Numbers 8

2023.04.01 12:47 KingofSpain0 Numbers 8

Numbers 8:1-26
The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Speak to Aaron and say to him, ‘When you set up the lamps, see that all seven light up the area in front of the lampstand.’”
3 Aaron did so; he set up the lamps so that they faced forward on the lampstand, just as the Lord commanded Moses. 4 This is how the lampstand was made: It was made of hammered gold—from its base to its blossoms. The lampstand was made exactly like the pattern the Lord had shown Moses.

5 The Lord said to Moses: 6 “Take the Levites from among all the Israelites and make them ceremonially clean. 7 To purify them, do this: Sprinkle the water of cleansing on them; then have them shave their whole bodies and wash their clothes. And so they will purify themselves. 8 Have them take a young bull with its grain offering of the finest flour mixed with olive oil; then you are to take a second young bull for a sin offering. 9 Bring the Levites to the front of the tent of meeting and assemble the whole Israelite community. 10 You are to bring the Levites before the Lord, and the Israelites are to lay their hands on them. 11 Aaron is to present the Levites before the Lord as a wave offering from the Israelites, so that they may be ready to do the work of the Lord.
12 “Then the Levites are to lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, using one for a sin offering to the Lord and the other for a burnt offering, to make atonement for the Levites. 13 Have the Levites stand in front of Aaron and his sons and then present them as a wave offering to the Lord. 14 In this way you are to set the Levites apart from the other Israelites, and the Levites will be mine.
15 “After you have purified the Levites and presented them as a wave offering, they are to come to do their work at the tent of meeting. 16 They are the Israelites who are to be given wholly to me. I have taken them as my own in place of the firstborn, the first male offspring from every Israelite woman. 17 Every firstborn male in Israel, whether human or animal, is mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set them apart for myself. 18 And I have taken the Levites in place of all the firstborn sons in Israel. 19 From among all the Israelites, I have given the Levites as gifts to Aaron and his sons to do the work at the tent of meeting on behalf of the Israelites and to make atonement for them so that no plague will strike the Israelites when they go near the sanctuary.”
20 Moses, Aaron and the whole Israelite community did with the Levites just as the Lord commanded Moses. 21 The Levites purified themselves and washed their clothes. Then Aaron presented them as a wave offering before the Lord and made atonement for them to purify them. 22 After that, the Levites came to do their work at the tent of meeting under the supervision of Aaron and his sons. They did with the Levites just as the Lord commanded Moses.
23 The Lord said to Moses, 24 “This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years old or more shall come to take part in the work at the tent of meeting, 25 but at the age of fifty, they must retire from their regular service and work no longer. 26 They may assist their brothers in performing their duties at the tent of meeting, but they themselves must not do the work. This, then, is how you are to assign the responsibilities of the Levites.”

2023.04.01 12:46 Konradleijon Breaking down of what Primarch’s are Uke’s and which ones are Seme’s

Breaking down of what Primarch’s are Uke’s and which ones are Seme’s
.All assessments are based on pre-Heresy personas.
Uke: Guilliman, Horus, Lorgar, Mortarion, Dealer’s Choice Missing Primarch, Perturabo, Magnus, Corax, Curze, Angron
Semme: Jaghatai Khan, Lion El Jonson, Rogal Dorn, Sanguinius, Other Missing Primarch, Alpharius, Fulgrim, Vulkan, Ferrus Manus, Leman Russ
I have reasons.
Daddy issues for Angron, Perturabo, and Mortarion (also Angron just needs a break and really who wants to be on the other end of that jackhammer), need-to-please/hero worship for Horus, Lorgar, and Guilliman, Curze just needs some loving, and Corax likes to ride on rockets. Magnus just seems as though he would appreciate the attention but maybe he’s a switch. Curze could also be a switch because I don’t think Night Haunter is anyone’s sub.
The Khan, the Lion, and the Gorgon all read like straightforward doms, Fulgrim, Sanguinius, and Dorn all want to master their arts and I can only imagine that means being more active as lovers, Leman Russ is probably the only Primarch to have ever bedded anyone which again I think means a leading role, Vulkan just seems like the kind of guy who likes making smaller guys make squeaky happy sounds, and Alpharius seems kind of seductive, but he could be a switch too.
And there you have it. The important answers to life’s big questions. Now I’m going to go hide myself from the shame of this entire thread.

2023.04.01 12:46 dfordisillusioned HSG Experience and Result

My HSG experience is, unlike most stories that I've read about or watched online, painless. It's uncomfortable, yes, but I won't call the sensation the "most painful feeling in my life" contrary to what I expected based on others' experience. Either my pain tolerance is so high, my preparation is so spot-on (took Hyoscine butylbromide 30 minutes prior) or the RE performed the procedure so well.
What makes me feel uneasy is the result. The radiologic interpretation says I have "bilateral patent tubes". However, when I looked at the X-ray image, I find the appearance of the fallopian tubes concerning: the right looks like it is blocked while the left looks like it is dilated.
My RE said that, according to the radiologic specialist, the left tube filled so fast. The right tube did fill but its appearance in the X-ray image is faint. My RE confirmed that the left tube is indeed dilated but not a cause for concern because there was spillage – in fact, the dye filled and spilled so fast that she ruled it as a functional tube.
Anyone who has a dilated tube and/or a patent tube that appeared super faint in the image? I'm happy about the interpretation but I can't help but feel anxious. Thank you!

2023.04.01 12:45 LudwigVoltraTheDev [IWantOut] 24M FR -> US

Hi, I'm 24 and born French. I'm a State Certified Engineer in Computer Science (i.e. Engineering Degree, equivalent to a Master's). I'm currently a front-end developer (which is what I love to do). I'm definitely good at it, and reaching further and further with time.
I can't stand the attitude anymore, people not understanding the meaning of the word "vacation", always tearing each other down, always needing something from me, always demanding more, and my family.
There's someone I know that is American, and thought if I had to chose anything it'd be there. English (and American English) is a language I love and would definitely not be an issue.
As far as I'm aware (correct me if I'm wrong), based on me being an Engineer I have a few visa options available to me as long as I can find a company willing to hire and sponsor me for it. (Dual) citizenship could also be on the table, but I think it'd be easier after having worked and lived there for a while.
As far as "work culture" goes, I'm not a big fan of anything that resembles a cult or a "family", that's just people trying to invade your privacy and personal life. I prefer to chill and cool down alone.
I don't mind group activities. I'm definitely far from being the most social person, but if I feel like it I can participate.
As work itself goes, I do prefer working as part of a team (ideally with at least a web designer and a back-end developer). Separation of concerns is definitely a key factor in this field.
When it comes to health, I guess I'm relatively normal? I never get sick beyond a common cold. My only issues are my struggles to gain weight and my love for sugar which sometimes leads to cavities.

2023.04.01 12:45 maryleen17 My first time as an Eve - AVAGYAN family

I was born as an Eve, very surprised as I never experienced this before in the big world (bigserver2). My first thought was, I will die here in the wilderness, as it is first two weeks ago, that I started the circle of life and death on OHOL. I feel, that I do really not have enough skills to survive as an Eve - or even to start a brand new family in this chaotic world. I even do not understand, how all this family moving and trading works, where to get oil from, let alone smithing. So, a sudden death seemed to be the easiest solution.
But no! You are supposed to be an Eve, I thought. Try to make the best out of it, said some voice from above. You are an Eve for a reason!
Okay. I wiped away my suicidal visions and travelled east. I read somewhere, everything could be better east, and never west. So, I sharpened a stone and found some carrots. I saw a lot of bears and wolves, and mosquitos, and I wondered, why so many people die because of animals, as all animals always let me travel in peace. Maybe destiny, maybe luck.
I found some bones and clothes shattered around them, so at least I did not need to continue my journey all naked. I looked really nice. I think I was a black Eve, but I don´t know exactly. Only sure, that I wasn´t white. Maybe something between black and white. Everything is so confusing in this big world and it seems I only always scratch the surface.
During my travelling, I gave birth to 3 daughters, who all together died within a few seconds. I was sad and reliefed at the same time, as I was very busy finding out what the hell to do next. Actually, I had no time for babies in the wilderness, but I knew of course, that - as an Eve - I would need a daughter at some point.
Suddenly I came along signs of civilization and two people stood in front of me. They were farming. When I approached, one of them said "FY". I am not 100 % sure, what that means, but I have an idea... and I supposed, that I was not welcome here. I continued my journey. Always further east, never west. So much I know.
Many years and wild carrots later, I came to a big town.
WOW. This was a beautiful town. There were a lot of dead bodies around, but noone living showed up. I examined the area, and decided to stay a little and tidy the mess up. The city was somewhat cluttered and I did not know where to begin. I was 38 years old now and started to wonder again, if my life does have any meaning. If I should continue working in this town or just give up on myself. As I would very soon be too old for more children. After my late 3 babies, who had left me immediately, I had given up any hope, that some baby would ever stay with me, the very poor, new and unexperienced Eve AVAGYAN.
But then! Halv a year later, on the farm. I gave birth to a little girl! At age of 38,5 years. I hold my breath and took her into my arms. Would she die, as my 3 daughters did before? She was the AVAGYANS last chance.
She looked me into my eyes and I loved her wholeheartedly. I named her Belle. I told her, that I was the only Eve, and that I had travelled 35 years to find a good place to live. And that I just found it here. She looked happy, and when she grew older, she told me, that her soul before Belle had belonged to the ENEA family, and that they have lived and died in exactly this town. Destiny!
We promised each other, that we would bring new life into this town.
We began to tidy up together and prepared some pies. I started a fire, to be prepared in case Belle would get children some time.
Some riders came along, and I was very nervous if they would take everything from us with their carts, they seemed to be looting. But they seemed very friendly. They asked us, if we lived here, and they were obiously very happy to see new life in this town.
My Belle gave birth to three daughters, and when I died as the first Eve, my soul got reborn as Belles daughter. So I became Evea AVAGYAN and was my own granddaughter. How confusing the circle of life and death can be.
When I left my second life in the new AVAGYAN family, we had 14 family members all together and half of them were fertile. I decided, it had been a very good choise not to give up as an Eve, and when I died, my last thoughts were, how proud I am, having managed to start my first family, against all odds. May we live long together in this family and town.

About The Course:
This course outlines the systems and secrets I used to make over $300,000+ in my first year with entrepreneurship
While I was still 17 years old…
And was also a high school dropout…
So what’s your excuse? It’s time to crush it.
I want you to take a moment and imagine a world where you could…
Never worry about money ever again. Build a six figure marketing agency and the best part? it’s a reality that all of my students are living RIGHT NOW. Take care of your family & loved ones. Yeah… this is something close to my heart. My marketing agency finally allowed me to take care of my mom and the people who believed in me when I had nothing. Travel the world, anytime! Yes… that’s right. After this course you will have the location freedom to travel anywhere in the world you want!
Now, who is the genius (kidding… kinda) behind this whole course?
Let me introduce myself, my name is Iman. At the age of Seventeen, I dropped out of high school to commit to the world of online marketing. Within my first year I had made over $300,000+, I had traveled the world working from my computer, I had constructed my dream lifestyle and this was all done through the power of what I teach in Six Figure SMMA. I run my own digital marketing agency based out here in London, although we have clients out in Amsterdam and St. Tropez.
I have my personal brand which is another six figure business…
Then I have a few other smaller income streams here and there. I love the internet! Haha
Damn… I worked hard for this life. I worked hard to create the sort of income where I can take care of my family and not even check the price…
I guess that’s why I’m so passionate about what I teach. It’s because it changed my life in unexplainable ways. I don’t think I could ever go back to my old life after living like this.

2023.04.01 12:41 dwredbaker Free justification in Galatians~D. W. "Red" Baker

Galatians 6:14~"But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world."
"God forbid" ~Yet vain man pays no attention to Pauls' words, and seek to share the glory of man's salvation from sin and condemnation. They glory in two main ways: first, they truly believe man has a part in his salvation from sin and condemnation. Most all teach man has a free will with the ability/power to chose to love and follow God or the love of sin. They reject that man is totally depraved and is at enmity against God., etc. etc.
Secondly, that believe they have the power to saved man that is at enmity against God, by having them to say the sinner's prayer, etc. They reject John's teaching that man is not born of the will of the FLESH, or the will of man or the soul winner as they call them. They truly believe that man IS born of BOTH the will of the FLESH (man's decision to come) and the will of man, or, by preaching, or the soul winner. I have heard men boasting of the millions saved under their ministry.
While I agree men are saved "practically speaking" and converted unto the truth THROUGH preaching, yet only those who were FIRST born of God can hear, see and be converted to a more perfect understanding of the truth. Romans 1:16; 1st Corinthians 1:18-21, etc.
The true Israel of God only glories in the cross of Jesus Christ, were full payment for our sins were paid by the LIFE, DEATH and RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ. FULL payment was secured by Jesus' obedience and faith, period.
" If this is not one of your favorite verses, it should be. If it is, learn to love its every word. Paul defied Judaizers and glorying in circumcision by putting his whole religion in Christ. Paul used the strongest negative to deny association or compromise with the Judaizers’ glory. He has just explained and indicted the false teachers for false motives with circumcision . They gloried in getting Gentiles to follow them in the flesh by having cosmetic surgery.
Paul’s religion did not stoop to such ridiculous things, for his glory was in the cross of Christ. He dumbed down his message and chose one great theme – Christ crucified (I Cor 2:1-5). Save indicates he had nothing else to glory in at all – his glorying was entirely in Christ. Paul had more to glory about as a Jew than anyone (Phil 3:4-7; II Cor 11:18,30; 12:1)! But his great glory was in the death of Jesus Christ, which drove him (II Cor 5:13-16). He counted all things of this world, including O.T. religion, to be only dung (Phil 3:8-11). They mocked him and tried to kill him repeatedly for Christ (Acts 17:32; 20:23; 26:24). Men will glory in anything and everything but Jesus Christ, for He is foolishness to them.
Do you … glory in the religion of Christ? Is this the source and object of your fullest joy?
As you reflect on this question, compare your glorying to God’s definition (Jer 9:23-24).
How can you delight in the Lord, if the things of Christ’s religion bore you (Psalm 37:4)?
Do you have any comprehension of how great the gospel and religion of Jesus Christ are?
You know the only true and living God, and He came to earth 2000 years ago for you!
You know where Jesus Christ is right now with the most glorious names (I Tim 6:16)!
You know the cause of death, source of death, cure for death, and place of no more death!
You know there is an inheritance reserved for you in heaven that includes God Himself!
Do you … glory in the cross of Jesus Christ? Is His death and resurrection a great joy to you?
Do you look forward to the Lord’s Supper for remembering His death until He comes?
Does His death for you constrain you to think of living for Him in payment (II Cor 5:14)?
Are you delighted in the free gift of eternal life obtained by His death alone (Rom 5:19)?
Do you glory in such a gospel of free grace compared to the systems of works of men?
Do you delight remembering His physical, nonphysical, devilish, and spiritual torment?
The cross is not something you wear around your neck or have on the wall of your house.
The use of cross here is a metonym, the place of death being substituted for His death.
Do you … consider the world crucified to you? All that the world can offer is only vanity?
Do you despise and hate all that is in the world – lusts and pride (I Jn 2:15-17; Jas 4:4)?
Do you understand, accept, and delight in serving only one Master (Matt 6:24; Jas 4:8)?
Could you die for Jesus Christ? But better yet, can you live for Him against the world?
If you were to lose everything but still had Jesus Christ and His gospel, is it enough?
Do you … prove that you are crucified to the world? They despise and hate you for Christ?
All that live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution (II Tim 3:12). Are you godly?
Do they recognize you are different by character, conduct, clothing, speech, and actions?
How many enemies do you have for the sake of Christ alone without any faults yourself?
A glorious Saviour died, under glorious circumstances, out of glorious love, after a glorious life of righteousness, after a glorious testimony before Pilate, with glorious mercy to sinners, for the glorious purpose of redeeming His elect, and rose gloriously from the dead to the right hand of God Almighty, where He reigns gloriously, reserving a glorious inheritance for you, and He is coming soon in glory to take you to heaven. What keeps you from glorying?
What will you glory in? Your looks, which are fading every day? Your accomplishments, which are nothing at all? Your wealth, which you cannot take with you? Your thoughts, which are deceitful delusions? Your friends, which cannot help you? Your strength, which is nothing and quickly disappearing? Your wisdom, which is folly in His sight and cannot save you? Your religious devotion, concerning which He will consign many to hell? Your knowledge, which is void of truth. Your future, when you cannot even boast of tomorrow?"....J.R. Crosby

2023.04.01 12:35 moondog151 "The Huang Yanqiu Incident" A rural villager would on three separate occasions go missing after going to bed only to wake up in a major city thousands of miles away and arrived in the city faster than he should've been possible given the distance.

Huang Yanqiu was born in 1956 in Dongbeigao Village in China's Hebei province. Little is known about his early life aside from the fact that he worked as a farmer in the village and his mother passed away while he was a child.

Huang Yanqiu
On July 27, 1977, Huang was 21 years old and still working as a farmer. Huang was recently engaged and planned on marrying his fiancee after the harvest season and the couple recently began building themselves a new home. At 10:00 PM Huang had just finished his farm work for the day and went to bed in his unfinished home. That was the last anyone had seen of Huang for a while as the next morning when the village woke up on July 28 Huang was nowhere to be found.
The village was greatly alarmed by Huang's disappearance and initiated a massive search effort to try and find him but there was no trace of Huang anywhere to be found. This worried and confused the villagers especially Huang's family as Huang never travelled far and only had a primary school level education. They searched the surrounding roads, ponds, cliffs and other unknown locations to try and find him and even contacted the nearest hospitals and police to ask if any unidentified bodies had been discovered but to no avail.
Fortunately, Huang would be found alive and unharmed but this only resulted in more questions. 10 days later on August 6 the village committee received a telegram from Shanghai. The telegram said that Huang was being held at a deportation center and that they were hoping for a local to come and pick him up. The telegram was late to arrive because it was accidentally addressed to the wrong village. There was just one problem, the telegram from Shanghai was dated at 9:AM on July 28 less than half a day after his disappearance. Huang was later returned by the police in Shanghai and it was indeed Huang. There was just one problem, Huang being in Shanghai that soon should've been impossible.
Huang was questioned by his fellow villagers and he could not provide an answer. According to him, he went to bed and when at 6:00 or 7:00 AM he was awoken by a loud noise, this noise wasn't that of the farm animals but instead the sounds of vehicles and numerous people. When he fully awoke he found himself on a sidewalk and that around him were cars, neon lights and tall buildings/skyscrapers. He wondered around and saw writing on the various buildings and businesses which said things such as "Nanjing Shopping Center", "Nanjing Restaurant", and "Nanjing Pharma" and that nearby was a large "swimming pool" which he later found out was Lake Xuanwu. It didn't take Huang long to realize that somehow he was in Nanjing the capital city of Jiangsu Province located 485 miles away from his home village.
While Huang who was now in complete and utter shock at his circumstance walked aimlessly around the unfamiliar city until he was stopped and approached by two police officers. Huang due to his state of shock and disbelief could barely answer their questions. When they asked Huang what he was doing or who he was he simply said that he was "really lost" the two officers led Huang to the Nanjing Rail Station and gave him a ticket to Shanghai and told Huang that they would be waiting for him and once he arrived he'd be taken to a "repatriation camp" for migrants and those without a hukou document. Huang not knowing what else to do and being in no position to disobey or resist bordered the train. 4 hours later the train pulled into Shanghai station and Huang headed out for the first police station he could find and to his confusion, the exact same police officers from Nanjing were already waiting for him despite being out of their jurisdiction, not boarding the train before him and most of all the train was the fastest method available at the time to travel between the two cities and the officers did not bored the train. Arriving to Shanghai before Huang should be straight-up impossible.
The two officers refused to let Huang enter the police station in Shanghai and instead dropped Huang off at the repatriation camp in Shanghai. Huang first told his story to a PLA soldier at the camp named Lü Qingtang and added the detail that the police officers in question were likely from Shandong province based on the ticket he was given. Huang stayed in the camp much longer than expected as when Huang woke up in Nanjing he didn't have any of his identity documents and when the telegrams were sent out to the village to come collect Huang they erroneously addressed them to Xinzhai Village instead of Dongbeigao Village. The confusion was only cleared up after Huang was identified via a birthmark and because the PLA soldier Huang talked to had relatives in the village.
As mentioned any questions the villagers had were multiplied as opposed to answered. Huang arriving in Nanjing that soon should be impossible. At the time trains in China were too slow to make such a fast trip. The nearest rail station was in the city of Handan which Huang would've had to find his way to in the dark despite having never even been to Handan before. But even if he did make it to Handan all by himself with next to no money the train would take 1 whole day to reach Nanjing as opposed to the 9-10 hours between when Huang went to sleep and when he woke up. And this is without taking into account the waiting time for the train to arrive at Haidan station and trains were notoriously late back them sometimes even being held back by an entire day and tickets were expensive.
Other methods of transportation also wouldn't work out. Planes and civilian aviation travel in China was still very new and of course expensive. The entirety of Hebei Province only had a tiny handful of airports with the closest one being in the north near Beijing located on the complete opposite side of Hebei from where Huang lived. It was deemed highly unlikely for Huang to make the trip there by himself especially as he wouldn't know the way and even if he did somehow make it to the airport there would still be the issue of paying for a ticket. A car also wouldn't work as nobody in Dongbeigao village owned a vehicle and even having a bicycle was considered immensely expensive and outside the means of the villagers. And even if he could use any of these methods it still wouldn't explain the short time as to even get from Dongbeigao village to the nearest city Handan would take 4 hours to drive from the village to the city by car. There was also the question of why Huang would assuming he wasn't lying would do this. Huang had never mentioned Nanjing or Shanghai at any point prior and the fact that leaving their ancestral village and families was frowned upon. How Huang made it to Nanjing in such a short amount of time is unknown but most villagers were prepared to accept it as a strange oddity and move on while others dismissed Huang as lying or bragging about visiting a city. That was until it happened again.
On September 8, 1977, it was harvest season in the village again and Huang and his fellow villagers were made to do backbreaking work during a meeting held by the village cadres. At 10:00 PM the head of the village gave Huang and a few other villagers permission to leave and go to bed early as long as they send and deliever manure/fertilizer the next morning. They all took the cadres up on this offer and went to sleep. The next morning on September 9 the villagers arrived at the fertiliser storage area only to notice that Huang was missing. Thinking that he had overslept they all went to his house only to find it empty. Something different caught their eye however, Carved into his bedroom wall was a message and that message said "Shandong Gao Dengmin, Gao Yanjin Relax"
Just like the last time Huang was in Shanghai and was quickly sent back to the village on September 11 and this time there were witnesses both in Shanghai and Dongbeigao. A majority of the village witnessed Huang go to his house and sleep before his disappearance the next morning and just like with his first disappearance Huang couldn't explain it.
According to Huang, he woke up at The Shanghai Rail Station due to a cold breeze, the same one the two mysterious police officers sent him to. Huang was again startled by his surroundings as it was the middle of the night and according to the Station's clock tower, it was 2:00 AM and as far as Huang could see there were no other people and the only light came from the stars and moon. Not only had Huang unknowingly travelled a far distance in an impossibly short time but he also did it at an inopportune time because along with the darkness Huang was constantly startled by the sound of thunder, lighting and battered by heavy rain and high winds because Typhon Babe had recently made landfall near Shanghai.
Huang who was now even more terrified than he was before could only think of Lü Qingtang, Lü was the PLA soldier who helped him after his first trip to Shanghai and was the one who ultimately helped him return home due to his relatives in the village. Lü was not only the only person Huang could think to help him but he was also the only person he knew at all in Shanghai. Finding Lü was not going to be easy as Huang wouldn't be able to navigate Shanghai at all let alone during a typhoon in the middle of the night with no people in sight.
As Huang began to walk he heard a voice coming from behind him hearing a man say "Hello there, you must be Huang Yanqiu of Feixiang County. Trying to head to the artillery division?" this shocked him immensely and he quickly turned back to see who this person was. When he turned around he saw two men dressed in military uniforms. They told Huang that they were soldiers belonging Lü's division and were assigned to pick him up from the railway station.
Huang followed the men who took various ferries and buses before arriving at the "artillery division" located in what is today the Pudong District. Despite how heavily guarded the area is the guards let Huang and the two men pass without issue. They then went to where Lü lived with his family and they were completely shocked to see them as well as Huang again. Lü however, wasn't home at the time. His wife Li Yuying was surprised that the three were even at their home because according to Li "When a relative comes to visit, they have to show their legal documents and sign in at the gate, we'll then come down and confirm their identities, then they can finally be let in. No way the guards and soldiers would let them in without any proceedings!" and years later Lü's son when questioned about the case would say that the two solider's uniforms looked off, he commented that . "...their uniforms looked quite the ordinary, yet not very fitting, especially their visors. One's shoes and visor are the most important part of the uniform,... their visors were too big, and their uniforms seem to have been borrowed, too."
Before his family could question the two they simply walked away and couldn't be found again. Huang being at the base was a major security violation and officials interrogated the guards on duty who all claimed to have never seen Huang and the two soldiers at any point. Once Lü returned home another telegram was sent directly to the head of Dongbeigao Village and they wanted to know every last detail about Huang and who exactly he was with the telegram even straight up asking if Huang was a spy. They received a response from the head of the village, telling them that Huang was just a farmer with no ill intent. Without any other information, the army decided to send Huang back to the village but sternly warned him that he'd be arrested if they ever see him again. He returned home on September 11. In their official reports the military was unable to explain how Huang got to Shanghai so quickly and managed to get into the base.
Due to the multitude of witnesses testifying that Huang went to sleep in the village and the military confirming that he was in Shanghai all those who felt that Huang was lying about his travels soon had their doubts erased. Huang became the most talked about resident of the village and not in a good way as he became the main subject of all the local gossip, rumours and of course superstitions. Many thought that he was possessed or haunted with that being the reason for his seemingly supernatural speed and ability to travel such short distances. The constant attention took a mental toll on Huang's fiance who sued his family for 200 yuan due to "reputational damages" and divorced him. This financially and emotionally ruined Huang and it was when he was at his lowest that the third and final incident happened.
Huang continued his work as a farmer and labourer for the village and on September 20, 1977, he had finished his work for the day and began walking home. According to Huang, however, so tired that he ended up passing out in the yard in front of his house and went missing again. He would stay missing until September 28 when he was found under a Jujube tree in the village and when asked where he had been he told them about the most extraordinary story yet.
According to him, after he passed out in front of his home he woke up and instead of on the sidewalk or in a deserted train station during typhoon season he instead found himself in a luxury hotel room. He looked around and behind him, he saw the same two men from the first two incidents. This time, however, they were both dressed in civilian clothing and introduced themselves. They told Huang that they were brothers from Shandong Province and identified themselves as Gao Dengmin, 26, and Gao Yanjin, 25. Huang also estimated that they were around 170 cm tall. They told Huang that they were the cause behind his disappearances and that they dressed as police and soldiers to help him find his way home, they said that they had something special planned for Huang and that during the next 9 days, they would take him to 9 major cities. Huang asked where he was right now and the brothers told him that it was still September 20 and that he was in Lanzhou located in China's Gansu Province the furthest he has ever been from home.

A composite sketch of the two created by the police
Soon Huang would learn how he had travelled so far so quickly because the next day on September 21 they made Huang climb onto their back and as Huang would later state "They took off" and quite literally flew away with just their bodies. Huang said that they were "flying" at a low altitude and that he didn't feel any wind, he also recounted that the brothers took turns carrying him on their back. In over an hour, the three had arrived in Beijing. They first went to the Chang'an Grand Theater without tickets and just like at the army base nobody stopped them. They watched an opera performance of Forced Onto Mt. Liang. Their next stop was Tiananmen Square and were in front of a Huabiao. The brothers who were now speaking standard Mandarin instead of their dialects introduced Huang to the surrounding areas and checked into a hotel showing the staff a "provincial-level introduction letter" for registration. That same day they then flew to Tianjin where they snuck into a movie theatre without tickets and watched a movie.
On September 22 they arrived in Harbin located in Heilongjiang Province. In Harbin, they visited a department store and then visited Changchun in Jilin Province. On September 23 they went to Shenyang in Liaoning Province. On September 25 they visited Fuzhou in Fujian Province before visiting Nanjing. They spend the next day in Nanjing. On September 27 they visited Xi'an in Shaanxi Province for the Mid-Autumn Festival. Also on September 27, they made their last stop returning to Lanzhou. When Huang went to sleep in their hotel room he woke up under the jujube tree mentioned earlier and was back in Dongbeigao Village
They travelled to every city via the brothers flying and according to Huang no matter how close or how far the city was the time it took to get there was always 1 hour. He also noted that the brothers could speak the local dialects of all the provinces they visited and whenever they went to hotels the brothers always had a "provincial-level introduction letter". One of the brothers always watched Huang while the other would borrow clothing such as police or military uniforms from somewhere Huang didn't know. Clothing and yuan for the accommodations and meals were the only items the brothers carried as they didn't seem to own items such as bags and wallets. Aside from their ability to fly to anywhere they wanted and their strange behaviour such as only carrying clothes and money, Huang said that they were seemingly normal human beings in every other aspect and ate and slept like anyone else. They also had the same body temperature as anyone else would The only rules they seemed to have were that Huang was not allowed to photograph them or anything and he couldn't keep any souvenirs from his trips. When Huang asked why they singled him out they wouldn't respond and when he asked if they could teach him how to fly like them or tell him how they learnt to do it they gave a firm "No" as their answer. Just as they had told him in the 9 days he was missing they had visited 9 different cities.

A map of his travels
Huang was the talk of the village all over again and the superstitions that gods or ghosts were responsible continued. Eventually, the gossip around Huang had gotten to the point that the local police, propaganda department and the nearest military base had heard of Huang's story and began a very extensive investigation into Huang. Offical's believed that he was purposefully sabotaging the village's production and reputation and proceeded to classify him as a "class enemy" While being interrogated his behaviour was found to be "normal" and he showed no signs of mental illness or cognitive disorders. After they were unable to find any evidence of Huang being a threat they reluctantly let him go and revoked his "class enemy" status.
Huang's story became well known throughout China and is one of the country's most famous alleged paranormal events and even the government officially declares his case as "unexplained" This is not the end of Huang's story though.
On December 14, 2004, the case was reinvestigated by Zhang Jingping, an investigator of the Beijing Branch of the China UFO Association, Ji Jianmin, the chairman of the Feixiang UFO Association, and Dr. Wu, a famous Chinese hypnotist, professor of Peking University Medical Department. There was rather conclusive evidence of Huang's first two incidents as numerous witnesses as well as official telegrams all confirm that Huang had gone to sleep in his home village only to appear in Shanghai but there was far more doubt as to if he had been to any of the cities mentioned during his third disappearance.
Huang was put under hypnosis and asked what happened and he told the doctor the same story he did back in 1977. Huang eventually woke up from the hypnotic state claiming that one of the two brothers made him wake up. In 2004 a documentary was made by CCTV and several interviews and tests were conducted during the documentary. He was subjected to a polygraph test and he ended up failing the test and Huang refused to accept these results. Those administering the tests also admitted that Huang's declining memory, the 27-year gap between the test and the incident and the stress of being subjected to such a test for the first time may affect the results. During the documentary, the police based on Huang's descriptions also created composite sketches of Gao Dengmin and Gao Yanjin. Due to the advancement in China's transportation infrastructure, Huang was brought to Nanjing and he was able to retrace his steps and attempt to recreate his journey from the sidewalk to the former then non-existent military base.
They then brought Huang to the physiatric division of Beijing Anding Hospital where the lead doctor after reading his statements said that the brothers would've been travelling at supersonic speeds and that Huang had been sleepwalking or lying. Although nobody defended him from claims of sleepwalking his fellow villagers all refused to entertain the possibility that Huang was purposefully lying to them. They cited Huang's lack of motivation or ability to travel, how he travelled to Shanghai in such a short amount of time and how he had no reason to lie about it since telling his story caused him to become a laughing stock and lost him his fiance. Huang quite literally gain nothing from telling this story and it severely affected him negatively. Aside from a lack of evidence others supporting the lying theory state that Huang only claimed to have visited major cities prompting some to speculate that he just picked them out from a map and that oddly enough he never visited Shijiazhuang which is the capital of Hebei, the province that Huang actually lives in.
Huang was examined by other psychologists and mental health professionals who deemed Huang to be sane which is the source of the sleepwalking theory.
As this theory suggests, Huang was sleepwalking when he made his way to Nanjing and that the stories of the two brothers were just dreams he had while sleepwalking. Various Chinese netizens don't view this theory as credible since Huang while sleepwalking would need to either walk all the way to the train station in Handan (which would take 4 hours to drive to by car) and buy a tick with money he didn't have all while asleep. And while still sleeping once the train stopped in Zhengzhou he would've sleepwalked onto the next train to Shanghai all with nobody noticing he was sleepwalking and waking him up. Just to be sure though doctors performed an MRI scan of Huang's brain and the results came back normal.
The third theory is that Huang suffered from multiple personality disorder and that Gao Dengmin and Gao Yanjin were in fact Huang himself and that he just perceived them as different people due to his disorder. The Gao personalities are the ones that actually travel to the locations only for Huang's normal personality to take over once he arrives at the destination hence him waking up. This theory also states that Huang flying on their backs is actually just a fantasy of Huang Yanqiu's repressed personality. This theory doesn't stand up to scrutiny as various Mental Health officials have found Huang sane and that he would've shown signs of multiple personality disorder before and after the three incidents. This theory also wouldn't explain the short travel times and Lü Qingtang's wife and son also witnessing the two as separate people.
There is one more theory though it is from those who want to believe that it is all real and that Huang is telling the truth and that UFOs may be involved.
They looked further into Huang's claims to try and find any proof that he was in the cities mentioned during his third disappearance. According to one source when describing the weather they matched up with geological data at the time but this appears to be unconfirmed. A journalist went to the Chang'an Grand Theater in Beijing to look through their records and see if they ever held the same performance Huang claimed to have seen.
He discovered that the theatre closed due to the 1976 Tangshan Earthquake and wouldn't reopen until 1979 meaning that Huang could not have seen any performances in that theatre. However, there was another theatre nearby named the Jixiang Theater and they were open in 1977 and on September 21, 1977, the day Huang claimed to be in Beijing they held a performance of Forced Onto Mt. Liang. This journalist ruled that Huang hailing from a small and rural village could've easily confused two nearby and similar theatres in an unfamiliar environment such as the major city of Beijing.
There are also those who agree that Huang travelled at nearly supersonic speeds but instead have a more terrestrial explanation and that Huang fell victim to military experimentation.
This theory states that the military flew Huang to these cities for various experiments and that the Gao brothers were high-ranking officials in charge of the experiments. They then drugged Huang and made him undergo hypnosis to make him forget what he experienced. Many are skeptical of this theory because if the Chinese government wanted to conduct human experimentation they had a myriad of death row inmates and political prisons to draw upon so why instead abduct an innocuous rural farmer from his small village?
"The Huang Yanqiu Incident" remains one of China's most infamous unsolved mysteries but as of now, there have been no new developments as a now 67-year-old Huang has opted to live a quiet life in his village away from the cameras. The last bit of news from Huang came from 2008 when he underwent another round of mental evaluations

Redesigning an Old Saree Blouse with Trendy Peacock Design Embroidery
Sarees are an important part of Indian culture and history. Women of all ages across the country wear sarees for various occasions like weddings, festivals, and formal events. A saree is a timeless garment that is always in style. However, the same cannot be said for the accompanying blouse. Blouses can easily become outdated, and finding a replacement that fits perfectly can be a challenge.

https://preview.redd.it/jpt638pi39ra1.jpg?width=2240&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee02e6b351eb008045da1f18f8cbac4ec53f3c6b
Redesigning an old saree blouse with a trendy peacock design embroidery is a great way to breathe new life into an old garment. In this blog, we will guide you through the process of creating a beautiful peacock embroidery design on your old saree blouse.
Materials Required:
An old saree blouse that needs to be redesigned
  1. Embroidery hoop
  2. Embroidery thread in shades of blue, green, and gold
  3. Embroidery needle
  4. Scissors
  5. Fabric glue or fusible web
  6. Peacock design template (you can find one online or draw your own)
Embroidery is a lovely art form that has been practiced for centuries. It involves decorating fabrics using threads of different colors, patterns, and styles. The embroidery process is time-consuming, but the results are always stunning. In this blog, we have discussed how to redesign an old saree robe with trendy peacock design embroidery. However, embroidery is not limited to saree blouses and can be used to enhance any outfit like dresses, skirts, and jackets.

Choose the peacock design

The first step to redesigning your old saree is to choose a peacock design. You can find many beautiful and intricate peacock designs online. If you are an artist, you can also create your design. Choose a design that complements the color of your saree and suits your style.

Cut out the design and adhere it to the bodice

Once you've chosen your design, cut it out and, using fabric glue or fusible web, stick it onto the bodice you want to embroider. Place it in the center of the blouse or wherever you like.

Secure the blouse to the embroidery hoop

After placing the peacock design on the bodice, place the embroidery hoop over it and tighten it to hold the fabric. The embroidery hoop will ensure that the fabric stays tight, making it easy to stitch the design.

Embroidery

Thread the embroidery needle in your chosen color and tie a knot at the end. Start stitching the design from the center and work your way outwards. You can use a variety of stitches including back stitch, satin stitch, and cord stitch.
Use different shades of blue, green, and gold to create a realistic-looking peacock. Use blue and green for the body and lighter shades for the feathers. For the eyes and beak, you can use a combination of yellow, gold, and black threads.

Remove the embroidery hoop

Once you have finished embroidering, carefully remove the embroidery hoop and trim the loose threads. If you are using a fusible web, remove the paper backing and follow the instructions to attach the embroidery with an iron to the floss. If you use fabric glue, allow it to dry completely before wearing it.
Embroidery is an excellent way to personalize your clothing. You can personalize your clothes by embroidering your initials, favorite quotes, or your favorite characters. Embroidery can also be used to mend clothes that are worn out or have holes. You can cover holes with embroidered patches or use embroidery to create new designs on damaged areas.
In addition to embroidery, there are many other ways to add personality to your clothes. For example, you can use fabric dye to create unique designs or use appliques to add dimension and texture to your garments. Applique involves sewing a piece of fabric onto a larger piece of fabric to create a new design. This is a great way to create a 3D effect and add color to your clothes.
When it comes to redesigning your clothes, the sky's the limit. You can get as creative as you like and experiment with different techniques and materials. By doing so, you can breathe new life into your old clothes and create a wardrobe that is unique and reflects your style.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, redesigning an old saree blouse with trendy peacock design embroidery is a creative and cost-effective way to add a new and unique touch to your saree. With the right material and design, you can turn your old blouse into a piece you love to wear. Take your time and enjoy the process of creating your peacock embroidery design.

2023.04.01 12:28 ButterscotchRare8914 Let’s talk communes

Communes and other types of communities where people live together and make decisions together are an integral part of anarchy and allow for horizontal organization when these communities work together to solve common problems.
However, there is a question of how they should organize. In my opinion, it can be good for people to organize into communities based on their values. This allows to avoid conflicts due to people with irreconcilable differences clashing like vegan and meat eater, straight-edge and someone who does drugs, natalist and antinatalist (yes, that is my personal collection of values) and instead focus on brining the revolution or just being a functional community after the revolution. There is also a question of safe spaces. Do people who lived through abuse by people who did drugs deserve to have a safe space to live in with other people who do not do drugs? (Yes, my personal example as well.) What about those who were victims of sexual abuse from men? Are they allowed to have their own community of only women and where men are not welcome to allow them to feel safe? (Could have been me as well if my life turned out a bit different)
The question is the following then is organization in communities based on values (whether they are philosophical or a result of psychological trauma) anarchist or not? I am asking that because I am a part of such a budding commune (a link for more info) where we are against recreational drug use inside our commune. However, we are being censored and told that what we do has nothing in common with anarchy due to limiting bodily autonomy (which we do not, people can do whatever outside our community, but our community is our safe space, and we want that to be respected)
Let’s see what other anarchists think on that topic. If organizing based on values is regarded as okay, then there is an abuse of power happening that should be addressed.
EDIT: not trying to make it into a meta discussion

2023.04.01 12:22 DMLearning2Play 7e - Introducing Combat, Chase and Negotiation Mechanics to the D&D 5e System using a Generalised "Conflict Based Roleplay System"

This is a follow up to a previous post introducing the 7e Roleplay Gaming System, link at the bottom of this post. There was, to put it mildly, a significant amount of criticism about the philosophy of that project.
In this post rather than speak about the concept of 7e I'm going to focus strictly on the core mechanics of the Conflict system, discussing the rules which unite Combats, Chases and Negotiations scenes. While these rules are designed for a 5e successor, they are mostly compatible with the current D&D 5e system and so can be easily used by groups playing with that system.
Conflict Based Roleplay Gaming System
5e, in my opinion, provides a good core for a general roleplay gaming system. However I do not deny that at it's core it is a combat simulator.
As stated in the previous post, my approach to 7e is to adapt the 5e engine into a more general roleplay gaming system. To achieve this I have taken the existing combat rules, and generalised them in order to have those rules serve a range of different "Conflicts".
A Conflict represents a scene where a significant moment in the plot is decided through the Actions of the Player and GM controlled Characters. In 5e the only Conflict rules presented are rules for Combat, in 7e Conflicts currently represent Combats, Chase Scenes and Negotiations, with plans to expand the types of Conflict available beyond these three (get in the comments if you have suggestions for these!).
The rules for Conflicts share many parallels: they are turn based, each Character may use an Action and Bonus Action, or two Bonus Actions, during their turn. And the ability for Characters to engage in a Conflict is determine from their Fate Points, which represent different outcomes depending on the scene (e.g. in a Combat, Fate Points are equivalent to death saving throws in 5e's Combat System, in a Chase it determines a Character's ability to continue the Chase, in a Negotiation it represents their ability to continue influencing an NPC or, for an NPC, their resolve against the negotiations of the Player Characters.
The intent of these shared rules is that there is a reduced need to learn multiple different sets of rules for different Conflict systems. Not only this, but by using a shared language for these Conflict systems, Character abilities which are useful in one form of Conflict may be used to engage in multiple forms of conflict.
An example of this is the "Distract" and "Taunt" actions. In the context of a Combat Conflict, these effectively grant an attack against a creature advantage, or cause a creature to have disadvantage on an attack roll. These same actions are referenced in the rules of a negotiation, but represent different effects, with the Distract action being used to momentarily stun or distract an NPC while Taunt is used to reduce their resolve through acts of intimidation or insult.
Combat Conflict
The Combat system naturally has a lot of simularities to the existing 5e system, but with a number of quality of life changes and some changes, such as replacing the Help Action with the Distract Action and introducing the Taunt Action. Additionally the wonky Death Saving throw system is much improved from the move to a points based system.
A full description of the rules can be found here, but I will assume people reading this post have some familiarity with the D&D 5e Combat System and so little further introduction is needed:
https://7erpg.fandom.com/wiki/Conflicts_-_Combat
Chase Conflict
The Chase Conflict can be understood as a kind of theatre of the mind interpretation of the Combat Rules, where relative distance between the Player Characters and the GM Controlled Characters determines what the Players can do.
Notably a Characters movement on each round is determined by a "Movement Check", where they are trying to exceed the Chase DC of the GM Controlled Characters who are either chasing, or being pursued by, the Player Characters. By meeting or beating the Chase DC the Players gain ground, bring them closer to their desired position relative the GM Controlled Characters. By failing that check, they lose ground.
The modifier a player uses for a movement check is their movement speed divided by 10, rounded down (e.g. 30ft = +3, 45ft = +4).
The idea of a Chase is that players will use their actions and abilities to help them gain ground. Actions such as a Dash action increase their movement modifier, while features such as Spells and the like may be used to increase their movement speed or decrease the movement speed of the GM Controlled Characters.
Full rules here:
https://7erpg.fandom.com/wiki/Conflicts_-_Chases
Negotiation Conflict
In a negotiation the Player Characters are acting to persuade an NPC towards a certain course of action. This would be used to simulate high stakes negotiations, such as obtaining important information or agreements from an NPC (it isn't intended for simple conversations with shopkeepers and bartenders!!).
Because of the asymmetric nature of Player vs GM agency in the 5e system, the Fate Points of a Player differs from that of a GM character.
A GM Character cannot persuade or convince a Player towards a course of action, the Player is always in control of the Characters actions (unless something like magic is at play). Meanwhile the Player is assumed to be able to persuade a GM controlled character, at the GMs discretion.
To persuade a GM controlled character, the Player will spend their Fate Points, which is effectively their "social currency" to influence the GM controlled character. This allows them to use a range of skills to persuade, taunt or otherwise influence the GM Character towards that course of action.
The GM controlled character resists this in the form of their resolve. The more resolve they have, the harder it will be to convince them towards that act. If a GM Character is reduced to Zero resolve, then they will agree to carry out the request, but more likely the Player Characters will have to offer them a Bargain, which is worth as much as their current resolve points (this could be monetary or service based).
For people familiar with The Witcher RPG it took some inspiration from the ideas presented in that game.
Full rules for negotiations may be found here: https://7erpg.fandom.com/wiki/Conflicts_-_Negotiations
Conclusion
Wish I had the time to write more about this, but honestly I'd be mostly repeating what I've already written on the attached links. Hopefully I've given enough of a feel for how these rules work to pique your interest.
The only thing I'd like to add that in trying these rules out in my 5e games I found that not only were the rules fun, but they create an excellent way to "escape" Combats where the CR was too high or too low. A particularly challenging Combat leads naturally into a very tense Chase scene where the players have the chance to escape rather than continue fighting their way to a tpk. Let me know if you try these rules out or have any thoughts on the concept of a Conflict based system in general!

2023.04.01 12:20 ABlueEagle11 Rules for the Sterling Void: The Valley of Gods and Monsters Part 1

Rules for the Sterling Void: The Valley of Gods and Monsters
You need a change. You need some excitement. Your life feels like it’s been mis-sold to you. Damaged goods that you’re desperate to return, but sadly, you were born out of warranty. You hate your job. You hate your home. You don’t have any family or friends that you feel you can connect to. Student loans, mortgages, bills overdue. You left your dreams to gather dust and crumble like some ancient artifacts in a museum’s stock room. When did it all go so wrong? Nothing has turned out the way you hoped it would when you were a kid. It’s all just been a series of compounding mistakes. Why did nobody tell you that, after a certain point life just seems to get worse and worse? It’s not that you want to die. No, that isn’t it at all. You want another throw of the dice. You want to start again, at a different place, in a different time. You want to go somewhere where you can begin anew, with a completely clean slate. That’s when you first hear about the Sterling Void: The Valley of Gods and Monsters.
A mysterious valley that was said to be home to powerful gods and terrifying monsters. Despite the warnings of the locals, you just cannot resist the allure of the unknown and decided to seek out the valley. After many days of arduous travel through rugged terrain, you finally find yourself at the entrance to the valley. There, you see a sign with a seemingly otherworldly language that makes you uneasy and a lectern with a blue scroll on top of it, a sense of dread washes over you and, just as you take a step forward, it hits you, literally, a note hits you in the face, it contains a set of petrifying rules, but your curiosity gets the better of you. You take a deep breath and step into the valley, fully unaware of the horrors that await you. As you walk further into the valley, the you begin to notice strange things. The colours of the plants and rocks seem to shift and change, and the sky above you is a deep shade of purple. You hear whispers in your ear, but when you turn around, no one’s there. Suddenly, you feel a tug at your feet and look down to see tendrils of mist wrapping around your ankles, pulling you down.
You tried to fight it, but it’s no use. You are dragged down into the mist, and when you finally emerge, you find yourself in a completely different world. The sky is a shade of silver, and the ground beneath you is made of shimmering white crystals. The air is thick with the scent of burning incense and the sense of unbelievable petrifying dread, and you can hear chanting in the distance. This is the Sterling Void, explorer and the you are now trapped there, but you wanted this and you are to blame. You knew that you had to follow the rules if they wanted to survive in this strange and dangerous place. And so, begins your journey through the Valley of Gods and Monsters, where you might face unimaginable horrors yet discover incredible secrets that may change your life forever.
Take a deep breath, adventurer, and savor the scents of burning incense and warm air. Listen closely to the wyverns chirping, inviting you to join them in eternal flight. But beware the staring imps, giants, ogres and griffins, ready to pounce at any moment. An insolent stare and you’ll be in their grasp, a glob of flesh. Remember the note you found, its warning ringing in your mind: 'Follow the rules or perish.' You shudder at the thought, but you're determined to make it through the Valley alive. You pull out the crumpled note as a reminder and steel yourself for the journey ahead. It reads the following -
Rule #1: Do not look at the gods or monsters, some of them are incomprehensible to humans in their "natural form" and, their mere presence can drive a person insane. Although it's not the case for all of them, it's better to be safe than sorry.
Rule #2: Make as little noise as possible. The gods and monsters can hear even the slightest sound and, if you're too obnoxious or noisy, you might be stripped of your soul.
Rule #3: Do not touch or disturb any objects that appear out of place, as they may be cursed or possessed by malevolent entities. These objects may include ancient artifacts, unusual stones, or unusual markings on the ground. If you encounter such objects, it is best to avoid them altogether and move on. Attempting to interact with them or take them may lead to disastrous consequences, such as being possessed by a vengeful spirit or cursed with a never-ending torment. Always exercise caution and respect for the supernatural forces that inhabit the Sterling Void. The objects in the valley can bring forth unspeakable horrors.
Rule #4: Only eat fruits and vegetables, as they are provided abundantly by the plants. Do not harm any animals unless they attack you first, as they are protected by divine grace. However, if the elementals or gods provide you with meat, you may eat it. It is important to follow the rules of supernatural hospitality and show gratitude for their generosity. Breaking this rule will result in severe consequences and you will forfeit the right to your soul and flesh, as it is a sign of disrespect towards the beings that have granted you protection and shelter. Remember, survival is possible without meat, but it is impossible without the protection of the elementals and gods.
Rule #5: Do not breathe in the mist. The mist in the valley can cause hallucinations and distort your perception of reality, making it dangerous to navigate. Cover your nose and mouth with a cloth if you must pass through it.
Rule #6: Do not touch the water unless it is orange in color. The water in the valley is cursed, and those who drink from it will suffer a fate worse than death. If you must drink, only drink from the "gilded water" that is orange in color and has regenerative properties.
Rule #7: Do not make eye contact with the statues. The statues in the valley are cursed, and those who look into their eyes will be trapped in a never-ending nightmare.
Rule #8: Do not trust your senses entirely. The valley can play tricks on your mind, and what you perceive may not always be real. Always verify your surroundings before making decisions.
Rule #9: Do not speak to anyone or anything that could possibly be a malevolent creature. The valley is home to creatures that can mimic human voices, and their intentions are often malevolent. Be cautious and discerning in your interactions .
Rule #10: Do not attempt to leave the valley without proper preparation. The gods and monsters that reside within the valley will make it difficult to leave.
Rule #11: Try to minimize use of light especially if you're out in the open. The creatures in the valley hate it and, and may hunt those who use it.
Rule #12: Do not disrupt the natural order of the valley. The curse that plagues the valley is delicate and easily disrupted. Avoid stepping on any cracks or disturbing the natural environment. Those who break the natural order will suffer dire consequences.
Rule #13: Do not open any doors unless you know where they lead. Some doors in the valley lead to places best left unexplored. If you do not know where a door leads, do not open it.
Rule #14: Do not climb any trees unless it is necessary. The trees in the valley are alive and may trap you if you climb them. Only climb if it is necessary for your survival.
Rule #15: Do not use any technology unless it is absolutely necessary. The valley is a place of ancient magic, and technology may anger the gods and monsters that reside within it. Use technology sparingly and only when it is necessary for your survival.
Rule #16: Do not pick any flowers unless they're orange, pink or red. Most flowers in the valley are cursed, and those who touch them will suffer a fate worse than death.
Rule #17: Do not enter any caves. The caves in the valley are home to creatures best left undiscovered.
Rule #18: Do not follow any "weird" sounds. The sounds in the valley are often a trap set by the creatures that inhabit it.
Rule #19: Should you spot an Inn with a sign or a placard reads "The Guardian's Grin" on the road-side, you’re in luck! You’ve found a traveller’s haven. Feel free to spend as much time as you want here and even stock up on supplies and, if you have need something, feel free to ask the staff for help. However, try not to be a nuisance and, don't overstay your welcome if you turn out to be a nuisance, the owner doesn't take kindly to those who abuse his hospitality. If you make a mess or, are a nuisance, don't stay for more than a day. And, in case you're wondering, none of the inhabitants of the inn are human no matter how human they look or, act.
Rule #20: Do not stay in one place for too long. This makes you an easier target for the creatures in the valley. Always be on the move, and do not linger in any one place for too long.
Rule #21: Do not attempt to communicate with the gods or monsters unless you have a concrete reason to or you really think you need to. They do not like pointless chatter, and attempting to communicate with them without any concrete reason so will only anger them.
Rule #22: Do not walk in predictable patterns. This can draw unwanted attention from the creatures in the valley. Vary your movements and be unpredictable.
Rule #23: Do not look at the sky, the sky looks like it’s made of silver alloys and, it is utterly incomprehensible to humans because of how “perfect” it is. And, can drive them insane, it is called the “sterling void” for a reason
Rule #24: If you see wooden signs or, milestones, do not read them or look at them for too long, they are memetic hazards.
Rule #25: If you hear screams of help, don't answer them. Don't move, you can't run or hide. Simply pray for salvation for heaven's divine grace. Only move when help comes, you'll know when help comes.
Rule #26: If you see an animal that has gone extinct in your universe, don't fret. It's neutral. It won't attack you unless you attack it.
Rule #27: If you see a loved one or, an object that you cherished but, lost, you are in a different plane of reality. The beings in this reality will try to convince you that you are home, and that everything is back to normal. They will try to keep you there, so be careful not to let your guard down. If you stay too long, you may forget who you really are and become trapped in this false reality forever. Keep in mind that even though the beings in this reality may look like your loved ones or your cherished objects, they are not the same entities and cannot be trusted. Stay alert and focused on finding a way back to your own reality. Look for blue-colored entrances and, exits for they are the only way out.
Rule #28: If you find scrolls, pick them up, they're going to be useful. Unless they're black in which case, they're best avoided as they're memetic hazards.
And just as you put the note back in your pocket, you remember the blue scroll, you take it out. It reads "The Nameless One is a fearsome creature that roams the deepest and darkest corners of the Valley of Gods and Monsters. Its origins are shrouded in mystery, and its true name is lost to the ages, but one thing is certain: it is a force to be reckoned with. Towering over its prey, the Nameless One is covered in an impenetrable layer of obsidian armor, and wields a massive hammer that can crush even the strongest of warriors. Its eyes glow with an otherworldly light, and its roar can shatter the very ground beneath your feet. Few have dared to face the Nameless One and lived to tell the tale, but those who have speak of a creature that is relentless, cunning, and utterly without mercy. If you ever find yourself face to face with the Nameless One, pray that you have the strength, the skill, and the luck to survive its wrath. If you see any of his minions, you will know. Stay away from them, if you harm them, you will anger the Nameless one. And don't fall asleep out in the open unless you want to become food for his minions
Remember, these rules are not to be taken lightly. They're more than just words on a piece of paper. They're like the Nameless One's eldritch serpentine minions, crawling underneath your skin, snaking through your blood and flesh, like a caterpillar playing host to thousands of wasp larvae. Although you may feel weakened, tired and disoriented, it's crucial to push through. Shake off the feeling and continue with unwavering determination. Your survival hinges on your ability to persevere. And, do keep in mind that sometimes you might have to violate these rules but, do not break any of these rules unless explicitly told to ignore a given rule. Only trust notes from me( You'll know if a note is from me) and, non-black scrolls. Do not trust any other source of information though you can try your luck with certain gods, fairies and elementals . But, not all rules necessarily have to be correct. And, do not forget the rules. Forgetting even one of the rules can lead to disastrous consequences.
As you’re about to roll the scroll, you notice a poem at the bottom that reads -
I am a set of rules, both true and false,
Some may lead you right, others may convulse.
Secrets I hold, mysteries I hide,
But beware, dear explorer, for I may misguide.

Beware of sneaky contradictions,
And secrets lost in the Void's evictions.
Can you spot the lies, can you see?
Or will they trip you up and deceive?

I am a list of rules, some true and some fake,
Read me closely, your life is at stake.
The truth is hidden, the lies intertwined,
Can you spot the deception and leave it behind?

But beware, dear reader, for beyond these words,
A darkness looms, like flocks of ominous birds.
The raven is watching, its eyes full of dread,
A symbol of death, of melancholy, and of what lies ahead.

You keep exploring.

2023.04.01 12:18 Ok_Challenge4753 How to create Dynamic NFTs using Chainlink oracle?

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have taken the world by storm, with numerous artists and creators turning to them as a way to monetize their digital creations. These tokens are unique and non-interchangeable, making them ideal for representing digital art, collectibles, and other unique assets. However, NFTs are static by nature, meaning that they cannot change once created. This is where oracles come into play.
Oracles are third-party services that allow smart contracts to interact with real-world data. They can provide external data, such as the current price of an asset, to a smart contract, which can then use that data to perform certain actions. This ability to access external data means that oracles can be used to create dynamic NFTs that can change over time.
In this article, we will explore how to create dynamic NFTs using the Chainlink oracle.
What are Dynamic NFTs?
Dynamic NFTs are non-fungible tokens that can change over time based on real-world events. For example, a dynamic NFT could represent a sports team, and its appearance could change based on the team's performance. Or, a dynamic NFT could represent a piece of art that changes color based on the weather.
To create a dynamic NFT, you need a way to access real-world data and use it to modify the token. This is where oracles come into play.
How to Create Dynamic NFTs using Chainlink Oracle?
To create dynamic NFTs using the Chainlink oracle, you will need to follow these steps:
Step 1: Define the NFT
The first step is to define the NFT you want to create. This includes deciding what it will represent, what attributes it will have, and how it will change based on real-world data.
Step 2: Choose the Chainlink Oracle
Next, you will need to choose a Chainlink oracle that can provide the real-world data you need. Chainlink has a wide range of oracles that can provide data on everything from weather to sports scores.
Step 3: Create a Smart Contract
Once you have defined the NFT and chosen the oracle, you will need to create a smart contract that can interact with the oracle. This smart contract should include the logic for how the NFT will change based on the data provided by the oracle.
Step 4: Integrate the Oracle into the Smart Contract
With the smart contract in place, you will need to integrate the oracle into the contract. This involves writing code that will request data from the oracle and use it to modify the NFT.
Step 5: Deploy the Contract
Once the smart contract is complete, you will need to deploy it to the blockchain. This will make it accessible to anyone who wants to interact with the NFT.
Step 6: Mint the NFT
Finally, you can mint the NFT. This involves creating a token on the blockchain that represents the NFT. Once the token is created, it can be bought, sold, and traded just like any other NFT.
Conclusion
Dynamic NFTs are an exciting new development in the world of non-fungible tokens. By using oracles, creators can create tokens that change over time based on real-world events. The Chainlink oracle is an excellent choice for creating dynamic NFTs, thanks to its wide range of data sources and easy-to-use API. If you're interested in creating a dynamic NFT, consider using the Chainlink oracle to bring your creation to life.

2023.04.01 12:14 Mammoth-Thought-8837 I'm struggling with a friendship, request input

Eh this whole post may be tl:dr, but it's helping me collect my thoughts.
I'm fairly isolated and don't have many friends. I lack confidence when it comes to my ability to connect with other people. One of my closest friends is also a roommate, we've known each other for many years. I struggle with feeling like I annoy him and being unsure if he actually wants to hang out with me. Our friendship feels one sided to me, in the sense that I am the only one who ever initiates contact or us hanging out. He never contacts me first, or asks me to do anything with him. He is very monotone and tends to just go with the flow, participating with stuff that's presented to him. I have a hard time reading whether he is interested in something, or just being passive and agreeable. He tends to respond to things in an aloof way, and never directly turns anything down. It makes me feel really insecure about spending time with him. However I also know that he struggles with depression and isn't the type of person to take initiative with any of the people in his life, so I don't think it's personal and that's why I keep going. This isn't new. I know that our friendship is based on me reaching out to him. But lately it's been really bothering me.
Anyway I am dog sitting right now, I know that he's been feeling depressed lately and he really likes dogs, so I invited him to join us on a walk hoping it would cheer him up. I first asked him if he wanted to go on a dog adventure at the end of the week a couple of days ago and I think he sounded interested. I texted him in the early evening and later called him in case he hadn't noticed my text. He said over the phone that he just needed to get his laundry in the drier and he would come come over in a half hour. It took him an hour and a half to show up, and waiting on him made me feel pretty restless and annoyed. I guess he was late because he wanted to get some stuff done before coming over. But if he wanted to hang out, why would he leave his laundry and personal chores until tonight and choose to do them right then? It's not like there's a hard deadline for any of those tasks. Am I just being too sensitive in being bothered by this? Am I making too many assumptions? Assuming he was interested in hanging out with me and then assuming he wasn't interested because he showed up so late? I asked him if he actually wanted to hang out or just came because I pressured him into it. I complained about our friendship being one sided and that he never asks me to do stuff with him. This sparked an argument with him leaving.
He basically said it was an aggressive and unfriendly question, and that the one time he did try to initiate contact with me I was hostile. This was a couple weeks back when I was having a really rough time mental health wise. I'm having a really rough time of things, with the death of some relatives and my own debilitating health problem. When my mental health gets bad I tend to shut down and have a hard time communicating with people. This time it got so bad that I couldn't even talk. I ended up avoiding everyone. Which I get can seem really rude and be unpleasant to be around. I feel bad about that and I wish I had some better coping mechanisms. In the past when I've struggled with my mental health around my roommate/old friend he's gotten upset because he thinks my mood is because of him. He wants to have a big deep discussion to resolve the issue. I find this stressful. I wish I could have a bad day or a bad week to myself without it being about him. Anyway a couple weeks ago when I was in a bad state and not socializing with him like usual, he asked if I was okay. I was very not okay but was having a hard time speaking. I think I said something along the lines that I'm doing poorly, but it's just something I'm going through and not anything that has to do with him. I also asked him if I need to alert him every time I'm struggling so that he doesn't think it's a conflict between us. I was feeling annoyed at the time because I didn't feel up to talking and the only way he handles those kinds of situations is through having a deep discussion. I was bothered by the idea of having to participate in a talk to listen to how my feelings are making him feel and convince him that I don't have a problem with him. So I ended up coming across as really stand-offish and also avoiding him for the rest of the week. I eventually started to be able to communicate again and get back to having normal interactions. However it bothers him to let things return to normal without discussing it, while these big discussions stress me out.
I get that he's not okay with being treated that way and that it's important to him to be able to confront people when he feels hurt or disrespected. It's wrong for me to make my friend feel so poorly for just trying to check up on me, but I wish I could have a bad day or a bad week without it having to be such a big deal. If anything comes out that he doesn't like he will memorize it and quote it back to me at a later time, to reiterate how much it bothered him. I may say something in the heat of the moment that comes out wrong, that I don't actually agree with, and it feels really awful. He is always able to stay well composed and well spoken. I'm not saying it's okay to say aggressive things to my friend or make him feel bad, but is it not human to loose your temper on occasion? It's something that happens rarely. It feels like he won't give me any leeway to be flawed with communication in a bad moment. I try hard to be a good friend to him. I don't think I'm mean spirited or aggressive as a whole, but he makes me feel pretty bad about myself. I don't know if I'm a bad friend. Are we incompatible as friends? We normally do great as housemates, but I'm not sure if I want to continue next year because I don't feel safe having a full range of emotions in proximity of him and I feel like we make each other's insecurities worse.
The negative interaction we had with the dog walking thing seems like such a small thing. It seems dumb putting this much thought into such a short interaction and such a brief micro conflict. I know my friend probably felt spurred into getting chores done because the idea of doing something fun motivated him after feeling too down to get much done these past few days, and he probably lost track of time or didn't think it would bother me how late he showed up. He probably feels hurt that I would get so frustrated with him when he needs a friend. He probably feels disrespected that I discounted his ability to turn me down and implied that he's only spending time with me because I make him. Thinking of him like that takes away his agency. I know I could have handled my frustration in a less aggressive way and found a nicer way to communicate my feelings. I could have started by asking why he was so late, rather then letting my insecurities tell me that he's late because he doesn't feel like coming and just didn't want to turn me down. I could have calmly told him how his actions made me feel, rather then venting my feelings on him. I could have just focused on tonight, rather then connecting it to a pattern of our overall friendship. I know that's how he's going to take the interaction and he's going to walk to talk about it when I get home.
I'm dreading going home. I know it's going to be awkward. I know he's going to want to have a discussion about this and things can't go back to normal until we do. I know that I am going to shut down and feel a strong urge to avoid him for days, and he won't let this go. I know that I'm not going to be able to effectively talk with him and he's going to take what ever comes out to heart in a bad way. Anything I say has the capacity to hurt him and he seems to get emotionally wounded very deeply very easily. I hate that. I don't want to cause him emotional pain. I feel like he's holding every negative interaction from all his past experiences with people against me, on top of what ever I may do wrong. I'm not sure if he thinks I'm a bad person or a bad friend, and it makes me feel bad. He won't give me the benefit of the doubt and move on, and perhaps I am doing the same to him.

2023.04.01 12:12 Deprogram_bot If Trump stole from the rich and gave to the poor he would become president for life. But instead he steals from his base to give to himself.

Trump is with the rich. It's not a secret. What if he wouldn't be. What if he simply tried to redistribute wealth. That's how you really get the people behind you. And at rallies. By taking money from the rich and giving it to the poor. Give them money, promise of free health care etc. If he did that, he would win and he would be in power again. And possibly be able to become a dictator for life. Thank God he's too self absorbed he won't be able to do that.

  • Getting clients without needing to do manual cold email outreach
  • Acquiring a handful of clients who pay premium prices on a recurring basis
  • Working with clients who have more money than time
  • Executing a content strategy that works to acquire high ticket clients vs SEO traffic
  • Turning leads into clients so you never have to worry about losing one big client
  • Living month-to-month with unstable cashflow

What it helps you achieve

  • Position you as a “market of one” so clients can only get what you sell from you
  • Grow an audience you own and can contact anytime you need a new client
  • Take on a new client whenever you need by sending one email
  • Run small budget ads to your content to add new prospects to your email list daily
  • Get off the content creation hamster wheel by doing all of the above with 1-5 pieces of content (aka 1-5 “greatest hits”)

How it works

Greatest Hits Content is broken down into seven parts (with templates, email swipes, and examples you can model). Every part has an over-the-shoulder video training that is 30-90 minutes in length.

Part 1: Greatest Hits Content Survey

TL;DR: How to find content topics using a unique survey method.
  • The three questions you need to ask to find the best content topics.
  • The survey template we used to get 104 responses.
  • How to analyze the survey results and prioritize what content to create first.
  • How to check if the topics from your survey have organic traffic potential.
  • How to run this survey on social media if you don’t have an email list.

Part 2: AIDA Article Template

TL;DR: How to create slam dunk content every time with a proven writing template.
  • How to write the headline, outline, and body of your blog posts to hook in the right readers.
  • The writing template we use (based on the exact same template we used to attract the Head of Product Marketing at Amazon with one blog post).
  • Introduction and body copy formulas for the five blog post formats we’ve found that work the best to attract big clients.
  • Live examples of how to write content that gets clients and ranks on Google.
  • One resource you can use to outsource your content for less than $0.18 per word, if you don’t want to write it.

Part 3: Three Jabs Strategy

TL;DR: How to get over 10% of your traffic to convert into leads.
  • How to use “Utility Content Upgrades” to convert content-driven traffic into leads.
  • REAL LIFE EXAMPLE: The content conversion strategy we used on one blog to convert the blog’s traffic into 10,080 email leads per month.
  • How to track what individual pieces of content convert to clients the best, so you can double down on promoting your top converters.
  • How to make sure more of your emails hit your leads inbox so they see your offer (hint: Active Audience).
  • How to customize the experience for every visitor to your site so you get more conversions from your content.

Part 4: Red Packet Partnerships

TL;DR: How to get 100-1,000 leads in a day (without SEO or paid ads).
  • How to find partners who can add 100-1,000 leads to your business in one day, using your content and “guest emails”.
  • The free tool we use to add emails to our mailing list, when someone clicks a link inside one of our partner’s emails. No one teaches this.
  • How to track how many clients come from every partnership, so you can do more promos with partners who deliver high paying clients.
  • Three warm partner methods and three cold partner methods. Start with the warm partner methods for quick and easy partnership wins.
  • The exact partnership script we use to land win-win partnerships with big influencers we’ve never met before.

Part 5: $5 Hit Records

TL;DR: How to run small budget content distribution ads to get daily leads.
  • The one Google Analytics report you need to look at to see which of your content converts the best, so you can promote it in your ads.
  • A live demo of how to set up your ads inside the ad network with the exact conversion objective and settings you need to use.
  • The step-by-step standard operating procedure our team uses that you can follow or give to a team member to set up your ads for you.
  • A campaign planning template with ad copy, headlines, and blog post URLs so you can fill-in-the-blanks, then upload your ads into the ad network.
  • How we write ads that get shares and leads. I go over one of our highest converting ads with a 20% share-to-reaction ratio, and breakdown how to write one for yourself.

Part 6: Viral Content Upgrades

TL;DR: How to get strangers to share your content daily (without cold outreach).
  • What to do after someone opts-in to your email list so you get more traffic to your content without paying more for ads.
  • Content upgrades vs viral content upgrades. How, when, and where to use each of them to get maximum shares and leads from your content.
  • The free viral sharing tool we use to get people to share our blog posts. This is 25x more effective than the share bars you see on blogs nowadays.
  • How to leverage “credibility content” in your viral content upgrades to turn sharers into clients.
  • A live demo from blog post to social share so you can see how it all works how to set it all up.

Part 7: 900 Word Emails

TL;DR: How to get $500-$15,000 clients (without a phone call).
  • Four GOATs of email marketing who’ve driven millions of dollars from email. Here’s what I learnt from each of them to run 6-figure email campaigns.
  • How to use “presell content” to get the most qualified prospects in your audience to raise their hand that they want your help.
  • How to find the trigger points that get your clients to buy. Once you know these, you can keep using them in your emails to bring on new clients.
  • Word-for-word examples of how to write your emails, including how to word the call to action at the end of your email so people reply to your offer.
  • How to have a natural conversation with people over chat, so you can see if what you have to offer is a good fit for them, then bring them on as a client.

Build a six figure marketing agency and the best part? it’s a reality that all of my students are living RIGHT NOW.Take care of your family & loved ones. Yeah… this is something close to my heart. My marketing agency finally allowed me to take care of my mom and the people who believed in me when I had nothing.Travel the world, anytime!
