This is the final phase of the first arc/saga of this new universe which has so far been well received. If you haven't read Phase One and Phase Two, I would welcome you to do so.

Doctor Strange: The Oath

Get a character study director on this, I like the profile of Greta Gerwig but I fear I may be overusing her.
As the title suggests, it's a faithful adaptation of the Oath storyline from the comics, a storyline very small in scale and a lot more personal than the usual Doctor Strange adventure. For the unfamiliar, the story is about an elixir that could potentially save the world from a very specific disease, one that Wong is afflicted with, and the story ends with Strange deciding to save Wong by using the last of the elixir rather than potentially save the world. We will continue to set up Nightmare as the big bad for the final Doctor Strange film, as he possesses access to the affliction the elixir cures, and sends dark sorcerors to try and retrieve the elixir so that he can infect the world, spurring the plot of this film. One of those sorcerors is Nicodemus West who we have already used in the previous Doctor Strange film, so replace him with another sorceror.
Stephen swears by his oath and saves Wong's life at the end, and him and Christine finally get together, completing their two movie arc (Christine will play a much larger role in the plot of this film too so her relationship with Stephen should tie into the main plot instead of being just a side plot thread).

The Brotherhood of Mutants 2

Continue the feud between Magneto and Doom, plants seeds of doubt in Sabretooth to the brotherhood, get Colossus more involved in finding out the Brotherhood's true nature, make Toad a proper player in the game and expand Mystique's and Rogue's characters. I don't have a proper plot in mind but these are the general goals of this film.
This is my next genre experimentation as I want Wes Anderson to direct this. Combining his distinct visual style with old Eastern Europa will create some stunning imagery, I can already see it. He can tone down the action for a more thriller-like plot if he wants to, it's all really up to him how he completes those goals.
By the end of the film, Sabretooth leaves the brotherhood, and is approached by Xavier.

Inhumans

Create a character thriller drama, to the point of it being almost theatrical, as I want this to be a mix of styles. Think of something like Matthew Warchus' Matilda: The Musical mixed with Ari Aster's Hereditary.
Black Bolt needs to be established as a top player in this universe. While the Illuminati isn't a thing yet, there should be no mistake about the fact that not only is he the king of Attilan, but the king of all Inhumans, who are revealed to the world by the end of this film. I don't have a particular plot in mind, but something within the Inhumans would be ideal as I don't want any external threats, rather making this film a self-contained story with its own characters all within its own species. I would include Medusa, Maximus, Lockjaw, Karnak, Crystal, Triton, Quake, Ms Marvel, Gorgon and Tonaja (the latter of which I think could be reworked as the primary antagonist and eventually killed).

Captain Marvel

Get a proper Captain Marvel origin story, going from her human origins all the way to her getting her powers, no real mystery but just a straight shot. Our antagonists are Mandroid and Yon-Rogg, who while they only offer a physical threat at first, must create an emotional dilemma for Carol Danvers. This is why once again we have to get a director who will focus more on characters driving the story to get some actual stakes. Mar-Vell features too, fighting alongside Carol in the final act. We have tiny roles from Nick Fury and Bruce Banner, with Bruce being accidentally ejected into space god knows where.

Iron Man: The Five Nightmares

Adapting the Five Nightmares storyline, with a legacy villain too.
Our main antagonists are Ezekiel Stane as Titanium Man and Justin Hammer's daughter, Sarah Hammer. We have MODOK and The Tinkerer too, but MODOK doesn't die, rather escaping Tony's grasp and the Tinkerer is arrested.
Tony ends his relationship with Bethany in this film because he fully accepts that he's falling for Pepper but the movie's midpoint is where Pepper turns Tony down alongside Stane and Hammer having destroyed his current armour, saying she doesn't want to make things weird and doesn't have interest in him like that. It destroys Tony until Rhodey appears for the first time in the film and gets him back on his feet, which is when Tony reveals the War Machine armour alongside a prototype for Tony's own next armour, setting up our final protagonist pairing for the rest of the film.

X-Force

This is essentially everyone trying to be in an X-Force film while Deadpool keeps trying to turn it into Deadpool 4.
Our roster is Wolverine, Deadpool, a returning Cable, Sunspot, Cannonball, Domino, Multiple Man, Warpath and Polaris, fighting against the Worthington Industries in Archangel and the Brotherhood, namely Magneto, Magik and Colossus.
Magik and Colossus change sides by the end, being freed of Magneto's indoctrination.
Wolverine sees the err in his previous actions during Age of Ultron, trying his best to stop Archangel by making him change his ways rather than killing him. However, nothing seems to work and Deadpool decapitates him, pissing Logan off. The two bicker and eventually come to blows, turning our final act into Deadpool 4 proper as its just Wolverine and Deadpool fucking the shit out of each other. The fight has no real stakes and is basically the punchline to the setup that has been present throughout the movie, but the fight before is the one with real emotional stakes.
The movie ends with Logan and Wade simultaneously decapitating each other, and then their disembodied heads roll next to each other and have a casual one-take conversation for a few minutes in which Wade declares X-Force disbanded.

Black Panther: War of the Worlds

Possessing the same sub-title as the second Namor film, this is a continuation of that story, and deals with T'Challa's death.
Basically the main plot of it is that Wakanda and Atlantis' shaky truce gets worse as time goes on, and Namor, tempted by Storm and T'Challa's absence, decides to break the truce to declare war once again: obviously this is a war crime but if Atlantis is revealed to the world then Wakanda will be too so they can do nothing but fight back.
Shuri is our protagonist and her main arc is the arc of responsibility, realising that even if she may not be ready for the throne, she must take over to defend her country as if she doesn't, Wakanda will be helpless. I will give this movie license to kill a couple of side characters such as Namora and Monica Lynne to raise stakes but it really doesn't need to happen, I just prefer if the rosters of films aren't too bloated.
The film ends with Wakanda successfully defending itself, and Shuri deciding not to go on the offensive and spare Namor's life so he can go back to his kingdom: unlike T'Challa who went on the offensive after losing his mother. All hail the queen.

Spider-Man: The First Hunt

This is an adaptation of Spider-Man: Blue, but replacing Gwen Stacy with Mary Jane Watson. Gwen does play a short role in a flashback to flesh out Peter's story. I want to play a little fast and loose with the continuity, essentially continuing Peter's story from where No Way Home left him off but never really acknowledging if its canon or not, as May is alive, Flash Thompson is a blue eye-blonde hair white guy again (not that I have a problem with Tony Revolori, he was so funny but I don't think he would be the right choice for Anti-Venom). We have Harry Osborn as the new best friend, although he as well as every other character in the film, is unaware of Spider-Man's identity. Norman is here too, set up as a big villain before he is twist-killed by the Goblin serum as he was incompatible with the formula. We also have Dr Kurt Connors in a minor role, he does nothing outside of showing up in a lab a couple times and that's it.
Our main villain is Kraven the Hunter, who hunts Spider-Man down and comes narrowly close to figuring out Spider-Man's identity using his superior tracking abilities. However, he is off by just one apartment, knocking down the apartment next to Peter's, starting our final sequence which is almost a horror sequence as Peter tries to get out of the building while Kraven is there knowing he can't handle him in tight spaces, before the actual final fight begins in which Peter eventually wins but after some great struggles.
Post-credits: Kraven is in prison when he is drugged and wakes up in a mysterious location, untied. He looks around to see Whiplash, Mysterio, and... Mastermind. Mastermind brought them all out with a purpose: to take down their enemies together, as they can do more together than they can alone.
After the other three are out of sight, Mastermind's body changes, revealing his form was actually an illusion. He is crippled, wheelchair-bound. The damage Emma Frost and Xavier did to him was real, but not fatal.

Marvel Presents: The Phoenix Force - Part One

The film opens with Jean and Scott by themselves at home, with a reveal that they now have a child named Rachel Summers. The opening set piece is Scott and Rachel running away after Jean's possession at the hands of the Phoenix becomes apparent and she nearly kills the two of them. This first film in the Phoenix Force is essentially the Dark Phoenix Saga, Jean Grey being overwhelmed and taken under the control of the Phoenix Force. She essentially becomes another Ultron-like threat, fighting everyone all by herself at one point.
This part has essentially every mutant that has appeared in the series who isn't dead alongside the debut of the Illuminati in the form of Iron Man, Namor, Professor X, Captain America, Doctor Strange, Mister Fantastic and Black Bolt. We see Sabretooth and Wolverine in the same place finally too, brothers re-uniting after decades.
The Phoenix is a lone force, forcing people like Magneto, Xavier and Captain America to all work together to stop it, putting aside their differences temporarily. However, even that is not enough to win without losses, as Nightcrawler, Thunderbird, Sabretooth, Lifeguard and Mystique all die by the midpoint of the film. Domino dies too, saying that she's lucky she doesn't have to live through this, really setting the darkness that may lie in the future. I want to create narrative reasons for their deaths but that would require a lot of intricate set-up and payoff, essentially having to write a scene-to-scene script which I don't want to right now. Sabretooth's dead crushes Logan, and he is motivated to kill Jean but him and Scott fight over it, Scott wanting to save Jean from the Phoenix than just kill her.
However, all this time, it's clear that the Phoenix is not limited to Jean as a vessel, as there are hints of yellow present in certain characters. The final battle is another one-versus-all, with the Phoenix fighting the physical threats in one realm while Xavier and Wanda fight her together in a telepathic dimension, neither able to control her mind and only facing resistance from the Phoenix, believing it to be the Phoenix using Jean's telepathy. At one point, Logan manages to get close enough to kill Jean but just as it seems like he's going to cut off her head he is lasered away by Cyclops, which gives the Phoenix enough time to re-direct a Havok blast towards Iceman, killing Bobby and sucking away Havok's power. Scott sees his best friend and brother both destroyed, and is distraught. We see some of the yellow fade from Jean's body as it seems like the Phoenix may be losing the fight against Jean, but when the camera goes back to Scott it's clear the Phoenix actually is changing its host, and Scott, clearly affected by the Phoenix, directs a gold-accented laser at Jean's neck, killing her and releasing the Phoenix Force into the world, where it concentrates into a golden flash before latching itself onto the five closest vessels it can find: Cyclops, Namor, Magik, Blink and Spider-Woman. The Phoenix Five.
Xavier tries to stop the Phoenix once again, asking Scott to let go of the power as it would corrupt him. Scott does not respond, leading to Xavier trying to open his mind, only to find that it wasn't Jean's telepathy stopping him from taking control of Jean, but rather the Phoenix Force itself, as he is only met by a laser from Cyclops to his head. After they had seemed to have finally put their differences aside after years to stop Jean, Scott kills Xavier.

Moon Knight

Get Christopher Nolan in a room, get him to read Moon Knight's All New All Different series, let him work his magic.
For the unfamiliar, Moon Knight's ANAD run is focused on mental illness and illusion more than the superhero aspect of Moon Knight. I think Nolan is possibly the best mindfuck director in the history of cinema, so he could work wonders with this concept. Complete creative freedom given to him, I don't want to taint his filmography.

Inhumans vs. X-Men

Showing more of Magneto's capability to turn people with his words, he is now the head of the Worthington company alongside Mister Sinister, and the two take a lot of known mutants, primarily from the brotherhood, and put them together into their own 'X-Men', a name which isn't owned by anyone since pretty much everyone is scrambling for power and don't really know what they're doing in the wake of the Phoenix Five. Cyclops and Blink are recruited too, but keep their involvement secret from the other three in the Phoenix Five.
This X-Men team is tasked by Magneto with taking down the Inhumans who he sees as mutantkind's biggest threat, this acting as our arc ender for the Inhumans as they don't play a big role in the Phoenix Force storyline.
Inhumans: Black Bolt, Medusa, Maximus, Karnak, Lockjaw, Crystal, Quake (dies), Triton, Dazzler
'X-Men': Magneto, Phoenix Cyclops, Phoenix Blink, Beast, Toad, Rogue, Quicksilver (switches sides)
Attilan does lose Quake but manage to fend off the Brotherhood by defeating Phoenix Blink and proving they can't be defeated just yet.

Marvel Presents: The Phoenix Force - Part Two

The Phoenix Five essentially hold the world hostage, their great power causing fear amongst everyone. This is where we finally get Krakoa as a haven for mutants, ruled over by the Phoenix Five.
After the events of the Inhumans vs. X-Men, Black Bolt talks to the rest of the now expanded Illuminati: Iron Man, Captain America, Doctor Strange, Beast, Mister Fantastic and Black Panther, and they agree that the next infringement from a Phoenix Five member must result in response. Sure enough, Phoenix Namor, separated from Atlantis after his Phoenix powering, tries to regain his kingdom, and this is the last straw.
Cyclops and Iron Man talk, and Cyclops gets angry before the two fight and eventually Tony is forced to flee, knowing Cyclops will win. The Phoenix Five decide to go on the offensive against the Avengers, and that's the rest of our plot: Avengers vs X-Men. Of course this is different, as the 'X-Men' is really just the Phoenix Five while the Avengers include non-Phoenix Five mutants.
The Phoenix Five arrive at the Future Foundation building and decimate it, with Ben and Johnny sacrificing themselves so that Reed and Sue can get away. By then, Captain Marvel arrives, sensing a great cosmic force and holds the Phoenix Five in place for some time before the rest of the Avengers and mutants come, starting our final big battle.
Cyclops is fixated on loss after losing Jean, and focuses on the closer pairs, and the Phoenix Five eventually succeeding in killing Captain Britain (brother of Psylocke), Scarlet Witch (sister of Quicksilver) and Colossus (sister of Magik).
Magik does not realise that Colossus was a target too, and when she sees him die something clicks in her as he cries out to her for help. A seed of doubt. Cable goes to defend Colossus although he knows he is too late, and is attacked by Magik, although Cable is just able to block it, before he is killed by Spider-Woman from behind, who looks at Magik with suspicion - it was clear she was holding back. Storm and Shadowcat are trapped around three members of the Phoenix Five while the others try crowd control, and the two try their best but are outmatched, and they die too.
However, the heroes finally strike first blood when Iron Man uses one of Blink's portals against her and fires a Unibeam through it, hurting and distracting her before Black Bolt finally speaks for the first time, destroying her body. Magik manages to break free of the Phoenix spell after an internal struggle, but the Phoenix Force realises this and immediately kills her from the inside, but not before Magik manages to suck the power from Namor and Spider-Woman into herself. The explosion of power fractures the force into nothingness, leaving just the last piece of it inhabited within Cyclops.
Phoenix Cyclops fights harder than ever but is eventually halted by Rachel, his daughter. He hesitates but continues to fight nonetheless, although it is once again clear that Scott may have one hand on the wheel as he always seems to miss Rachel. Eventually Black Panther manages to get a vibranium cover over Scott's eyes which he takes a minute to get off, time in which the Phoenix Force works on pure instinct in fighting everyone off. Scott finally gets it off and tries to fight again but stops in place and clutches his heart. The camera moves into Scott's body to reveal the Wasp blocking an artery, and she expands out of Scott, killing him and releasing the last of the Phoenix Force which Doctor Strange contains within a mirror cage before its destroyed by a combination of a lot of people's powers.
Post-Credits: Reed and Sue re-form the Future Foundation, not as a building but as a team, with Wolverine and the Wasp joining.
That brings us to the end of The Phoenix Arc, the first of three arcs of this universe. The Phoenix came and was destroyed. The mutants peaked but lost their leaders, the Avengers and Illuminati were formed, the Inhumans were revealed to the heroes, and the Fantastic Four came together and were destroyed.

I wasn’t serious about cycling until a few years ago when I started crit racing after moving to Austin, TX. For the uninitiated, the riding scene here is unparalleled. Me and the boys could go head to head with the best crit meatbags in the country and win from the breakaway with 38 mm thicksliccs and flat bars. Just come race cat 5s at the driveway and find out. We’re all putting in 5 hour training weeks and absolutely shredding the bike delivery market.
Anyway, when I first started riding seriously, I wanted to go BIG, but I knew I had to get my nutrition dialed if I was going to go the distance (🤣🤣🤣). My goal was to ride TWO HOURS uninterrupted on the road bike. I know this seems unrealistic, but hear me out: I come from a long line of athletes who have always been a bit…unhinged when it comes to physical activity (🤣🤣🤣). My dad recently ran 10k in 50 minutes, and my mom does Pilates once a week. Trust me when I say it runs in the family.
So in preparation for my race, I consulted my bro who races on the delivery scene with me in Austin. He told me it wasn’t going to be possible without bringing A LOT of food. I was taken aback because I’ve never carried much food with me on the bike, how would I succeed with three sandwiches strapped to my top tube (🤣🤣🤣)? He said, no bro, you carry sugar supplements called GUs, let me show you.
He took me to Mellow Johnny’s and showed me the Gu wall. If youve never been, the Gu wall is a 15 ft x 15 ft wall covered in GU GEAR at Mellow J’s, the only bike shop in Austin that I know of. The reflective packages, shimmering like fishing lures, immediately had me hooked (🤣🤣🤣). I said, wow bro, what’s the right flavor choice for me? He responded, I like the consistency of vanilla kind, it’s kind of like a sweet cream that you just wanna slurp down by the gallon, you know? I like to squirt it on my face sometimes, too. I said, wow really? That’s hardcore, enough said bro. I then bought 60 of the vanilla flavor.
Fast forward two weeks to the day of the race: we’re sitting at the east side Target (our usual pre-ride hangout spot) and I’m insanely nervous. My whole family is there to send me off and they all have signs saying “Go Drew, beat cancer!” (My name is drew and I told them it was for fighting cancer or something). My jersey pockets are loaded to the brim with vanilla gu and I set off, feeling nervous but confident.
Thirty minutes into the race, ive gone 4 miles and my heat rate is JACKED up to 195. I’m pushing big watts and sweating profusely. People on the sidewalks are looking at my Gu-stuffed jersey in awe as it bounces lustily with each pedal stroke. I’ve already had 15 of the 40 GUs I was intending to consume over the course of the ride, but now I’m wondering if I brought enough.
By the time I make it to an hour and forty five minutes, my Gu stash I nearly depleted and I only have 5 left. But as I nervously squeezed one of the few remaining bags into my face hole, something happened. Some of the Gu squirted out onto my bibs and top tube and I was immediately incapacitated by a primal sexual urge. The milky syrup awakened something in me that I didn’t know was there, and my life was forever changed. I had to pull over 4 times after that (🤣🤣🤣) but was eventually able to cumplete the race (6 hours total time) by adhering strictly to my nutrition strategy. When I got back to Target, my family congratulated me on beating cancer (🤣🤣🤣idiots) and my mom gave me a ride to the Corazon where I live.
Six months later and vanilla Gu is 100% of my diet and my preferred lubricant for my chain and other things. Next time you’re in Mellow Johnnys, go over to the Gu wall and pick up 30 or 40 of the vanillas, you won’t be disappointed!!!

In my life, I’ve learned the depths to which tyrants will go to keep their power. After the war against the Federation, almost everyone had. For centuries, the Federation had lied, manipulated, stolen, murdered, done anything no matter the moral cost, to keep its citizens in its grasp, to stay in control. But they made one fatal mistake, one misstep that would loosen their hold on their slaves just long enough for someone to step in and challenge them. That mistake was angering Mankind.
When the dust had settled and the bullets had stopped flying, the UN found treasure troves of stolen knowledge all across the home-systems of the founders of the Federation, the Kolshians and Farsul. Endless libraries of atrocities done and culture stolen, of memories erased and lives destroyed. So much irreversible damage done just to keep their people locked in mental chains.
This is why early in life I decided to become a historian. I wanted to uncover and reintroduce the cultures, ideas, and truths that the Federation had wanted to burn to ash. At the age of 19, I was accepted into the then newly opened Meiers Institute of Knowledge. MIK was named after the former leader of the UN, a man who was described as compassionate and caring by nearly everyone who met him, said to be a hero. The MIK was built to let those ideas blossom forth, by providing unrestricted knowledge and education to anyone that wanted it.
During my time at MIK, because of the instruction and guidance provided by my teachers, my distrust of non-humans slowly faded. I made friends and learned things I would remember for the rest of my days. Several years later I reluctantly left the college that had become my home with a doctorate in history.
I’m now 31 years old, and several days ago I received a message from the UN Office of the Historian, stating that I and several others had been invited to the new capitol building on Aafa for a special job offering.

As I wake, I notice how cold I feel.[Had I left the window open last night?] I think to myself. I rub my eyes and grab for my blanket, only managing to grab a handful of cloth from my shirt. I open my eyes to properly aim for the blanket this time only to witness an empty room.
No… That isn’t the correct way to describe it…This isn’t an empty room, this is the lack of a room. All around me is nothing but darkness.
I try to lift myself off my bed only to realize there is nothing beneath me. I’m the only matter that I can see in this void.
[What the fuck. What the fuck!?]
I begin panicking as my brain fully switches on, only now am I fully awake and aware of my situation. I flail my limbs around, trying to turn myself around to no avail as I float through the emptiness. I try to take in a breath only to inhale nothing. Vivid memories of nearly drowning at a vacation by the beach fill my mind. The space in my brain is packed full of questions by now.
[Wha- what the hell is happening? Where’s the air? How am I alive? Is this a dream?]
I begin calming down, wildly flailing my arms and legs is going to do nothing for me. A glow begins illuminating the backside of my arms, heating them like warm sunlight. I try to turn around, somehow managing to do so this time.
Light sears itself into my very soul as I stare forward at the object before me. I am seated at the edge of a star, its radiance beaming itself onto me as if it is some divine judge weighing the sins of my heart. Tendrils of superheated plasma ripple around it, like arms through water, effortlessly keeping the orb afloat.
A thunderous whisper echoes through the twisting and winding corridors of my mind. Paradoxically seeming both deafening and silent simultaneously. It is in a language I have never heard before and yet I understand the message all the same.
“Find us. We await.”

For the second time today, I wake up. This time I am in my warm bed in my home on Venlil Prime. The memory of the star does not fade away, as the imagery in my dreams usually do.
I stretch and drag my legs off the side of the bed, acclimating my eyes to the ever-present twilight of the Venlil homeworld. I grab a picture frame holding an old photo of me and my parents off my bedside table. Their smiles warming me slightly. I hug the picture-frame into my chest. It’s been 3 years but I still miss them every day. “I wish you were still here, so much. I hope I made you proud.”
I perform my daily routine and get myself tidy before putting on my clothes. Today is the day that the UN is sending a ship to pick me up. I've gotta look my best if I’m gonna be meeting such important people. I walk through the main hallway of my house, glancing at the art adorning the walls as I pass by. Ever since the knowledge that the Federation has been performing cultural genocide for centuries became public, the market for historians and other professions tasked with discovering the past sky-rocketed. Despite the high pay though, my house was relatively small. A bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, and some various utility and storage rooms was all I needed. I didn’t need a fancy living-space, that wasn’t what made me happy. What made me happy was the work I was doing for the people of the Coalition. Bringing back art and stories from ancient times, reintroducing species to a past and culture that they could be proud of. THAT was what fueled me.
I looked at my holopad and realized I only had 15 minutes before my ship arrived at the spaceport. I hurriedly filled a reusable cup with coffee and rushed out the door, no time for breakfast. I hopped in my car, buckled my seatbelt, turned my key, and backed out of the driveway onto the street, speeding down the road as fast as the anti-grav engine in my car would allow me. There is no way I’m missing an opportunity like this.
As I drove, the spaceport came into view. It towered above all the buildings surrounding it, making them seem miniscule in comparison. Ships swarmed around the structure like bees around a hive, loading and unloading cargo and passengers alike.
5 minutes.
I drew into a parking space in the underground garage. Removing my key and deactivating my vehicle. I slammed the door shut perhaps a little too hard and locked the doors with my keyfob as I sprinted towards the elevators to the top of the port. It took the lift around 50 seconds to travel nearly 300 stories into the sky. I bolted out of the barely opened doors, startling a Venlil couple and nearly knocking over an older looking man wearing a suit. I blurted out an apology and quickly said I was late before dashing off, the man looking more confused than annoyed.
I took a quick look at my holopad. 2 minutes. As I ran, I glanced at the signage on the walls. 587 588 589 560! I made my way into the hangar, straightening out my tie as I walked through the doors. I tried to hide how out of breath I was, these suits were not made for running. The ship was sleek and quite large, undoubtedly suited for luxury purposes, the UN did not spare any expense for its guests it seemed.
I walked up the boarding ramp and as the airlock opened, a man stood there to greet me. He was an older gentleman, slightly taller than me. He smiled and outstretched his hand. “Hello, I take it that you’re James! The ship is ready for you to depart. My name is Harold and I’ll be your attendant for the flight. ”He spoke enthusiastically with a southern drawl. I grasped the man’s hand and shook it. “I hope I didn’t take too long to arrive.” “Don’t worry son, you’re fine. It’ll take a couple days to reach Aafa so make yourself comfortable, down the hall behind me is the bar, lounge, and eating area, and further down are the sleeping quarters with accompanying bathrooms. ”Before I could respond, Harold spoke again. “There’ll be another passenger onboard, allow me to take you to them.”
The man stepped aside and followed as I walked down the hall to the lounge. The room was quite large, filled with expensive looking furniture and art. To my right was a small dining table and beyond that a kitchen. I looked to my left and felt my heart skip a beat as I locked eyes with a small Venlil with speckled white wool and orange eyes. She stared back, looking equally shocked.
“Lemva?”

Emotion:
An involuntary reaction due to an active complex.

On the one hand, emotion is the alchemical fire whose warmth brings everything into existence and whose heat burns all superfluities to ashes (omnes superfluitates comburit). But on the other hand, emotion is the moment when steel meets flint and a spark is struck forth, for emotion is the chief source of consciousness. Affect:
Emotional reactions marked by physical symptoms and disturbances in thinking. (See also complex and feeling.) Affect is invariably a sign that a complex has been activated.

Affects occur usually where adaptation is weakest, and at the same time they reveal the reason for its weakness, namely a certain degree of inferiority and the existence of a lower level of personality. Feeling:
The psychological function that evaluates or judges what something or someone is worth.
A feeling is as indisputable a reality as the existence of an idea. [“The Psychology of the Transference,” CW 16, par. 531.]
The feeling function is the basis for “fight or flight” decisions. As a subjective process, it may be quite independent of external stimuli. In Jung’s view it is a rational function, like thinking, in that it is decisively influenced not by perception (as are the functions of sensation and intuition) but by reflection. A person whose overall attitude is oriented by the feeling function is called a feeling type.
In everyday usage, feeling is often confused with emotion. The latter, more appropriately called affect, is the result of an activated complex. Feeling not contaminated by affect can be quite cold.
Feeling is distinguished from affect by the fact that it produces no perceptible physical innervations, i.e., neither more nor less than an ordinary thinking process. [“Definitions,” CW 6, par. 725.]
Complex:
An emotionally charged group of ideas or images. (See also Word Association Experiment.)
[A complex] is the image of a certain psychic situation which is strongly accentuated emotionally and is, moreover, incompatible with the habitual attitude of consciousness.[“A Review of the Complex Theory,” CW 8, par. 201.]
The via regia to the unconscious . . . is not the dream, as [Freud] thought, but the complex, which is the architect of dreams and of symptoms. Nor is this via so very Z”royal,” either, since the way pointed out by the complex is more like a rough and uncommonly devious footpath.[ Ibid., par. 210.]
Formally, complexes are “feeling-toned ideas” that over the years accumulate around certain archetypes, for instance “mother” and “father.” When complexes are constellated, they are invariably accompanied by affect. They are always relatively autonomous.
Complexes interfere with the intentions of the will and disturb the conscious performance; they produce disturbances of memory and blockages in the flow of associations; they appear and disappear according to their own laws; they can temporarily obsess consciousness, or influence speech and action in an unconscious way. In a word, complexes behave like independent beings.[“Psychological Factors in Human Behaviour,” ibid., par. 253.]
Complexes are in fact “splinter psyches.” The aetiology of their origin is frequently a so-called trauma, an emotional shock or some such thing, that splits off a bit of the psyche. Certainly one of the commonest causes is a moral conflict, which ultimately derives from the apparent impossibility of affirming the whole of one’s nature.[“A Review of the Complex Theory,” ibid., par. 204.]
Everyone knows nowadays that people “have complexes.” What is not so well known, though far more important theoretically, is that complexes can have us.[Ibid., par. 200.]
Jung stressed that complexes in themselves are not negative; only their effects often are. In the same way that atoms and molecules are the invisible components of physical objects, complexes are the building blocks of the psyche and the source of all human emotions.
Complexes are focal or nodal points of psychic life which we would not wish to do without; indeed, they should not be missing, for otherwise psychic activity would come to a fatal standstill.[“A Psychological Theory of Types,” CW 6, par. 925.]
Complexes obviously represent a kind of inferiority in the broadest sense . . . [but] to have complexes does not necessarily indicate inferiority. It only means that something discordant, unassimilated, and antagonistic exists, perhaps as an obstacle, but also as an incentive to greater effort, and so, perhaps, to new possibilities of achievement.[Ibid., par. 925.]
Some degree of one-sidedness is unavoidable, and, in the same measure, complexes are unavoidable too.[“Psychological Factors in Human Behaviour,” CW 8, par. 255.]
The negative effect of a complex is commonly experienced as a distortion in one or other of the psychological functions (feeling, thinking, intuition and sensation). In place of sound judgment and an appropriate feeling response, for instance, one reacts according to what the complex dictates. As long as one is unconscious of the complexes, one is liable to be driven by them.
The possession of complexes does not in itself signify neurosis . . . and the fact that they are painful is no proof of pathological disturbance. Suffering is not an illness; it is the normal counterpole to happiness. A complex becomes pathological only when we think we have not got it.[“Psychotherapy and a Philosophy of Life,” CW 16, par. 179.]
Identification with a complex, particularly the anima/animus and the shadow, is a frequent source of neurosis. The aim of analysis in such cases is not to get rid of the complexes-as if that were possible-but to minimize their negative effects by understanding the part they play in behavior patterns and emotional reactions.
A complex can be really overcome only if it is lived out to the full. In other words, if we are to develop further we have to draw to us and drink down to the very dregs what, because of our complexes, we have held at a distance.[“Psychological Aspects of the Mother Archetype,” CW 9i, par. 184.]

Hi, can anybody please say how long does the Galaxy Watch 5 44mm LTE last while using running activity with LTE, GPS and HR measurement enabled and Bluetooth, AOD, assistant and other unimportant stuff disabled? Will it survive at least for 5 hours of continuous activity? Or at least how long GPS activity does it take to go down for example by 10%? I got back to long distance running after some injuries and I have got used to WearOS in the meantime, so I'd like to stay with it. I know there is the 5 Pro version but it is circa 170% of the price of the non-pro where I live which is quite a lot for me atm. Also, how much does listening to downloaded music over YT Music speed up the draining? I can still use the old TicWatch as secondary watch for music but still it is good to know.

Sorry. This will be a but long as it spans over 10 years.
Backstory: 2012 15 year old, deeply insecure girl (me, now 26 F) meets equally insecure 18 yo boy (now 29 M). She falls in love like never before and never after. Takes 14 months to gather up the courage to tell him. He says no, is too preoccupied with other things/lives too far away.
2014 She (tries to) move on, but they still talk and despite having a stable, loving relationship with someone else, she finds herself occasionally falling back for him in a span of multiple years.
2018 However, she ignores those feelings and goes on living her life, moving even further away. The contact becomes a bit less intense. Speaking about feelings is utterly forbidden anyway, as it will turn the conversation the wrong way and end up awkward/in fighting. As happens more than they both would like.
2021 On a certain moment when they meet up again, the boy, now a 27 year old man, believes she is single as she does not mention anything about a relationship. He confesses he is in love with her. Even more so, he regrets turning her down all those years ago, as he has been and has remained in love with her all this time. He just didn't want to disturb her while she clearly found happiness with someone else and was working on her dream. She tells him she has a relationship and is polyamourous. He doesnt take that well. She is very hurt. They stop talking for years as it is too painful and confusing for the both of them.
2023 11 years after the initial meeting, big changes occur in her life and she feels a need to share them with him. Weirdly enough, it feels like they never stopped talking at all. They have, however, matured and are able to approach certain subjects much more rationally and respectfully.
Due to those changes, she ends up single. For the first time in a decade. Inevitably, this turns the conversation to the subject of feelings and whereas previously it would end up in fighting, they are finally able to approach the subject as adults.
He restates he has always been and still feels attracted to her, which is the main reason he distanced himself from her. He doesn't know if he is in love with her yet. They even talk about the physical part of relationships, without turning the conversation awkward. He says he is also physically attracted to her. They sext and (Due to distance) end up having phone sex. He is also sorry for turning her down and causing so much confusion. She confirms feeling the same way.
Issue now: Nevertheless, they realise they have grown from careless teenagers into rational adults. They are living different lives and have different goals. The physical distance has only grown bigger and acting on their feelings would not make any sense at all.
Furthermore, as beautiful as the story is, there are some "icks" that bother me and this is why I have come to reddit looking for support. He is 29 and does not have any prior relationship experience. We still need to have the "polyamourous" talk again and while he has stated to be willing to "accept and respect" it, I am very very very afraid I will end up being hurt again, DESPITE our changed style of approaching problems. Last but not least, I am not sure if a relationship with him is what I want now, or if it's something I'd act upon because I wanted it a decade ago. I am afraid he doesnt fit in the life I built for myself. I am afraid the distance will turn out to be a problem, as it always has. I am just afraid of it all going wrong and losing my oldest and closest friend in the process, letting go of all the sweet illusions about us that I've kept hadden away for years.
TL;DR: friend who I have been secretly in love with for over 10 years appeared to always have been in love with me too. • Sucks up a falling item, shoots it away a distance, and causes it to destroy half of a large rock sphere^LM

Functions

• The vacuum head has a torch function that can quickly be switched out in order to suck up ghosts
• By sucking up different elemental ghosts, the Poltergust can spit out said element
  • Fire elemental ghosts make the Poltergust a flamethrower^LM
  • Water elemental ghosts allow large amounts of water to be sprayed, quickly putting out a burning door^LM
  • Ice elemental ghosts make the Poltergust spew a freezing gas^LM

The Poltergust Luigi obtained from E. Gadd's car in Luigi's Mansion 3 which has a range of abilities on top of the basic functions presented with earlier models.

• Sucks up a duvet and pillows^LM-3
• Sends explosive barrels rolling forwards^LM-3
• Carries around a Toad and shoots them over a wall^LM-3
  • Shoots a Toad with enough force to make them rebound off of walls several times, and to break through brick walls^LM-3
• With the Super Suction upgrade, the Poltergust can be plugged into special outlets to greatly increase its power. Like this, it breaks apart the front half of a ship as well as the front of the wall behind it to suck it up^LM-3
  • Uses this mode to break apart a platform, a music desk, a number of large speakers, and a brick wall^LM-3

Tish recognized the number on the caller I.D. lt was Ol Shiloh. He'd been a paratrooper in Vietnam, and he came back stateside without so much of a scratch on him physically. Mentally? He saw "gooks" (Ol Shiloh's completely politically incorrect term for the Viet Cong as well as the eponymous Charlie) at the bottom of the basement stairs and in the shower waiting for him to enter the bathroom. As a little girl, Tish knew Ol Shiloh had a good heart but a feeble mind. His visual and auditory hallucinations made him the laughing stock of many of Eerie's child residents who pointed, snickered, and rolled their finger at the side of their temple, indicating he was crazier than a shithouse rat. Ol Shiloh sounded legitimately scared when he called, though. This was not an emotion Tish was familiar with. Nothing rattled Ol Shiloh even with his advanced case of post-traumatic stress disorder. He'd known Tish's parents, and? Oddities aside? Ol Shiloh was a good man. So? Speaking to him had never presented a challenge until today, and, Oh, what a challenge it was...
"Eerie 911. Will this be police, fire, or medical?" Tish had picked up on the 2nd ring. "Ginny? Ginny Lynn? Is that you? " The normally loquacious Shiloh queried. "Shiloh? Hey! Is everything okay?" Tish inquired. Tish was the nickname given to her by her boyfriend, Craig, who Ginny never called by that name. His nickname was Gomez. They were the local Halloween decorating contest champions and adored everything scary, thus the nicknames given to each: Gomez and Morticia from Addams family fame. "Naw, Ginny girl. Ain't okay at all." Ol Shiloh was not himself. "What's happening?" Tish's mounting concern was palpable. "Nothing right now. It was last night." Ol Shiloh spoke, barely above a whisper. Remaining ever so patient, Tish replied, "What happened last night, Shiloh? You don't sound like yourself, and it's worrying me." "Ginny, don't you worry your pretty lil head about me. Harry & Virginia did a fine job raising you. Guess it didn't take in your lil sister, considering she turned out to be the town doorknob. Everybody's had a turn at that girl." Granted, Ol Shiloh was never known to mince his words, but this was strong even for him. What was even worse? He wasn't wrong. Time to get him reigned back in. "Well, I don't think you called to talk to me about my sister's promiscuity. What's going on with you, Shiloh?" Tish was sensing his reluctance to just "spit it out. " It was as if he was having 2nd thoughts about placing the call to begin with. "I had visitors last night." Shiloh barely spoke above a whisper. "Visitors?" Tish queried. Ol Shiloh never had visitors. Hell, he'd been living all by himself every sense Rose died. His saintly wife was married to him 50 years, only a month before she passed away from a fatal heart attack. To say Ol Shiloh was lost? That was an understatement. Shiloh was nothing without Rose. He met her in August of 68, right after he came back stateside from Vietnam in May of that same year. It was love at 1st sight for Ol Shiloh, but Rose needed convincing. She mistakenly thought Shiloh was "a Mama's boy" because he worshipped the ground Rose walked on. He was not. He was simply in love for the 1st and last time. Tish was really surprised with how well Ol Shiloh was able to pull through the 2nd roughest time in his life with the aid of Eerie's townsfolk. And? As Elton John famously quoted? When it comes to Ol Shiloh? I'm still standing. This? This was different. This was not the Shiloh she'd known for the last 53 years of her life. "Ginny, they were kids. Well, they looked like kids, but..." Ol Shiloh trailed off. He shut down again. "Looked like kids? What made you think they weren't kids, Shiloh?" Tish was nervous and ancy. This felt wrong. Something was off. "There were 2 of them. A boy, dark hair, pale skin, and probably about 12 years old. He had a lil girl with him about 7, also dark hair & pale skin." Shiloh was intrepid. Tish quietly listened as Gomez and some of the other deputies were laughing in the office behind her. She gave them a scornful look, and the guys piped down. "They'd knocked at my front door about an hour after the sun went down. I didn't have the porch light on. The screen door was shut and locked, but the wooden door was open. I turned the porch light on so I could see them better. They were both looking down at their feet. The boy whispered something but I couldn't hear, so I asked him to speak up," Shiloh let the flood gates burst forward. "Sir? May we use your phone? We've gotten lost and are scared. We need to call our mother. Please, let us in." The dark-haired boy requested. "I've not seen you kids around here before in my life. Who's your parents?" Shiloh knew everyone in Eerie, Indiana, but he'd never seen these odd looking kids. "Sir? Please, let us in. We need to call our mother. She'll be so worried." The dark-haired boy practically recited word for word what he'd already previously said, which really riled Shiloh up. "Boy, you deaf?", I asked, "Who's your folks?" Shiloh continued to give Tish the play by play. "Sir? Please. We are cold. We are hungry and we are scared. Please, let us in." The dark-haired boy sounded rehearsed and mechanical. "NO! There's something not right here." Ol Shiloh didn't survive a hot tour in the jungle because he didn't have good instincts. "Sir, please, if you could just let us in." The little dark-haired girl then chimed in. Ol Shiloh knew instinctively not to trust these 2 but found himself being drawn to them paradoxically. His hand reached for the storm door to open it even though every fiber in his being told him not to. "What the hell are you kids cause you ain't human?!" Ol Shiloh was more nervous now than when he was a tunnel rat. Both children looked up and to Shiloh simultaneously. What he saw scared him worse than any night he'd spent in jungle. Their eyes were black, not just the pupil. The Iris, cornea, and pupil were all black but not just any black. The deepest black, pure obsidian. The answers to all of the galaxy's most burning questions were in those pitch black bottomless depth eyes. "Shiloh Svengaard, let us IN!" both children stared into Shiloh's pale milky blue eyes as he stared back into their black ones. "NO. NO, NOW GO AWAY!" Shiloh slammed the wooden door and locked it. He watched as the black eyed children walked to the end of his driveway and onto James Dean Boulevard. They went off into the night and Ol Shiloh didn't see them anymore. "So, you thought they'd return?" Tish was a tad overwhelmed. Ol Shiloh had audio and visual hallucinations but it was always fellow soldiers, the Viet Cong or the North Vietnamese Army. It sure as hell wasn't black eyed tweens. "Ginny girl, I don't think they'll return. I know it. They're coming for me. I know they are." Delusions of persecution certainly isn't anything new to Tish when it came to Ol Shiloh but this was different. Shiloh was full of doubt and self defeat. Never in his life had Ol Shiloh backed down from a fight. This? This was uncharted territory. "Want Don to swing by on patrol tonight? Craig and I are having a lil evening out so he won't be on. Don would be glad to do it, Shiloh. Really." Comforting and reassuring Ol Shiloh was Tish's main concern at the moment. "Yeah, Ginny Girl. Have Don cruise by my place if he would. Maybe a patrol car will keep these evil fucking little bastards away from me and my house. Best part of those lil sons a bitches dripped down their Mama's leg when she was getting pregnant with 'em!" Ol Shiloh always had a way with words. "Okay. I'll tell him but remember to use the non emergency line next time, Shiloh. Can't tie 911 up with non emergent calls." Tish gently scolded. "Fuck that non emergency number, Ginny girl! It prompts me to press 1 for English and 2 for the ESPENOIL (pronounced ESPN OIL) and bullshit! I just call 911 and get ahold of you!" Shiloh wasn't about to call an automated line. That just wasn't how he did things. Tish was the one that could handle his problems. She was the good sister. "Okay, okay, Shiloh. I'll tell Don. You just take it from me. Rose wouldn't want to see you like this." Tish was truly concerned. "Ginny girl, my Rosie can't see anything anymore." And with that? He hung up the phone. The guys were still hanging out in the office, albeit much quieter. "Sorry 'bout that. We didn't know you were on the phone. We wouldn't have been telling jokes if we knew you were on the phone." Gomez sheepishly looked down at the table where he was seated with 2 other deputies, Don & Bubba. "It wouldn't have mattered. Ol Shiloh was ranting so much he didn't even hear you guys." Tish dismissed. "Ol Shiloh? What put a hair across his ass?" Don asked. "He said 2 kids came by last night about an hour after dark, wanting to be let in the house. He was uncharacteristically afraid. He said they just kept repeating to let them in so they could call their mother. He felt something was off, something wasn't right." Tish trailed off. "Kids? Whose kids?" Gomez spoke up. "He didn't know. He even asked the kids who their parents were but they just kept asking to come in the house." Tish replied. "Anyway, he said when he really got scared was when both kids looked up at him and their eyes were black. Their eyes were completely black." Tish kept relaying everything Ol Shiloh told her. Gomez, Don & Bubba looked at her as if she'd grown a 2nd head. "I'm just telling you what he said." Tish defended. "When he saw those black eyes? He panicked, slammed and locked the wooden door and told them to go away. They did." Tish finished. "So what does Lt. Dan want us to do with a couple of kids with colored contacts pranking the local crazy Vietnam Vet?" Don sighed. "I offered for you to swing by his place on patrol tonight. He was pleased with that." Tish informed. "FFS. Fine. Bubba and I can swing by a few times tonight as long as it shuts that old crazy bastard up." Don resigned to his fate. "You know, Don? No one will ever accuse you of being too caring." Tish just rolled her eyes. "BTW? What was the joke you guys were laughing at?" Tish suddenly remembered. "There was a young Indian warrior who asked the tribe's chief one day how he decided on all of the babies' names when they were born since he was given the honor of naming all of the children"... Bubba began. "He said, "My son, if there is an eagle flying over when a child is being born? I call that child Eagle Flying Over. If there is snow gently falling when a child is being born? I call that child Snow Gently Falling, but tell me, Two Dogs Fucking, why do you ask?" Bubba finished to a 2nd round of uproarious laughter. "For Christ's sake, Bubba. You ain't got a lick of sense!" Gomez wiped a tear of laughter from his eye and proceeded to leave he and Don in charge while he and Tish left for the day.
They got into the SUV and headed towards the Blue Bayou Creole restaurant. Most quaint and quirky hometowns have that one little restaurant everyone loves. The Blue Bayou was Eerie, Indiana's version. The seafood buffet on Friday nights were always a hit. As much as Tish & Gomez were home bodies? They did enjoy an occasional night at the Blue Bayou.
Bubba and Don drank coffee and told more dirty jokes. Swinging by Ol Shiloh's place a few times tonight will help break up the monotony. Poor ol bastard didn't mean any harm. He was just messed up in the head. Kids with all black eyes? What the hell was that all about, anyway?
Ol Shiloh really wanted to believe Tish. He really did. He knew, deep down inside, if Ginny, Craig and the boys at Eerie PD couldn't help him? No one could. Well, he has his shot gun on the rack, but who would threaten to shoot children? He saw enough of that shit cleaning out villages of their denizens back in jungle. He never intended to live that kind of hell, again. Strange looking kids or not, they still at least looked like kids. He just couldn't bring himself to shoot a child.
He was nodding off in his recliner. The sun was dipping below the horizon.
Tish & Gomez sat and ate and caught up with the day's activities. "Ol Shiloh was really that scared, huh?" Gomez asked Tish in a low voice so others couldn't overhear. "Yeah. Yeah, he was. It was unsettling." Tish was clearly still bothered. "I'll remind Don later on tonight when I check in, I promise." Gomez reassured. "Please, do. I've never heard fear in his voice before. It's really got me shook." Tish slowly relaxed and let the stress melt away as she took another spoonful of gumbo. "Consider it done." Gomez smiled and began eating as well.
Was it a knock? He couldn't be sure. The house was dark but Shiloh knew his own home. He slowly got up from the recliner and proceeded to the door. Could it be? He hoped not. Even as much as he knew those little demons were going to return? He had really hoped he'd be wrong. One quick look through the glass of the wooden door proved he was not. There they were: same dark-haired pale boy and girl but there was something different this time. There was a 3rd party out there but the darkness prevented him from making out who it was. This 3rd party was taller and bigger, clearly an adult but that was the only clear thing.
"Please, Shiloh, let us in. We're cold. We're hungry. Our mother is worried." Both children said in unison. The 3rd party waited in the wings. "I don't know you little mother fuckers so how did you know my name?" Shiloh raged. He was still scared but more angry now.
"Rosie told us." Both children simultaneously chirped happily.
Wait, what? Rosie? Rosie as in my Rosie? The Rosie I cruelly lost just 4 January's ago? "ROSIE? What the hell you mean Rosie?" Ol Shiloh thought that he'd lost what little mind he had left. Just then? Something happened that flipped Ol Shiloh's world upside down.
"Shiloh Shenandoah? Is that you, my love?" Rosie. It was Rosie. Bigger than shit, it was his beloved wife of over 50 years. How, though? It couldn't be. He saw her on the slab in the morgue when he had to identify her. It couldn't be. She was 4 years in the ground! Yet, there she stood behind the black eyed children looking at him with the same set of obsidian black eyes.
"Rosie? That can't be you. You died a month after our 50th wedding anniversary! You've been gone 4 years!" Ol Shiloh's mind was reeling and he didn't know what to do.
"Don't you love me, anymore, my dear? I thought you'd be so happy to see me." Rosie smiled a smile that would have otherwise been beautiful if it weren't sitting below 2 pitch black eyes.
"Don't ask silly questions, Rosie. You're the only one for me. You always have been. You always will be." Shiloh was opening the screen door. The dark-haired pale children grabbed the storm door from the other side and pulled, Rosie with her sinister grin and black eyes moved forward.
"Let us in, Shiloh." The children and Rosie crossed the threshold and, immediately afterwards? Shiloh let out a scream coming from the death throws. As painful as it was? At least the ripping out of his throat by the children's mouths was, mercifully, quick.
"Bubba! You are one redneck, peckerwood cracker!" Don rolled his eyes as he drove along at a steady pace patrolling. "You know I'm right! You just don't want to admit it!" Bubba was getting equally irritated with Don in his response. Don's wife, Allison, was, indeed, Tish's little sister. She was also "the town doorknob" as Old Shiloh not so eloquently called her. She was well known to everyone as Eerie's town slut even though she married Don 10 years ago. Guess it's true what the song says, you can't turn a ho into a housewife.
"Dude, I know you love her but she's always gonna be the town whore, Man" Bubba tried backpedaling at least some.
"Will you shut up? Will you just shut the fuck up? I'm tired of hearing this shit!" Don lost it and blew up on Bubba. Bubba, in turn, shut down and stopped speaking.
They rolled onto James Dean Boulevard and proceeded to Ol Shiloh's place. It was dark, lonely and isolated. Shiloh was never one for neighbors, but something seemed even more off. Something just didn't seem right. Isn't that what Tish described earlier when Shiloh spoke to her on the phone? She said she heard fear. They'd never known Ol Shiloh to be fearful. Today? All of that changed.
Don & Bubba slowly crept up Shiloh's long driveway. Don tried rolling the spotlight on the cruiser up onto Shiloh's front porch. It was still a weak beam of light but was getting brighter. "What the fuck?" Don hit the brakes. "What is it?" Bubba looked at Don like he was absolutely crazy. "The door is open. Actually? Both of them are." Don shone the spotlight onto the open screen and wooden doors. They could tell both doors were open but could see nothing else due to the darkness.
"I don't like this, Bubba." Don was intrepid and softly pressed on the accelerator.
"Don, should we call Tish & Gomez? I mean, I know it's their night out but..." Bubba trailed off.
They sat in the driveway next to Ol Shiloh's porch. Other than both front doors being open? They couldn't see a thing.
Don and Bubba slowly approached the porch, guns drawn. It was dark but something was lying just inside the open front doors. As they advanced? It was boots. Jump boots that had a high polish shine. Those boots were connected to legs. Shiloh's legs.
"Jesus Christ, call for a bus!" Don yelled for Bubba to radio in for an ambulance.
Shiloh laid at the entrance to his home, flat on his back, staring with dead cold wide open eyes straight to and through the ceiling. A look of abject horror plastered all over his face. His throat was ripped out almost to his spinal cord.
"Oh, God, I'm gonna puke!" Bubba ran back outside where the evening's coffee went all over the sidewalk.
"Call the coroner, too. This is gonna be a God damn circus!" Don didn't attempt to get a pulse considering Shiloh's carotid arteries and jugular veins had been viciously ripped out.
Bubba wiped his mouth and started calling all of the necessary people. Don stood next to Shiloh with his hands holding his head in disbelief.
"Our 1st kill was a success." The dark-haired pale boy said to the creature that looked like Rosie.
"It was this time. We must improve. We must refine. If we don't evolve? We wither and die. What would the point be to just stop at the 1st kill? The colony could never advance if we never pursued other avenues to further our agenda." The creature that looked like Rosie opined.
The dark-haired pale boy and girl nodded in sync with everything the creature that looked like Rosie said. Is this how their occupation of Terra was really going to commence? Given everything the Alliance taught them? They thought the humans would be more violent and aggressive. Perhaps? PART 1: The Windows to the Soul: Shiloh's final battle END

The purpose of this post is to shed light on the challenges faced by the Sikh community in Kashmir, who represent a small minority in the region.
Disclaimer: This post does not aim to portray the entire Kashmiri muslim population as religious fanatics, nor does it intend to undermine the hardships faced by them The following account is based on the experiences shared by my parents and grandparents, who are Kashmiri Sikhs. My parents attended school during peak of militancy
Pre-Independence: Prior to independence, the majority of Kashmiri Sikhs were involved in agriculture and owned small plots of land.
Partition: During the partition, Kashmir was invaded by Pakistani tribes, who targeted and killed as many Sikhs as possible. In those chaotic days, families fleeing their villages for cities often faced the heartbreaking decision of leaving some of their children behind due to limited means of transportation. My grandfather and his sister were left behind by my great grandmother, as she had three more children to take care of. Fortunately, they were later rescued by one of their aunts. Unfortunately, there were instances where desperate parents were forced to make unimaginable choices, including leaving their children behind or even tragically drowning them in wells. Many Sikhs lost their lives while fighting against the invaders.
Militancy: This was a somber and dark chapter in the history of Kashmir. Although Sikhs were not openly targeted like the Pandits, they also faced violence. One of our distant relatives, who worked as a traffic cop, was killed during this period. My grandfather was hit on the leg during crossfire Sikhs were victims of the mehjoor nagar massacre widely believed to be done by LeT. and chiitisinghpora believed to be done by the indian army
A Sikh girl from Alochi Bagh fell in love with a Kashmiri militant and eloped with him. However, she suffered mistreatment and experienced multiple miscarriages. Eventually, she managed to return to her mother, who then arranged her marriage with a Jat man from Punjab.
Discrimination and Insults: My mother was once told by a Kashmiri muslim to return to Punjab. She also recalls a conversation where a classmate told her that her lifestyle was not in accordance with Sunnah, a comment intended to shame her. On another occasion, when she showed her wedding album to a Kashmiri friend, her km friend condemned her for it.
One of my great uncles left his government job due to the growing influence of religion in the workplace, which was not the case before the rise of militancy. My father and uncle also faced similar instances of abuse and intimidation. My uncle was even held at knife point as an act of intimidation.
Job Discrimination: In my grandparents' generation, there were a considerable number of Kashmiri Sikhs who held Grade B and C government jobs. Some were doctors and dentists, although they did not occupy high administrative positions like the Kashmiri Pandits. However, very few individuals from my parents' generation have secured government jobs. Those who have managed to do so are either Kashmir Administrative Service officers (which is a challenging achievement), have paid bribes, or benefited from reservation quotas for Other Backward Classes. This cannot be attributed to a lack of merit, as my grandparents were able to secure government jobs with limited resources.
Drug Abuse: The lack of employment opportunities and the trauma endured by the community has led many Sikhs to resort to drug abuse. Even today, drug addiction remains a significant problem in Kashmir. In the early 2000s, some Sikh youth would take drugs and lie down in despair in gurudwaras The discrimination and lack of jobs they faced from their own kashmir Muslims brothers has pushed some of them closer to india . Some kashmiri sikhs also joined the indian army .
Despite the hard ships sikhs continue to live in kashmir. Effort have been made by both communities to stabilize ties and promote harmony. (

Below you will find a weekly reminder of our Rules and partial FAQ. We periodically revise our rules, this weekly notice will help keep you informed of any changes made.

Community Rules

1. Kindness Matters

Advise, don't criticize.

• Post with empathy, thoughtfulness, and constructive commentary rather than judgment. Don't be an asshole.
• Name-calling, slurs (including gender or race based slurs), and insults towards other community members will not be tolerated. Do not attack others for their personally held values, custody situation, marital status, physical distance from stepkids, or economic status; or on the basis of race, sex, sexual orientation, age, religion, or ethnicity.
• No name-calling toward children, including the above-mentioned insults or the term "skids", or terms such as "mini-wife" or "mini-husband."
• Comments advocating spanking or any mention of wanting to harm children are not allowed.
• This is a support sub, not a judgement sub, assholes are not tolerated. Comments with terms used in other subs to pass judgement on assholes will be removed.

2. No Drama

This is a support sub.

• Bickering, nitpicking, and thread derailment will not be tolerated and will be subject to removal at moderator discretion.
• Do not repeatedly badger a poster demanding answers, or refuse to acknowledge an answer that's already been given.
• Do not use sensitive issues from past posts (either from this sub or other subs) to attack another user, as we are all discussing vulnerable topics.
• Crossposting anything from /stepparents to any other subreddit might result in a ban and may result in the original thread being locked. Brigading our sub will result in an immediate ban.

3. Report, Don’t Rant

No backseat modding.

• If you see someone breaking the rules, report the post or comment to the mods rather than engaging them in an argument. Failure to do so may be subject to comment removal at moderator discretion.
• No meta posts complaining about rude comments, DMs, or general sub issues.
• If you think someone is a troll or previously banned user, either use the report function or message the mods to direct their attention to the issue.

4. No Naming & Shaming

No userpings or links.

• Tagging/pinging users or other subreddits in an attempt to bully, harass, or complain will not be tolerated. Do not tag other subs, ever.
• If you want to complain about another subreddit being hostile to stepparents, do not name the subreddit. "Other parenting/advice/judgement subs" will suffice.

5. No Platitudes

Nobody knew what they were getting into.

• Comments like "You knew what you were getting into", "Love them, love their kids!", "They're a package deal!" and "You have to love them like your own!" will be removed.
• Comments suggesting that OP is not cut out for stepparenting will be removed at moderator discretion.
• Comments like "This is just a part of parenting, deal with it!" will be removed at moderator discretion.

6. No Trolling

We have zero tolerance for trolls.

• This is a support sub. Our subscribers do not have the time, nor inclination, to provide support to internet trolls. Posts that are suspected to be trolling attempts will be immediately removed, and the poster banned.
• Concern trolling, devil's advocating, gish-galloping, sealioning, and general asshattery are subject to immediate removal and banning without warning or notice.
• Any attempt to circumvent the ban by creating a new username will be reported to reddit admins and possibly result in account suspension.

7. No Personally Identifiable Information

Use discretion when posting.

• We highly recommend using a separate account for support subs to help prevent being doxxed. Do not post any information that may allow others to figure out your identity.
• Do not post photos of children, or any other photo that could be used to identify you or another user on the sub.
• Any image that contains a name or other identifying information should have the name or identifying information blurred out. This includes drawings, notes, and screenshots.
• Do not link to social media or any articles/blogs where you or another user on the sub is mentioned by name.

8. No More than 2 Posts per 24 hours

Use the daily threads.

• We are not a huge sub, but we are no longer a small sub. If you have multiple grievances to air, use the daily discussion threads instead of multiple posts.

9. Follow Reddiquette

Remember the human.

• Adhere to the same standards of behavior online that you follow in real life.
• Read it in full here.
• Downvoting is reserved for comments that don’t contribute, and shouldn't be used to indicate disagreement.
• If you believe someone is in violation of the subreddit rules, please either use the report function or message the mods to direct their attention to the issue.
• Suspected brigading will be reported to reddit admins.

10. No Porn, Spam, Blogs, or Research Studies/Surveys Without Mod Approval

Just don't.

• This is a SFW subreddit. Posting pornography will result in immediate post removal and permanent ban.
• Advertising on the subreddit (outside of Reddit's own advertising) is not allowed.
• No personal blog posts are allowed without express moderator permission.
• No advertising without prior mod approval.
• No asking for money/posting fundraisers/etc.
• For links to parenting research studies or surveys, please message the mods for permission before posting.

11. Disputes in Modmail Only

Don't argue with the mods on the sub.

• Any issues specifically related to how a mod is moderating should be addressed to the full moderating team via mod mail. This ensures that all mods are aware of any concerns and prevents disintegration of the topic thread at hand.
• This means to do not message or send chat requests to individual mods. All discussion and complaints about mod actions need to be done in mod mail ONLY. Failure to follow this rule can result in an immediate permanent ban.
• Comments in threads asking about mod decisions are subject to removal without notice.

12. Moderator Actions

We aren't kidding.

• Users are expected to know the rules before posting. If you are warned or banned for violating the rules, ignorance is not an excuse.
• Moderators will remove posts and comments and/or lock threads in accordance with the rules above. Typically this happens when threads have gone off-topic in a way that is not productive for the OP, or comments overall have become contentious or disrespectful.
• If a poster continues to argue or to willfully violate these rules, temporary and permanent ban procedures will be followed. Any attempts to avoid or bypass temporary bans will result in a permanent ban. User bans will not be discussed in the sub. Questions posted about user bans are subject to removal and the poster subject to warning/ban procedures. The mod team will not discuss a specific user ban with anyone other than the user involved.
• New accounts are subject to manual approval until they are no longer deemed "new" by the mod team. This helps to weed out trolls and ban evaders.
• We rely on Automoderator to scan for specific words and phrases that are not welcome here and notify the mod team to review the comment or post. This includes slurs of any type and platitudes such as "Love them as your own!"
• The mod team uses a combination of blacklisting and banning when dealing with trolls.
• We employ the use of a bot that automatically bans anyone who comments in subs that have historically harassed our users. If you are picked up by the bot for telling trolls to get fucked, reach out via mod mail and we'll get you sorted out.
• The rules above as well as ban procedures are considered guidelines only; some deviation may be necessary on a case by case basis and/or at the mod team's discretion.

13. Ban Procedure

These actions are at moderator discretion.

• Pornography will result in an automatic permanent ban.
• Extremely egregious content will result in an immediate permanent ban.
• You may receive a 7 or 30 day temporary ban for first and second rule violations, depending upon severity.
• Continued rule violations will result in a permanent ban.
• Willful attempts to avoid or bypass temporary bans will result in a permanent ban.

FAQ - About the Rules

What does Kindness Matters mean?

• Shortest version? Don't be an asshole. People come here for support and advice, they do not come here to be yelled at or told they are the reason everything is going sideways. There are ways to point out that someone may want to do some reflection on their own actions and reactions without being an asshole about it.
• The purpose of this subreddit is to provide support and a sense of belonging for struggling stepparents. We aren't here to pass judgement, but rather to offer support, empathy, and constructive commentary. That does not include "hard truths" or "tough love." Stepparents get enough of that in every other subreddit, we're not passing it out here. Be respectful.
• Remember, most people aren't going to come to a sub like this when everything is going great and everyone is getting along. People are coming here when they are down, when they are feeling defeated and stretched to the limit. Kicking someone when they are down is shitty behavior and we don't tolerate it.

What about being kind to the kids?

• "Won't somebody think of the children?" Pearl clutching isn't needed here. If you read the Kindness Matters rule closely, you will see that there is a clause in there about name calling children. We don't allow it. We also don't allow people rolling in telling OP that they feel sorry for their stepkids because OP is feeling overwhelmed and overloaded.
• If anyone is advocating slapping, spanking, or any other form of violence, report the comment immediately. We do not advocate violence towards children of any sort. The mod team does not advocate any sort of physical punishment at any time.
• Venting about behaviors is not the same as insulting the kids. However, if you see a post or comment where kids are being name called or dragged to the point of no return, use the report button. We try to catch the posts and remove them before they hit the sub, but we cannot see every comment without your help. Use the report button to bring problematic comments to our attention. Don't engage in a war of words on our subreddit.

Why is this sub such an echo chamber?

• Not allowing contributors to pile on and tell OP that they are a terrible human being who should never be around children does not equate to being an echo chamber. Many contributors here will offer OP suggestions to help them work through their resentments and frustrations, and the most egregious situations are called out. We simply ask that it be called out with respect.
• If you feel that a post is simply too much for you to handle without following the rules, move on to another post.
• If you believe that a post itself is crossing the rules report it. If the mod team has approved the post, it is because the mod team believes that the OP needs help from the community or needs a moment to vent and move on from their vent. That does not give you license to pile on disrespectfully. Unless it is proven that OP is a bot, assume that OP is a human being with real thoughts and feelings and has posted from a place of vulnerability.

Why can't I tell OP that they are an asshole?

• Because this isn't a judgement sub. We aren't AITA, we don't want to be AITA.
• Comments with terms like YTA, NTA, ESH, NAH will be removed.
• Don't start your posts with INFO either. We generally recognize that as a fishing attempt for more information to pass judgement on OP, and again, we are not a judgment sub.

But OP asked if they were an asshole?!

• Their post somehow got past our automoderator. Just use the report button. We will address it with OP.
• If you've asked if you are an asshole, a-hole, a*hole, a**hole, whatever, don't be surprised if your post is removed without warning. This isn't a judgment sub. If you want judgment, you know where to go.

What is a gendered slur?

• While it seems that everyone understands what racist slurs are, people struggle understanding the concept of gendered slurs. Generally speaking, we are talking about derogatory nouns or verbs that are used to negatively describe people or situations based on gendered terms.
• We've gone back and forth on this a few times, and the truth is, we get it, it's your safe space and you want to be able to vent about BM/BD how you want to vent about them, without us telling you how to vent about them. Fair enough. Vent away. What we are going to stick to here how people are referring to other users and to stepchildren.
• Examples that are not allowed:
  • "My SD is such a little bitch."
  • "She dresses/acts like a slut."
  • "My SS acts like a pussy."
  • "My SS is such a beta male."
  • "You are all fucking whores."
  • "Any dude who is raising some sluts kids is a cuck!"
  • "Little Lord Fauntleroy over here thinking he runs the house!"
  • "You're just the bangnanny, get used to it."
• Don't call users here names, don't call stepchildren names.
• Masking the term with asterisks or other neat little tricks might get you around the bot, but if we see it, we're removing it and quite possibly giving you a time out. The intended word is still there and you deliberately tried to skate the rule.
• As there is not enough space to list every term that is offensive and does not belong, nor every situation in which term or phrase may be allowable in context, this rule is enforced based on moderator discretion.

Seriously? You are the language police now?

• We're here to talk about stepparenting. And we would like for that to happen in a respectful way. Attacking each other doesn't help. Belittling stepchildren draws in trolls who don't understand your frustration, all they see is an evil stepmonster talking shit on the internet about a poor, innocent baby. Yes, even if that "poor, innocent baby" just robbed you blind and set fire to the house on their way out the door. That's just how it goes.
• We are aware that this is a relatively new rule and a lot of older posts and comments contain a lot of problematic language, including some from mods themselves. We are growing and evolving, and rules change as the sub grows and evolves.

What does No Drama really mean?

• Pretty much what it says, do not bring drama from other subs into this sub. Do not engage in vote brigades. Do not try to incite other subscribers to riot in a different sub. Don't follow posters into this sub from other subs to continue to harass them. Do not badger someone or derail threads. Do not harass community members because you don't agree with them. There's enough drama in the daily lives of subscribers, more isn't needed.

What is thread derailment?

• When a comment chain has devolved to the point where all you are doing is arguing back and forth with someone about the same thing over and over again, you have derailed the thread. Also known as bickering. It's what children do. We assume if people are in a stepparent role they are adults. We expect you to act like it.
• If you aren't a stepparent, or in a stepparenting role, consider that perhaps this subreddit isn't for you. If you want to participate, do so with respect. Thread derailment, arguing, bickering, and nitpicking are not allowed.

But what if they didn't answer my question?

• No one has to answer your questions. This is a support sub, not an inquisition. Jumping on a bandwagon with "OP is evading the question" in a 20 comment long chain is the epitome of thread derailment. You'll find more information about trolling below and how this might be considered such.

Why am I being silenced? I'm just asking for a back and forth!

• Thread derailment, badgering, and nitpicking are considered harassment. Continued harassment of either community members or mods will get you banned.

Why can't I look at someone's post history and comment about it?

• No mod in the history of this sub has ever once said post histories are forbidden. What we do frown upon is using someone's post history to attack, belittle, or otherwise harass someone.
• Example Post: "My stepkid's mom really hates me. How can I make this better?"
  • Okay: "Based on the timeline and your post history, it looks like this may have started as an affair. Unfortunately there's going to be outstanding issues for a long time due to that. Try focusing on yourself and how you can move forward without worrying about how someone else feels about you."
  • Not Okay: "Holy shit! You were the OW! What the hell do you expect, homewrecker?!"
• Example Post: "I am completely overloaded and feeling very down about myself."
  • Okay: "In your post history you mentioned that your spouse wasn't really helping around the house. Has that changed at all?"
  • Not Okay: "LOL, you already got the answers you need in your post on relationships. You are stupid for sticking with your lazy spouse."

Why can't we crosspost stuff to other subs?

• We can't stop you from doing so. The problem isn't that something has been crossposted, it's when the community that it's been crossposted to feels the need to come over here and harass OP. When we see that happening, we lock the post and start passing out bans. If you did the crossposting, you'll be banned. If you participated in the brigading, you'll be banned.

What if it's my own post?

• Again, we can't stop you from doing so. We prefer that you don't technically crosspost, but rather just copy and paste your post. Why? Because inevitably the above will happen. Redditors from other subs will follow you back to /stepparents and start attacking users here. It just happens.

What is "brigading"?

• Reddit defines vote manipulation and brigading as follows:
• Using multiple accounts, voting services, or any other software to increase or decrease vote scores.
• Asking people to vote up or down certain posts, either on Reddit itself or through social networks, messaging, etc. for personal gain.
• Forming or joining a group that votes together, either on a specific post, a user's posts, posts from a domain, etc.
• We, along with pretty much every other subreddit that has ever had to deal with this nonsense, further define brigading as this: You saw a post on another sub that linked to our sub either via a link in a comment or a crosspost. It was basically saying something along the lines of "OMG, check out these assholes over on /stepparents! They literally hate all their stepkids!" And then you and your friends come over and start hammering on OP and telling OP how much they suck. Congrats, you have just participated in a brigade.

What is this whole Report, Don't Rant thing about?

• If you see a post or comment that breaks the rules, instead of engaging, report it. When you report it, it sends notification to the mod team. We will act on it where appropriate. Engaging with bad faith users may result in your comments being removed. If you repeatedly do so, you may end up being banned.

What if I see an obvious troll?

• Report it.

What if they are being really mean in comments?

• Report it.

What if they are harassing me in private messages?

• Step 1: Report them to admins. You can report harassment to reddit by using this link or send a DM to reddit admins. Include the link to the DM, admins can see your inbox and providing a direct link is helpful for them to weed out bad actors.
• Step 2: Block the person so they cannot directly contact you again.
• Step 3: Send us a mod mail and let the mod team know. Tell us who they are and what they said, send us a screenshot if you can - admins can see your DMs, mods can't. We'll take action where necessary by banning from the sub if they aren't already banned.

What do you mean by No Naming & Shaming?

• Just as we prefer to not be linked to or crossposted from, we do not allow linking to or calling out other subs by name. If you see something you want to share, say it's a hot post that has hit the front page and a stepparent is being absolutely flayed, just refer to it as "that hot post that hit the front page." If you want to complain about other places in general, "other parenting/advice/judgement subs" will suffice. Absolutely under no circumstances should you link to anywhere else.

I can't link to other subs?

• Do not directly link to another sub. (e.g.: "/insertsubnamehere is ridiculously hostile to stepparents!")
• Do not name other subs. (e.g.: "I won't link to it directly, but insertsubnamehere is ridiculously hostile to stepparents!")
• Do not abbreviate other subs. (e.g.: "I know that ISNH is ridiculously hostile to stepparents!")

I can't ping other users?

• Do not summon another user with a username ping/tag. (e.g.: "insertusernamehere was being an asshole.")
• If you are agreeing with someone, it is okay to link to them. (e.g.: "I agree with insertusernamehere, you need to take a couple of steps back and reflect on this.")

What does No Platitudes mean?

• Sanctimonious, overused clichés that grossly oversimplify the stepparenting experience are neither wanted nor allowed here. We have all heard it a thousand times before, we don't need to hear it again. It's not nearly as insightful and wise as some would like to think.

Why don't you people understand it's a package deal?

• Any comment that suggests that OP should have known what they were getting involved with, or that they needed to understand that the kids were part of some package they needed to accept before signing up for marriage is subject to immediate removal.
• This is one of the most insensitive things you can say to a stepparent. Most stepparents were aware of the children, but they were probably not aware of all of the family dynamics.

Why can't you just love them like they are your own?

• Demanding that a stranger you do not know love children that are not biologically theirs as if they were theirs can be incredibly damaging to someone who is already in a vulnerable situation. Any comment that falls along these lines will be removed.

What do you mean by No Trolling? I was just...

• No means no. No trolling. No pretending to be a stepparent and then whipping out the Greatest Hits Bingo Card of The Worst Stepparent in the History of Stepparents. We see you. We've seen you a thousand times.

What does "concern trolling", "gish-galloping", and "sealioning" have to do with stepparenting? This isn't a debate sub, why are you using debate terms?

• That's absolutely right, this isn't a debate sub. And yet, here we are, day after day, having to defend ourselves against this sort of thing. So, enough. No more. Usage of any of these things will get you banned.

What is "Concern Trolling?"

• A concern troll is someone who disingenuously visits sites of an opposing ideology to disrupt conversation by offering unwanted advice on how to solve problems which do not really exist.
  • Example Post: OP expresses concern that she will feel, and possibly act, differently towards her stepchildren after her husband decides that no, he doesn't want anymore children after all.
  • Example Concern Troll pulled from actual mod mail after their comment was removed: "Possible child abuse claims need to be sorted out well before whatever empathy you believe the OP was looking for."

What is a "Devil's Advocate"?

• "I'm just playing devil's advocate here, but have you considered that maybe BM is just really tired and needs a break, too?" BM has dozens of different mom based subs alone on reddit she can complain on, this sub is for stepparents. The stepparent doesn't need to consider that maybe BM is just really tired and needs a break.

"Gish-galloping?" What does that even mean?

• The Gish Gallop is the fallacious debate tactic of drowning your opponent in a flood of individually-weak arguments in order to prevent rebuttal of the whole argument collection without great effort. The Gish Gallop is a conveyor belt-fed version of the on the spot fallacy, as it's unreasonable for anyone to have a well-composed answer immediately available to every argument present in the Gallop.

And "sealioning?" What's that?

• Sealioning involves jumping into a conversation with endless polite, reasonable questions and demands for answers, usually of entry-level topics far below the actual conversation (e.g. "please prove sexism exists"). This tactic differs little from harassment; instead of discussion, the point is to derail discussion, receive criticism (for their ignorance) so as to look like a victim, or to make someone feel overwhelmed and quit talking.

Who gets to define what is considered asshattery?

• The mod team, of course! If we feel that comments are out of line, are trolling, are leading up to a fight or "just asking questions", we are going to remove them and most likely ban the offender.

Why aren't my posts or comments showing up?

Why was my comment removed?

• Comments are removed when they do not follow the rules of the sub. These rules are published in several places for your reading pleasure.
• Comments are removed at moderator discretion. In some cases your comment may be removed while another remains up. If you find this to be the case, and you believe the comment to be violating the rules, instead of arguing with mods or demanding they remove the additional comments, just report it.

This comment/post is really offensive! Why is it still up?

We've been dealing with a few unhappy folks who like to attack stepparents, and reporting it to the admins is the only way to make it stop.

What are the general moderator guidelines?

• Users are expected to know the rules before posting. If you are warned or banned for violating the rules, ignorance is not an excuse.
• Moderators will remove posts and comments and/or lock threads in accordance with the rules above. Typically this happens when threads have gone off-topic in a way that is not productive for the OP, or comments overall have become contentious or disrespectful.

Hi everyone, i have been producing music in my bedroom since i was 13 (2002). Started using Propellerhead Reason and stuck with it until i moved to Logic Pro when i bough my first Mac in 2007. Besides a short experiment exporting my reason stems to Live (Before it supported VSTs) to use the session for loops, i have only witnessed it from the sides.
This year i started to jam with a friend, where they use hardware and i use my mac and some midi devices to improvise live. Making loops, playing instruments, looping guitars. The live loops session in Logic was fine for the first few sessions, but it's really starting to crack in live envoirment. The playback will stop from time to time, midi synch will go out of whack, and the live monitor of channels will go bananas. Knowing that this feature came from Abelton, i'm wondering if it might be a better option?
The set upm as i have it, one channel is input from my friend mix, and then a random assortment of virtual instruments and audio channels (Vocals, guitars) (that i can add and adjust on the fly).
Questions:

1. Does anyone have experience with such a set up, how is the performance on a apple silicone mac?
2. How is the experience of "live looping" where i would record a section of my guitar and loop it back without stopping the performance
3. What are the benefits for such a set up over logic? (Workflows, tools, plugins etc..)]
4. Would you recommend to switch?
5. Is there anyway to use the Plugins and instruments from logic still in Live?

I (37F) told my husband (38M) this week that I don’t want to continue in our relationship. In fact it was coaxed out of me in a counselling session by the therapist. Anyway, the problem is he’s refusing to engage over it and we’re in a stalemate. He’s acting like nothing is happening. Does anyone know how I can move this forward using the following info for context?…

• Together 19yrs, married 11. We have one child (9F).
• We own our home and would be set to make up to £200k if we sold.
• We both work full time with my salary slightly higher than his (by £1k). I can support my daughter on my own with no help.
• He said I can leave BUT he has also said that he doesn’t want anything to do with our daughter. He wants to wash his hands of us both completely because he can’t have me (we’ve been here before we a previous separation and he manipulated me into returning because he threatened suicide or complete withdrawal from her life if we didn’t return). Can he do this? If I’m to be the primary caregiver, can he kick us both out of our home? Obviously I don’t want her to be rejected by her own father, but if that’s his approach then I want to protect her from that so won’t force her to stay with him.
• We have savings, which we consider joint, but both accounts are in my name only. This is because he’s financially irresponsible and has spent over £30k of our savings behind my back in the past. I’ve also bailed him out of his overdraft to the tune of £1k more than once and he spent an entire settlement we received from a car accident while leading me on by saying we hadn’t received it yet, until I threatened to call the solicitor myself. This is why our savings were handed over to me and I have all the bank details.
• The only debt we have that isn’t the hire purchase for our car is a credit card in his name, which we consider joint. The reason it’s in his name is because I was on maternity leave when we took it out, which went against our application at the time.
• If he’s choosing to walk out of our daughter’s life, does he need to pay child support? Like I say, we earn roughly the same salary but I would be the caregiver.
• That said, can I get any financial support on a salary over £50k? It’s not essential, but my job is hybrid with a London office and occasional site visits (1.5hr commute twice a week), so I would need to pay for childcare in this time if he’s not going to be in her life. Right now we alternate wfh days, so someone can always drop and collect her.

There is no infidelity or domestic violence involved, but he is emotionally manipulative, immature and has anxiety and depression which he refuses to address amongst other issues. He also has a complete aversion to intimacy. I’ve been his surrogate mother for my entire adult life, as his own mother passed away 2 years prior to us meeting. He also blames all of his problems on his parent’s separation when he was 9, hence why he refuses to separate. He’d rather our daughter live in a toxic environment where she’s afraid of his constant shouting and argumentative nature, than for her to stand a chance at living in a peaceful environment. We’re both much happier when he’s not around. His determination to walk away from his own child because he can’t have what he wants gives you an idea of his emotional maturity.
Any guidance would be helpful. He’s already refused to return to counselling next week and won’t engage since all of this came out on Friday. I’m going to put up the airbed tonight and sleep in our office downstairs as I woke up to him putting his arm around me yesterday morning. The only reason we’re still sleeping in the same bed is because we don’t have a spare bedroom (just the small office). He still wants to act like we’re a family. Any help would be appreciated. Also any guidance on how to make this as smooth as possible for our daughter as she is 100% my priority.

Hi everyone,
In April I got ahold of some weed. I got some THC vape cartridges as I was worried about the smell of flower, living in an old apartment with bad insulation.
My intention was to microdose as I've never really been interested in getting super high. I just wanted something that helps me get through the day.
So I took one medium sized puff of the THC cartridge. Within 5 minutes I felt way too high than I was expecting. I could handle it as I had researched first time safety tips but it was a bit unsettling. I had a lot of physical anxiety at this point (shaking, rocking back and forth) and I could not focus on anything external, I was fully in my head. This was also partly my fault as because it was a cartridge I was worried it was spiked, even though I did a lot of research into product safety.
After about 15 minutes though I was crying of happiness, I had never felt this good in 25 years of life. I thought this was going to feel like having a beer, or taking CBD, where there's a slight feeling, but this was way different. My childhood was quite intense so I was always anxious, crying and generally unhappy so I have CPTSD. But that one puff was amazing, I couldn't believe how good I felt and how amazing being alive felt. Every time I remembered something that I liked existed, I felt so happy. Music sounded amazing. Food tasted amazing. My heart felt love which it rarely does. I actually wanted to hug people. The only time I had felt like this in my life was when I would have very good dreams, which is less than 10 times in my life. I couldn't believe this stuff is illegal, it felt like it was only illegal so we would remain miserable enough to be 9-5 workers for our whole lives.
The problem was I felt WAY too high. I couldn't go about my day, I just sat there for 3 hours except to get food. I was physically shaky the whole time which I didn't like. I was alone but I basically became mute, I don't know if I would have been able to speak. It feels like I needed just 1% of the feeling weed gave me, and instead I was given it at 100% intensity.
The other problem is about 8 hours after the puff, I got violently ill. I was throwing up for 4 hours straight. I think this was because of something I ate, but it has kinda scared me from trying weed again as it was a bit traumatic, and I felt like I had been poisoned. This led me to throw away the weed I had as this freaked me out (and it was too strong anyway). Again my fault, I should've used flower to guarantee what it was. (The person I got it from had good reviews on their carts for years though.)
My questions are:

• How much THC do you think was in that one puff? If it was only a few mg then maybe weed is too intense for me.
  
• What is the best way to microdose? Is there a way to accurately know how much THC I'm getting?
  
• Could the weed have made be violently ill afterwards?

1) Will this be your first dog? If not, what experience do you have owning/training dogs?
* I already had a dog when I was a teenager, and was in charge of him after my parents divorce. I walked him twice a day, before and after my classes. I didnt really train him myself, my father had, a few years before he left. My girlfriend never had a dog, but have 2 domestic rabbits, and did some training with them (make them learn some tricks.
2) Do you have a preference for rescuing a dog vs. going through a [reputable breeder]( http://ownresponsibly.blogspot.com/2011/07/identifying-reputable-breeder.html)?
* As it will be our first dog, and we have rabbits at home (they live freely in our appartment), we prefer going through a breeder.
3) Describe your ideal dog.
* My ideal dog is a bit lazy, but loves to play and cuddle when stimulated. He is curious, and follows me everywhere in the house. He has a cute bond with our rabbits, and often sleep with them. He is strong and protective enough to intimidate aggressive people that bother my girlfriend when she walks by herself at night, but is not dangerous to friendly people. He loves us and want to be with us all the time, but can stand being by itself for a few hours.
4) What breeds or types of dogs are you interested in and why?
* I'm really fond of both the Eurasier and the Finnish Lapphund, as their looks can remind of wild canine species (like wolves, coyote), while looking harmless. They're not too big, but not too small either, and their long hair makes you want to cuddle them. I also like dogs who aren't just "cuddly toys", and who could also protect me, rather than protection being a one-way street (it's not a fragile little thing that I have to protect). They are also one of the few breeds that my girlfriend and I both like the looks (to put it simply, she likes funny little things like Corgis, and I prefer big dogs like Mastiffs). Also, they are a bit unusual, and even though I know it's not necessarily very clever, having a different breed of dog than everyone reinforces for me the feeling that he's unique.
5) What sorts of things would you like to train your dog to do?
* Simple things like sitting, lying down, pawing... And above all, being able to walk with him without a leash.
6) Do you want to compete with your dog in a sport (e.g. agility, obedience, rally) or use your dog for a form of work (e.g. hunting, herding, livestock guarding)? If so, how much experience do you have with this work/sport?
* Having the ability to do some dog sport would be nice, as I know my girlfriend really enjoyed practicing tricks with her rabbits, but it is not mandatory at all. We won't use him for any sort of work whatsoever.
**Care Commitments**
7) How long do you want to devote to training, playing with, or otherwise interacting with your dog each day?
* Ideally, something like 15 minutes of training, one hour of going out, and one hour of playing in the appartment. But I would like to interact with him in other ways too, and maybe having him by my side when working on my computer, cuddling him and so on.
8) How long can you exercise your dog each day, on average? What sorts of exercise are you planning to give your dog regularly and does that include using a dog park?
* An hour a day on weekdays, and three or four on weekends. I'd like to be able to take him for walks in the forest, in the countryside... In the great outdoors, when you leave the city to get some fresh air as a couple.
9) How much regular brushing are you willing to do? Are you open to trimming hair, cleaning ears, or doing other grooming at home? If not, would you be willing to pay a professional to do it regularly?
* -As little as possible, but we can do it twice a week if needed.

* As stated before, I love big dogs and my girlfriend prefers small ones. So a medium sized dog, Around 45-50cm high.
11) How much shedding, barking, and slobber can you handle?
* Shedding and slobber are fine. Barking when outside or playing at home is fine too, but can bother us while doing other things like cooking, working, watching a movie..
12) How important is being able to let your dog off-leash in an unfenced area?
* It would be nice, but it not our first criteria.

* Clearly a Snuggly one.

Chapter 1 Previous Chapter
As Raphael's awareness gradually seeped back into his senses, he found himself sprawled upon the chilling floor of the obsidian sphere he had found himself in once before. The once vibrant and fiery crimson symbols, intricately intertwined in the patterns, now stirred with an otherworldly dance, throbbing and shimmering in an icy blue luminescence. His mind struggled to thread together the fragmented memories of what had taken place, seeking coherence in the chaos that had unfolded. With each passing moment, a realization unfurled within him as he stared at the ceiling—their daring escape they had embarked upon had, against all odds, succeeded. Yet, instead of the anticipated surge of triumph, a gnawing ache of anguish and regret wound itself around his heart, tightening its grip. In that pivotal, heart-wrenching instant, he had been forced by George to continue the escape, forsaking his loyal companion, Vivian, and bearing within his soul a ripping ache that reverberated in the deepest parts of his being. As if mirroring the turbulence of his emotions, the once-icy blue glow metamorphosed into a somber shade, casting an aura of melancholy that pervaded the surroundings.
With measured caution, Raphael gradually lifted himself from the floor, his head throbbing with a splitting ache, an annoying reminder of the strength George posessed. His gaze settled upon the arch that now stood in place of the once-illuminating flame, commanding his attention. Perched atop the arch, a little blue chick, similar to what the one he saw singing on Lillians hand, adorned with a radiant azure ribbon-like tail, captivated his gaze, emanating a glimmer of solace and hope amidst the encroaching shadows.
I did not expect you so soon, but seeing what has happened I guess that’s to be expected, the bird chirped as he flew towards Raphael, landing on his shoulder. Had it not been for the luminous azure glow casting a gentle radiance upon Raphael's shoulder, he might not have even realized its presence. There was no discernible weight upon his shoulder, as if the bird defied the laws of gravity itself. “Are you the one I hear? What are you? Do I know you? And where am I?”, Raphael asked confused. Yes, I am the one you hear, the bird began, jumping off his shoulder and looking him dead in the eyes. I am the one that lend you power so you could escape, you’re welcome, it continued. And what you see is your soulcore and my home. I am a little disappointed that you don’t recognize you helped me hatch.
A wave of overwhelming confusion washed over Raphael, leaving him adrift in a sea of uncertainty. The threads of comprehension slipped through his grasp, leaving him with a sense of bewilderment. He had never hatched anything in his entire life, leaving him puzzled by its mention. The elusive meaning behind the bird's cryptic reference to ‘soulcore’ only deepened his perplexity. Moreover, the notion of a bird communicating with him, an Elf, seemed to defy all logical boundaries, intensifying his bewilderment. In this intricate web of confusion, Raphael found himself grappling with the surreal and the inexplicable.
Look at you all confused, the bird said sounding amused. This place, this sphere we are in, is your soulcore. In easier terms, that’s the thing you know of as soul, and if you are capable of magic it is here where it gathers. The bigger your soulcore is, the more magic you can store. If you can’t control it when your soulcore gathers magic, you will be controlled by the magic. It almost happened to you. Remember the flame? That was wild uncontrolled magic. You would have gone crazy then, losing your mind or worse. Luckily you had me with you and I will take this magic in until you can control it yourself. I am what is known as soulcompanion and your magic hatched me out of the egg the Dryad gave you. I can give your magic a color, strengthen it if you prefer that or you can summon me outside to help you., but after using that much strength right after hatching I will be of little use for some time. I can still keep you company if you’d like. Oh, and you should avoid stepping through the arch for now.
Overwhelmed and consumed by a whirlwind of confusion, Raphael found himself more lost than ever. The weight of his bewildering circumstances pressed heavily upon his throbbing head, spinning with a deluge of newfound information. The tumultuous events of being held hostage, their daring escape, being forced to leave Vivian behind, and now the revelation of his newfound magical powers had taken their toll. In this moment, he craved respite, a chance to catch his breath amidst the chaos. Raphael recognized the importance of pacing himself. It was time to approach this enigmatic journey with caution and take deliberate, measured steps forward. He yearned for a deeper understanding of the enigmatic bird that claimed to be his soul companion, even if the true meaning of such a connection eluded him for now. In this labyrinth of uncertainty, Raphael vowed to proceed gently, seeking clarity amidst the chaos that enveloped his world.
“So you’re my soulcompanion bird, what does that mean?”; he asked. Well, I live in your soulcore, feed off of your magic and help you with it. And since I am your companion I would like it if you gave me a name instead of calling me bird, the bird protested. “I should give you a name? Sure, but I am not good at giving names. Are you a boy or a girl bird?” Neither “Hm, then how about Azura, from the colorful shine you have? You like it?”
In a dazzling display, the Bird took flight, its wings creating a mesmerizing trail of azure snow and ice that shimmered in the air. It circled around Raphael, a dance of elegance and mystique, before gracefully coming to rest atop his head. The little weight of the Bird's presence he now managed to feel added a tangible significance to the moment, as if fate itself had chosen this spot for their connection.
I like it! I like it very much! Azura said, its voice filled with glee and joy. “Hello Azura, I am Raphael, nice to meet you”, Raphael said with a light chuckle.

This is one of those open theological questions, one I was considering while listening to a debate about the Catholic dogma regarding the Assumption of Mary.
Now for those who are unaware—there are many levels of authority when it comes to Catholic teaching. Catholicism has doctrines, which can change—but it also has dogma, which is infallible and does not change. Now generally I tend to avoid these distinctions like the plague(see my recent post about the Marian title of “Co-Redeemer”) since for the uninitiated it just causes massive confusion. However it kind of becomes inescapable for the purposes of this topic(and that one). Anyways, on to the topic.
In the “ordinary” teaching of the Magisterium of the Church, we Catholics maintain that Mary did die prior to the Assumption.
Now, a Protestant apologist seized on this teaching that Mary “died” as a kind of proof that Mary “contracted” Original Sin(since scripture tells us that the wages of sin is death). When I hear these kinds of arguments I don’t mind since it is well-reasoned and if I were only going off of Sola Scriptura, I could see how one could infer that. From a Catholic perspective I think there was a way to defend the Catholic position(which was not utilized during the debate) which actually draws upon the life of Christ itself and that is the subject of this post:
Had Our Lord not died on the cross, then would He have died naturally of old age?
I would say “yes”.
My reasoning would be grounded in the idea that physical immortality itself is not something we as human beings have by nature but rather was only possessed by Adam and Eve as a gift. Original Sin brought death into the human experience but this would not have been a punishment through a positive action by God so much as through a withdrawal of this special grace itself. Therefore the Son, having assumed human nature—would have experienced all that would have entailed, which includes natural physical death.
Drawing off of this, this means that Mary’s death, if we assume the Catholic position of her sinlessness is true(which we Catholics must do as it is dogma for us), could be explained in much the same way. It could be argued that her death was NOT a result of contracting Original Sin any more then Christ’s own death would have been, had he not been crucified. Now there are of course several other Protestant(and Orthodox) objections to Marian dogmas but where this one singular argument against the sinlessness of Mary is concerned, I don’t think it(Mary’s death) says anything about Mary herself.
