Well today is Wednesday, I don't have classes since my schedule is Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, anyways, I'm still shock that I can open my problems to someone without crying, but not gonna lie, my voice is shaking when I talked about my hardships with them. You'll probably wonder, who's those guys I open my family problem? Well... I've never thought that I'll have this kind of friends again. It's been a while since I felt good, releasing those madness. Tuesday at 10:40, our GenChem Teacher, Miss Arizza, discusses about solid and liquid properties, a short discussion, then she said that we can go to library to research for our activity. There's two discussion room, we booked the empty one. It's nice and cozy. While writing and searching up on Google, we keep a low voice since it's not even sound proof but I guess we can't even shut our mouths talking about life 'ya know? And as usual, I'm the only one who's still writing, I like struggling so much, while them, short-cutting their papers, but since we have time until 1:20, it's an advantage that we can stay as long as we want. After I've finish my papers, Pabi(Peavy) ask if we can hang out, the five of us only. Since we didn't have a time, where not complete everytime we want to hang out, it's because of our tight schedule. They asked if we can hangout later after the GenChem subject, Fiona said that she have training for volleyball and they said if we can do it tomorrow (Wednesday), which is this day, but I said "Im not at home, I'm going to manila to make appointment with Tulfo. if you didn't know who's Tulfo is, he's a Famous tv broadcaster and one of our government senate, he also helps to those people who needs help. They are shocked, and ask if we'll be broadcasted on live, and I should shout out them and our teachers who give us a lot of activity, I laughed like maniac, it's just I feel comfortable around them. I said "idk what will happen, but I really don't know if we'll be broadcasted" And they asked, what happened, why we need to go to Mr. Tulfo, this is the interesting turn that I tell how fucked up my life is. I said the first thing "you know other father's around there that they have guts when they're drunk?well my father isn't. He have a huge gut even he's not drunked." "It begins when my mom goes to Batangas for treatment, you know, we have this cancer in ovary that is hereditary. Ovarian cyst. My mo go to Batangas to treat and gone for almost 2-4 days. My mom and dad aren't in good terms when she go to Batangas, but since where responsible daughters, we can live in our own, we also know that she's in Batangas because she always talked to us if she's having a hard time like we used to do. We didn't say where our mom go to our father 'cuz we know that he'll never care or he'll just get mad to my mom. Long story short, my mom came home, around 11 or 12 in the evening, and I'm still up. I came downstairs to help her and bring her things in the house, then there's our damn father, throwing away my mom's things, she can't even say a word since it's hard to talk fresh from treatment. When where about to enter the house, he suddenly shut the door and locked out. Since I'm the only one who's up that day, we stayed outside while waiting for my sister to open it. Everyone outside was looking and also worried. Cut all the other happenings, were now in and out in our Barangay Women's Desk, because of his doings. We also stayed up late just to watch our gate, since there's someone who's watching us. My mom is connected to NPA(communist) before, we called it "itaas", and now she's clear, she turns into our Government, but my father threat us that he'll said about my mom's clearing her name to "itaas" and where so scared like how tf?, I didn't said that (to Fiona,pabi,Mavi,Jianne) our life got fucked up because of my father's jealousy that he's coming up with conclusion that my mom is cheating and that she's cheating with a Militar. Like the fuck?I'm so shocked that he'll said that, like he's the one who's been cheating in 18 years of their relationship. Now that my mom have enough, we planned to have DNA test with the help of Mr. Tulfo to test if I'm his real daughter, because he said that I'm not his daughter and all because of one thing that I stood up against his abused for my mom, mentally. You know, I'm daddy's girl. He can't believe that his girl is against her now. I don't even know him though. Before, he even picking me up to school and he'll let me sit in his shoulder while we go home and it's even raining,I-i would say that I miss my old father, but why he didn't consider to think what he's doing?like I didn't matter at all. I know it's against my will but I have to make him realize that we've been through a lot and he need to realize what he waste for years. If I have a power to bring his old self, I would love to. I would love to spend those days. I would love to hug him, kiss him while I'm off to school, I would love to be my father again, I just want apologies, but I didn't get one instead I get hatred. I should be the ones who's hating him but I can't. I can't even look him in the eyes whenever I bump to him, I always keep the eyes of "I don't know you, I don't give a fuck" While telling this to my friends, I kinda feel comfortable letting some percent of my hardship let out. Their faces is like "how fucked up are you, really?" Fiona said " so he's like a threat to your family, so you decide to do this?" Of course I had enough, I can't bring back my old father. It's the only way, I know his other childs will hate us, but I don't care, I don't even want you as my sisters and brothers.
I'm his First Child with his second wife(my mom) I'm also the eldest daughter and acting the father and mother for my other sisters, I may his sweet innocent little girl before, but not anymore. He made me hate him, he made all of this fuss without considering our feelings, he made a villain, but I'm not letting those hatred make me down. I'm just doing this to see if he'll change, if not, may God make the way. And I also wonder while people keep asking after they know about that story, "why would you do that to your father", "he's still your father" let's switch position then. You can't blame me for those, stop those act like people care and know what happen, why I hate him so much that I don't want him as father, that I didn't even wish to born, stop those shitty things like comforting me with those words. It's not helping. Y'all don't know what I've been through, you don't know how depression and anxiety made myself, that I need to hide just to please other that I'm ok while deep inside im not. 'cuz even if I tell that I have this fucked up life, bo one will care. All I just want to say, that if you're a father or a daughter that reading this, I hope this story of mine will give you realization in life. If you think your life is fucked up, that your relationship is fucked up. Think again, I don't want other Teen like me will suffer like this, I know it's not physical abuse, but it's mental abuse. After that discussion with them, we all talked about something and make me laugh so it won't bring stress, its happy that they listen to my story without questioning, they just sit and listen to my rant, they maybe shocked but guess there always grief in someone. I love Adam Driver as an actor, i think he always plays such interesting characters, i loved him in Patterson and cared so much for his struggle in Hungry Hearts, and i always enjoy anything he’s in, and i did enjoyed his pretentious teacher character, but i did not get any single thing of White Noise… like at all, that movie was so all over the place, (spoilers ahead) why was there a Toxic cloud event and suddenly disappear? Why the story turned into a revenge story with Mr. Gray?? Why it turns into a religious believe system crisis??? I finished the movie with the brain all mushy because i didn’t get it! And that annoyed me, i like Adam Driver movies, did i missed something????

The fights

We've seen a lot of fights throughout the series, but the always tend to fall in the same categories. The Straw Hat pirate themselves also tend to stay within the same categories when it comes to their fights.

Desperate fights

These are fights were the only way to victory is some type of surpassing your limits or learning something new to win. They usually make for the most memorable fights since they show the most struggle. Most "extreme diff" fights we see in the story are fights like these.
Zoro, Luffy and Usopp are the characters we see in these types of fights the most. The kings of "learning in battle" they tend to obtain most of their powerups in the heat of battle.

• Examples:
  • Usopp:
    • Learning Haki (because the life of his crew depended on it)
    • Has a theme of "discovering his courage" which usually wins him the fight
  • Luffy:
    • Learning G5 (to win against Kaido)
    • Learning ACoC (to challenge Kaido)
    • Learning FS (to beat Katakuri)
    • Using CoC for the first times (saving Ace)
  • Zoro:
    • Learning ACoC (to beat King)
    • Leaning to cut steel/haki? (to beat Mr.1)
    • Surpassing the ordinary (to beat Hachi)
    • First time using CoC/ACoC? (to cut Kaido)

A common characteristic of these types of fight is cheating death. Which is something that these three (especially Zoro) tend to do in a lot of their fights. The main thing to keep in mind about "desperate fights" is that the fight itself is essential to the power growth of a character. The character from before the fight and the one from after the fight are not same and do not know the same stuff.

Emotional fights

These tend to be the go to fights for the more character driven Straw Hat fighters. Best examples being Jinbe, Brook and Sanji. With these fights, inner turmoil often ends up being the main enemy. The opponent usually ends up being taken out by a technique that was already known/was always in their arsenal. These range everywhere form "low" to "high diff". Usually the trigger ends up being a dig at the characters allies or ideals which prompts them to get serious.

• Examples:
  • Jinbe:
    • All the fishman Karate we've seen him use seems to be techniques he's known all along.
    • All of the new stuff we see from him boils down to: "Ok, now I'm mad! *insert stronger attack*"
  • Brook:
    • Everything we've seen from him seems to be stuff he's learned out of combat or stuff he's known all along.
    • Cold Soul is something he just picked up along the way
    • Soul King; the soul monster in WCI did not come as a surprise to him, he just kinda knew how to do it
  • Sanji:
    • Diable Jambe and Ashura were both powerups that Zoro and Sanji seemed to just know they could do
    • His genes did awaken in battle, but not because of battling
    • When he used Ifrit Jambe, he alluded to always being able to create flames as hot as those
    • Sky walk is something he picked up in TS
    • Even with the Raid Suit, the only reason he put it on was to hide his identity more than just getting more power

The main characteristic of these types of fights is a big reveal. The fighter usally reveals something he's had all along, and uses that "new" power to put an end to the fight. Compared to the other type of fights, the character usually knows the same things at the beginning and at the end of the fight. Though the fight serves as a showcase of their powers, it doesn't serve to directly make them stronger.

Conclusion

The reason I say we've never seen Sanji go all out applies to characters like Jinbe and Brook as well. While we've seen Zoro and Luffy push themselves to the brink of death in the hopes of finding the upper hand in a fight, these three have never had death and limit breaking as a part of their fights. They usually dispose of their opponents (or get disposed of) before reaching and adequate challenge that would stimulate their growth. And as such, we've never seen them go all out to beat an opponent stronger than them through learning/evolving.

I was wondering how Tien just came out of nowhere to save Dende and Mr.Satan, and how he wasn’t killed by Buu when he killed everyone else. He didn’t leave him like he did Hercule, did he?

I am a consulting engineer, raised by an consulting architect and consulting engineer who owned multiple companies and was on the Exec board of multiple others. Having watched my parents professional relationships, and now experiencing some of this myself, I can tell you that the blow-ups on Destiny's streams are really not that different between blow-ups between people in my industry, they're just colored with an crazy entertainment lens and public fallout.

I have seen multiple 20+ year professional friendships blow-up over professional backstabs/disagreements regarding winning certain projects, fucking people over on contracts, and even sexual scandals that happen in offices. Shit like this is incredibly regular and it usually happens because hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of dollars worth of work can be on the line, and even bigger than that, people can feel like their passion and their integrity are on the line.

There was one time at my dad's company where my dad knew a competitor, let's call him Dave; my dad had a cordial professional friendship with Dave for a few decades. That competitors friend, John, had gotten a DUI and lost his professional engineering license over it. Dave asked my dad to take John on because he was a good engineer stuck in a bit of a rut, losing your license obviously looks bad when job searching. My dad took him on as a favor, and after a year John was able to get his license back, and after my dad stuck his neck out for both Dave and John, they basically backstabbed my dad and John went to work for Dave, my dad's competitor. Now a lot of people might read this and go, duh Dave was your dad's competitor, what did you expect. But when you have close personal relationships with people, sometimes you can overestimate people's integrity, or you can just be the type of person who does good stuff for people, and sometimes that means getting taken advantage of especially professionally where money is on the line.

This burned the bridge between my dad and both of these people and my dad stopped talking to them and really didn't collaborate with John or Dave at all anymore. I think some of this stuff is avoidable, Mr. Girl and Lav are two people who are pretty obviously fucking insane, but with Brittany I think the reality is that sometimes work and friends just don't always work out. When you have to go to work, and you have competing interests where not just your paycheck, but your PASSION is at stake it can cause a huge rift. I think you can say the same thing for people like Hasan, this is the perils of doing business sometimes and it can't always be avoided.

At the end of S6E9, Jimmy mentions two of Kim's clients: a "poor guy" named Mr. Yarborough and a kid in foster care. Are these characters ever in the show in any capacity?

If you don’t want a read a damn essay then skip this post💀.
With the cynicism and overt criticism surrounding this film a part of me was a little scared that the criticism for this movie was deserved because I liked the first Shazam and I really wanted to like the 2nd one. I just came out of the theatre a few hours ago and I can honestly say that I actually had a blast watching this and really enjoyed it. It’s a fun popcorn flick. While this move isn’t a masterpiece by any means, it delivered on what it was sold to be; a family friendly fun action packed very funny superhero film, I enjoyed it heavily! Hot take but it’s actually now one of my favourite DCEU Films now.
It sucks that WB is pretty much sending this out to die right now because I really liked getting to know these characters more in this film and seeing their dynamics play out more.
The movie definitely would’ve been received better if it came last year like it was supposed to before all the string of more mediocre superhero content came out to really taint people’s opinion on superhero films that don’t push the envelope or try newer things. Also would’ve probably benefitted from having Black Adam show up and be the villain (but we all know why that never happened) or at least have a Sivana and Mr Mind payoff.
I definitely feel like the criticism for this movie was overblown. Is this story a little generic? Yes! But not every movie needs to be some revolutionary thing like TDK or Endgame. Some people are just setting high standards because they want to be disappointed and have a reason to be pissed at something. I really wouldn’t say this is mediocre? A little generic and silly? Sure but not mediocre at least in my opinion. Though I don’t believe in superhero fatigue as a whole, I do feel like a vocal group of people are dealing with personal fatigue with the superhero genre and just want more from superhero movies since the market is oversaturated and overexposed.
The over-saturation is definitely a major factor with as to why movie is getting so much shit (obviously there are other factors which do include valid criticisms) because simply it’s not pushing the envelope but not every superhero movie needs to do that! Some of these movies like action films are just meant to be fun and an escape from reality. But also considering where DC is right now I think some people had a little hope that despite the Shazam franchise being mainly known for it’s fun nature hoped it could help ease some sort of fatigue and give hope for the DCU going forward by bringing something more innovative (it left me hopeful anyway even though it won’t be an important player moving forward).
I’m also not saying Shazam can’t try different things and push the envelope but just because it doesn’t do that necessarily, doesn’t mean it’s a bad film. In addition to some people saw no point in watching or enjoying this film because of the likely chance that it’ll go nowhere in the overall DCU story moving forward. Sorry to be a broken record but while some of the criticism and amount of people disliking the movie are completely valid in how they’ feel (as some people just want more from Shazam and superhero movies in general). I do think some people are just being cynical and want it to fail because of the unsure state of the DCU and their own personal fatigue with superhero genre as I said before
I personally look at the superhero genre more expansively than Westerns as they’re often compared to, I really don’t think superhero genre will ever die out. It’s been nearly a century of constant superhero content in various medias being promoted and it hasn’t completely died out yet so I don’t see it ever dying any time soon especially as long as kids exist. The genre is diverse enough to keep going, sometimes not as strong as other periods it has done well in but it’ll do fine no matter what as a whole.

When Henry was shot and Shawn was freaking out he stated “90% of gun shots are all just mental” or something along those lines and the doctor responds “no that’s not true” in my mind I just can’t get past the fact that Shawn had been shot (and it’s one of my favorite episodes tbh) and you’d think even with him freaking out he’d say something like “Dad you’ll be fine I was shot before and I’m fine” or whatever the hell he’d say and not just that I feel as though it’s largely forgotten for the rest of the series, it could have been a great mini arch or Shawn getting pass a fear of guns or getting shot again, having to get passed it to save someone during “Mr. Yin presents” maybe have yin with a gun on him and him getting passed his fear of getting shot again to save Abigail or Jules.
