I don't really know what to do. I thought my keyboard died and was already going to look for another. 2 days ago i got home from bootcamp (where i took my keyboard with me). I plugged everything and it was all fine. I played for a couple hours than hit the bed. On the next day i turn on pc my pc is completely f*ckd. first thing that came to my mind was a malware but turns out it was the keyboard that was randomly pressing keys (such as windows, alt etc) and it was breaking my computer. I ran malware anti bytes (premium) and detected nothing. I updated firmware, reset etc nothing was working so i thought "gg, was a good run, i'll get a new one". Next day (i was playing w my old ducky1) decided to plug the keyboard you know, just in case and it was working fine. i played all day with it. Today, just got home and guess what. my pc was FULL CRAZY again. keyboard is as it was on the first time. i don't know what to do, is this some sort of firmware problem do i have to get a new one?

My parents had my stepsister and her two kids over for spring break last week. She has two kids, a 9yo boy and a 6yo girl. We were always told that the boy has autism, and there was no way for us to verify that because she lives 12 hours away and my parents see her once or twice per year.
Well, for the last week her and the kids were "houseguests from hell" according to my parents. I don't live in their city so I wasn't there for this visit.
My parents are very clean people, and my mom told me that they have to hire professional cleaners for their house because of my stepsister and her kids. I was shocked to hear that!
According to my mom, my stepsister spent the entire week on her phone, ignoring everyone and being extremely rude. She would scoff and roll her eyes when asked to do anything, and did not participate in any of the activities that my parents did with her kids. Also, she allegedly didn't wash her hands for that entire week.
Onto the main point, my mom said that the kids had a blast but my stepsister made no attempt to interact with her kids at all. She said that it's like that all the time for them, and I said "doesn't her son have autism? That makes it extra bad." and she said "We don't think he does! He's just a 9 year old little boy who wants to play. But his mom isn't interested in doing anything with him and his sister."
It's so sad that his mom labeled him as autistic because she can't be assed to take on a proper parental role for him. I'm pretty sure that he hasn't been officially diagnosed with autism - I doubt she would want to put in the effort to get him tested.
And when the kids were going home yesterday, they told my parents that they wished that they could stay. No wonder!

As there are many new aspiring candle makers on these threads, there is a lot of critical information gaps. As a candle making community it is important that everyone knows the basics to have a safe fun passion for candles. Any uninformed candle maker unknowingly flirting with danger or proper knowledge can impact the entire candle making community via bad publicity. The media loves the sensational click bait wow factor stories.
It would make for a good pinned post to cover the basics so new people have basic overview. Here are a few I've noticed that people don't know much about. Others should chime in as this is bare minimum.
Before giving away or especially selling candles:

1. you better know ASTM candle safety standards ,as well as for vessel standards. ASTM covers MINIMUM safety basics everyone should know. they are MINIMUM! safety standards!!! ..... flame height, vessel shock testing, vessel tilt test, candle labeling warnings, secondary ignition etccc....
2. you better know what flashpoint testing is for fragrances, waxes, and your finished candles
3. you better have liability insurance BEFORE you distribute or sell any candles. one claim will wipe you out of everything you have. defending yourself w/out insurance will prob wipe you out of everything you have personally.
4. you should have a business organization set up before you distribute or sell candles, see your cpa or business attorney for proper business org form (LLC, C, S-corp) for what makes best sense for you. one claim will wipe you out of everything you have personally.
5. candle product SDS safety data sheet, what info do you have on your completed product for consumers?

If you dont know 1-5 thoroughly at a bare Minimum, you should not sell or distribute your candles until you do so.
Have fun with the hobby making for yourself and experimenting, but remember these are combustible products in your and others homes. Not like burning a batch of brownies. Once it turns to making candles for others or for sale. It gets much more serious and should be taken seriously.

I've been together with this amazing girl for 7 months. We've met each other at work.
She had issues from previous relationships that she carried with her into ours. She delayed my request with me asking for us to make it a serious relationship but since January 2023, it was official.
We had struggles, our relationship was far from perfect but goddamn we love each other and we were working things out.
She broke up with me last Saturday and it fucking hurts because I love and like her so much and she tells me she feels the same about me.

NOTES:

1. When filling out the application, the options for the home where I will live were "I own," "I rent," or "Other." I selected other and explained my husband owns the property but we will add me to the mortgage and council tax once I have a residential visa. The form spit back a tick box saying I need proof of ownership of the house, ID for the owner, and a letter stating I have permission to live there. So, much like the fiance visa, we're having my husband do a letter that states I have permission to live in his house, gives details his house, his employment, and his custody arrangements for his son.
2. As mentioned in a previous post, when we were filling out the form, it spat out some weird questions regarding custody of my husband's son (my stepson) who is a UK citizen by birth (he was born in the UK to two UK citizens). We're including the documents requested, which were proof of his mom's residence with him and a birth certificate. It asked if he had a passport--I learned he did but it expired recently. The form wouldn't let me put in an expired passport's validity dates, so we ticked "no" to the question of whether the child had a passport but included a scan of the expired one and explained in both the cover letter and my husband's the wonkiness with the form. For proof of address, he recently took some mock exams. The school sent home a letter about the results to both our house and his mom's house. We have a scan of that letter since it shows her name and address and is regarding the step-son, so it should cover proof he lives with her part time and what her address is?
3. We also know we don't have to prove cohabitation since we're fiance visa to spousal visa, and we indicated such in my cover letter and his letter as my sponsor, but since I was able to get a revolut account 7 days after I entered the UK, we thought it was good to include proof that since the day I landed, I've been cohabitating with him. It also shows my account opened in my maiden name and my most recent statement in my married name in case they have any confusion about that.
4. We're sending in 6 months + current month since last time we applied we included the month we applied as one of the 6 months and they requested an additional month later in the process. Might have been an error on the ECO's part, but we'd rather be safe than sorry.

Anything we're missing?

So a couple months ago my step-daughter came home with a nasty infection under her eye the covered a decent amount of her face. It was so bad it looked like it had blistered.
Her mother told us that she had it for almost a week and that when her "nurse" mother-in-law came to visit looked at it and said it was fine and she should just cover it with a bandaid.
The next day was Monday and my my step-daughter developed a small fever. Because of the infection I was worried that it was causing the fever and she could get much worse really fast if we didn't do anything. I do have permission from her father my fiance to take her to the doctor.
Took her to the doctor, where we found out that it was a very serious and contagious infection, that could have lead to serious complications especially since it was located in the death zone of her face. I made the comment that step-daughters grandma (mom's mother-in-law) is not a doctor.
This got back to her mom, mom messages fiance telling him I'm a cow, tells him to keep his dog in her cage, claims I had no right to take her to the doctor, since mother in law looked at it and said it was fine.
She since then has blocked me and refuses to talk to me. It's nice not gunna lie.
But AITA for saying the mother-in-law isn't a doctor and taking my step-daughter to the doctor when she was sick and her father was at work?

TLDR: My ex felt like I didn’t trust him enough, so he broke things off. I would have just liked more communication, I tried to explain this. I was always upset whenever he came home after partying, he didn’t like that. I have to see him one more time, should I apologize for making him feel like I didn’t trust him?
Please note that the relationship was really good besides us having the same fight whenever he would go out.
Whole Story: My boyfriend (22M) broke things of with me (24F) about two weeks ago after 3 years of being together. He’s a big party guy, I’m not. I’ve never told him he couldn’t go out, but I would always get mad when he came home. We live together majority of our relationship. Often my anger came out of him not communicating with me throughout the night, I wasn’t expecting constant texts just updates. But he would always say he shouldn’t have to text me all the time because I should just trust him. He would stay the night places or come home super late, his plans would always change and he would never update me, so I do feel it was reasonable when I would get upset. He would always focus on the aspect that I need to trust him and be happy that he’ll come home eventually.
Remember I’m telling you my side, his perspective is probably very different. I don’t want anyone to think poorly of him because he truly is an amazing man. Our relationship was great on all levels, besides the party aspect. He had the same values, beliefs, and ways of thinking. We took care of each other in so many ways. We loved each other very deeply.
Well last summer he asked that I worked on my responses to him going out and maybe start trying to go out more with him. I started going out with him pretty regularly. I didn’t always enjoy it, but I was happy to make him happy. But it still never seemed to be enough and he never seemed to fully appreciate my effort. I think it’s cause when he drinks he wants to get as wild as possible and I was slowing him down.
Then December hit and I started experiencing bad gut issues. Possible IBS, absolutely nothing is helping. I feel I’ve tried it all. My doctor is trying to be helpful but I finally saw a GI and she was totally dismissive.
So I haven’t wanted to go out and he’s was being really supportive and helping me through it all. He would invite his friends over so I could still be with him. Then he wanted to go out for his birthday. I asked his plans and asked that he stuck to them. Well then he completely ended up staying somewhere different and ended up coming home later than he said and of course I got upset. We had a fight, made up, and moved on.
Then the next weekend he was helping his friend move. His friend picked him up and he left. It was getting late, around dinner time, so I called and asked if he was coming home or if I should figure out dinner on my own. He said they were getting in the truck now and he’d be on his way. (It’s a 25 minute drive) An hour went by so I kept calling him and when he answered he was super mad about me calling so much. I told him I was upset because he said he was on his way. He said they were but then they had to move more stuff and I should trust him and he kept asking if I wanted to speak to his friends because they’ll say the exact same thing. I told him I trust that he was doing what he said but I would also like to trust that he would come home when he says he’s coming home. I asked if I could come get him and he said no. He didn’t come home for another two hours…
When he got home we started to fight. He said the usual statement of me needing to trust him. I told him I can’t trust him if he doesn’t stick to his words. He asked if I trusted him and I said no, out of anger, and he said he was done. He said we were over because he could never marry someone who doesn’t trust him.
He said he was leaving to his parents. I thought great because they’ll calm him down… but instead he went to his friends house who doesn’t like me and has never showed any respect for our relationship. I want to make a note too that he thinks his friends such and stand up guy but honestly I have seen the way he manipulates his friends and has them do whatever he wants. Whenever my ex was drunk, even when I was there, he was trying to talk him in to doing really stupid things just so he could laugh at him with people. My ex would and probably will never realize this.
But it hurt knowing he went there. Because of course this guy is going to tell him everything he needs to hear to make him follow through with the breakup. My ex thinks his friend has his best interests but really his friend just wants him completely available to him.
He went to his parents the next day and called and said he was done. That we are toxic for each other and even his parents agree. This absolutely shattered my heart.
I texted his mom apologizing and saying I never meant to make our relationship seem toxic and that I’m sad they think that. She told me they never said we were toxic and that he needs to learn his own lessons. While I was in the process of moving out his Dad even came over legitimately crying because he loves me and said he’ll miss me. I later on asked my ex if his parents even encouraged him to end things and he said no.
Anyways I’ve lost my boyfriend who my best friend, my home, and temporarily my cat until I can get a place of my own. We still need to remove me from the lease, so that’ll be the last time I see him for awhile until I get the cat from him. I’m super confused about this all because we went from totally being in love that morning, that morning was really great, to split up by night. And now he seems to want nothing to do with me at all. And I am wondering if I should apologize.
Should I apologize for making it seem like I didn’t trust him? Should I apologize for getting so upset when he would finally come home after being out? Should I apologize for making him miserable? He said I gave him anxiety because he wasn’t able to blow off steam as much as he needed, so should I apologize for that? Should I apologize for making him feel like I was controlling?

I was in Portugal with my flights schedule back to the states on Monday. I flew out early Monday to Frankfurt and then connected from there to Detroit. I was alerted late Thursday that the flights would be cancelled. They ended up booking us a new flight home from FRA to DTW on Tuesday, however, they never rebooked (or even gave us an option) of a flight to get from Portugal to FRA in time. There were no other options beyond having to purchase a last minute one way ticket home from Portugal back to DTW.
Is Lufthansa supposed to reimburse this ticket? They are giving me the run around saying I am due no compensation (which I understand the cancellation compensation doesn’t apply here) but they were fully unable to honor our flights.
I just want to make sure I am in the right here trying to get reimbursed.

I’ve been working at a company that is a little more flexible with work from home (dad got sick so needed to go to a company that accommodated this). Basically moving there was a pay decrease from my previous job and a substantial drop from an offer received for working in the office (5k and 15k drops respectively)
Now it’s been 6 months and I really need the pay increase. I believe I’m doing a good job and my mentor really seems to like me and believes I have a good work ethic. When I was offered they knew the salary wasn’t enough but said we can revisit it down the road (carrot on stick kinda vibes). The differences don’t sound a lot but getting to market value is the difference of breaking even each month or saving some money so I really would like to resolve this soon, is it appropriate to ask for a raise now?
