2023.03.22 06:33 DeviatedUser Looking for replacement for M3X Triton by Olight

Hi all. I have had an M3X Triton by Olight since 2014. It's been a great light. Lately, depending on how you screw the barrel back together after charging, it may or may not work, or may flicker some. I think it may finally be giving up and dying. :(
We like that it's really bright. We can illuminate the whole yard fairly well (5 acres), but it doesn't seem to last as long as it used to, even with new batteries. We seem to think it used to last 60-90 minutes at on high (about 1000 lumens?). However, most of the newer lights I'm reading seem to only last 5-10 minutes on high (1000-1300 lumens? I'm comparing other Olights from the Olight direct store on Amazon).
I like the long barrel of the light, spouse would prefer one of the shorter ones, maybe even smaller reflector? I want us to find something that has a good throw (at least 200 meters, up to 600 meters max?) that still has a really good light to light up a whole tree at the back of the yard (400 feet back), and plenty in between us and the tree. Spouse is happier with more of a spot vs a flood.
Also, walking the dogs a few times at night, the current batteries are dead nearly every night and need charged nearly every day. We have 3 sets that are cycled through. It'd be great to have a good light that lasted an hour at least, on a good lumen light beam.
I have bought a Wurkkos FC11 (not anywhere NEAR the level of this M3X Triton), a couple unknown brand (Mikafen?) tactacle zoomable lights (junk), TrustFire XML C8-T6 CREE 1000 (decent, but not as good), and maybe a couple other smaller ones with smaller reflectors, but none of them have been as good as that M3X Triton.
Any recommendations? The Olight Javelot Pro 2 looks like a contender, but: 2500 lumens for 5 minutes then 1000 lumens for 180 minutes on turbo. I'd rather have it on 1000 lumens all the time, but that mode isn't an option it seems. Anything by anybody else that'll do that and look great doing it?

2023.03.22 05:58 JoaquinWasTaken Problem with my 12 pro

Well I recently got and iPhone 12 Pro with 100% battery condition and I keep it that way but recently the battery doesn’t charge sometimes, like it appears me that it’s charging so I leave the room but when I come back the battery percentage is the same and suddenly turns low and low 1 by 1, I freak out so I restart it and it come back to normal. Sorry if I didn’t explain it well but this is really annoying and I hope is any way to fix it. Thanks for reading

2023.03.22 05:35 kg_2-0-3 Looking for a pair of TWS for sound quality and battery life, ANC is a plus!

Hi all! I've been circling a few different pairs of TWS headphones in my head for a while, and l'm finally coming close to my final decision. I just need a little more help before do make my final decision though. Nothing Ear (2)'s $TBA OnePlus Buds Pro 2 $180 Sony WF-1000XM4 TWS $165 Jabra Elite 4 Active $80 My biggest question is how noticeable is the difference between aptX and AAC, specifically between the XM4's and the Jabra's? was originally interested in the Jabra's because if they have better sound quality then lI'm okay with paying half the price for crappier ANC but having that aptX codec. put the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 and Nothing's on there because the fit on both of the previous generations of those headphones have been practically perfect. The original Buds Pro had pretty good ANC and liked Zen Mode a lot, while the Nothing (1)'s had the cool design and a slightly better fit but shity ANC and battery life. I'm waiting until at least after reviews come in for the Nothing Ear(2) headphones (will be announced tomorrow 03/22) because want to consider all of my options.

2023.03.22 05:25 frenchdonkeyze Gear question: Waterproof outer shell for sea-ice coring?

Hi all,
Will actual be going to the arctic this may on a research expedition to sample sea ice. I wanted to get this community's advice on gear. From my reading, it seems that Helly Hansen makes some pretty good pro gear. My idea here is to layer, layer, layer. I will be out on the sea ice for many hours, and intermittently active, thus layering seems like the way to go rather than a thick parka.
However, I need a waterproof outer layer. I want it to be practical (lots of pockets).
Thoughts on the Helly Hansen Arctic Transition Parka? I Also looked at the Alna Polar Parka from their workwear line, but its insulation goes against the layering policy, and it has fewer pockets. However the transition parka is missing pit zips and side zips for mobility, or an insulated pocket for drill battery (thought it does have an interior one). I even considered a race sailing jacket which is awesome in many respects (waterproof cuffs! face mask!) but lacks pockets.
So far I'm liking the transition parka, and my plan would be to wear an Arc'teryx down jacket beneath (or other insulation if warmer temps), along with merino base layer, etc. Legs will have some insulated pants and a Helly Hansen waterproof shell pants (Verglas 3-layer).
I have a pro discount if it matters. Would love to hear your thoughts.

In your opinion, what is the best designed AMD Ryzen laptops?

HP Dragonfly Pro White
HP Dragonfly Pro Black
In my opinion, it's gotta be the HP Dragonfly Pro. Solid industrial design in both black and white, actually has great speaker, and it's upward firing like Apple's which I definitely prefer over some bottom speaker or hidden under keyboard speaker.
However; I'd wait for another iteration hopefully with 2K/2.5K 120hz OLED, Zen 4 7840U and larger 75wh battery. Current one has 65wh battery with Ryzen™ 7 7736U (essentially 6800u zen 3 rebrand).
Care to share what are your opinions?

2023.03.22 04:43 CATIDdesigns Macbook Pro dying super quick?

So i’ve had my Macbook Pro for almost 3 years now. It’s been running pretty well for the most part, however the past few days the battery has been draining super quickly. I checked if i had any other apps running or if there was something wrong with the battery health but they all seem normal. The only thing I could think may affect my battery life is recently i got a 10 ft charger from a non apple company (my charger broke a while ago). Is that something that could affect the battery life?

2023.03.22 04:34 Vintage_Lobster Does it make more sense to fix your broken phone or buy a new one?

So I tried to save money by replacing the battery on my iPhone and I ended up cracking the screen. I need to have the screen and battery replaced on it by Apple or Geeksquad, the latter of which quoted about $360 to repair it with Apple parts. I have never owed money on a phone, I get them outright. But now it's like I could either repair mine and clearly still save money or just upgrade and get something newer at the cost of double the amount to fix my current phone (for a used iPhone 13 Pro). Currently have the 12 Mini, love small phones... and also don't want to buy new prices because this year it sounds like Apple may be ditching the lightning port and going with USB C.. total rumor but I'm wondering about it also. What would you do in my situation?

2023.03.22 04:33 NXBoards NX Boards!

NX boards is an upcoming esk8 company based out of the US, our goal is to build DIY boards that are also plug-and-play, we also want to build some of the more underappreciated boards like race boards and mountain boards. We want to make sure our first board is something that is wanted by the community.
Currently, we are making a DIY-grade mountain board. the entire board is focused on being lightweight for jumping. We will be releasing one at the lower price of around 1200 and a higher-end model at around 1800.
Both have similar internals but the higher-end version will have matrix 3 trucks, a higher-end deck, and higher-end wheels. We will offer an upgrade kit at later times so you can upgrade your base to a pro.
The board will be very modular and built for upgrading. If that's upgrading through our parts or DIY parts that are up to you. We will always support modding, we know how much it sucks not being able to upgrade your board. Ehem onewheel.
The jumper version will have a very lightweight 12s2p battery. You will get about 10 miles so easily enough for hitting the pump tracks and parks but not the best for street riding and endurance so at later times we will also be offering a 12s6p pack. We may also have a battery buyback system but we are still working that out.

Looking forwards to hearing what you guys think

2023.03.22 04:07 Jspark313 Changing Window Sensor Batteries

The prior owner of my house installed an ADT Safewatch Pro 3000EN system (Honeywell Vista 20p) with two Safewatch Pro Custom panels and about 30 wired door and window sensors. I’m now getting “LOBAT” and “CHECK” zone alerts for multiple window sensors.
I cannot figure out where these sensors’ batteries are located or how to replace them. It seems like one side is a wired sensor and the other is a magnetic contact. What am I missing?

2023.03.22 03:52 ByWillAlone Thinking of getting a Pixel 6 Pro to use on Mint - what works, what doesn't work?

Is the pixel 6 Pro generally a good phone to use on Mint?
I need to replace my wife's aging LG v45, which never did work well with Mint Mobile. Main problems are: completely losing wireless data connectivity while roaming, incoming calls often going straight to voicemail despite max-bars cell signal indicator, and native visual voicemail app has never worked, ever. It's also starting to have battery and charging problems (this part obviously has nothing to do with mint).
Anyway, I'm starting to evaluate possible upgrades and am seriously considering the Pixel 6 Pro but just want a sanity check that it's going to work correctly and work well with Mint.
