10 Hello, I am in Berlin and I see a lot of illegal things happening regularly and see issues like dirty places, charging money unfairly, etc. So lot of the things I didnt like in India, still exist here. I am thinking of moving to Netherlands. Would like to know if you have come across illegal things happening in Netherlands, especially with Indians. One example is, indian students doing cash job at resturant at half the minimum wage.

New to logic pro, and audio recording in general. This is my first attempt so hopefully I haven't missed anything obvious. Everything looks good on my system except that LP doesn't see any audio input
MBP, OS 13.2.1 Logic Pro 10.7.7 Scarlett 2i2 Fender Rumble 100 amp
When I connected the Scarlett to my mac it appeared with no prompt to install additional software. I set it as the system input source and when I play my bass the level indicator in system settings>sound>input shows the system is receiving audio.
In LP settings>audio input and output are set to Scarlett 2i2. The interface appears to be detected with no issue. But when I play there is no indication that LP is receiving the audio. When I record it's total silence. Read several setup guides and they all said to do the same things, which is set the system up as described.
Anything obvious that I'm missing?

Me and my mate have been friends for about 7 years now and have always got along well talking n messaging consistently but for the past 6 months it’s just changed we’ll be talking and they just won’t message back for 2-3 days and when I ask why they just say “haven’t checked snapped/I’ve been sleeping/I don’t get any notifications” which pisses me off n when I try n ask more it just gets brushed off (probably important to note they have Asperger’s). It’s got to the point where I’m sick of it and think I’m the problem for caring too much and idk what to do anymore.

Just over four years ago, as we were getting close to 10,000 members, we put out the call for new moderators. Since then, we've had some folks stay, some folks go, but here we are at over 60,000 members, and we haven't really expanded our coverage in a couple of years.
It's time.

What We're Looking For

There are a couple of qualifications you should have under your belt. This is a quick rundown:

• In a stepparent role, regardless of marital status or living status
• Participation in good standing on /stepparents
• An understanding of the rules and all of the nuances therein
• Spare time to volunteer

There are a few other things we'll be looking at as well. We want active members who are actually interested in helping others get over some of the hurdles stepparenting brings. We want people who are capable of engaging in reasonable discourse, even when dealing with a poster you may not be particularly fond of. And most importantly, we want mature posters who aren't afraid of being heckled.

The Daily Life of a Stepparent Mod

• View new posts and either approve or remove those that are in violation of the rules
• Keep an eye on comments and remove those that are in violation of the rules
• Read through reports and take action in accordance with the rules
• Keep thread derailments at a minimum
• Remove spam, trolls, etc
• Stay current with Reddit policies and rules (these do get updated from time to time)
• Work with other mods on sub rule changes, wiki updates, and AutoModerator updates

The mod team uses discord currently for communication. Most of what happens here doesn't require immediate attention, but when it does, it's usually a Really Big Deal. And while we respect the autonomy of mods to make their own calls, we do tend to discuss the big issues that come up. If you've been around for a bit, you've seen the brigading, and there are days when the cleanup takes a lot of coordination.

What's In It For You

Glory and fame. To be perfectly honest, while being able to say "I'm a moderator on a parenting subreddit," is nifty at cocktail parties, there really isn't anything else in it for you. There's no compensation, sometimes you can get burned out, and sometimes things can get stressful. Targeting and harassment by trolls is not unheard of.
The upside? There's a feeling of satisfaction knowing that you are helping others through things you yourself have experienced, and there's a lot of satisfaction in helping grow a community to be a place of comfort for thousands. And there's also the developing friendships between mods that brings its own sense of belonging and community.

How to Apply

We're going to leave the application open for a few weeks. If you are selected, you will get a 4 week trial run. This gives you time to see if you actually like moderating this sub and it gives us time to get a sense of your style moderation and making sure it's a good fit. We'll be adding several people, so you'll have other newbies to work with. We expect you to keep lines of communication open, and be open to letting the older mods guide you. It is absolutely critical that we all have a good rapport and can work together.

I'm a 21 year old female who has struggled with weight issues since I was a teenager. I have always been the skinnier of the two of my friends. (I'm 5'4 and weigh 130lbs)
I have always been the one who carries her weight around and I will often put it on my arms and shoulders, which is fairly large. I carry weight on my thighs and hips, and when standing, I have a fairly high center of gravity.
So, I have always been the one making fun of my weight to the other. We have always been laughing about it, and this is one of the few times where I am upset that they are mocking me.
As a 23 year old female, I have been having weight problems as well. (I'm 5'4 and weigh 130lbs).
The other day, my friend, who has always been the skinnier of the two of us, made a joke about how I'm not in the same league as the other person, and she said that she thought I was a 10/10. This offended me greatly.
I am extremely upset with her. I really didn't mean to offend her. I just want to feel better about myself. I don't even know what to say to her to make her feel better.

My husband and I have been together 12 years, married 10 with an 8 year old boy. Our son has always struggled with behavior and was recently diagnosed adhd and odd. This is also something my husband struggled with as a child. After exhausting all of my own toxic parenting attempts I got my son in to see a therapist who I also worked with and I have changed my parenting style from military type to more gentle. He still has outbursts but I’m working on making my love for him known through it and our connection is better than it has ever been.
My husband disagrees with therapy and thinks that we should spank and give our son the silent treatment as a form of punishment. I completely disagree and after he tried ignoring my son one day last week we haven’t been speaking much since giving me the silent treatment is also how he handles disagreements in his marriage as well. Last night I asked for a conversation to which he said “no, we will never agree about parenting” I agreed but did think it was important to tell him that our son told his therapist that his dad hates him at his last appointment and his response was “I don’t care, I’m not going to lose any sleep over that”. I know that I have to leave now for my sons mental health but this is proving to be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Our marriage has been on the rocks for a few months now and I’ve been thinking about divorce a lot. I have tried communicating my needs, feelings and thoughts but they’ve all been dismissed. He absolutely refuses to get therapy but tells me he doesn’t want our marriage to end.
Now that I know a divorce is the only solution for both mine and my sons mental health I am completely heartbroken. Please tell me this gets better because right now it feels horrible.

I absolutely understand that correlation does not equal causation. But I’ve wondered if, having been put on Ritalin at the age of nine, and through all those years, through puberty, until I was about 25 I was still prescribed some form of stimulant.
I’m not sure if studies have ever been done on this necessarily, and it probably isn’t related, but I’m just wondering if going through those physical changes in my teens and 20s, with the influence of stimulants, could have caused my body to continue not usually putting on weight. Through changes in diet and exercise and everything I have gotten more control over all of that, and I haven’t been on any prescribed stimulants in just over 10 years.
I guess my question or thought about it is whether or not it may have influenced me genetically on some level as my body was changing. Thanks!
I’m guessing the two things aren’t related, but I’ve wondered about it for a very long time.

Fuzion is far from perfect but I kinda like it with some modifications.
One thing I would like to change is how skills are used. In Fuzion it solved by Characteristic + Skill + Dice.
Regarding dice in Fuzion you have actually two choices: Either 1D10 or 3D6, chose one and stick with it for the rest of the campaign.
For example Average Joe has dexterity 3 and knows how to climb trees (skill 3). Now he forced to climb a rock to escape from a cocaine bear. To do this Joe has to overcome DV 18, this rock requires a competent climber, and Joe is average, not competent.
Using 1D10 he is mostly screwed, he must roll 10 which is a critical success, it grants him to roll another 1D10 to add to this. So the mathematics is: 3+3+10+1D10, so even that has a risk of failure. Poor Joe.
Now with 3D6 the basic roll gives a much higher chance for Joe to not get molested by the bear. The DV is still 18 and rolling equal or better with 3+3+3D6 is lower than 50%, because... well Joe is average. However critical success is much lower, it requires you to roll all sixes and then you can roll 2D6 to add to the result.
If Joe managed to get a total result of 29 one could match it to the Difficult Value-table and say that Joe did an Incredible climb, but other than that it is either success or failure, which is kinda boring.
The option of using 3D6 is... intriguing, because several gaming system are using D6:s for skill rolls.

Now to the point - using 3D6 to diversify the outcome.
Roll 1 three times = Fumble, worst possible outcome that is not lethal. Something you will remember for decades to come, like your attempt to sneak managed to alarm the entire town.
But if you are so competent that 1+1+1 + skills + characteristic are as good or better than DV it is just a simple failure.
Roll 1 two times = Either a bad failure, like you hurt yourself trying and will suffer the rest of the day. Or as not as good success as you desired. Like the task succeeds but something broke, got lost.

Roll 6 two times = If it is a failure it is not a total failure, you can give it at a short rest to think it over and give it a second try, for example. Or a better than expected success, like you managed to climb unusually fast and are not even tired.
Roll 6 three times. Task succeeds even if the DV is not reached. A critical success if the result is same or better than DV, like making a bomb that do tripple the maximum damage.

Looking to pick up some new wedges, a 52° and 58° in the S23. For the 52°, im almost certainly going to go for S grind with 10 bounce for fuller shots. For the 58° however, I'm not so sure. The three main options available to me at my local store for this loft are: (C grind, 8 bounce), (D grind, 12 bounce), and (S grind, 14 bounce). Does anyone have any recommendations on which to choose here for the 58°? I think I'm going to get these in 1° degree upright to match my irons but I've heard that wedges should generally be played slightly flatter. Hi,
37, male, white, 80kg, 5'10". Mental diagnoses of dysthimia, social phobia and/or avpd, GAD, substance use disorder and recurring episodes of major depression. I've been hospitalized 6 months ago for suicidal ideations. Medical diagnoses of multiple sclerosis, sleep apnea and hypertension (just diagnosed, not treated yet). Medications : Kesimpta (MS), vitamin D (2000iu daily), quetiapine (25-75mg at nighttime when needed). Currently withdrawing from duloxetine (stopped 2 weeks ago, tried 3 months ago but I ended up in a kind of hypomanic state so we went back to a higher dosage and proceded to reduce slower than before, still feel kind of wired). Also withdrawing from weed (stopped 8 days ago, big symptoms are insomnia, anxiety, irritability, crying spells, anger). No other legal or illegal substances, managed to stop drinking 5 years ago.
Long story short, last time my psychiatrist met me, he told me that medications weren't an option anymore. I've been on over 30 psychiatric meds over the last 10 years (antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilisers, psychostimulants for fatigue, benzos and some that I wouldn't know how to classify) with mixed (mainly bad) results. He told me that the next option was ECT with hospitalization of an unknown length and the decision is now in my hands. I decided to stop smoking weed before going with this option to have an idea of what my psychiatric symptoms are while being 100% sober. I started smoking weed 5 years ago so I know that it's not the only cause of my problems, I haven't been mentally healthy for over 20 years. As an information, I was consuming daily from maybe 4pm to 10pm mainly in form of joints for a total usage of between 0,5g and 2,5g of cannabis per day (THC 25-30%). I was using it to calm me and to help me sleep (I wasn't using quetiapine and weed at the same time).

Questions:
- My psychiatrist told me to wait at least 6 months before drawing conclusions regarding my mental health without weed. According to him, that's how long it will take for my neurotransmitters to get back to normal levels. I can't seem to be able to verify that information by myself though so I'd like another opinion. All I can find is that it should take around 4 weeks for my cannabinoid receptors to get back to normal. Ideally I want to be able to make a decision ASAP as I'm currently unable to work. Is this a valid timeframe?
- Is ECT safe for someone with MS? Are there any things that I should know? I haven't been able to speak to my neurologist and won't see her for another 8 months. Google seems to think so...
- My psychiatrist told me that ECT would help break my strong defense mechanisms (I'm a really anxious person). I don't really like this explanation, for me it doesn't sound scientific. Is there any evidence to that?
- Is ECT a treatment that every psychiatrist, even new ones, have the knowledge and capacity to perform/supervise?
