Previously I posted about my middle school corvid club. I am also a woodshop and STEAM teacher so the kids have access to laser cutting and woodworking tools. The kids want to start Corvid Club off by building a feeder for our Corvid friends.
There’s a small murder of American crows that likes to hang out high in the pine trees outside of a third story window at school. We’ve also seen a couple ravens and jays around. There are bears & squirrels on campus but I figured the feeder being high off the ground would leave the snacks for the birds.
There’s a small slate ledge out of the window. If we made a clear acrylic platform to suction cup to the window about six inches above the ledge, do you think the crows, ravens and jays would like it? Would they be freaked out by the window reflections or anything?

As a 17-year-old female, I am grappling with a profound sense of loneliness and emptiness. It has recently dawned on me that I lack any dreams to live for, or any real purpose in life. I wonder if I have become desensitized to pain because I simply do not feel much of anything anymore. Over the past 3-4 years, my grades have plummeted, and I cannot even recall the last time I genuinely smiled. My parents were emotionally and physically abusive towards me throughout my upbringing. However, when my younger sister was born, my parents showered her with love, while I was left to fend for myself. While I am glad that my sister did not have to endure what I did, I cannot help but feel envious of the love and attention she received. In my attempts to find love and validation elsewhere, I have repeatedly dated toxic older men, since my parents never provided me with any affection or support. I was not permitted to use social media, and I was never allowed to hang out with friends, which caused me to lose many friendships and my social skills. As a confident and bold girl, I was very popular and well-liked due to my maturity and attractiveness. However, my parents' strictness made it difficult for me to make new friends. Eventually, I became a couch potato, gained a significant amount of weight, and even lost much of my hair. Despite having big plans to conquer the world and start my own business when I was 15, my confidence and ambition slowly dwindled over time, especially when COVID-19 hit. My grades have deteriorated so much that I have gone from being an A student to an F student. I now find myself completely friendless. If my sister and I were placed in a glass box, and strangers were asked to pick someone to hang out with, I know that they would choose my sister. She exudes a bright aura, fills a room with her joy and positivity, and never seems to be stressed about anything. Meanwhile, I have a pessimistic attitude and a resting bitch face, which makes it challenging for me to open up to others. Although I am actually a highly sensitive person, it takes time for people to recognize that I am not the same person on the inside as I appear to be on the outside. Overall, my GPA has taken such a nosedive that I feel as though I have no chance of having a good life. Waking up every day is a tremendous challenge, and all I want is for the pain to disappear so that I can finally rest.i just want the pain to go away. lord i just wanna rest. ugh idk there’s a lot more to say but i’m too tired to type. i’ve been thinking of taking my life for a really long time.

Everybody talks about how bpd makes you throw breaks ups around even when you don’t mean it, but I haven’t seen anyone talk about how to recognize when those feelings are genuine and that you are not compatible with this other person.
Ive been with my partner for two and a half years and was only recently diagnosed with bpd, so I was not able to see things clearly like I do now even though it’s been very hard to work on my “new issues”.
When I got with my partner I had rose colored glasses on, as you do with new relationships. Even in the beginning he had a lot of baggage and some mental hang ups and I desperately wanted to help him or “save” him. But honestly, even with ideation of him he hurt me in ways that I felt was unreasonable and inexcusable. Before my diagnosis I was relatively aware that I could over react to things and that I had bad anxiety that was my responsibility to manage, so I would communicate my anxieties and insecurities openly so that he could be aware of them and we could come to a healthy compromise, which on paper we did. But he crossed those boundaries early on countless times and every time I cried or would stress out he would just apologize profusely and manage to do it again. Over and over.
I ended up breaking up with him several times over the last two years due to boundary crossing and poor communication on both of our parts. I feel as if half of those breakups were me freaking out and going over board, and that the other half were reasonable and justified…
Anyways he asked me to go to therapy to work out my issues and I agreed (despite him never going when I asked him to). We live together so he’s buttered me up every time we split up and I always go back to him and now a days, now that I’m in therapy and thinking more clearly, I’m starting to really believe we are not a good fit for each other but sometimes we still have really good days though they’re more rare.
I’m having a hard time figuring out if Im thinking clearly.. all I know is I’m unhappy with him a majority of the time and I thought therapy would help with that, but it feels progressively worse. Any advice?

I don’t mean to be controversial, but I’d like to know. Did anyone else see the religious post from them on social media yesterday? I was following it and everyone’s comments were being deleted unless they were praising. This makes me incredibly sad, as I was planning to apply to vend or just attend one of their events (I make stained glass suncatchers and plant dyed clothing) and now I just don’t know.

Hi guys, i have a raincoat that i forgot to dry before storing it. Now it has mold growing in it. Whats the best way to get rid of it?
Its waterproof, so not sure if it has any impact on that?
Bonus points if you could tell me how to remove rust stains on it too cos i accidentally left it hanging on a rusty fence once

To make a long story short: Against my better judgement, the wife wanted to use a water based finish on top of our stain for our new par top (no smell, quicker drying, does not amber over time). After 6 coats and letting it cure, test spots of jack daniels on the finish for 5-10 minutes left white spots (presumably moisture under the finish). I called the manufacturer, Minwax, and he said try their outdoor spar urethane all weather water finish. I did, 4x coats. First test of JD wiped the finish right up.
Again, against my better judgement. I wanted oil based or epoxy, but here we are. Some woodworking folks said sanding it down at this point to bare wood would be a massive undertaking considering how many coats I have on it. And the wife, again, is against that.
My contractor that built the bar said try shellac. I did on a test strip with better results but it still left a white mark.
The options Im considering.

1. Glass/Tempered Glass/Laminate glass on top of our current bar top. We like the look the stain has and the finish we applied, its just not durable at the moment. This might cost as much as the bar but it is what it is.
2. Have someone, my contractor maybe, come in and remove the bar top and replace with formica/quartz/granite. Im nervous about this because of potential damage to the shiplap (the outside face we used to cover the frame), or damage to the frame)

I took delivery of a new 2023 F150 the end of February (ordered early October) , one week later I notice a puddle on the driver floor (thanks to aftermarket mats) , carpet is all wet underneath, condensation on the windows, bummer. What really bothered me is the fact that the fuse block is dripping with water, I don't like to mix my electric with water...
Fast forward to today, the truck has been in my garage a total of 17 nights, it's been at a local Ford dealer for a total of 16 days now (plus 2 more to diagnose), sitting in their shop with no windshield and no plastic (windshield broke when they tried to remove it). There was also a piece of trim on the top of the cab missing which exposed a visible hole and another entry point for water.
Their (dealerships) glass installer said the windshield had been resealed before and pointed out the primer that was used by someone after the OEM install, he said they don't come from Dearborn looking like this.
Today the new windshield is supposed to be installed and I pray this solves the problem, but here's my question - should I be concerned that this truck sat in a Michigan parking for 3 months over the winter leaking thru the windshield, freezing and thawing with moisture on the floorboards/carpet and on the fuse block?
I've never spent this much money on a vehicle before and I feel like I'm getting a damaged product. I doubt anyone is going to write me a pretty letter saying if you ever have any electrical problems 4 years down the road, Ford will cover it.
Am I being too petty? For a list price of $72k, should I always have to wonder if this will be a concern?
