Is it realistic to ever be able to beat your competitor in monthly sales if they are already dominate in a specific product niche. considering that they already have at least a year of revenue and will probably have a much much much bigger budget for running ads constantly?
Or is there pretty much no shot and you will forever be under them, even though you may experience fantastic growth and generate meaningful revenue. I guess what I'm asking is, does the big fish always eat the little fish?
and a side question... how much competitors is TOO much anyway? 1 other seller? 2? 10? 20? I thought my niche was not too bad and id be able to swing it and become a 5th place best seller, but now I’m having a little bit of doubt thinking I may have been a bit overzealous, or even ignorant to how much money needs to be invested to get something running....

So, I like boardgames, and decided to back some on kickstarter because I had a good friend who always played them with me, we had a few mutual friends who would join, and my boyfriend and I were also planning on playing together. Well, two years later (roughly) I don't talk to any of them, but I get those boardgames and so I told my two current friend groups (one old, one new) about it and both were supportive and said they'd play them with me. The old friend group is mostly people from out of state, so I asked my new group if they'd play with me, and they said yeah.
We set everything up and yesterday (6/3) was the day after they got off work. I bought pizza, I cleaned the house, and I got everything I had to do out of the way between yesterday and today before they came over. One of them didn't bother telling me they weren't coming, despite texting me that morning about something else. I learned through the other two. That sucked, but whatever I got two friends that are down to play. New board game is complex! Took a long time to open, set up and figure out what was what. We get through just about 1/10th of the game, took super long because we kept getting distracted with other things and eventually just stop playing. I decide that I'm just gonna clean up and pack up, and they ask if I want help, but it's fine cause I can do it myself so no big deal. I'm not kicking them out, just a bit upset about everything. They leave pretty soon afterwards anyways; it is 2 in the morning.
Now I'm just sitting here, 4 hours out of my night and I'm just sad. I wanted to hang out with my friends and show them this niche-ish thing I like and figure out this new board game. This entire day was super nerve-racking and exciting for me, but now I'm just crying because I know I fucked up losing the people I was originally planning on playing the games with, but I also got a new group that doesn't fucking care. It's just so lonely. I don't always wanna do what my friends wanna do, but if I wanna hang out with people then I gotta because my stuff isn't interesting. I can't talk about my niche education interests with one of my groups because they just stop listening and say "I just hear static" to me, and most of the games I've found fun they've already played a ton of between themselves. The other will listen to that and support me, but I don't wanna play their games all the time and I'm fine just sitting in call with them while playing my own stuff by myself. Both groups are great most of the time, it just sucks that I don't have people for the stuff I'm into.

My house sale will complete this week. After paying off a couple of debts, I’ll have £80k left that I need advice on.
I currently live in my partners property which still has 2 years left on a low rate fixed-term mortgage. Her property is worth about £400k and the mortgage left on it is a little under half. When that mortgage runs out, we’ll either get a joint mortgage on this property or look at getting a larger property together.
In the meantime, I’d like some advice on what would be best to do with that £80k.
I’ve considered: - Cash ISAs for a ‘rainy day fund’ £20k - Fixed rate bond accounts for the rest. - We’ve also talked about me adding to overpay her mortgage but know that that could get messy.

So my mom is going to be 60 soon. She is severely obese and has knee issues and diabetes. She leads a fairly unhealthy lifestyle (not much activity outside the house, meal times are not set, eating random crap etc.).

I (18M) recently graduated from high school and will be attending collage out of state. I'm saying this because I was from the bay area originally, I lived there for about 10 years until the 5th grade. Around 1st grade I met my childhood friend (18F) who we'll call J who's sister (20F) was and kind of still is my sister's (20F) friend but they've basically lost all contact. Tonight my friends band played a show at the tap house in Winnipeg. This was also the first night I told him I was bi. He supported me.
We left after his set and I drove him home.
Something was just off with me and I was having trouble just remaining at his place. There's a gay bar below where he played called club happenings. I couldn't get it out of my mind.
Even though I only felt fear I told my friend I had to go

So I did.
Bare in mind I was crying when I said so because I'm conditioned to believe I deserve to die.
I drove my social anxious ass all the way back to this gay bar and paid ten dollars to get in an hour before close. I then paid ten dollars for a beer and sat against a wall by myself talking to nobody, because I only have one friend and I've already dropped him off.
I mostly sat cross legged enjoying people being themselves around me.
Through out my sitting by myself like a Buddha the bartenders did stare at me a few times. On the way out one of them touched me on the shoulder and said thanks for coming.
I know they did it on purpose because I was alone and hurting.
I cant explain how much that meant to my suicidal ass.
Just that whole place. Even though I was alone, I felt no fear and it brought me peace .

I've done a lot of things that I am proud of. I've screwed up a lot of things too. I wasted my 20s. Went back to school at 30. Bought a fancy house in a nice neighborhood. My wife and I had a change of heart and realized we wanted to retire early, so we sold the fancy house and bought a duplex to house hack (still fixing up the other side). We also bought a triplex a few years ago that ended up being cash flow negative. Sold it a few years later and ended up losing a lot of money over all. So now my wife and I are 37. Total income about $90k. Total cost of living about $31k. $45k mortgage and no other debt. Only $20k in the 401k and $10k in a Roth IRA. $40k in savings.
I suppose how we are doing depends on who you compare us to. Most people aren't doing this well. On the other hand, I'm disgusted with myself and all the money and time I've wasted. I look at my retirement savings and I'm ashamed. I could have done so much better. Obviously, I'm going to do the right thing now and invest close to 2/3 our income towards retirement, but I wonder if retiring early is just not in the cards for us at this point. What do you think?
Edit: we also have two teenage daughters who will need help paying for college soon. 12 and 15.

Tldr: I was looking at some races for a different game and decided to put them in mutants and masterminds. Have a look.
So I was reading through some stuff on the old world of darkness at the same time as I’m going through the mutants and masterminds gm’s guide and I thought It would be cool to stat up some of the splats as templates. Specifically the various kiths for changing the dreaming because I think I can get them under 15 power points. So without further adieu let's get into it
So for you who don’t know, CTD is a game about playing fae(who in this universe are personifications of dreams) who have been stranded on earth in mortal guise trying to survive the death of imagination.
Now this just scratches the surface so I'll leave a link to the fandom down below but here’s what we're here to discuss: the kiths. In changeling games these are the races that you pick at character creation and determine your abilities each represent the dream that your changeling was born from.
quick note these won’t be exactly rules accurate(to changeling) because that would be really tedious I’m just trying to get the general vibe for each power
#1 Boggans: house fae, these little hobbit looking guys represent dreams of comfort and home.
Craftwork: quickness 4 limited(only when not seen by non boggans); enhanced advantage skill mastery( expertise of players choice) 3 points
Social dynamics: mind reading 2 limited(only to tell relationships) [role required optional] 3 [2] points
Good with people: enhanced advantage skill mastery(insight) [not in the book but felt like it belonged) 1 point
Complication: call of the needy:needs to make a will save(set by dm) not to help people who ask for it(excluding swore enemies)
#2 Eshu: born from mortal stories and the wonder of travel, these fae are always ready to go on an adventure.
Spirit pathways: immunity 5 (getting lost) feature 1(always right place, right time) [I have no idea if this is accurate because I can’t find their stats anywhere. But it’s cool so we’re leaving it in) 6 points
Storyteller: enhanced advantage 2 ( skill mastery deception and expertise storytelling) 2 points.
Complication: reckless: exactly what it says on the tin but magically induced.
#3 Knocker: born from dreams of invention these foul mouthed craftsmen create wonders from dreams.
Master craftsman: enhanced advantage(skill focus technology and intimidate), artificer. 3 points
Fix-it: feature(can repair jury rig a piece of technology with intimidate [by threatening it] 1 point
Forge chimera: (honestly this power is pretty worthless so i’m just going to give you an array) gadgets array 4(base power) with two alternate effects. [if your using the dream being complication below this doesn’t work on mortals if you don’t use extra effort] 6 points
Complication: flaw: everything a Knocker makes inevitable has some kind of minor flaw that can never be fixed. Not only does this inconvenience these craftsmen but it annoys them to no end of being sighted as the reason for their bad attitude.
#4 Redcap: the children of violent and savage dreams these fairies constantly eat and are never satisfied.
Dark appetites: strength based damage 1 (flavor bite attack), 1 point [maybe subject to glamor cost complication below.)
Deadly bite: enhanced advantage(bite attack) 1 point
Scary: enhanced advantage(skill mastery intimidate) 1 point
Bully browbeat:perception ranged affliction 2 resisted and overcome by will (entranced, compelled, controlled) sense dependent(hearing) Limited (chimera[dream monsters]) 4 points
Complications
Bad attitude: no one likes redcaps, even other redcaps.
# 5 Trolls: born from dreams of honor and duty, these giants are defined by the oaths they carry.
Titans strength: enhanced strength 2, enhanced stamina 2[may be subject to dream being complicated. unless you use extra effort it won’t work around humans] 4 points
Stubborn: immunity(interaction effects) limited to half 3 points
Vigilant sentinel: enhanced advantage(skill mastery athletics, perception)
Complications
Bond of duty: should a troll renegade on their oath the dreaming will lash out and deprive them of their titans strength until they atone.
Rage: if a troll is betrayed they feel an intense rage often unexpected due to their typically quiet nature.
# 6 Slaugh: born from the fears of what goes bump in the night, these Adams family lookalikes inhabit the dark and cramped spaces of the world and know many secrets.
Squirm: insubstantial 1 role required 4 points
Perceptive sulker: enhanced advantage(skill mastery stealth and perception) 2 points
Sharpened senses: senses 3 (detect ghost 2 (sight and hearing) 4 points (could add extended hearing but they're already expensive as heckl.) 3 points
Gross munchies: immunity 1(spoiled food) 1 point
Complication: curse of silence: due to ancient punishments for crimes long since passed the underfolk can not raise their voice above a whisper.(this would be so hard to role play lol)
# 7 pooka: born from the stories of animal tricksters, for every lie these pranksters fae tell there is a truth, and vice versa.
Shapchange: morph 1(meta morph 1) quirk 1(can’t transform while people are looking) quirk 3(no objects change with you)[this is a animal form that each pooka can turn into] 2 points
Author's note: okay I kinda of ran into a problem that a lot of animals are higher pl than 1. So if you're playing a character of a lower pl than what you turn into just build it to your cap and justify it as your young or not used to your bestial form yet.
Confidant: favored foe(people who confide in them[need that sweet bonus to interaction skills])
Manipulative: enhanced advantage(skill mastery deception and insight)
Complication: Lies: in everything but the shortest of phrases pooka must mix in a lie. They may try to resist with a will save(set by dm) in which case they may tell the truth for a number of minutes per degree of success.
# 8 sidhe: born from dreams of royalty, these inhumanly beautiful fae rule changeling society.
Inhumanly beautiful: enhanced presence 2; 4 points
Awe and beauty: sustained reaction[always attack] affliction resided and overcome by will (entranced, defenseless) limited to two degrees 6 points
Noble bearing: feature 1(no spell can ever embarrass a sidhe)
Complication: Weakness: banality’s curse: sidhe are not of this world and as such are more vulnerable to its dangers(changelings can die from being around boring people in the lore. I get the theme but it’s pretty silly. For a more appropriate complication for a m&m game just give them pride or something.)
Lastly, just because I think they're neat, here's one of the kiths introduced in the 20th anniversary edition.
# 9 Sachamama: inspired by dreams of lounging pythons, the only thing that interests the serpentine fae more than food is gossip.
Snake skinned: morph 1(snake form) removable -1 ( as the grow in levels many will use metamorph to gain an additional snake form which trades magic for more combat oriented stats for when strength is required over cunning.) 4 points
Keen observers: senses ? extended hearing 1, extended vision 1, counters illusions, danger sense (hearing)
Snake tail: sachamama can turn their legs into tails at will. Movement 2 slithering 2 2 points.
Author’s note: because of their expensive nature they typically won’t have all defenses at pl at pl 1. Sachamama generally forsake dodge if forced to choose.
Complication: Gorging: the snake fae have to eat twice as much as normal in order to stay healthy and are clumsy in the hours after a big meal.
The calling: once a year a Sachamama hunger grows to immense heights and over the course of a day or two must eat 500 pounds of meat. Some retreat to the jungles to sate their passions, others make legendary runs to the market, and a select few use it as a chance to satisfy darker hungers.
Universal complications:
Glamor cost: changelings must expend glamor(collected human whimsy) to cast spells. Treat this in the same way you would ammo for guns.
Dream being: changeling magic is derived from dreams and as such has difficulties affecting the human world. Personally If you're including this in m&m don’t use this because it makes changelings practically useless but if you do treat all spells(not included because not all of them know spells) as check required unless they use extra effort in which case they can use it for the rest of the scene unhindered.

My name is Yusuf. My life was mediocre and below mediocre most of the time before 16-17 years old. Until 2012-2013. That was my last year if the high school so i was studying for university. i was going for study. It's something people pay to let their children go and study with the help if teacher. It's the same thing as school but since you pay money the teacher are better. There was 12 or 13 class and they are arranged by success. I was in the top class with other 11-12 student. I am working in physical science. there was a social science classes too and it's top class and our class is on the same floor. There was this girl showing sooo much attention to me. It was the first time a girl showed me attention. She literally shower me with attention i was over the clouds. Some time later it turns to love. When you spend most of your time with someone you started to love her.it started as a friendship then close friendship then love. She was my first (and last) love. I happened to live my firsts with her. Even sitting in a room together in silence made my heart race like a horse. I even met her parents went to their house. One time my parents weren't at home, she asked her parents if i can stay with her but they didn't allow. We were good until not :( our bond started to get weaker and weaker on her end. She didn't spend her time with me, she act like she don't see me when she walks pass by me. I am i begged her to not leave me, tell me the thing i did wrong i will correct it. I am losing my part every second every minute bit by bit. When she falls in love first time, the boy he loved left her and she was mentally fucked. Her mother took her from school and take her to vacation for 1 month. It took very long time to heal herself. I asked her don't you feel the same thing why are you leaving me? She said no one cared for me when I am down m don't expect me to help you. You are going to deal with it. I am fucked at that moment. I still fucking remember that moment like yesterday. The moment i am fucked. 2-3 months left to my university exam. I feel i am fucked in every pore if my skin. I am heart broken. I am down i am nothing. I wasted my 2 months before exam by playing games with my friends outside lying to my parents i am studying. Going out in the morning and coming back at 9pm at home. i never felt that kind of pain before. I still have the remains of the injury in my hearth. I got in university exam. I choose s university in another city cause i cant see her in the streets if Ankara it would destroy me. I will Neel down and cry so i moved another city. I grew up in a very strict family i have no friends in the street my family didn't allow me to go play outside i have no computer because they think i wouldn't study my lessons. When i moved out of the city they got me a computer cause i am going to be an 'engineer' i played games 24/7 all day all night didn't fi to school for 2 years and lied all those time to my parents. I still have the pain in my heart. I never smoked or drink alcohol before. We got drunk by singing sad song with my friends i dorm. I play games i never go out of my dorm room. We drink and smoke got wasted and cry for our loved ones. I lost my 2 year without doing nothing. Not passing one single lesson on uni. Some point my family decided to move in the city i am in and wanted to take control of me. We fight all the time at home. I graduated eventually in 2020. Yes i am engineer but i have nothing else. No social skills, no plus things, no friends, no life nothing. I was stay at home boy. I got myself a lock for my door and locked myself in for most of the day to not see my parents because whenever we see each other we fight. I sleep wake up thinking about suicide and sleep again. This was the my life circle for 2 years. My luck turned out in December 2021 and got myself a little job. Nothing big but honest work. I was working for a Ukrainian company. Russia declared war to Ukraine and i got fired. I found this job on April i am doing okay in terms of job but not socially or mentally.

When I was 11, my dad died and my mother fell into a deep mental health crisis. She stopped cleaning the house, stopped cooking, stopped doing anything except going to work and sleeping. My brother was still in diapers at the time, and I was homeschooled and not allowed out of the house. I remember the bathroom stacking up with dirty diaper after dirty diaper when she'd give him a bath. I remember our dog messing up the living room every day. After the crisis began to clear, she had incredible anxiety separating from items, so the hoarding stayed and continues to this day. It's not as bad as it was, but there were days in middle and highschool where there wasn't an inch of floor visible, and I couldn't get the stench off of me.
My mom kicked me out at 17. For the last two years, I've lived relatively stress free and bounced from place to place. My first major purchase was an air purifier that I thank god for. I have one cat, and I neurotically clean her litter box and the bathroom to eliminate any smells that pop up. I'm nose oriented now and I like my peace.
When I saw my ex boyfriend a bit ago, his dog made a mess in the house while I was inside, no ventilation. Instead of responding normally, I started having a panic attack and crying. I feel uneasy around mice/rats because of the years that they'd pile up in sticky traps in our house. If I get harassed by flies at work, I can't settle down and feel depressed/anxious the rest of the day. Roaches are the only pest I can somewhat stand, and even then that's only because I only see them at work. Smells drive me insane. I don't like big dogs because their smell reminds me of home.
When people talk about nostalgia over their teenage years, I don't get any. Everything was always filthy and no one wanted to be around me. I hate that I fall into crying fits at the smell of mold. I hate that I can't have people over at my house very often because I'm paranoid about keeping everything clean.
My mother and I's relationship has never been better, but it's still difficult because I don't know how to reconcile it in my head. She's mentally unwell, but I resent her. I feel angry that I can't smell something rotring and just go "ew". I'm resentful that I can't look at pests or dogs and not feel disgust that shakes me to my bones. I'm angry that I can't be harassed by a fly without feeling intense flashbacks.
I just wish it didn't haunt me anymore.

F(29 yrs), thinking of finding a roomie to share a 2 bedroomed house in parklands (ideally a female rommie). I dont want to air bnb it because i would be uncomfortable sharing my house with multiple random strangers. Are there agencies that identify and match potetial rommies?

Hello, I’m asking this out of concern for one of my friends. He still do not have any accommodation but he doesn’t seem to be very worried by it - he has a very high budget and seems to be confident that this will give him an advantage in finding housing. I’m just wondering whether or not he is correct, because if he is not, he’ll probably be crashing in my place. We’re friends, but this is something which I’m not really planning on.
