Got diagnosed recently and finding this sub was a HUGE relief. I’ve been dealing with this for as long as I can remember and it’s so nice to know I’m not alone.
I’m going through a particularly bad hell week right now, and my rage is at an all time high. The boyfriend and I took a couple of foam bats and start going ham on the couch. And it was BEYOND helpful.
Until I broke the bat….And then the other bat. We went shopping for some new bats at a thrift store and I’m kinda starting to think about making a rage room for myself for when I experience the extreme anger. If I don’t have a physical release, I just take it out on my partner with verbal abuses. I really hate it and I want to find ways to stop myself.
I’m unmedicated right now for PMDD, but I am on a low dose of Zoloft for my chronic depression. I know I will have to get medicated in the near future but I want to have solutions that are not medication centered as well.
Have any of you guys built something like a rage room? Or are there any other ways you guys physically release your anger? I find that if I don’t release in some way, it just builds up and gets worse, uncontrollable.

I recently found this vintage Bulova Computron at a thrift store and want to replace the batteries but can't find much info about it online. The battery terminals look clean and I see no signs of corrosion, so I am hoping that a simple battery replacement will work. Can anyone help?

Fashionistas, I am seeking a higher end version of this sandal Open Edit by Nordstrom I actually bought these in SLC in 2021, wore them a handful of times and they got very worn out on the soles--they're very thin and inexpensive. I passed them on to the thrift store.
However, I ran across them in early 2023 at Nordstrom Rack and repurchased them as they were miraculously comfortable especially for a strappy evening sandal and I loved the interesting pink color. I wore them in Palm Springs a couple times and well...they're showing their "trendy inexpensive sandal" side, even after I took a minute to wash the soles to freshen them up.
I'm spending the long weekend going through my wardrobe and clearing it out, and rather than get rid of these altogether, I'd love to find a higher-end version of these.

Interesting construction--I love the way this sole is kind of "scooped" on the sides and I don't see that in many shoes.

Real leather or higher end construction, these are faux leather and the second pair has the same issues as the first--the soles are worn out and tatty looking after one wear.
An interesting color--I seem to like pink sandals (maybe it's my "nude" as an German Irish gal?), so perhaps coral, pink, blush, or something like that.

Hello! I don't have much experience with creating props or sewing (did some body paint and low-cost stuff before), but I'm more than willing to learn and can follow online guides as best as anybody.
My question is about practicality of a cosplay idea I had - making a Slender Man. If anyone has some tips regarding the points below, I would love to hear them out:

1. I want to create some stilts from wood, about 1 meter in length (3.2 feet). Creating them and learning to walk on them sounds do-able, my main question is what would be the best way to have the ends look like actual shoes, not just platforms or skinny poles. I was thinking of making the ends of the stilts screw into these things and then using a strong adhesive to stick some thrift store shoes on. Anyone with stilt-making experience, insight on feasibility?
2. Can you lengthen the arms and legs of a black suit in a believable way? (considering a thrift store purchase, as I would rather not ruin a pricy suit) I don't know how much skill and what technique would be required to add about 1 meter of length to arms and legs. Does a black suit make the seam blend easily? There's also the fact that I would be wearing stilts to take into consideration here - would wider pants look weird, or can the foot rest in such a way on the stilts (at an angle, like ballerinas) as to not add girth to the pant leg?

Since the sleeves would be longer, I would be sticking mannequin arms at the end of my own and have them jut out from the sleeves, completing the illusion of unnaturally long arms and legs. There are Ikea wood hands that would look good covered in some gloves - any idea if there are better ways to do this?
I've never taken on a project of this complexity, that would require such wood working and tailoring skills. I'm lucky to live in a big city and could muster the tools (there are places that rent equipment) and materials needed for this project, what I would love is some insight on how one would best create this cosplay.

Title says it all basically. So I have way too many half full spiral notebooks and whatnot due to classes so I decided to take them, cover them up with stickers and use them as journals as well. Does anyone else do this or just use basic school notebooks for their journals too? (I also have a lot of dollar store and thrift store journals but I like mixing it up every now and again). 😄

Someone told me this yesterday afternoon and honestly was the first time I ever heard anything of the sort; looked it up for myself because I just didn't feel right about it and I really didn't see anything that said you couldn't so....I personally think whatever or wherever they are getting their information from is just nonsense. I feel sometimes you see a deck and it just speaks to you and you know you need to take it home with you.
One time I knew a deck was trying to connect with me after I saw them at an old book thrift store but decided not to take them home with me even though I felt the connection to them; a few months go by and one night I had a lucid dream where I found the cards in a random store which I really didn't think would be possible seeing that I found them at a thrift store. A few days after the dream, me and my friend went to this metaphysical shop I'd never been to because I had just moved in the area, looking through all the tarot cards...I found it; I found the deck I had been looking for all that time and only a few days after having the dream. So obviously I took that as a sign that I was meant to be with these cards.
And then the other day I seen another deck of cards at the same thrift store and immediately knew I needed them but couldn't take them with me because I didn't have enough money and told myself that whenever I come back and they are still here, I would take them home with me; I went back today to sell some stuff I didn't want and looked in the tarot case for them to see if they were still there and they were and it made me incredibly happy to see them there so I did what I told myself I would do, I took them home with me and I'm glad I did.
I don't think you necessarily need to gift anyone tarot cards, I mean if you feel it's right by all means do it; sometimes I see decks of cards and associate them with different friends of mine and feel its the right thing to do but at the same time don't feel obligated to do that. You don't need to gift them or have them gifted to you for them to work.

First things first, i'm quite a noob when it comes to chef knives. I do like to cook a lot, but have been using a thrift store find myself, that i keep sharp by regular maintenance, but have never really dived deep into the subject.
I'm looking for a 70 to 130 euro chef knife and have not a clue on where to start looking, what brands and sites to trust and what makes a knife stand out or outperform the competition. Any suggestions on how to continue my search? I'd like the knife the be European made or at least easily bought for a European.

She should have written all that stuff she wanted back (that she just put in storage btw) as a loss. Most of its just thrifted dishes she could buy all new stuff at the thrift store in FL. Whether all her things were worth $500 or $5000 it was not worth her going back for.
This was all emotionally fueled and she subconsciously wanted a way to see Matt again.
I for sure thought she was doing drugs + manic… but she would have copped a drug charge. I don’t think she’s in a sane enough kind to leave her paraphernalia home, hence I think this may just be a very manic episode.

We are avid thrifters, and may want to hit up some shops while staying in Corolla mid-June. Not looking for expensive house decor antiques, more looking for cheap clothes, electronics, and junk shops. I see you have a CHKD Thrift, that is more our speed.
