I followed logical increments but added a different tower as well as a different CPU cooler, since the cooler they (Enthusiast PC) talk about is not available in Germany. The tower should be fine, as I checked the measurements, but I am slightly worried about:

1. My choice of alternative CPU cooler, i.e. if it will be just as good as the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX
2. The whole cooling fan situation, since I am worried about negative air pressure with three intake coolers in front, one exhaust cooler in the back and the three CPU coolers set to exhaust at the top of the case

My roommate and I (both female) are first year students at a canadian university. Yesterday at approximately 1pm, two men who said that they were working for our dorm residence unlocked our door and walked in (without notice) while we were asleep in bed. There reasoning was that they “needed pictures of our kitchenet for another rooms renovation.” This is a but TMI but pertinent to the story, but my roommate and I were both in our underwear and bra taking a nap (we are pretty comfortable with one another, but regardless we were not in clothing we would want strangers to see us in). Both of us heard a loud knock and before we could get up and check, were shocked to hear that there were people inside of our dorms main room. We were lucky that we were in the bedroom, however, that does not mean that we felt safe. What if one of us were in our undergarments grabbing a cup of water when the guys were there? Both of us felt extremely unsafe and just utterly shocked.
Upon reviewing the residence agreement on our University website, we read that this act was in violation of the agreement. Within the agreement it states that “Notice may not be possible in the following cases: a) an emergency b) a threatening situation c) belief that the room has been abandoned or vacated, or d) belief that a violation of this agreement, a university policy or procedure or a violation of law is occurring.” And that any other circumstance requires a 24-hour notice of entry. None of the above reasons were stated to us and a simple “we need a picture for another room” should not be enough to enter our living space without a written notice 24 hours in advance.
Both of us talked to our parents about it, and as both of us our far away from home for school, we both felt extremely unsafe and scared. Our parents agree that we should talk to the university about this. My roommate and i deserve to have a place we feel free and safe in. What should we do? Please help and advice is appreciated. I am having the classic sims 2-on-modern-PC-nightmare, and I feel lost at this point since I had no problems on this very computer with this specific install just a couple of months ago (the last time I played). I don't know if there has been a software update to my computer that has made my Sims 2 game unplayable because I haven't touched the game since then. Sims 3 runs perfectly on the highest settings and millions of mods, by the way.
The problems are: pink flashing after a couple of minutes of playing (never in CAS though), heavy lag in neighborhood view (run perfectly smooth in lot mode). Either crashes ("action will now terminate") on the load screen after finishing making a family, or when loading lots. If I manage to open a lot, it crashes after 3-5 minutes of playing even though it runs super smoothly. Never crashes in CAS.
I have done these steps:

• Graphics Rules Maker - tried forcing 4568mb (which is suggested by the program), also tried 1009mb to match my VRAM. It is applied, it is in the laptop log file. I have always used Graphics Rules Maker with the 4568mb setting, and have worked fine before
• Always run the game in administration mode as well as compatibility mode for Windows Vista (is XP better?)
• Have added the d3d9.dll file as well as a text file named dxvk.conf containing "d3d9.maxAvailableMemory=4568" into my TSBin folder
• I have in the past done the memory allocation fix
• Changed my virtual memory amount to be set to 25,000-30,000 in the computer performance settings
• Checked my mods in the Delphy Download Organizer, even though my game ran okay with the same mods a couple of months ago. Doesn't help to remove mods (also I WANT to play with mods, so to be without them is not a long-term option either)
• I delete cache all the time
• I remember doing something related to DirectX too that was recommended, but I am not sure
• I take good care of my computer, always up to date (drivcleaners, everything), always cleaning temp files/registry, virus searches, frequent complete restarts, a lot of disc space, always close unused programs. It runs really well

My computer is an Asus Vivobook laptop, Windows 10, 8 GB ram, total memory 4568mb, VRAM 1009mb, AMD Radeon Vega 8 Mobile Graphics. 3 years old. Not a super powerful computer I know, but it runs games pretty well actually.

This happened in the final few weeks of my senior year. I was getting ready to graduate, and trying to decide if I should pass the reins to Amy 3, Pepper or Hannah the eviscerator. I'd undecorated my room, and was getting some studying done for finals, up way past my bedtime when there was a tap tap tap at my window. I looked to see a figure silhouetted against the dark night. I pointed towards the front door and, with a sigh, went to meet the person who'd be keeping me up.
I should have known who it was when I grabbed the door knob and felt it was ice cold. Not realizing the value of these omens, I opened the door to see Dahlia the harpy. She was certainly in a state, hair a mess, cheaters molting, with streaks of mascara running down her face. Her eyes were red from crying. I mean redder than usual. In a pitiable voice she asked "are you Shannon?" I said that I was. She asked if I still let anyone come to me with any problem. I said I did. She said "we haven't met, but my name is Dahlia. Will you help me?"
I stood slackjawed for a moment until a sniff snapped me out of it. I took a moment and thought WWHD (what would Helga do) and decided I would. "FUCK" I shouted and sprang to my feet. It took everything in me to not strangle that woman where she sat. She looked up at me alarmed and afraid and I shouted "I SPILLED MY ICE CREAM AND I NEED TO GET A TOWEL." I shouted this loud enough that a few curious heads peeked out of their dorms.
Hannah asked if I was ok as I walked by. She heard me muttering "don't kill her don't kill her" and asked if I wanted her to take over.
I replied "no, but I'm going to need you on standby for afterwards. For me." I made it back to my room, screamed as loud as I could into my pillow, got a towel, composed myself and returned to face the monster. I was something that resembled composed when I finally got back, less than three minutes after my outburst, and I was able to pick up my ice cream and resume the conversation. Now given its prevalence in the story, it may surprise you to find out that while I do like butter pecan, it isn't my favorite. I don't know why it became the universal comfort ice cream of my college days, but it seemed everyone liked it and it worked to cheer them up so I didn't question it. The rest of that pint, though, tasted like ashes.
Dahila explained that when she told the father she was pregnant and it was his he'd literally run away, blocked her on everything and last she'd heard he'd left the state. Given that Dahlia was an eye eating harpy this response was understandable but absolutely detestable.
"Deliah, honey." That word was a struggle to get out. "Why would you do that? The thing with Ethan?"
She looked up at me and there was only despair in her eyes. "Because if I don't I… I'm… I'm afraid."

What kind of degree did your mom have?"
"She got her GED when I was nine."

What if he does the math and realizes that you can't deliver at a full 40 weeks if you've only been pregnant 32 weeks. What if he does a DNA test for one of those heritage websites? He might not know, but you will, Dahlia. You'll always know, and it will eat you up inside. What happens if, in ten years, you get in a fight and get drunk and decide to tell him, just to see how much it hurts him? Because it will hurt him. It will kill him. Do you think he's earned that?"
She just cried. She cried and cried and cried. And finally, in the smallest voice, she whispered "no".
"Then you have to do the right thing."
"I can't!" She shouted, then cried some more. "Will you help me? Please?"
Come to Shannon with your problems! She'll always do whatever she can. I got the number from her, and with each digit I dialed I cursed the stupid reputation I'd cultivated. I almost came close to even considering to curse Helga for believing in me.
The phone rang, and with each a sprout of hope blossomed in my heart, hope that it would go to voice-mail. And at last my prayers were answered! "It's Ethan, leave a message. If this is mom, hi mom!" Beep. I hung up, relief flooding into me. I tossed my phone down on the table and took another bite of ice cream.
Then I heard it.
The wrrr wrrr wrrr of my phone vibrating on the table. I recognized the number. Dahlia looked at me, a silent plea in her eyes.
I answered it on speaker. "Hello?" I said.
"Hey, I missed a call from this number?" Ethan said, from his voice he'd been asleep.
"Hi is this Ethan? Hi, my name is Shannon McMatthews, I'm the RA of dorm 6." I waited a moment for a reply.
"Uh…"
Well I suppose that one was on me, I didn't give him much to go on. "Now don't worry" I was about to say that nothing was wrong but that wasn't the truth. "She's not hurt, but I'm here with Dahlia. She needs to talk to you."
I clicked it off speaker and slid my phone over to Dahlia, who took it in shaking hands. I said "I'll give you some privacy. Come knock on my door when you're done."
She did a few minutes later and from her expression I knew how the call went. I just took my phone back and hugged her. She didn't want to talk more, so I walked her back to her dorm, returned to my own and then cried my eyes out. I told Hannah what had happened, and then without explaining to them what was wrong, she got the other girls to come out. And I cried. Because it's me and I guess that's my thing. I realized I'd been burying my feelings. That I didn't want this to end with graduation.
Pepper started it. One by one they took turns telling me about how I'd helped them, about when I'd been there for them, about what I'd done for them. They told me they loved me, how much it meant to just know I was there. Rachel said she thought of me as a big sister. Amy 2 said I was like the mom she never had. Hannah said I'd given her a voice. Girls, if any of you are reading this, know that it was a pleasure and an honor to have been there for you. Yea ok I'm sorry if this isn't the place to be asking but I think asking you guys is a very good option, basically me and my gf still in high both 17, yes we are active we had unprotected sex 6-8 months ago for our first time, she took plan b jut in case and we went on with our lives, in that time yes we have been active but we ALWAYS use protection and pulling out even with a condom not once have we been been unsafe since that first time she was getting her periods pretty regularly except the first few months they where different from the side effects of plan b, but the last few months her period has been progressively earlier and earlier normally she gets it around the 22nd - 25th every month but lately it's been coming as early as the 12th but now she is 10 days late we have probably have had sex a couple times since her last period, always using protection any time I have finished in the condom I've always check for leaks and there hasn't been any, any time it had broken I've immediately pulled out and put a new one on, but I'm pretty sure none have broken since her last period, however could this jut be her period coming around her normal time again or is it us about to be teen parents, either way i we know stress does affect her period and if I'm being honest we have had some rough patches in our relationship this last month however we have made up and it seems better but her period being late is obviously stressing her out, I think we are gonna test tmr or the next day and go from there

Had to take out my phone to check something urgently after I was done pissing but wasn't able to wash my hands just yet because I was still in the bathroom stall. How dirty is that, really? I always make sure to wash my hands and with soap afterwards... but I can't help but to feel like the thing I've touched before washing my hands is dirty because of me touching my genitals and every time I touch the said thing and touch something else, it just makes it all dirty.
If it was at home, it'd be a lot easier for obvious reasons... but since the public bathroom didn't have any towels and I didn't have any wet wipes to wipe my phone down, I just felt like I made everything I touched dirty because I have to use my phone to get my shit done.
Surely, it really isn't gonna easily contaminate everything right? Surely, touching the stuff you feel like you've contaminated isn't as dirty (from one's own perception) as the actual stuff you initially touched right? It's not like I was touching my junk and then touching something else... but just touching my phone then touching something else.

I recently started using Midjourney 5 to try to generate some fan art for Cradle. I've always wished there was more art for the series as I have a hard time imagining any book in my head. Unless I actually see some art of something, I basically don't have an image for what it looks like.
AI art is basically the only way I'd be able to help contribute to that. So I've spent many hours over the past few days generating different pieces with the intent of posting it here. As I looked through previous posts, I found a lot of negative comments towards AI generated art being posted here.
I agree that generated art should be clearly labeled as such, and it probably should have its own flair. I also agree that fan art done by real artists is preferrable, especially because it's easier to be more accurate to the descriptions in the book.
I mostly just wanted to check if there is the general vibe that there shouldn't be AI generated art here, or if maybe it's an outspoken minority?

Hi everyone. Just wanted to know if somebody else's cat was doing this and what does it mean? Should I take him to the vet? How do I get him to stop?

In short, we moved a couple of days ago. New house, new rules, I can imagine it's been stressful for him. But it's becoming quite challenging for us too. He wakes us up by digging at his litter box every 5 minutes. He continues to do this whenever we're around, but he doesn't do anything (no pee, or poo). He does position himself as if he's peeing, but I've checked the litter immediately after, and there's nothing. So basically all he's doing is tossing the litter around and carrying it all over the apartment (I know he doesn't do this purposefully, but it's still annoying). He will come out of the litter box and start meowing our ears off. Why is he doing this?
It's a new toilet, and it has a lid. He was using a toilet without the lid prior to this. I've tried removing the lid, but nothing changed, only that he was literally throwing sand around.
I'm considering taking him to the vet because I don't know if it's stress, a UTI or something else. Does anyone know what it means and what can I do to stop it?

So here’s the thing, I started the Ghost Bird like 2 years ago and mid book saw that the series wasn’t complete so I cut off the reading and waited like a year to check back in. I’m just confused and spoilers allowed I want to know if what’s already written is worth it?
For example how many more books are coming out? Is there a lot more to go where the story line is concerned so I should just wait until all the books are out? Or was the last book finished but the author is now wanted to extend the series? Can someone please explain 😂😩 it looked promising so I was interested in seeing the rest.
Also I know this is a slow burn but how slow are we talking? I remember there was a handful of guys in the harem so it can’t be that slow can it? What book does someone actually make a move?
