I live in a very hot place, and it's always hot here. My body's skin is always dry but not patchy. This is going to be a very long post. Body Soaps: I always try different soaps, so once in a while, I go to the supermarket and get 5 or 6 soaps that I have never used before. I rarely buy them online. I hate soaps that leave the skin very dry or too slippery, making me feel like I didn't wash it. Repurchasing is almost never done, except for a few that really impressed me. https://preview.redd.it/2zv9hu31uwqa1.jpg?width=1496&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=21702c6a715ff5c763ed66842dd1b519604f806c - Park Avenue: I never used one from them, so I picked it up at Dmart, but I was also a little worried if the fragrance was going to be strong. I liked it right away because it's a white bar with a light fragrance. It doesn't strip my skin but leaves it moisturized without being slippery. I felt like using a soap that was half like Dove but not very creamy. If you hate dove but need a moisturizing one, try this. Price-wise, it's a little high compared to many commonly found soaps. WRP. Already got the second bar.
- Soulflower Tomato: The soap bar is big, but the fragrance is so strong for me that it fills the bathroom even without me using it. It has a strong mix of fragrances, which I don't like sometimes but am ok with sometimes. On the very first use, I didn't like it much, but after that, I started to like it. This soap was very different from others I've used; it feels like a gel-type soap that easily gets applied to the skin and foams well. Not stripping, not moisturizing—just normal. Price-wise, it's high for soap, so I might not RP unless I get a very good offer. I bought this on their Rs. 1 soap offer, but you need to pay to ship of Rs. 99, so I ordered it with a few other products.
- Lux: I used to repurchase Lux primarily for the fragrance, but it is a soap that only has fragrance and does nothing else but strips the skin. This bar dad just got back from a trip to Sri Lanka and saw the INCI order change a bit. WNRP.
- Khadi Natural (not in picture): One of the soaps I really like. I first got their 12-piece mini-size set to know which variant It is a glycerin soap that is not stripping or drying, like the fragrance. I always repurchase rose water, jasmine, and haldi. I enjoy rose water fragrance in products, and this gives the perfumer's rose water, which is used in functions, a pleasant aroma. Always RP I recently found it was available at the DMart in my town, so I got it there, but Jasmin is not available with them. Good price; you can get it online for around Rs. 50 after the offer.
- Rani Sandalwood: I don't remember how it was because I used it about 4 years ago, and I didn't find this one anywhere in South India. Dad got it on his trip with the Lux; it's made in Sri Lanka. I like its fragrance; other things I forgot, so I will open this next month, then I will update the review.
Body Washes: I was not a fan of body washes, but lately, I started trying out some because of a change in fragrance. I don't always use them daily, and I also don't like body washes that leave a slip. https://preview.redd.it/n1put5k5uwqa1.jpg?width=1496&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c819224f88616fd8324ba8e49e2315a052bdefe4 - Biotique Apricot: I got it a while back because I heard good reviews about it and also because the price was affordable. I really like the peachy fragrance this gives off; it's a thick gel that does the job well and doesn't leave a slip. The only and only product I liked from this whole brand. WNRP I got a different product that has a peachy fragrance.
- Dove Gentle Exfoliating: I got it again after seeing good reviews online and hearing that it helps with Bacne. The wash is a very thick cream that has tiny beads on it; the beads don't really feel like scrubs, so it's not a problem. I really don't like this too-thick texture, and yes, this leaves the skin moisturized, but it also leaves a slip, so use extra water to wash it off. Sometimes I love using it, but it takes a long time to empty. I still have half of it left when I start to get bored of it, but currently, this is the good one among the other ones I'm using. Nope, it didn't help with body acne. WNRP
- Plum Caramel: My favorite of all in here, I always use this one when I feel like getting some extra care for myself. It's a cream-type wash that has a really sweet caramel fragrance that also stays on the skin for some time if you don't follow it with a fragranced body lotion. I once used this before a car trip early in the morning, and I was able to smell this fragrance on the car and on myself an hour or two after using it. I use only one pump of it, but sometimes, if I take two pumps by mistake, I find the sweetness of the fragrance to be too much. WRP is planning to get this whole caramel set on a good sale next time.
- Boho Botanist Rose: As this one says rose, I would think the fragrance would be nice, but no, I can't really smell roses in it; it just smells like a floral. Not heavy, the gel is runny, and I found this one to be very average. I got it with a free kit from Foxy. WNRP.
- Boho Botanist Almond(Not in pic): I just opened this one a few days ago, and I don't know what fragrance it has, which I don't like much. I would say this is more of a body oil wash than a body wash; it's very watery and doesn't later or even get applied to the skin; instead, it emulsifies like using a cleansing oil on the body. Also, this needs more than 25 mL for just one wash. WNRP.
Deodrants: I have body odor, which I inherited from my father, but I spend most of my time indoors and prefer mild fragrances. https://preview.redd.it/caf18u48uwqa1.jpg?width=1496&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e418d6b0eac65ac95e2bf8da102570c2b4e0a97c - Carmesi Citrus Sea: I got this to know how the fragrance of it is, which is like men's perfume and a refreshing fragrance. This is more suitable for outdoors and does control odor better than the other 2. It does stay long. The price is very low, and it lasts me two months. I got it for $150 from the brand's site. WRP already got it after the sweet and the sunset got over.
- Carmesi Sweet Summer: This one has a very mild sweet fragrance, which I like, and I use it after my evening shower as the fragrance doesn't bother me. It doesn't control odor well but lasts if I don't sweat much. Might RP if I want to change from the AHA one.
- Chemist at Play AHA Peach: I got it after hearing so many positive reviews online. The deodorant lasts me 24 hours and really worked on my dark underarms. I saw a visible change after using it for more than a month. Controls odor so well; it has a peachy scent that is not very strong. WRP, the price is high, so I will only get it on any BOGO offer on the brand's site.
- Carmesi Floral Sunset: I got this together with the summer one. This has a strong floral fragrance, which is good for use outdoors I don't like this fragrance but my sister likes it. I will RP either this or Cirtus for my sister.
Body Lotions: I don't usually apply lotion every day, but I'm trying to make it a habit. The most important aspect of body lotion I look for is that it is not sticky and well-scented. https://preview.redd.it/ur1ih359uwqa1.jpg?width=1496&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ef5f32259bf0741dffe5cd5fb9fd6a3be95bdf44 - Nivea Aloe Gel: I got this as a replacement one because the other Nivea lotion I got was damaged from the store. I was very much looking forward it to being good but it's a huge HF. The gel melts when it touched the skin, does not at all hydrate or moisturize, and is very sticky on the skin folds, very disappointing product other than looking good all are 0. WNRP.
- Derma co Vitamin E: The lotion is quite thick but on applying it gets absorbed onto the skin fully, I can't even feel like I applied a lotion which you get from using any other lotions, really nice to use in summer but for winter it will not be enough. Any changes I saw after using it means I don't think I did notice anything visible change. Claims to be hydrating but it's not really hydrating. For people who don't like lotions that you can feel on the skin then this works well. Might RP.
- Love Beauty & Planet Lavender: I fell for the color of the bottle and ordered this instead of Coconut. I regret getting it as the fragrance is too strong even my dad asked me why I'm wearing strong perfume at home. Moisturing is all good not sticky. I like their lotion but hate this fragrance I couldn't stand using it so I decided to empty it fast by applying more. WNRP this lavender but instead I got the coconut one.
- Suganda Lactic: I don't have KP or Strawberry legs so I can't tell if it worked for that, other than that I liked it very lightweight and absorbed well no issue with it. Don't buy the scented it has nothing but a raw citrus fragrance that is too mild butter to buy unscented. I did see some changes in my skin texture. MR, when there are, offers the unscented version.
- Ponds Triple Vitamin: This one is underrated, it's really nice to use it the fragrance is not like rose type but floral, it's very hard for me to like the floral fragrance but I liked this one, moisturizing light, and not sticky. Most favorite is when I mix this one and plum vanilla body oil together the fragrance is so nice. I get the small bottle cause it is easy to carry for travel. WRP.
- Plum Vanilla Body Oil: I like this one the only body oil I use but sometimes it feels very sweet so mostly I mix it with the ponds. Everyone in my family likes this, everyone who asks for coconut to apply for dry skin on the body I give them this and they all like it. My grandmother also liked it. Little pricy to buy without a good offer so WRP is only on sale.
- Loee Bobvn: At the start, a few uses I didn't like the fragrance when using it in winter but in summer I love it, Very light and nice, does the job My and sister both use it and almost empty. Might RP as of now I have many other lotions to use.
- Vaseline SPF30 Sunscreen Pa++: Very good sunscreen for the body, lightweight, and has no white cast but it's not water resistant. I have reapplied it 3 times using it and never felt heavy or greasy. It has the usual lotion kind of fragrance. I use 10 - 15 pumps for just the hands. Apply only on places that would be exposed to sunlight. Very sad part the SPF30 is low and only PA++. No, it didn't tan my skin and also I have not stayed more than an hour in extreme sun. WPR if I didn't find anything better to replace this.
Perfumes: I always prefer mild-scented fragrances. At home, my dad and I are the only people who use fragrances; others hate perfumes. https://preview.redd.it/qkqpimkauwqa1.jpg?width=1496&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0eb2c034c5e433e44ba2d5d44e3fefca36d396b - BBW Dark Kiss: Fell into the hype and got it and oh no it's strong and the scent really bothers me, everyone hates it so so much. Doesnt last also long. Never worth paying so much or buying on offers too. WNRP.
- Plum Everythin Plum: Again it was a new launch and the fragrance notes looked good so immediately got it on launch and it's strong, it's a mix of fruity, citrus, and less sweet which is strong. After one spray I did not go near it. WNRP Next time think of buying a vanilla one.
- Engage Spell: My favorite and easily available one, the fragrance is so mild no matter how much I spray it doesn't bother my nose yet stays really for a long time. Being using it since my school time it's now more than 5+ years. Alwaya RP.
- Plum Rose: Got it has a free gift on my order wow it's really nice, very mild, and has only rose fragrance. Many ppl around me liked it. Just a rose fragrance, not a strong floral type. My aunt liked it a lot and asked me to get one for her. Lasts for a good time. Might RP this or vanilla.
- Zudio Wild: Dad got this one from the shop when he took this I checked the tester it felt strong too but I was curious to open it so I used it first and it was not strong at all, I really like it but I won't say it mild it average. Always me and dad using this one only when going out. Almost empty. Just 99rs very affordable WRP.
- BBW Japanese Cherry Blossom: Got this also with the dark kiss, this is also strong but was not bothersome so it's ok but again not worth the hype and price. This one everyone gave ok, not bad reaction to it. I think I would be able to use it when I go over. It didn't last that long. WNRP is too expensive if not for the myntra sale I wouldn't have even gone near it.
I almost never repurchase products if I haven't found a better or similar alternative. I always keep trying different things whenever there is a huge sale. Now that I'm overflowing with so many products in all categories, I plan on emptying them, so you will see more review posts. I didn't type it all in one go; whenever I get some time, I type and save it as a draft. submitted by demi_skincare to IndianSkincareAddicts [link] [comments] |
2023.03.30 19:35 Maddog27708 I’m having a save file issue
Recently I had transferred my save from the Microsoft store to steam because I heard there were more players their. The transfer worked and all the stuffed I had on the Microsoft store transferred to steamed. I played on steam for a few days and even got driller promoted. But just now I open drg and got the intro cutscene. For some reason I still have my old save file but whenever I delete the new ones it constantly replaces them when I launch the game. I also have no idea what the original file is as they are all labeled the same with just a different number. I’m just assuming the one with all my stuff is the one that has the most recent modified date and the biggest data size. Please help me recover this

2023.03.30 19:25 GoBestfriend- 00’ Nissan Maxima, Caliper Replacement Brake Bleed Problems
I met a local mobile mechanic service, I’ve dealt with this gentlemen a few times it was a weekend job, Which is why i. choose him as i needed my car for work. my brake caliper driver side froze up, Luckily right when i got to work, i called him up. And he came while i was at work. And allowed me to “front” or “borrow” the labor cost. Until payday which was today, after the repair (3 Days ago) i called him after work and told him my brakes were still spongy and going to the floor. The guy informed me about (air displacement in the brake line) telling me that a repeated pump off the brakes would eventually get the rest of the air out of the brakes, i took his advice, so fast forward. To this morning. maybe 30-40mph. Going threw a green light. The car in front of me slammed there brakes hard of course they had 100% braking power, so i react naturally as a lot of other humans and slammed my brakes. Will i still have air in my brake line if working on “Air displacement“ so i didnt have 0.1 seconds to pump my brake to stop a stop. my brake pedal went straight to the floor. And i tapped the back of the car as light as a feather. Thank god no extra damage occur just scratches on my front and his back, police seen it happen made the report etc… we went on about our days
as i receive my direct deposit a few minutes after that happens i stop and think about what just happened i owe this guy $100 for a caliper replacement and what i thought a brake bleed,
this accident was super super minor. . But what happens when im driving 60 mph. and another car, slams brakes at a yellow light, or what happens when im going 50 mph. And someone pulls out in front of me. Or what happens when im going 80mph and someone merges in front of me. What happens when a child or dog. runs into the street and 1000 more Scenarios. I could type , i should have 100% brake power.
I don’t feel like i should pay this guy ANYTHING, but after fighting with my better side. At the minimum. I would pay for labor for the caliper change. ,
what do you guys think? Please give me a answer while in my shoes. And also the mechanics shoes.

What can cause the power steering to go stiff intermittently? I've already replaced the pump and flushed the fluid as well.

I have a heavily modified Ender 5 pro.
Mods:
- Linear rails on X/Y
- Gates belts on X/Y
- 370mm lead screw on Z (will be cut eventually, trying to decide if I drop the motor down before cutting)
- Moved electronics to back wall
- BMG-style extruder, direct drive
- Currently have dual-5015 HeroMe Gen 5 cooling
- BL Touch (Real)
- Lifted X-gantry 25mm
- SKR E3 Mini V3.0
- KlippeFluidd
I've hit the limits of the stock Ender 5 nozzle assembly. I've had to slow my prints down a bit and drop acceleration on some moves because the nozzle isn't able to melt quickly enough. Next step is moving to a better heatsink/nozzle setup.
Few thoughts & hoping that someone(s) can help narrow things down.
Are CHT nozzles really better enough that that is all I would need to do in order to bump my flow up? No need to change the heatbreak, heatsink, fan system, etc.?
https://www.bondtech.se/product-category/nozzles/bondtech-nozzles/bondtech-cht/ If not, I'm primarily looking at a V6 style mount. This will let me use the current BMG (it's a clone, but measures the same as the Bondtech original) and eliminate some of the last bits of PTFE involved with my current mount.
I've been looking at the Genuine E3D V6 24v ($64), however it looks to come with a 30W heater vs the 40W I already have. Only $14 to get 3x 50W heaters & cartridge thermistor. That comes with a 3010 cooler and mount, which works nicely with what I think will be my new cooling duct. Total $68 - appears to use stainless steel heatbreak?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CNCCD8D/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A143QBZIQZCOJX&psc=1 I've found a Haldis V6 clone that has a titanium/copper heatbreak, which (in theory) should improve thermal isolation. Otherwise looks to be the same. Does not come with good mount for the heatsink fan to work with my duct, but $10 takes care of that. Will get same 50W heater / cartridge thermistor for the faster heating.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B095C7V8CY/ref=sw_img_1?smid=A2A40H1JUA5RMS&th=1 Also found Haldis Red Lizard, looks like it's using a similar method to the new Revo but doesn't deal with E3D's patent and uses screws to hold the heatbreak instead of the spring system. Reviews say it is a drop-in replacement for the V6, so it appears to be the same size, but not entirely sure that the same 3010 cooling fan will work, so something to consider.
https://www.amazon.com/Haldis-Assembled-Extrusion-Extruder-Printedp/B09HGTT9DW/ref=sr_1_46?crid=1VQVNCV19C1PS&keywords=j-head+24v&qid=1680193292&sprefix=j-head+24v%2Caps%2C122&sr=8-46&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc#customerReviews Finally - I have some old volcano blocks from when I was attempting to use a Sidewinder X2 and failing. It would take some modeling work, but it looks like my current heatbreak is threaded the same as the volcano blocks I have, and it can take the same glass ball thermistor and same 40W heater I already have, so all I would need are nozzles. Has anyone done this, and if so - have any pre-existing models for part cooling? It looks like the volcano block/nozzle would be the highest flow potential, but I'm not 100% sure I could come up with a good enough cooling system to work with it, while there are really good pre-existing systems for the V6 style heatsink, which would still be able to take a volcano down the road should I still hit flow issues.
Thoughts? I'm at 80mm/s print speed, with dynamic acceleration between 500-2500 depending on the move. I've got an ADXL to go through the process of getting input shaping completed, but I'm wanting to put that in once I have a fairly final setup, and I know the printer can do more. During Klipper acceleration testing, I can get up to 4k before it really shows, and getting all of the way to 7k before anything starts skipping. I'm feeling I should be able to get to ~6k or so and 120mm/s print speed if I can get the flow bumped up enough and bring some added rigidity to the fan system that the HeroMe is lacking, and the V6-style looks like it should be able to get there, but some advice on the last step would be appreciated.

2023.03.30 18:56 FarmWhich4275 When Humans Human
(one of my earliest attempts at writing. decided to just finish and post it. apologies.)
Entry Log One: Khrakhan Eld, Jukhanian Ambassador to the Human Alliance. Stardate - Human Year 2086.
It has been over three centuries since I accepted this commission to work with the Human Alliance, and even though I have known them for that long, they still surprise me to a shocking extent. A highly diverse species with so many different cultures congealed into one staggering mass of a hundred billion strong, settled alongside all the galaxy's different species.
Humanity was, and still remains, the driving force behind the rapidly growing Federations power and might. The strange, gaunt, high gravity race of bipedal apes took the galaxy by complete surprise, not only due to their appearance, but also due to their surprising strength.
In barely forty years of their time here, they have integrated seamlessly with species previously thought inhospitable. Planets thought harsh or unuseable, supported massive colonies of millions of humans, and the richness the industries these worlds provide. Humans, as it later turned out, had an affinity for members of other species, and by staggering luck they had a one-in-a-billion reproductive system that was robust enough that they could actually interbreed with most mammalian species in the galaxy, and one or two of the reptillians as well.
Humanity's capabilities in terms of engineering surpassed ours in a matter of decades, and due to the terms of the Federation, they shared it with us. This is primarily due to the tribal nature of the race, and they are well known for their petty squabbles and minor disputes, that result in skirmishes or outright wars, but would never come to full scale attacks. Maybe a warning shot or two, a small exchange of fire to disable shield arrays, but never more than that.
When questioned about these incidents, Human ambassadors and leaders would simply say something on the lines of:
"Meh. Local tensions. Pirates. Idiots. God botherers or Idealists that randomly decide to slug it out one day. Just ignore them, they run out of steam eventually and bugger off back to where they came from."
We really cared not. Owing to how the humans never turned their guns on us, we were fine with it, so long as they never got us involved. Everything about the humans confused and amazed us. They had, during First Contact Exchanges, given us reels upon reels of their historical archives. And what we had now was essentially a marginally watered down version of what humanity once was.
Hardened like a battleship hull.
***************************************************************************
Entry Log Two: Human Expansion
Owing to their ability to breed with a majority of the species in the galaxy, Human society, cultures and customs became part and parcel of the Federations species, almost to the point where we started getting cults forming in small pockets on the outer rims worshipping this aspect. Humanity, surprisingly enough, even though they technically were the deity being worshipped by these cults, were the first ones to clamp down on them, disbanding or outright attacking them.
Humans retained a lot of their individual national cultures long after their arrival into space. Many of their soldiers still carried blades, swords, knives and other such primitive weapons, weapons that most members of the galactic species considered worthless, or obsolete. But humans wielded these weapons to devastating effect, as witnessed in a few incidents and military conflicts seen during their short time in the Federation.
Technological advancement in terms of military and civilian development outstretched the rest of the galaxy by - to quote an expression - "a Country Mile." Human creativity and the natural drive for both an Omnivorous species' capacity for greed, and the species natural curiosity drove them to accomplish tasks and tech we never would have imagined. Humans and their concept of "Percussive Maintenance", or smack it 'til it worked was also something that took us by surprise. Especially considering that most of the time it actually worked.
For a few decades, a long time in human years apparently, we simply took it at face value, and never questioned it. As the expression goes: "Never look a gift horse in the mouth."
***************************************************************************
Entry Log Three: Capacity for Evil
They were not complete angels and paragons of course, Many a time, more than other races especially during the early years, they were extremely aggressive in their colonization efforts, going to active war with many nations over territorial disputes, corporate conflicts or other such disputes. Either they would win by a bare margin, or they would be routed and sent off in pieces.
One such occasion was the Tabrisko Incident, where, from what I could discern, was a human Corporation, a private entity separate from the Alliance and the Federation, known as Cybratech Industries, had laid claim to a particular star system. A star system, already settled by its current inhabitants the Hasaki Triumvirate. It was here that humanity showed its capacity for callous greed, and why so much emphasis is placed in society on the rejection of Corporate ideals. It also showed us a modicum mof respectability. When someone was being a dick... they had no trouble fucking them.
The Corporation, or simply 'Corpos' gathered a fleet of about forty ships, two of them cruisers and one Ark ship. They proceeded, without orders to bypass most security legislation, bribing their way across the galaxy and arrived in the system of Tabrisko. Two terrestrial planets, one Oceanic planet in the habitable zone, one Gas giant, two Ice planets and one newborn Molten planet. An unremarkable system by all accounts, there were thousands just like it throughout the galaxy.
The Corpos warped in and sent out a mass broadcast. "This is a public declaration. On behalf of the CybraTech Corporation, your occupation of this star system is now null and void. You will evacuate from the area immediately. You have a standard week to respond."
The sheer bastarding balls of them. A human representative was contacted and informed of the situation.
The human Ambassador, a gaunt, tall white haired gent by the name of Harley Alride, had a sneaky, unmistakable grin on his face as he spoke to the ambassador from the Hasaki Triumvirate. "So... what exactly is the issue here?"
The Hasaki Ambassador, Sings-On-Shores, was by no means amused. The lizard like reptilians blue scales flared in anger as he spoke back. "For the third time, we have a human fleet calling itself the Cybratech Corporation demanding that we surrender one of our colony worlds! I demand an explanation!"
Harley simply let out a chuckle, as if he was suppressing the desire to laugh. "Oh? Corpo rats huh? Well they are a private entity. There's nothing we can do to stop you, or them."
Sings-On-Shores was somewhat confused, but more upset and angry. "What? WHAT!?"
Harley simply said, that typical sly, 'I am up to something sneaky' grin on his face that we had become so accustomed to seeing. "What I am saying Ambassador is... That whatever you decide to do with them is entirely your decision."
Sings-On-Shores was astonished. This situation was a full invasion by galactic standards, it was the equivalent of a declaration of war. "But... They are your people! You speak for them!"
Harley's smile disappeared and his demeanor changed to one of seriousness. "Mister Ambassador with all due respect, need I remind you of Federation Colonization legislation number Seven Five Eight, Paragraph three? I quote: 'The first claimant to any star system that has the capacity to maintain any industry on that planet, has full and absolute control of its industry and inevitably, it's defense, is the sole and exclusive claimant to that star system.'" Harley said, and looked at his counterpart.
"Of course I remember the damn legislation! I helped sign that into law a hundred years ago! What the hell are you talking about!?" Sings-On-Shores demanded, his scales flustering between breaths.
"What I am saying, Sir, is that Private entities known as Corporations and other private entities can form OUTSIDE of the Alliances jurisdiction. They can get rich, get an ego the size of a cargo freighter and then suddenly decide 'I am god now, I can do what I want.' and go on a rampage. We allow it, for reasons that should be obvious. We do however... DISAVOW." Harleys last word in that statement took the Hasaki Ambassador by surprise.
"Disavow... wh-?" The entire concept for the Hasaki of private corporations operating outside of jurisdiction was as much a foreign concept to him as could be imagined.
"We allow these entities to buy their own fleets, set up shop and do what they do. they return to the Alliance eventually one way or another, Its just business. But sometimes... the rich and wealthy develop a god complex. And it is up to the normal people in the galaxy to remind them of what they really are. Lest they do stupid things." Harley responded. He looked into the monitor, and visibly closed one of his eyes in a cheeky manner, with his smile returned.
Sings-On-Shores went silent for a moment. As if processing the information. "Understood, Ambassador."
"One more thing..." Harley said. His demeanor shifted again, to a dead serious and absolute severity. "Do not fire on that Ark ship. Those people signed up for a new life, not an execution. There are children on board. We will see to it they get passage to a new colony world one way or another. But the corpo fleet? Heh... Enjoy the salvage."
Sings-On-Shores acknowledged with his own sinister grin, and closed the call.
A few hours later, a very heavily armed war fleet of the Triumvirate warped into the star system. Outnumbering and heavily outgunning the Corpo fleet. As expected, sensing danger the Ark ship immediately performed an FTL emergency jump, and vanished to the borders of the system where, a Human Alliance fleet was casually waiting for them. The corporate fleet was nothing short of obliterated by plasma cannons and heavy weapons fire from a Triumvirate dreadnought and its escorts. Nothing left but salvage and slag floating hopeless in the expanse where a salvage crew from the colony appeared and went to town.
Three thousand people were killed in that fight. Two Triumvirate ships were lost, totaling 600 losses, battleships no less. The rest were human losses. Corvettes, pickets, escort ships and mostly small low quality frigates crewed by 'Corporate drones' and contracted slave workers. As Harley said, 'nothing worth keeping.'
The human ambassadors and agents explained that rich corporations or other such entities would go mad with power, gather followers or create clone armies - highly illegal clone armies - and attempt to claim what they wanted. Human Alliance officers always knew what was going on, and made sure that one way or another, in a fair and balanced manner, they would always lose.
"In a fair and balanced manner." That sentence is almost always expressed with a certain sadistic glee.
***************************************************************************
Entry Four: Unbelievable Charity
This event is in stark contrast to the New Haven Incident that took place some twelve years later. Humanity was now at the forefront of Galactic politics and economics. New Haven was in fact a Bakari settlement and I had been called in to help them reinforce their trade position with the local area and help them along. I was in the orbital station garrisoning the colony when I heard the call to action.
The communications arrays suddenly exploded with SOS signals, emergency alerts and warnings of every kind as a staggering earthquake hit one of the continents. Seismologists put the quake on a massive eleven point four on the scale, enough to tilt the planets axis three degrees, open two new fault lines, slow the planets rotation speed by almost a full second and cause seven subsequent volcanic detonations across the tectonic plate.
Twenty nine cities were impacted and a hundred and fifty million lives were at stake. Before I could do anything however. A message interrupted all communications directed at the local garrison.
"Distress Signal Received. This is Alliance Fleet Sons Of The Dawn responding. Admiral Beckett Gray reporting. Request permission to enter Federation airspace."
I was on the bridge with the station captain helping him organize a response at this time, and without thinking, I immediately jumped on the communicator in a response. "This is federation Ambassador Khrakhan Eld responding, permission granted."
The station captain was somewhat annoyed with me. It was not exactly polite to supplant his authority. I was only an ambassador, so he scolded me for it. "How dare you do that! This is my station! You dare break with protocol like that!"
"Captain Sundaris please, this is an emergency situation." I responded, trying to stay calm.
Before however we could argue this point, a hundred dropships, cargo ships and two planetary cruisers blasted past the station making us jump in surprise as they whizzed past us. Moments later the massive hull of one of the Alliances two kilometer long Planetary Assault Carriers rumbled past the station, its sheer size and speed causing the windows and plating on the stations hull to rattle. Very few people outside the Alliance had seen one of these magnificent beasts, and as it slipped past us we got a glimpse as to exactly why.
A strange ship with a triangular or diamond shaped hull, hangar bays on the sides, heavy armor plating with dozens of shield generators dotted the meters thick armor plating. Weapons seen only on dreadnoughts or battleships lined its side hull under the bridge section and more small craft were being hastily ejected from its side mounted hangars. Its most terrifying component was what was mounted at the front - a Spinal mounted ion cannon. I could very clearly see a tell-tale sign of an emitter array barely sticking out the front end.
It entered the planets atmosphere flawlessly and we watched in awe as a full army of humans flooded out of the ships hull as it touched ground causing a puff of dust. Two more of these PAC class ships followed, then three more after that, and one more lagging behind with various cargo ships and drop transports seemingly welded to its outer hull followed, all within moments of each other. Two more smaller craft, known as Trade Frigates or Droid Frigates, ships whose superstructure is primarily consistent of communications arrays and antennae, appeared and entered the stations orbital patterns and began transmitting commands and orders, organizing the planets scattered and broken emergency signals.
The captain and I looked at each other, mouths agape at the sight we just witnessed. Not just one of them, but SEVEN? How many of them did humanity have!?
"One hundred and thirty four. And still counting." I heard a voice behind me say.
"Wh- Pardon?" I asked, now looking at a human Marine standing in the control room.
"That's how many of those ships we have. One hundred and thirty four by last count, with drydocks and shipyards in Alliance space working to produce another six hundred within the next ten years. As per our trade agreements, one hundred of those ships will be handed over to our allies and trade partners." He said with a smile, handing me a data pad.
He must have heard the voice in my head somehow, or he just simply knew what the question was, probably having been asked it a thousand times. "Erm... Uh... Th-Thank you uh..." I cleared my throat and straightened my shoulders, attempting to compose myself. "Carry on soldier. We will coordinate with your teams on the ground and translate what we can. Not everyone on the planet understands the Galactic standard language yet, so we will do our best. Patch us in to your commslink and we will assist where we can."
"Sir yes, Sir!" The human saluted, then immediately charged back out of the station. Moments later, a new group of humans appeared and without orders, began to redirect communications and show us bodycam footage from the ground.
What followed was the single largest and most grueling disaster relief campaign in seventy years. Twenty thousand ships. Two hundred million tons of medical supplies. Six hundred million tons of food and water. Two million humans working to save the lives of a hundred million people. Three and a half months of work.
After all was said and done, as many lives saved as possible, Human constructor fleets appeared with another surprise. They called them Manufactoriums, city sized ships with no armament or defense equipment, but cargo containers, construction drones and building hardware. Twenty two of them. It wasn't a ship in the traditional sense... to be honest it looked more like a children's block building set with giant engines. Big, fat, squared boxes with various patterns of armor plating mounted on a set of giant starship thrusters.
They landed on the planets surface and began to, for lack of a better term, unpack themselves. They landed, then a system of... i guess robots, started to unpack the blocky monster. Within hours, the ships had disappeared and turned into organized and perfected geometric patterns. They essentially made a prepackaged city and flew it out to act as a replacement for the city that was destroyed. Millions homeless, now almost instantly rehoused.
All the humans asked for in return was that we honor trade agreements and maintain the Alliance.
***************************************************************************
And so here we stand, many decades into the greatest and hopefully longest lasting friendship in history as Humanity rapidly carves itself into our hearts and our minds, with their increasingly erratic and interesting behavior. They are the only species in galactic history - that we are aware of anyway - to not immediately attempt to forge a galactic hegemony or engage in a genocide without due cause.
They are also one of extremely few species that everybody likes. Most like their presence or enjoy their company. Some simply ignore them. The few that don't like them are quick to change their minds when rescuers or negotiators arrive when a problem shows up.
Humans are here to stay. Hopefully for a damn long time.
Final Log: Khrakhan Eld, Jukhanian Ambassador to the Human Alliance. Stardate - Human Year 2386.

2023.03.30 18:52 Spooky_Dyke Replacement Caps for x1800
Has anyone used chroma caps (or other brand of replacement caps) on their x1800? I’ve seen posts of folks using them on their Prime 4s, but I know replacement caps can be finicky in their fit.
If you have, would you mind sharing which sizes you used?

My parents got divorced just a few months earlier and I was really sad by this much changes in my life. Homer become my best friend, he had followed me everywhere until I was around 8 years old. He got stitches back together, he got washes 1000 times and he survived through thick and through. I got another "Homer" on my 11th birthday. He was supposed to be a "replacement" but I would have never trough him away, even after I became a teenager. Yes they both stop followed me everywhere, but they were still there. And they still are now that I am 26 years old. A couple months ago, I stumbled on a old picture I had on my computer. It was probably a company picture showing 3 differents sizes "Homer". I remembered that younger I wanted to have them all. And here today I can show you, I have finally done it. My 6 year old me is finally happy. I hope they will be part of my journey, until the end. Thank you for reading my story. PS : The OG Homer is the one in the complete middle. Under the smallest one. submitted by Curious-Post-1342 to plushies [link] [comments] |
2023.03.30 18:47 SulferAddict 88k miles on 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Turbo Manual Transmission, 4,000$ repair
Hi guys, appreciate any brainpower.
I have a volkswagen Jetta 2010. it only has 88k miles and i take it in for maintenance routinely. This last time it appears the rear main oil seal is leaking, which is causing other issues. Below is the email I received.
--If i were to go through with this fix, do you think it is financially worth it? The repair is going to be around 4,600$. Thank you for your time.
- Year: 2010
- Make/Model: Volkswagen Jetta, (Wolfsburg) not sure it matters
- Mileage: 88,000
- Engine size: 2.0L I-4
- Transmission Type (Automatic or Manual): Manual
---Eamil Recieved
I have gotten the Jetta all checked out and have a report. It turns out that the reason that the check engine light is on is that there is a lean condition being detected. After performing the appropriate tests we have found that the rear main oil seal is leaking badly enough that it is sucking in unmetered air which is throwing the air fuel ratio off. This is also the source of an engine oil leak. We noted it last visit but it was not nearly as significant as it is now. I cannot put my eyes on the seal as the transmission and the clutch components are in the way of any sight line, but we have found this issue by filling the intake system in the engine with smoke and we can see it coming out of the bell housing of the transmission. The only path to get from the engine to the transmission is through that seal. I have also referred to one of our data bases and this is a common failure point on this engine/transmission setup. I propose that we replace that seal and because of the area that it is the clutch components would need to be replaced as they likely have oil on them which usually destroys them. The flywheel is also an area that I am uncertain about at this point, it would need a new surface for the new clutch disc to grip to. This can be achieved 2 ways, either by replacing the flywheel or machining the flywheel. To machine it is much less costly and would be preferable, but if the oil has gotten on the flywheel and created hot spots then the flywheel should be replaced as it will not stay true once the metal warps and changes. So, the estimate that I have prepared is taking into account a flywheel replacement but if we can save the flywheel it would save somewhere in the neighborhood of $700. In order to repair the vehicle in this fashion (rear main seal, clutch kit, and flywheel replacement) it would cost about $3700 plus tax. The drive belt is also cracking and should be replaced and the tires could use a routine rotation and balance as well.
If we were to get everything done, including testing, service, and the repairs I have listed, it would cost about $4650 including taxes and all. Like I mentioned, there is the possibility of saving $700 if the flywheel can be reused. I assume you will have questions. Please feel free to email back if that is easiest, or give me a call if you would prefer. Also, if you decide to move forward, it does take a few days to complete this kind of work. If you need transportation while it is being done, I have a loaner car I can arrange for you to use while we complete the work.

2023.03.30 18:34 extic Bike repair shop lost bolt to the e-shifter on S3 2021
| My brakes were not working properly anymore and I replaced the pads, this did not help, so I took it to a bike repair shop, on the way there I got a flat tire on the back wheel, so they fixed that as well. But they lost the bolt that holds the e-shifter in place on the frame. Does anyone know what size bolt this is? I want the e-shifter to be secure. This bolt or screw (English is not my native language) Also I would ask Vanmoof but yeah that is going to take me days. submitted by extic to vanmoofbicycle [link] [comments] |
2023.03.30 18:27 0FF_KILTER How to Handle Noncompliant/Stale iOS Devices?
Howdy, folks. My organization has had persistent issues with non-compliant and stale iOS devices that is driving me crazy.
When our IT department provides an iPad to an employee, we get it set up and have them log into the Comp Portal with (usually) no issue.
The problem often rears its head when turnover happens: suppose Bob Smith leaves the company. Bob's manager, Jane Doe, hangs on to Bob's old iPad until a new employee is hired to take Bob's spot. In time between Bob's departure and his replacement's hiring, Jane keeps the iPad locked and/or powered off in her desk- meaning the iPad can't check in with InTune's server for an extended period.
Now when Jane hires Henry Ford to fill Bob's spot months later, the device is no longer giving or receiving any communications from InTune's server... despite being powered on again and connecting to the internet via cellular data. This iPad still works, and our company apps are still there.
But, oh no! Now Henry is using the device while the device record remains under Bob's name. A disaster for our inventory records- and what's more, we can't do any management of the noncompliant/stale device anymore. So if Bob set a nonstandard unlock passcode and forgot to tell Jane when he left the company, there's no way for us to remotely unlock the iPad for Henry.
But back up a minute- or rather, a few months. Let's assume Jane handled the device properly by wiping it (either manually or ideally by asking IT to send a wipe command) after Bob gave it to her. Our user adherence to these policies is abysmal, but let's just suppose it happens. Jane guides the device through setup after the wipe and eventually comes to the Comp Portal, where she needs to wait until she hires her name employee. As I alluded to earlier, it may be months until Henry is hired and set up with the device, which is collecting dust in a desk drawer or storage closet somewhere in the meantime.
The iPad eventually becomes noncompliant/stale, and once that happens Henry won't be able to log in to the Comp Portal. I think the issue is that Comp Portal app version is outdated and won't update because it isn't communicating with InTune. But at the same time, since the device is stuck in single app mode, Henry and Jane can't manually wipe the iPad. It's stuck.
These hypotheticals are just two of thw many similar scenarios we have to deal with repeatedly on a daily basis, but similar situations lead to similar end results.
The final recourse, ultimately, is for Jane and Henry to ship the iPad to our main office for my IT department to restore the device using iTunes. This is terribly inconvenient for an organization of our size.
But what else can be done? I had been hopeful that enabling a device clean-up rule could help, but that only prunes the obsolete records- it doesn't do anything to manage the device. I thought retiring it could help, but of course since the iPad isn't receiving commands from InTune anymore the retire command would never arrive either.
We don't really want to remove the passcode and all security from noncompliant/stale devices (for obvious reasons). I'm not exactly sure what an ideal solution would look like here, to be honest... if our iOS devices automatically locked from the devices' end if they don't contact InTune's server after X days, that would at least be a step in the right direction. We'd still have to restore the device with iTunes, but at least we'd cut to the chase and make sure there aren't any devices out there under an ex-employee's name.
I'm a little flabbergasted if InTune is truly not capable of handling this issue more elegantly, but if there is a tool or rule in the InTune admin center then I must be too blind to find it. So, what's an IT admin to do?

2023.03.30 18:25 SavannahRama Bill Bryson on Savannah
From
"The Lost Continent: Travels in Small-Town America" (1989), written during his travels around the US in 1987 & 1988
I headed east for Savannah, down Interstate 16. It was a 173-mile drive of unspeakable tedium across the red-clay plain of Georgia. It took me five hot and unrewarding hours to reach Savannah. While you, lucky reader, have only to flit your eyes to the next paragraph.
I stood agog in Lafayette Square in Savannah, amid brick paths, trickling fountains and dark trees hung with Spanish moss. Before me rose up a cathedral of exquisite linen-fresh whiteness with twin Gothic spires, and around it stood 200-year-old houses of weathered brick, with hurricane shutters that clearly were still used. I did not know that such perfection existed in America. There are twenty such squares in Savannah, cool and quiet beneath a canopy of trees, and long straight side streets equally dark and serene. It is only when you stumble out of this urban rain forest, out into the open streets of the modern city, exposed to the glare of the boiling sun, that you realize just how sweltering the South can be. This was October, a time of flannel shirts and hot toddies in Iowa, but here summer was unrelenting. It was only eight in the morning and already businessmen were loosening their ties and mopping their foreheads. What must it be like in August? Every store and restaurant is air-conditioned. You step inside and the sweat is freeze-dried on your arms. Step back outside and the air meets you as something hot and unpleasant, like a dog’s breath. It is only in Savannah’s squares that the climate achieves a kind of pleasing equilibrium.
Savannah is a seductive city and I found myself wandering almost involuntarily for hours. The city has more than 1,000 historic buildings, many of them still lived in as houses. This was, New York apart, the first American city I had ever been in where people actually lived downtown. What a difference it makes, how much more vibrant and alive it all seems, to see children playing ball in the street or skipping rope on the front stoops. I wandered along the cobbled sidewalk of Oglethorpe Avenue to the Colonial Park Cemetery, full of moldering monuments and densely packed with the gravestones of people famous to the state’s history—Archibald Bulloch, the first president of Georgia, James Habersham, ‘a leading merchant,’ and Button Gwinnett, who is famous in America for being one of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence and for having the silliest first name in Colonial history. The people of Savannah, in a careless moment, appear to have lost old Button. The historical marker said that he might be buried where I was standing now or then again he might be over in the corner or possibly somewhere else altogether. You could walk around all day and never know when you were on the Button, so to speak.
The business district in Savannah was frozen in a perpetual 1959—the Woolworth store didn’t appear to have changed its stock since about then. There was a handsome old movie house, Weis’s, but it was shut. Downtown movie houses are pretty much a thing of the past in America, alas, alas. You are always reading how buoyant the movie industry is in America, but all the theaters now are at shopping malls in the suburbs. You go to the movies there and you get a choice of a dozen pictures, but each theater is about the size of a large fridge-freezer and only marginally more comfortable. There are no balconies. Can you imagine that? Can you imagine movie theaters without balconies? To me going to the movies means sitting in the front row of the balcony with your feet up, dropping empty candy boxes onto the people below (or, during the more boring love scenes, dribbling Coke) and throwing Nibs at the screen. Nibs were a licorice-flavored candy, thought to be made from rubber left over from the Korean War, which had a strange popularity in the 1950s. They were practically inedible, but if you sucked on one of them for a minute and then threw it at the screen, it would stick with an interesting pock sound. It was a tradition on Saturdays for everybody to take the bus downtown to the Orpheum, buy a box of Nibs and spend the afternoon bombarding the screen.
You had to be careful when you did this because the theater manager employed vicious usherettes, dropouts from Tech High School whose one regret in life was that they hadn’t been born into Hitler’s Germany, who patrolled the aisles with highpowered flashlights looking for children who were misbehaving. Two or three times during the film their darting lights would fix on some hapless youngster, half out of his seat, poised in throwing position with a moistened Nib in his hand, and they would rush to subdue him. He would be carried off squealing. This never happened to my friends or me, thank God, but we always assumed that the victims were taken away and tortured with electrical instruments before being turned over to the police for a long period of mental readjustment in a reform school. Those were the days! You cannot tell me that some suburban multiplex with shoebox theaters and screens the size of bath towels can offer anything like the enchantment and community spirit of a cavernous downtown movie house. Nobody seems to have noticed it yet, but ours could well be the last generation for which movie-going has anything like a sense of magic.
On this sobering thought I strolled down to Water Street, on the Savannah River, where there was a new riverside walk. The river itself was dark and smelly and on the South Carolina side opposite there was nothing to look at but down-at-heel warehouses and, further downriver, factories dispensing billows of smoke. But the old cotton warehouses overlooking the river on the Savannah side were splendid. They had been restored without being over-gentrified. They contained boutiques and oyster bars on the ground floor, but the upper floors were left a tad shabby, giving them that requisite raffish air I had been looking for since Hannibal. Some of the shops were just a bit chichi, I must admit. One of them was called The Cutest Little Shop in Town, which made me want to have the quickest little dry heave in the county. A sign on the door said:
ABSOTIVELY, POSILUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINK IN SHOP
I sank to my knees and thanked God that I had never had to meet the proprietor. The shop was closed so I wasn’t able to go inside and see what was so cute about it.
Towards the end of the street stood a big new Hyatt Regency hotel, an instantly depressing sight. Massive and made of shaped concrete, it was from the Fuck You school of architecture so favored by the big American hotel chains. There was nothing about it in scale or appearance even remotely sympathetic to the old buildings around it. It just said, ‘Fuck you, Savannah.’ The city is particularly ill favored in this respect. Every few blocks you come up against some discordant slab—the De Soto Hilton, the Ramada Inn, the Best Western Riverfront, all about as appealing as spittle on a johnnycake, as they say in Georgia. Actually, they don’t say anything of the sort in Georgia. I just made it up. But it has a nice Southern ring to it, don’t you think? I was just about at the point where I was starting to get personally offended by the hotels, and in serious danger of becoming tiresome here, when my attention was distracted by a workman in front of the city courthouse, a large building with a gold dome. He had a leaf blower, a noisy contraption with miles of flex snaking back into the building behind him. I had never seen such a thing before. It looked something like a vacuum cleaner—actually, it looked like one of the Martians in It Came from Outer Space—and it was very noisy. The idea, I gathered, was that you would blow all the leaves into a pile and then gather them up by hand. But every time the man assembled a little pile of leaves, a breeze would come along and unassemble it. Sometimes he would chase one leaf half a block or more with his blower, whereupon all the leaves back at base would seize the opportunity to scuttle off in all directions. It was clearly an appliance that must have looked nifty in the catalog but would never work in the real world, and I vaguely wondered, as I strolled past, whether the people at the Zwingle Company were behind it in some way.
I left Savannah on the Herman Talmadge Memorial Bridge, a tall, iron-strutted structure that rises up and up and up and flings you, wide-eyed and quietly gasping, over the Savannah River and into South Carolina. I drove along what appeared on my map to be a meandering coast road, but was in fact a meandering inland road. This stretch of coast is littered with islands, inlets, bays and beaches of rolling sand dunes, but I saw precious little of it. The road was narrow and slow. It must be hell in the summer when millions of vacationers from all over the eastern seaboard head for the beaches and resorts—Tybee Island, Hilton Head, Laurel Bay, Fripp Island.

2023.03.30 18:21 No_Bobcat5480 Smaller flange sizes
I have a Motif Luna & currently have 21mm flange sizes. I looked on their website & it looks like they used to carry the 16mm size but no longer do. Where can I find smaller flanges that fit this pump model?? I feel like the ones I have now are now too big

2023.03.30 18:21 Unknown___GeekyNerd A few things: Does anyone understand or have any ideas what's going on with my hormones, periods, and what happened to my growth? I am also wondering what this "lump" is on my x-ray (circled in red).
I'm 19 and a British-white (living in England) trans man (medically transitioning so I'm not a clear "male" or "female" sex - had top surgery and take HRT plus hormone blockers. I use he/him pronouns).
I'm 156cm tall (between 5'1" and 5'2") and weigh about 55kg - 60kg (because of HRT and other things it keeps on fluctuating but it's 8.6st - 9.4 st (approx)).
I'm neurodivergent (autism, ADHD) with learning difficulties (dyslexia, pragmatic language disorder, selective mutism, dysgraphia, verbal dyspraxia), with other difficulties too (like Irlen Syndrome and sensory processing disorder, etc (I think you get the point)).
I have really bad mental health issues (have been really depressed recently - diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder, and I'm on 100mg sertraline, as well as having things like OCD, gender dysphoria, depression, and I highly suspect that I may also have BPD (I'm trying to find the route to get assessed to see if I do have it because I tick a lot of the boxes for it and it would make a lot of sense, but it may be something else)).
I also may have MCAS (excessive allergies and skin among many other weird things going on with me) - am between appointments for investigating it. There is something going on with my hormones as the levels keep on fluctuating and there's a (most likely) suspicion of endometriosis, however, the other possibility is with the MCAS having an allergy to hormones (I admit it's unlikely, but the symptoms I have imply that something is going on (also medically confirmed it's not PCOS before anyone suggests that)).
I am diagnosed with hEDS, and currently maybe getting a diagnosis for scoliosis - x-rays are taken and from my own attempts of trying to do Cobb's Angle, I think my spine angle falls between 8 - 12 degrees (basically on the cusp of either having it or not) - also waiting for the doctors to come back with their conclusion. I suspect I may also have Lordosis along with the possible scoliosis (not entirely sure because the x-ray was only taken for the angle for scoliosis so it's not clear, but my inwards curve is excessive and I'm always in a lot of pain there). I have been told I have a "hump" thing on my right shoulder blade and it's visible that my shoulders and waist are uneven heights (on either side).
The x-ray shows this lump on the right side of the x-ray (left side of my body) which is the opposite side to the "hump" I have on my back. At first I thought it maybe an organ, but I cannot think of any organs that are located there. Does anyone have any ideas?

I believe I had precocious puberty for oestrogen puberty - I must have been a maximum of 7 when I started puberty, and when I started my periods I was 11 years and 2-3 months old. I stopped growing around 10 years and 4 months old. My feet must of stopped growing around a year before my height stopped growing because I still have shoes from that age that fit. My feet are size 2 UK (about 4.5 US size). My feet have really high arches that is causes a lot of pain and I have to wear special insoles to support me because my feet are so small for the rest of my body.
My mum is 160cm (5'3") and my dad is 180cm (5'11"). My mum's shoe size is 7 UK (size 9 women's US or size 7.5 men's US (approx)). My dad's shoe size is 10 UK (size 12 women's US or size 10.5 men's UK (approx)). My mum started her periods when she was 16.
I accept that I will not grow any more, but I know something happened because it doesn't make sense with my growth. I keep getting reassured that it's "normal" because of the height my parents are and that being assigned female at birth I'm supposedly in "normal" range, but I know that finishing puberty (first puberty) well after I stopped growing is not normal.
I have two younger siblings: My trans brother (assigned female at birth) is almost 17 and still growing. He feet are size 7 UK (size 9 women's US or size 7.5 men's US (approx)), and he's 156cm. (He is on HRT and hormone blockers like me.) My brother started his periods when he was 13.
My sister (assigned female at birth) is 11 years and 5 months and is also still growing. Her feet are size 5 UK (size 7 women's US or size 6 kids' US (approx)). She's 150cm and still growing. She hasn't even started her periods yet.
I have tall family members on both my parents' sides with giant feet.
When I was 14, I was vomiting every month for an entire year, which was very clearly related to my menstrual cycle. I spent the rest of the time feeling nauseous and I had awful reflux and IBS (diarrhea) issues. I was in bed for an entire year. It was horrible.
I got out of those cycles from taking the pill (to then come out as trans and realise that that was the wrong sort of hormones for me).
At some point after my brother started his periods, he also had a vomiting cycle (identical to my symptoms) and that was broken by going onto HRT and hormone blockers.
No one on either side of my family have experienced these issues before my brother and I did.
When I started testosterone (1 pump daily - 20.25mg of testosterone) my hormone (testosterone) levels were 31.2 nmol/L. I started hormone blockers a few months after starting testosterone (to stop my periods which happened instantly) and had 6 months worth of hormone blockers (an injection every 3 months).
After a year on testosterone I was on the same testosterone dosage and my hormone levels were 28.9 nmol/L. (It remained between 28nmol/L and 35nmol/L for the first 2 years.)
Over 2 years after I started testosterone and over 2 years since I started hormone blockers (but not quite 2 years since having the last hormone blocker injection) my periods started up again. My testosterone levels were 26.6nmol/L and I cannot remember my oestrogen/progesterone levels, but they were within the normal range for cis men, so it wasn't that.
The year continued with periods and my testosterone levels never dropping below 18.7nmol/L.
A year after my periods started I managed to get onto hormone blockers again (this time via the NHS because my family are poor), and it stopped them instantly. A few days before I received the hormone blockers I had a blood test and got the results a few days after the blockers. My testosterone levels had dropped to 8.6nmol/L.
Since my testosterone levels were so low, I doubled the dosage (2 pumps daily - 40.5mg of testosterone). After 4 or so months (a week after my second hormone blocker injection) I had another blood test and my testosterone levels had risen to 9.2nmol/L. (This was a few months ago now.)
I still feel period pain despite not having periods and the pain is definitely in a cycle. I did experience this the previous time I had the hormone blockers. This pain may be made worse because I have hEDS (progesterone isn't good for hEDS), but I suspect it may be more than just that as I get this "tearing" sensation in my uterus, and it's so painful and doesn't feel right.
I've had two ultrasounds which is why PCOS has been ruled out. I had one when I was 14 and the other last year at 18. They never found anything and never did any follow ups.
I don't want a camera inside me to check for endometriosis because it would cause really bad gender dysphoria. I want a hysterectomy to remove both ovaries so I might get an answer to the endometriosis and if that's the case, I hope it will fix the period pain I feel.
I do not use any recreational drugs, I don't smoke, drink alcohol, or knowingly consume caffeine. I'm also a virgin, so no way I am or have been pregnant. I also take testosterone 4-6 hours before my blood tests and put the gel on arms/shoulders so it shouldn't be that.
I don't know what's going on with me, but any ideas so I can look into it and ask my doctor about it would be great because it's currently a guessing game and I would like to narrow down the possibilities until I get to the bottom of it. Many thanks.

2023.03.30 18:15 Phimini Medtronic 670g/770g is surprisingly delicate?
Any other Medtronic users here having problems with their pump cracking?? After less than a year of having the 770, the back over the battery cracked. I had it replaced. It’s been ~8 months and my pump has cracked again, in the same place.
I think I’m gonna consider a different brand once my warranty is up… I used my last pump, a 620 I think? for YEARS after warranty ended and that thing is STILL solid. I’d damn near compare it to a Nokia lol.

2023.03.30 18:15 raphyr Constant static noise running through audio signal
Now this seems like more of a music production problem, but I am almost 99% sure it's hardware or power related.
So ever since I've had studio monitors (speakers for music production) there's been a static noise coming through them. I produced purely electronic music before so besides being annoying, it wasn't too much of an issue unless I wanted to record with a microphone. It's gotten much, much better since I upgraded to a hardware audio interface, but it didn't disappear. Now that I've purchased a synthesizer and a guitar, it's become a problem. The recordings aren't pure and makes audio processing a nightmare.
Looks like this in Ableton Live, my music production software. See the audio spectrum and volume bars on the side to see what is constantly running through the system. And the strangest thing of all is that I´ve replaced every part of my set-up (including my computer), \*and\* moved to a different home with grounded sockets. All that remained the same was that I used XLR cables to connect the studio monitors.
Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? I have tried finding an answer for years and still haven't found one that works for me.
Set-up is as following: PC connected by USB to hardware audio interface. Monitors connected to audio interface by XLR out to full size Jack in. Everything with power connected to grounded sockets through a socket block.
It has to be a singular thing that is causing it. I feel like the electricity that's running through my computer is somehow being picked up and sent out through the audio signal. Before I had my audio interface, I could hear the noise changed if I moved my mouse around or if the computer had to process a lot. So I feel like it's something related to power, power cables or my computer (even though I've bought a new computer and had the same problems).

2023.03.30 18:14 CivilEngineerSoHot Force main design: low flows, low lift, can't meet criteria
I am required to design a force main to convey sewage from an accessory building (135 gal per day total) to a receiving manhole 2700 feet away, and with a net lift of <5 feet.
This problem has me stumped at present because using the smallest allowable pipe (4") and the minimum cleaning velocity (2 feet per sec), the pump would need to run something like once per day for less than 15 seconds. The plan is to have the flows from the facility collect in a septic tank to settle out solids first, so solids should not complicate the issue.
A possible solution would be decreasing pipe size, but 4" is the min standard in this area. The other possible solution would be a leach field instead of a force main, but the client does not like that idea. Another idea would be to use a holding tank to accumulate several day's worth of volume before pumping occurs, but wondering if gas accumulation would become a problem.
If anyone has designed a system with similar constraints, I would really appreciate learning from your experience.
