Number One: Motel
​
This happened to me and my girlfriend when we were travelling across country. We had to stay in various motels because all though she was okay with sleeping in our car, I was never able to do that. She could fall asleep with her head on the window at the drop of a hat, but I would be up all night trying my best to fall asleep.
​
We didn’t make reservations or anything like that. We just drove until we got tired and began looking for a motel with a vacancy.
​
Maybe on the third night of our trip, we had a pretty creepy experience with a motel that we found. I could tell driving into it that I wasn’t going to like it too much. We were in a pretty rural area and it looked pretty run down. But I was exhausted and needed to get some sleep, so we decided to spend the night there.
​
We got into our room and began getting ready to get some sleep. Suddenly, the phone began ringing. Figuring that it was the office I picked it up and answered it.
​
“You’re wife’s cute,” the voice on the other end told me. “I can’t wait until I am sleeping in bed with her.”
​
I wanted to say something back, but whomever was on the other end hung up immediately.
​
My girlfriend asked me what happened and I explained it to her. Maybe I shouldn’t have, because it frightened her. But if we were to get another call, I thought she should probably be prepared now. Not that I was expecting anyone to call back.
​
But about 10 minutes later, the phone rang again. I decided to answer it, thinking that it was likely the caller from before. And I was right.
​
“Time’s running out,” the voice told me. “Soon I will be in bed with your wife.” Then he immediately hung up.
​
We were very freaked out by that point. Gathering our stuff up, we decided to go check with the office.
​
We told them about the calls, but it was obvious it wasn’t coming from him. I had considered it, because he was the only one who should have known that we were in that room. But the voice wasn’t even close to sounding like the other. We asked if he had any idea what was going on and he said he had no idea.
​
We asked him if we could change rooms. We figured that maybe someone just knew the number to that room and was giving us a hard time or something. So he put us into another room on the other side of the motel.
​
We went to the room. At this point, I was very tired. I knew that it wouldn’t take long for me to fall asleep. However, I didn’t get a chance to.
​
We had only been in the room a few minutes before the phone began ringing again. My girlfriend and I both immediately got tense. I decided to answer the phone.
​
“Changing rooms won’t change the fact that I will be sleeping with your wife,” the voice on the other side of the phone said to me. Then, like all of the previous times, the phone hung up.
​
My girlfriend immediately knew what had happened. We talked about what we were going to do. I was exhausted, but now we were both on edge. We had no idea if this was a prank or if someone was actually going to do something. But we also knew that at that point, there was no way that we could get any sleep. Someone obviously knew the phone numbers in the rooms and was also watching us. That is the only way they could have known that we had switched rooms.

We decided that we needed to just check out and get back on the road. We would find another motel.
​
We gathered our things again and then left the room. We both felt very conspicuous, walking outside of the room. We felt eyes on us, that whoever had called us was now watching us. So we decided to put our stuff in the car before going in and telling the clerk that we were going to check out.
​
When we got to the car, however, we were stunned to see that all four of our tires had been slashed. So we just got more scared and immediately went to the clerk and asked him to call the police.
​
We could have brushed off the phone calls as being a prank, even with the switching of rooms. But seeing the tires cut made it so much more real. It really made us believe that someone had been watching us and was intent on hurting us.
​
Unfortunately, the police couldn’t do very much. There were a lot of guests in the motel and they couldn’t wake everyone up and question them. The most they could do was look around a little bit and make a report. Our car was taken to a mechanic and we rode along with the police to there.
​
It was a really long time before everything was taken care of. I was a very long time before I was able to get a good night’s sleep.

Number Two: Night Ride

This happened to me when I was 13 years old, but I still remember it as clearly as if it happened today. I had some uncles who were pretty close to me in terms of age. And a lot of times in the summer, if I went over to my grandma’s house, we would go for rides in the back of a pickup truck. I especially loved doing this at night because it was very, very creepy to do. And back in those days, I was looking for anything that could creep me out to entertain me.
​
This was a bit of an impromptu visit in mid summer. It was really hot outside, as I remember. This was back in the day when we had glass bottles of soda, not plastic ones. And I recall this mostly because we were stocked up on bottles of Mountain Dew.
​
My two uncles decided at night that they wanted to go for a drive through the hills. My brother and my cousin were with us and they wanted to do it too. So we loaded up in the pick up truck at night time. My uncles and my older brother were all in the cab. My cousin and I were in the bed of the truck.
​
I enjoyed those rides a whole lot and as I recall they were always a bit scary. There were no lights on those country roads, so when it go dark, it really got dark. The only light that we had was from the headlights of the truck. And being in the bed of the truck, that didn’t do us a whole lot of good.
​
My cousin and I were having fun. We liked being scared and we liked scaring each other. But on some level, the two of us were also expecting the older boys to try and do something to scare us. So we kept waiting for a possible scare to be on the way. But that was more in the back of our mind.
​
I really wish that I could describe to you what it was like to be riding in the bed of the car like we were in the dark. It’s the sort of thing that I miss in the world of today. Everywhere we go, there are lights everywhere. It is really hard to get scared like it used to be. The darkness was so encompassing that it nearly felt like we were isolated. Another thing I can think of is that it felt like were driving through a tunnel made of trees and such.

My cousin and I were doing our thing. We were talking about things that we thought might scare each other.
​
These were old dirt roads, so my uncle was not driving the truck really fast. There were tons of twists and turns, especially the higher up you got into the hills. And that is sort of important for what eventually happened.
​
The truck slowed down a little bit as it was about to go around a turn. We weren’t going very fast to begin with, but the turn was pretty sharp and we grabbed the sides of the truck to brace ourselves as we made the turn.
​
I was very familiar with this sharp turn. My uncles had tried to scare us one time by telling us that cars have had accidents right on that turn. In fact, they said that some people have died going around the bend. I was sure that it was their way of trying to scare us by making us think that we could die by going around the bend.
​
My back was facing the inside of the road, with my hands bracing me on both sides. And that was when it happened. I felt something on my left wrist. I turned and looked at my arm, and was stunned by what it looked like I saw. For a very brief moment, it looked like a human hand was grabbing my wrist.
​
So, I pulled my arm away. But as I mentioned, it was only for a brief moment and I easily pulled my arm away and the truck was around the corner. However, I quickly moved to the opposite side of the truck, where my cousin was sitting.
​
He was confused but I explained to him what I had seen. I don’t think he really believed me at first. But he knocked on the window and told my uncles to stop the truck. They did this and we told them what had just happened.
​
We took a flashlight and walked back over to the sharp turn. My uncle also took a rifle out that was kept behind the seat in the cab. But when we went back, we were unable to find anyone or anything. There was definitely no one anywhere near us.
​
My uncle then tried to scare us a little bit by suggesting it was the hand of someone who had died while making the turn. And of course, my cousin and I believed them. We got back in the truck and they took off again.
​
Riding in the bed of that truck was so terrifying. Both my cousin and I wanted to be in the cab, but there wouldn’t be room for us. Whatever I had seen and the story my uncles told us, well combined that scared the crap out of us. We were all too eager to get home.
​
I really have no idea what we saw that night, but it was the scariest moment of my life.

Number Three: Train Guy
​
Right on the outside of town, there is an old railroad track. At this time, I had lived in this town for about ten years. I could count on my hands how many times I have actually seen a train moving on it. However, right after a bridge, there is another off track. I am not really sure what you call it, but there are often train cars parked there for a really long period of time.
​
The area around the tracks is heavily wooded. There is a road the goes through it and up a hill. There are a few houses up on the hill, but very spread apart. But I often take that road because it’s a short cut to get back home because it leads through a field. That is how I knew about the train cars that are often parked there.
​
I was walking there with a friend one day and he decided that he wanted to take some pictures of the train cars. He was designing some sort of game and felt that he needed pictures to model off of. I can’t really explain that part, but I guess it’s just important that we needed to get pictures of it.
​
After taking pictures of some of the back cars, he wanted to walk to the ones in front. We had been taking pictures for a good 15 minutes at that point. However, when we started walking forward we noticed something. Someone walked out from between two of the cars. And then he started walking in our direction.
​
I can’t completely explain why, but seeing the guy made us both feel very uncomfortable. There were rarely any people back in that area. So I asked him if we should maybe just go. For some reason, the appearance of the guy, who was a bit far from us, was making him feel uneasy too. So we decided to just leave and to come back at a later time.
​
About a week later, he and I went on another walk. We decided to take the back road again. He wanted to take some more pictures. The same train was there, but that was not a surprise. They would sit there for months at a time. So we were going to try and go to the front of the train again and take those pictures of the front cars that we didn’t get to do last time.
​
However, as we began walking in that direction, it happened again. A guy came out from between two of the cars, which could have been the exact ones from the first time. And once again, there was something very creepy about the whole thing. So my friend and I once again decided to leave.
​
We talked about it for a while and came to a conclusion. There were some homeless people in our town. So we figured that for some reason, he must have been living in between two of the cars. Perhaps he didn’t want anyone snooping around in his area. So we decided that maybe we would just skip trying to get those pictures.
​
We kept away from the train area for quite a while. But my friend is really stubborn and he really wanted to get pictures of that train. So after a short period of time, we decided to go back to the train.
​
My friend was taking pictures and was going further down the track than we had before. Since the man didn’t come out, we figured that he was not around. So my friend started going between the cars to get all of the pictures that he needed.
​
It happened so quick that it took me by total surprise. The man pounced out from behind one of the cars, yelling all sorts of gibberish. And he was holding what looked like a pocket knife in his hand. And he began running straight toward my buddy.
​
My friend was closer to the guy than I was, and he fell over in surprise. The crazy man easily got to him and held him down. My friend was struggling to get up.
​
I hate to admit, I almost ran in fear. But I knew I had to help my friend. So I ran over there and tried my best to pull the crazy man off him. The man was a lot stronger than I would have thought, but with both mine and my buddy’s strength, we were able to pull him off. The guy stumbled backward and fell down.
​
I tried my best to pull my friend up. By the time we got him to his feet, the crazy guy was up too. And this was the first time I got a look at him. His eyes were chilling to me. I mean they made Norman Bates look normal. He also had what looked like blood on his face. IT was only then that I realized that he had actually bitten my friend.
​
It was too much and the two of us just took off running. He followed us, but fortunately only as far as the end of the train. We were able to get out of there safely from that point.
​
My friend had to go to the hospital. The police went and arrested the man who attacked us. They found tons of dead animals in the area where he was hiding. It looked like he had tried eating some of them.
​
He went to jail for the attack. It was three years for aggravated assault. But the two of us are stuck with the memory.

Second Break-Up Reasons (10 months)

2. Personal Interests
   1. She was very much a homebody and didn’t enjoy being social.
      1. We did align here but she lacked goals
   2. She had goals that focused on school but nothing in her personal life, there were no hobbies or interests she spent time pursuing.
   3. Our activities together were pretty standard in terms of relationships and things you do around town. We did museums, shows, dancing, etc. During our days together we sometimes didn’t see eye to eye on how to spend our time together.
   4. Our date nights were always great but followed the same routine. Community events and dinners at a new restaurant.
   5. Up until I had gotten her the bike I always felt like I was forcing her to join me hiking, go the trails, and be outside. She always participated and had a great time.
      1. Prior to the meeting I had built a routine around biking and switching to a low pace low energy lifestyle really upset me.
3. Christmas, Love, 1 year anniversary, valentines day, and birthday all in the next 60 days.
   1. The pressure around Christmas plays a good part in my reasoning for ending things. In retrospect, this shouldn’t have been the case. At the beginning of the Month, she provided me with 25 Christmas gifts in a basket. I didn’t know how to react to this, I hadn’t had a normal Christmas in years.
   2. It dawned on me that I always wanted the two of us to go biking together, and I always felt she could really use a bike to improve her own well-being. So I got her the bike.
   3. As Christmas grew closer and I was trying to find a bike and give her a great gift I began to question why I was doing this. Part of me felt like I had to because we were in a relationship and the other part was internalizing our entire relationship, was she the right one? I am putting in all this effort and is it worth it? Will she even like the bike? She’s never expressed interest in it
   4. In addition to Christmas, around that time everything about her changed, I very easily tell she was in love with me but afraid to tell me. This put even more pressure on making sure the Christmas gift. I also knew in 2 months we’d have a one-year anniversary.
   5. All of December I was so focused on the pressure of the relationship, making plans to be with her for Christmas, I began to disconnect from the relationship. It felt like things were moving really fast or were about to move very fast.
      1. I ended up convincing myself I wasn’t happy. I had put on weight, and I was becoming slightly aggravated with work…but because she always talked about the negative parts of her job. I felt like I was constantly splitting my weekends between what I wanted to do and what we wanted to do. I had worked so hard to be the person I was when we met and during our time together I lost that person. I knew that person had to change to accommodate her but I didn’t like the way it change.
      2. For Christmas I toyed with the idea of gifting her a key to my apartment, the idea being that I really wanted to move things forward with her, that I did love her, that I did want to change my life to better accommodate her.
      3. Did I love her though? I think so.
      4. I was scared that she was scared of telling me how she really felt about me. It made me nervous that there was something wrong in our relationship and the way we communicated.
   6. The Christmas Trip to Chicago
      1. The guy she went on the trip with is weird AF, I think she loves her, he pays for everything, takes her to sports games 2-3 hours away, and they've been very close friends for 10-15 years. Never dated, and she doesn't show nor talk about him in a way I should have any concern. Visually, this guy looks like a loser, but he is a very kind pushover.
      2. During Christmas, she opted to take a last-minute two-day trip to Chicago with her male friend Pinky. Her good friend I think is in love with her.
      3. The trip took place two days before Christmas during the really bad snowstorm. We had plans to be together for the holiday and go camping
      4. Her flight was delayed and she couldn’t come back until the 28th or 29th.
      5. I was devastated over this, I had finally come around to Christmas and was looking forward to having someone to spend the holiday with and it didn’t happen. This killed my entire Christmas mood and really made me question everything about us.
      6. She knew the storm was coming and before leaving knew there was a risk of missing Christmas but continued anyways. I don’t have an issue with pinky in the regard that she would cheat on me, but I really struggled to understand this relationship between the two of them.

Why the break-up

1. She has so much potential to be this amazing woman and she doesn’t even try. I know she has school and work…
   1. I had wished for a while that the feeling of guilt of spending time doing my own things would go away. May the would have if I had known on weekend mornings she was doing her own thing, spending time on herself instead of sleeping or watching crime shows.
   2. She has had some trauma around relationships in the past and this was a recurring conversation in our relationship. She made it very clear this was her first serious relationship where she felt safe and secure. This was the first relationship where she felt like her needs were being discussed and met. I eventually convinced her to get help with this which she did.
2. I became weary after she began seeking mental help. I was self-conscious about her finding out about my insecurities and those being identified by her therapist as reasons why we shouldn’t be together.
   1. I was open with her about everything in my life
   2. I didn’t even know if she was talking about our relationship
   3. She had the worst teeth, just needs to get those things cleaned.
   4. She has self-image issues, and while I always fault she was beautiful and extremely unique, she never really tried to work out with me or address these issues.
   5. We did try working out together once but it never stuck with her, this goes back to offering her a key to my apartment.
3. My Life was beginning to split into two:
   1. Our time together
   2. What I wanted for myself
   3. There was certainly overlap, and while people say you shouldn’t have similar interests as your partner, why is that? I would love if she was a more active person if she would have insisted on getting a bike to go out with me if she had more often entertained ideas for our time together that leaned more toward what I wanted to do
   4. Financial life - I want a house, I want to keep doing triathlons, I have big bike plans over the next few years. I wasn’t really ready to give up any of this, while there was no financial strain brought on by the relationship, relationships do require that you spend money and I sometimes felt like a dinner out could have been better used to finance a plane ticket or tri entry fee.
   5. I spent a lot of time each week trying to justify and how to explain to her that I was going to be gone half the day, on the two days a week we stayed together.
4. Moving in together
   1. I was so scared of this conversation. She needs to move out of her moms ASAP
   2. She considered moving in with her male best friend who I think is in love with her.
   3. She had a dog that wouldn’t fit in with my apartment.
   4. She often hinted at having this conversation
   5. During our breakup, I mentioned this and she did say it was way too early for that discussion.

Is part of a relationship supporting someone while they figure out who they are and what they want in life?

1. She had no idea what she wanted out of life, she very much had just begun to figure herself out. I am the one that forced her to do this.
2. She had a lot of self-confidence and image issues that stemmed from family and past relationships she hadn’t begun to understand
3. The conversation at Christmas about anxiety over having no plans or nothing to do for two weeks?
4. Did I overthink the pinky relationship?
5. Relationship with her ex, Jordan
   1. They met every Tuesday for dinner at a local food truck event
   2. She described their relationship as being a “situationship” they moved in together because they were dating at the same time they were both kicked out of their homes
   3. This is when she got the dog
   4. She mentioned he treated her extremely poorly
   5. When we got into her car his name was always on the “quick contacts” screen, but these contacts had never changed from our first date to the end of the relationship
   6. I never really tried to understand this relationship, the Tuesday dinner thing is something that has always happened, she’s been cheated on in the past, I never once felt she cheated on me with him, but I never understood why she hung on to this relationship. I assumed it was always a fall back plan.
   7. This guy was also invited to the graduation party.

The graduation party

1. She invited her work friends and myself, pinky, and Jordan. Again I just didn’t get this, especially since it was close family only

Physical Relationship

1. I have never connected physically and emotionally with someone like I did Michaela. During our discussion about our sex life we had a slight mismatch I was a few times-a-week person she was an everyday person but I learned to adjust.
2. The sex was amazing, again, I have never connected with someone like her before.
3. I’ve never felt more electric in a kiss with someone as I did with her.
4. I was always unhappy with her weight. At first, I thought it was because of my hated of bigger people, but it really came down to me not liking that she hated it but didn’t do anything about it.

Nags about the relationship:

1. Not a risk taker
2. I wish she was someone that would do everything with me, and we just didn’t have strong enough interest in each other's interests for this to happen.
3. Girl, you spend so much time watching tru crime shows, shut it off and learn about yourself
4. Quit your job, its toxic as fuck, hang out with your work friends less
5. Find a hobby, your significant other can’t be your entire life. Part of the reason we spent time figuring out what to do is that you don’t have any interests. Part of my guilt in the relationship was spending time doing my things while you were left at my apartment by yourself….watching tv
6. Get a teeth cleaning, fuck.
7. You’re beautiful and a head-turner, embrace it, and stop thinking so poorly of yourself.

After writing this out:

1. I think I ended things because of my fear of commitment
2. I did love her, but I spent a lot of effort convincing myself otherwise. I wish she could know this.
3. The pressure I put on myself regarding this relationship in December was unfair to both of us. She was being an amazing partner I was being selfish and looking for ways to not face these moments in our relationship
4. I don’t understand how to support someone and when it is correct to support someone in a relationship and what support needs to be sorted out on their own
5. I hope we cross paths again in the future, I think she’s going to end up being an even better match for me.
6. I realize that I was upset with her for not beginning to understand herself, and while she was certainly working toward it was in a manner different than what I did for myself to gain confidence and happiness in life
7. I wrote this after the mom letter, and I realize she made me extremely insecure about the relationship I had with my mother. She and her mother have a terrible relationship, almost verbally abusive in a way but she maintains a relationship with her. I was certainly afraid of her figuring out this could be an issue in our relationship or her therapist somehow indicating this is a red flag
8. I was so focused on trying to keep on top of being the best I could be, I put the relationship to the wayside, I became upset when I realized she wasn't trying to be the best she could be.

My grandpa on my mom’s side had a divorce with his wife in 2019. He went on a trip to see his friends after the split, and broke his leg falling off a bike. Since he hadn’t arranged a new living situation since the divorce, he moved in with my parents to recover. Initially we thought this would be a couple months recovery, however it has turned into a little over 3 years.
A little more history on my grandpa, and family in general:
-My grandpa has been through 2 divorces, each time displaying the same pattern of; 1. marrying a well off woman, 2. taking advantage of their generosity by not being employed and yet 3. using their money to flip boats and antique cars. He has made out well financially in each divorce settlement.
-My mom has had a difficult time recognizing that my grandpa is now using her and my dad. Growing up she would mention to me that she felt like she had to work really hard to maintain a relationship with her dad. He would never reach out to her, but he would always reach out to my uncles to spend time with them. Despite my mom’s efforts in planning time to spend with him, he would never reciprocate the effort. When my grandpa first moved in, she would gush to me about how she was so excited about finally having the opportunity to spend so much time with her dad. This has been the hardest part for me, because I can see right through him. I hate that he has basically groomed my mom for this moment, knowing she would be blind to the situation because she finally gets to have the relationship with her dad that she’s always wanted.
-During the time that my grandpa has been living with my parents, he has not been putting in his fair share of anything; chores, finances, maintenance, etc. Both my parents have expressed that this bothers them, but they are too nice to either ask him to pull his weight or move out.
-My grandpa has been dating on and off the last 3 years while living in my parents home. (This information will make more sense later)
-I no longer live with them. So the household consists of: mom, dad, two younger brothers (who are also fed up with our grandpa), and grandpa.
Continuing on with the story:
About a year ago my family went through a stressful period of time with a sick family member that was particularly close to my mom and grandpa. My mom expressed to my grandpa that she couldn't handle the situation without his help, and in return he left to visit a friend for a week. This is when some of the smoke had cleared for my mom, and she had mentioned to me how hard it is to tell him to move out. Her and my dad had a conversation, and gave him a loose move out date of early spring (AKA right now lol). This gave him 3 months of notice. He started dating again about 2 months ago. He met a woman who is a CEO of a big company and lives in a mansion according to my grandpa. He began staying at her house for long periods of time. Now my mom has told me that he has not been to my parents house for 5 weeks, yet all his stuff is still in his room/my parent’s garage. My mom has tried to reach out to him about where he's been, she finally got a hold of him last week and he did not have a clear answer as to whether or not he is officially moved out with his new girlfriend. It's clear that this situation has really hurt my mom. She told me that she can’t believe that after 3 years of living in her home, he would be so distant and give such vague answers.
Should I intervene in some way? I never thought about intervening until now because I want to respect my parent’s processes in this situation. But, I can’t stand to see my parents be used anymore! I understand they are in a complex situation, and I may be in a better position to handle him. What should I do?

Hey so was driving home and at the big roundabout in Mooroolbark there appeared to be some sort of incident at a servo. There was lots of police, fire trucks, ambulances and even unmarked police cars. Anyone know what happened?

Hello fellow travelers,
I need help with my Costa Rica trip. Is 7-8 days enough to see these attractions? This is what I would like….. fly in to San Jose, rent a car then…
1.Tortuguero National Park (sea turtles) 2.Fortuna (hot springs and Arenal volcano) 3.Monteverde (hike, suspension bridge,zip line if possible with kids) 4. Back to San Jose to fly out
In our travels we would like to see sloths,frogs, toucans and waterfalls. I should also mention we will be traveling as a family of 4 with little kids, they will be 4 and 6.
Looking at traveling in late March or early April.
Any thoughts? Advice?

A month after on December 3rd I saw a psychiatrist and was considered not schizophrenic, all that happened to start this whole thing was the fact that I was isolated from everyone and began having psychotic breaks which then had a domino effect since I never sought help, I couldn't afford the help to the point that I will be affected by this for the rest of my life. Alot of people say that I have been traumatized alot in my life, which is unfortunatley true. After it all ended, it felt like I was free. So I did as much as I could to make connections with people since I was still in high school when it all happened. I made new friends, my friend Jaivier along with the degenerates helped me move on and make me happy. When I was at my aunt's place, where I posted here during yuliyaposting, we celebrated the new year of 2022. My grandmother bought me a Soviet ushanka hat which I love wearing almost everyday and that's what makes me stand out in the crowd. On new year's day my aunt, who was pregnant with my cousin at the time took my picture of where I was as happy as possible, of where I thought I could leave it all behind, but I was so wrong. On the second day my father and I got into a car accident because the truck's steering fluids froze up! After a few days my last semester in high school started, that's when I knew I could start anew, people in my high school were mostly open minded, which is why I spent so much time with them after I graduated. I became a legal adult. When I made those new friends I mentioned earlier, they helped me out and were very supportive of me. I became very popular and had so many friends, I was so happy that I became the person I wanted to be in high school. I reunited with the warboys and I went to prom with 3 girls and danced with 5! (I think) I of course took the fattest rip possible from AJ's dab pen, of course. I wouldn't even think about having that much rizz if I wasn't baked! I then went to a party with billy, I was drinking and being polite of course, even if it was hectic. Then after a few weeks, when I completed everything for my diploma, I graduated high school and when I got my diploma from my dad on the podium in the gym, I had so many things going through my mind. Like, what was I going to do now? Of course, I didn't know so I decided to go with the flow. That summer I divided my time between skateboarding with the warboys, working at an ice cream shop, playing GTA 5 and going to parties. I had the occaisonal event, like getting my wisdom teeth removed, doing shrooms in the park and my Dumas dying and where I rescued my current cat, Shloma. The dating scene for me is hectic for me, of course, as I mask the person I really am when i'm in Alaska. Then, college started, that's when reality snapped back to me. I know that yuliyaposting is in the past but when you have so much of your past history in a specific place, you can't just ignore the past, you have to run away from it. Most of yuliyaposting took place in my town in Alaska, which is why I should have never started college here. When you have so much of your past in one place, whether it was good or bad, you can't just ignore it and move on, you have to run, run as far as possible and maybe come back.

Second Break-Up Reasons (10 months)

1. These are actually very closely aligned to the above.
2. Personal Interests
   1. She was very much a homebody and didn’t enjoy being social.
      1. We did align here but she lacked goals
   2. She had goals that focused on school but nothing in her personal life, there were no hobbies or interests she spent time pursuing.
   3. Our activities together were pretty standard in terms of relationships and things you do around town. We did museums, shows, dancing, etc. During our days together we sometimes didn’t see eye to eye on how to spend our time together.
   4. Our date nights were always great but followed the same routine. Community events and dinners at a new restaurant.
   5. Up until I had gotten her the bike I always felt like I was forcing her to join me hiking, go the trails, and be outside. She always participated and had a great time.
      1. Prior to the meeting I had built a routine around biking and switching to a low pace low energy lifestyle really upset me.
3. Christmas, Love, 1 year anniversary, valentines day, and birthday all in the next 60 days.
   1. The pressure around Christmas plays a good part in my reasoning for ending things. In retrospect, this shouldn’t have been the case. At the beginning of the Month, she provided me with 25 Christmas gifts in a basket. I didn’t know how to react to this, I hadn’t had a normal Christmas in years.
   2. It dawned on me that I always wanted the two of us to go biking together, and I always felt she could really use a bike to improve her own well-being. So I got her the bike.
   3. As Christmas grew closer and I was trying to find a bike and give her a great gift I began to question why I was doing this. Part of me felt like I had to because we were in a relationship and the other part was internalizing our entire relationship, was she the right one? I am putting in all this effort and is it worth it? Will she even like the bike? She’s never expressed interest in it
   4. In addition to Christmas, around that time everything about her changed, I very easily tell she was in love with me but afraid to tell me. This put even more pressure on making sure the Christmas gift. I also knew in 2 months we’d have a one-year anniversary.
   5. All of December I was so focused on the pressure of the relationship, making plans to be with her for Christmas, I began to disconnect from the relationship. It felt like things were moving really fast or were about to move very fast.
      1. I ended up convincing myself I wasn’t happy. I had put on weight, and I was becoming slightly aggravated with work…but because she always talked about the negative parts of her job. I felt like I was constantly splitting my weekends between what I wanted to do and what we wanted to do. I had worked so hard to be the person I was when we met and during our time together I lost that person. I knew that person had to change to accommodate her but I didn’t like the way it change.
      2. For Christmas I toyed with the idea of gifting her a key to my apartment, the idea being that I really wanted to move things forward with her, that I did love her, that I did want to change my life to better accommodate her.
      3. Did I love her though? I think so.
      4. I was scared that she was scared of telling me how she really felt about me. It made me nervous that there was something wrong in our relationship and the way we communicated.
   6. The Christmas Trip to Chicago
      1. The guy she went on the trip with is weird AF, I think she loves her, he pays for everything, takes her to sports games 2-3 hours away, and they've been very close friends for 10-15 years. Never dated, and she doesn't show nor talk about him in a way I should have any concern. Visually, this guy looks like a loser, but he is a very kind pushover.
      2. During Christmas, she opted to take a last-minute two-day trip to Chicago with her male friend Pinky. Her good friend I think is in love with her.
      3. The trip took place two days before Christmas during the really bad snowstorm. We had plans to be together for the holiday and go camping
      4. Her flight was delayed and she couldn’t come back until the 28th or 29th.
      5. I was devastated over this, I had finally come around to Christmas and was looking forward to having someone to spend the holiday with and it didn’t happen. This killed my entire Christmas mood and really made me question everything about us.
      6. She knew the storm was coming and before leaving knew there was a risk of missing Christmas but continued anyways. I don’t have an issue with pinky in the regard that she would cheat on me, but I really struggled to understand this relationship between the two of them.

Why the break-up

1. She has so much potential to be this amazing woman and she doesn’t even try. I know she has school and work…
   1. I had wished for a while that the feeling of guilt of spending time doing my own things would go away. May the would have if I had known on weekend mornings she was doing her own thing, spending time on herself instead of sleeping or watching crime shows.
   2. She has had some trauma around relationships in the past and this was a recurring conversation in our relationship. She made it very clear this was her first serious relationship where she felt safe and secure. This was the first relationship where she felt like her needs were being discussed and met. I eventually convinced her to get help with this which she did.
2. I became weary after she began seeking mental help. I was self-conscious about her finding out about my insecurities and those being identified by her therapist as reasons why we shouldn’t be together.
   1. I was open with her about everything in my life
   2. I didn’t even know if she was talking about our relationship
   3. She had the worst teeth, just needs to get those things cleaned.
   4. She has self-image issues, and while I always fault she was beautiful and extremely unique, she never really tried to work out with me or address these issues.
   5. We did try working out together once but it never stuck with her, this goes back to offering her a key to my apartment.
3. My Life was beginning to split into two:
   1. Our time together
   2. What I wanted for myself
   3. There was certainly overlap, and while people say you shouldn’t have similar interests as your partner, why is that? I would love if she was a more active person if she would have insisted on getting a bike to go out with me if she had more often entertained ideas for our time together that leaned more toward what I wanted to do
   4. Financial life - I want a house, I want to keep doing triathlons, I have big bike plans over the next few years. I wasn’t really ready to give up any of this, while there was no financial strain brought on by the relationship, relationships do require that you spend money and I sometimes felt like a dinner out could have been better used to finance a plane ticket or tri entry fee.
   5. I spent a lot of time each week trying to justify and how to explain to her that I was going to be gone half the day, on the two days a week we stayed together.
4. Moving in together
   1. I was so scared of this conversation. She needs to move out of her moms ASAP
   2. She considered moving in with her male best friend who I think is in love with her.
   3. She had a dog that wouldn’t fit in with my apartment.
   4. She often hinted at having this conversation
   5. During our breakup, I mentioned this and she did say it was way too early for that discussion.

Is part of a relationship supporting someone while they figure out who they are and what they want in life?

1. She had no idea what she wanted out of life, she very much had just begun to figure herself out. I am the one that forced her to do this.
2. She had a lot of self-confidence and image issues that stemmed from family and past relationships she hadn’t begun to understand
3. The conversation at Christmas about anxiety over having no plans or nothing to do for two weeks?
4. Did I overthink the pinky relationship?
5. Relationship with her ex, Jordan
   1. They met every Tuesday for dinner at a local food truck event
   2. She described their relationship as being a “situationship” they moved in together because they were dating at the same time they were both kicked out of their homes
   3. This is when she got the dog
   4. She mentioned he treated her extremely poorly
   5. When we got into her car his name was always on the “quick contacts” screen, but these contacts had never changed from our first date to the end of the relationship
   6. I never really tried to understand this relationship, the Tuesday dinner thing is something that has always happened, she’s been cheated on in the past, I never once felt she cheated on me with him, but I never understood why she hung on to this relationship. I assumed it was always a fall back plan.
   7. This guy was also invited to the graduation party.

The graduation party

1. She invited her work friends and myself, pinky, and Jordan. Again I just didn’t get this, especially since it was close family only

Physical Relationship

1. I have never connected physically and emotionally with someone like I did Michaela. During our discussion about our sex life we had a slight mismatch I was a few times-a-week person she was an everyday person but I learned to adjust.
2. The sex was amazing, again, I have never connected with someone like her before.
3. I’ve never felt more electric in a kiss with someone as I did with her.
4. I was always unhappy with her weight. At first, I thought it was because of my hated of bigger people, but it really came down to me not liking that she hated it but didn’t do anything about it.

Nags about the relationship:

2. I wish she was someone that would do everything with me, and we just didn’t have strong enough interest in each other's interests for this to happen.
3. Girl, you spend so much time watching tru crime shows, shut it off and learn about yourself
4. Quit your job, its toxic as fuck, hang out with your work friends less
5. Find a hobby, your significant other can’t be your entire life. Part of the reason we spent time figuring out what to do is that you don’t have any interests. Part of my guilt in the relationship was spending time doing my things while you were left at my apartment by yourself….watching tv
6. Get a teeth cleaning, fuck.
7. You’re beautiful and a head-turner, embrace it, and stop thinking so poorly of yourself.

After writing this out:

1. I think I ended things because of my fear of commitment
2. I did love her, but I spent a lot of effort convincing myself otherwise. I wish she could know this.
3. The pressure I put on myself regarding this relationship in December was unfair to both of us. She was being an amazing partner I was being selfish and looking for ways to not face these moments in our relationship
4. I don’t understand how to support someone and when it is correct to support someone in a relationship and what support needs to be sorted out on their own
5. I hope we cross paths again in the future, I think she’s going to end up being an even better match for me.
6. I realize that I was upset with her for not beginning to understand herself, and while she was certainly working toward it was in a manner different than what I did for myself to gain confidence and happiness in life
7. I wrote this after the mom letter, and I realize she made me extremely insecure about the relationship I had with my mother. She and her mother have a terrible relationship, almost verbally abusive in a way but she maintains a relationship with her. I was certainly afraid of her figuring out this could be an issue in our relationship or her therapist somehow indicating this is a red flag
8. I was so focused on trying to keep on top of being the best I could be, I put the relationship to the wayside, I became upset when I realized she wasn't trying to be the best she could be.

I (30f) know I can say this and know I'm heard. I fucking hate this. Some days seem so manageable and others seem intolerable. I had a horrible childhood growing up. I won't go into detail, as I know in this group I'm preaching to the choir, but I was raised in a strict Christian household, my father(deceased) molested me for years as a young child (6-8ish). My mother was physically, verbally, and emotionally abusive.
The last 3 weeks have been absolute hell. I had most of my spine fused together when I was 14, so my back isn't in the best condition. I had to drive myself to the ER on feb 28th because a pinched nerve in my neck was in agony. One CT later I'm told some of the screws in my spine are migrating and dangerously close to my aorta and thecal sac. Er doc literally told me if I trip and land wrong the screw could puncture my aorta and I can bleed out. I was able to see a neurologist that Friday, and thank god it was bad, but not that bad, and they sent me for an MRI the next Monday. I got something called MRI vertigo. Then I get home from that and our oldest dog had died. We expected it, her second round of cancer, but still. I leave from that to go to work (HS soccer coach) and after practice on the way to get dinner before my next practice this 16 yo girl tbones my van with 2 of my 3 kids on it, totaling the van. Luckily our injuries were minor, but we were supposed to leave on this big road spring break trip to Florida (20 hour drive) that Sunday, and now we have no car and $2500 invested in a trip we didn't know if we could take. Honestly at this point no one felt like going. And I had been numb to everything since receiving the bad news at the hospital. We deal with the insurance, find a car in time somehow, and we're able to go on our trip. We were going to a music festival, but also my husband's family is from there. 18 years married and the tension with my mother in law finally got so bad a huge fight happened between her and my husband and I'm now thinking we will go NC with her. She is a Christian, but I don't think it would be overexaggerating to call her a zealot. She sees evil in everything! We went and saw puss and boots thinking surely a kids movie is fine, and wrong, she made the whole thing miserable because she thought it was way too violent. The vacation wasn't a complete loss, but it wasn't great, and for how much money we spent it just seemed like such a fucking waste. We got back at 12:30 am on the Monday after spring break and I have to be up at 6:30 to go straight back into school and to soccer season, which is insanity. Finally today, sitting in the waiting room of a doctors office, I had the same thought I've been having for weeks, which is I'm really suprised this hasn't hit yet. And that made it hit, in a room full of people. I managed to hold it in, aside from a few small breakdowns when I was alone (seriously think crying while using the bathroom). And I was at the appointment between soccer games because our school was hosting a soccer tournament. I finally, finally get home (gone from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm), manage to greet my family somewhat reasonably, then I went to my room and as soon as the door closed I fucking broke. Every emotion I haven't felt for the last several weeks keep hitting and everytime I think I'm done I remember something else and 20 more emotions flatten me. I want to scream, but know I will be heard and I don't want that audience. I was better numb. Now I can't quit crying, it's been over an hour, and now I'm fucking exhausted. Physically mentally emotionally drained. I know my husband and is in the house worried. My kids are thinking moms crazy is showing again. And all this in a ton of pain because my body fucking sucks.
Tldr: I disassociated due to several bad things happening in quick succession, medical issues, car wreck, dog died, big family fight. Everything caught up with me today and now I'm a sobbing mess and it's exhausting! Does anyone else get exhausted after a bad manic episode?

Hey, everyone, I am looking for a help. We are cycling through Colombia to Ecuador with our bicycles (now we are in Tocaima). And we can see that it is way to hot for us to cycle from Girardot to Neiva (as we have planned originally). Are there any options/services to get a private truck or car to bring three people + bicycles + our panniers from Girardot to San Agustin? We would like to continue cycling from there.

Throwaway. I (20f) am flying to another country tomorrow for spring break. I told my best friend of 2 years (20m), let’s call him Bob, that I wanted to focus on family and would be totally logged out of everything for about two weeks. He was fine with this, but suggested we spend an evening together the night before my flight. I know we both have separate lives and, me being the worrier that I am, asked if he was sure. He said yes, then texted “Unless it’s a dire emergency, or I don’t feel well, I promise nothing will get in the way of our evening”. Shortly after, we began planning the evening together.
We ended up deciding to watch a movie and visit an arcade. The whole thing would take about 3 hours, and since we decided to go at 5pm, there would be time after for our own separate things. I purchased the movie tickets even though I don’t have much money because Bob agreed to pay for the snacks we got there.
About five hours ago, I texted Bob asking what time I should pick him up. He said 4:50, since it’s a short drive. I noticed he was streaming a game to two of his friends and asked if he was sure he wanted to continue with our plans- I had no issue with canceling because I could still get refunded, and because we talk often. Bob said yes, and when I asked why, he said it was because he streams to his friends every day for multiple hours (often clocking in at 5 or 6 on class days, and over 12 on weekends) and could use a break from it.
It’s been a few hours and Bob is still streaming. I texted him once at 4:30 to remind him of our plans, but was ignored- I am able to see the “read” message and know he saw it. I’m slightly upset, but nothing more than slight annoyance.
It’s very much past 4:50 as I’m typing this, and I can tell that Bob has no intention of ending his stream soon. The movie showtime has passed, meaning I can no longer be refunded as well. It’s not the end of the world, but I want to know if I will be the asshole if I get annoyed later in the evening with him for breaking his promise.
Will I be the asshole?
Edit: some people are asking if I went to pick him up. I did- I waited on his street for 20 minutes (from 4:40 to 5), with a text saying I was outside, and a call at 4:50. I did not get out of my car (we both live in dorms)

So i did this and I'm kinda done being called stupid for doing it i know it was dumb i just need advice they totaled the truck and one i don't have insurance that will cover me and two i don't have a job that pays enough for that (I'm in highschool can't get a second job)
Edit: more details my mom owns the car both cars have insurance but I'm not on the insurance policy for the one i was driving i am at fault they weren't in the truck at the time they totaled the car since i bent the frame the car i was driving has insurance but i wasn't on the policy I live in Texas
