makes things like diffusing and putting on attachments kinda difficult

2023.06.04 12:06 sadturtle12 Question from newbie with dog

I recently started thinking about how stupid maintaining a lawn is and started researching better alternatives that eventually led me to this sub. I am very intrigued by moving to a more natural space vs having a lawn. My biggest question is for people with dogs. My dog loves the grass. She loves to lay in it, rub her face in it, and roll in it. If I let her she would sit outside from sun up to sun down. What would be a more natural alternative to grass that would still give my dog her fix? Is there anything else besides clover? My issue with clover is how the color rubs off on everything and my dog is as white as you can possibly get so she gets dirty really easily.

Daily Minors Quick-Notes 6/3/23 - A Concerning Early Exit in Eugene
Vaun Brown left Saturday’s game early, a couple of innings after getting hit by a pitch, leading to concerns about him losing more time this season to injury. Meanwhile, a huge bullpen meltdown hurts Sacramento, and Victor Bericoto moves into a tie for the team lead in home runs.

Sacramento Notes:
  • A big bullpen blowup changed this game, as a 4-2 lead quickly turned to 11-4 deficit from the 6th-7th innings. Sacramento had jumped out to a lead with a David Villar RBI single in the first, and while tied 1-1, Sacramento scored two more in the 4th on a Ford Proctor single and a Will Wilson groundout, with another run on the 5th on a Villar double. But a 6th inning grand slam highlighted a 5-run inning, and Tacoma added four more.
  • The leading Sacramento hitter was Luis Matos, who was 3-for-5 with three singles. That pushes his Sacramento batting average up to .405, as it’s Matos’ 5th straight game with multiple hits. With one strikeout today, he now has six strikeouts to five walks in 16 games.
https://twitter.com/RiverCats/status/1665204115973058560?s=20
  • At first base, David Villar went 2-for-4 with a double and a strikeout. Villar has multiple hits in three of his last four games (going hitless in his other game), going 8-for-20 (.400) with two doubles and two home runs. In 12 games, Villar now has three doubles and four home runs with a batting line of .313/.400/.625.
  • Michael Gigliotti went 1-for-3 with a triple and a walk. It was Gigliotti’s first triple of the season, to go along with eight doubles and two home runs over 39 games. He has 22 walks to 26 strikeouts leading to a line of .244/.358/.366.
https://twitter.com/RiverCats/status/1665203676275785728?s=20
  • Starting pitcher Tristan Beck returned to Sacramento, going a single inning, giving up a run without any hits, on two walks, a hit batter, and a strikeout. Beck had been in San Francisco since April 20th, where he’d posted a 4.10 ERA in ten games. He now has a 3.77 ERA in four appearances at Triple-A Sacramento.
  • Melvin Adón had the roughest of appearances, giving up a season-high seven runs on six hits and two walks in just 0.2 innings, including giving up the grand slam. It’s Adón’s third game this season out of 19 in which he’s given up at least five runs, and has 23 walks to 33 strikeouts in 24.0 innings.

AA: Erie 5, Richmond 0

Richmond Notes:
  • Richmond was just beaten soundly with a rough offensive day, and a notably worrying player out with a possible injury. Richmond got just six hits, with no extra-base hits, in a scoreless game. Meanwhile, starter Kai-Wei Teng had his shortest outing of the season, giving up three runs in the first inning, and Richmond never caught up.
  • Vaun Brown’s day ended early on a 0-for-1 day with a HBP and his first Double-A steal. Brown was hit in the 3rd inning, but did stay in the game to steal a base and didn’t leave until the middle of the 6th, with no obviously apparent immediate reason. Perhaps after being hit in the arm, it began to swell up a bit over a few innings, which hopefully indicates it’s nothing serious. Brown has a .378/.465/.676 batting line in 10 games at Richmond, and now has a total of six steals in 19 games at three different levels.
  • Carter Williams was the only Squirrel with multiple hits, going 2-for-4. It was Williams’ second straight 2-hit game, and over a 6-game hitting streak with three multi-hit games. He has a .252/.304/.417 batting line with two doubles and five home runs in 31 games at Double-A this season.
  • Starting pitcher Kai-Wei Teng gave up three runs in a season-short 2.0 innings, on two hits and a season-high four walks with three strikeouts. After a strong first five starts, Teng has struggled since, with his ERA moving up from 2.33 to 5.54 in the five starts since. Teng now has 55 strikeouts to 18 walks in 37.1 innings
  • At the end of the game, Blake Rivera bucked his recent trend with a strong game, with 2.0 scoreless outings, allowing three hits, no walks, and three strikeouts. It’s Rivera’s first game without allowing a walk since May 5th. He had not allowed a walk in his first six games of the season, and had allowed at least one walk eight of his next nine games. He now has 27 strikeouts to 19 walks in 21.1 innings.

High-A: Eugene 5, Vancouver 3

Eugene Notes:
  • Eugene picked up a 5-3 win despite getting outhit 10-9. They were helped thanks to two home runs, by Victor Bericoto and Aeverson Arteaga, and a two double by game Edison Mora.
  • Victor Bericoto went 2-for-4 with a walk and his eighth home run of the season. That moves him into a tie with Luis Toribio, who hasn’t played since May 23rd. Over 46 games, Bericoto now has eight doubles, one triple, and one home run with 17 walks and 38 strikeouts.
  • Aeverson Arteaga was 1-for-3 with his own home run, his 6th of the year, with a walk. It’s Arteaga’s first home run since he hit three home runs in three straight games from May 20-May 23rd. Arteaga has a .208/.308/.393 batting line with six home runs to go with 10 doubles and three triples.
  • DH Edison Mora was 2-for-4 with two doubles on the night. In 14 games at Eugene, Mora now has three doubles and one home run (which came yesterday). He has a batting line of .130/.216/.261 in Eugene.
  • Left fielder Carter Howell was 2-for-4 with two singles and a walk. Howell has been very successful in his first week up in High-A. Howell is 9-for-21 (.429) with a double and a triple, with one walk to three strikeouts.
  • Nick Sinacola took the start, allowing a run in 4.0 innings, on two hits and no walks, with five strikeouts. It’s Sinacola’s best start by far out of his past five, as in his other four starts he’d allowed at least four runs in each. He now has 52 strikeouts to 13 walks in 38.0 innings.
  • Ben Madison gave up a run in 2.0 innings in relief, on three hits and no walks (with a wild pitch), notching two strikeouts. Madison has a 4.15 ERA over 15 games, with 42 strikeouts to 15 walks in 26.0 innings.

Low-A: Fresno 5, San Jose 4

San Jose Notes:
  • San Jose blew a late lead on the way to this loss, with four errors playing a significant role in them. Fresno and San Jose each scored a run in the first inning, but San Jose jumped out to a lead with three runs in the 5th. But both the 6th and 7th innings for Fresno led off with a San Jose error, leading to four unearned runs that gave the lead to the Grizzlies.
  • Diego Velasquez struck out in the 7th innings, which broke a streak of 11 straight plate appearances in which he’d gotten on base. Overall, Velasquez was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk on the game. Velasquez now has a .331/.437/.436 batting line, with 11 doubles to two home runs, and 25 walks to 33 strikeouts.
  • Center fielder Turner Hill was 2-for-5 with a pair of singles and a steal, his first. In 3 games since joining San Jose, Hill has 4-for-13 (.308) with a double, and no walks to one strikeout.
  • Making a rehab appearance was DH Joc Pederson, who was 0-for-3 with a sacrifice fly. It was Pederson’s first game since May 12th in the big leagues, where he was hitting .235/.351/.494.
https://twitter.com/SJGiants/status/1665171199725301762?s=20
  • Shortstop Jose Ramos was 1-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base. Ramos had a rough May, batting .179 on the month, but has gone 2-for-7 with two walks and two strikeouts in his two games since the start of June.
  • Starter Miguel Yajure gave up a run on three hits with a walk, and struck out four. In his four games since he got started on his season since mid-May, he’s struck out 13 with three walks allowed in 9.0 innings.
  • Reliever Tyler Vogel struck out three in 2.0 innings without allowing a baserunner. Vogel now has a 3.57 ERA with 31 strikeouts to 15 walks in 22.2 innings.

2023.06.04 11:18 MacroDragon1 What drove USD/PLN fall from 5.0 to 4.2?

Season 2 of "Winter is coming to Europe" approaches😱
What caused the major rally in 🇵🇱Polish Zloty (PLN) vs the 🇺🇸USD since last September?
According to the model we used, the main factors were:
🔹️Eurozone confidence 🔹️corporate credit 🔹️risk aversion 🔹️China / EM stress 🔹️USD liquidity
Underpinning the first three factors were energy markets and gas in particular.
After the 10x increase, subsequent fall in natural gas (and electricity prices⚡️) alleviated lots of stresses in Europe.
USD/PLN fell from 5.0 to 4.2 now.
Is this an opportunity to buy USD/PLN?

2023.06.04 10:50 gamer0mega Comparing liquid adhesives

Did anyone compare liquid adhesives? I'm interested in E8000 vs B7000 vs T7000.
How does each glue perform on phone displays? How do they handle heat? How do they sustain over time? How water resistant are they? Which of them glues the strongest?
I'm currently using b7000, but I've seen quite a few reports that b7000 falls off over time.

2023.06.04 10:08 RestlessTome Take Out The Trio, Insert...

Personally, my favorite seasons of BtVS are 3 and 5. While season 2 had a very high peak, it had too many low points to be my favorite. Season 3 was filled with great episodes and had nearly zero weak ones. Season 5 was like a long-running story, with almost every episode contributing toward the finale. It was so satisfying.
Moving on to season 6 after that, I was a little disappointed to be honest. There were still some gems, episodes-wise, but overall it wasn't that great. I think the main reason for that was that the 'Big Bads' were awful. Now, before you say anything, I know the writers have said that real life was the Big Bad in season 6, but I always thought that was kind of a cop out. A great villain had almost always made seasons better before (Angelus, The Mayor, Glory). Imo, it was a terrible choice to go with Warren, Andrew, and Jonathan. You could have had them as side villains, but we really needed an actual antagonist. And, no, I don't want to count Dark Willow. I'm talking about a season-long villain.
So, with that in mind, who would you summon up that you think could have made this season that much more exciting? Over the years, I have thought of multiple candidates. For example, Rack could have been a more complex villain, teaming up with Amy possibly, and could have been more involved with Willow becoming Dark Willow. You could also have had a group of witches/warlocks to fit in with the magic-themed season. Maybe have Tara play a bigger, more active role in the season arc, showing her worth as a witch. I really think she deserved more than just being an unlucky victim that led to Willow's turn to evil.
Another possibility could have been for the other hell gods from Glory's dimension to show up. Maybe one of them could have escaped from their dimension while the portal opened for a few minutes at the end of season 5? They could have been seeking Glory, thinking she was inside one of the Scoobies' body. Jinx (best minion ever) could have reappeared to seek vengeance for GLORIFICUS too!
Also, can I just say that I have always been disappointed that we didn't get a big team up between the Scoobies and the Fang Gang (from Angel). It would have been awesome to see all of the characters from both shows teaming up against a terrific new big bad. That BtVS Big Bad could have been allied to Wolfram & Hart, giving a reason to Angel's group to join up with the Scooby Gang. It's not like not having Holtz in Angel would have been much of a loss anyway.
What do you all think? Any original ideas for a better Big Bad in season 6?

2023.06.04 09:57 Ill-Ad5218 Importance of decarboxylation - Cannabinoids in Raw Cannabis vs Decarbed Product - Benefits & Differences Between Cannabinoids Exsisting in Natrual Form vs. Decarboxylized Cannabinoids

Decarboxylation is a very important step in the process of making a cannabis concentrate. In short and blunt lamens terms decarboxylation is heating of cannabis to activate the appropriate cannabinoids. Heat and cold are the Extraction Technicians best friend, when controlled for. THCa is the naturally occurring form of THC exsisting in raw cannabis form where as THC is not present in raw cannabis. THCa is tetrahydracannabinolic acid, THC being the former word less acid, Tetrahydracannabinol.
The most important reason behind decarbing is the activation of the acid groups of compounds into their psychotropic active forms. While there are medicinal and therapeutic benefits to THCa and other Acid forms of cannabinoids, they are not therapeutic via combustion and can only be used to induce immediate medicinal therpaeutic effect in transdermal absorption, edibles, rso, tinctures etc. Though extended lomg term benefits of THCa have been suggested by studies. THCa is not psychotropic however. Very few psychoactive psychotropic benefits can be experienced from raw cannabis flower prior to decarboxylation.
Decaroxylation is one of the most important steps in cannabis concentrate processing, but is a part of cannabis use regarldess of How it is used. Decarboxylation is the addition of heat to raw cannabis or cannabis flower that has been curred. This torches the cannabis flower and upon reaching its flash point around 315° F approximately, the THCa loose a single carbon atom Carboxyl group 👉 (-COOH) while holding onto a hydrogen atom.
The atomic make up of THCa is 4 Oxygen, 30 Hydrodgen, and 22 Carbon atoms. We can see that decarbing causes the loss of 2 Oxygen atoms, 1 hydrogen, and 1 carbon atom. This is known as carbon dioxide, 1 carbon, di-2 oxide 1 hydrogen atom. Removal of said carboxyl group causes an approximately 12% reduction in THCa and converts to active THC.
This process can happen as I mentioned from combustion of plant material reaching the flash point of THC at approximately 320°F. It can also take place in a much more delicate manner whereby the THCa is converted to THC for use in products which will not undergo combustion. These are your edibles, tinctures, Rick Simpson Oil, topicals etc. These require that the THCa be ran through a decarboxylation process via lab techniques. However, the consumed compound in edibles and RSO is THC.
THCa does not bind to the receptors which are the main parts activating the endocannabinoid system, aka ECS. The ECS is a largely not understood homeostatic process involving the peropheral and nervous systems. THCa has a shape and size that prevents it from binding to CB1 or CB2 receptors. THC however has the key to both receptors.
There is not much study that has been conducted on THCa, largely thanks to the little amount of study done on cannabis. Meaning that which has been done has been on the seemingly most pertinent parts of the plant to understand given its possible recreational and inherent medicnal stance in the western World.
THCa is quite interesting in that studies have shown it to be directly beneficial to the reduction of pain by causing inhibition of COX-1 and Cox-2 enzymes. Both of said enzymes have potential to increase inflimation, pain, & fever. The interesting thing is the usefulness I have heard family and friends speak to, that being the application of topicals. I always wondered how in the world a topical would be beneficial for someone like my aunt, who smoke upwards of an ounce a week and uses pens and dabs. She finds the anti inflammirory and pain relieving properties of topical absorption of THCa extremely beneficial. She suffers a multitude of issues traditionally thought of to be treated by cannabis like gastroporesis, fibromyalgia, and inflimation associated pain.
The medicinal and recreational benefits of THC vs THCa differ darastically. THCa is not psychotropic, or as I often refer to it as psychoactively psychedelic. But has a multitude of medicnal applications through topical transdermal absorption, juicing of cannabis leaves, plant, and flower, rso, and other edibles.
THCa treats neurodegenrative diseases such as alzheimers disease, interesting given that CBD quells seizure activity in certain nerodivergent disorders. THCa is also anit spasmodic, meaning it stops muscele shaking in diseases like Parkinson disease. It also somewhat counterintuitive as an anti proliferative, considering the proliferative nature of sesquiterpenes. Said Anit proliferative attributes making it beneficial in prevention of prostate cancers.
THCa is also anti emetic to treat nausea vomiting etc and induce apetite & aid reduction in nausea. It is also analgesic in nature which means it is a pain killer. Finally like most compounds in cannabis THCa is an antioxidant that protects one from and reverses the damage caused by free radicals.
THC in addition to the plethora of medicinal applications of THCa, we have the medicinal viability of THC. Again none of this is accepted by the FDA and much comes from studies of cannabis from around the world as US peer reviewed research wasn't allowed in the US untill 2022. Atleast NOT RESEARCH without FDA manipulation forcing researchers to use cannabis from the University of Mississippi grown by government contractors to ensure low quality cannabis and sub par quality. This was the product available for study by peer reviewed researchers, ensuring FDAs plausible deniablilty while simultaneously actively controlling ability to produce results other than null. This backing down by the FDA is why we see so many synthetic cannabinoids hitting the market now. We're actually able to study the cannabis actually being used, though the restrictions are still a bit uncalled for.
The benefits of THC actually do differ from THCa. I didn't know this for the longest time. I always thought that THC was simply decarboxylIzed THCa. THC can assist with the treatment of opioid addiction, ya know, the way addicts who've suffered from the disease for years have suggested that the plant helps. For decades individuals on methadone maintainence treatment or another form of medicated assisted Treatment, aka MAT like suboxone, subtuex, or sublicaid which are all partial opioid agonists, save methadone as it is a full agonist. The Marijuana is said to dissuade the desire for reward seeking by allowing a less intense non addictive reward to Be given to the brain via THC.
Studies have actually shown a statistically significant difference in completion of opioid maintainence programs and relapse therein or total relapse correlated to THC use. This use is said to be decreasing desire to activate that 'burnt-in' reward system pathway. Essentially yes it let's the patient get high without axtivating those addictive pathways. This is supported by studies like the one I often discuss regarding injection of Beta Myrcene in Mice. Interestingly a study performed on Beta myrcene outside of cannabis, subcutaneous and intra peritoneal injection of cannabis derived beta myrcene led to analgesia comparable to prescription opiates.
The amazing find imo is that while it produced similar analgesic effects, it took an unknown pathway which caused analgesia but didn't exhibit the addictive properties of opioid Mu receptor activation. The studies insinuate both the application and medicinal viability of myrcene outside and likely within the whole of cannabis. Remember the whole is more than sum of its parts. AS well as the fact that THERE maybe isn't much receptor activation leadiNg to addictive properties, but RATHER, the pathway to the mu receptor causes the addictive properties.
THC has also been shown to have a strong Correlation to increased Metabolic output, which has a multitude of health benefits that most certainly don't abIDE by THE social niceties of todayS society. Cannabis use can produce THC benefit can lessen possibility of diet related obesity. The THC has actually been shown to be correlated with decrease in Body Mass Index as outdated as the BMI is said to be in modern culture. In addition THC has been correlated to A decrease in likliehood of diet associated diabetes.
THC also exhibits the characteristic of encouraging Vasodialation which is how the pressure in the eyes is releived for Glaucoma patients. Vasodiallation is the diallation of blood vessels, aka opening them up. This causes a decrease in blood pressure. However, strains with potent beta myrcene levels can effect the way in which the THC works. When THC is used with Beta caryophyllene in that form, not trans caryophyllene which is the most common form of beta caryophyllene and myrcene together, the THC enhances sedative effects in the potency of the onset brought on by beta caryophyllene sedation enhanced via myrcene.
Myrcene alone causes proliferation of THC across the blood brain n barrier leading to imcreased absorption of THC and increased activation of the CB1 receptors. This increases the psychotropic ability of the cannabis. THC potency can also be controlled with the application of various combinations of terpenes, namely related to beta caryophyllene and beta myrcene.
For example, that intensification of cb1 receptor activity can be quelled using the dietary nature of the dietary cannabinoid Beta Caryophyllene, by ingesting small amounts of black pepper cernals. These are high in Beta caryophyllene and as it is also a dietary cannabinoid meaning it can enter the endocsnnabnoid system througj the stomach and interacts with cannabis compounds active in the ECS. This calms the psychotropic Intensity calming paranoia & anxiety.
What is interesting and leads to deep sometimes heated discussion is that THC is also anxiolytic. Obviously heated given the intensification of THC via myrcene in a sativa lacking beta or trans caryophyllene. THCa is shown in studies in 2017 to be a more effective anti inflammitory than CBD when treating certain gastrointestinal disorders, specifically Irritable bowel syndrome, chrons disease, and ulcerative colitis.
So what does it mean when you see a small amount of THC in the product but higher levels of THCa? That ofcourse is a traditional confirmation of analysis.
First, it is very possible that the confirmation of analysis testing if using gas Chrometography that the THC may be underestimated, making for a more potent product than labeled....though these differences would be so Minute they likely wouldn't be noted by a person using the product. Maybe someone sensitive to THC.
Ever notice how there is typically some level of THC usually below 1% while your THCa tests around 79% or 78%. When testing cannabis products, when using Gas Chrometography the amount of THCa that converts to THC is 70%, but the THCa is not measurable using this method due to the temperature decearboxylizing the THCa to its psychotropic form.
Gas Chrometography combusts the material into a gassesous form and runs this gas through filtration which is able to measure the compound levels. I Showed below a picture diagram showing these systems. Because this is the "decarbed" product meaning heat was applied to convert the tetrahydracannabinolic acid. The THC is all that can be measured using this approach, not the THCa and only 70% of THCa is converted in this process. However knowing that 70% of THCa converts to THC we can sus out the levels of both using this approach.
It is impossible to know what that initial amount of THCa was of which 70% gets converted. Cannabis confirmation of analysis testing is very complex and has many seeming double negatives and odd measuremnet standards. One of these as a good example is less than the limit of quantitation. This means that the compound is present but can't be measured in accurate levels.
Liquid chrometography is a secondary method used to produce the confirmation of analysis you find on most states cannabis Product, atleast for the medicinal cannabis products in my state. Liquid chrometography takes advantage of a universal formula used to determine the amount of THCa that gets converted to THC.
The Universal Mathematical formula is as follows.
THC TOTAL= (%THCa) X 0.877 + (%THC)
If we remember looking back, approximately 12% of THCa is lost in the extraction process, during decarboxylation. That approximates at 0.877 which is equivalent to 87.7%. 87.8 + 12 leaves 99.8%. I am not exactly certain about the .2% leftover. I will update when i do learn ablut this fact. When the carboxyl group is removed and hydrogen atom preserved a 12% reduction occurs in THCa and other active cannabinoids, those exsisiting as an acid naturally like CBGa are converted as well.
This is how the ACTUAL levels are measured in order to understand the real potnecy of the product your using. THCa for example require a temperature exposure of 220° F for 30-45 mins before decarbing begins. The key for some decarbing processes is to manipulate atmospheric pressures to lower the boiling points and flash points of cannabinoid temperatures in order to ensure the partial flashing over (that is decarbing) takes place but doesn't degrade the product. Control of atmospheric pressure is necessary so that terpenes are not evaporated as some terpnenes begin to flash over at right around 100°F. A rotovap is one way this is done for which there is a diagram below as well, showing the liquid bath and erlyn myer flask (flask with bulbous bottom). Or in a VTA wipe decarboxylationprocess. .
THCa decarbs at approximately 220° F and CBDa decarbs at approximately 245°F, exposure time being approximately 90 minutes. To keep terpenes from evaporating it is necessary to extend the length of time one runs decarbozylation process in order to lower the temperature. A chart exsists to show heat vs time and the relative output thereof i included below. According to my research the optimal temperature for THCa decarboxylation is between 252° & 293°F.
If you plan to exsist on the Recreational market as a processor of cannabis or as an individual processing your own cannabis, decarboxylation is absolutely necessary to compete with big indisytry and make cannabis product containing desired terpenes.
While decarbing can be done ignoring the evaporation of terpenes, which is why there is the issue of adding terpenes in some processing it is best to try to keep these terps especially if competing In a state where medicinal multi million dollar industry is operating.

2023.06.04 08:46 PiggyMcoof Article 22: Mimic

Kona gave everyone a tour of his base. When he was done, it had become night. "It's nighttime, I recommend everyone gets a bit of sleep. We don't want to work on this project tired." Kona said. When everyone was asleep, a figure explored the lab and temple below. This figure is blended to look like Ron but yet isn't Ron. Kona saw this on his camera and grabbed his blowtorch. Kona went into the room Ron was sleeping in and used his blowtorch on Ron's hand. "OWW!!! What was that for?" Ron says as his hand was burnt. Kona responds "You went downstairs without permission. Of all it had to have been you." Kona remarked. "You fried my hand. Isn't that a bit much?" Ron asks. "Well, I guess I have been known for getting carried away in situations like this, but still you shouldn't have been down there." Kona replied. Ron was shown the footage and just ran outside where the swarm of infected grew. In the night Ron had abandoned everyone at Kona's house and started going on his own. The frigid temperatures were nothing for his suit and helped soothed his burn to the point where it just needed to physically heal. Some time later Annie and Duocara went down to the downstairs temple to clear the way for everyone. The first thing they encountered was the thousands year old pharaoh. His claws were long and sharp... He went straight for Annie. Annie tried her best to dodge the pharoah's blows. Duocara's face switched to it's blue sad state "Nobody touches friend..." Duocara said in his robotic voice. Ron was walking through a snowy forest when he found a couple of old Festive (or not so festive because this timeframe isn't anywhere near the holiday season) Cabins. Ron knocked on the door and an older wolf opened the door to greet him. "Wanda Wolf..." Ron said in awe and shock. "Yes it is me. It's been so long since the last we've met hasn't it?" She said admiring how long it's been. "You know when you officers locked me up in the slammer." Before Ron could respond to that, she said "Through my time in there, I've learned a few things. But the struggle of money was a big hassle. Regardless, I hope my children are doing well." Ron paused and asked "Willow and William?" "Correct, do you know what happened to them?" She asked. "I do but unfortunately nothing good." Ron told her. "William died and Willow as far as I know sacrificed herself to an infected." Ron says while taking his hat off and holding in in both hands in front of him, like what he did in front of Willow. "Well, before I loose myself, I want to show you to my friend." Wanda told him. Wanda and Ron walked into a room where there was an elderly tiger staring at a drawing. "What are you look at?" Ron asked the old tiger focuses his eyes on Ron. "It's a drawing my son made of himself, after I haven't heard much of him after he left." he answered. "What made him leave you? And what's your name?" Ron asks "My name's Tank and my son left us because of the things my wife did to him, I remember sneaking him out of the house when she was asleep because I didn't want to see him live life suffering like I did, we got him enlisted to the military and that's the last I've seen of him." He said you could tell he's being fully honest. At that moment Annie found what looked like Ron. With his head down and his back faced towards Annie then Annie says "Ron, there you are, why did you run off? It's okay to tell me anything and you know that." She said in her nice gentle voice. But the reaction she got wasn't so nice and gentle... At that time Kona came down to the temple to see what was going on. That's when he tapped a golem statue made it come to life. "Gryffyn, catch." The Ron-like being said and soon enough Annie and Kona had been picked up by the Gryffyn. Duocara saw this but the Ron-like entity pulled several gears out of Duocara's chest resulting in Duocara breaking. Eventually Annie and Kona were tied together and brought to a dangerous place... The military base of Outpost Echo. Hanging in the cave over a high edge Annie and Kona had be taken. Back at the cabins with Tank, Wanda, and Ron a full on military aircraft landed in the front. Where Commander Fergus hopped out and took Wanda and Ron to see Sgt. Monroe. "Well, what's this? Cop and criminal. We've been flying around for a while. Didn't think we'd see other survivors. Now, we got a distress call from Dr. Payton. The mission would be to get to him and get rid of all the infected." Sgt. Monroe says in his gruff and deep voice. It was then where Ron said "I think I'm feeling a bit queasy." before falling to the ground and blacked out. Purple spirals surrounded the scene. Ron saw Markus and then Dessa then Zizzy, Glenn, Willow, and Marley Russell surround him. "No, you lot are not real." Ron says denying what he sees. Out of all of them Dessa walks up to Ron and put her hand on his arm. "Come with us Ron." She says in a soothing voice that sounds a little chaotic Ron then blinks and all of his dead friends disappeared and TIO takes his position in front of Ron. "Ron..." TIO says. "I've been fascinated with you for a while. You humans are rather... Unique. You see, you nor Annie can't get infected." TIO continues. "And you're calling me unique... Take a look in a mirror." Ron responds. "I love making deals, deals nobody can forget. Look what has happened to Markus, Dessa, Zizzy, Glenn, Willow and Marley Russell." TIO says before talking a bit of a breath and then continues."Join me and we'll get the upper hand on the infection." He continued. "What makes you think I'd join someone like you?" Ron asked. "Why you..." Ron says in frustration as he woke up. He woke up in the military vehicle. "You fell sleep, no worries. You didn't miss much." Said Commander Fergus. Wanda and the Sargent talk about day-to-day lives. Ron walked up to the commander. "So, did you loose anyone near and dear to your heart, Commander Fergus? "Oy, I remember when the troops die to infection. So sad." It was the Ron noticed Commander Fergus' thick and Russian accent, "How about people like family? Maybe a friend you made?" Ron asked Commander Fergus and the commander answered "Oy, it's been so long since I've seen them. They're probably the infected now." Commander Fergus says, his expression being a bit sadder than before. Meanwhile Tigry and Delta led Doggy, Pony, Bunny, Laura, Katie, Mr. P, Sheepy, Torcher, Mimi, Giraffy, Shardantus, Silzous, UNIT-10, Robby, Georgie, and the twins to Outpost Echo. Tigry and Delta along with the other aforementioned personel arrive to Outpost Echo first, only to be greeted a cold welcome... The coldest welcome by Mr. Bliss. The living snowman caught Mimi by surprise but before he could attack, Mitch stopped him, it was living scarecrow vs. living snowman. Mr. Bliss was using his icesicle hand to Mitch's axe, Mr. Bliss then hopped on a building and then Glenn was summoned as shards of ice and crystal blocked the entrance. Mr. Bliss now holding Mitch by the neck while Glenn and the infected soldiers terrorize everyone. That's when Anteo (Another one of Dr. Payton's projects) enters the scene and holds Mr. Bliss by his ant hands, releasing Mitch that's when Mimi recognizes Mitch and gives him a hug. Glenn has cornered Bunny and Giraffy but then Glenn sinks to the ground. That's when the military vehicle arrives at the base opening to reveal Sargent Monroe, Commander Fergus, Ron, Wanda, and some living soldiers. "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" Sargent Monroe asks himself, "The king of Dolovia, some scientists, civilians and a bunch of deserters and a criminal." The sargent says while looking at everyone. "A serial killer and don't get me started on you..." Sgt. Monroe says while looking at Silzous and then Laura. Doggy was less focused on the military but wondering what Ron was doing with the military. "Ron! There you are. Where have you been? I missed you." Doggy asks. Ron explains it "So, I saw an odd version of myself on Kona's camera and went to blow off a bit of steam when I find a cabin where Wanda here was waiting for the infection to roll over." Meanwhile Shardantus asks the Military to give him and his friends access to the base's lab. Fergus pulls out a white key from his pocket and hands it to Shardantus. "Good luck with that cure. We'll handle things from up here for you. Tigry, Torcher, Delta, do you three mind? Rockets, petrol, and ammunition are plentiful in here." Said Sgt. Monroe. Sargent Monroe looked at Mimi and said "Mimi, it's been so long. Good luck in there." Mimi then responded "Thanks dad, and may the best of luck on blowing brains out of infected." She says while hugging him. In the cave they find Annie and Kona tied up dangling over a ledge. "Hey guys..." Annie says in bit of a struggling but also relieved to see everyone, Kona on the other hand is sleeping heavily. That's when everyone witnesses the other version of Ron appear even though the real Ron is standing between Doggy and Mimi. Ron then charges at the other version of himself and then Ron and his mimic got into a fight, punching, kicking one another. Kona woke up to the sound of Ron and the imposter Ron. The imposter Ron falls over and then a spirit or some sort of entity comes out of it. She flew herself over towards Annie and Kona. She hops into Annie and the imposter Ron disintegrates into nothingness while an imposter Annie falls to the ground on the opposite side of everyone else.
End of Article 22.
"Master would be proud of me. I'm making his distraction."
"No one can hear me down here and Anteo is gone. It doesn't matter, I have you to at least keep me company. Though you may be an infected... A darker, creepier infected... You have kept me company for this long."

2023.06.04 08:44 Main_Star3808 Why Congress is Anti-Hindu and Why We need pro-Hindu leadership with pro-Hindu ideology at every level of government.

Brothers and sisters,
I grew up in the Indian diaspora as an NRI who didn't know too much about Indian politics or India's internal issues to begin with. I was never religious, I always thought of myself as a cultural Hindu. I thought that Hindus were mostly safe in India being a Hindu majority country with Hindu cultural values.
I thought that the Congress Party was a "normal" party. But when I read about the 2011 draft of the Communal Violence Bill and learned about the 2009 Right to Education Act's inapplicability to Christian minority schools (Pramati judgement), I quickly came to the conclusion that the Congress Party and Sonia/Rahul Gandhi are part of a Vatican/Catholic Church/Christian/Western conspiracy against Hindus and Hinduism. When Sonia Gandhi married Rajiv Gandhi, the Catholic Church saw this moment as its "Constantine" moment in India, when it could try to achieve its nefarious goals by controlling the Indian National Congress. Ever wonder why INC is aligned with Christian missionaries? Who did Rahul Gandhi meet first in Bharat Jodo Yatra? A hate mongering Catholic priest named George Ponniah who spewed vile hatred against the Hindus of Tamil Nadu.
See the following article:
https://swarajyamag.com/politics/is-congress-anti-hindu
In particular, I have a deep hatred of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi who are Catholic Christians. They are evil, completely anti-Hindu, and the brainchild of laws like Right to Education Act and the 2011 draft of the Communal Violence Bill. It is painfully obvious that they are Vatican agents who have a deep hatred of Hindus and of Indians. That is why I pray for Sonia and Rahul's downfall each and every day.
Communal Violence Bill - Do all Hindus know that the Congress Party tried to pass a Communal Violence Bill in 2011 that assumed that all Hindus were guilty as default, just by being born as Hindus, while Christians & Muslims could freely attack Hindus without any consequences? Did you know that this plan involved creating a so-called "National Communal Commission" with a "minority" (read Muslim/Christian) majority that could somehow control the Indian armed forces and the police forces to bully and terrorize Hindus? Luckily the BJP under Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, along with Narendra Modi, blocked Congress from passing this anti-Hindu law. BJP and RSS successfully killed this law and then won 2014 in a landslide. Luckily since 2013, the genocidal anti-Hindu Congress Party has been destroyed in the Rajya Sabha and so can never do something like this Communal Violence Bill (CVB) again. Also, India has massive internet penetration now in 2023 compared to back then in 2013 when Congress tried to pass CVB, so if the Italian scum who rule the Congress Party try to pass CVB again they will be exposed and there will be bloody retaliation against them. Variants of the Communal Violence Bill appear in different Congress manifestos under cleverly disguised names and descriptions, but the anti-Hindu intent of the Italian scum is the same. Harsh Mander, who wrote this evil anti-Hindu law with genocidal intent, is still running free instead of being hunted down and punished.
Right to Education Act - We all know how this law discriminates against Hindus running schools while leaving Christian "minority" institutions completely exempt from its horrible requirements like 25% quota, teacher salaries (that are extremely high for no reason), infra requirements like playgrounds etc. Hindus need linguistic minority status or Jain minority status just to escape RTE on their school. This law is so evil and no other country in the world has laws that discriminate against their majority community in education. How dare a Catholic padre who is a filthy pedophile has more rights than a Hindu to run a school without government interference? This was the brainchild of Vatican agent and Catholic terrorist Sonia. People like @ realitycheckind on Twitter have been screaming about RTE since 2014.
Nowadays, wealthy Hindus get around RTE by running linguistic minority or Jain minority schools. In Maharashtra, for instance, the vast majority of Hindu schools owned by politicians or big businessmen switched to linguistic minority status (Hindi/Gujarati/Kannada/Sindhi/Marwadi/Punjabi/Malayalam) or to Jain/Buddhist minority status. For instance, you'll notice that Ambani school in Mumbai is a Gujarati linguistic minority institution, or that Lodha school school in Mumbai is Jain minority, or that Birla school is Marwadi linguistic minority, or that Walsingham school owned by the Mittal family is Hindi linguistic minority. If the top 1% can kill RTE in their schools, why should a mom-pop Hindu family running a school be forced to take in RTE quota freeloaders?
Given how hard it is to politically undo reservation-type laws, the solution to kill the Right to Education Act across the whole of India is to make all Hindu schools across India into Jain minority institutions on paper, throwing out the 25% RTE quota freeloaders who should be kicked out of non-minority private schools. Simply put, nobody has the right to "free" private school education, just because you are part of a particular caste (SC/ST) or community. RTE is also a tool to infiltrate Muslim kids into Hindu owned private schools to achieve the so-called "secularism" that leftists want. If you run a Jain minority institute for instance, you can avoid such "secularism" and "diversity" in your student body and can screen out certain types of students.
This law was so evil and was the reason why so many communities like the Lingayats etc want minority status. Because no other country in the world has laws that make it easier for "minorities" to run schools compared to the majority community. The Jains wanted minority status and got it from the Congress Party in 2014, solely to protect their private schools and colleges from the evil reservation laws that we have and the 93rd constitutional amendment. Nowadays, all wealthy Hindus/corporate India are running Jain minority schools and colleges in the private sector free from any type of caste based reservation. In the future, you will see a movement run by Upper Caste Hindus against reservation in private educational institutions. Pratap Bhanu Mehta (who is really a Jain) knew of the 93rd amendment back in 2005 and successfully got the Jain minority status from the Congress Party. I've seen really top-notch private schools that have linguistic/Jain minority status and are safe from RTE.
Despite this law there, RSS appointees like Priyank Kanoongoo (head of NCPCR - national child rights commission) continue to try to "enforce" RTE on hapless Hindu owned non-minority schools. I have no idea why RSS doesn't have a problem with RTE. If Mr. Modi himself wanted to end RTE, I could guarantee you that this whole "program" would have been shut down on Day 1.
Why should a Hindu school owner be forced to admit 25% "free" education, while a similar school run by a Christian does not have to do so? Is this secularism? If it isn't secular, why aren't Hindus coming on the roads, demanding RTE to be imposed on the schools that those Catholic rapists run?
The True Religion of All Top Congress Leaders (news-flash, Congress is Hindu hating group of individuals plotting against Hindu civilization). While Owaisi is a radical Islamist, people like Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are the biggest threat to Hindus on our planet today.
Rahul Gandhi - Catholic Christian
Catholic Christian like his mother. Pretends to be a Hindu but hates Hindu culture and Hindu traditions. Is more of an Italian Catholic Christian who is more comfortable talking to Catholic padres in a Church. Is most at home in Kerala with a large Catholic population. Uses Muslims as a vote bank but is really aligned with radical Christian forces that are enemies of Hindu civilization. Ran away from a Hindu majority parliamentary constituency to go to a "secular" Wayanad where Abrahamics (Muslims + Christians) are over 60% of the population, knowing that Hindus would punish him electorally.
Sonia Gandhi - Italian Catholic Christian, whose real name is ANTONIO MAINO. How on Earth did the largest opposition party (Indian National Congress) get taken by an Italian Christian woman and a Vatican stooge?
Malikharjun Kharge - Buddhist Ambedkarite Dalit. Also has a hatred for Hindu Dharma, even when Hinduism and Buddhism are both Indian/Indic faiths in our civilization that are mutually compatible with each other. Hindus don't have any problem with Buddhism or Buddhists and even see Buddhism as an "improved" or "enlightened" version of Hinduism, yet the radical Ambedkarite ideology tries to instigate Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes from other Hindu castes when all Hindus across our country are equal and together. Hindus don't have a problem with anybody embracing Buddhism.
Manmohan Singh - Sikh who was the first non-Hindu Prime Minister of India. Under Mr. Manmohan Singh's tenure, the Congress Party tried to pass the Communal Violence Bill (2011 draft) which distinguished between "minorities" and Hindus in criminal law but was luckily blocked by the BJP who killed it. Now Sonia Gandhi could have chosen a Hindu in her Congress Party as the Prime Minister when Congress won in 2004 and 2009. But she deliberately chose a non-Hindu to implement her radical Hindu-hating agenda. A titular figurehead whose daughter was found working for George Soros and who has a Hindu hating agenda as well.
Others - Ambika Soni who is a Christian, Kapil Sibal who also seems to be a Christian and so forth.
It is painfully clear that Congress Party has an agenda against Hindus and Hinduism and that their national leaders are anti-Hindu. So, why does Congress still win in some state elections?
Himachal Pradesh - was very close in 2022. Also, the Congress Party in Himachal Pradesh seems to be led by people who are Hindus. Never saw Hinduphobia YET in Himachal by Himachal Congress.
Chhattisgarh - Suspect that there is a massive conversion of tribals to Christianity, particularly in forests. Would be very dangerous if Baghel wins a 2nd term.
Karnataka - BJP government in Karnataka was corrupt and had poor leaders, with massive anti-incumbency with a 36% vs 43% vote differential. Also, the Kharge factor was there and many Hindu Dalits who would have voted for BJP voted for Cong just because of Kharge's Ambedkarite credentials. If the Congress unit in Karnataka supports Christian missionaries or Muslim terrorist organizations like PFI, it's up to the BJP government at the center to act.
Rajasthan - anti-incumbency in 2018. BJP should win Rajasthan very easily in 2023.
I don't think BJP is favored to win Chhattisgarh but I don't want Congress to ever have more than 3 states (Himachal, Karnataka, Chhatisgarh) by the end of 2023.
____________________________________________________________________________
Congress, being a minoritarian party full of radical Muslim + Christian terrorists, should be reduced below 10% of seats in the Rajya Sabha (currently it's at 31/245 or 12.6%).
It is no surprise that Rahul Gandhi called for American/Western intervention in India's democracy to subvert the will of the Hindu majority (see the interview where this treacherous Rahul Gandhi asks American Nicholas Burns to "intervene" in India's internal affairs).
Hatred towards Hindus is Hatred towards India as a whole.
TLDR: Rahul Gandhi should come clean and disclose his real religion (Catholic Christianity). Why should Hindus let somebody who is completely hateful towards us continue to malign us in international forums, insult our people, our country, our government, and our civilizational nation? Go to the Vatican.
What is Congress's Idea of India and What Does it Really Mean? [Differential Laws on the basis of a person's religion, like Right to Education (RTE) and Communal Violence Bill (CVB). Apartheid laws that discriminate against Hindus]
When Rahul Gandhi or some Congress person like Shashi Tharoor (who also seems to be a crypto Catholic Christian) talks about the "Idea of India", they imagine an India where people are subjected to different laws on the basis of faith and where Hindus are 3rd class citizens compared to Abrahamics.
The "Idea of India" people want a world in which Christian schools are exempt from RTE, while Hindu schools suffer RTE; a world where Hindus suffer from a so-called Communal Violence Bill while minorities (Muslims + Christians) terrorize Hindus.
Does this "Idea of India" appeal to you? If you forcefully try to impose Christian or Muslim supremacy on a country with over a billion Hindus, we will retaliate and we will destroy you. In an era where people are connected via telecommunications/Internet and are becoming more literate and technologically savvy, if you do anything against Hindus, we will destroy you. Your fake "Gandhi" surname won't stop us from noticing that you are a Vatican terrorist along with your mother.

2023.06.04 06:39 paimonia87 Difference between Killing curse and just regular killing

Here's my dumb wizarding world question, what is the difference between killing another witch via Avada Kadabra vs killing them any other way (magical or non magical)?
In Deathly Hallows Mrs. Weasley kills Bellatrix (she did kill her, technically that's a murderer) but (at least in the movies) she didn't shout out "Avada Kadabra," when she did it. So why does a witch even need to use the curse if they can just kill by shooting laser beams (idk what the stuff that comes out of the wand actually is, maybe just pure energy) at their opponent? Does shouting the words just make the kill even more confirmed or what? Why bother using it?
Also if a witch kills another witch and or muggle via unforgivable curse vs. just a regular way does it increase the time spent in Azkaban? Let's say you kill a witch (or muggle) via liquid death potion, do you get a shorter sentence at Azkaban vs killing them off w/ Avada?
What if you just give them a good old shank in the ribs and that kills them also? Does that mean shorter prison time? Does it even matter?
Just don't get this at all, or even see a point in there being a death curse when you can still just kill w/ other means anyway...
🧙‍♂️ 🤷

2023.06.04 03:38 caphis Modern future-proofed gaming PC

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
I also have these existing parts from my current build that may or may not be reusable in a modern system:
i5-3570k G.Skill 32 GB (4x 8GB) DDR3-1866 GTX 770 2GB Corsair Carbide 200R mid case
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?
Thank you!

2023.06.04 03:27 Reaperoflight000 Updated BIOS: now computer hard crashes during games after around 20 minutes

Hello. I recently upgraded the motherboard, CPU, CPU cooler, and RAM in my system. For a few weeks, I didn't update my BIOS (was running the original BIOS that came with the motherboard from 2022), but today I decided to update to the most recent BIOS. Before updating, I could play games normally for however long and my computer would be fine. However, now I get a hard crash after around 20-30 minutes of gameplay and am constantly forced to hard reboot my system. I don't overclock.
Specs:
Mobo: MSI B650 Carbon WIFI CPU: Ryzen 7 7700x CPU Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC RAM: Corsair Vengeance 5600Hz Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB (x2) + Toshiba-TR150 120GB Case: Fractal Meshify 2 PSU: Cooler Master MWE 850W Gold
So far, I've troubleshooted using these methods:
The CPU does ramp up to 95 degrees when starting games, but during gameplay it sits comfortably within the 70s when playing at 4K. Should I just downgrade my BIOS? Should I perform a system restore? I'm really not sure what to do. I'm thankfully in a position where I still have my old AM4 parts and a new RTX 3060 I was planning on giving my friend as a birthday present, so I can test using different parts if necessary. Or maybe my CPU is thermal throttling and I just don't know it. Does anyone have any ideas of what to do? The help would be MASSIVELY appreciated.
P.S. The BIOS I'm currently using is 7D74v154(Beta version)
P.S.S. Immediately after updating my BIOS, I tried activating the XMP on my RAM since I hadn't done that yet. It caused a black screen even though my system was on, so I performed a hard reset through removing the CMOS battery and holding the case's power button for 30 seconds after unplugging. I tried gaming immediately after and started having this error. I don't honestly think this will have anything to do with my problem since the XMP is disabled again, but I figured I ought to include it. Could the RAM be corrupted? The computer works fine when I'm not doing gaming, though.
P.S.S.S. I'll send the full message regarding NVIDIA OpenGL to those interested. This post is long enough.
