My affair ended, it wasn’t my choice. Guilt happened. I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on what it was, how I responded during and after, and whether I want to find another special woman to share my life with.
My story is this. We met on Reddit but were somewhat local. It was during the height of Covid so most of our town was locked down and closed. Meeting was difficult but we made the effort. Sparks flew, I fell in love first. Then she did. Then she ended it. Honestly it was the most amazing I had felt as a man for as long as I can remember. It truly was a rollercoaster of emotion. I laughed, I cried and experienced every emotion in between.
With a couple years separating myself from it I have been able to really reflect and heal. I wasn’t proud of how I responded. Not to her, I was a gentleman to her, she deserved to be treated that way. But how I responded emotionally. How I allowed myself to get to a point where I just felt empty. I remember a point at the beginning where I felt myself falling for her. I had reservations about a few things, and I needed to either go all in or cut it off. I was lonely at the time so went all in.
And I got hurt. Bad. It was my doing, I knew the risks, but didn’t remember just how much broken hearts hurt. Luckily I found some comfort from friend. She’s wonderful and an amazing person. We supported each other and gave an ear or shoulder when we needed i most.
So here I sit contemplating life.
Would I do it again? Yes, I would.
Would I do things differently? Probably not. The hurt remains clear in my memory but the memories of our close intimate times are fading.
And that’s what I miss. I miss the NRE, sharing things only we can share, having someone falling for you. The sexy times with someone who is more focused on me, and I on her. All of that.
It was a wild ride and I honestly am not sure I can catch it again.
But I think I’m going to try.

and i know right now you're probably thinking "why put this on confessions?" let me tell you. my boyfriend is probably 90% sure i hate this aspect about him but i don't! i complain about it all the time but in the most loving, light-hearted, adoring way.
i especially like it in the summer because that means skin to skin contact in an air conditioned room. sleeping until late afternoon with my nose all stuffed up from the air being on all night. you'd think it's something to hate but growing up id never really had any air conditioning so i specifically associate it with him and only him.
i didnt think of this too much until winter came around and i could truly one hundred percent appreciate the absolutely huge wave lengths of heat coming off of this man. i wish i had the words to describe this in great detail however it's so close to perfection that i simply cant. i dont have the words to describe this close to god like feeling when he wraps his arms around my waist at night on a cold winter day with a snow storm taking over the outside yard.

I’m about to graduate college and it’s just freaking me out how fast time is going by. I miss the way things used to be. Even if it sucked a lot of the time.
In high school, I had ride or die friends and we’d get up to all sorts of dumb shit and we didn’t care about anything. We would go to shows and get in trouble and drink with older people. We’d spend every day together running around the city we live in. It feels like another life. The only cares we had were if a boy liked us back.
Or in elementary school my mom would make me Nutella waffles and drive me to the bus stop and kiss my cheek. Or even my dad as he shouted at us from the sideline to play better during basketball when we were seven years old only for him to lose his shit when we scored a point.
I miss not having to worry or care or fear. I miss not looking at my parents and immediately being reminded how they are getting old. I miss my brother having his room next to mine and being 30 seconds away, not 500 miles. I miss being so close with my friends who I now send 1-2 texts to every few months.
Seriously how the hell do people do this. It makes me so depressed thinking about how things will never be the same. I’ll never share a roof with my family again or spend 5 nights in a row at my friends house just cause. I just found new friends and now am about to have to start all over again.

I have Tekken 7 on my steam deck and bring it to work often for my break/lunch. I’ve been practicing with my main since Tekken 5 so obviously I occasionally hop on practice and often try to improve on my move sets and small combos. Well as soon as I hop on practice and if I hit the cpu it’ll just freeze as soon as the first touch happens. It usually runs fine when I’m playing vs or online but I haven’t really tested it out. I’ve already tested closing and reopening the game but it’ll always freeze on first hit in practice .Any help would be great :)

I'm about to close on a house and I'm planning on adding networking throughout the place. Unfortunately, it's a very old house, and especially on the main floor still has plaster walls, so I'd like to cut as few holes as possible.
My thought is to use fiber to the various places I want network, hiding them with false moldings, and then do short cable runs to the actual devices. I go back and forth on setting up 10g connections to individual devices (I'm planning on doing a lot of internal servers, but I recognize it's probably not worth it until the PCI 5 drive are actually common and affordable at scale) but I'd like the rooms with multiple devices to not be bottlenecked when we're moving big files around.
But most of the switches only take 1G fiber. I have to go up to the Pro models to find ones that take 10g in, and they're all bigger than I need. The UISP Console is probably closest to what I'm looking for, but, well, not an ISP.
Am I missing something? Is this just not possible?

Is there a way I can get the police to come around the street and ask the neighbours (and my dad) about some suspicious activity reported in the area? Without him knowing it was me.
Any advice is recommended.

It was a cold winter's night in Freeport. My husband and I were seated watching TV, he in his chair and I on the couch. Across the room (the length of our single-story ranch house), there is a lone window looking directly into the living room from the yard. I noticed the figure approaching slowly before subsequently ducking down so that only the crest of his head down to his eyes was visible. He knelt down and began to watch us. And watch and watch and watch.
My heart began to race, and my blood pressure had catapulted so quickly that my head began to throb and pound, and, despite the internal hurricane taking place, I at first pretended not to notice. I kept my eyes fixed on my husband, chatting and laughing as if nothing horrifying was taking place. I kept the intruder in birds eye view for several minutes, hoping he'd just up and leave, taking no interest in our ordinary, sedate state of affairs. Let me also mention that it was six degrees outside.
I continued on with just the same frame of attitude as the time I was robbed at gunpoint years before. I learned that I have a unique ability to remain externally calm despite the fire in my veins and the quaking of my being. Outside, I'm ice, but inside, I'm a tree shaken of all its leaves. Verily, after about ten minutes (I swear that every time I looked at the blank face and noticed it was still there, peeping in a polar vortex, I nearly screamed) I made a decision. Inside, I was absolutely breaking. Each moment that I turned to the TV and then shifted back, my heart skipped several beats.
Finally, with my face turned away, I said to my husband through my teeth, "honey, do NOT look and do NOT react, but there is a man looking at us through the window right now. Don't look!". Despite my urging, his impulse got the better of him. The moment he rose from the chair and turned, the peeper had leaped from view. I told him we needed to call 911. However, before I could even turn on my screen, the knob to the front door began to tremble and shake convulsively.
My husband commanded me to run to our room, a command which he followed as well, which, in such a tumultuous moment, was our only defense - because by then, the intruder was throwing himself against the front door. The jamb and hinged were audibly cracking, all of the items on the glass living room refectory table had begun to tremble and clatter, and the walls all reverberated thunderously.
With all of my strength (my husband had fused disks in his back, so he was totally incapable of assisting), I grasped the bureau by the legs and with all my puny might dragged the son of a bitch across the floor and finally, in one final throe of desperation, pushed it against the door. In the midst of this midnight whirlwind, the front door had been kicked opened and the footsteps, incredibly heavy ones, had tramped down the hallway as if the footfalls were 200 pound blocks of ice, though it hadnt sunk in until I, fresh out of breath and flushed in icy hot sweat, had tumbled backwards onto the bed.
"I have a gun!", my husband shouted repeatedly as the intruder began throwing his weight against the door. Assuming he might also be armed, we slunk to the far side of the bed and ducked down. I phoned 911, and they assured me the police were currently in pursuit. It's an incredibly small, derelict steel town in Western Pennsylvania, hollowed out by the terminus of the steel boom. The police arrived imminently, but in between the call, the threats, and the arrival of PD, I noticed something strange. Something that truly chilled me to the bone.
At some point, the intruder halted, and in a shrill, gravelly tone that sounded devilishly feminine, shouted a few simple words, which had been repeated several times - "this isn't yyyyyourrrrr house! My heart began to race, and my blood pressure had catapulted so quickly that my head began to throb and pound, and, despite the internal hurricane taking place, I at first pretended not to notice. I kept my eyes fixed on my husband, chatting and laughing as if nothing horrifying was taking place. I kept the intruder in birds eye view for several minutes, hoping he'd just up and leave, taking no interest in our ordinary, sedate state of affairs. Let me also mention that it was six degrees outside.
I continued on with just the same frame of attitude as the time I was robbed at gunpoint years before. I learned that I have a unique ability to remain externally calm despite the fire in my veins and the quaking of my being. Outside, I'm ice, but inside, I'm a tree shaken of all its leaves. Verily, after about ten minutes (I swear that every time I looked at the blank face and noticed it was still there, peeping in a polar vortex, I nearly screamed) I made a decision. Inside, I was absolutely breaking. Each moment that I turned to the TV and then shifted back, my heart skipped several beats.
Finally, with my face turned away, I said to my husband through my teeth, "honey, do NOT look and do NOT react, but there is a man looking at us through the window right now. Don't look!". Despite my urging, his impulse got the better of him. The moment he rose from the chair and turned, the peeper had leaped from view. I told him we needed to call 911. However, before I could even turn on my screen, the knob to the front door began to tremble and shake convulsively.
My husband commanded me to run to our room, a command which he followed as well, which, in such a tumultuous moment, was our only defense - because by then, the intruder was throwing himself against the front door. The jamb and hinged were audibly cracking, all of the items on the glass living room refectory table had begun to tremble and clatter, and the walls all reverberated thunderously.
With all of my strength (my husband had fused disks in his back, so he was totally incapable of assisting), I grasped the bureau by the legs and with all my puny might dragged the son of a bitch across the floor and finally, in one final throe of desperation, pushed it against the door. In the midst of this midnight whirlwind, the front door had been kicked opened and the footsteps, incredibly heavy ones, had tramped down the hallway as if the footfalls were 200 pound blocks of ice, though it hadnt sunk in until I, fresh out of breath and flushed in icy hot sweat, had tumbled backwards onto the bed.
"I have a gun!", my husband shouted repeatedly as the intruder began throwing his weight against the door. Assuming he might also be armed, we slunk to the far side of the bed and ducked down. We have been working with the FDA. We presented our basic approach with the pig we intend to use, and what pathogen testing we are going to do to prevent any infections. They evaluated the barrier facility, immunosuppression we are going to do, and our preclinical data. They gave us one additional study to do before we can start a pilot trial.

I am struggling to remember too many details about this book, aside from the chat room/messenger aspect of the protagonists relationship, an older brothefriend that would drive the protagonist around (I can recall a description of someone getting into a car but being too tall for the seating and having their knees bunched up). I also recall it having a sad ending, which is why I would like to re-visit it and see how it reads as an adult.
Another thing I recall is the title (or artwork on the cover) having "JK, I love you" or a phrase extremely close to that, perhaps a change in word order or separation between the J and K being a slash or period...unfortunately, whenever I search for this I run into JK Rowling repeatedly.

We were together for 3.5 years. The first year was great, but after we moved in together things started to go downhill. From my perspective, she was emotionally dependent on me and I wasn’t emotionally mature enough to be able to handle it. When I got overwhelmed by her, I’d say something rude which happened more often as the relationship was coming to a close. I knew the breakup was coming.
She broke up with me right before new years, and she had all of her stuff moved from our place by the first week of January. We have a few mutual friends, and one of them told me she had slept with someone new less than a week after our breakup. I know it’s none of my business how she processes feelings, and I feel like I am most at fault for our downfall, but it still stung. (and still stings if I am being honest)
Yesterday while leaving for work, she had left a framed drawing she made for me for my birthday a couple years ago on my front doorstep. I thought maybe she had found it while rummaging through the boxes of stuff she took and wanted to give it back to me, but I had a feeling it was something more so I unframed the picture and sure enough there was a letter on the backside of the drawing. I’m summarizing but it read as follows:
“I would spend the rest of my life with you before anyone else. I miss you every hour of every day. I love you, everything about, and I’ll never stop loving you.”
It’s frustrating because I have spent the last few months processing my emotions and being brutally honest with myself about how I need to change, but after reading her letter I feel like I’m back to square one.
I still love her I think. It’s been hard for me to figure that out.
We work the same job so I still see her regularly. We have been working on our friendship over the past few months. She doesn’t know I saw her letter, and I know I need to figure out how I feel about it before I bring it up to her.
What would you do if you were in my situation? I’d really appreciate a viewpoint from a stranger on the internet. :)

I have been using a D24H-G9 as a monitor for sometime now and it is awesome. It came time to add a second display to my system so I purchased a D24H-J09 this week and the quality as a monitor is not anywhere close to the G9. The G9 is crisp, the J09 is not. I've tried all sorts of settings and whatnot and nothing seems to change. Is there a difference in the units that would cause this? I just assumed it would be the same if not better being a new model in the same series. Any guidance would be deeply appreciated...
