CABIN ROAD is the gateway to paradise.
But why does this feel like a path to hell?
I smash into a tall pine tree that stands in the middle of the otherwise straight gravel road. I've gone around it hundreds of times before. But now, my fingers are firmly gripped on the steering wheel, disregarding all my commands. Have I become paralyzed?
A potato is wobbling on the dashboard, having obviously leaped out of the potato crates in the back seat. Jack gets out and strides to the front bumper. His lips press into a thin line as he appraises the destruction and cost of fixing it. Nothing should hold him back from swearing. But he maintains his composure, anger simmering just beneath the surface.
The memory of thirty years of marriage fills my mind. I question whether this man has drugged me. A fleeting thought that he might have crashed the car surfaces, but it seems too much of a stretch. I take a deep breath and try to clear my head.In the rear-view mirror, Jack gets an axe from the trunk. He comes and gazes at me from my window, his eyes looking heavy and weary—like two precious pearls inside their oyster-like shells. I straighten and open the window:
“Thank goodness it wasn't worse.”
“I'll chop it down.”
“That’s a pretty big tree, Jack.”
Jack blinks several times.
“I do have a chainsaw...”
“Yes.” I wonder what stories this tree has witnessed during its lifetime. Will we see the marks of our journey on its rings? There’s always something that gets squeezed in tighter, begging to be unraveled.
“I'll drive you to the cabin and grab the chainsaw,” Jack says. “Prepare some coffee while I'm gone.”
Our short passage to the cabin around the bend is like shifting through the fog of memory. I'm in the kitchen. My fingers clench around the coffee tin can and spoon. Bewilderment engulfs my brain. I spot Jack with his saw. He slips around the corner, the curve of his bottom visible through his tight work trousers. I feel anxious about the crash. Did I deliberately hit the tree?
The measuring spoon slips from my hand. It drops onto the floor along with the tin can. I clean up the mess. Could someone drive into a tree on purpose? Accidents do happen after all. It's fascinating to see him take on this role of being so chivalrous. Far away from his academic duties.
As the chainsaw outside whines, I scroll through social media on my phone. People arguing about something or other makes me tired. I pick up a copy of Science magazine from the coffee table and scan through an article titled “Quantum Communication Across Interstellar Space,” authored by Jack. As usual, the details go right over my head. I like to amuse myself with the idea that it speaks about communicating with individuals who have passed away.
Billy's message pops up. He asks for money for a fishing trip with his buddies somewhere in Lapland. I am more than happy to support him since he’s enlisting in the army soon in July. My big boy.
I tell him about the car crash, and he gives me advice about a car repair store. Jack comes back earlier than expected. He plops into his seat, sweat beading on his forehead and the smell of resin emanating from him. He seems disappointed.I pour coffee to the brim.
“Did the saw get stuck?”
Jack shakes his head and adds sugar to his mug.
“It got shattered under the tree. I stumbled...”
Silence descends slowly, like dust.
“My helmet cracked.”
“Do you want me to buy new parts when I go to the store?”
“No need.”
“But there's pruning and cutting to do first.”
Jack takes a bite out of a cinnamon bun.
“I can sharpen the axe.”
“Ask the neighbors for help, that's what they're for. You can also mow the lawn while I'm away.”
“The grass is already short— it'll die off.”
“You don't want ticks taking over! Think about your mother's joint pain. She would roll in her grave if—”
“Cremated?’
“Yes!” My answer is like a flyswatter, leaving no room for further discussion or quantum physics.
Jack is busy chewing on the bun. His regular coffee breaks, which have become part of his daily routine in his sixties, have honed impressive jowls.
We enjoy our coffee and stare at the lake. Calm as a mirror. I have a feeling Jack will soon suggest fishing. As I gather my things to leave, I call to him:
“Don't hurt yourself. Should I bring more buns?”
“I was thinking of skipping the sugar and wheat...”
I simply smile in reply.
“Can you refuel the car?” Jack asks.
I'm already off. The door slams shut in the middle of his sentence, but Jack knows better than to expect a response.
I jump into the driver's seat and immediately notice forgotten potato baskets in the back seat, but my mind drifts away before I can do anything about it. As I pass by our old well, I remember that we need to discuss connecting the cabin to a new water source. No matter what it costs, it needs to be done. Why should I agree to be responsible for our running water anymore?
I collide with something hard. Airbags abruptly inflate around me, disorienting me as my vision blurs. Struggling to escape from the tangled mess of seatbelts and inflatable bags, it feels like I'm an old person trying to climb out of a bouncy castle.
My gaze rests on the scene before me, but my thoughts can't understand it. I have plowed into a tree stump. The tree stretches over the ditch. Nearby the chainsaw lies crushed. The cutting chain is nowhere to be found.
I get back in the car. Should I phone Jack for an urgent call? Inhaling slowly helps me stay calm. Why didn’t he mention the tree stump?
Someone taps on my window.
I jump and my neck stiffens up. I reach for the window switch.
“I should have told you about...” Jack says.
“The stump?”
“Didn't you see the tree on the ground?”
“I'm sorry. I was daydreaming.”
“Great galaxy, Hazel! You're burning through our last savings as if money grew on trees!”
Jack is being truly authentic with me. I stare back at him like some big-eyed exotic species from Madagascar that I can't identify in all this chaos. Jack opens the door and starts to put the cushion back in its place. We turn on the engine, giving the accelerator a test ride.
“Let's go to a repair shop. I'm sure our insurance will cover this,” Jack suggests. “We can say that we had an accident with a reindeer.”
“You're supposed to report it to the police or game warden if you hit an animal,” I reply.
Jack pauses for a moment. He then reverses and drives forward again, but when he looks into the rear-view mirror, he slams on the brakes.
“I have a better plan.”
He retrieves an orange towing strap from the trunk, a burst of determination on his face. He connects the stump and the tow hook.
“Get ready. We’re going to take a quantum leap here.”
We buckle our seat belts with a single click as we prepare for the inevitable disaster. We had already made so many mistakes together, starting with raising our children—though sometimes failing was just part of parenting.
Jack revs up the engine. A sudden lurch forward, then Jack howls in pain as the stump smashes through the rear window, clambering through the seats and lodging itself onto the gearbox, trapping Jack's hand. He veers off toward the ditch. The Milky Way spins around us, potatoes fly in the air and suddenly, all is quiet. We find ourselves upside down—surrounded by earthy potatoes and broken glass.
I try to break the silence:
“I just remembered: Billy's friend can repair cars at the vocational school much cheaper.”
Jack looks so pale, his face almost white. I guess he’s contemplating the next step.
Through the cracked windshield, I see the chainsaw chain lying in the ditch. How did it come to be rusting away? Maybe everything will go back to normal if we sit here and wait.
It feels almost as if we are flying in outer space, my nerves slowly calming down. But then a sudden stillness strikes that is anything but soothing.
“Jack, I’m feeling a bit dizzy…”
No answer.
“Jack...”
I snap open my eyes and the scene in front of me has changed drastically. It’s like I’ve been sucked into some kind of surreal void.
I hear a tapping noise on the window. An apology and then a loud thud; a huge rock has been hurled through the glass. A stench of strong aftershave ferments around me. A burly arm reaches across to release the seatbelt. An elderly man growls something crude, nothing like Jack's usual scout-like words.
My eyes close as I'm being cradled away, and visions of Jack's mathematics and symbols flicker around in my mind. Is the soul truly free when there is no force of gravity to pull us down?
I don't know who my savior is, but I can sense his worry as his face reddens. He is in military garb.
I come to as I feel my head thudding against the rubble. Instantly, I yearn to run away, contemplating that perhaps this experience is only a dream, and I'm back in the cabin chamber, tucked securely underneath a cosy blanket. A blanket that grants me the power to perform heroic acts like disappearing in a puff of smoke.
“Are you okay?” he speaks in a familiar voice.
Fingers brush over my clothes, picking out pieces of glass. My pocket contains an odd bulge—a potato? Suddenly, everything clicks: an aged Billy, wearing a major's rank insignia. How could he have achieved that rank so fast?
“Son, what are you doing on this tree ring?”
Billy peers at me from across the way, accompanied by a mysterious female figure. “We came to check on how you're doing,” Billy says. “Do you remember what happened?”
I raise my head and look around. There's nobody in the driver's seat of the car.
“Where is Jack?” I manage.
Billy furrows his brows like a detective would when weighing evidence. An image of the classic TV show Columbo flashes through my mind—he could lull suspects into a false sense of security before dropping the hammer of his sharp intellect on their inconsistencies. But I'm not hiding anything here. Though why are modern shows so bad? That's another mystery entirely.
“Mom, what were you doing out here? The road is an absolute disaster zone, with the car smashed up in the ditch.”
My thoughts swim haphazardly as Billy reads something from my expression, then casts his eyes towards his new girlfriend for assistance.
I try to get up but it hurts too much. Instead, I reach into my pocket and feel a sandy-sharp potato there. Maybe I can still wash it off.
“I’m fine,” I reply. “I need to get back to plowing the field... baking buns for Jack... buying a chainsaw...”
The darkness returns and I feel my body shiver. I'm in the car, traveling down bumps I've known for quite some time. Soon, I’m settled inside the cabin's living room on the couch. The coffee maker is gurgling in the corner of the room. Billy is on a call with a doctor about how to deal with grief and coping alone; it seems someone had died while cutting down a tree last year. He gets furious and threatens to take away the keys from the person he's talking to. It might be a good idea; many people have too many keys that they don't use anyway.
My head is spinning with thoughts about Jack's absence. Where did he go?Someone runs water over potatoes while a pot clatters on the stovetop. My temper rises as I wait for Jack's return. I won't stay here by myself without an explanation from him. I call out for Jack until there's no sound left but my coughing voice.
I crave sausage soup, and I know I must go to the store. As I try to move forward, I am wading through tar. They guide me to the coffee table. According to Jack, time runs faster the more hunched your back becomes. Let it be and let us sit here, motionless, gazing at the tips of our shoes. Surely, time has slowed down in this moment.
Billy reaches out and takes my hand. A handsome, greying gentleman. His girlfriend also places her hand on top of the pile. Her name is Ewa. A beautiful name, something familiar about her.
But did I hear her calling me mother?
In the yard, a squirrel hops with a cone in its mouth. It freezes and stares at me. I avert my gaze. My hands suddenly look wrinkled. I summon the inner strength that I've been striving to find for an eternity:
“Do we have to leave now?”
Billy exchanges glances with Ewa and then looks outside.
“You don't have to walk this path alone, Mother.”
We finish our coffee without saying another word. The wind sweeps across the lake. A pair of swans take flight, and a duet of gentle honks echo across the water. A shivering cold envelops me. Billy and Ewa take me to the car. The potatoes can wait.
The sun blazes brightly above us as we travel the cabin road; shapeless clouds dot the horizon and suddenly I sense a presence—as if someone is waving to me.
I surrender.
I believe I will be warmly welcomed.

The Global Tin Market Supports Positive Price Outlook
A critical shortage in tin supply is setting the stage for a positive price outlook for the commodity with deficits expected to persist in the foreseeable future.
This situation has arisen due to several factors including the lack of new tin discoveries and global events that have hindered the ability of tin miners and refiners to bring new supply into the market.
Since 1985, only four new tin mines have been put into production, now there are only a handful of operating, economic, and sustainable projects. There has been a general lack of new tin mineral exploration that has left the tin supply in desperate need of new discoveries.
The leading tin-producing nations have exhausted their near-surface high-grade tin deposits. Their mines are getting deeper, grades are declining, and operations are becoming more expensive. As a result, the London and Shanghai Metals Exchanges are experiencing historically low levels of tin supply.
China, the world’s largest tin-producing country is also the leading consumer of tin. In 2022, China accounted for approximately 30% of the global tin supply and 47% of the global tin consumption. What is alarming is that China’s tin production has consistently declined over the past 15 years which has coincided with global tin reserves being depleted over the same timeframe. According to USGS projections, this trend is expected to continue, and the supply deficit is expected to widen through 2030 and beyond.
Recent events have further impacted the global tin supply situation.
Indonesia, the second-largest tin-producing nation, has announced plans to limit or ban tin exports to create greater economic benefit within its borders by processing the metal in-country. The country’s Energy and Mining Minister, Arifin Tasrif stated, ‘What we are not allowing is exporting raw materials because these minerals are not renewable.’ The country only consumes 5% of the refined tin it produces and exports 95%. With China being the top importer of Indonesian tin bars, this would impact China’s ability to source enough tin that it needs as the largest solar panel and consumer electronics manufacturer in the world.
The third largest tin-producing nation, Myanmar, announced a mining ban to start in August 2023. Although previously thought to be uncertain, the Wa State recently released a comprehensive implementation plan for the suspension of all mining activities, demonstrating serious intent to proceed with the proposed ban. This will have devastating effects, further tightening the global tin supply. In 2022, Myanmar accounted for 77% of China’s tin ore imports with the Wa region accounting for 70% of Myanmar’s total tin production.
Minsur, the second-largest refined tin producer in the world, suspended its operations for the entirety of Q1 2023. Operations were suspended due to protests in Peru. Although the company has since resumed operations, it is likely they will continue to face disruptions for the remainder of the year.
The eight largest tin producer, EM Vinto in Bolivia, was also shut down all of Q1 2023 due to its inability to source enough coal from Peru to power its smelter. EM Vinto’s operations have resumed however, it is not out of the question that further disruptions occur due to the lack of a reliable coal supplier.
China’s Q1 2023 tin production declined. The country’s tin production was affected by lower concentrate grades and reduced tin imports from Myanmar. The country’s domestic mine feedstock grade also dropped lowering the total tin tonnes produced in the quarter. Guangxi China Tin, a major tin producer in the country was on care and maintenance for 2 months, further impacting China’s ability to contribute to the world’s global tin production.
The International Tin Association forecasts 3 scenarios based on the disruptions facing key tin-producing nations and companies; all show negative growth in global refined tin supply.
The most optimistic scenario sees a 4% decrease in refined tin supply, the neutral scenario would result in a 7% decrease in refined tin supply, and the most pessimistic scenario would lead to a 12% decrease in refined tin supply.
With so many factors inhibiting the growth in tin supply in the near and long term, the scarcity of the metal will be a catalyst for higher tin prices for the rest of the year and beyond.
The tin market is relatively small compared to other metals; any small disruption will have a large impact on the tin price.

It is a Canadian company exploring tin deposits in Bolivia and has secured agreements to acquire 100% interest in the SF and Porvenir tin projects located in the heart of the Bolivian Tin Belt in the Potosi Department, a world-renowned tin region.

Yesterday I was out with my trusty old first-gen HPI Firestorm Flux, and it suddenly started cogging and not going anywhere. So I went to pick it up, and that's when I noticed the smell, which I can best describe as "soldering"...
I immediately took the body off and grabbed the battery wires to unplug it, and they were scaldingly hot, both towards the battery and the ESC... I also noticed that the lipo was hot and had some slight swelling.
Later on after everything had cooled down I plugged in another battery and it turned on and played the Castle melody as usual, and the wires stayed cool until I tried giving it just a little bit of throttle which just caused further cogging and very hot battery wires again...
So I assume the ESC is fried and possibly shorting power back to the battery? Is there any way I can make sure whether it's really just the ESC that is broken and not the motor, or both? The motor doesn't seem to be locking up at least as the wheels can still roll freely.
The power train is still the stock Flux Motiv ESC & 5700kv Flux Warp motor combo with stock gearing.

But you probably don’t want the specifics but basically ... the doctor is in a fatal condition after leaving with gaping wounds in their shoulders, their thighs, their calves...yikes the list goes on but I don’t want to hold you any longer.
[Footsteps Stop, Keycard Bleeps]
[Nurse] And Doctor if anything happens–use the syringe it’s enough to knock him out. If you need it. Good Luck.

[Asylum Patient] Ah, it's my favorite doctor. They’ve finally brought you back to me! It's been years my love since you were turned into the world’s favorite doctor. ‘Changing the hearts and minds of the most mentally unstable starting with the most twisted villain.’ Patient zero to your mysterious cure. Of course, you’d come back for me! Wouldn’t want to unravel your carefully woven thread.
[Asylum Patient] Now don’t be deceived I’m so so so so happy you’ve come back to see me! I’ve wanted nothing more than to see you again, smell you again, touch you again.
[Asylum Patient] Ah yes. I’ve gotten the straight-jacket with chains treatment. But hey isn’t that a step up from the muzzle? I’m rambling aren’t I? Sorry sorry my love. This is the therapy tell-all time, right? So go ahead and ask whatever you want from me, baby I’m ready.
[Asylum Patient] Oh going for my art, first eh? That’s fine with me! Ah, that one was you, of course, it looks a little off. And the other one is you too. And the next one—you know what I’ll save you the time all 20 canvas drawings are of you. Yeah, can you tell I missed you yet?
[Asylum Patient] Ah, now we get into the good stuff! So that horrified-looking lady is my...creative retelling of her last moments as a nurse. Before you bend me over the knee (I’d really like that) it's been ruled an accident that she ended up all curled up in that air vent. Rumors say it was starvation but I like to think it was the fear itself.
[Asylum Patient] Yes! I’ll tell you all about him! He was a weirdo I don’t think anyone really wanted him around so it’s not absolutely horrible he’s an absolute vegetable now. Me? I had no such thing to do with this one either. Don’t give me that look, it was a matter of a good old-fashioned asylum culling. You know, how all the nearly crazy go for the most hated inmate–excuse me, patient.
[Asylum Patient] Let’s just go to the next one ah yes, I know they keep the “incident” details confidential but I guess you could say she was the leading lady. Well, baby all I can say is that I was a key witness in it all. Yup, just an inspired witness.
[Asylum Patient] Oh, you want to know about the most recent incident, huh? Well as I’m sure you’ve been told that bossy doctor lady got a few pieces bitten out of her. In my opinion, she deserved it for all the whining she was doing, for someone who spoke about admiring you so much she sure knew how to complain. Day in, day out keeping your lovely name on her disgusting mouth. Speaking as if she was your special patient as if she knew how deeply our souls are intertwined. It was obvious she just wanted to know you as intimately as I do. But I bet if she did she’d just gossip about you. Brag to all those sheep about my favorite flaws. So jealous she would always laugh at me when I told her to stop. So disrespectful.
[Asylum Patient] She had it coming. Getting eaten to pieces. I mean it is a feat in the first place that she survived for as long as she did without the proper care.
[Asylum Patient] Wait. Did they tell you differently? Oh baby, no it's–you don’t understand. She will be by now. I wasn’t going to let her live after what she said. Heck, I probably wouldn’t have let any of those forsaken doctors live but a deal’s a deal.
[Straight Jacket and Chains Falling]
[Asylum Patient] And the jig is up
[Vault Door Unlocking]
[Nurse] Uhm the ones you wanted are all in the lounge and the patients–er friends you have been armed.
[Alarm Blares in the Distance]
[Asylum Patient] Good, I’ll just need a moment with my love. Shoo now.
[Nurse] Right. Sorry Doctor.

[Asylum Patient] I wonder do you have it in you to wrestle with me? I’m sure you do! Just like old times!
[Wrestling Ensues]
[Asylum Patient] So strong, I can barely keep up...if it wasn’t for the ace up my sleeve.
[Syringe Injecting Skin]
[Asylum Patient] Ah, your sleepy face is so cute. But you’re not the only one with a lovely little syringe. There, my love, you can rest your precious head on my lap. When you finally doze off I’ll put an end to this dreaded place and I’ll return to carry my sweet darling off into the sunset. Just wait for me, my precious doctor, your favorite patient is making all my dreams come true.

Garden Printing: Cyanotypes and Hammered Flower Prints on Fabric at Duke Campus Farm

• Visitors to Duke Campus Farm can come take a tour of the space, learn more about what is grown and why, and choose from a number of plants from the garden to experiment with two printing techniques that highlight the shape and color of fresh produce and flowers. With cyanotype printing, we will use either the plant as a silhouette to make sun prints using UV light, or make use of parts of the plants to create a composition on the blue-tinted paper.

• An exhibition featuring both abstract and figurative works by two artists with international backgrounds. The Global Tin Market Supports Positive Price Outlook
A critical shortage in tin supply is setting the stage for a positive price outlook for the commodity with deficits expected to persist in the foreseeable future.
This situation has arisen due to several factors including the lack of new tin discoveries and global events that have hindered the ability of tin miners and refiners to bring new supply into the market.
Since 1985, only four new tin mines have been put into production, now there are only a handful of operating, economic, and sustainable projects. There has been a general lack of new tin mineral exploration that has left the tin supply in desperate need of new discoveries.
The leading tin-producing nations have exhausted their near-surface high-grade tin deposits. Their mines are getting deeper, grades are declining, and operations are becoming more expensive. As a result, the London and Shanghai Metals Exchanges are experiencing historically low levels of tin supply.
China, the world’s largest tin-producing country is also the leading consumer of tin. In 2022, China accounted for approximately 30% of the global tin supply and 47% of the global tin consumption. What is alarming is that China’s tin production has consistently declined over the past 15 years which has coincided with global tin reserves being depleted over the same timeframe. According to USGS projections, this trend is expected to continue, and the supply deficit is expected to widen through 2030 and beyond.
Recent events have further impacted the global tin supply situation.
Indonesia, the second-largest tin-producing nation, has announced plans to limit or ban tin exports to create greater economic benefit within its borders by processing the metal in-country. The country’s Energy and Mining Minister, Arifin Tasrif stated, ‘What we are not allowing is exporting raw materials because these minerals are not renewable.’ The country only consumes 5% of the refined tin it produces and exports 95%. With China being the top importer of Indonesian tin bars, this would impact China’s ability to source enough tin that it needs as the largest solar panel and consumer electronics manufacturer in the world.
The third largest tin-producing nation, Myanmar, announced a mining ban to start in August 2023. Although previously thought to be uncertain, the Wa State recently released a comprehensive implementation plan for the suspension of all mining activities, demonstrating serious intent to proceed with the proposed ban. This will have devastating effects, further tightening the global tin supply. In 2022, Myanmar accounted for 77% of China’s tin ore imports with the Wa region accounting for 70% of Myanmar’s total tin production.
Minsur, the second-largest refined tin producer in the world, suspended its operations for the entirety of Q1 2023. Operations were suspended due to protests in Peru. Although the company has since resumed operations, it is likely they will continue to face disruptions for the remainder of the year.
The eight largest tin producer, EM Vinto in Bolivia, was also shut down all of Q1 2023 due to its inability to source enough coal from Peru to power its smelter. EM Vinto’s operations have resumed however, it is not out of the question that further disruptions occur due to the lack of a reliable coal supplier.
China’s Q1 2023 tin production declined. The country’s tin production was affected by lower concentrate grades and reduced tin imports from Myanmar. The country’s domestic mine feedstock grade also dropped lowering the total tin tonnes produced in the quarter. Guangxi China Tin, a major tin producer in the country was on care and maintenance for 2 months, further impacting China’s ability to contribute to the world’s global tin production.
The International Tin Association forecasts 3 scenarios based on the disruptions facing key tin-producing nations and companies; all show negative growth in global refined tin supply.
The most optimistic scenario sees a 4% decrease in refined tin supply, the neutral scenario would result in a 7% decrease in refined tin supply, and the most pessimistic scenario would lead to a 12% decrease in refined tin supply.
With so many factors inhibiting the growth in tin supply in the near and long term, the scarcity of the metal will be a catalyst for higher tin prices for the rest of the year and beyond.
The tin market is relatively small compared to other metals; any small disruption will have a large impact on the tin price.
A New Player in the Tin Space Exploring for New Sources of Tin

For context, after the ball joint failed initially, my plan was to fix the car and then sell it to pay off its loan. Due to the circumstances below I'm unsure how much I'll be able to sell the car for as it progressively gets into worse condition. Would it be worth pursuing a small claims case to try to recoup the lost value of the vehicle?

• 11/02/2023 - My 2001 IS300 has ball joint failure
  • Mechanic garage owne"friend" (referring to as MGO) offers to tow car to their garage and to help with repairs
• MGO pre-diagnoses that the car will need a couple new parts but won't know for sure until putting it on a lift for a full diagnosis
• Week later, request for an update so I know what parts need to be ordered and how much for labor
  • MGO estimates $500 but hasn't put it on the lift to check for sure
• 12/18/2023 - visit MGO shop for Christmas party, see car is still not moved
• January MGO messages about having someone interested in purchasing vehicle after it's fixed
  • Followed up with asking what parts need to be ordered, offer to come help, MGO 'thumbs up' the message but didn't reply with any information or any update on when they'd look
• 02/04/2023 - friend K goes to MGO shop and offers to look at the car and help MGO move it to diagnose
  • MGO tells friend K they'll let K know when they plan to diagnose (implying later the same week), MGO did not mention this directly to me
• 4/20/2023 - City hit with flash flooding, shop is in flood zone, car is completely flooded along with many others
• 4/21/2023 - I go visit to help strip and dry the car - MGO claims shop liability insurance but doesn't cover flooding
• 4/22/2023 - MGO claims plan to drain fluids out of the car(s) to test if the engines still work
  • Ended up doing this for a few of the other cars on the property but not with the IS300
• 5/24/2023 - At this point me and K planned to tow the car off MGO property to take it to a different shop since the car had not been worked on/moved since the flood
• 5/28/2023 - Text MGO that K and I were going to pick up the car after I got off work, ask him to set the keys at the shop
  • I have a ball joint to get the car moving
  • MGO texts me during shift that they will try to get it on the lift (did not reply)
  • 2:30 MGO texts me at the end of my shift that the car was moved (did not reply)
  • 4:30 - text MGO that K and I are on the way with a tow truck, MGO gives me gate code
  • arrive at shop, see car has new body damage since the last time I came to help dry the car
• New body damage includes:
  • Front bumper had chain marks, clips were broken off and now unable to reattach straight
  • Fender dented
  • Passenger front and rear doors had new dents and scuffs
  • Previously broken ball joint inside wheel cut through wheel when it was moved by MGO

I have text/group message logs for most of the times I asked for updates and MGO did not reply with a straight answer. I have photos of the car when it got flooded, and then after it was damaged from being moved by MGO.

Is LISK a bisexual sadist serial killer; grooming, attacking and murdering both men and women and why do few people really want to consider this?
A reasonable case for this can be made with just allowing one’s perspective to see all of the overarching evidence and challenge law enforcement’s one dimensional, myopic and hastily put together narrative.
As stated many times before, SCPD believes “Asian Male” to be an outlier, a surprise to LISK, who being all heterosexual, beat this person to death in a fit of rage. On the surface, this is a plausible assessment; that is, if there weren't any other males found in proximity (location and time), to female victims, or found in some sort of female clothing. How does that align when SCPD also has a keen eye on Andre Jamal “Sugar Bear'' Issac, going so far as to incorporate a link to the Gilgo News website, and “owning” the case, despite their torso being found in Arverne, in a female bodysuit and skirt?
The link, or links?

• Sugar Bear was a Drag Artist, well known in those circles from NY to NJ and even in the DC area.
• Sugar Bear was also arrested twice on prostitution charges.
• Sugar Bear was shot in the left temple and dismembered and disposed of in multiple locations.
• There is a lot to unpack regarding Sugar Bear. They were last seen shortly before Thanksgiving leaving their home and getting into a red BMW type sports car with “nice rims''. They were observed leaving without their coat or pocketbook. However, Sugar Bear’s torso was found clad in a black bodysuit and skirt. I would imagine that the person who last saw Sugar Bear leaving their home would have made note if they left in that skirt and bodysuit. Last Seen 11/17/2002 and torso not found until 12/2002, did LISK hold on to Sugar Bear as Dormer alluded to with the GB4?

As my research progressed, using my map, it became rather obvious to me that there was something more going on than the narrative suggests. The list of male victims I’ve compiled are not conclusive and there could very well be any number of reasons and tons of other POI’s, but if “Asian Male” and Sugar Bear and the Manorville Males are in LISK’s orbit, then so too are the men I will introduce below.
SCPD, subsequently and consistently has denied any link between the three murdered males found in Manorville, 2000, 2003 and 2012, despite being in relative proximity to Jessica Taylor and Valerie Mack (who were also found along Ocean Parkway in the Gilgo Beach area).
But, is this accurate?
Not by a long shot…..here is why…
What if LISK selected both women and men, to moderately groom and ultimately murder?
Before I get to that, I wanted to thoroughly look at Sexual Serial Killers in general. Many SK’s are compulsion killers- driven towards certain criteria and/or opportunities, but predominantly, sexually driven:

• Sam Little: preyed on sex workers and women with substance use disorders.
• Richard Cottingham: both spontaneous and opportunistic, killed women and teens.
• Dennis Rader: stalked and killed females, a family with one adult and one minor male.
• Gary Ridgeway: strangled and killed female sex workers

There are precedents of bisexual serial killers:

• Israel Keyes is particularly interesting and the true scope of his murders will never be known, but Keyes was definitively bisexual and targeted couples and sex workers. Keyes also was driven by a sexual lust that did not discriminate between the sexes. He often purchased lube and stored it in his kill caches.
• Sean Paul Hanify is a self professed bisexual serial killer who’s spree spanned from 1989-2002.
• Herbert Baumeister, married father of 3 children, is linked to 11-24 murders.

Serial killers have many overlapping traits, which seem like MO’s to the average person, but this is actually not the case. Each known serial killer is wholly unique and while there are some similarities, it is foolish to try to relegate any one of them into a box of characteristics and call it expertise, or “definitive”.
LISK clearly has a female “preference”. Petite, 5’-5’5”, 100 -110 lbs., hazel/green eyes. The “attributed” LISK Victims all share these characteristics. (Side note: less than 5% of the world’s population has hazel eyes, in the US, it’s closer to 18%). The narrative here is that it was easier to “control” smaller, lighter women, but not necessarily the case. Eye color preference is a derivative of paraphilia and may represent for LISK, a catalyst, rooted in his childhood or early developmental experiences or fantasies.
With the males we see a different trend, notably because males tend to be larger overall. But the methods of their deaths have some consistency.
For now, I will focus on just the time frame of 1990-2016. I will add background where relevant. To be fair, some of the criteria I used is lacking depth and is tenuous, however, for example, at that time, it was well known that a male wearing one earring is representing themselves as gay in many circles, whereas nowadays, it is not.
