2023.03.25 02:07 Nonknowninja Was my aunt transphobic?

I went round to my aunts house today, played with my cousin, nothing overly notable other than it being incredibly exhausting. Little kids have SOOOOO much energy, i forget sometimes lol.
My aunt has never had an issue with me being trans at all, and i transitioned very shortly after my cousin was born (she's 5, I'm 15) so to her I've pretty much always been me as I am now (a guy, im ftm). It's never actually been explained to her that I was trans simply because it's never had to have been, which i have no problem with. However there are numerous pictures of me pre-transition around their house (i have no issue with this) and apprently my cousin has recently been asking my aunt why I used to have long hair and wear girls clothes in those photos. Again, not an issue with this.
The answer my aunt gave her was "boys can have long hair and wear girls clothes too" which again i don't have a problem with, this is true after all. HOWEVER apprently her reasoning behind giving this answer was that my cousin really looks up to/idolises both me and my (cis) sister and she doesn't want my cousin to transition/start wanting to be a boy just because she wants to be like me? She said that if my cousin chooses to transition when she's older she's fine with that, but doesn't want her to do it just because I did, is essentially what i gathered. (I heard this all from my mum on the drive home BTW, not from my aunt herself). Now intially I didnt really think about this too much and thought "oh yeah sure, that's fair enough" but after having some more time to think on it, it feels a bit odd. If I were cis and had a girlfriend for example would my aunt not tell my cousin just in case she suddenly wanted a girlfriend too? Should I take out my piercings when I see my cousin in future just in case she decides she wants her ears/nose pierced because of me too? I'm not sure if these are reasonable comparisons.
(My cousin has also asked about my piercings before, and decided for herself that she'd never get her ears or anything pierced because she "doesn't want it to hurt, even a little bit". To which I obviously said something along the lines of "that's ok, it's up to you what you do", so it's not as if she genuinely wants to do EVERYTHING I do.)
I still don't think my aunt ment any ill will regardless, and at this point my cousin knowing whether or not I'm trans really doesn't bother me either way, but I can't help but draw comparisons to things like "don't tell kids gay people exist, because they'll want to be gay too!" with what she said. Am I justified here?

2023.03.25 02:06 Special-Culture-970 I'm an idiot. How do I fix my portfolio after making so many bad buys? Please help (details below).

Background: College kid. I fucked up and invested in a lot of bad stocks last year and now I'm down a lot of money. I went into the market naively thinking all stocks go up and bought at ATHs. Since then, I've read several books and I've decided I'm only going to buy blue chips and index funds once I fix this mess I'm in.
I'm not broke but I was really hoping to grow this money for a down payment on a house in 5-15 years (no rush, just going to go for it when I feel the time is right. I recognize that I shouldn't invest if I need to spend the money in 5 years, but I'm ok with waiting longer).
Current state: I am very down on many stocks. I have $15,000 left to invest. Will not have an income for 2 years (I have enough saved to live during this time), so I have to make the most of this money. I'm not sure if I should immediately go to index funds now or try to average down on some of my poorer investments below.
My shitty investments:
Tesla: shares valued at 3000, down 45%
Muln: shared values at 50, down 96%
Google: shares valued at 3000, down 25%
Amazon: shares valued at 1000, down 30%
Mp: shares valued at 500, down 45%
Lac: shares valued at 700, down 40%
ABML: shares valued at 500, down 40%
Ntr: shares valued at 1000, down 30%
Tgt: shared values at 2500, down 40%
TD: shares valued at 4000, down 25%
I'm down less than 20% on all my others and I've made moderate gains on a few stocks including Nvidia, amd, and oil. I recognize that not ALL of these are necessary "bad" investments, as google, TD and some others should recover, but I'm still at a loss for what to do.
The request: Please help me decide what to do with this mess. Should I just accept these losses and go 100% index from here? Should I average down right now with the entire $15,000 proportionately applied to each of the stocks? Should I average down on just some of them? If so, which ones?

It seems Rockstar games isn’t the cybersecurity rockstar it may have thought, as Grand Theft Auto 6 videos, source code, and Rockstar in-house documents are leaking online. In an interesting twist of fate, this might be coming from the recent Uber threat actor, who will likely have a laundry list of criminal charges should the United States catch up with them.
Less than 24 hours from writing, a forum post on a Grand Theft Auto (GTA) site, which will remain unlinked, went up from user “teapotuberhacker,” who claimed to have some stolen data. In the post, they wrote that they obtained and published “90 footage/clips from GTA 6” and had more data like “GTA 5 and 6 source code and assets” or a “GTA 6 testing build.” Of course, users on the forum were immediately skeptical of the breach, given how early it is for this sort of thing, but the info we are beginning to get back indicates that this is the real deal.

Furthermore, within the forum post, teapotuberhacker links himself to the recent Uber breach and explains that he got his GTA VI data from employee Slack channels and Rockstar’s internal Confluence, a corporate wiki tool. But, of course, Slack channels and Confluence pages are juicy targets for hackers and threat actors alike, so it could just be pure coincidence and someone trying to claim the infamy.

In any event, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier has since confirmed that this leak is real, so whether this is the Uber hacker or not is irrelevant. Thus, as mentioned, this leak could be one of the biggest in video game history and a massive problem for Rockstar games. 2023.03.25 02:04 gotsomegusto Ex moved out of state and left me on a lease with 10 months left.

A little bit of backstory - ex gf and I were living in NC until my ex took a job in VA. In February, Upon moving into an apartment with both of our names on the lease I found out that she was unfaithful and moved back to NC with the guy she was cheating on me with. Leaving myself with the full rent payment and both of our names still on the lease. She has moved most of her belongings out but still left behind some bulky furniture and won’t provide any timeline for removing the furniture. I’m under the assumption that she’s not coming back for it.
With my current job I can afford the full 1500+ rent for the duration of the lease. Once the lease runs it’s course I plan on moving back to NC and pursuing legal action against her in small claims court for the 10 months of rent that she did not pay.
Since the apartment is located in VA would I have to file the suit with the small claims in VA or wait until I move back to NC and file it with the NC small claims court? In addition, I’m looking into hiring a lawyer in order to have a better chance in court.

When I was 16-17M I had a drinking problem. I would drink whenever I could get my hands on alcohol because it was the only way I knew how to escape. I would do all kind of stupid shit when I was drunk, try to fight people, verbally abuse people for no reason, throw up in peoples houses etc. i would often get angry at my parents for no reason and once I even had a fight with my dad.
2 yrs ago aged 17 I met up with 3 girls and a male friend. I had had a lot to drink at this rate. I was sitting in a bench with one of the girls and I put my arm around her. She did not object to this so I thought I was on the next stage of flirting. I asked ro kiss her, she said no to that. A minute later I asked again and a minute after that I asked once more. All 3 times were rejected. Eventually i came to my senses and realise my attention was unwanted. I feel as though if I was physically stepping the line someone would have intervened. I cant actually remember any of this happening, this is just what I got told. I never forced myself on this person and I didn’t get aggressive or violent when rejected. After this happened she and all her friends left the venue and texted my friend that I fucked up and that no means no. I probably freaked her out bad. I didn’t understand what I was doing and I thought I was flirting but I got it horribly wrong and upset someone
When I heard about my actions the next morning I felt disgusted with myself, I instantly apologised to the girl I did it to. She told me she forgave me, my friend told me that she was initially upset after it had happened that I pushed her boundaries, but she accepted my apology. That was the last time i spoke to all the people involved. I feel disgusted within myself, I feel like a predator who kept pushing someone. I feel as though I might have traumatised her and ruined her life cos this was such a bad experience. It was after that I stopped drinking alcohol as a whole because I was now aware of its destructive nature. I haven’t done a thing of this nature since and realised that it was the alcohol dictating me.
After I apologised I didn’t think too much of the incident, but 18 months later for some reason it’s come back into my mind and it’s all I think about 24/7. I really can’t understand why I did what I did. I certainly wouldn’t have done it sober, but I’ve realised that it’s no excuse. Their friend said to my friend it wasn’t that much of a big deal but I still can’t forget about it. I feel like a piece of shit for trying to do something without the other person’s consent. I was verbally asking for consent but I was being pushy about it. Since this has been of my mind, I haven’t allowed myself to have anormal life, I’ve since quit my job and I hardly leave my room. I feel as though this is who I’m gonna be forever. That drunk idiot that kept asking. I told one of my friends bout it and he said it wasn’t a big deal. I can’t even look my own mother in the eye knowing the way I treated a woman that night. No charges were ever pressed or anything, idk if I did something illegal or not but it was certainly immoral. I hate myself for it every day and I’ve been thinking about ending my life over this. Once u do something like this in todays society there is no going back.
Although im 2 years sober and wont do something like this again I just cant let the past go. This haunts me 24/7 and honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever forgive myself for it. I thought of myself as an ally of women but this situation says that I wasn’t.
Should I tell my mother what happened?

We have deep, meaningful, interesting conversations, share just about every interest, and she’s smart. I can tell she likes me (body language, asking to see a pic of my ex randomly, giving me an excess of attention), but she’s been dating this guy for a few years and they live in the same house together (separate rooms)and are planning on moving in together somewhat soon. She’s incredibly beautiful; the kind of girl I’ve been looking for. I haven’t felt this way about someone for a long time (years).
I think about her all the time. Normally I wouldn’t have any scruples about “stealing her away” so to speak, except for the fact that we’re co-workers (don’t wanna make things awkward, been there done that), and on top of that I met her bf and I actually like the guy. On top of all that, I’m moving to a nearby city in around 3 months, and when I told her that she said that she’s always wanted to live there.
What the hell do I do? I think about this girl an (it seems to me) a borderline unhealthy amount. Should I go for it? Should I risk making work super awkward if I get turned down? Do I really want to ruin a long-term relationship just for a fee months and the chance of maybe living in the same city in the future (she’s graduating in a year)? Please help me!!! I still think you had something to do with the rapes from the Presidio back in 1986-86 in San Francisco of children and the rapes off the air bases in Sacramento "Sunrise mall off Watt ave" in 1981-83.
