Is this a psychiatric issue or some form of tinnitus or something else entirely?
Every day for the past several months I have heard ducks quacking at 5.27pm, 7.09pm and again at 11.12pm. Nobody else can hear anything, so I have concluded that it’s not an external source. Also, it happens no matter where I am, so I don’t think it can be an environmental issue. It doesn’t seem to be related to any particular activity or body position either.
It lasts for around 4 or 5 minutes at a time. Constant quacking and sometimes a feeling of tightness across or else pulsating in my head, and / or a fluttering sensation in my ears. At other random times I feel all the sensations, but don’t hear any ducks. I had blocked sinuses a few months prior to the issue developing, but other than that I have had no diagnosed ENT problems.
It is mildly irritating, but doesn’t affect my life to any significant degree, other than making me increasingly worried that I am going mad.
I first noticed the time pattern for the 5.27 “flock” because they happened to say the time on the radio and after that I started noticing it. With the 11.12 one, my wife pointed out that I always mention it when getting ready for bed.
To be clear, I don’t sit around counting down the seconds until it happens. It’s more a case of, it happens and then I glance at my watch and see it’s on schedule.
Could it be related to extreme sleep deprivation? I have very bad insomnia, and average 2-3 hours of sleep per night.
I am aware that it sounds utterly ridiculous, but I am getting worried that it is a sign of some horrible psychiatric, neurological or god knows what else problem. I am too embarrassed to visit my own GP about it, and it seems too trivial to warrant a visit anyway.

Mother died very suddenly aged 57 from a ruptured brain aneurysm. Father died aged 70 from oesophageal cancer. Brother died from suicide. 4 sisters, one has anorexia and another alcohol dependency.
Non smoker of cigarettes
Drink 1 unit per week (if that)
Smoke or consume edibles 2 or 3 times per month. Previously smoked one or two joints daily for many years (aged 17-37).
Exercise 5+ hours per week (swimming, cycling, boxing, running, rowing).

Hello. I saw this subreddit and I thought I’d give it a try.
I’ve been roleplaying for a couple of years now, I would say that I’m decently detailed but I would also say that I still have a long way to go in my roleplaying journey so please bare with me. A couple things before I get into specifics, I prefer rping on Discord I will mention again that I am relatively new so please keep that in mind when we are discussing or rping and 3 is that this is a commitment thing I understand people have things going on but at the end of the day this is a longterm roleplay.
I will tell you if I’m no longer interested. I won’t ghost you unless you aren’t clear about communication, I understand people have lives and things. I do aswell but if you leave for a week and I have no idea where you are or I have no idea whether or not we’re still doing this thing please understand that at that point I will no longer wait around. A paragraph at least. I understand if it’s a back and forth then that’s fine, please be as literate as possible.
Don’t be afraid to talk to me about something that isn’t roleplay either! If you wanna talk about anything I will be your friend!
With that out of the way i’ll explain a little more about the roleplay. This roleplay is going to be about Stranger Things, essentially it’ll be like we are playing out a season of the show except we can tinker with the season and have our own monsters and plot lines. I personally like to make my own character instead of using a canon character but you are free to do what you would like. As we make our way through the “season” our characters will begin to develop different feelings for eachother.

So, my spellcaster sim (Hailey) is best friends with Morgyn, the Sage of Untamed Magic. I thought it’d be fun for them to meet her twin boys so she invited them to stay over, a couple of days.
All was fine and dandy until I heard the Alien abduction sound. I was like “Oh no, Alec (Vamp) got abducted again.” But no, I look over to Alec and he’s playing video games.
Then I remember: Morgyn’s staying over. They got abducted while I was busy making Hailey learn Homewardial.
I feel so bad for Morgyn, they were helping out around the house and spending time with their best friend and they get Abducted😂

Just a little bit about me - I graduated college with an Accounting degree in May of 2022. Took a few months to figure how to to get to 150 credits and once that was done, started studying for FAR (Becker) in mid-September. Took my first attempt on November 14th and failed with a 68. As to my study method then, I watched all lecture videos, made notes on the book, and did the Sims.
However, due to unavoidable circumstances, I couldn’t give another attempt in December and I started my job in Tax this January. Since it’s busy season, I’ve had no time to study for it at all. However, I want to get back to studying as soon as buys season ends (April 18th) but this time with a good study plan.
Is it worth rewatching all the videos, or is it better to skim through the book and practice questions? How long would it be ideal for me to study before giving my next attempt? I’d also really appreciate any tips y’all have on how to study for it, given that I will still be working full-time.

Started JM’s 2~3 years ago, got burnt out from being a heavily relied on shiftie and ended up putting in my resignation recently. I’m one of the only day of giving veterans at my store so I figured I would help out and put a third day of giving under my belt Never have I been so exhausted and validated in my decision to leave…. Day before D.O.G. I asked to be scheduled extra for nightside to set it up. Someone got sliced, okay I will close and be back at the store in less than 12 hours no biggie D.O.G. Rolls around, lunch is a slaughter but most things are getting done, the midday people after I leave don’t do much to set up dinner and the GM under-scheduled closing. I come back to close after giving myself a split, start everyone’s breaks and hauling ass, and still somehow managed to get out barely before 10pm

I ordered art from a seller that I’d been following for years. It took two weeks to arrive and USPS marked it as “delivered” when I never recieved it. I asked around my apartment building before waiting a few days to contact the seller on 3/10. After ten days with no response, I began to grow annoyed when I saw the seller posting IG stories of thrifting and getting her hair done so I reached out via DM. She said she would reach out on Etsy. Three days go by, nothing. I nudge her again, and I finally get a response. She said “since its been a few days I’ll just take the loss and send you a new one, is the address still good?” I replied yes, and now more radio silence for another week. No label created, nothing, just a passive aggressive comment about “taking the loss” and poof. This has left a bad taste in my mouth, but am I being dramatic? I kind of just want my money back now. I’m in the very early stages of my etsy selling journey and I can’t imagine taking two weeks to respond to a customer, and its not my full time job, but like, what do I know?! Any insight/advice appreciated.

This shouldn’t hurt. It does. I don’t deserve an invite, I haven’t spoken to him in years. Not for lack of trying on my part, they just stopped answering my texts. After a couple years you take the hint.
I left and cut off my parents when I was 19. I’m the oldest and this meant I cut off my siblings as well. It hurt, but I needed it. My mental health was on a downward spiral around them. Over the years I’ve tried to get back in touch but they weren’t really interested. And after my father and I finally had a very public blow out I don’t see it recovering.
It sucks. It sucks that they were collateral damage. It sucks that I won’t have a relationship with my siblings. It sucks that they seem to have decided that they want to not contact me. It just sucks. But if I were then I’d probably do the same. My youngest sibling just turned 18, they have seen me a total of maybe five times in their life that they can remember. Of course they have no interest in me.

Few people online or in person thought I was „crazy“ or „just a hater“ (which honestly just sounds like a schoolyard insult to me) or anything like that for not being a huge fan of Rap or Country or movies I found to be ridiculously corny.
Today, many more people than ever before (in my lifetime, at least) seem to think that if you dislike popular things, you‘re rude and even perhaps a bit anti-social. That if you don‘t have that common sense of humor where you find silly/cute things funny and instead have dark humor, you‘re odd. That if you question how so many people can like something obnoxious or annoying (whatever that may be) you‘re the one in the wrong. That formerly strong, rebellious, grungy, anti-sellout counter-culture seems to have died over 10 years ago. The „rebels“ today are anti-corporate in many ways but they don‘t often apply it to the entertainment industry. They tend to love whatever the industry provides them on the radio.
It was the era of griping about things one didn‘t like loudly and proudly and not having to endlessly defend the reasoning behind one‘s preferences. Sometimes there IS no reasoning. I once threw out a perfectly good Dutch oven because I left it in my fridge for MONTHS (maybe even a year), and I finally accepted it was better to chuck the whole thing as punishment for being so neglectful. I have not bought a replacement. Now I am much better at discarding those type of leftovers. My apartment has been called "minimal" and one friend made a comment that it doesn't feel warm or expressive of who I am - I am a creative person but nesting and decorating might as well be rocket science to me. So, while I didn't inherit the hoarding disorder that runs in my family, I still have a mental block when it comes to creating a home that feels cozy and stable. It's like I am afraid to connect with my home, like I don't trust it 😆 I appreciate this sub tremendously, and hope you other children of hoarders are surviving and thriving. I'm almost 40 and left home right after school. It may take a while to escape your family system, but there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Keep pushing, keep fighting! |

Hi, appreciate the advice in advance.
Yesterday I started having waves of fairly pelvic cramping. It is specifically centered in my uterus and off to the right side. I have an IUD and the center cramping is sharp, but thankfully short lived… it feels very familiar but to the pain when I had my IUD inserted years ago. The right-sided pain is a colicky sharp pain as well. It takes my breath away for a split second and then passes. I can’t seem to find anything that makes it better or worse.
I have an IUD and I’m on a BCP. I don’t currently have any vaginal bleeding, spotting, or discharge. I am not sexually active, so not concerned for a STI or something like PID. I can still feel my IUD strings. I feel like I’m urinating more frequently, but otherwise no urinate or bowel symptoms.
Any thoughts? I think it it persists I will go to the doctor but right now it feels a little alarmist and I’d be embarrassed if it was nothing.

I would make this into a poll but there’s so many options I wouldn’t be able to fit on.
Personally, I would fix battle hardened first. It’s been so ineffective since the start of the game that there’s no point running it.

Help!!!! I have this old phone of mine that’s an LG v40 thinq. I don’t use it anymore and it’s detached from my phone number. It has lots of very very important pictures on it.
I went to charge the phone and unlock it so that I can print out the pictures when I realized I don’t remember what the pattern passcode is!! All the solutions I’ve seen so far are to factory reset which I obviously can’t do!
I’m terrified of being permanently locked out of my phone and I’d die if I lost these photos. Can anyone help? Id even pay for someone to hack the phone to download the photos if possible.
