2023.03.22 07:11 nahivibes Does anyone else have issues accessing videos with PBS Passport?

So I donated to my local station but when I’m logged in it still says donate to access videos. I did the lookup thing and it sent me an email saying my membership status is disabled (even though I just donated). I emailed them and no response. I called today and it went to voicemail. This happened last time I tried to activate also. They don’t seem to work like a normal streaming service where you pay and it works right away. Has anyone else had this issue or have a solution? I just want to watch this season 😩

2023.03.22 06:30 skullofregret If there are no brute facts, then everything exists necessarily

Definitions:
  1. If something is contingent, then its state is capable of being different.
  2. If something exists necessarily, then it logically cannot fail to be in the state that it is. Its nonexistence would entail a logical contradiction.
  3. If something exists brutely, it is neither necessary nor contingent.
Feel free to challenge my definitions, I've just set them out for clarity.
Argument:
Theists often propose a model in which the universe is a collection of contingent facts which must ultimately rely on a necessary being, which they call 'God'.
But a necessary fact is only capable of one act. If a necessary being could sustain alternate versions universe, then either its state is contingent on the factors causing it to prefer one version or the other, or there is a brute fact separate from the necessary beings which renders the alternate versions possible.
So if there are no brute facts, every fact is therefore revealed to be necessary - it could not have been different. You might say "skullofregret is sometimes logged into reddit and sometimes not, this is a contingent fact", but that is only superficial. If you could zoom out and see every moment which constitutes my life across every possible world, you will see that across every possible world I was logged into reddit at those times.

(obviously a simple modal collapse argument and likely some classical theists have responses primed, but let's see how it develops.)

2023.03.22 06:27 PowerfulBaby7 78K in Direct Parent Plus Loan

Wasn't born into the most financially savvy family, and trying to help a family member out with the best repayment plan once student loans are turned back on. The overall balance is just under $79K on 6 loans with an average interest rate of 6%. If any forgiveness happens, would only qualify for 10K.
The minimum payment when resumed is $1,100 a month when these family members are about 2-3 years from retirement. Married couple, one in their late 60s and the other in their late 50s, with one having a pension and one having a new 5-year part-time job in the government that doesn't qualify for PSLF (I've checked) but they make maybe $150K/yr join max.
I've tried going to student loan dot gov and calculating other repayment plans with no luck, interface sucks and doesn't seem parent plus direct loan friendly.
From my understanding, the only way to lower the payment is to consolidate, but I can't seem to find what that would look like payment-wise. The other issue is logging in online I cannot see the terms of the loans so I can't see if any loans are coming up on forgiveness (for 10 yr loan)
Lastly, if not consolidating — I'm thinking the snowball payment method would be the best plan, but do parent plus loans (not consolidated) allow you to designate higher payments to one loan versus minimum payments to the other? How is the fixed interest rate calculated?
Very much appreciate the guidance on understanding and any recommendations on this,
All loans are Direct Plus Loans. Unknown Terms (on forbearance due to covid, would have to call but lets assume 20 yrs)
Loan #1 - $3,200 @ 7.21% Loan #2 - $8,100 @ 6.84%
Loan #3 - $18,000 @ 7.6%
Loan #4 - $15,000 @ 7.08%
Loan #5 - $18,000 @ 5.3%
Loan #6 - $15,000 @ 6.28%

2023.03.22 06:13 3DBernie Drained! Installed Klipper 10 times over and over cannot get it to work with E3V2. Help!

I initially was able to communicate with my E3V2 but for some reason the hot end and bed would heat up but the print would stop.
Thought maybe I have to PID bed and hot end so I did and update my Printer.cfg file and then it just stopped communicating all together.
I have Octoprint working on a separate pi 4 for this printer fine so I know the USB cable and USB port both working on Printer.
ls /dev/serial/by-id/* command is responding back with /dev/serial/by-id/usb-1a86_USB_Serial-if00-port0 which means I am talking to the printer....I believe.
I see this in the klippy.log amongst other things.

2023.03.22 05:49 LaDev Car Break-in, surprisingly amazing outcome

This past Saturday I had been working on my soon to be new home, and after a long day of labor I got home and immediately collapsed and went to bed. I live right outside of Wilmington Delaware, in a condo complex with a C- in crime score. Not particularly bad, not too good either. A convenient location right off the highway to get to the majority of east coast cities.
Sunday morning I woke up, took a shower, and then gunned for the door to go back to work on the house. I gave my wife and daughter a kiss goodbye, grabbed my phone, keys and wallet, and leave. As I’m approaching my car in the parking area I notice my door is slightly open… not a great sign. I opened the door and noticed my glove box and center console have been completely ransacked. Paperwork I had just gotten two days prior now laid dormant on the floor of the driver and passenger seat. I had also forgotten my day bag in the back seat.
It happened, my car had been robbed. Typically I’m great about locking my car door, Saturday night though, I suppose I missed a critical step in ensuring the safety of the contents of my car.
This is an important time in my life right now, I’m in the middle of a house purchase, work is going crazy, and my second kid will be here in two months. I brushed it off, told my wife what happened, and drove to the house I’m working on. During my drive I gave the Non-Emergency line a call. The gentlemen who answered was very kind.
He collected important information and asked for my location. I let him know that I was on the road and that it would be a few hours before I returned home. He asked that I gave the non-emergency line a call back when I’m home so they could send an officer out. Ugh. Now, in my life I haven’t had the best experience with police. Nothing directly involving me, but lots of second hand interaction and stories from family, so I was naturally inclined to assume the local police wouldn’t be useful. Admittedly, I wrote the entire situation as a loss, I felt hopeless.
Over the next few hours I took mental inventory of what was missing. Originally I had only thought that change and a Bluetooth speaker were missing, some of which was in my center console and others in the bag that was in my back seat. I began to fully remember what I had lost: An Android cellphone, an Apple iPhone, Bluetooth Speaker, home purchase paperwork, $10 in cash, and a few other things.
At this point I was mostly nervous about the iPhone, as it was a backup iPhone 12 I got some time ago which had all my Apple Wallet cards on it. Once I realized I logged into Find my IPhone and activated lost mode on the iPhone. I figured the best case scenario would be to ensure my data was protected. The evening settles in, I’ve accepted defeat, and head to bed.
This morning I clock on for work, and as I’m sitting in a work meeting I get a pestering notification on my phone. Lost iPhone has been turned on. I immediately open Find My iPhone to see the device had checked in, but then immediately was turned off. I was frustrated… not only did this person steal my property, they rubbed it in by trying to further use the device they stole.
Only for a moment however I was frustrated. I further read the information on my phone screen and a smile went from ear to ear. That minute or two the phone was turned on was long enough for the iPhone to pick up an address.
I was motivated at this point. I didn’t know what would happen, but I figured hey, what the hell, let’s give the non-emergency line a ring again. I called in, gave them a recap. They collected my information and let me know I should hear back soon. At this point I half expected the officer to tell me too much time had passed for anything to be done… but boy was I totally wrong.
Officer Thomas gave me a call and let me know that he was outside of my condo. He asked for a recap of the situation, what was taken, and if I had any additional information. I shared the Find my IPhone information. Officer Thomas had another officer come along to swab for DNA and collect finger prints off of my car - I was stunlocked! He then let me know that he was filing a warrant for the address listed on my Find my iPhone. I’m not sure what I thought would happen, but given what I was always taught, and believed, I thought I would have eaten dust.
After about an hour or two Officer Thomas and the officer taking DNA and finger prints finished up with me. I made more assumptions… I’m sure nothing will come of it, this is probably the last I’ll hear of it. Officer Thomas then proceed to send me several texts over the next few hours, he wants pictures of the Bluetooth Speaker, Pictures of my Bag, Cell Phone Serial Number, and various credible bits of information.
I scour my iPhone photos going years back finding the best pictures I possibly could for the items stolen. I sent some blurry and dark photos that I had taken, and then also some screenshots from Walmart and Amazon listings for the original items.
Again, I made assumption. I assumed he was just doing his typical paper work for his reports. Mind you, hours earlier I had also filed with my insurance regarding the situation, so at the minimum I was happy to have a police report for my claim.
A few hours pass and I get a missed call from Officer Thomas… I was playing video games and had my headphones up pretty loud. He took the time to text me however and let me know that they had recovered a phone, but it was smashed, and asked if I could send over the devices IMEI.
I sent the information, this time assuming that if they did actually goto the persons house there would be no way they were silly enough to leave a stolen phone right there.
A few hours later go by again, I received a call, and a third officer lets me know that he’s outside and that he’d like me to come out. I step outside and he lets me know that he believe he has my property. Officer Thomas was working overtime to get everything settled today so this officer was stepping in to help get everything tied up so he could go home. I was shocked. Jaw on the ground floored.
The iPhone was taken for evidence. I’m guessing the thief immediately smashed the iPhone once they realized it was out in lost mode. I got everything else back besides the few dollars of cash I had in the glove box.
The entire time I made assumptions against the police. Assumed they wouldn’t help, or weren’t able to. I was wrong every step of the way. Not only did New Castle Police impress me, but Officer Thomas was a godsend.
I cannot say how immensely shocked I am even now. I’m not sure what happened with the person who stole my items and broke into my car. I’d assume it’s more then a ticket, but I’ll have to find out next time I speak with Officer Thomas.
I just wanted to share my story. It may be benign to some, but it was a truly eye opening experience for me. These guys showed me they care about their jobs and their community.

I think the problem is in MyModal Component which is in NoteState.js. I am only able to add a single character on the input element of the MyModal component after a character. It gets deselected and, to type a single character, again I have to click on the input element. Please Help me.

2023.03.22 05:31 Shoulda-Saved Help with Account Access

Hi all, have a general question. I was part of the hack that happened earlier in the year, and while I was able to get my email changed back, I have yet to be able to log in. I have tried resetting password links, to no avail, I do not receive them. Normally I would not care, since I can use a guest account. However, the issue come in with is my RE4 Collector's online order. The card I used was recently compromised, so I received an email that my payment method was declined. There's a link to update it, but I cannot login. here's what I've tried so far:Spoke with multiple GS customer support reps for 4hr + that tried sending me the reset password email (I don't receive), changing the account email and sending a password reset email (I don't receive) , creating a new account (but I can't transfer the order), tried activating my existing account, I was even told to cancel my order and see if I can get one in store (???).
Customer service cannot update my payment method over the phone which blows my mind that a company's customer cannot do that . I tried asking for a supervisor or anyone that has that access and was told that it's impossible. Most of the conversations end up telling me to forget my account and just start a new one, but how is that a solution??
Called some in store GS but was told they cannot change anything regarding Online orders.I did see some folks saying they were able to log in using the hacked email address, but I had that updated early in the morning after I got the email notification, and reps said they can't see a history of emails on the account so no luck
Tried speaking with my bank and PP, but no luck. Also tried turning on some old devices with the hopes that I was still logged in, but everything has been logged out.
Pretty much my last hail mary, but does anyone else have any ideas?

2023.03.22 05:28 random-person-enters Shadow banned for having an opinion

I was shadow band for respectfully expressing my opinion about surgeries for transgender minors
I want to make it very clear I 100% agree that everyone should be treated with respect and that everyone should be able to have whatever surgery they want dress however they want and use whatever pronoun they want and be treated with respect.
However, I stated my opinion on how I feel like a lot of adult topics get pushed on kids along with how I agree with a Georgia bill that came out, not allowing minors to get gender, affirming surgery (in my defense, so I don’t think any minor should be getting any sort of body altering surgery I also want to say that I now feel a bit of an ick about that bill because it does specifically target that community. If the issue is irreversible surgeries, then they should have just done a bill that doesn’t allow irreversible surgeries for all minors, not made a bill that specifically targets transgender minors.)
Anyways, my post ends up getting logged, and then some of my comments end up being removed I end up asking the moderator why right. And they’re like oh you’re being hateful and it’s transphobic.
To which obviously I’m like how was I hateful literally all my comments I address myself to everyone respectfully. I don’t name calls either commentor a courtesy that was not afforded to me.
Anyways, they proceeded telling me that I am a bigot And then I’m uneducated and that’s why it was locked. I essentially said that they’re censoring my opinion they said they’re not.
Censoring thoughts and opinions especially when they are presented respectfully isn’t cool. Those conversations are so important.

2023.03.22 05:05 LordLoss01 AITA for not giving a user back her PC so she can retrieve her files?

We regularly swap out older PCs for new ones. We also have a policy where users are in charge of ensuring their files are backed on One Drive. We also have it so that users Documents, Pictures and Desktop are automatically synced to OneDrive upon first login, you just have to press "Accept".
Unfortunately, most users have their important stuff in Downloads. Presumably because these are forms that they downloaded from the Internet.
We also never inform users in advance when replacing PCs. Mainly because sometimes a PC is shared between a few people (Anywhere from 2 to 100) and informing each user would be ridiculous but also because "in theory" it shouldn't interrupt workflow.
Normally, we replace the PC and offboard the PC from AD, SCCM, Azure AD, Intune and Autopilot and put it in the pile to be collected by a third party for further wiping each morning.
I replaced the PC but got called away for a personal emergency pretty much right after and so the PC sat on my desk, not offboarded when I came back after a week. The user had logged a ticket saying she had important files on there that she needs and if we could recover them.
Now, on this occasion I can do this, or rather I can even give her the PC back to log into it and do it herself. I feel however there's a few issues with this:
  1. Sets a bad precedent. Next time we replace a PC, they or their colleagues will think we can just get their files back for them.
  2. Doesn't incentivise the user to use OneDrive. They'll think IT can just "recover" whatever they need.
  3. Next time I or my colleagues encounter this scenario, the user will think its as easy a solution as this time.
I'm leaning towards not giving her the PC back but what are your thoughts?

2023.03.22 04:31 KingoftheRednecks Spears Among the Stars, ch 23

First/Prev

“Father?”
Mogan relaxed, wearing something like a small loincloth as he stretched out in something that was either a chair or a bed. After more than a week he still couldn't really tell which. He was leaning towards “bed” simply because he dozed off so often in it, but he thought that had more to do with his schedule than his age. At least, so he hoped.
“Father?”
At that, he was wearing more than most of the people here. Many walked around in clothing that seemed made mostly of strings. While it was an interesting view, he imagined it must be uncomfortable to walk in. Considering how warm it was, most of the San had picked up the local fashion quickly, although a lot of the tourists still considered them pretty conservatively dressed.
Last time he was on a beach like this it was with Hyeshi. Her clothing had been just about as minimal as his, and while he certainly didn't mind the view it had also been easier to see that she was showing with Ellisan.
Mogan had spent some time on the various types of watercraft, and even some of the small fliers, although he took it easy with those—not like Ellisan, certainly—but his schedule was too busy for most of that.
“Father!”
Mogan snapped out of his doze. “Sorry. What is it?”
“They've returned. The... ones... that were escorting the guests.” Even here, she was more careful about references to warriors or soldiers than most.
“Good. They're a day or two late, but I forgot sometimes how slow those guys travel.”
“And everything is fine. Nothing that really needs to be worried about.”
Mogan caught the hesitation around 'really,' heaved a sigh, and sat up.
“It can wait; you're wearing yourself out fixing everything here!”
“Did somebody do something stupid?”
Ellisan sighed. “Yes.”
“Is it something that will cause us trouble?”
She paused. “...Probably.”
“Then I can't just leave it.”
“Maybe, but you've got to delegate at least some of it. You didn't come home last night until almost morning. Breaking up the fight at the Seafront, dealing with the two idiots who got cheated in gambling at the Moonsrise, and then stopping that incident when some fool tried to start some bets on fighting.”
At least she didn't know about the two people he had to carry home because they were too drunk to move.
“Plus those two people you had to carry home because they were too drunk to move!”
Damn it.
“It's getting better.”
“It is.” Ellisan nodded. “They're not stupid, just not used to any of this. But you've done more than enough work. You should be out here enjoying yourself, not catching up on your sleep because you were cleaning up other people's messes all night.”
“Can't. There are two thousand people here, Ellisan, and they've all been through blood and fire the last few months. Most of them are drinking too much, but I don't know how to just cut them off. Tonight there'll be another fight at the Seafront—the owner doesn't care how many fights there are as long as he makes money selling drink. And there was almost a fight down at the walk, over the women offering... services... there. I'll need to be there part of the night. And—”
“And someone else will.”
“The chieftains are already busy.”
“Then tell someone else off,” she continued relentlessly. “Inton, that guy isn't stupid—let him handle the Seafront. And Burjit is the galaxy's premiere expert at dealing with men's stupidity; she can handle the walk just fine. Half of the time you know who the problem people will be, so find something to keep them busy instead of doing something stupid.”
Mogan sighed, defeated. “Alright. I'll delegate away all the hot spots for tonight. But for now, I have to see what this problem is.”
Ellisan shook her head, but lead him to the small gathering area under a few tents where the chieftains were relaxing. Mogan noted that they didn't look nearly as tired as he, which he found irritating. Burya nodded to him.
“I told you you didn't need to take care of every problem, Mogan. None of them tonight. For now... Have a seat. This should be interesting.”
Mogan wasn't sure he liked the way Burya said “interesting.” It sounded a bit like the way Ellisan had said “really.” But he sat, and someone handed him a drink that tasted something like fruit juice. Ellisan wasn't sent away. What her status was now, nobody knew, but she'd obviously saved enough lives to earn a spot in the circle. There was a moment of uncomfortable silence, and then Logog spoke.
“I presume everyone is familiar with my hunter Chadnov?”
“He's not the sharpest spear in the quiver,” Skalli nodded. “But he's certainly the biggest.”
Logog sighed. “That's the one. He was with the escorts. And over the next six days they traveled, everybody spent a lot of time talking. Sort of got to know each other, and...”
“And one of the soldiers is with child, isn't she?” Skalli snorted.
“We didn't know this was possible!”
Ellisan stared at Logog, raising an eyebrow. “You didn't know that humans and Sylfa could breed?” Her lower set of arms waved. “What in the Frozen Valley do you think these are: antlers?”
Logog snorted, trying not to laugh. “It wasn't a Sylfa, Ellisan.”
“There weren't many Shawing there, but they're good people in general.” Mogan nodded. “We should speak to her.”
“It... um... She, uh...” Logog was staring intently at the sand between his toes. “She's not a Shawing either.”
There was a horrified silence, that extended for two full minutes before it was broken by Ellisan's horrified giggle.
“Well....” Mogan paused. “Let's, uh, let's bring in the happy couple.”
“Her name is apparently Karshta,” Logog said, “one of the blade-walls. It seems the Sovereignty will pay them for having Meht children. They're generally considered stupid, so even though their Meht are smaller they're considered to sort of have the best of both worlds. I think we can all agree we don't want the Sovereign to find a Meht with that kind of power and our.... traits.... yes?”
Mogan chuckled. “Too bad Akin isn't here. He really wanted to do a wedding for someone. Still, if she wants to mix her strength with someone else's intelligence, she might have wanted to pick someone... different.”
“The situation is what it is, not what we'd rather it be.” Burya shrugged. Mogan swore he sounded more like an old man than any of the old men present. “But if she's up to it, a marriage would be a good way to solve the problem. She stays with us so the child doesn't end up in the Sovereignty's hands, we get her contributions, and Chadnov has a wife three times his height to keep him from getting a roving eye.”
The others voiced their agreement, and a runner was sent for the happy couple.
They were a nervous couple when they arrived, the man ahead of the Mantu. Chadnov was a huge man, easily the tallest and heaviest of the San. Mogan was of average height, and he didn't even come up to the man's shoulder. He probably weighed twice what Mogan did, for that matter, and he doubted any of it was fat. He had often amused the children—and the ladies—by lifting whatever seemed heavy: barrels, logs, stones, vehicles, prey, whatever couldn't run away. In hunts, he was often known to cast his spear straight through an animal so hard that it stuck into the ground or trees several yards behind it. Mogan wasn't completely sure who was the stronger of the pair. Or the smarter.
Karshta looked fairly petite for a Mantu, which meant that she was a little less than three times his height and probably weighed a little less than a bison. Her legs were bent, but he doubted they could straighten much more, at least not enough to stand any taller, and her feet were three-toed and longer than a spear, with claws that dug into the sand as she walked. A heavy tail trailed behind her, occasionally brushing the ground, and Mogan had no doubt that even without the armor they wore it could be a definite hindrance to any combatant behind her. Her hands were also three-fingered, like her feet. Mogan had thought of her as much like that strange and fearsome lizard he had fought back on New Klon, but those had tiny, useless arms, with sharp claws that were probably never used. Karshta's arms were so long that they almost reached the ground, and while the three fingers, one opposable, had claws, they were clipped and smoothed.
She had a longer neck than any human, or most animals he had seen, but not exactly snake-like, and her muzzle was more than a foot and a half long, big enough that she could probably grab a human by the waist and powerful enough that she could then touch her teeth together. Four eyes marked the front of her head, and two more closer to the sides, smaller ones.
It was a certainty that if Chadnov's attentions were not welcome, she could have made him aware of this in a fashion that left no room for confusion and little for healing. What wasn't certain was just how they had managed in the first place, but Mogan shook his head. That way led to the madness of the Auels.
He was amused to find three of the others shaking their heads as well. What had attracted Chadnov was also something of a mystery. Her own clothing was of the three-strings variety, but she had no breasts, nor hips, and the shape of her legs was mostly the shape of a lizard's legs.
“Welcome, Chadnov and Karshta.” The way Ansam paired the two, as if he was stating one name rather than two, was certainly deliberate. “This will take some time, and we don't want you to be any more uncomfortable. Sit, relax.”
The two sat, looking somewhat nervous. For Karshta, it simply meant folding her legs under her, although Chadnov sat cross-legged.
“Now,” Ansam began. “Rumor has it that you're expecting.”
“Expecting what?” The two spoke together, and brought another moment of stunned silence to the circle.
The silence stretched, as they stared at the two and the two stared at them, with growing expectation, until finally Ellisan broke it.
“The baby?”
“Oh. Yes, I will be giving birth.”
Mogan nodded. “Well... why don't you start with that? Do you lay eggs?”
Karshta seemed offended, but she told them. Apparently Mantu birthed live young, often three or four at a time but usually just one or two for their Meht, after a pregnancy of nearly a full year. While other species often looked down on their Meht, Mantu valued them immensely. This was only in part because the Sovereignty offered a hefty payment, and in part because Meht were able to get jobs that most other species could not. Mantu were often the heavily-armored barrier for Sovereignty armies—blade-walls, they were called—but were often not intelligent enough to manage vehicles or guns. Mantu Meht could carry massive weapons, or carefully pack and load valuable goods, or even serve as police forces or intimidating guards with far less chance of mishaps.
They did not have milk, but the babies were immediately able to eat mashed meat; they were apparently like dogs in that they were generally carnivores but could eat some plants. And perhaps because they had less brain to develop, they grew to adulthood in a shorter time. This made Chadnov quite nervous until he discovered that she was in her nineteenth year, and they usually lived to their sixties.
“And you're certain that Chadnov here is the father?”
Chadnov winced, but Karshta nodded. “He is a cute little thing.” Chadnov winced again.
“Well!” Ansam nodded. “Congratulations to the both of you, then.”
Chadnov's eyes widened in horror as he continued. “That means, of course, that our people have certain duties. We'd like you to come with us, Karshta.”
“You'll need help raising your children now,” Mogan added, “and we can do the marriage right here, if you'll take him.”
“You are referring to... a husband? A... human husband?”
Chadnov stared, and they could almost hear the wheels creaking as they turned. The hunter could refuse the wedding, of course. But “of course” meant the same as “really” and “interesting” in this case—it would be the end of his reputation and his aspirations. He would have a hard time leading anyone, joining hunting parties, or getting near a woman again if it was known that he had gotten a woman with child and abandoned her. All he could hope for was that she would refuse him, and by the look of it that wasn't going to happen.
“And all of your children will be Meht. Here's hoping you have many.”
The smile she turned upon her new fiance was downright predatory, and Chadnov found himself chuckling.

2023.03.22 04:29 OriChabz Small appreciation post for myself

I've been trying to lose weight for years after putting on A LOT during the pandemic. I've been in and out and fitness but recently had a wake up call when I realized I was teetering the line between overweight and obese (BMI wise).
It's a small step, but I logged all of my calories for today and made conscious food choices. I went slightly over what I budgeted, but I expected this and intentionally budgeted less calories for the day so I'm actually still in a deficit. I downloaded the Couch 25K app and plan on starting my day 1 tomorrow morning. I'm super excited to take care of myself again and see the results, even though I know they come slowly.

2023.03.22 04:28 LordCoale The Mercy of Humans: Part 17 - A Calculated Risk

First- Previous
The air ambulance hovered just thirty meters above the raging waters of the river running well above flood stage. My wife, Nalini, piloted the craft with such expert skill that we barely moved, even in the near hurricane level winds. I hooked my safety harness into the airship’s safety line, just above the penetrator basket, while Tajamal leaned out the open hatch, scanning for people to rescue.
“Jabir,” Taj called, “I have three in view. In the trees to our seven.”
The blowing rain made it hard to see, but Taj had the benefit of enhanced vision with his SAR helmet optics. I pulled my visor plate down and sealed it as I looked out the hatch. The optics turned on automatically and I tapped the controls to trigger lowlight and infrared modes. Dalutian’s body temperature is a bit lower than human at 35° but, against the cold river, they stood out like bonfires.
“I see them. Nali, slide us back about twenty meters and I will drop.”
She'd heard Taj’s call and was already sliding back while rotating slightly to the left, placing me in a prime position to drop down into the trees. I remember reading about early search and rescue operations on Terra before the discovery of antigravity technology. They used helicopters, an inelegant, ancient machine that beat the air into submission. The machines were deadly when they malfunctioned, even at low altitudes. Such disasters were rare these days, but no unheard of.
“The wind is picking up,” Nalini called out. “From the north-northeast. Reads twenty-five sustained, gusting to fifty-five.”
“Thanks. I think we can handle it. Maintain at ten meters and keep her steady as you can,” I ordered.
My entire SAR crew was family. My wife is our pilot, her sister Marwa an emergency and trauma nurse. Their brother Zafar and my cousin Tajamal were both SAR pararescue. What was odd about my team is we are all ethnic Arabs that lived among the blond Vikings of Nya Österlen. We had not had the genetic mods to live there which made it a bit of a struggle at times. But we wanted to learn from the best before we moved back home to New Berlin. I will not lie though, the lower gravity here was a relief.
I jumped out of the hatch, swinging from the winch line as Zafar lowered me into the trees. I could see the faces of three Dalutians looking up at us. I could not tell if it was fear, awe, or confusion on their faces. The penetrator pushed through the uppermost branches. I used my feet to push it where I wanted it, edging closer to the natives clinging to the branches.
The wind made it impossible for me to talk to them. The two adults looked absolutely exhausted. I guessed they had been in this tree for quite a while, fighting the wind and rain. They look up at me, eyes wide in shock. I guess I would be too if some strange alien dropped out of the sky to rescue me. I unfolded the penetrator into its basket mode and locked it in place. I motioned to the woman with her child. I pointed at the basket, and she shook her head.
It seems that is the universal ‘no.’ I pointed to her and her child and pointed to the basket again, showing her the harnesses to secure them. The male yelled something I could not understand, and she hugged her child tight and scooted to the basket. I grabbed her around the waist and held them securely as they got into the basket. I quickly strapped their harnesses together and motioned to the last one. I figured he was the father. As he moved around the trunk to where the basket was, he slipped and fell hard. He bounced his head on a thick limb and went limp.
I wasted no time in thought and jumped after him. If he hit the water unconscious, he would die. I could not catch him. He was just out of reach when I hit the end of my tether and hit the quick disconnect.
“What are you doing?” My wife was angry at my choice.
It was, arguably, a bad idea. While by no means as good as a military survival suit, our SAR suits had self-contained rebreathers that allowed us to breathe in toxic or underwater environments. They were tough as hell. The armor was not the ablative, laser resistant military armor but could handle anything I would encounter here. He splashed into the water and sank. I could see his heat signature as the roaring waters ripped him away.
I hit the water. I could feel the cold water momentarily, until my suit’s environmental systems kicked on the heaters. I could see his body with my heat sensors. I triggered the sonar, and the computer painted the inside of my visor with the information. The floodwaters held many dangers, mostly from floating or submerged wood. Often these hazards were entire trees ripped from the ground upriver. I could still get crushed if I made a mistake.
“Jabir?” My wife was really angry.
“I am fine. Take the ship a klick downstream,” I ordered. “Zafar drop the net when I get close.”
“Roger,” Zafar answered. “I have you on the scope.”
All the SAR suits are tied into the airship’s datanet. With the locator beacons and health monitors, the flight crew could track me easily. I was not worried about them tracking me. Retrieving me was another thing entirely. But that was a worry for later. I still had to reach my target. I am an excellent swimmer. Anyone who wants to work in search and rescue is required to be better than average.
I kicked off strongly, pushing hard to catch up. It was easy to do since he was just bouncing along like a rag doll. If I cannot get to him soon, he will drown. I caught up and reached out, grabbing a handful of feathers. I felt some pull loose but enough held that I was able to pull him into a tight hold. He was a lump of dead weight as I pushed to the surface.
I could see the airship hovering over the river. Nalini held it in the perfect position. She held the airship at five meters, with the starboard hatch open and net barely in the water. Zafar and Taj knelt inside the hatch, looking at me as I bobbed down the river. I was at the mercy of the floodwaters. Holding onto the Dalutian meant I had little ability to swim. I kicked as hard as I could to position the best I could for the net to catch us. I hit sideways, my left arm snaking into the net while hooking my legs giving me three points of contact.
“Lift the net,” I yelled. “Lift the net!”
Zafar hit the lift and Nalini pulled up, lifting us out of the water. The net retracted into the roof and deposited us in a wet heap in the deck. Taj closed the hatch as I popped my visor and removed my helmet. Zafar pulled the male out of the net and worked to get the water out of his lungs. Only then I heard the mother and child crying in fear. I could not tell what they were saying, but I could see their concern.
Marwa took over, placing an oxygen mask over his beak. “Get us to a hospital,” she said. “He has a head injury and water inhalation. He’s breathing but it’s shallow. Damn, I wish I knew their physiology better.”
Zafar waved his sensor wand over the male’s little body. I knew they were smaller than us, but I did not realize just how much smaller they were.
“Blood pressure is low,” Zafar said. “At least that’s what the computer says. And body temp is low. Let’s get him on the stretcher and into a thermal blanket.”
I helped move the body onto a stretcher mounted on the bulkhead. All the stretchers were equipped with body heaters and the thermal blankets were little more than high tech electric blankets with the added ability to wick away water. This would help stabilize him, but he needed a full hospital.
The other two were chattering at me but I still had no idea what they were saying. “Do we have the translator package downloaded?”
“You don’t have it?” Zafar asked.
“No. I did not see it in the download files.”
“I pushed it automatically to your suit,” he replied. “Check for a file labelled Dal1.5. It should have installed by itself.”
“Well, it didn’t.” I pulled up the files on my suit’s computer. “Found it. Installing it now.”
With the file installed, I could finally understand what they were saying, for all the good it did me. I could tell they were family. The child was hysterical and the mother struggling to calm her. We got the father strapped in and secure. Through the deck, I could feel the engines vibrating as Nali pushing the airship to its maximum speed. Marwa had the father well in hand, so I turned to his family.
“We will be at a hospital within a few minutes.” I heard my speaker translate my words into their sing song language. It sounded like one of the tonal languages from earth mixed with a parrot’s call. “We have doctors who can help him. Do you understand?”
They both started talking and the mother shushed the child. Or at least, the translation software made the sounds. Often there is something lost in the translation.
“Who are you?” The mother asked.
“I am Jabir Tamraz.”
“No, who are all of you? I have not seen any of your species before.”
“Oh. We are humans.”
“Humans?” She recoiled a bit but then seemed to shake as she digested the news. We knew coming in to this mission that there would be some fear or anxiety. Most of the Confederation species had no real meaningful interactions with humanity. And even though some of the Dalutains had traded with us before, they were the minority.
“Yes, we are humans,” Marwa replied. “There are thousands of us out looking for survivors and doing what we can to rescue them. Just as we did for you.”
“But… Why?” The daughter spoke softly, but the translator spoke at full volume.
“Because… Because we felt it was the right thing to do,” I replied. “Many of our people have needed help. Sometimes desperately needed help. Most of the time, that help came. But not always. But our people have never needed help as badly as yours do. I am sorry we were not able to get here sooner.”
“Our government asked the Confederation for help. But it never came.” Again, the translator could not put her bitterness into the translation we heard. But I could tell by her body language that she was angry and defeated.
“I cannot speak to that. But I can tell you that we are here and not going away.”
“Prepare to land. We will be at the hospital in less than a minute,” Nali called over the intercom.
The ship settled onto the ground with barely a bump. My wife is the best pilot around. The back ramp lowered and several people ran aboard, two picked up the father and carried the stretcher off the ship. Two others checked on our other to passengers and quickly led them off and into the hospital.
I was happy that we had managed to save them, but we had more to do.
Nali grabbed my arm roughly and pulled me around to face her. “What the hell was that?”
“I almost lost him.”
“You broke protocol. We never disconnect the tether in a situation like that! What the hell were you thinking?”
“I was thinking that I could not let him die. Not in front of his family.”
“And what of me? I could have seen you die!” She had tears in her eyes, but they were tears of anger. “You are not immortal. You have a wife and daughter, too.”
“I know. It was a calculated risk,” I replied. “Our SAR suits can take a log of damage before we get hurt, and I had three hours of oxygen. He did not. If I had not gone in after him, he would have died. I was his only hope of surviving. We did not choose this profession because it was safe. We chose it because we felt a calling to save lives.”
“Don’t you die on me.” She grabbed me in a tight hug. “Don’t you dare. I cannot live without you.”
“Don’t say that. You are the strongest person I know. You were strong as steel before I met you. That was why I fell in love with you. And if anything, you are stronger now. You push me to be stronger. If anyone in this universe can survive, it is you.”
“Just… Don’t do that again without warning me. Okay? Promise me.”
“I promise. I will not do something stupid without warning you first.”

2023.03.22 04:22 Bentendo1993 UPDATE: My toddler just informed me that she watches Jehovah on Grandma's tablet

Original: https://www.reddit.com/exjw/comments/11wmvpy/my_toddler_just_informed_me_that_she_watches/
A lot of people seemed interested in an update after I confronted my parents. Curious what your thoughts are
First some clarification: I said that abandoning my parents wasn't an option for me NOT because I rely on them for childcare but because I genuinely love them. The childcare once a week thing is solely my mom's idea and her's alone so that she can bond more. We have a daycare and pay full time for it
Okay onto what happened after I posted that. My mom and dad were both at work when I found out and they both work jobs where you don't really call them until after their shift is over. My dad got off first so I called him up and he seemed genuinely surprised that mom did it. Which is kinda exactly what I was expecting. I've been thinking that my dad is sort of stuck in the religion but doesn't really believe it, and he's definitely not 100 percent in like my mom. I've gathered that most meetings he logs into Zoom and it's caused a big rift in my parent's relationship which has always been pretty rocky. The zoom option is such a foreign concept to me (10 years faded) but it sounds like a God send to PIMOs.
Anyway, I told him that I need his help in making sure mom knows that this could never happen again. He said he has no control over what she does (implying she's a lose cannon which she is) and doesn't want to be punished for her actions, because she left him completely out of the loop and he would never try to convert my kids (which I one hundred percent believe). I also believe that my mom wouldn't do anything funny with him around, but when she watches the kids my dad is at work.
After my mom gets off work she calls me (I texted her to) and ask why my daughter brought up watching Jehovah on her tablet. She immediately admitted it but said it was nothing major and was only a children's video about butterflies and how beautiful they are (if anyone knows this video please send it to me). I said it sure made an impact on her because she knows Jehovah's name, Sophia's name, even the religion's rules on holidays lmao. My mom and I started going back and forth on what is and isn't allowed and she started getting really defensive and tried to change the subject multiple times. Here are the ways she tried to do that:
*"You think Jehovah's Witnesses are a bad influence? She said goddamnit and when I asked her where she heard such a thing she said she heard it from YOU" (sidenote: this is true but I when I accidentally curse in front of my kids I try to explain to them that it's bad)
*"YOU think the world was created by SCIENTISTS". (This one blew me away because it had nothing to do with anything. I literally told her I won't let her change the subject and wouldn't even entertain it and that the statement itself makes no sense to me. I'm confident it's because I believe in evolution)
When asked why she showed the video to her, she said that she was browsing the jw website and was watching the latest videos. I'm like, why are you watching children's videos? She said she watches all of them. I have no idea anything about Sophia but that seems weird no? Anyway she said my daughter was interested in what she was watching and was so enthralled by it that she wanted to watch it over and over again. I asked if it was only about butterflies why she even knows Jehovah's name and she didn't have an answer
It just kept getting out of hand (legit yelling) and so I told her if she can't apologize and make commitments with the new clarifications that our kids can't watch ANYTHING JW adjacent no matter how innocent then it'll go to supervision only if dad isn't home. I told her my daughter can't go through the trauma that I did. She said "you weren't sexually abused" and I said that there's more types of trauma than just sexual trauma and she just scoffed at the idea . She did apologize and say it won't happen again, but even after that I couldn't decide what I'm comfortable with and we ended the call with no resolution and me just hanging up on her
My dad later called and told me that when she got home, they got in a HUGE fight over it that ended with her threatening to quit her job and then storming out of the house. He said that she's completely lost her mind over this, especially when she found out that my dad is taking my side. That was last night and I have not heard anything all day.

2023.03.22 03:56 CaveShaman PSVR on Linux via Monado: a setup guide

Linux VR is the new S&M, and PSVR is one of its strangest fetishes. You'll find yourself wrapped in an HDMI cable with a box on your head that lets you see nothing until you tell your PC in very precise terms to do what you want. I don't know what those Collabora folks get paid to do, but I guarantee you it isn't this.

The good:

The bad:

The ugly:

I can see a use case for someone on a tight budget to make a seated/mouse-and-keyboard VR game using Godot, but in that case you're better off getting a cheap WMR headset for the same price, which would probably be easier to set up. But if you already have a PSVR, it does work within the above limitations.
The setup guide below is split into 5 setions: Initial Actions (what you do to set up VR the first time), Recurrent Actions (what you do to set up VR every time), Automation (how to make it slightly more convenient), PSmove (trying out really buggy controller tracking), and SteamVR (exotic experiences in failure).

Initial Actions

UDEV RULES
USB devices on GNU/Linux involve a system called udev. On most distros in 2023, VR devices still need extra udev rules to tell the system to use them. Install the xr-hardware package from your distro.
INSTALL MONADO
You can install Monado from several different places, but if you want to avoid serious bugs, I recommend installing from its Git repo. To build Monado with enough features to actually work, you must first install ALL of the dependencies. Find the list of dependency packages for your system in .gitlab-ci.yml.
If you finish off the installation with sudo make install, it will install Monado to an acceptable default location.
CAMERA CALIBRATION
You need a PS4-to-PS5 adaptor to plug the PS4 camera into a USB3 port. Plug the camera in, then follow the guide located here for instructions on how to calibrate it.
ps4eye_init.py may need modification. #!/usbin/env python should be changed to #!/usbin/env python3 and firmware.bin should be changed to its absolute path. The script depends on a package called pyusb. You may need to run ps4eye_init.py as sudo.
ENVIRONMENT VARIABLE
A lot of OpenXR software relies on an environment variable to find the runtime. XR_RUNTIME_JSON must equal the absolute path of the runtime's JSON configuration file. On my system, the export line would look like this:
export XR_RUNTIME_JSON=/uslocal/share/openx1/openxr_monado.json
On other systems, it might look like this:
export XR_RUNTIME_JSON=/uslocal/share/openx0/active_runtime.json
To find your JSON file, look in /uslocal/share/openxr. Then, add the appropriate export line to your ~/.profile so the variable is assigned when you log in. Now log out and log in again.
OPENXR PLAYGROUND
The openxr-simple-playground demo is the simplest program that works reliably with direct mode. You can use this to test VR functionality after completing the Recurrent Actions.
Before you build, you need to install the OpenXR development package (libopenxr-dev on Debian-based distros). Then run the standard cmake steps:
mkdir build cd build cmake .. make

Recurrent Actions

To avoid extending your desktop to the headset, disconnect power from the PSVR processor box any time you restart your computer.
CHECK CABLES
The VR processor and the PS4 camera must be plugged into USB3 ports. The VR processor must be plugged into your computer's HDMI port, and your main monitor should be plugged into a different port on your computer. Ignore the VR processor's TV out port.
MAKE SURE THE PS4 CAMERA SHOWS UP
Run guvcview or a similar webcam program to verify that the PS4 camera is plugged in and turned on. If you didn't set things up just right, you may have to manually run this every time:
sudo /uslocal/opt/ps4eye/ps4eye_init.py
ENTER DIRECT MODE
Direct mode. First, find what your system identifies the PSVR's HDMI device as by running this:
xrandr --prop
Make sure you got the right name so you don't deactivate your main monitor. If the PSVR is identified as (for example) HDMI-1, run this to set it to direct mode:
xrandr --output HDMI-1 --set non-desktop 1
START THE MONADO SERVICE
Open a terminal window and run:
XRT_COMPOSITOR_LOG=debug monado-service
Wait for blue lights on the front of the headset. No blue lights? See RESETTING.
If all is working, blue lights should illuminate the front of the headset and VR apps should "just work", albeit with a little stutter and without tracked controllers (more on those later). Blender is hit-or-miss, SteamVR is miss, openxr-playground always works.
RESETTING
If you need to reset your headset due to misalignment or other issues, follow these steps:
  1. Close monado-service (Ctrl-C)
  2. Press and hold the headset's power button to turn it off, then press it once to turn it on again
  3. rm -f /run/use1000/monado_comp_ipc
  4. Position the headset in front of the PS4 camera
  5. Hold the headset steady and start monado-service

Automation

You must at least complete Initial Actions for this to work. For my setup, this script prepares PSVR for use by an OpenXR program such as a game, bypassing most of the steps in Recurrent Actions:
#!/bin/sh sudo /uslocal/opt/ps4eye/ps4eye_init.py xrandr --output HDMI-1 --set non-desktop 1 rm -f /run/use1000/monado_comp_ipc XRT_COMPOSITOR_LOG=debug monado-service

PSmove

After you have tried all of the above and gotten cubes to appear on the headset, it's time to experience Monado's very "early adopter" controller tracking. You will need a bluetooth adaptor. The one in your laptop should work, or you can pick one up that advertises plug-and-play Linux support. I use a USB bluetooth dongle from Sabrent, and I would recommend it.
Bear in mind that Monado maps the PSmove controllers as basic input devices, so games that lack rebindable controls may not recognize the buttons. However, you can still see their positions in space. As of March 2023, there is noticeable gyro drift after 2 minutes of use, causing the wands to point in the wrong direction.
One undocumented quirk is that you must hold the the wands balls-up with the buttons facing opposite the camera (towards your face) when you start monado-service. Otherwise, the rotations will be wrong from the start. You may also notice lag in controller positons.

SteamVR

Tired of boring cubes and glitchy Blender? Try Steam's Linux VR games! All 5 of them! Monado includes a SteamVR compatibility layer (documented here).
A few things to keep in mind:

Wrap-up

In conclusion, I would not currently recommend PSVR with Monado for tracked controller games. It could be a replacement for the Oculus DK2 if you set up OpenComposite correctly. PSVR is ergonomic and has excellent visual clarity, and even poorly calibrated camera tracking is sufficient when playing seated. However, there are far better options available.

2023.03.22 03:50 Azel_Lupie Is fighting every patient part of getting Licensed to be a pain management doctor?

This is mostly a vent, but empathy/sympathy and advice is appreciated. This has to do with my visit today. I saw my actual pain management doctor today, he's *also* the head of the clinic. I've seen previously that other patients have had trouble with him, especially with him accusing them of drug seeking/ being addicted, and now that maybe true, but I'm really questioning it after my experience. (Watch, if he reads this and put two and two together, he's only going to use this as evidence against me).
Prior to my new prior authorization (needed a fresh one because new year and what every), the last time I saw him was in November, days before I went to the ER because I tried to OD on the Celebrex he prescribed me. At that time, I was told that after the failed epidural, the TENS unit, various NSAID's and the PT that I couldn't even end up going to because I was in too much pain to get out of bed, and ended up dropping out of that semester, I was told that I literally had no other option than surgery, and to see my Neurosurgeon (October). I had forgotten to ask for a refill for Zofran, because the pain made me so nauseous I couldn't eat, and during my hospitalization in October they diagnosed me with "Severe Malnutrition" and kept bugging me to make sure I had enough food in the house. When I ran out of Zofran, I requested through the pharmacy they went through the last time, later I got a hold of them and they told me they tried to get ahold of someone there, but they couldn't. I had written the date down. I called them, and spent a lot of time trying to get ahold of them, but as usual nobody was answering and their voicemail was full.
Eventually I got a call from insurance company and explained there wasn't a lot of treatment options (I would of liked to try other things than just jumping the gun to opiates anyways, I had already tried pot before it became too expensive and I needed to stop taking it, so I could go to pain management) and that I've been struggling to get a hold of them to refill my prescription. I get a call back about an hour later, saying that I was never prescribed zofran and that I wasn't at my last appointment. I double checked the date, and yes it was that last appointment they said I was never at despite it in the transportation logs for the service my insurance uses to transport me to my appointments. They scheduled me an appointment, because according to my insurance, the clinic wanted to see me. Fast forward to the last appointment I had with them last year, the same PA told me "I don't know why you are even here, there's nothing we can do for you." She asked someone upfront to cancel this appointment. It felt like they were intentionally gaslighting me. I broke down crying on my way home, I was so shell shocked I didn't mention that I was there for a refill. I gave up on my pain being managed ever, and attempted suicide days later.
I was in the ER for 7 days, 5150'd, so I couldn't leave. They also couldn't place me, because there was no psych ward that could handle my medical issues, despite not only being in one of the biggest cities in all of the US, but in the whole world, there was no psych ward equipped to treat me. The nurses, the ER techs and the "babysitters", were all so kind, despite the amount of bullshit they dealt with from the Kitchen or the patients. I was later discharged, and when I got home I realized how much my fur babies needed me and how much I scared my family and my partner. I made it my goal to prep for surgery despite struggling to walk, frequent falls (I get the yellow fall risk patient at ALL 3 hospitalizations thus far), difficult to eliminate and the chronic pain. I got the surgery in Novemember, and was pain free until 1 month in, and at 6 weeks was able to manage my pain with Tylenol, but around the 2 month mark it became unmanageable and I got a new referral which ended up being the same doctor. I saw his PA, who gave me a week supply of tramadol, and then told me to follow up with the doctor since she couldn't make regiments or pain management plans.
I went to see him today, and I was anxious, but I feel like I should of dreaded it more, because it was that bad, it was worse than I expected. I hadn't forgotten about the complaint but didn't think I would be confronted about it. He spent the majority of the appointment interrogating me, trying to get me to trip up and basically make me say I was there for opiates, when really I wanted just something to make my pain manageable , so I could do my PT exercises and hopefully able to manage my pain without anything more than NSAIDS, after I finish my PT. He had some other doctor there, who I am assuming is like a resident or a fellow, learning about pain management, and it was so embarrassing that he spent this entire time basically fighting me and implying I was there for opiates, when that wasn't my goal. Moreover, it felt like a veiled threat about the PA that I saw last time, about how she's kind, but she's a nightmare when mad. It seems like he wants absolutely nothing to do with me, and honestly I don't either. It was so triggering, and if insurance wasn't a nightmare, I would have requested a different clinic.
A Part of me wants to write a letter both apologizing, but asserting my story and why I went that route, maybe even sending them a copy of all of the evidence, but I think that's a horrible idea, because it's pretty adversarial and probably more "proof" that I'm drug seeking. It just seems like in order for a doctor to practice "pain management" they need to have an adversarial relationship with every patient that walks in, and I much rather have one that doesn't and instead actually listens to me instead of constantly cutting me off, ignoring me or talking over. But if any doctor wants to know why patients have trust issues with doctors, this is probably one of the many billions, if not trillions of stories out there.

2023.03.22 03:40 PantrashMoFo Forced place insurance

Could anyone tell me if the following scenario is legal?
I bought a house last year and homeowners was paid in full through escrow. Just before the 12 month point I logged into my online account with the insurer to see if renewal price was on there.
Insurer had in fact cancelled my policy 8 months before. Said I hadn’t made right some points from a home inspection. I had received nothing from them since the “welcome to sagesure” pack etc. no letters no calls no emails. Mortgage company was also unaware until I told them.
I got insurance from somewhere else within 2 business days of finding out. Mortgage company is now charging me 1700 dollars for the insurance “they bought” to cover the lapse. How did they buy it 8 months before they knew about it?
Can this be legal?
I can’t find anything like it on google

What You Get?
SIX CRITICAL REASONS WHY THIS IS DIFFERENTFROM REGULAR AFFILIATE MARKETING… or indeed, anything else…
The conversion rates are OFF THE CHARTS We spoke about this a little earlier, but one of the massive differences here is that you convert A LOT more people than you do with regular affiliate marketing. For instance, if you were promoting an ebook on golf let’s say, it converted at 3% and you got $15 in commissions per sale. For every 100 clicks, you make 3 sales x $15 = $45. With this system, you could be promoting a weight loss offer with a 20% conversion rate and a $50 commission per conversion. For the same 100 clicks, you make 20 sales x $50 = $1000. $45 vs $1000 – it’s a massive difference.
There are NO TRAFFIC ISSUES To begin with, you take advantage of a highly-effective source of cheap trafficto reach people who are looking for the exact offers that you are promoting. Then when it comes to scaling up, you use secret sources of traffic (both paid AND free) that deliver instant traction and conversions.
There is NO CONTENT CREATION If you’ve done any sort of affiliate marketing before, you may know that one of the downsides is that you need to create a lot of content. You know the type of thing… In depth product reviews, comparisons and so forth which can be time consuming (or) expensive to outsource. With this model you hardly need to create any written content… only a handful of words, if any at all… and most of the time NONE at all.
You are building a VALUABLE ASSET One of the big advantages here is that even though you are generating leads for other companies, YOU are also capturing their details as well (quite legitimately). Not only does this mean you can follow up with them, sell them other offers and boost your income… it ALSO means you are building YOUR OWN list, and therefore creating a real business with potentially huge value that could be sold on for a lump sum later.
You could get very RAPID RESULTS There is no digital content creation involved here. You can pinpoint an offer, throw your landing page online and start driving traffic in as little as 60 minutes… maybe even less. This means you could start seeing results exceptionally fast.
You can DO THIS ON THE SIDE As this system requires very little time to start, and as little as 5 to 10 hours a week to run, depending on how fast you want to hit the ground running, you can continue to work your day-job or current online business (if you want to). You don’t have to modify your life or give anything up at all.
The 123 Profit Training Program that reveals how we generate thousands of dollars per day, and how those willing to take action could use the same system to go from ZERO… to $500/day… to $1000/day (and beyond) …then keep scaling up from there!
Let’s run through the EIGHT components of the 123 Profit training to show you how this all comes together and how YOU can take advantage of this incredible system…
The first component of the 123 Profit training is “Mission Control”… your dedicated, private members area.
The members area contains a series of 100+ clear and concise step-by-step videos that’ll show you exactly how to get set up and running with this system, even if you don’t have any prior experience.
The actual value of what you’ll receive here is huge and I could spend hours going through all the details of what’s included… but for now, here’s a top level overview…
The videos cover each step of the process in precise detail and we’ll also hand you a large number of strategy manuals, process maps and other content that you can refer to as you watch and learn. We cover literally everything… from getting started, to picking offers, to building your web pages, getting traffic…then how to hit your first sales and how to scale up from 4 to 5, even 6-figures per month. The training will be delivered directly by me and my team of experts, all of whom have successful businesses in this field… and it will be truly comprehensive.
Along with these videos, your Mission Control area will contain the recordings of the live sessions we’ll do (more on this in a second…)
…and you’ll also be able to access all the software, tools and support features from here as well.
This is literally just scratching the surface of what you will receive within Mission Control.. The training you’ll receive will be truly world-class.
Over the past decade we’ve taught tens of thousands of people how to build successful online businesses and one of the key predictors of success is if someone has direct access to myself and my team… In other words, if they have the ability to ask us questions at key stages as they build their online empire.
Having the ability to be able to chat and communicate with us directly is so critical… And that is why we are going to be holding MULTIPLE LIVE SESSIONS every single week as you progress through the training, so you can push forward and build up your business as quickly as possible.
Here are some more precise details and a taste of how this is going to work…
Firstly, we will be holding a live webinar each week where we’ll be presenting the core step that is the focus of that particular week. It will be super-detailed and we’ll also give you a series of action-steps, milestones and checkpoints that’ll allow you to successfully complete it. There will be an extensive Q&A at the end of this webinar in case you have any questions… although do note that if you need any additional clarification you can always refer back to the core videos in your Mission Control area – and use our support network. In addition to the live webinar, we’ll be holding MULTIPLE live Zoom calls each week which will also have live interaction and chat. You can hop on and ask us questions if you are stuck, and we’ll do our best to give you detailed analysis and advice on what to do and how to move forward.
Plus, these Zoom calls will also contain additional training, powerful and inspiring case-studies and much more.
All these live sessions will be held at a variety of times, so there will be a time that you can join no matter where you are in the world. …and like I mentioned, the recordings will be posted to your Mission Control area soon after the session has finished.
Basically, you’re going to get a MASSIVE boost by taking advantage of our experience, expertise and infrastructure with the EXACT same systems and techniques that WE use to generate thousands of dollars on a daily basis in our own business.
Now this is where it gets really exciting!
As you may know, having a real-life case-study to refer to as you are building your business is extremely useful (to say the least) and we are going to hand you something that we KNOW will accelerate the success of your business at lightning speed.
You’re going to get access to a case-study document (and an additional video series) that shows you EXACTLY how we generated $50,681 in just 50 days using this incredible system.
And when I say exactly… I really mean it.
Literally EVERYTHING will be revealed with no stone unturned.
And do you know what the most exciting part of this is…?
You can get access to the DOCUMENT part of the case-study in literally 60 seconds from now.
That’s right… as soon as you join us today, register your account and log into your Mission Control area, you will see the secret document right there in front of you…with EVERYTHING revealed inside.
The video series which will accompany this document will be released as we progress with the training, but you WILL get all the insider-information straight away… like RIGHT NOW.
Put it this way, if you ever wanted a sneak-peek into a million dollar online business… this is basically as good as it gets!
It is ABSOLUTE GOLD DUST!
We talked about the Profit Suite a few minutes go, so rather than repeat everything here, let’s just quickly sum up each of the three main elements.
First, there’s THE MASTERLIST…
This is our vault of top paying offers which you can get special access to, if you join our inner-circle today. To sum it it, you’ll…
Instantly get access to top offers with automatic approval… Skip all the usual headaches when applying for a network account… And have a major headstart right from the get go!
Then there’s the PROFIT PHANTOM…
The Phantom is the “engine” that helps set up and run your business quietly behind the scenes… and will allow you to build your business at an ultra-rapid rate, even if you’re just starting out.
The Profit Phantom will allow you to…

The main dashboard will enable you to see a detailed overview of your key metrics, things like growth rates, broadcasts, auto-emails sent out, and also sending stats. The broadcast builder will allow you to access to pre-formatted emails, which you can customize however you need. And you’ll be able to build out high-profit funnels fast and quickly WITHOUT having to write any sales copy at all.
This section of 123 Profit is all about Done-For-You templates, files, pages and content designed to achieve one thing… the speed in which you can succeed with this system!
We’re basically going to give you access to our private repository of content and let you copy the EXACT frameworks we use in our own business which will save you a HUGE amount of time.

Then of course, like we covered a moment ago, you will have access to a large number of DONE-FOR-YOU landing pages which are proven to generate massive amounts of leads and sales.
