I'm a single dad to my 17yo daughter and my 14yo daughter. The situation with their mother is not great and they don't see her but once or twice a year.
I try to not yell, my parents yelled and I hated it back then, so, I try not to repeat the cycle.
I got home later than I expected on Tuesday and came home to my daughters arguing. My older daughter was watching TV, my younger daughter came in and changed the channel without warning. My older daughter told said to change it back, younger daughter said she would in a minute, older daughter got impatient, argument ensues.
As I'm in the process of discipling my younger daughter, my older daughter decides to interject with, " Tell her not to hog the TV, emphasis on the hog"
My younger daughter really struggles with her weight, it's a sensitive subject, we try and not bring it up often.
I told my older daughter to be quiet and go upstairs. My older daughter said I was taking my younger daughter's side because she's " fat".
Told her again to be quiet and get upstairs. She made the comment that at least she can get up stairs without getting winded unlike " some people".
After awhile, I went into my older daughter's room to talk. She was in no mood to talk and told me she felt that my yelling was over the line.

I survived it somehow.
I went to the cemetery with his parents and my mother, left him flowers then out to lunch. His parents are so lovely.
In the afternoon, around the hour he was taken off the ventilator, I spent it alone (aside from my cat) and just let the grief come for the next little while, crying and thinking about him. It was cathartic.
This year, the sky was clear and sunny. Last year, the hour after he died was a thunder and lightning storm, with the rain only starting the very second I got back home after it was all over. He always loved the rain and storms.
After the crying was done, my sister came over for a bit, I cuddled my cat more and then it was midnight and the day was over.
I guess it wasn’t too bad as it goes. I think it’s good to have a day to just let the grief flow, a day where you don’t have to pretend that you’re fine and not completely shattered and defeated inside because he took half your heart with him when he died and it really fucking hurts.
I love him more than ever, and I miss him so much.

Hi! I would love to learn and get insight/advice from anyone experienced with the home buying process. I am a little reluctant to post this as I am a first-time homebuyer and a lot of these things are really new for me, but hey I'm learning!
By the end of the month, we will have close to 10K saved. We are hoping to purchase at property in IL with an FHA loan for $178,000.
Our down payment is being covered by a first-time home buyer grant of ~$6500
Our agent negotiated with our seller for 4% at closing....(can someone help me to understand if this is 4% of the loan amount to go towards closing or 4% of the closing fees that would go towards closing?)
We have also been told the seller is giving an additional credit of around 1500 for appliances. (will this decrease the amount of cash we spend at closing?)
The biggest issue is understanding exactly how much we will need to pay at closing. As it seems that it could be more, could be less. Another issue that I believe that we can run into is "cash on hand" or "money to show" as they are asking us to have close to 14K available to show. What do you think about this? If we were 4K less than this number would it impact our ability to close?
My biggest fear is going through all of this then being unable to close because of some oversight on our part.

My girlfriend and I are planning an egglocke for Violet, where I'll be supplying the eggs. As of two days ago, Scarlet/Violet being connected to Home has wildly opened up the possibilities for new breeding strategies, and I need more ideas.
There are a couple of caveats:

- I will be breeding all of these eggs legitimately, and IVs will be random. No held items.
- I only have Violet and Legends Arceus, so I'll have to trade for any pokemon from other games.
- Priority goes to weird strategies and stupid jokes - things that are funny and unexpected.
- Drifloon - Self-destruct, destiny bond, explosion, memento
- Happiny - Seismic Toss
- Gulpin - Stockpile, Spit up, Swallow, Stuff Cheeks
- Teddiursa - Covet, Fling, Rest, Snore (Ability: Pickup)
- EITHER Yungoos - Super fang, Fire fang, Ice fang, Thunder fang OR Bruxish - Super fang, Poison fang, Ice fang, Psychic fangs
- Cryogonal - Ice beam, Solar beam, Aurora beam, explosion (there don't seem to be any pokemon in gen 9 that can learn all 4 "beam" moves by level up/breeding)
- Dratini - Dragon rush, Dragon tail, Dragon dance, Dragon breath
- Tandemaus - Double hit, Beat up, Bullet seed, Population bomb (all multihit moves)
- Rellor - Cosmic Power (I know it's possible to get but not sure how)
I also want to make sure things are balanced correctly, so I need to consider more early-game pokemon as well. If anyone has any advice or ideas there, please let me know.

I've been having a heck of a time over the last couple years watching any streams on silk browser on my sticks and cubes where it seems horrible at buffering and constant stream drops.
I thought it was just the streams themselves being bad but my raspberry PI I can connect to any of those streams using chrome and its a perfect stream with no buffering or disconnects while plugged into the same router. So why cant silk do this?
Also, if I stream for even one second on silk then quit and hit home NONE of the streaming apps on the cube/stick will play for more than about 5 seconds before it stops and the only fix is to reboot the cube/stick.
Is there a better option than silk that works (streaming too) on the fire devices that isn't wonky in the control department?

Hey guys! Hoping I can get a bit of help/reassurance here. I currently carry a G43, love it, but wanted something a bit bigger, so went to my LGS today and got a blue label G19 MOS.
One thing that threw me off, the gun rattles. It rattles when the slide is racked, and/or when it's not racked. It rattles when trigger is back and loose, and/or if cocked.
Now, if I rack the slide, and put just a LITTLE pressure on the cocked trigger, THEN the rattling stops.
I'm pretty new to Glocks (G43 is my first, and does NOT rattle), so that's why I wanted to make sure I'm good to pick it up the new G19 take it home, rattles and all!

As someome who uses an unmodified Gigabit wired connection, this is all kinds of ridiculous.
There are dozens of videos on this channel that they've used their home made lagdrop tool to falsely accuse players as lag switch users and pull their IP data to display the city they're playing from and label them as online cheaters.
Is this not really messed up, or is it just me?

So Sunday morning when I went to let her out of her kennel she had thrown up and pooped everywhere which is extremely unusual for her. (She is an excellent potty trained dog even when she has had diarrhea and nausea in the past.) Immediately following outside she continued to have bloody mucus poop/diarrhea.
We took her to the emergency vet as soon as we cold that day. They ran a blood test and attempted to get a fecal sample. The fecal sample didn’t have enough feces to look at. Blood test showed slightly elevated white blood cells but otherwise normal, indicating an infection. They are treating it as colitis and sent us home with proviable probiotics, metronidazole, as well as a de wormer since she needed that updated.
By Monday things were sloooowwwwwllllyy getting better but not 100%. Then Tuesday night I ended up bringer back bc she began vomiting again and they gave her an injection and sent us home with some cerenia.
It is now Thursday and although the vomiting has ended I feel like we still have been unable to see her stool back to 100%. It’s still VERY soft and some mucus. There has been a couple times with blood as well but not everytime. She strains during each poop as well, and it’s never a normal amount of poop it’s usually quite small compared to her normal poops.
For background info she is 50 lbs and spayed female. She has been on a prescription urinary diet because of a stone she had earlier this year. She has never had an issue with the food though. Since on this food she has had nice firm stools sometimes super firm, but it never gave her diarrhea.
Does it usually take this long for colitis to resolve?

It is now Thursday and although the vomiting has ended I feel like we still have been unable to see her stool back to 100%. It’s still VERY soft and some mucus. There has been a couple times with blood as well but not everytime. She strains during each poop as well, and it’s never a normal amount of poop it’s usually quite small compared to her normal poops.
For background info she is 50 lbs and spayed female. She has been on a prescription urinary diet because of a stone she had earlier this year. She has never had an issue with the food though. Since on this food she has had nice firm stools sometimes super firm, but it never gave her diarrhea.
Does it usually take this long for colitis to resolve?

I have just graduated from high school, always had straight A-s from math and physics, and scored 90+ % on the final exams. I have almost never studied, I just understood everything in the lessons, and got max score on the tests. Therefore I'm not used to a lot of studying, and I can't really sit and concentrate for long at home. Will this be a problem? Also, I am really interested in EE, I have watched tons of videos, and gathered some knowledge about the basics (opamps, transistors, MOSFETs, etc.). I have even designed my own circuits. Looking for advice as I am a FTM. I am currently taking a distance learning grad school program. While there is a great amount in flexibility when I complete my work, I have rolling weekly deadlines. I plan to take off a full three months after the birth and then maybe take a half load +easy elective the following three months.
After that I will pretty much be full time stay at home mom but also going for my masters. My husband works from home too but he is the bread winner and the sole newborn care will be on me especially during the hours of 7-5.
Just looking for advice on how much you’re actually able to work/ do the first year or two. I also want to be there for babe and enjoy the moments that will only happen once. I do have family close but they will not be regular care. No daycare, nanny, child care probably until I pass my boards and start working.
TLDR: how much work can you accomplish (from home) in terms of time and mental bandwidth the first two years?

My MIL has gotten to the age where she can no longer live alone and is moving into my home. She currently owns a mobile home in a park and has contracted with a mobile home broker to sell it (the park only allows one specific broker to sell property in the park). The broker charges a flat fee. After a few months on the market without selling, she contacted the broker and lowered the asking price. That was in December. Fast forward to now and a buyer is interested. We have cameras installed throughout her home (in plain sight) so we are able to view and listen to showings. The broker is selling the property for almost $20k more than they are telling my MIL, though we were able to listen to the negotiations on camera. The buyers and sellers in this park never meet because financing is arranged privately. We have heard through other buyers and sellers in the park that it is a common practice for this broker to sell at a higher price than what is offered to the seller. Is this legal?

What do you think the vast majority of the middle class will have to do in order to become independent in old age?
Depending on where you live I would say 65-110 a year people. This group would be even more hallowed out to say for this, only the rare people that are saving every penny and living below their means.
What does life look like? I see some weird mix of hipster and prepper living inside of a studio apartment with a backup battery and a dual generator.
I see people that love avocados and taco Tuesday’s now considering the hoarding of thousands dollars worth of ammunition, an asset class.
I see stocks/bonds being the asset choice instead of a home and the ultimate pipe dream of being able to afford a piece of land, after the pandemic, without at least market correction.
I think people will start to want a true passive income and value stocks with dividends will prob start pumping and dumping in the next couple of years.
Commercial and residential real estate need to have a serious correction and soon before something else breaks and they crash regardless. The theory they will never come down because there is no supply doesn’t make any sense when there are non occupied houses everywhere with the asking price being the reason of vacancy.
