Alright so for the past month or 2 i’ve seen a lot of talk on how Snax has fell off, or at least hasn’t been as good as their past years, then Friday I stumbled upon a ent that had posted a list for tourists or people looking for solid bud, and Snax was on the list, so I decided to comment my 2 cents and even got a dm from a manager from Snax for 10% off my order, went ahead and headed down to Boulder yesterday to check out the store front. Here’s a couple things I have to share ab my experience.
First off, I grabbed 2 eighths, both from Snax grow, Melroze and some SFV that looked liked they had been stocked prior to me walking in, for $40 Im not only impressed, Im insanely surprised due to the fact of all the talk they get against their brand, I smoked a 2 grammer wood, and when I say that was the smoothest wood I’ve ever smoked, and i’m most certainly not the biggest wood smoker, the Melroze broke down super sticky leaving my fingers coated like I just trimmed, has a nice candy/sweet nose on it, all clumped up together sticking to itself after breaking it down, smoked really smooth and flavors didnt get overwhelming from the wood, I had picked up 2 eighths from The Center 2 weeks ago of their in house bud and definitely some solid flavors, for the same price but I had came during happy hr, so I am very pleased with Snax selection, I also got to smell more of their flavs that had been grabbed at more and I really wasn’t disappointed nose wise on all their selection.
Now my shopping experience, I am pretty frequently at Eclipse or Maikoh, so I’m pretty in tune when it comes to getting a solid budtender thats not cash grabbing me, and I will say I definitely was surprised with the guy that helped me at Snax, not only were both the budtenders helpful, they knew how to keep a convo flowing which I was very happy with bc I’ve been to plenty of dispos where it is damn near a one way street for the convo.
All in all i’m very impressed with Snax, and I know every person is different, but I think if you haven’t given them a shot or maybe its been a while, I think you go check the flavs and you’ll def find some fueg coming from the Snax team!

Synopsis:

Spotted one day by an astonished adventurer, he insists on grading Juliette's swordsmanship, then promptly has a mental breakdown at the result.
Soon after, Juliette is given the news that her kingdom is on the brink of bankruptcy. At threat of being married off, the lazy princess vows to do whatever it takes to maintain her current lifestyle, and taking matters into her own hands, escapes in the middle of the night in order to restore her kingdom's finances.

Chapter 7: Royal Requisition
The draft horse responded well. Likely since he knew I liked his name.
'Apple'.
It was a simple reminder of my orchard, but just in case I ever forgot, I could reach into one of my many saddlebags and draw out a crisp, delicious red fruit. The horse whinnied in joy. No doubt it could smell the aroma tucked away. He'd be able to enjoy them too—after they were used as projectiles to incapacitate any miscreant or monster hoping to invite themselves onto our day's itinerary.
We certainly weren't going to outpace any adversaries, much less any knights that were sent to usher me back to my impending poverty.
This was no battle steed bred for unmatched pace. Rather, the only thing this draft horse would outrun was a cart. And that's if it was the one pulling it.
Still, I stroked the horse's outrageously shaggy mane and declared myself satisfied.
I was fond of horses. They galloped, plodded and stood still. The three functions I required a horse to do. They did not spill wine over my dresses, straighten the wrong strands of my hair or serve me carrots while trembling with tears and apologies. They had their jobs, and unlike my waiting staff, they did it with exceptional prowess.
Beside me, the barkeeper checked the saddle and bridle.
He went about his task efficiently, tugging at the clasps and ensuring the comfort of both horse and rider. My opinion of village barkeepers rose considerably.
“Do you often require a horse for your line of work?” I queried, noting the way he was carefully inspecting the position of the tack.
The barkeeper didn't look up.
“Not often,” he replied.
The man chose not to annotate. I nodded and looked ahead.
Even the fields around this insignificant village looked modestly impressive when beneath such a welcoming moonlit sky.
“There are provisions, but not for longer than a straight ride to Rolstein. You'd best stop by a village on your way. Your … borrowed money is in a separate pouch, as is my letter.”
“Excellent.”
“Both the letter and the horse is to be delivered to Marina, the local alchemist in Rolstein. You'll find her in her store, if it's still there.”
“If?”
“It's been some time.”
“And if this alchemist isn't available?”
“Then Apple will find his way back. He's a smart one.”
The horse gave a small snort. I took that to be agreement.
“All ready,” said the barkeeper, stepping back. “You've my horse and my night's earnings. Anything else you require before you make for the lowlands?”
“That'll be all. Thank you for your service.”
“And yours, young lady.”
I raised an eyebrow.
A deeply seated part of me wished to remind this commoner about the necessity of referring to proper titles, but I'd declared myself to be Juliette and nobody else.
If my masterful deception were to succeed, then I'd need to maintain the persona of a … well, not a commoner, obviously not, but perhaps some countryside lord's daughter? Or would that arouse too much suspicion?
A problem. I was clearly far too beautiful and well-heeled to be anything less than a duke's favoured child. And all of them were accounted for. Do I pose as somebody else? But who? How should I introduce myself? What questions could I reasonably consider likely to be asked?
For two long seconds, I considered this possible issue.
And then I tossed it to the wayside.
Really now! This is why the kingdom was in the state it was. Why think and stay still when I can think and move? I'd surely come up with an answer by the time I needed to provide one. In fact, why dedicate thoughts to mere possibilities at all?
I was supremely confident in my problem-solving skills. Therefore, once this actually became a problem, it was more efficient to simply come up with the answer there and then as required. My head was too precious to fill up with hypothetical concerns. I had real ones to consider.
Such as figuring out which road was the one south.
“Also, I've provided a map alongside the provisions,” said the barkeeper, his stoic exterior looking progressively more haggled. “It's incomplete, but will help where the roads most often disappear where the woodlands overgrow. Though I'm sure you're well acquainted with the land, there are many areas where even experienced hunters have found themselves suddenly lost.”
This ... This barkeeper!
Once I was back, I would promote him to the royal court! He was far too competent to be serving frothy liquor in a pub with customers that disgraced the floorboards beneath his tables. Why, he should be serving the finest fae wine to dignitaries! Those people only soiled themselves in their guest rooms!
However, that was in the future. Right now, I had to provide him with the only reward I could offer.
Asking his name. And maybe remembering it.
“I … I see! Thank you. Thank you most kindly. I'll use it well in the days ahead. I must say, you've been of considerable service. What is your name, Sir Barkeeper?”
“Thomas.”
I gestured at him to continue.
He paused, seeming to hesitate before doing so. An action I saw frequently. Those of lesser status were always fretful to reveal their family name, for fear of open admonishment.
In truth, this barkeeper had nothing to fear. I already ranked him above every nobleman to have ever visited the Royal Villa. Why, if I requisitioned their horse and crowns, they'd protest as if I was some brigand!
“Thomas Lainsfont.”
“... Lainsfont?”
The man nodded.
Curiously, I found myself eyeing some distant cloud as my mind was struck by a hint of recognition. How strange that this should be the case.
Lainsfont.
I didn't recognise it. Nor should I. I had far too many names to forget as it was before I needed to start including the names of commoners as well.
Even so, this one tickled my memory like a word on the tip of my tongue, even where most others failed.
“Thomas Lainsfont. Now why does that name sound … familiar?”
“I wouldn't know. I'm a barkeeper.”
I eyed him, for what was the very first time, and in doing so officially upgraded him from barkeeper to known person of use.
A man in his forties with the beginnings of grey hair in his stubble. Still, he boasted remarkably young eyes. And his stature. It wasn't lowered by the pouring of mead or the hauling kegs for inebriated louts.
Indeed, his frame remained remarkably tall. And proud.
Hmm.
Interesting.
“Were you ever in service to the kingdom, Mr. Lainsfont?”
The man raised an eyebrow.
“By ensuring the layabouts of this village have somewhere to sleep off their drunkenness, certainly.”
“... I see. Well, if you ever wish to hone your skills on better dressed clientele, I may have a prospective offer of employment for you as soon as I return. Note that better dressed does not mean more palatable, however. Just less … unidentifiable stains involved.”
“I'll look forward to it.”
“Good, good.”
Turning my attention from this known person of use, I gently tugged on the horse's reins. He set off on a slow trot. Eventually, he'd need to test his pace. Rolstein was some distance away, while our knights were closer. I intended to ride through the night and into the next day.
It was only then that I realised something very important.
… I hadn't used the restroom yet.

Hello there, my name is Coach Chesster(Yes, an obvious Chess reference, which is, by far, my favorite game). I've been playing League of Legends since season one, I've experienced everything from full AP Yi one-shotting my entire team to Tryndamere mains spinning around with a needlessly large rod instead of a sword. You could say I've been there during all the important historical moments of the game. I've been at the top of the ladder in Season 6 (Going between high Diamond and Challenger, based on how much time I've had to invest). I've competed in various tournaments, even being able to win a number of them, before I decided to get myself into coaching.
Coaching
I started the entire coaching thing during season 7 when one of my friends asked if I wanted to help him get out of that Diamond 4 hell. Ever since then, I was having a consistent number of sessions on a weekly basis, with my network of people slowly increasing(One of them actually gave me the idea to advertise on Reddit, which I did eventually accept!) I've coached more than 700 individuals ever since I started and I can proudly say I've had more than 500 sessions this year alone! Paul and John sat on the couch in John's living room, surrounded by guitars and songbooks. Paul looked up from the sheet music he was studying and caught John's eye. Something had been building between them for weeks, and Paul knew he had to tell John how he felt.

John's eyes widened in surprise, but then a smile spread across his face. He put his arm around Paul's shoulder and said, "I love you too, Paul."

A player wants to have a mimic backpack - I need tips for interesting encounters
First off, let me clarify. I’m not asking if this is a good idea or if I should allow it. We’re all well experienced and I’ve already explained it’s not a Familiar or Pet that they control. It’s an NPC which I control.
What I’m looking for are ideas for mischief this mimic can cause.
The group is five Level 7 characters. They found this mimic in a dungeon. He’s a lazy mimic and small and sentient/smart enough to realize Adventurers are scary/dangerous, so he made a deal with the party; bring me food and I’ll tell you everything I know about this dungeon, where all the traps and treasures and monsters are that I know of
For the last four sessions, this has been really fun. They feed him, and he tells them things like, “up the stairs and to the left is a magically trapped door. It’s electrocuted someone three different times so I ate them. There’s probably something valuable behind it.”
They figure out a way past the trap, go into the room, fight some giant spiders, and get a magic wand and some gold from one of the corpses in the webbing.
They feed the spiders to the mimic and he tells them about another place.
So now they know they’re getting close to clearing it out, and they’ll be leaving but they don’t want to leave their buddy the mimic to starve or get killed by other Adventurers, so the Thief decides he wants the mimic to be his backpack, figuring the stickiness means it won’t fall off or get stolen and they can keep their gold and stuff safe.
I’m loving the idea. But this mimic has never been out in the civilized world before. And he’s always hungry.
But I’m hoping for other funny/silly but not totally stupid/bad mischief it can get into.

- Obviously I’m going to have him slip away and eat a ham at the butchers
- Eat a chicken (or two) on a farm
- Eat the kettle of beef stew in the tavern.
- Pretend it’s a stool and change its size (smaller) or move when someone tries to sit on it.
- Change color or material while the Thief is talking to people. “Wasn’t your pack green?”
- You enter a tavern and find a table. The mimic slips off and sets on the floor near your chair like a normal backpack. Unfortunately, being so sticky, it accidentally catches a serving girl by the ankle and she spills her tray of ales all over the group of Half-Orc mercenaries at the table next to you.

So the Perihelion has a ton of usability issues when trying to use it in CQC, and I'm not going to go into depth on all of them in this post.
But one big one, which will be exacerbated by the cap on how long a charge can be held, is the way it uses ammo.
Mechanically speaking, if you want to make a charge weapon interesting, the charge up should be a meaningful, tactical choice, where both uncharged and charged shots present different pros and cons.
The Perihelion suffers in this regard: the fully charged burst feels like the only way of firing the weapon that's worth it.
That's bad enough in itself, but this is worsened by the fact that it's a 3-round burst in a weapon that only has a 3-round mag.
Every time you don't fire a full burst it's bad, not just because the shot itself is less powerful, but you're now stuck with an incomplete mag that cannot achieve a full burst anymore until you've sat through the whole arduous reload (and THEN the charge up time on top of that.)
In any reasonable design of a charge up weapon with a time cap like this, you'd want the weapon - in case of surprise - to be able to fire an uncharged shot or two at a target that appeared out of nowhere as a first reaction, before settling into the rest of the combat. But currently with the Peri that means you're faced with a partial mag, incapable of a full burst, and the two bad choices of either immediately reloading, or trying to land another weak shot or two to empty the mag, delaying you even longer till you can have another burst.
The solution?
Heat-based ammo pool.
Make the delay proportional to the kind of shots fired.
If you shoot one un-charged shot from a heat-based ammo pool, you only need to wait 1/3rd of the full reload time to be at full capacity again.
This would make a 2-charge also an acceptable thing to throw into the mix, depending on how the combat is pacing out, instead of it being exclusively about the full charge and everything else feeling terrible.
Really, given how obsessed the devs have been about making heat-based ammo the Vanu Gimmick on small arms, it's a little surprising we haven't seen it yet on this type of weapon that would actually mechanically synergize with it, and we got "no bullet drop" on a tank cannon with 225 m/s muzzle velocity instead.
((EDIT: A way to cancel a charge would be swell too, obviously, but this suggestion should at least partially solve the same problems and seems much more achievable without adding an extra keybind to tanks just for cancelling a mechanic only a single gun on a single tank has))

Longer post ahead. I am a long time fifa player (since fifa 11) that enjoys this game, currently on PC. The gameplay this year, even with all its bullshit, is one of the best ones ever in my opinion, because every fifa has a meta, exploits, popular players etc. yet I get general satisfaction playing fifa 23, and I’m sure a lot of you do too. People sometimes forget how poorly balanced old fifas were where pace was way more important than this fifa, as crazy as it sounds, or where people abused a mechanic so much it identifies with the game to this day (skilling/finesse/longshots and fifa 11, crosses and fifa 14, etc.).
I started playing in December last year. I am happy with how everyone can make a competitive team easily and skill expression is much higher than back in the day, where you could do almost nothing against credit card fc. Yes EA fucked up with the power curve, but everyone can get a 90-95% team free to play in a month or two which allows you to compete with anyone.
My frustration comes with matchmaking and cheaters, and to an extent compatibility issues (PC mostly) which is especially noticeable in fut champs. This weekend is a prime example of it. I am currently a 16-4 player last 3 weekend leagues, (I was a 14-6 and 11-9 player before as I was learning) and this weekend I had a genuine shot at going for rank 1. But guess what prevented me from getting it? Cheaters. Cheaters are plaguing PC so much I have on average met 7-8 per weekend the past month. I already know once I do first 10 games it’s like “oh boy, here they come”.
I went 17-3 today. One loss was legitimate against a better player, fair and square. Two losses came against a forced disconnect cheat and an auto green timing/rating hack cheater. Both times there was nothing I could do. I can’t guarantee I would have gotten rank 1 but at least I would have had a fair chance at it. It honestly felt bittersweet. For those unaware, there are several forms of cheating. There is just ultimate AI, there is invisibility + ultimate AI, there is forced disconnects and there is cheating stats/green timed finishes/skill moves etc. I regularly encounter all of them, especially invisible AI.
It’s becoming so ridiculous I learned the patterns of playing against invisible AI and winning games (using the radar to play, going 1-0 up, alt-tabbing and they disconnect), but the fact that I have to meet cheaters in almost 50% of my fut champs games, for consecutive months without any sign of improvement, is a joke for a multi billionaire company. I can’t remember any other fifa in history with so many cheating issues. It’s sad and frustrating and puts a huge black stain on this game. Rant over.

Hi all, I (30f) have come to a tough spot in my relationship. There's been a few occasions l've come over and my boyfriend (32m) is wasted, but then says he isn't and denies any drinking. It's happened a handful of times but there was always a "stressor" that day that I understood. Not an excuse but at least understandable. This happened Tuesday this week after something happened at work, and for the very first time he was rude to me. It happened again Friday night and I was upset because we had plans to go out with friends. Once I realized he was drunk, I grabbed my stuff and left to get ready at my house. He knew I was upset and we didn't talk a lot Saturday, except over text and I let him know how upset I was with his actions. I asked if he had an alcohol problem and he just laughed it off like I was crazy. Well I finally get around to talking in person, so I go over to his house and, guess what, he's drunk again. I'm pissed because he knew it upset me so much the night before. I decided to be nosey and find where he's been keeping the booze. I found SIX empty vodka handles in his closet. One had a few shots left that I poured out. I just don't know what to do.
This man is normally an amazing partner whom I love and planned on building a future together. I know if I had something going on he would stay by my side and help, but my trust feels betrayed now. We’ve been together almost 6 months and it’s been the best and healthiest relationship both of us have had.
On a side note, he had a friend die of alcoholism a few years ago and is still grieving it. I have a feeling his death is contributing to this. He's idolizing a dead man.

First off, let me clarify. I’m not asking if this is a good idea or if I should allow it. We’re all well experienced and I’ve already explained it’s not a Familiar or Pet that they control. It’s an NPC which I control.
What I’m looking for are ideas for mischief this mimic can cause.
The group is five Level 7 characters. They found this mimic in a dungeon. He’s a lazy mimic and small and sentient/smart enough to realize Adventurers are scary/dangerous, so he made a deal with the party; bring me food and I’ll tell you everything I know about this dungeon, where all the traps and treasures and monsters are that I know of
For the last four sessions, this has been really fun. They feed him, and he tells them things like, “up the stairs and to the left is a magically trapped door. It’s electrocuted someone three different times so I ate them. There’s probably something valuable behind it.”
They figure out a way past the trap, go into the room, fight some giant spiders, and get a magic wand and some gold from one of the corpses in the webbing.
They feed the spiders to the mimic and he tells them about another place.
So now they know they’re getting close to clearing it out, and they’ll be leaving but they don’t want to leave their buddy the mimic to starve or get killed by other Adventurers, so the Thief decides he wants the mimic to be his backpack, figuring the stickiness means it won’t fall off or get stolen and they can keep their gold and stuff safe.
I’m loving the idea. But this mimic has never been out in the civilized world before. And he’s always hungry. Obviously I’m going to have him slip away and eat a ham at the butchers, a chicken on a farm, and the kettle of beef stew in the tavern.
But I’m hoping for other funny/silly but not totally stupid/bad mischief it can get into.

For reference I'm an avid fifa player that's been playing fifa since the first fifa and I get about 51 points in fut champs.
I don't get cruyff every year, there's not always a chance to (he's expensive) and he doesn't always cater my playstyle perfectly either.
Still cruyff is one of the top icons for a reason. Not having much strength and the frame he has, does not only make him very agile, he also is extremely good in close to the feet dribbling, he's pretty much king in small spaces. He's better in that regard than pelé.

But when I got him in the past, that wasn't necessarily why I got him, it was more for the combination of workrates, his ability to set up a pass or long finesse shot with his dribbling, and the 5 star weak foot.

Still when I got the prime this year in an icon pack around newyear (don't downvote me for this, I never get this lucky, also the mid has a similar playstyle) I didn't really knew what to do with him exactly, I wasn't using a cam, and long finesse shots aren't really a thing this year.
Sure I can use him for runs, and he's good for that, but not 4 million good. So in the beginning he was just in my team a bit like a glorified butragueno but as time went on, more and more I tried to get the gist of this player in this fifa.
and I found it , he's now as a lone striker in a 433 ish type of setup, dribbling in close spaces, and scoring with ground balls, he sometimes still scores from a run and a hard shot, or I do a rebona coming from the side, but his strenght really lies in those small spaces.
So trying a loan player may not give you an right idea of the strength of this player, frankly advanced players won't even give this choice a second thought, they will choose cruyff, and it's also why it's rumored that rivaldo is overpriced, but you don't even have to be a skiller, by just using r1/rb this player will already outmatch rivaldo in many ways.

Still that doesn't mean you don't have to consider rivaldo, I've seen rivaldo play in the past, a friend of me described it very well, everything in 3 feet of him is his territory.
Fifa also depicted him really well in this regard (I play with him every year), he's pretty tall, but it's not like this player feels sluggish, frankly he's smoother than zidane, that doesn't mean he's a better dribbler than zidane, he just has a leaner frame with more agility and balance.
Don't feel offended by this comparison, rivaldo is a ballon d'or winner for a reason, the year after zidane got it, and R9 pretty much played all year then as well.
While he does have 2 star weak foot by nature, that foot is probably the strongest foot in football history, and this card has 5 star weak foot. He also has pace that is more usable in attacking position.
You might be put off by tall players, rivaldo isn't going to play like cantona, but more like a cr7 with more balance and a leaner frame, while still being quite strong, he is a unique player and certainly worth considering.

Alleged South East Antrim UDA chief Adrian Price has been kicked out of the terror gang and ordered out of his home. The crime gang purge was sanctioned by the SEA leadership in Carrick and follows increasing tensions within the UDA.
Price was once a close and trusted associate of SEA Brigadier Gary Fisher but well placed sources say the pair had drifted apart with Fisher furious Price had refused to toe the line.
He was one of a number of people whose homes were targeted by masked men armed with crow bars and baseball bats.
Price is believed to have been at home when a mob crashed through the door of his Cedar Drive home in Newtownards.
He is not believed to have been physically assaulted but is said to have been left ``shaken’’ by the incident on Thursday evening.
Tensions in the loyalist estate are said to have been high in recent weeks with Price’s mob blamed for a number of incidents in which residents had been intimidate and extorted.
The area is predominantly controlled by the rival UVF raising concerns over a possible feud but it is understood Fisher made his move after Price failed to get back in line.
Ironically Price was a staunch Fisher ally during a damaging year long feud in 2016 in Carrick which ended with the murder of former UDA commander Geordie Gilmore.
The hit came after a lengthy feud with Fisher’s SEA unit.
PSNI Detective Sergeant Westbury said that eight masked men had attacked a property in the Cedar Drive area, using crowbars and hammers to smash doors and windows.
“The resident who was present at the time was uninjured, however has been left badly shaken by the attack,” he said.
A number of vehicles were also damaged.
There is no suggestion the UVF were involved, it was purely an internal’’ matter although well placed sources say the UVF would have beenaware’’ it was going to happen.
That was to ensure they would not intervene as it was wholly a UDA issue.
Police maintained a heavy presence in the area amid fears Price may retaliate, but sources say it is unlikely.
In graffiti that appeared in the area the attacks were claimed by North Down UFF.

Upright and Balanced - On the Trail and in Life This past summer, my daughter and I planned to hike a section of the Appalachian Trail. Although we both loved the outdoors and were frequent day hikers, neither of us had attempted an overnight backpacking experience. After watching numerous on-line videos for advice, studying trail maps, and loading our packs, we set off for adventure, compass in hand and a smile on our faces.
Seasoned backpackers will tell you that “newbies” on the trail are easily recognized by the size of their packs, carrying everything but the kitchen sink. We were no exception. Our packs were easily half our body weight and towered over our heads. After the first mile, we got the hang of balancing our loads and conquered one steep ascent after another.
All was well until I had the misfortune to misstep and “roll” on a stick. I was thrown off balance, my feet went out from under me, and I found myself looking up at the sky, my fall cushioned by my pack. My daughter ran to my aid but was quickly overcome with fits of laughter at the sight of me attempting to get back on my feet. Every effort to stand up was negated by the heavy pack. No matter how I tried, I was stuck, much like an overturned turtle. After valiant efforts to right myself, I lay exhausted by the situation, needing some kind of helping hand to stand. Once I gave up fighting the pack weight, a thought came to me. If I just unclipped my pack, I would be able to stand. I did. Now free from the weight of my burden, I stood upright.
My experience on the trail holds many lessons for me when compared to Al-Anon. Many of us carried a burden from the effects of alcoholism, causing us to lose our balance and get stuck. Seasoned backpackers will tell you that “newbies” on the trail are easily recognized by the size of their packs, carrying everything but the kitchen sink. We were no exception. Our packs were easily half our body weight and towered over our heads. After the first mile, we got the hang of balancing our loads and conquered one steep ascent after another.
All was well until I had the misfortune to misstep and “roll” on a stick. I was thrown off balance, my feet went out from under me, and I found myself looking up at the sky, my fall cushioned by my pack. My daughter ran to my aid but was quickly overcome with fits of laughter at the sight of me attempting to get back on my feet. Every effort to stand up was negated by the heavy pack. No matter how I tried, I was stuck, much like an overturned turtle. After valiant efforts to right myself, I lay exhausted by the situation, needing some kind of helping hand to stand. Once I gave up fighting the pack weight, a thought came to me. If I just unclipped my pack, I would be able to stand. I did. Now free from the weight of my burden, I stood upright.
My experience on the trail holds many lessons for me when compared to Al-Anon. Many of us carried a burden from the effects of alcoholism, causing us to lose our balance and get stuck. Max Verstappen has hit some opposition in the form of apparel giant Nike as he looks to delve into the clothing world.
The Dutchman’s on-track activities in Formula 1 are currently taking him to continuously greater heights. Already a two-time World Champion, Red Bull’s dominant start to the F1 2023 campaign has made Verstappen the overwhelming favourite to make it three in a row this season.
And with his Red Bull contract running until the end of 2028, Verstappen’s Formula 1 endeavours will continue to be the centrepiece of his career for many more years to come.
However, having suggested that he wants to leave Formula 1 for other racing challenges after that, even though he will have only just moved into his 30s by that time, Verstappen already is giving great focus to his life outside of Formula 1.
That is not only in relation to racing either as it would seem Verstappen also wants to launch his own clothing brand.
The plan was to call it ‘Max 1’, though De Limburger reported that Nike have taken issue with that name as they believe it is too similar to their Nike: Air Max shoe range.
And the region’s trademark agency, The Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP), has issued a report that confirms its investigation and opposition from Nike, with the reasons why a roadblock has been put in front of Verstappen’s plans.
As well as suggestions that the similarity of the names could lead to confusion for the public, who may assume there is an affiliation between the brands, the styling also appears to be an issue.

The report states: “Both signs contain the word MAX, albeit in a different place. In the trademarks invoked, the elements AIR and MAX have equal weight in the overall impression. In the contested sign, the emphasis is on the word MAX. The number 1 will be regarded as a specification of MAX. To that extent the signs agree.
“The goods in question (Nike and Max) are partly identical and partly similar. Visually and aurally, there is a certain degree of similarity between the signs.
“Based on these and the other factors mentioned above and given their interdependence, the Office considers that there is a likelihood of confusion in the sense that the public may believe that the goods covered by the trade marks invoked and those of the contested sign belong to the same undertaking or, as the case may be, from economically linked companies.
“Since it is common practice in the clothing sector for the same mark to be configured in different ways, the relevant public might also think that the contested sign is a sub-mark of the opponent (Nike).”

- Youtube. I like to watch gameplays and travelling videos mostly. I like travel videos because one day I would like to travel too around the World if I have the opportunity.
