Build a dino t rex cafe

So, my eldest son (23) has recently moved back home after living abroad for 5 years. He works in the hotel industry and while living away worked in a bar. Concerns had been raised in the past over his drinking habits but he was in another country so it was hard to actually know.
It was a difficult decision for him to move back home and he saw it as a failure (despite my reassurances about how much he has achieved etc) We live in a very rural area and he doesn’t drive so is relying on me to get him to and from work. (This is more of a mild inconvenience to me than a problem)
A few days ago he rang me earlier than expected and asked me to collect him and it became very clear that he was drunk.
Turns out he started to drink before work and decided not to stop including him drinking in his hotel. His manager had noticed something wasn’t right and sent him home.
Initially I was angry with him (I regret this in all honesty because I know he would have already felt embarrassed about it and it was also my birthday) but when I got him I asked him was he ok and what had happened and he talked a bit about how he had felt anxious about going in as he had been off sick and another manager had told him he had ruined his and his wife’s anniversary because he couldn’t get his shift covered (I was very angry at this) so this was his trigger.
He talked about how miserable he feels which I totally understand but he was very drunk so it wasn’t the right time to talk properly.
Credit to him he got up the next day and went into work to face the music (I’d have rang first because I wouldn’t have been able for that or more than likely just never went back and avoid going in the building ever again!) luckily his manager (the one who blamed him for ruining his anniversary) was very accommodating and he still has his job.
He is obviously very delicate atm so I don’t feel it’s the right time to dig deeper (only happened two days ago and “the fear” is real!) but we obviously will be sitting down to have a conversation about it this evening.
Some background;
Drink is a thing in my family. My mother was an alcoholic and died due do it when I was a child. My father also had drink problems but not the same way as my mother. As he got older and after two strokes he spent a long time drinking to excess. My brother and sister are both addicts and I myself have had issues with excessive drinking in the past so this is far from something new!
But it is my opportunity to do something none of the others have done yet. I can help him but this is where the advice is needed.
I was 18 when I had my son and he didn’t have the stability a child needs. He’s very deep and emotional and we both use meditation and spirituality to help support us BUT I am responsible for some of the things he experienced as a child and as much as I am more than willing to do the work and help him heal I know it’s going to be hard.
So what the actual f*ck am I gonna do 😂
How can I help my son?

In my life, I’ve learned the depths to which tyrants will go to keep their power. After the war against the Federation, almost everyone had. For centuries, the Federation had lied, manipulated, stolen, murdered, done anything no matter the moral cost, to keep its citizens in its grasp, to stay in control. But they made one fatal mistake, one misstep that would loosen their hold on their slaves just long enough for someone to step in and challenge them. That mistake was angering Mankind. When the dust had settled and the bullets had stopped flying, the UN found treasure troves of stolen knowledge all across the home-systems of the founders of the Federation, the Kolshians and Farsul. Endless libraries of atrocities done and culture stolen, of memories erased and lives destroyed. So much irreversible damage done just to keep their people locked in mental chains. This is why early in life I decided to become a historian. I wanted to uncover and reintroduce the cultures, ideas, and truths that the Federation had wanted to burn to ash. At the age of 19, I was accepted into the then newly opened Meiers Institute of Knowledge. MIK was named after the former leader of the UN, a man who was described as compassionate and caring by nearly everyone who met him, said to be a hero. The MIK was built to let those ideas blossom forth, by providing unrestricted knowledge and education to anyone that wanted it. During my time at MIK, because of the instruction and guidance provided by my teachers, my distrust of non-humans slowly faded. I made friends and learned things I would remember for the rest of my days. Several years later I reluctantly left the college that had become my home with a doctorate in history. I’m now 31 years old, and several days ago I received a message from the UN Office of the Historian, stating that I and several others had been invited to the new capitol building on Aafa for a special job offering. <<>> As I wake, I notice how cold I feel. [Had I left the window open last night?] I think to myself. I rub my eyes and grab for my blanket, only managing to grab a handful of cloth from my shirt. I open my eyes to properly aim for the blanket this time only to witness an empty room. No… That isn’t the correct way to describe it… This isn’t an empty room, this is the lack of a room. All around me is nothing but darkness. I try to lift myself off my bed only to realize there is nothing beneath me. I’m the only matter that I can see in this void. [What the fuck.] [What the fuck!?] I begin panicking as my brain fully switches on, only now am I fully awake and aware of my situation. I flail my limbs around, trying to turn myself around to no avail as I float through the emptiness. I try to take in a breath only to inhale nothing. Vivid memories of nearly drowning at a vacation by the beach fill my mind. The space in my brain is packed full of questions by now. [Wha- what the hell is happening? Where’s the air? How am I alive? Is this a dream?] I begin calming down, wildly flailing my arms and legs is going to do nothing for me. A glow begins illuminating the backside of my arms, heating them like warm sunlight. I try to turn around, somehow managing to do so this time. Light sears itself into my very soul as I stare forward at the object before me. I am seated at the edge of a star, its radiance beaming itself onto me as if it is some divine judge weighing the sins of my heart. Tendrils of superheated plasma ripple around it, like arms through water, effortlessly keeping the orb afloat. A thunderous whisper echoes through the twisting and winding corridors of my mind. Paradoxically seeming both deafening and silent simultaneously. It is in a language I have never heard before and yet I understand the message all the same. “Find us. We await.” For the second time today, I wake up. This time I am in my warm bed in my home on Venlil Prime. The memory of the star does not fade away, as the imagery in my dreams usually do. I stretch and drag my legs off the side of the bed, acclimating my eyes to the ever-present twilight of the Venlil homeworld. I grab a picture frame holding an old photo of me and my parents off my bedside table. Their smiles warming me slightly. I hug the picture-frame into my chest. It’s been 3 years but I still miss them every day. “I wish you were still here, so much. I hope I made you proud.” I perform my daily routine and get myself tidy before putting on my clothes. Today is the day that the UN is sending a ship to pick me up. I've gotta look my best if I’m gonna be meeting such important people. I walk through the main hallway of my house, glancing at the art adorning the walls as I pass by. Ever since the knowledge that the Federation has been performing cultural genocide for centuries became public, the market for historians and other professions tasked with discovering the past sky-rocketed. Despite the high pay though, my house was relatively small. A bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, and some various utility and storage rooms was all I needed. I didn’t need a fancy living-space, that wasn’t what made me happy. What made me happy was the work I was doing for the people of the Coalition. Bringing back art and stories from ancient times, reintroducing species to a past and culture that they could be proud of. THAT was what fueled me. I looked at my holopad and realized I only had 15 minutes before my ship arrived at the spaceport. I hurriedly filled a reusable cup with coffee and rushed out the door, no time for breakfast. I hopped in my car, buckled my seatbelt, turned my key, and backed out of the driveway onto the street, speeding down the road as fast as the anti-grav engine in my car would allow me. There is no way I’m missing an opportunity like this. As I drove, the spaceport came into view. It towered above all the buildings surrounding it, making them seem miniscule in comparison. Ships swarmed around the structure like bees around a hive, loading and unloading cargo and passengers alike. 5 minutes. I drew into a parking space in the underground garage. Removing my key and deactivating my vehicle. I slammed the door shut perhaps a little too hard and locked the doors with my keyfob as I sprinted towards the elevators to the top of the port. It took the lift around 50 seconds to travel nearly 300 stories into the sky. I bolted out of the barely opened doors, startling a Venlil couple and nearly knocking over an older looking man wearing a suit. I blurted out an apology and quickly said I was late before dashing off, the man looking more confused than annoyed. I took a quick look at my holopad. 2 minutes. As I ran, I glanced at the signage on the walls. 587 588 589
560! I made my way into the hangar, straightening out my tie as I walked through the doors. I tried to hide how out of breath I was, these suits were not made for running. The ship was sleek and quite large, undoubtedly suited for luxury purposes, the UN did not spare any expense for its guests it seemed. I walked up the boarding ramp and as the airlock opened, a man stood there to greet me. He was an older gentleman, slightly taller than me. He smiled and outstretched his hand. “Hello, I take it that you’re James! The ship is ready for you to depart. My name is Harold and I’ll be your attendant for the flight.” He spoke enthusiastically with a southern drawl. I grasped the man’s hand and shook it. “I hope I didn’t take too long to arrive.” “Don’t worry son, you’re fine. It’ll take a couple days to reach Aafa so make yourself comfortable, down the hall behind me is the bar, lounge, and eating area, and further down are the sleeping quarters with accompanying bathrooms.” Before I could respond, Harold spoke again. “There’ll be another passenger onboard, allow me to take you to them.” The man stepped aside and followed as I walked down the hall to the lounge. The room was quite large, filled with expensive looking furniture and art. To my right was a small dining table and beyond that a kitchen. I looked to my left and felt my heart skip a beat as I locked eyes with a small Venlil with speckled white wool and orange eyes. She stared back, looking equally shocked.

So me personally, I focused mostly on the story until I finished it meaning I was done at level 38.
I didn’t skip any cutscenes or dialogue and even clicked on every “white 3 dots” character. Still I thought the zones were forgettable and had no character.
I really would’ve liked an NPC that tells us a little something about a new zone once we enter it.
“This place is called X and a hellhole for reasons Y. Tribes A and B live here and kill each other all the time.” - something along those lines would’ve been nice imo.
But now that I’m on my renown grind and doing all the side quests, they do SO much for world building. You don’t really learn anything about the world without them. But there are so many everywhere, you literally learn about every little shitty town which is just amazing. I’m loving them a lot.

So we’ve been looking into buying a running business, between a car workshop, my expertise, or a cafe, wife’s preference. Also toying with the idea of opening up in a cloud kitchen.
Obviously a running business generates cash day one.
However the wife is dubious, she doesn’t believe anyone would sell a profitable, successful business and there must be a “reason” they are selling. I am of the thinking there could be plenty of legit reason and it’s down to us to do out due diligence.
Just wanted peoples thoughts and if there was anything extra to consider in the UAE?

I need advice for how to break things off with the person I’m dating. We’ve been on and off for about 9 months. I know the answer might seem obvious to some but I’m genuinely struggling with it.
So the person I’m dating (m36) and I (f23) had a fight the other day and I actually was so upset by a violation of trust that I tried to break up over text. He wouldn’t stop calling and messaging and I’m very bad at dealing with confrontation and he was upset so I backed down. A week later I tried to break up in person, he got upset again and pushed back so I backed down again.
The violation of trust and the way he handled it made me realise I will never feel heard in our relationship. He only accepts his perspective as the truth and won’t take on board my perspective. He knows I have trust issues from a past violation of trust by him but any time I ask him to help build it back with me I’m dismissed.
I care about him quite a lot, we’re very close in a lot of ways, there’s a lot of good qualities of his and I hate seeing him hurt. I hate the thought of hurting him and I’m pretty sure the break up will hurt him. But if I stay I’m hurting myself and I just can’t do it anymore. I’m not happy.
It’s also complicated because we work together so will see each other around (not every day but every week).
What I am asking is, how do I break up? Is there any way I can minimise hurting him? Is there any way I can get him to accept it, or do I need to be very harsh to be heard? Thank you for your time reading this.
Tl;dr person I’m dating won’t listen to me or accept that I want to break up, looking for strategies to be heard and break up

I had such a strange and realistic dream last night. It wasn’t a nightmare but it created so much fear I woke up still thinking I was going to be killed.
So, what I remember was that I had been created in a genetics lab by some guy I referred to as father (he kind of looked like David bowie dressed as a 1700’s goth vampire thing) me and the rest of the lab made people were allocated a set of houses, while father had this facility that was like some sort of compound that was able to pack itself up into a platform and fly away.
What he wanted to do was create these “super geniuses” as he called them, he would test me and the other people regularly. The tests were usually to see what I could make out of given materials, making a knife out of a stone and some leather and etc
I’m not sure how long I was there but it must’ve been a couple of days before he rounded up people that scored best on the tests and brought them into the facility.
No one questioned it, but that night armed men bust through my door. I was upstairs and there were people downstairs they went for first. I heard the other test subjects being dragged outside and shot. I used the commotion to sneak outside. Everything was on fire and there was screaming everywhere. I was seen and these sea lion creatures were sent after me by the soldiers. I ran to fathers compound to tell him what was happening, he was the one who ordered it though.
And then, get this, the whole platform just takes off. I remember looking down at the ground and seeing the soldiers rounding up the last of the subjects and killing them.
I was meant to be killed but it was decided I would pass into round 2. Me and the remaining “genius” people were scanned on our wrists.
For the next few days I was tested on and made to build more objects. I tried to convince the other people that father was going to purge us again. However, these people hadn’t seen the first purge and didn’t believe me.
When father found out I was telling people he tried to execute me, but there were too many of the test subjects around. Instead he told me there would be another roundup and purge.
No one else believed me when I said we had to run so I went off myself into some woods and hid behind the trees.
The purge did happen and I heard people being taken out of their homes and killed.
The last thing I recall there was search dogs after me.
After I woke up from this dream I was still looking for where in my room I could hide and still thought there were people after me. It is probably one of the scariest and most lifelike dreams I’ve had.

I finished the game, if I were a few years younger I would have actually cried from how much passion and love was put into this. Despite its little flaws, this is still the definitive game of utmost passion and a masterstroke of gameplay, art direction, world-building, and plot. There is so much more to say, especially if you have been a long-time Zelda fan and you can see how this legacy is only possible because so many people have written for the history of Hyrule and the many games that built up upon it. What a fucking game, thank you Nintendo for showing how it should be done in a world of unfinished released AAA games, micro-transactions, and conditioned shorter attention spans. This goes down in gaming history so fucking hard.

This is a story of *two*, and it felt like the story of two.

This is the definitive Ganondorf experience, the last boss fight was spectacular. The master sword has so much gravitas to it and its involvement can be felt throughout the plot. Some may call the plot generic and predictable but I feel like that overlook the fact that this is the most involved that Zelda and Ganondorf have been. Especially for what Zelda has to go through, she really went through her own adventure "at the same time" as our protagonist. Honestly, what they did with her sacrifice and her storyline was beautiful. It is also kind of bittersweet that she likely is the only Zelda that has continuously suffered loss after loss, she bonded with the champions, lost them because she felt it was her fault and then she had to lose the King and Queen that she bonded with too. But decided against the damsel in distress role and willingly put herself through 20,000 years (without knowing whether she would be conscious or asleep) to fight Ganondorf. Might be the only time the title of the series actually meant something. I just love what they did with her character.

Everything was so fucking cinematic, so well framed, and the game ending with Link saving Zelda drawing a parallel to when he failed to save her the first time was beautiful. In the scenes with Link confronting Ganondorf, it really feels like he is pissed to the bone and is looking to give a beatdown for all the shit he and Zelda have been put through by Ganondorf. The scene with the twin dragons got me on goosebumps overdrive.
The side characters, even with the little screen time they have, are charming especially if you've played BoTW. It is a good feeling to see how they have grown since the first game and to actually not feel alone for once when they fought with you at the end. It's such a shounen manga moment that I can't help but adore the hell out of it.

The true ending can be taken as the true ending for this Zelda universe and it will be fine. I want a third game but can understand why it shouldn't/need not be necessary. There's so much to do and Hyrule will always feel alive. The story doesn't need to go on from here.

All in all, I'll miss this game and I'll miss Hyrule but I will revisit it from time to time. I don't usually, or I never really, do this for games I finish. I'll end something after I reach the story ending and never look back, this is one game that I don't see happening because of how alive it is. In terms of how much love is put into a game, this is number 1. From the music, the gameplay, the world, the characters, and the art direction. You can tell that everyone who worked on this fucking loved it.
A big, big shout out to the music, the OST will be looping for years to come when I do my work.
Did I say how good this game was? This game was very good.

Unfortunately I couldn’t snap a picture because I immediately caught it and took it outside, so I can only describe it: - my first guess was around 2 cm length, but it was probably less. - it looked like an oversized ant, the body was blackish brown - i live in mainland europe, if that helps
Honestly it kinda freaked me out. I have never seen an ant (?) this big and I worry there might be more of them building a nest, if it even was an ant
(so sorry I couldn’t take a picture! I know it would’ve been better than my description but I honestly didn’t think of it)

I’ve been single for the past 7 years or so and for the most part am pretty content with it. Still if it happens eventually I’d be happy with that as well.
The thing is, as a single guy I often see the sides of women they don’t usually show their husbands.
Most recently yesterday, I was out drinking for the first time in a while and met a girl. She was easy to talk to and we had fun. Later that night we made out. She admitted that she’s in a relationship later on but that I was just such a cute guy.
I mean we didn’t have sex but she said if there was a bed, she would’ve done it.
The thing that scares me is that we talked a bit about her boyfriend and apparently they are in a happy relationship. They recently build a house together and even own a company.
How can I start to trust someone if all I get to see are things like that. Every relationship I witnessed around me went down the drain eventually except for my grandparents.

Within nature, animals generally pick the genetically superior mate. Within mammals and especially apes, the female is generally the enabler of the relationship. They select males based on who has better genes for; protecting, hunting, foraging, health, general survivability, etc. These males have a slight bias towards quantity, but will only accept the relationship if the female shows good reproductive and child bearing traits.
Animal evolution is a mix of large scale adaption/mutation and genetic selection of traits.
Back in the days of our pre-historic ancestors, human lifespan was often short. Often not because of general poor health, but death from predators, starvation or infection. This meant the average lifespan was much shorter than todays standards. Genetic selection was essentially about who was the best mate to survive within the short lifespan they had.
Nowadays, even people that die “early” in their 50s/60s, still lived much longer than the average pre-historic Homo sapien. But obviously as we know, death at such an age is considered premature, as we can live much longer than this.
The great thing about modern civilisation is that we now see how people live and deal with health up until old age, genetic selection can be refined even further. Instead of selecting mates that are great at surviving in the short term only, now you can predict who will succeed and live to old age with good health based on various judgements about them. Not only this, but intelligence has become such a dominant factor in all areas of life; obtaining resources, health, survivability, etc.
Healthcare, food access, education, technology, sanitation, etc. The pillars of modern civilisation have allowed us to build a utopia - at least compared to ancestral standards.
But the side effect of building this utopia, is that the bottom end of the gene pool can now survive longer and contribute to humanity more than before. This post isn’t me leading up to some idea of a dystopian eugenics based society, where we do something to people with “poor” genes. No, let me explain the best solution.
The reason why people are born with “poor” genes in the first place are for these reasons; lineage genetic mutations, sperm/egg DNA damage, poor nutrition within the womb, exposure to toxins within the womb, inbreeding, etc. But the thing is, these are things we can actively control.
Starting with the last one. We’ve now demonised inbreeding to such a level that it’s incredibly rare for it to happen. For the rare people with genetic mutations that came from inbreeding, they can mate with a someone that hasn’t come from inbreeding - slowly fizzling out the poor genes over many generations, especially when mixing with diverse genes.
Nutrition and toxins within the womb are well known, though obviously still a problem. The amount of mothers that smoke, drink alcohol or even take drugs when pregnant is too high. The only acceptable number is 0. We have a long way to go for this to improve, I’m not sure how to improve this, but education certainly helps. Nutrition within the womb is important, nutrition in general is also an aspect that society as a whole needs to focus on. The amount of people that are overweight, obese and/or have disease related to diet is shocking and increasing by the year. We really need to fix this issue. We may have to start heavily taxing all junk food companies, like we do with cigarettes.
With regards to sperm/egg DNA damage, this ties into the above factors. Research shows a poor diet results in DNA mutation within sperm/eggs, environmental toxins also play a part in this DNA damage. This is why dietary health is actually way more important than everyone thinks. What enters our body literally influences our offspring and the future of humanity. If we continue down this path of dietary sickness, we will slowly devolve into an inferior version of ourselves. We already see the warning signs today. The advent of plastics and its contamination in our food/water supply has already been linked to the stark increase in male sexual development issues. If toxins like these are not removed from our consumption, this will have grave effects for humanity in the next few hundred years. On another note, we’ve also started to see a decline in IQ - which is primarily based on genetics. What’s in our body is literally affecting the intelligence of our offspring.
Lastly comes lineage genetic mutations. We can’t really remove these from DNA, at least not naturally. Some of us are just born with undesirable traits. However, we can certainly improve the overall genetic makeup our offspring by mating with another race. A mixture of genes is desirable in nature, versus mixing similar genes together - which produces more undesirable traits. This is why scientists promote “race mixing” so much. Race mixing, in combination with the other factors I’ve discussed, will produce offspring that are; taller, stronger, higher IQ, better looking, longer living, etc. I’m sure we all want our offspring to hold these traits.
We don’t need any fancy genetic engineering technology or eugenic programmes. All we need to do as a species is take the upmost care of our planet, eliminate as much toxins from our food/water supply and manufacturing processes as possible, promote eating healthily and forming healthy habits in general, but especially during pregnancy.
The future of humanity is what you put inside you. We need to do better.

The goal this offseason is simple, building a roster to win next season. There could be multiple ways to do that, but here is one possible option:

It’s a fair deal and he’s a massive part of what we do here. Enough said

• Trade JP + Moody + 19 +25,26,27 2nd for DFS + Dinwiddie

Im not doing these terrible Poole deals for these middling role players like Olynyk or these huge risks like Isaac. If the goal is salary dumping then you trade the older and bigger salary, no one dumps 24 year olds. I’m either going all out for a star, or I’m grabbing 2 role players, one of which is an elite role player who I think could start on a lot of contenders. I think this is a pretty good win for both sides. The Nets can’t tank, so the best thing they can do right now is to retool while getting younger. The Nets need scoring, and Poole is a more than capable #2 option behind Bridges and an upgrade over Dinwiddie but you need to surround him with great defense. Do Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Royce O’Neale, and Claxton sound like good defenders? I sure think so. Meanwhile we get another great defensive wing and a good Poole replacement. Now the Nets may be valuing DFS at 3 firsts, but since he’s 30 years old I’ll value him at around 2. Again I do think JP is a Dinwiddie upgrade, especially for the Nets. I think Moody and 3 seconds will make up the difference, if not we can swap out a few seconds for a future first.
Then I’d like to sign a spacing big, I’ll go with what looks to be this sub’s dream choice in Dario Saric.
I’ll also sign Serge Ibaka. Not because I want to play him, but to use him in certain matchups like Jokic for some post physicality and a couple fouls. Won’t hurt. Could also sign Dwight instead but he seems to embrace Taiwan right now (LOL).
This leaves us with 1 more signing, and since we now have 3 non-Dray bigs and Wiggins, Kuminga, GP2, AND DFS for defense, I think it’s obvious we go emergency point guard. I personally would like a vet like Goran, but because it’s a guy who barely plays I’ll go Ty Jerome. I personally do not think he’s good, but he’s on Kerr’s good side and for the most part should be a garbage time player.
This leaves us with:

This to me looks like we’re not actually downgrading our team for the sake of moving Poole, but spreading out the talent among multiple positions.
