2023.06.04 12:59 Hantr A guide on what cards to pick up for Shadowverse Evolve Set BP01: Advent of Genesis
With Shadowverse Evolve Set BP01 coming to english on **June 30th**,
I'd like to provide a guide on which cards to look out for and to buy based on their overall importance and usage for the set 01 meta and the upcoming sets.
Of course, if you are planning to focus on/main a singular class, you should definitely just buy splits of the particular class that you would like to main, I don't condone any card hogging and I don't think you should buy cards that you are not going to play. This guide is purely to help players to know which cards to get when the set releases so they can build their decks for the current set and for the future sets.
It is worth mentioning that all cards can be useful and this list is my opinion based on my experience playing the JP format.
*High priority cards* are cards that are usually deemed as staples/must-haves in many decks and will be used for quite some time.
*Medium priority cards* are cards that are meta-relevant and have good skills that has generally seen usage throughout the sets.
*Low priority cards* are niches that might be worth noting as their usage are very meta-dependent.
Now let's begin
# ELF
## PRIORITY - HIGH
- *Ancient Elf* - Pretty much used in every elf deck for the elf-harvest draw engine and the tempo. bounces cards, high stats for the cost, and enables one of the most broken draw engines in the class.
- *Harvest Festival* - Elf's main draw engine in most decks, with the combination of this card and any card that bounces cards, you get to draw cards to increase options during the game and consistent.
- *Nature's guidance* - This card is absolutely busted and is pure value, gives two draws in elf-harvest draw engine and allows your units' fanfare abilities to be reused, even so 1 pp for 1 draw is already really good. Used in most elf decks.
## PRIORITY - MEDIUM
- *Silver bolt* - One of the non-interactive cards in the game, used in elf decks as finishers that quick spells cannot counter, used in decks whenever more finishing power is required.
- *Elven princess mage* - Really good unit that sees use in combo decks, providing 2 wisps gives you 2 free combo counts at any given point and is mainly used in combo elf.
## PRIORITY - LOW
- *Elf Child May* - Really good card that is used for tempo and board control, pairs really nicely with ancient elf and nature's guidance.
- *Rose Queen* - Good finishing card for fairy forest, the card can deal 6 damage immediately on fanfare (given you have a full EX of fairies), and generates potentially 15 damage on spells only.
- *Blessed fairy dancer* - Good card to buff fairies in fairy elf, 2/3 for 2pp is decent and the effect is quite strong.
# ROYAL
## PRIORITY - HIGH
- *Aurelia, Regal Saber* - Big stats that can impact the board immediately when you play it, gaining aura makes it immensely valuable as aura is one of the most broken keywords in the game, will be used in most royal decks going forward.
## PRIORITY - MEDIUM
- *Swordsman* - A 2/1 that can act other followers on fanfare is really valuable, especially against pesky followers that want to be in stand position, being able to reuse that ability with its ACT skill is good too.
- *Novice trooper* - 3/3 Storm, sees a lot of use early but fell off in later sets due to having good replacements, but nevertheless, good stats for a card with storm, works extremely well in tempo/aggro decks for immediate pressure.
- *Gemstaff commander* - 3/2 follower that tutors anything is insane, making royal one of the few classes that can utilize a lot of 1-ofs in decks, will always have a place in midrange/tempo royal decks for consistency.
## PRIORITY - LOW
- *Maid Leader* - Essentially a slightly worse gemstaff commander, saw a bit of usage when royal needs more consistency.
- *Luminous Knight* - A really strong card for aggro royal, curves really well if you had played a turn 1 follower.
- *Ninja Trainee* - 1pp 2/2, good stats, has keywords and a better goblin (1pp 2/2 with no keywords).
# WITCH
## PRIORITY - HIGH
- *Merlin* - used in almost every witch deck, the ability to search any spell and reuse spells from the graveyard is really powerful, also allows the inclusion of 1-of spells.
- *Dimension Shift* - one of the core cards for OTKs in witch, this card will always be focal point of OTK witch for a long time.
- *Sorcery Cache* - used in almost every spellchain-centric deck (which is most of it), it accelerates spell-chain and gets you your core spells.
## PRIORITY - MEDIUM
- *Flame destroyer* - key piece in dimension-shift OTK, free 7/7 on spellchain 15 is really good.
- *Fate's hand* - good card that pluses in spell-chain, it is also not bad in non-spellchain witch decks.
## PRIORITY - LOW
- *Teachings of creation* - good card that is only used in earth rite, cycles and gives you a stack for 1pp.
- *Fiery's embrace* - good quick spell that is good in certain matchups, usable as a 1-off or 2-off to prevent storm units from ending the game.
# DRAGON ## PRIORITY - HIGH
- *Dark Dragoon Forte* - Storm Aura 7/3, doesn't need much explanation, a staple in dragon.
- *Shenlong* - Restricted in JP and will get restricted in english soon, but even as a 1-of, the +5 healing and the plusing is really good, especially when the discard cost can be mitigated with some cards.
- *Blazing Breath* - Absolute bonkers quick spell, in overflow for a 1pp deal 4 is insane, kills off a lot of threats with 1pp.
## PRIORITY - MEDIUM
- *Aiela, Dragon's Knight* - Essentially another copy of Dragon's Oracle in your deck, very good for control or midrange centric dragon decks and get to your wincon faster.
- *Genesis Dragon* - 9pp for 10/12 storm is always going to be good, especially because the only quick spells that can counterplay against this is something like *Execution* or the previously mentioned *Fiery's Embrace*, insanely good finisher for any dragon deck that requires it.
- *Serpent's Wrath* - good quick spells that gives you back your hand, while not as good as *Blazing Breath*, 5 damage is good enough to destroy a lot of threats that CIP during your opponents turn.
## PRIORITY - LOW
- *Conflagaration* - 5 pp for a board reset is pretty good, considering dragon can ramp their PP, used in control dragon.
- *Shapeshifting Mage* - 5/5 for 2pp during overflow is already good, the Assail and Bane of the unit for evolve is icing on the cake to deal against units with Aura like *Aurelia, Regal Saber*
# NIGHTMARE ## PRIORITY - HIGH
- *Cerberus* - Used in most nightmare decks, the generated tokens are useful for board control and finishing games.
- *Crazed Executioner* - Crazy card with a high skill ceiling, knowing your opponent's hand gives you a lot of info and minusing their key combo pieces is really good. Used in most control nightmare decks.
## PRIORITY - MEDIUM
- *Dire Bond* - really good draw engine and also a crimson enabler, used in crimson-centric decks.
- *Dark General* - 4PP 5/5 Storm is always going to be good, almost always included in crimson decks.
- *Ambling Wrath* - Cheap crimson enabler, 1pp 2/1 that is also good in aggro.
- *Death's Breath* - Very useful card to can be used to recycle big and strong units, this card is almost always used in control nightmare.
- *Soul conversion* - Good way for nightmare to draw cards, especially when nightmare has a lot of cheap followers and tokens such as *Ghosts* or *Forest Bats*.
## PRIORITY - LOW
- *Righteous Devil* - Niche use to deal with pesky standing/aura units.
- *Skeleton Fighter* - Used in most aggro nightmare decks that utilize crimson, 1pp 3/3 can be hard to deal with in the early game.
- *Razory Claw* - decent quick spell and a good way to randomly end games as it can target the leader.
# BISHOP ## PRIORITY - HIGH
- *Jeanne D'Arc* - used in most bishop decks, good stats and a board clear while also buffing your board, really good.
- *Sacred Plea* - Bishop's draw engine, 1pp for 1 draw or 3 pp for 2 draw, both are good depending on the situation and will be used in most bishop decks for a long time
- *Dark Offering* - 1pp to heal 3 and draw 1 is already really good, combined with bishop that has units that can benefit off this in future sets, will be used in a lot of bishop decks.
## PRIORITY - MEDIUM
- *Themis's Decree* - A consistent 5pp board reset that bypasses aura, almost always used in control haven.
- *Blackened Scripture* - A very good quick spell, banishing a follower is better than destroying, will see play in most haven decks.
## PRIORITY - LOW
- *Curate* - 6pp 5/5 with a really good effect, sees some play due to the healing and will be used more in later sets.
- *Guardian sun* - Bad in this set, but worth noting that when Aegis comes out, this card is a staple.
- *Prism Priestess* - Decent tutor card for havencraft, very similar to *Maid Leader* for Royal.
- *Moon Al-mi'raj* - Decent in this set, but will fall off quite hard in later sets, one of the only cards with storm in the entire class.
# NEUTRALS
## PRIORITY - HIGH
- *Bellringer Angel* - Best cycle card to ever have released and is still played on a lot of decks till this day on BP06 meta (JP), pick up this card while you can.
## PRIORITY - MEDIUM
- *Urd* - One of the only EX-Area destruction that SVE currently has, this card is usually meta-dependent card and will be used whenever there are strong decks that utilize the EX-Area in the meta.
- *Lucifier* - Good card in set 01, falls off quite hard in the upcoming sets but is really strong in the first set.
- *Path to Purgatory* - This card is used in aggro decks, and can be any aggro deck's card draw, the absurd +3 and board reset when low is really good when low on fuel in aggro decks.
## PRIORITY - LOW
- *Trail of Light* - any deck that discards can make use of this card, really useful in spellchain witch and discard dragon.
- *Execution* - neutral 4pp destroy quick spell, also one of the only cards that can also destroy amulets which is really good. Meta-dependent card.
- *Angelic Snipe* - neutral 1pp quick spell, very useful in control decks and if the meta is dominated by aggro or strong 2HP followers. Currently a very meta card in BP06 due to royal, nightmare.
*That is all the note worthy cards for this set, let me know if I missed anything*

2023.06.04 12:55 kooka777 Six dangers of laziness
Sigālaka, there are six dangers of laziness. You don’t get your work done because you think, ‘It’s too cold! It’s too hot! It’s too late! It’s too early! I’m too hungry! I’m too full!’ By relying on so many excuses for not working, you don’t make any more money, and the money you already have runs out. Sigālaka, these are the six dangers of laziness.”
That is what the Buddha said. The Blessed One further said,
“Some are just drinking buddies, some call you their dear, dear friend, but a true friend is one who stands by you in need.
“Waking up late, adultery, living with hatred, harming others, associating with bad friends, and greediness: these six things ruin a person.
“With bad friends, bad companions, bad behavior, a person falls to ruin in both this world and the next.
“Gambling, associating with others’ wives, drinking alcohol, infatuated with music and dance; sleeping by day and roaming at night; bad friends, and excessive greed: these six things ruin a person.
“They gamble, drink alcohol, and associate with others’ wives. Associating with those with evil qualities,
“And not associating with people who have good qualities, they decline like the fading moon.
“A drunkard, broke, and poor, thirsty, drinking in the bar, drowning in debt, will quickly destroy his family.
“When he’s in the habit of sleeping during day time, going to bed very early, and always getting drunk, he can’t succeed in life.
“‘Too cold, too hot, too late,’ he says. When the person neglects his work like this, wealth passes him by.
“But one who considers hot and cold as nothing more than blades of grass— he does his duty energetically, and happiness never goes away from him

2023.06.04 12:49 54ltymuch Re-Structuring the MCU from the ground up - Phase Three
This is the final phase of the first arc/saga of this new universe which has so far been well received. If you haven't read
Phase One and
Phase Two, I would welcome you to do so.
Now then, let's finish this arc.
Schedule - Doctor Strange: The Oath
- The Brotherhood of Mutants 2
- Inhumans
- Captain Marvel
- Iron Man: The Five Nightmares
- X-Force
- Black Panther: War of the Worlds
- Spider-Man: The First Hunt
- Marvel Presents: The Phoenix Force - Part One
- Moon Knight
- Inhumans vs. X-Men
- Marvel Presents: The Phoenix Force - Part Two
Doctor Strange: The Oath
Get a character study director on this, I like the profile of Greta Gerwig but I fear I may be overusing her.
As the title suggests, it's a faithful adaptation of the Oath storyline from the comics, a storyline very small in scale and a lot more personal than the usual Doctor Strange adventure. For the unfamiliar, the story is about an elixir that could potentially save the world from a very specific disease, one that Wong is afflicted with, and the story ends with Strange deciding to save Wong by using the last of the elixir rather than potentially save the world. We will continue to set up Nightmare as the big bad for the final Doctor Strange film, as he possesses access to the affliction the elixir cures, and sends dark sorcerors to try and retrieve the elixir so that he can infect the world, spurring the plot of this film. One of those sorcerors is Nicodemus West who we have already used in the previous Doctor Strange film, so replace him with another sorceror.
Stephen swears by his oath and saves Wong's life at the end, and him and Christine finally get together, completing their two movie arc (Christine will play a much larger role in the plot of this film too so her relationship with Stephen should tie into the main plot instead of being just a side plot thread).
The Brotherhood of Mutants 2
Continue the feud between Magneto and Doom, plants seeds of doubt in Sabretooth to the brotherhood, get Colossus more involved in finding out the Brotherhood's true nature, make Toad a proper player in the game and expand Mystique's and Rogue's characters. I don't have a proper plot in mind but these are the general goals of this film.
This is my next genre experimentation as I want Wes Anderson to direct this. Combining his distinct visual style with old Eastern Europa will create some stunning imagery, I can already see it. He can tone down the action for a more thriller-like plot if he wants to, it's all really up to him how he completes those goals.
By the end of the film, Sabretooth leaves the brotherhood, and is approached by Xavier.
Inhumans
Create a character thriller drama, to the point of it being almost theatrical, as I want this to be a mix of styles. Think of something like Matthew Warchus' Matilda: The Musical mixed with Ari Aster's Hereditary.
Black Bolt needs to be established as a top player in this universe. While the Illuminati isn't a thing yet, there should be no mistake about the fact that not only is he the king of Attilan, but the king of all Inhumans, who are revealed to the world by the end of this film. I don't have a particular plot in mind, but something within the Inhumans would be ideal as I don't want any external threats, rather making this film a self-contained story with its own characters all within its own species. I would include Medusa, Maximus, Lockjaw, Karnak, Crystal, Triton, Quake, Ms Marvel, Gorgon and Tonaja (the latter of which I think could be reworked as the primary antagonist and eventually killed).
Captain Marvel
Get a proper Captain Marvel origin story, going from her human origins all the way to her getting her powers, no real mystery but just a straight shot. Our antagonists are Mandroid and Yon-Rogg, who while they only offer a physical threat at first, must create an emotional dilemma for Carol Danvers. This is why once again we have to get a director who will focus more on characters driving the story to get some actual stakes. Mar-Vell features too, fighting alongside Carol in the final act. We have tiny roles from Nick Fury and Bruce Banner, with Bruce being accidentally ejected into space god knows where.
Iron Man: The Five Nightmares
Adapting the Five Nightmares storyline, with a legacy villain too.
Our main antagonists are Ezekiel Stane as Titanium Man and Justin Hammer's daughter, Sarah Hammer. We have MODOK and The Tinkerer too, but MODOK doesn't die, rather escaping Tony's grasp and the Tinkerer is arrested.
Tony ends his relationship with Bethany in this film because he fully accepts that he's falling for Pepper but the movie's midpoint is where Pepper turns Tony down alongside Stane and Hammer having destroyed his current armour, saying she doesn't want to make things weird and doesn't have interest in him like that. It destroys Tony until Rhodey appears for the first time in the film and gets him back on his feet, which is when Tony reveals the War Machine armour alongside a prototype for Tony's own next armour, setting up our final protagonist pairing for the rest of the film.
X-Force
This is essentially everyone trying to be in an X-Force film while Deadpool keeps trying to turn it into Deadpool 4.
Our roster is Wolverine, Deadpool, a returning Cable, Sunspot, Cannonball, Domino, Multiple Man, Warpath and Polaris, fighting against the Worthington Industries in Archangel and the Brotherhood, namely Magneto, Magik and Colossus.
Magik and Colossus change sides by the end, being freed of Magneto's indoctrination.
Wolverine sees the err in his previous actions during Age of Ultron, trying his best to stop Archangel by making him change his ways rather than killing him. However, nothing seems to work and Deadpool decapitates him, pissing Logan off. The two bicker and eventually come to blows, turning our final act into Deadpool 4 proper as its just Wolverine and Deadpool fucking the shit out of each other. The fight has no real stakes and is basically the punchline to the setup that has been present throughout the movie, but the fight before is the one with real emotional stakes.
The movie ends with Logan and Wade simultaneously decapitating each other, and then their disembodied heads roll next to each other and have a casual one-take conversation for a few minutes in which Wade declares X-Force disbanded.
Black Panther: War of the Worlds
Possessing the same sub-title as the second Namor film, this is a continuation of that story, and deals with T'Challa's death.
Basically the main plot of it is that Wakanda and Atlantis' shaky truce gets worse as time goes on, and Namor, tempted by Storm and T'Challa's absence, decides to break the truce to declare war once again: obviously this is a war crime but if Atlantis is revealed to the world then Wakanda will be too so they can do nothing but fight back.
Shuri is our protagonist and her main arc is the arc of responsibility, realising that even if she may not be ready for the throne, she must take over to defend her country as if she doesn't, Wakanda will be helpless. I will give this movie license to kill a couple of side characters such as Namora and Monica Lynne to raise stakes but it really doesn't need to happen, I just prefer if the rosters of films aren't too bloated.
The film ends with Wakanda successfully defending itself, and Shuri deciding not to go on the offensive and spare Namor's life so he can go back to his kingdom: unlike T'Challa who went on the offensive after losing his mother. All hail the queen.
Spider-Man: The First Hunt
This is an adaptation of Spider-Man: Blue, but replacing Gwen Stacy with Mary Jane Watson. Gwen does play a short role in a flashback to flesh out Peter's story. I want to play a little fast and loose with the continuity, essentially continuing Peter's story from where No Way Home left him off but never really acknowledging if its canon or not, as May is alive, Flash Thompson is a blue eye-blonde hair white guy again (not that I have a problem with Tony Revolori, he was so funny but I don't think he would be the right choice for Anti-Venom). We have Harry Osborn as the new best friend, although he as well as every other character in the film, is unaware of Spider-Man's identity. Norman is here too, set up as a big villain before he is twist-killed by the Goblin serum as he was incompatible with the formula. We also have Dr Kurt Connors in a minor role, he does nothing outside of showing up in a lab a couple times and that's it.
Our main villain is Kraven the Hunter, who hunts Spider-Man down and comes narrowly close to figuring out Spider-Man's identity using his superior tracking abilities. However, he is off by just one apartment, knocking down the apartment next to Peter's, starting our final sequence which is almost a horror sequence as Peter tries to get out of the building while Kraven is there knowing he can't handle him in tight spaces, before the actual final fight begins in which Peter eventually wins but after some great struggles.
Post-credits: Kraven is in prison when he is drugged and wakes up in a mysterious location, untied. He looks around to see Whiplash, Mysterio, and... Mastermind. Mastermind brought them all out with a purpose: to take down their enemies together, as they can do more together than they can alone.
After the other three are out of sight, Mastermind's body changes, revealing his form was actually an illusion. He is crippled, wheelchair-bound. The damage Emma Frost and Xavier did to him was real, but not fatal.
Marvel Presents: The Phoenix Force - Part One
The film opens with Jean and Scott by themselves at home, with a reveal that they now have a child named Rachel Summers. The opening set piece is Scott and Rachel running away after Jean's possession at the hands of the Phoenix becomes apparent and she nearly kills the two of them. This first film in the Phoenix Force is essentially the Dark Phoenix Saga, Jean Grey being overwhelmed and taken under the control of the Phoenix Force. She essentially becomes another Ultron-like threat, fighting everyone all by herself at one point.
This part has essentially every mutant that has appeared in the series who isn't dead alongside the debut of the Illuminati in the form of Iron Man, Namor, Professor X, Captain America, Doctor Strange, Mister Fantastic and Black Bolt. We see Sabretooth and Wolverine in the same place finally too, brothers re-uniting after decades.
The Phoenix is a lone force, forcing people like Magneto, Xavier and Captain America to all work together to stop it, putting aside their differences temporarily. However, even that is not enough to win without losses, as Nightcrawler, Thunderbird, Sabretooth, Lifeguard and Mystique all die by the midpoint of the film. Domino dies too, saying that she's lucky she doesn't have to live through this, really setting the darkness that may lie in the future. I want to create narrative reasons for their deaths but that would require a lot of intricate set-up and payoff, essentially having to write a scene-to-scene script which I don't want to right now. Sabretooth's dead crushes Logan, and he is motivated to kill Jean but him and Scott fight over it, Scott wanting to save Jean from the Phoenix than just kill her.
However, all this time, it's clear that the Phoenix is not limited to Jean as a vessel, as there are hints of yellow present in certain characters. The final battle is another one-versus-all, with the Phoenix fighting the physical threats in one realm while Xavier and Wanda fight her together in a telepathic dimension, neither able to control her mind and only facing resistance from the Phoenix, believing it to be the Phoenix using Jean's telepathy. At one point, Logan manages to get close enough to kill Jean but just as it seems like he's going to cut off her head he is lasered away by Cyclops, which gives the Phoenix enough time to re-direct a Havok blast towards Iceman, killing Bobby and sucking away Havok's power. Scott sees his best friend and brother both destroyed, and is distraught. We see some of the yellow fade from Jean's body as it seems like the Phoenix may be losing the fight against Jean, but when the camera goes back to Scott it's clear the Phoenix actually is changing its host, and Scott, clearly affected by the Phoenix, directs a gold-accented laser at Jean's neck, killing her and releasing the Phoenix Force into the world, where it concentrates into a golden flash before latching itself onto the five closest vessels it can find: Cyclops, Namor, Magik, Blink and Spider-Woman. The Phoenix Five.
Xavier tries to stop the Phoenix once again, asking Scott to let go of the power as it would corrupt him. Scott does not respond, leading to Xavier trying to open his mind, only to find that it wasn't Jean's telepathy stopping him from taking control of Jean, but rather the Phoenix Force itself, as he is only met by a laser from Cyclops to his head. After they had seemed to have finally put their differences aside after years to stop Jean, Scott kills Xavier.
Moon Knight
Get Christopher Nolan in a room, get him to read Moon Knight's All New All Different series, let him work his magic.
For the unfamiliar, Moon Knight's ANAD run is focused on mental illness and illusion more than the superhero aspect of Moon Knight. I think Nolan is possibly the best mindfuck director in the history of cinema, so he could work wonders with this concept. Complete creative freedom given to him, I don't want to taint his filmography.
Inhumans vs. X-Men
Showing more of Magneto's capability to turn people with his words, he is now the head of the Worthington company alongside Mister Sinister, and the two take a lot of known mutants, primarily from the brotherhood, and put them together into their own 'X-Men', a name which isn't owned by anyone since pretty much everyone is scrambling for power and don't really know what they're doing in the wake of the Phoenix Five. Cyclops and Blink are recruited too, but keep their involvement secret from the other three in the Phoenix Five.
This X-Men team is tasked by Magneto with taking down the Inhumans who he sees as mutantkind's biggest threat, this acting as our arc ender for the Inhumans as they don't play a big role in the Phoenix Force storyline.
Inhumans: Black Bolt, Medusa, Maximus, Karnak, Lockjaw, Crystal, Quake (dies), Triton, Dazzler
'X-Men': Magneto, Phoenix Cyclops, Phoenix Blink, Beast, Toad, Rogue, Quicksilver (switches sides)
Attilan does lose Quake but manage to fend off the Brotherhood by defeating Phoenix Blink and proving they can't be defeated just yet.
Marvel Presents: The Phoenix Force - Part Two
The Phoenix Five essentially hold the world hostage, their great power causing fear amongst everyone. This is where we finally get Krakoa as a haven for mutants, ruled over by the Phoenix Five.
After the events of the Inhumans vs. X-Men, Black Bolt talks to the rest of the now expanded Illuminati: Iron Man, Captain America, Doctor Strange, Beast, Mister Fantastic and Black Panther, and they agree that the next infringement from a Phoenix Five member must result in response. Sure enough, Phoenix Namor, separated from Atlantis after his Phoenix powering, tries to regain his kingdom, and this is the last straw.
Cyclops and Iron Man talk, and Cyclops gets angry before the two fight and eventually Tony is forced to flee, knowing Cyclops will win. The Phoenix Five decide to go on the offensive against the Avengers, and that's the rest of our plot: Avengers vs X-Men. Of course this is different, as the 'X-Men' is really just the Phoenix Five while the Avengers include non-Phoenix Five mutants.
The Phoenix Five arrive at the Future Foundation building and decimate it, with Ben and Johnny sacrificing themselves so that Reed and Sue can get away. By then, Captain Marvel arrives, sensing a great cosmic force and holds the Phoenix Five in place for some time before the rest of the Avengers and mutants come, starting our final big battle.
Cyclops is fixated on loss after losing Jean, and focuses on the closer pairs, and the Phoenix Five eventually succeeding in killing Captain Britain (brother of Psylocke), Scarlet Witch (sister of Quicksilver) and Colossus (sister of Magik).
Magik does not realise that Colossus was a target too, and when she sees him die something clicks in her as he cries out to her for help. A seed of doubt. Cable goes to defend Colossus although he knows he is too late, and is attacked by Magik, although Cable is just able to block it, before he is killed by Spider-Woman from behind, who looks at Magik with suspicion - it was clear she was holding back. Storm and Shadowcat are trapped around three members of the Phoenix Five while the others try crowd control, and the two try their best but are outmatched, and they die too.
However, the heroes finally strike first blood when Iron Man uses one of Blink's portals against her and fires a Unibeam through it, hurting and distracting her before Black Bolt finally speaks for the first time, destroying her body. Magik manages to break free of the Phoenix spell after an internal struggle, but the Phoenix Force realises this and immediately kills her from the inside, but not before Magik manages to suck the power from Namor and Spider-Woman into herself. The explosion of power fractures the force into nothingness, leaving just the last piece of it inhabited within Cyclops.
Phoenix Cyclops fights harder than ever but is eventually halted by Rachel, his daughter. He hesitates but continues to fight nonetheless, although it is once again clear that Scott may have one hand on the wheel as he always seems to miss Rachel. Eventually Black Panther manages to get a vibranium cover over Scott's eyes which he takes a minute to get off, time in which the Phoenix Force works on pure instinct in fighting everyone off. Scott finally gets it off and tries to fight again but stops in place and clutches his heart. The camera moves into Scott's body to reveal the Wasp blocking an artery, and she expands out of Scott, killing him and releasing the last of the Phoenix Force which Doctor Strange contains within a mirror cage before its destroyed by a combination of a lot of people's powers.
Post-Credits: Reed and Sue re-form the Future Foundation, not as a building but as a team, with Wolverine and the Wasp joining.
That brings us to the end of The Phoenix Arc, the first of three arcs of this universe. The Phoenix came and was destroyed. The mutants peaked but lost their leaders, the Avengers and Illuminati were formed, the Inhumans were revealed to the heroes, and the Fantastic Four came together and were destroyed.

This my first time posting so if screw up my grammar and spacing I apologize. Okay to start context I had decided to join a ongoing campaign that my brother was the dm for and was playing a wood elf moon Druid who I will refer to as me. Another character was playing a grim reaper character that had many hombrew abilities that were annoying for my brother to deal with. For reference there’s a good amount of hombrew in the campaign. Anyway I started at the same level as the rest of the party(the grim reaper character and my brother are the ones that caused problems for me) immediately first combat encounter on a boat going into a new area in which my brother sicks a a kraken and another high level monster on the party. Before combat begins I get dragged under due to poor rolls by the time I got back onto the ship I had 6 health left out of my max 66 health. Grim knows my brother is gunning for himself so he and another character decided to make a final stand and make certain I could escape once the two go down the season would end. On a side note if grim truly wanted to his character could’ve survived that but he wanted to play a new character and knew my brother would continue to try to get rid of his character. Little did I know it was a taste of of what was in store. The next character that he’s still playing is a homunculus who started out normal enough but due to some shenanigans in a mini Easter adventure the party ended up scattered around a Scandinavian themed region comprised of a crap ton of tiny villages and kingdom at the center.
This season we were warned not to mess around because my brother was feeling evil and wouldn’t hesitate to off a character. Grim now playing his homunculus character enters one of the small villages and a group of guards recognizes what he is tell him to leave to which he proceeds to attack the guards. Turns out without another character present he temporarily becomes a murder hobo. After eventually being forced to flee he finds out that he was facing royal guards that were designed to be overpowered. I enter the same village a hour or two after he left and ask what happened to the village when noticing the damage. I hear about his rampage and am asked if I knew him to which I responded with “I am aquatinted with with him” in my mind meaning that I know of him and but I’m not necessarily associated with him. Apparently in my my brother’s mind that meant that I admitted to working with him and he proceeds to have the guards nearly kill my character and then capture her.
The prison break After learning that if I am found to be associated with a homunculus it’s the death penalty for my character I put a plan that I had been given by a fellow ttrpg player not in the campaign. The plan was simple make a exit of some kind and create a cavity under the cell to hide myself inside and wait for the guards to exhaust themselves looking for me everywhere EXCEPT the cell. Everything went according to plan I shattered the bars by encasing them in ice and used mold earth to create the cavity but in order to do both I had to roll performance checks the first didn’t matter much as long as I succeeded the second would determine how obvious it was that I was doing what I was doing. Where the plan went wrong was when a guard had noticed that I was no longer in my cell and calls over four more guards who ALL DO INVESTIGATION CECKS on my cell. I end up my hiding spot was found so I used mold earth to tunnel my way out of there. Later I called him out on it and he told me for some reason he had the same royal guards from earlier guarding my cell as the reason for the five investigation checks and when I pointed out that my character nearly died because they said that they knew of the homunculus he responded with but your character survived right? So what do you want me to do? Was I a asshole?
I fell the need to clarify about the homunculus player’s incident he intended to do as much damage as possible and as a side note abuses polymorph.

2023.06.04 12:46 deliriations The forest where the deer cry blood.
I had been a hunter for most of my life leading up to this incident. The smell of the warm air and the beauty of nature always had me at ease. I never felt scared alone at night because I have seen everything there is to be scared of. I have seen bears the size of a small car and animals so vicious they would kill anything that moved.
The one thing I was never scared of was deer. I had heard the tales of the Skinwalker, The Wendigo and pretty much anything in-between. My uncle was an expert in tracking and hunting, We always went on trips together and would always come back with a fresh kill. He had something about him, It was a rule. I remember it so vividly because it was weird. He never wanted to go hunting in winter. I never asked why. I don't know but something about it always had me on edge.
One day it was winter and I was about to go deer hunting when my uncle stopped at my front door. When he came in he saw my packed supplies and my rifle and knew I was about to go hunting. He immediately burst into a wrath of anger as he dragged me to a wall and got into my face. "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING?" His spit went all over my face as he looked crazy, He looked primal as if he was fearful of something that he did not want to share, It's the same face you would expect a child to make if they were dumped in the middle of nowhere, The same face of fear you see in people who have PTSD.
I calmly brushed him off and got to the door saying I was going hunting. I was not about to fight with my uncle and ruin this trip as I hadn't gone hunting for close to a month. When you hunt you get adjusted to it and when you go on breaks you actually miss it.
As I got into my truck my uncle peered at me out the window. He was there to take care of my house but before I reversed he left with the door open. My uncle is prone to outbursts. As I should mention, He's only ever done it a few times and it's always in a situation where the reaction suits it. Not this one however. What was so bad about hunting in the winter?
The spot I had planned was an isolated one. It was a very heavily forested area which I had not been to before. I obviously had mapped the area out and brought essential survival tools in case the worst came. But I never thought I would have to use it after all those years out in the forest.
When I arrived the crisp cold air immediately saturated me in discomfort, I quickly got another layer of clothes on before I started to walk to where I would set up camp for the night. The clearing I had chosen was a pretty tight one, There was a big tree in the center that stood tall above the rest. It was called the forest star which suited it. Around the clearing the forest was extremely dense, Almost no sun shone through the top. There was a small hunting tower north of the entrance of the clearing so it was a direct walk from camp.
As I walked ahead I noticed something. There were small droplets of blood littering the ground. My first thought was that it must have been an injured animal or something like that but the droplets were small and almost even. I shook the thought out of my head and made it to my setup and I started to pin my tent. When I was done I checked my watch. It was around 5:30 pm. I had around 2 hours for hunting before it was pitch black and so I made it to the tower.
When I undid my rifle from its case I heard scampering. Shaking it off I took position and waited. As I stood there time almost slowed down, I was in a precise focus and was ready for anything. I wasn't ready for what I saw. Out came 2 small bucks that seemed injured, There were small droplets of blood coming from their eyes. As I focused in I saw that it wasn't dried blood, It was fresh and it was oozing from their eyes.
I was shocked, I had never seen anything like it. Multiple scenarios ran through my head. I was thinking "Had a hunter shot both of them in the eyes and managed to not kill them" But each scenario seemed more unlikely then the last.
I took aim at the closest one and shot it. It stood there for a second just not moving. Then they trotted off as if nothing had happened. Blood was running from the wound so I had obviously hit it, But it didn't seem scared nor phased. I decided that was enough and sort of jogged to my site. I was freaked out and decided that I'd cook dinner and go to bed early.
When I scampered around my pack I pulled out a tin of beans. I grabbed a pot and started a fire and began cooking them. As I cracked open a beer the familiar sound of a branch snapping sounded off next to me. I thought it was probably just a small deer and I brushed it off as I sat and relaxed. I was thinking about the deer and I started to chalk it up to the fact I must not have hit deep and the deer were shocked.
When I finished eating I went to bed. I was shivering in the night cold and I could feel my body shaking uncontrollably. As I dozed off after a brutal 2 hours of cold I heard another snap. This time however, It was a-lot louder. Like a bear. I immediately grabbed my rifle and went out of my tent. My fire burned low and in the distance I saw 2 red lights. I walked towards it when my mind started to race. Something felt wrong.
As I closed the distance my gut was literally twisted, My mind was anxious and I felt like I was about to break down. Then I realized what was wrong. Those weren't lights. They were 2 big beady solid red eyes. There were no pupils, They were just orbs hovering.
When I realized I stood frozen, I thought it was a big cat but what emerged was so much worse. Its fur was black, Darker than the night around us, Its antlers grew twisted and uneven. But the worst part? It was crying blood. Deep red droplets were pelting down its unnatural eyes. I couldn't make a sound, I was frozen in fear.
Then it started to make sounds, The sounds of a baby crying. It was horrible. The sounds of unnatural wails filled the cold air making it worse. My body felt crumpled and so I finally broke out into a sprint. When I looked back it stood there. It wasn't even breathing. But the sounds of that baby crying weren't fading. It was like a speaker was attached to my ear.
When I made it back to camp I rushed to pack my stuff. In a hurry I ran leaving the tent behind and I rushed to my truck. As I fumbled with the keys I saw that something was walking slowly towards me. That's when the whispering started. Terrible faint voices echoed throughout the forest as my mind started to close. I felt my cerebral melting as anything I tried to do would not happen, It was like sleep paralysis.
As I stood there I found the strength to finally open the door and get in my car. I slammed the door shut and that thing was right at the window. I started to sob as I jammed the keys in the ignition. My mind felt fried as I swerved out of there. I didn't care if I hit anything, I just wanted to be away from that thing.
Before I could properly back out it stood up on its legs and it repeated a voice I recognised “You… You do not escape thee.. The forests are.. Mine..” It was my grandpa's voice. He died when I was 6 and I never knew any of the details.
The thing then made a howl, a terrible shrieking howl that hurt my entire body. As it did so I heard scampering as more of those things came out. They had blood running from their eyes as well. The baby cries started again and thats when i finally drove out of that fucking place.
When I raced home I immediately barged into the door. My shoulder ached but I didn't care. I shoved my door and locked it and ran into my kitchen. That's when I saw my uncle sitting at the table enjoying a small glass of scotch.
"So.. You saw what I did , didn't you Anthony?"
"I..I" I couldn't form words. I was so shocked. My uncle came up to me and said "What you saw out there is my rule I abide by. There are things in those forests in winter that are so horrible even the most seasoned can't handle it. I saw it when I was a boy and since then I don't hunt during winter."
I finally mustered a sentence "W-What was it." He took a small sip before sitting me down "You saw something called Urburak, It is an ancient being that dwells in the forests during these winters. Hunters who see it usually never are the same again but some never come home. I was lucky."
My uncle sort of sniffled as he told me about his encounter with Urburak.
"When I was 14 my father and I went out into the woods on a very cold winter to hunt. Our family was struggling so we didn't have much food. When we were hunting my father called out to me but before I could even get to him I heard him yell out before he fell silent. I never saw him again. But what stood there was worse than the loss of my own. A deer with red eyes, Black fur and twisted antlers stood there. Blood was running from its eyes. Then it started to cry like a baby."
My uncle broke down and had to take a second before continuing. I comforted him as I was teary eyed.
"It.. It ran after me Anthony. On 2 legs. It was like a human and I rushed to get away from it. I managed to get myself." He rolled up his sleeve to reveal a terrible red scar that ran across the entire underside of his arm. "It was trying to feast on me, It knew I feared it. But eventually I managed to lose it."
He finally finished his scotch before continuing.
"I was stuck in those forests for 3 days fighting to survive. I heard its cries and whispers all around as I tried to make it out, I finally arrived at a road and was taken in by the police. No trace was found of my father except for one thing. They found blood at the scene and tested it. It was my fathers. What was strange about it? It was mixed with his tears."
My uncle finally stood up. "Fear it for it knows who you are." Those were his last words. He left my house and the police found him wrapped up in a noose 2 days later. It broke me. My hunting buddy and best friend was gone.
There was 1 detail about his suicide that was never resolved. He had droplets of blood coming from his eyes. The coroner's inspection said it was an aneurysm. But I'm not so sure that is the truth. I am 50 now and I haven't been hunting in 2 decades, I can’t even go into the forests anymore. I'm thinking about going back and seeing what Urburak is. Maybe I can kill him..
Beware Urburak, For he lurks in the cold.

2023.06.04 12:22 ForbiddenStoriess AITA for getting upset when my sister told me she was getting a puppy?
DISCLAIMERS: This story does not belong to me nor any member of this account. However, it has been sent in through various social media accounts and the user has asked to stay anonymous. Please be respectful.
I (18F) am the second youngest child of four (28F), (24M) and (10F). There’s always been this none-spoken competition between me and my eldest sister. If I mention how I’ve always wanted something, she will go and buy it for herself knowing I can’t afford it and neither can she. A few examples is a jeep which her baby daddy pays off for her, a white 2021 Ute with led strapping and a Honda civic in matte black. She barely pays anything whereas her baby daddy and our mother pay mostly all of it. Today when I got back from work, she told me she was getting a puppy and I tried to be excited until she told me it was the one I was looking at getting a few days ago. She said he’d be perfect for her kids who are absolute brats…well all but one of them are anyway. Her two daughters have tantrums where they literally rip wallpaper and pull at their stuffed animals fur. I feel selfish for being like this and realising I should be happy, but knowing how the kids act and how I was looking towards trying to afford the pup, I’m just extremely disappointed she had to do that to me. Am I the asshole?

2023.06.04 12:20 triceratopping If you used to like the old intro decks, you may like PRECON DECON!
Hello!
Last year, I began a video project to review every single M:tG preconstructed deck from a main expansion set from Tempest to Eldritch Moon.
Why? Because a) I miss the old 60-card intro decks when a new set is released, b) a lot of players got into the game thanks to a humble theme/intro deck, and I felt like they deserved more respect! And c) I was kinda bored and thought why not, seems like a niche to talk about janky 90s/00s/10s M:tG decks.
HERE is the playlist for Season 1, aka the "Classic Frame" era of Tempest to Scourge
HERE is the playlist for Season 2, aka the "Pre-Intro Deck" era of 8th Edition to Eventide
HERE is the playlist for Season 3, aka the "Tiny Intro Deck" era of Shards of Alara to New Phyrexia
HERE is the start of Season 4, aka "The Golden Age" era of M12 to Journey into Nyx
Am I a M:tG expert or historian in any way? No! I'm just a crusty old casual player who really liked these old precon decks and wanted to make videos where I put on rose-tinted glasses and ramble unscripted for 15-20 minutes a pop.
If that appeals to you (you sicko), then I hope you find some time to take a look at my content. There's a new video every day, and I fully intend to commit to go all the way up to Eldritch Moon, and probably beyond that into Planeswalker decks and Duel decks.

2023.06.04 12:19 rangernumberx Respect Luigi (Super Mario Bros.)
"Here we go...(gulps)" Green 'Stache. King of Second Bananas. The original pallet swap. Plain old player two. No matter what, Luigi never seems to be able to catch a break, always living in his brother's shadow. But in reality, he's got many advantages over Mario, such as his jump height and being taller. But while he may be a coward, when it comes down to saving those he cares about, Luigi will find the strength inside him to stand up against his foes, be they Bowser's forces or King Boo's spectral legions.
This thread takes the Super Mario Bros. 'canon' as every Super Mario platformer and all closely linked games (the Luigi's Mansion games, Yoshi titles except for Wooly World, and Super Princess Peach). The sole exception is Super Mario Bros. 2, which is confirmed in the credits to be a dream. Hover over each feat for the game they come from. Any feats featuring a different character comes from a game where they are capable of demonstrating the exact same feat.

2023.06.04 12:18 Magical_Savior Annihilator ANH-5WW - WoB Madness
| Good morning! New subreddit, new content. I love making mechs that are "missing links," like the Royal Banshee that never was, as a transitional piece between the 3M and 3S. With record sheet. Or asking "what if," like what if the Inner Sphere finally succeeded in making the Stealth Grasshopper that never was (despite the Great Houses trying for over 400 years). So, I love the WoB - every setting needs a great villain. As a secret cabal that tries to control information and stop society from advancing, the WoB is fantastic at it. Not every Blakist believed in the Jihad, but enough did that they tried to fight a war and they lost. Not that that reminds me of anything. So I was disappointed when I looked at the ANH-5W - I expected to see some weird Wobbie madness, like the MAD-5W. But it's just a min-maxed Gauszilla from ascended fanon faction Wolf's Dragoons. We already have Gauszilla at home, the C2. So I decided to make my own ANH-5W. With Blackjack and hookers! Wait, that's the Magistracy, isn't it. Naming it the 5WB seems like loser talk, so it's the 5WW. Double the W madness! FTW, the new battlecry. A big part of a Wobbie mech, to me, is JMP>WMP. Not every mech they have does it, but they brought back LAMs, so flight is an aspiration. The C2 and 5W were a bit thin on armor - fixed. The base 5W paid for the CASEII, so I'm going to use the whole CASEII - explosive ammo, explosive lasers - that's what we need. Those cPulse lasers were overrated anyway. And it wouldn't be WoB without C3i, so it goes in the big metal death penguin. Wow! And I managed to retain most of the structural components of the 5W, including that Compact Gyro. And the BV is about the same! Until you network it, anyway. C&C welcome. The ANH-5WW that should have been. submitted by Magical_Savior to OfficialBattleTech [link] [comments] |
2023.06.04 12:15 Beautiful-Counter-72 why are there like no diff types of weather?
Seriously like I'm so bored of war thunder right now because every game is just, the same map, with the same weather etc.
Like at least add more cloud options. Can you imagine playing on like overcast days? It would add yet another layer of strategy to dog fights, boom and zoom etc. Just the most basic thin cloud cover and you could have shit like
this actually happening in game, or if I'm getting my ass handed to me in a dogfight instead of just diving and tryna out speed them I could fly into a giant cloud, losing them in that instead.
And that's just for clouds, imagine like rain or thunderstorms? Idk how it works irl but weather could play a role in how missiles work, or something idk lol. And the same goes for time! I know flying with the sun in your eyes is annoying but Jesus can they at least make night/dusk games more common? The game looks fucking beautiful then!
This game just needs variety, outside "look you're in a desert now, omg look now it's over gm_flatgrass!". Out of my 400+ hours on this game, I've had
1 that from memory had clouds that played a role in the game, at it was absolutely amazing.
But no, every map has to be a fucking windows XP wallpaper.

2023.06.04 12:13 Thick_Mick_Chick M.O.N.S.T.E.R Nursery
Let me be the first to welcome you to the MotheOffspring, Nurturing/Support, Teaching/Education Resource Network, or? M.O.N.S.T.E.R. Nursery. My name is Sassy, short for Sasquatch. Yes, THAT sasquatch. Are there other kinds?! I'm a HCC (Healthcare Cryptid) here at the nursery. I also teach humans the survival basics of coming across a baby monster in the woods.
Anyhoo, you're probably wondering why Sasquatch are utilized as Labor and Delivery nurses. It's simple, really. We're natural born mothers. You see, we just love babies! We always have! All of that nonsense about whooping, tree knocking and vocalizations that we do in the woods when you guys are camping? Don't get scared! That's just us shouting out to our boys letting them know we have humans in the woods! Humans could possibly have a BABY with them. Now, I don't like to judge based on looks, but those bald human babies are so ugly? They're cute! Poor little things look like they have mange, though. Who would think a bald puppy is cute? Ew.
I digress. So, when it came to the M.O.N.S.T.E.R. Nursery? We were the natural choice. Even though I happen to be female? History tells us that male nursery nurses happen to have the best bonding with our little devils. Well, little devils and whoever else was born that day. Just look at Chewy over there bonding with that litter of werewolf pups born on the last full moon. He's so maternal? He's practically a breast.
Now, all babies are not created equal. Have you ever wondered which monster's baby is the loudest? I can promise you that you'd rather listen to that werewolf pup litter any day over being 5 minutes late with Baby Siren Head's bottle. I had a headache for a week. When Vlad and Countess Bathory had their little undead bundle of joy last month? You'd be surprised how quick a Bigfoot can prick and milk their finger to get a fresh bottle of nutritious blood for that adorable, pale little parasite. He definitely had a healthy appetite, especially if you were B positive. Vlad and Countess Bathory couldn't have been happier. Patient satisfaction has always been a priority for HCCs (Healthcare Cryptid) since day one! We've never gotten below a 5 on the Jack Link's scale of 0 - 5 jerkies. We are collectively very proud of this fact! It's such an accomplishment for Bigfoot and all of Sasquatch kind.
Okay, I could understand why you think we're a little full of ourselves. I, mean, when Sasquatch are the chosen ones to be the top requested HCC? It's a far fall to the 2nd position. Look, we can't all be God's Chosen Ones. Yes, he exists. Yes, he created us. You're getting distracted, again. We aren't all going to argue semantics on what is Creationism and what is Darwinism and all of that. I'm too busy trying to teach incompetent, um cough cough, INTERESTED humans how to provide the most basic care for any creature's neonates (medical term for newborn) that they might stumble across while enjoying hiking, camping, fishing, etc. The priority? The newborn. Additional concerns?
1) MotheFather finding humans around newborn and attacking them.
2) Humans treating the scenario like an episode of "Jack Ass" and thinking it's a good idea to "mess with" the newborn and? Again? Mom/Dad attacks them.
3) Basically? A human breathing will set Mom/Dad off. Most creatures just don't want humans around. They can't be trusted. Sorry, Guys. It's been that way every since you refused to credit Chewy in the '67 Patterson–Gimlin film.
So? Your first reaction, if you see a baby creature? Look for it's parents. If you see them? Run. Run fast. Like, put Forrest Gump to shame kinda runnin'. Those parents don't want you there for any reason at all. Pick 'em up and put 'em down the whole way back down the trail.
If you don't see the parents? Proceed slowly and with caution. Now, don't let everything I've said scare you into not helping a baby monster. They're babies, after all. Please, check on them. Just be aware of your surroundings so as not to frighten the wood creatures which will, in turn, attack you. Then? It's just a bad day for everyone involved.
So? Depending on the woodland creature? You'll want to know what action you need to take to help the baby and? Hopefully? Survive assisting. The first thing you'll want to do is call out/whistle, whatever you have to do to try to get someone's attention. Look around and listen. What do you see and hear? If it's nothing? Again, proceed with caution. If you hear howling, growling, tree knocking, whooping, any of these things? Leave, either their parents are still around or we're there and will then takeover. I know. It's confusing to try to tell when we're tree knocking hoping you have a baby with you or if we know there's a baby around and we don't want you around the baby. Really, if at all possible, just don't mess with the babies if you don't have to. With that having been said? Let's proceed!
As you cautiously approach? Keep making noise letting everyone know you're there. We don't want to scare the life, or afterlife, out of these little ones. They're at their most vulnerable right now. Let's use Chewy's patients today as an example. You traipse along and stumble over a werewolf den. Well, that's not something you see every day. You hear soft whimpering. About 4 or 5 little werewolf pup heads pop up out of the den. How's everyone looking? Is anyone hurt? No? Then check your supplies. It just so happens you were successful fishing earlier. Werewolf pups love fish almost as much as moonbathing and cutting their baby teeth on a human femur. They'll be thankful, the Alpha male and female will be thankful and you'll really be thankful. You get to walk away, karma and limbs intact.
Next? It would be highly likely that you'd come across a wendigo, skinwalker, rake slenderman, etc. besides just a litter of werewolf pups. Try to prepare yourself as much as possible for these encounters. The better prepared? The better off everyone will be. The best part? These creatures won't want your everlasting soul in infancy. Those challenges don't present until adolescence. So? Enjoy the respite for the moment. Now? No matter what the situation? You'll always want to approach with caution and announce your arrival. It's saved not only many a human? It's saved a lot of cryptids as well. Try to have some sort of food item on you that's rather filling. You'd prefer that over them making YOU the food item.
So, as we proceed down the trail, there's a cabin to the left and it's the last house but do not enter, please. The last good hearted Samaritan did and, well, let's just say he had a run in with a girl locked in the cellar who wasn't quite herself. That's probably about the most PC way of explaining demonic possession. Anyhoo, there was bad press for a year and visitors to the park fell off, it just was a big mess. They ended up doing some kind of cybernetic enhancement and now the good Samaritan has a chainsaw for an arm. He's done a great job keeping them all in line. Overall? That was one we got right.
Since I brought up Vlad and the Countess Bathory's bouncing little bundle of bloodsucker? It's important to know that if you are in your domicile, and R.V.'s count, vampires cannot enter without an invitation from you. So, if you are camping in your R.V. and someone comes knocking late at night? Don't answer. If they aren't a vampire? They can come back the next day. If they don't come back? You definitely made the right decision. Now, the problem is? If you encounter a vampire in the wild. Hopefully? They've already set their sights on whoever they picked that night to be their victim. If not? A dropper of Holy Water as perfume on either side of your neck is a nice deterrent. Again, if the little count is there by himself? He's clearly gotten away from the castle. He needs returned immediately. Go to the nearest tree that displays a "break in case of emergency" box. Break the glass, take the bag of beef jerky out, shake it. Every Sasquatch in a 5 mile radius will come running to you. Point the baby vampire out and we'll be glad to take it from there.
Something I should bring up to our do-gooders ready to risk it all: if you can't swim? Don't try to help aquatic creatures. It won't end well. It never does. Little fry just aren't acclimated to landlubbers. Merpups are tough for even us to handle. They get scared, you can't swim, bad things happen. So? If you're determined to help any baby monster no matter where they reside? Take swimming lessons. You'll thank me. Trust me on this.
Don't let the fae trip you up, either. They're mischievous. They'll also try to sneak a changeling in on you if you do bring your human babies to the forest. If you respect walking around fairy rings and respect mother nature? The fae shouldn't be an issue. If you don't? Well, you were warned.
So, what have we not covered? Flying creatures. Yes, they present a challenge even we Sasquatch find difficult. It's hard to assess the needs of a baby that's wrapped in the arms of a mother flying 75 feet above your head. Even though the task is daunting? It's a challenge we'll definitely take on. We just watch and wait for Mom to go on the hunt and we take a peak at that tiny little velociraptor in that nest, with it's mouth hanging wide open, just awaiting a morsel. Now, the Mothman's baby was an experience. Cocoons are just something you have to see for yourself, especially when they're 6 feet tall. It's truly fascinating!
I think that covers everything for today's lesson. Bear in mind, we're beginning the summer season here in the U.S. Encounters are going to increase between cryptids and humans so be aware and care when it comes to our babies. We're aware and care when it comes to yours. Stay safe and Sasquatch on!

2023.06.04 12:10 nagasravika_1991 40/52 The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida by Shehan Karunatilaka - Loved it!
Rating : 5/5
Mr. Shehan weaved a mesmerizing tale that is simply superb and awesome. I was half way through the book and already making plans to read it one more time!!
He gave a light hearted touch to the most gorical elements of war, death, loss and injustice. I didn't even cringe and feel obnoxious about the references of homosexual relationships the main character gets into. This story makes one reconsider and reimage their notions of what makes life worth while and wholesome. Why should we waste a life that is blessed to be had by indulging in wastefulness of war and power craving. Loved it through and through!!
He paints a scary picture of Sri Lanka which has race based and faction based wars where innocents are sacrificed for things they have no connection to. It gave a sorrowful impression that perhaps the most condemned souls become victims of such unfair countries from which escape is not easy! I would be afraid to ever become a SriLankan under-privileged citizen post reading this book. It must be hard to suffer torture and discrimination at the hands of powerful men who couldn't care less for anything other than their self serving ideals.
Coming to the story, we have a gutsy war photographer Maali Almeida killed in some mysterious circumstances and entering an afterlife. The plot unravels with investigation going into his disappearance which his spirit follows through. It is interlaced with his memories from the past .. life which he had lead till his death. He has seven moons (days) before which he can enter the Light - which marks the passage into next life.
He strives these seven moons - like a lost and dedicated soul - to find how he died, bring some of his photos to light so that a war torn, god forsaken country Sri Lanka becomes more peaceful, to help his friends in their quest for justice in his death. He soon finds and accepts the fact that there are stronger forces like karma which subterfuge his plans and that he cannot control the outcomes but can only watch what happens 'down there'.
Through very detailed involvement in many shady transactions with the government and different underdog organizations, he is brought to life. I sometimes even wondered if Maali is not a real person and if I am perhaps not reading a biographical work rather than fiction!

2023.06.04 11:54 ProAssassin84 It’s time to stop with seasonal armor perks that become completely useless when seasons are over.
For seasonal armor you can get some really awesome rolls but it rubs me the wrong way having perks for that particular season I won’t use at all especially after a season or even during a season.
Chances are that insane roll you got on Armor you’re keeping in a build yet a perk is attached to it you will never need ever again. Example Seraph Sensor Array.
How Destiny 2 doesn’t have Armor set bonuses for all Armor sets blows my mind this late in the game. Armor sets should have bonuses for wearing entire sets but useful ones you will actually use similar to Raid Armor bonus perks or Artifice Armor.
This would incentivize so much content to be played for Armor rolls and full sets with great bonuses only available to that set. Like imagine if Moon armor set gave extra 15% damage to Hive or Nessus set gave extra 15% damage to Vex for full sets. People would go nuts trying to get good rolls on those Armor drops.
Like for each equipped Armor peace for a set you get a percentage bonus of something useful to you. Right now I have absolutely zero incentive to equip entire seasonal armor just for the perks.
Right now Seasonal Armor once you get that Roll it’s Transmog material.
